ON FEBRUARY 9TH, DURING MY MORNING COMMUTE ON THE INTERSTATE THE CAR LOST POWER TO THE DRIVETRAIN. MESSAGE THAT DISPLAYS WAS "COLLISION ASSIST PLUS INOPERATIVE" ALONG WITH CRUISE CONTROL INOPERATIVE. WITH AN AMBER ESP LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THERE WAS NO ENGINE LIGHT ON. WHEN THIS MESSAGE APPEARED THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE (LIMP MODE). IN AVOIDANCE TO BEING IN A REAR END COLLISION I QUICKLY PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED BACK ON. INOPERATIVE MESSAGE, LIMP MODE AND ESP LIGHT WAS CLEARED. I CALLED DEALER TO NOTIFY. MY THOUGHT WAS THE BATTERY IS A DUD (WAS REPLACED THE DAY PRIOR), THE CAR NEEDS A SOFTWARE REBOOT DUE TO THE NEW BATTERY OR CAR WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE "MEMORY SAVER" CORRECTLY. OR THE SENSORS WERE DIRTY. SO I DID THE EASIEST. I WASHED THE CAR. THIS PROBLEM CONTINUED TO HAPPEN 5-6 TIMES MORE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS STALLING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65-75 MPH. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS & LIFE THREATENING. NO ENGINE PROBLEMS APPARENT. SEEMS TO BE RADAR OR SOFTWARE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, I FOUND MANY OTHER WITH THIS SAME ISSUE ON NHTSA. I ATTACHED A PICTURE OF CAR SHOWING MESSAGE WITH NO POWER. MY SEATBELT WAS OFF AS I WAS ON SIDE OF ROAD TRYING TO GET TO GAS STATION. THIS ISSUE IS CLEARED BY TURNING CAR ON / OFF. THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN HOURS OR A DAY LATER, LOSS OF POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. COAST OVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MERCEDES-BENZ C300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER MERCEDES-BENZ OF LOS ANGELES (1801 S FIGUEROA ST, LOS ANGELES, CA 90015, (213)425-3100) AND THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000.
THERE IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THE 2015 M274 MERCEDES ENGINE REGARDING THE WRIST PINS. MERCEDES HAS ISSUED NUMEROUS INTERNAL SERVICE BULLETINS ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE ENGINES WERE MANUFACTURED WITH WRIST PINS WITH TOO MUCH TOLERANCE THAT SLAP AGAINST THE PISTON WHEN OPERATING THAT COULD LEAD TO PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURES. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON ONLINE FORUMS OF PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURES (PRE 100K MILES). I CONTACTED MERCEDES AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THE REPAIR IS WELL OVER $8,000 AND THE AVERAGE PERSON JUST CAN NOT AFFORD IT. YOU DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM BASED ON CHATTER DURING DECELERATION. PLEASE MAKE MERCEDES MAKE THIS RIGHT AND FIX THE AFFECTED CARS THE RIGHT WAY. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR AND I AM NOW IN THE HOLE OVER $20,000
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY MY MERCEDES BENZ C300 2015 WITH 37000 MILES ,ENGINE BROKE, AND YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING THAT WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. THE MECHANIC IS SAYING IT IS A WRIST PIN AND A CRACKED #1 PISTON AND IT IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE ON THAT CAR AND MERCEDES REFUSES TO RECALL OR FIX THE PROBLEM IM GOING TO LEAVE A LINK WITH ONE OF THE MANY WEBPAGES WITH AL LOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT PROBLEM. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ABOUT STEERING HARDER WHEN ON LOWER SPEED, EVERY OIL LEVEL LOOKS TO BE PERFECT.
GAS LEAK IN FUEL LINE, WHILE RECEIVING AN OIL CHANGE FROM A LICENSED MECHANIC, HE BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT, THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING FROM THE FUEL LINE AND SHOWED (FUEL LINE SOAKED WITH GASOLINE DIRECTLY UNDER THE ENGINE), I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN USING THE AC THE STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE COMES THROUGH THE VENTS.
