THE CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY BROKE WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE VEHICLE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CARD 21 MONTHS AGO IT WAS BROKEN. I HAD IT REPLACED BY A MECHANIC WITH AN OEM REPLACEMENT AND IT HAS NOW OCCURRED AGAIN BUT IN A DIFFERENT POSITION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 MAZDA RX-8. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT'S NEIGHBOR NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR EMITTING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LIBERTY MAZDA (91 W SERVICE RD, HARTFORD, CT 06120), BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE, BUT WOULD CHARGE FOR LABOR BECAUSE THE REAR CROSS MEMBER WOULD NEED TO BE REMOVED TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL BACK TO ASSIST IN SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND 17V354000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,800.
FUEL PUMP NOZZLE IS CRACKED ALLOWING FUEL TO LEAK AND FUEL PRESSURE TO DROP CAUSE DRIVEABILITY PROBLEMS AND STALLING. MAZDA CLAIMS ITS THE RING AND GASKET ON THEIR RECALL BUT IT'S THE FUEL PUMP CRACKING. MY CAR STARTED BUCKING AND RUNNING ERRATICALLY. INSTALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR ROUGHLY ONE YEAR.
THERE HAS BEEN COUNTLESS TIMES WHERE I AM DRIVING AND MY STEERING JUST WANTS TO FAIL. OK SO NOW IT FAILS AND SOMETIMES, WITHOUT WARNING, JERKS MY WHEEL ONE DIRECTION. IF I AM NOT PAYING ATTENTION I COULD EASILY SIDESWIP ANOTHER CAR. IT HAS DONE IT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH AND I HAVE HIT THE CENTER MEDIUM BENDING MY RIM AND DESTROYING MY TIRE. I HAVE BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN NEVER GET IT WITH THE LIGHT ON. I HAVE PAID FOR TWO DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOS THE ISSUE. THE ONE TIME I GOT IT IN THEY WERE ABLE TO SEE THE LIGHT BUT ONCE THEY PLUGGED THEIR STUFF IN IT DISAPPEARED. THEY THEN SAID THE TERMINALS JUST NEEDED TO GET CLEANED CHARGING ME FOR THAT AND LESS THEN 1 DAY LATER THE ISSUE WAS BACK. SOMETIMES IT ALSO DOES JUST FAIL WHEN SITTING STATIONARY AS WELL AND THE WHEEL JUST STARTS TURNING ITSELF AND EVENTUALLY THE LIGHT COMES ON. PLEASE HELP IN FIXING THIS ISSUE.
MULTIPLE TROUBLE CODES ALL AT ONCE AFTER NOT HAVING ANY TROUBLE CODES AFTER A LONG PERIOD. AS OF NOW 56,000 ORIGINAL MILES. TRACTION CONTROL IMPROPERLY FUNCTIONING CAUSING VEHICLE,S MAXIMUM SPEED TO 3 MPH. MULTIPLE MISFIRE,S WITH NEW SPARK PLUG, NEW SPARK PLUG COIL PACKS AND NEW SPARK PLUG WIRES. GASOLINE LEAK NOT YET NARROWED DOWN TO SPECIFIC LOCATION. NO ENGINE POWER AFTER SHIFTING TO 2ND GEAR. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON HOWEVER WILL GO OUT FOR NO MORE THAN 2 DAYS. VERY STRONG GASOLINE ODOR INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AFTER STARTUP. LOSS OF ENGINE COMPRESSION. GOODNESS KNOWS WHAT IS NEXT!!!
PASSENGER SIDE DASH NEAR AIRBAG AREA (ABOVE GLOVE BOX VISUALLY) IS CRACKING HORIZONTALLY AND VERTICALLY. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY OF THE PASSENGER, PREMATURE RUPTURE OF AIRBAG, RANDOM DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAG. GARAGE KEPT CAR. CRACK HORIZONTAL HAS OVER TIME PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. VERTICAL CRACK BEGAN 12.13.16. IN GARAGE. HAVE APPOINTMENT WITH MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR 16V-354-BUT RECALL PAPERWORK DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE AREA(S) OF DASH INCLUDED WITH REPAIR THAT WILL RESOLVE ISSUE AND POTENTIAL HAZARDS-INCLUDING ENCASEMENT OF AIRBAG. RECALL NOTICE DOES NOT ARTICULATE POTENTIAL PARTS ASSOCIATED. "PASSENGER FRONTAL AIR BAG INFLATOR" IS ALL DESCRIBED.
