THE CAR KEYS WOULD NOT OPEN THE CAR DOORS OR THE TRUNK
2006 MERCEDES ML 350. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEMS. *LD *JS
WHILE DRIVING AT MOST ANY SPEED,TRANSMISSION PERIODICALLY GOES INTO NO GEAR OR A SINGLE GEAR (LOW OR A HIGHER GEAR) AND 'LIMP MODE' WITHOUT WARNING....SOMETIMES A "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT. VERY SCARY ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY. BOUGHT THE VEHICLE EARLIER THIS YEAR WITH 60,000 MILES ON IT...I AM 72 AND WIFE IS 71...SHE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE OF THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE DRIVE TRAIN. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO MERCEDES BENZ AS THE WOULD NOT SELL MY MY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THE PARTS TO REPAIR PROBLEM. MERCEDES SAYS THAT I NEED TO HAVE THE 722.9 TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY REPLACED AT $3,000 PERIOD. I HAVE READ OF A MYRIAD OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH OTHER OWNERS OF CARS WITH THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION....EVEN CLASS ACTION SUITS. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT MUST BE RESOLVED AND REPAIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I EVEN CALLED MERCEDES BENZ OF NORTH AMERICA AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVE SAID HE KNEW OF NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS MODEL OF TRANSMISSION. I ALSO READ THAT THEY ARE NOT CHANGING ANY PARTS....JUST REPROGRAMMING THE TRANSMISSION TO NOT GO INTO LIMP MODE AND NOT ACTIVATING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.....HOW CAN I INSURE THAT MY VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED CORRECTLY AND BE SAFE TO DRIVE?
EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED IN 2017 I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE DAY ONE. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ANY RECALLS ON THIS CAR WITH ALL THE WRONG THINGS WITH IT IT JOLTS OUT OF CONTROL IT'S SWERVES FROM SIDE TO SIDE IN THE POWER STEERING IS JUST A TOTAL MESS. WHEN I'M AT A STOP SIGN IT SUDDENLY STARTS SHAKING OUT OF NOWHERE AND THEN WITH THE CAR BEING IN PARK IS JOLTS BACK AND FORTH. I WENT TO A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT YESTERDAY I PARK MY CAR LIKE I NORMALLY WOULD NEXT TO YOU NOR I COME OUT THE CAR WON'T START THERE'S FLUID LEAKING AND I BELIEVE IT'S THE POWER STEERING. THIS CAR FEELS TOTALLY UNSAFE WHAT UP WRONG PURCHASE I MADE AND I'M NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO I CALLED MERCEDES AND THEY SAID THERE'S NO RECALL THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR PLEASE HELP I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO
2006 ML350 WITH ONLY 112,000 MILES ON IT THE VEHICLE, WENT INTO LIMP MODE WHILE ENTERING A MAJOR INTERSTATE HIGHWAY NEARLY CAUSING A TERRIFYING ACCIDENT. MB USA RESTRICTS THE REPAIR OF THIS "MFG DEFECT" AND IT MUST BE REPAIRED AT AN MB DEALERSHIP ONLY, TYPICALLY AT A COST OVER $2,000. THE PROBLEM WILL NOT GO AWAY UNLESS REPAIRED. I MADE MB USA AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THEY DENIED THAT ANY ISSUE EXISTS. I AM AWARE THOUGH, OF A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT OVER THE DEFECT IN THE 722-9-7GTRONIC-AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE LIMP MODE PREVENTS THE TRANSMISSION FROM UPSHIFTING OR DOWNSHIFTING. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, IF THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO LIMP MODE, THE ENGINE WILL RACE BUT THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF, TAKE THE KEY OUT OF IGNITION, PUT BACK IN, AND START CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MANY TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WITH OTHER CARS BLOWING THEIR HORN AT ME. THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO OTHER THAN SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART, THEN PUTTING IN GEAR. THIS IS HAPPENING TYPICALLY ABOUT 2-4 TIMES A DAY. THE PROBLEM TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS DRIVING, BUT NOT NOTICED UNTIL I SLOW DOWN AND ULTIMATELY COME TO A STOP (WITH EXPERIENCE I NOW AM AWARE THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT DOWNSHIFTING AND I KNOW THAT IT IS IN LIMP MODE, AND IF I HAVE TO STOP, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT HAVING TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTING THE CAR). AS I MENTIONED BEFORE, THIS STARTED HAPPENING ONLY OCCASIONALLY, BUT IS NOW HAPPENING 3-4 TIMES A DAY WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN.