My boyfriend and I were driving my 2015 MB C400 down the road in November 2020 and it was a beautiful day out so we decided we would open the sunroof to get some fresh air. I was driving so my boyfriend pressed the button for the sunroof to open. As the sunroof was opening, there was a cracking and popping sound coming from above us. We immediately pulled over at a gas station to see what was happening. Upon getting out of the car and looking closer at the sunroof, we noticed many cheap plastic components that were just broken and crumbled laying inside the sunroof tract. We removed the broken pieces and then tried to close the sunroof several times. T Each time, the sunroof went into the closed position BUT immediately went straight back to the popped up position and would not completely close again. I took my car to the MB dealership in Athens, Ga where they told me it would be almost $2500 to repair which I did not feel as if I should be held responsible for as I had just purchased the car in January 2020 only 11 months earlier. I was in fear that the sunroof would detach from the car and cause serious injury to any motorist behind me. I also have a [XXX] son who is now scared to ride in my car!! After doing much research on this issue, I have found that this is truly a common problem with this MB model. I have reached out to the corporate office a few times and they only tell me that there is no active recalls with my cars VIN. It is completely unacceptable that MB is fully aware of this issue yet they continue to disregard the potential harm to other motorists. Please help!!! EVERY TIME I START MY CAR IT SMELLS LIKE GAS AND IT'S SO STRONG TO THE POINT WHERE IT GIVES ME HEADACHES. ALSO I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND THE ROADS WERE WET FROM PREVIOUS RAIN AND I ALMOST DIED AND HYDROPLANED ON THE FREEWAY. EVEN IF IT'S A SMALL BIT OF RAIN MY CAR STARTS SHAKING AS IF I DON'T HAVE CONTROL. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR AND I JUST GOT THE CAR A MONTH AGO.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON/ FOWL ORDER COMING FROM AC UNIT/ LOUD GAS SMELL WHEN START IGNITION IN THE MORNING
The car suddenly glitched and locked itself—with my dog, my purse, my phone, everything—inside on an extremely hot day. There was no one around, and it was terrifying. I had opened the passenger door for my dog to climb in, and as I walked around to the driver’s side, the doors somehow locked on their own. Panic set in immediately. My dog, my phone, and my purse were all inside, and I had no way to call for help. We had just finished a walk, and then this happened out of nowhere. I had to run around searching for someone who could help. Eventually, I found a stranger who called the police, and they had to break the door open because it was over 100 degrees outside. I was terrified my dog would pass out from the heat. There were no warnings, no alerts, no messages. If it weren’t for that random stranger who happened to be there and willing to help, I don’t know how I would have gotten my dog out. It’s a reminder of the kindness of strangers, but the glitching car was truly terrifying and not ok.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 C250 COUPE, I HAD TO BRAKE HARD AS I WAS TRYING TO AVERT STOPPED HEAVY TRAFFIC. WHEN I SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS, THE STEERING WHEEL, COLUMN AND ENTIRE VEHICLE LOCKED UP. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL ENTIRELY. AS A RESULT, MY VEHICLE SLIDE INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. BECAUSE BOTH THE STEERING AND BRAKES LOCKING, I WAS UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO AVOID THE STOPPED TRAFFIC. THE AIRBAGS ALSO DID NOT DEPLOY AS THEY SHOULD HAVE.
I CAN SMELL FUEL NEAR THE PUMP BEFORE WE START CAR IN COLD IN THE MORNING AND THIS SMELL CAN BE SMELLED UNTIL THE ENGINE WORKING INTO THE NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. FUEL IS A VERY CRITICAL SAFETY PROBLEM AND USUALLY WE CANNOT TAKE NOTICE OF THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM.