VEHICLE MILEAGE UNDER 100,000. HAS HOT START ISSUE, LOW COMPRESSION. ENGINE WARRANTY SHOULD BE MET BY MILEAGE AND NOT BY YEARS. I AM REQUESTING RECALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ABOVE ISSUE. THANK YOU

AFTER THE REPAIR, THE DASHBOARD BEGAN TO CRACK IN THE LOCATION WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, WENT TO SHIFT UP INTO A HIGHER GEAR AND UPON DEPRESSION THE CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY SNAPPED AND BROKE PREVENTING ME FROM DISABLING THE TRANSMISSION AND ALLOWING THE TRANSMISSION TO GO INTO THE NEUTRAL OR ANY OTHER POSITION. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 65MPH AND MY CAR HAS ONLY 46,135 MILES ON IT
ON SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2016 I HAD STOPPED TO VACUUM OUT MY CAR AT A CAR WASH ON HIGHWAY 11 IN ATTALLA, AL. UPON LEAVING THE CAR WASH I TURNED LEFT ONTO PLEASANT VALLEY RD AT A SLOW SPEED IN FIRST GEAR. AS I WAS TURNING I SHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR I HEAR A BREAKING NOISE AND THE STEERING WHEEL ABRUPTLY SPUN TO THE LEFT AS THE CAR WENT IN A DEEP DITCH FLIPPING ONTO ITS ROOF, THEN HITTING A SMALL CULVERT AND LANDING ON IT'S SIDE. AS I WAS INSPECTING THE VEHICLE TO SEE WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED, THE PASSENGER LOWER CONTROL HAD BROKEN AND THE BALL JOINT HAD SEPARATED FROM THE CONTROL ARM.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
PCM FLASH
THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING HAS A CONNECTION DIRECTLY UNDER THE COOLANT OVERFLOW. COOLANT CAUSES THE CONNECTION TO GO BAD, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY POWER STEERING WOULD COMPLETELY CUT OUT. ALMOST CAUSED ME TO BE IN AN ACCIDEN. AND FROM WHAT I READ ONLINE IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. I DO BELIEVE THIS TO BE A HUGE SAFETY RISK.

TAKATA RECALL AFTER COMPLETING THE "INTERIM REPAIR" THE CARS POWER STEERING WILL INTERMITTENTLY GO OUT WITHOUT WARNING, OR PULL TO THE RIGHT ELECTRONICALLY AND FORCEFULLY WITH NO NOTICE, THIS IS A SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AS, IN ADDITION TO THE CAR PULLING HARD RIGHT WITHOUT NOTICE, SOMETIMES WHILE CORRECTING FOR THE PULL THE POWER STEERING COMES ON WITHOUT NOTICE FORCING THE STEERING CORRECTION TO SWERVE LEFT. ALSO THE ABS AND TCL LIGHTS TURN ON AN OFF INTERMITTENTLY SINCE THE 'INTERIM REPAIR' . THE POWER-STEERING WILL GO IN AND OUT WHILE STOPPED, IN MOTION IN EITHER CITY OR HIGHWAY, AND WHILE GOING IN A STRAIGHT LINE OR WHILE TURNING. ' THIS IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE
TAKATA RECALL. TRAFFIC CAME TO A HALT ON THE FREEWAY. I STOPPED AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY REAR ENDED AT HIGH SPEED CAUSING THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. EITHER THE AIR BAG ITSELF OR A PROJECTILE INJURED MY EYE. THE SKIN ON MY EYELID WAS TORN REQUIRING 7 STITCHES. THIS WAS EXTREMELY TRAUMATIC AND I WANTED TO BE SURE THIS INCIDENT WAS INCLUDED IN THE INVESTIGATION.
I HAVE HAD MY ELECTRONICALY ASSISTED STEERING GO OUT ON ME AND POSE A SERIOUS RISK TO ME AND OTHERS WHILE I DRIVE. THIS WAS 1ST NOTICED WITH A SLIGHT SHUTTER OR KICKBACK WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, WHILE I DID NOTIFY THE DEALERSHIP; THEY TOLD ME THAT UNLESS THERE WAS A CODE THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. THIS WAS AFTER IT WAS ALREADY REPLACED WITH A RE-MANUFACTURED ONE. WHEN I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE TOW GUY EVEN STATED TO THE DEALER THAT THE STEERING INDICATOR LIGHT WAS ON. BUT WHEN THE CAR WAS STARTED AT THE DEALER THE LIGHT WAS NOT ON. I'VE HAD TO DRIVE THIS WAY FOR A WHILE NOW AND IT HAS BECOME WORSE TO WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND IS HARD TO TURN, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE 80% OF THE TIME I DRIVE.