SECOND YEAR OF THIS SAME COMPLAIN. THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM MENTION THAT THE MERCEDES SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF MY ISSUES. BUT THAT ISNT HAPPENING. MERCEDES JUST WANTS TO KEEP CHARGING ME . I LOOK UP THE DEFECTS OF THE CAR AND IT TELLS ME EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING
HEADLIGHT WIRING INSULATION IS CRACKING LEAVING THE WIRE EXPOSED. IF THE WIRES TOUCH IT COUID SHORT CIRCUIT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OR CAUSE A FIRE. MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN I NOTICED THE PROBLEM.
DRIVING 45MPH APPROACHING A STOP, I HIT THE BRAKES AND THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW. THEN THE CAR LURCHED AND ACCELERATED BY ITS SELF. I PUSHED THE BRAKE HARDER AND TRIED TO PUMP IT BUT NOTHING SLOWED THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKES FELT AS IF THEY WERE NOT WORKING AT ALL. VEHICLE CRASHED AT ABOUT 55MPH AND ROLLED SEVERELY INJURING THE DRIVER. NO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS, 77 DEGREES OUT, DRIVING ON A MILITARY INSTALLATION ROAD.
RUSTED AND LEAKING BREAK LINES ABOVE GAS TANK OF THE DRIVERS SIDE. RUSTED ALL THE ENGINE AREA. IT HAS HOLES JUST RIGHT ABOVE THE GAS TANK.
RUSTED STEEL BREAK LINES THAT TAKES BREAK FLUID TO REAR FROM THE ENGINE COMPANTMENT
MY CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER IN THE HIGHWAY, AND DIDN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE,CAUSING CAR TO HIGH RPM REV,GOING INTO LIMP MODE AND NOT ACCELERATE, ALMOST CAUSING MY FAMILY AND TO HAVE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY A SHOP WHICH STATED MY SPEED SENSOR CONDUCTOR PLATE IS DEFECTIVE...UPON DOING RESEARCH, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THIS IS COMMON DANGEROUS ISSUE ON THE 06 MERCEDES ML MODELS..MERCEDES EVEN HAS A CLASS ACTION SUITE AGAINST THEM DUE TO THIS ISSUE..
THERE IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THE MERCEDES BENZ 7G TRONIC 722.9 TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION TO, WITHOUT NOTICE, FAIL TO SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR WHICH CREATES A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING INCLUDING ENTERING THE FREEWAY AND ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. THE ISSUE IS WELL DOCUMENTED ON A NUMBER OF WEBSITE ON THE INTERNET WHICH INCLUDES SUPPORT GROUPS INCLUDING ONE ADVOCATING AND SOLICITING A CLASS ACTION SUIT IN THE STATE OF CA. THE NHTSA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT SO AS TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY INCLUDING THE LOSS OF LIFE. MB USA IS VERY MUCH AWARE OF THE ISSUE WHICH REQUIRES THE REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM). ADDING INSULT TO INJURY, MB RESTRICTS THE SALE OF THE TCM SO THAT THE REPAIR CAN ONLY BE MADE AT AN AUTHORIZED MB DEALERSHIP ADDING TO THE CONSUMER'S COST TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE ESTIMATE REPAIR COST IS $1,500 AT THE DEALERSHIP. COST ESTIMATES OUTSIDE OF THE DEALERSHIP, IF THE ITEM WAS ABLE TO BE PURCHASED, IS LESS THAN HALF THAT. I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER WHILE ENTERING I-91 IN CT JUST LAST WEEK WHEN THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY WENT INTO WHAT MB CALLS "LIMP MODE" WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE SPEED IS RESTRICTED TO 30 MPH IMMEDIATELY. THIS NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE WAS QUITE ALARMING. I CONTACTED MB USA AND THEY DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE THAT THE PROBLEM WAS AT ALL DUE TO DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURING. AS AN INDIVIDUAL CONSUMER WE HAVE NO RIGHTS IN THIS MATTER TO ELIMINATE THIS MANUFACTURERS SAFETY DEFECT WHILE MB RESTRICTS AND MONOPOLIZES THE REPAIR OF A PROBLEM THAT THEY CREATED. THE FAILURE OF THIS PART CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME REGARDLESS OF VEHICLE MILES. *TR