SUNROOF NO LONGER CLOSED SHAKES AND RATTLES, SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE DURING A POSSIBLE ROLLOVER
WHEN DRIVING ON THE BRIDGE THE PIECE OF MY SUNROOF FLEW OFF I PULLED OVER IT WAS RAINING AND THE INSIDE OF MY CAR GOT WET THE MOTOR ON MY SUNROOF NO LONGER WORKS AS THE WATER LEAKED THROUGH. I PICKED UP AS MUCH OF THE PIECES AS I COULD BUT THE PART WAS RUN OVER.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THE FEATURE WOULD ONLY OPERATE IF THE VEHICLE HAD AN ACTIVE GPS SYSTEM. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASE WITH THE USE OF THE VOICE COMMAND AND IT SHOULD REMAIN. *JS
I STARTED EXPERIENCING LOUD WIND NOISE COMING FROM THE TOP OF MY CAR NEAR MY WINDSHIELD WHEN DRIVING OVER 40MPH. I PULLED OVER AND EXAMINED THE AREA AND FOUND THAT THE TOP LEFT GLASS PANEL IN FRONT OF THE SUNROOF ON MY 2015 MERCEDES BENZ C300 WAS SLIGHTLY PROPPED UP. IT SEEMED TO BE A POSSIBLE SEAL OR GLUE ISSUE CAUSING THE GLASS PANEL TO BE SLIGHTLY LOOSE AND ALLOWING AIR IN. I CALLED MERCEDES AND MADE THE NEXT AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE A FEW DAYS OUT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, I BEGUN TO HEAR THE WIND NOISE AGAIN BUT FOLLOWED BY A LOUD RIP FROM THE ROOF OF MY CAR THIS TIME BUT DID NOT SEE ANYTHING IN SIGHT. WHEN I PULLED OVER, THE GLASS PANEL WAS COMPLETELY MISSING AND WENT FLYING SOMEWHERE ON THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING A ROAD HAZARD. IT WAS TORN OFF THE CAR AND THE ROOF OF THE CAR IS NOW EXPOSED.
THE VEHICLE WAS THANKFULLY NOY IN MPTION WHEN MY PANARAMA SUNROOF AND THE SHADES FAILED. THE SHADES I UNDERSTAND ITS NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM, BUT THE SUNROOF NOT BEING ABLE TO HOLD IN PLACE AS IT OPENS IS DIFFERENT. WHEN THE SUNROOF OPENED, THE REAR OF THE ROOF WAS NOT IN PLACE AND SHAKY. WHEN I TRIED TO CLOSE, IT HAD NOT LOCKED ITSELF RIGHT BACK IN PLACE, WHERE I HAD TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC JUST TO HAVE IT SHUT TO AVOID THE RAINSTORM YESTERDAY. I RECENTLY DID SOME RESEARCH AND READ THROUGH SOME ARTICLES, HAD A FRIEND OF MINE TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND IT SEEMS TO BE VERY SIMILAR, ALMOST THE SAME AS THE RECALL THEY HAVE DONE ON OTHER YEAR MAKE FOR THE PANARAMA ROOF.
THIS CAR LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR WAS ON WORKING FINE DRIVING ALONG THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL DID NOTHING AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THE ENGINE WAS NOT GETTING GAS. THE ELECTRICAL AND EVERYTHING ELSE WAS ON IN THE CAR EXCEPT THE ENGINE. THE SYSTEM IN THIS CAR HAS A DOUBLE FUEL TANK THAT ONLY WORKS ON ONE SIDE. THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM IS FAULTY. THE MANAGER AT MERCEDES TOLD ME HIMSELF THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW IN THIS CAR. THERE IS NO REASON WHY A CAR WITH 24,000 MILES SHOULD HAVE BROKEN DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. FAULTY AND HORRIBLE WORKMANSHIP ON A SUPPOSED LUXURY VEHICLE.