RECALL 15V382: RECEIVED LETTER FROM MAZDA DEC 2015 INSTRUCTING TO MAKE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. CONTACTED DEALER 12-28-15, TOLD THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND DEALER DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE RECEIVED. FOLLOWED UP BY CALLING MAZDA CUSTOMER SERVICE 800 NUMBER AND WAS TOLD THAT PARTS BEGAN BEING SHIPPED TO DEALERS SINCE NOV 2015; HOWEVER, NOT YET TO ILLINOIS REGION. I ASKED THE REPRESENTATIVE IF THEY KNEW OF OTHER DEALERSHIPS IN THE AREA WHICH HAD THE PART OR AN ESTIMATED DATE OF WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE. MAZDA REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CALL BACK IN MID JAN TO FOLLOW UP WITH AN ESTIMATED DATE OF PART AVAILABILITY. SO WHY WAS I CONTACTED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE THIS LIFE THREATENING DEFECT CORRECTED IF THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE?! FURTHERMORE HOW CAN THE COMPANY, OR ITS DEALERSHIPS, NOT EVEN HAVE INFORMATION TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE FOR WHEN THE RECALL CAN BE ADMINISTERED?

THE CONTACT LATER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V345000 (AIR BAGS) AND 15V382000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME TO RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS NOT ABLE TO SUPPLY A PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THE FRONT PASSENGERS SIDE AIR BAG FAILURE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PART MIGHT BECOME AVAILABLE FOR THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THIS INVOLVES THE ELECTRICALLY ASSISTED STEERING. WHILE HAVING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT COVERED THE PART THE DEALER KEPT SAYING THAT THERE WASN'T AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING, EVEN AFTER I HAD SHOWED THEM HOW TO MANUALLY DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE; AND THAT THEY WOULDN'T BE PAYING FOR IT BUT THE WARRANTY WOULD. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT KEEPS GETTING WORSE THE STEERING INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON AND THE ISSUE IS CONSTANT. WHETHER AT A STAND STILL, DRIVING, OR TURNING. THE WHEEL LITERALLY LOCKS UP AND REQUIRES YOU TO USE FORCE TO BRAKE IT FREE, WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY COUNTER ACT THE EXTREME BREAKING FORCE (ROTATIONAL) THAT YOU APPLIED SO YOU DON'T SIDE SWIPE ANOTHER CAR. (THIS IS NOT JUST FROM THE ELECTRICAL ASSIST NOT WORKING BUT THE RACK ITSELF) WHEN YOU DO COUNTER THE FORCE, NOW YOUR GOING THE OTHER WAY DEPENDING ON THE ORIGINAL FORCE. THIS CAN AND MAKES IT SEEM TO YOU AND OTHERS THAT YOU SNAPPING THE CAR, EXTREMELY QUICKLY IN YOUR LANE FOR NO REASON. BUT ALSO DUE TO THE FORCE AND SPEED MAKES THE CAR WANT TO BREAK TRACTION AND SPIN OUT. ANOTHER INSTANCE IS WHERE YOU HAVE LITTLE (STILL MANUAL) FORCE ON THE WHEEL AND THEN THE TEETH OF THE GEAR SEEM TO JUMP OR BOUNCE FROM 1 TO THE OTHER WHICH LEADS TO A QUICK SWAYING OF THE CAR NOT QUITE SNAPPING. AND FINALLY NOW AND RECENTLY THE ELECTRICAL ASSIST SEEMS TO BE KICKING IN AND ADDING MORE TURN TO THE WHEEL. SO WHEN YOU THINK YOU'VE FIXED THE SWAYING FORCES THE ELECTRICAL ASSIST ADDS MORE FORCE AND IT THROWS YOU OFF ON HOW MUCH OR LESS FORCE YOU HAVE TO USE SO THAT YOU DON'T TAKE OUT ANOTHER VEHICLE THESE KINDS OF THINGS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND NEED TO BE FIXED, SO THAT NO ONE GETS HURT. I HAVE HAD MANY CLOSE INSTANCES NOT HITTING PPLS ALSO I AM UNABLE TO GET MY STATE INSPECTION OR A PROPER ALIGNMENT OF THE VEHICLE SO THIS IS PUTTING WEAR ON MY TIRES AND I AM UNABLE TO SELL THE VEHICLE

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NECK AND BACK PAIN THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED AND WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AFTER THE CRASH. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V345000 (AIR BAGS) AND 15V382000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL NOTICES FROM MAZDA REGARDING REPAIRS NEEDED TO AIR BAGS. I HAVE CALLED TWO DEALERSHIPS. ONE WOULDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE THE RECALL AND THE OTHER WOULD NEVER CALL ME BACK FOR AN APPOINTMENT. I CALLED MAZDA AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK WITHIN 2 BUSINESS DAYS, BUT THEY NEVER CALLED. I WAS ON HWY 13 IN MINNESOTA AND BARELY GOT CONTROL OF MY SPEED (WAS BARELY ABLE TO MAINTAIN USE OF THE CLUTCH) IT SAT UNTIL I COULD GET IT REPAIRED, THE SAME PEDAL IS NOW CRAKING IN ANOTHER SPOT, WORKING ON GETTING IT REPAIRED BEFORE IT BREAKS AGAIN, THIS TIME WILL REINFORCE IT.

THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
CRACKS IN THE DASH IMMEDIATELY ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WHICH IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ISSUE. IT SEEMS THAT A LARGE NUMBER OF RX8 EXPERIENCE CRACKING IN THE SAME SPOT ON THE DASH, GENERALLY FOLLOWING AN "H" SHAPE. REPORTS ARE THAT THE CRACKS FOLLOW THE AIRBAG MODULE ASSEMBLY UNDERNEATH THE DASH, AND THE CRACKS FOLLOW THE SEAM THAT WOULD BE CREATED IN AN IMPACT FOR THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. IN MY CASE IT BEGAN WITH A 4" LEFT TO RIGHT CRACK. IN 2015 A RECALL WAS PERFORMED INVOLVING A TEMPORARY AIRBAG FIX UNTIL A PERMANENT FIX COULD BE DESIGNED. AFTER THIS INTERIM AIRBAG RECALL WAS PERFORMED, THE CRACKS INTENSIFIED. JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE THAT THE "FINAL" AIRBAG FIX IS READY TO BE PERFORMED AT THE DEALER WHICH WITH ALL THE REMOVAL AND JOSTLING OF THE DASH TO MAKE THE FINAL AIRBAG REPAIR, WILL PROBABLY CREATE MORE CRACKS. THE RECALL WAS DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY THAT AIRBAG PARTS COULD BECOME PROJECTILES AND CAUSE INJURY. WOULD NOT A POORLY DESIGNED DASH SIMPLY BREAK INTO PIECES UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND BECOME PROJECTILES AND INJURY? NUMEROUS RX8 OWNERS ARE SEEING NEARLY IDENTICAL H SHAPED CRACKS.
I WAS SLOWING DOWN AT AN INTERSECTION AND PUSHED IN THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND SLOW DOWN. WHEN I DID THIS THE CLUTCH PEDAL SNAPPED AND WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I WAS UNABLE TO USE THE CLUTCH TO SHIFT AT THIS POINT. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH THAT I WAS ON A DOWNHILL SLOPE SO I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR AND GET ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO DRIVE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME, BUT I WAS STALLED IN TRAFFIC UNTIL I DID GET THE SPEED I NEEDED TO GET INTO GEAR. *TR

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND WHEN I WANTED TO TAKE MY EXIT I NOTICED THAT MY POWER STEERING (ASSISTED STEERING) GAVE OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR PRECONDITION THAT IT WAS FAILING. THE STEERING WAS REALLY HEAVY AND ALMOST MADE ME CRASH INTO A DIVIDER, WHICH REALLY SCARED ME. I THEN HAD TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY HOME WITH OUT ANY POWER STEERING. I HAVE THUS SPENT SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS AT THE MECHANIC SO THEY CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE COMPUTER MODULE THAT CONTROLS THE POWER STEERING AND IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC DIRECTED ME HERE TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE THEY SAID IT IS A COMMON FAULT IN THIS CAR AND SHOULD BE BROUGHT UP TO MAZDA'S ATTENTION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 05V325000 (SUSPENSION) AND 05V317000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. YOUR ORGANIZATION'S BOILER PLATE RESPONSES THAT I HAVE RECEIVED ARE UNACCEPTABLE. I EXPECT THIS ISSUE TO BE FULLY ADDRESSED AND MY AFFECTED AIR BAGS TO BE REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE FIRST REGISTERED IN CA, A HOT AND HUMID STATE.