FRONT OF GLASS SUNROOF FLEW OFF WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY - RECALL EXISTS FOR OLDER VERSIONS OF MY CAR. MINE IS A 2015
ON JULY 19, 2020, I WAS DRIVING MY MB C300, ON HIGHWAY 301 IN BRADENTON FLORIDA. SUDDENLY, I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. I WAS TERRIFIED. ONCE, I CALMED DOWN AND WAS ABLE TO GET TO A SAFE LOCATION, UPON EXAMINATION, I DISCOVERED THAT MY SUNROOF HAD SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE OF ANY TYPE OF FOREIGN OBJECT CAUSING THE SUNROOM TO SHATTER. FORTUNATELY, WHEN THE LOUD BANG OCCURRED, I HAD THE PRESENCE OF MIND TO NOT LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR IN WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, IF THE SUNROOF HAD BEEN PARTIALLY OPENED THE GLASS CHARDS COULD HAVE CAUSED SIGNIFICANT INJURY. THIS IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE. MERCEDES BENZ IS A LUXURY CAR MANUFACTURER, KNOWN FOR SUPERIOR ENGINEERING. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

MY PANARAMA SUNROOF JUST FAIL AND ALMOST COLLAPSE ON ME. MY CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD. I WAS DRIVING AND IT APPEAR THE GLASS WAS COMING OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I'M AFRAID THAT THE GLASS WILL POP OUT AND FALL ON ME. THIS IS SERIOUS. IT COULD HARM ME IF IT FALLS ON ME.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
Panoramic glass sliding plastic brackets broke off while driving at 25-35 mph Lifting up the glass off the vehicle. Quick reaction saved the large detached glass from flying off into the roadway injuring or killing someone. Vehicle was 5 years old and out of warranty. Dealer estimated repair cost at $2500

THE 7 SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD FROM 1 GEAR TO 2 GEAR TO 3 GEAR. FROM 3 GEAR ALL THE WAY TO 7 GEAR IS VERY SMOOTH. ALSO THE SAME WAY AROUND WHEN YOU DOWNSHIFT FROM 3 GEAR TO 2 GEAR TO 1 GEAR. THE SLOWING DOWN IS VERY HARSH AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THAT THE CAR IS GOING TO A FULL STOP. ALL THE POWER AND SPEED CUT DOWN A FEW SECONDS BEFORE FULL STOP. I HAVE PERSONALLY TRIED TO DO THE RESET WITH KEY AND PEDAL TRICK BUT IT ONLY WORKS FOR A DAY OR TWO AND GOES RIGHT BACK TO THE ROUGH SHIFTING.

I CAN NO LONGER OPEN THE SUNROOF OR IT WILL CATCH WIND AS IF IT'S ABOUT TO DETHATCH. DRIVING THE SUNROOF IS SO LOOSE THAT IT WILL NOT CLOSE WITHOUT THE HELP OF HOLDING IT DOWN SO IT LOCKS INTO PLACE. BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER LAST SUMMER AND THEY BRUSHED IT OFF AND TRIED TO CHARGE ME OVER $2,000 TO GET IT FIXED. THEY SAID "COMMON ISSUE" I WOULD PRODUCE PICTURES, HOWEVER MY CAR IS CURRENTLY SITTING AT A MERCEDES FACTORY SHOP GETTING ITS OTHER SAFETY ISSUES TAKEN CARE OF.
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE B AND WAS TOLD THE LOW PRESSURE FUEL LINES WERE LEAKING. IT IS A FIRE HAZARD, SO IT CANNOT BE IGNORED.THE CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED. IT COST ME $750 TO REPAIR, AND MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. *TR
In March of 2020 I was driving home from work. I stopped at a red light. When it turned green, I proceeded to step on the gas. My car started making noises and shaking as I drove. My check engine light came on. I was able to pull over without incident. My vehicle has under 48k miles on it! I had it towed to a Firestone facility by my house. They replaced spark plugs and ignition coil 1 and 2. They said it was still severely misfiring. Cylinder 1 must have internal damage and should be towed to the dealer. They gave me a spark plug they removed that had significant damage to the top part. They said something must have impacted it with significant force. I then had the vehicle towed to a Mercedes Benz Dealership. They said they inspected with a scope and found piston material missing, can see ring exposed and have damage to cylinder wall. Will need to replace engine, turbo charger, cat converter intake manifold to repair. They wanted $18k to repair. I did some research and found out that the 2015 Mercedes C class was the first year they switched from 6 cylinder to 4 cylinder turbo charge engine. These models have had a significant amount of engine problems and failures, the manufacturer is aware of. Many of these occurred in cylinder 1 along with wrist pins issues and others. I found my situation wasn't unique. I then filed a complaint with The BBB in Georgia. MBUSA offered me $3k towards the repair or purchase of a new vehicle. I declined the offer. I only wanted my vehicle repaired. I wasn't alone in this situation. These issues are easily found online. My vehicle has since been sitting in my driveway for almost a year and a half. I've been making my monthly car and insurance payments on a vehicle I can't drive. I recently went to the Mercedes dealership and they will give me $5k for the vehicle towards a trade, leaving me with $15k negative equity towards the purchase of a vehicle. Mercedes should stand behind their products and do the right thing

CRANKCASE BREATHER HOSE IS LEAKING FUEL. FUEL LINE IS LEAKING FUEL. THIS CREATES GAS SMELL IN THE CAR. THIS IS ALSO UNSAFE DUE TO THE FUEL LEAKAGE. LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE CARS. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL.
I WAS DRIVING ON 02/13/2020, ABOUT TO CROSS THE ARKANSAS/TENNESSEE BRIDGE WHEN MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION. THE ENTIRE PANORAMIC SUNROOF SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE HAS 67K MILES. I NOTICED A GASOLINE ODOR COMING FROM THE AC A MONTH AGO SINCE THEN, THE ODOR INTENSITY HAS DRASTICALLY INCREASED. THERE WAS A RECALL ON 3/10/2015 FOR VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN APRIL 7, 2014, AND JULY 25, 2014, FOR AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL DELIVERY MODULE AND THE TANK, MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED JANUARY 2015, HOWEVER, I BELIEVE THE SAME ISSUE IS CAUSING THE GASOLINE FUMES I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING IN MY VEHICLE AC SYSTEM.

A FEW DAYS AGO, I BEGAN SMELLING A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE WHEN I DROVE MY CAR. THIS WENT ON FOR SEVERAL DAYS, SO I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP. AS SOON AS I DESCRIBED MY PROBLEM TO THE SERVICE STAFF AND BEFORE THEY CHECKED ME IN, THEY ASKED ME IF THE MODEL WAS A MERCEDES C300. WHEN I REPLIED THAT IT WAS, THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD SEEN THIS PROBLEM QUITE OFTEN ON THIS MODEL. GIVEN THE LOW MILEAGE OF 23,115 MILES ON MY CAR, A FUEL LINE LEAK WOULD NOT NORMALLY BE EXPECTED TO OCCUR. CONSIDERING THAT FACT ALONG WITH THE REPORTED COMMONALITY OF THIS ISSUE, I AM CONCERNED THAT, FOR OTHER DRIVERS WITH THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM, THE SYMPTOMS MAY INVOLVE MORE THAN JUST THE SCENT OF GASOLINE AND RESULT IN CAR FIRES OR ACCIDENTS. NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP NOR CORPORATE MERCEDES HAVE BEEN RESPONSIVE TO MY CONCERNS.

THE CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND SAYING IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE, COSTING ABOUT 13K. WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, THERE WAS NO SIGNS OF ENGINE PROBLEM, ENGINE LIGHT WASN'T ON. OUT OF NO WHERE, ENGINE LOCKED UP AND I HAD TO PUSH IT HOME.
WHILE I WAS TRAVELLING ON HIGHWAY, I GOT AN ALERT ABOUT COLLISION SYSTEM BEING INOPERABLE, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS INVESTIGATED AND WAS TOLD TO ME THAT I HAD AN ACCIDENT? I DID NOT. I AM THINKING IT WAS SOME KIND OF AN ELECTRICAL/RADAR SENSOR ISSUE? IT DID NOT AFFECT MY SPEED OR ABILITY TO ACCELERATE