ON JAN. 6, 2017 NORTHBOUND ON HWY 52. DRIVERS SEAT HEATER HAD BEEN ON APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES WHEN I FELT A VERY HOT SPOT ON MY UPPER LEFT SIDE. THEN I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. THE SEAT HEATER HAD BURNED THROUGH THE UPHOLSTERY ON THE OUTBOARD BOLSTER OF THE DRIVERS SEAT AND STARTED BURNING THROUGH MY COAT.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I TOOK MY TRUCK IN THEY SAID IT WAS THE BALANCE SHAFT GEAR $7500 IN MD. I COULDN'T AFFORD IT SO I LEFT AND DID RESEARCH TO SEE IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS TO ALL MLS OR I JUST AVE BAD LUCK. I FOUND OUT THEY RECALLED THIS PART AND A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FILED AND APPROVED IN 2015. ITS TOO LATE TO CLAIM IT NOW, THERE WAS A TIME LIMIT WHICH I FEEL IS RIDICULOUS THAT'S LIKE PUTTING A TIME LIMIT ON SOMEONES LIFE BECAUSE OF A FAULTY PART MERCEDES KNEW ABOUT FOR A LONG TIME AND DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING. WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED WITHOUT HAVING TO COME OUT OF POCKET TO PAY OR TO GET A LAWYER TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAIN. SINCE THERE HAS BEEN MORE THAN ONE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FILED SHOULD SPEAK VOLUME AND WE SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. *TR
TURNED ON THE DRIVER SIDE HEATED CAR SEAT AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL. PULLED OVER AND FOUND IT HAD BURNED A HOLE THROUGH THE FOAM AND LEATHER ON THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT ABOUT 1" WIDE AND 2" LONG.

MAJEED SEIFI, ALLEGED A DEFECT IN BALANCE SHAFT SPROCKETS IN (V-6) ENGINES AND IDLE GEARS IN (V-8) ENGINES MODEL YEAR 2005-2007 MB THAT CAUSES THE GEARS TO WEAR PREMATURELY. PLAINTIFFS CONTEND ("MBUSA") HAD A DUTY TO DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION TO CONSUMERS AT THE TIME THEY PURCHASED THEIR VEHICLES. BASED ON CONDUCT, CLAIMS FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE NEW JERSEY CONSUMER FRAUD ACT, CALIFORNIA'S CONSUMER LEGAL REMEDIES ACT AND UNFAIR COMPETITION LAW.MBUSA HAS AGREED TO OFFER TO SETTLEMENT CLASS MEMBERS TO MAKE QUALIFIED REPAIRS MERCEDES BENZ ENGINE DEFECT CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT. DEFECTIVE GEARS WEAR OUT PREMATURELY, EXCESSIVELY, WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONS, THE 'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' REMAINS ILLUMINATED, AND THE CAR MISFIRES OR STOPS. TOLD IT WILL TAKE $7,000.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALL MY RECORDS. SPENT $5,000 IN 2015 FOR REPAIRS ALONE. PAID TO OWN A MB TO GET FORTY THOUSAND MILES OUT OF IT BEFORE IT NEEDS MOTOR WORK. MY ML350 ENGINE LIGHT SHOULD NOT BE ILLUMINATING AT <40,000 MILES ITS A DEFECTIVE MOTOR. CLEARLY A MANUFACTURE FACTORY DEFECT. $7000.00, TO GET A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OFF: MAJEED SEIFI,ET AL. V. MERCEDES BENZ PROVES MBUSA KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM. KNOWN MB 2006 ML350 INTERNAL PROBLEM (FACTORY DEFECT, LEMON ETC.) THAT WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME. NOT FROM NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, AND FROM NO FAULT OF MY OWN.
MY 2006 MERC ML350, BROKE DOWN ON ME 10/22/16, AS SOON AS I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY BECAUSE I WAS HEARING A CRACKLING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IN A LOCAL PARKING LOT TO AVOID EMBARRASSMENT. THIS VEHICLE IS ALWAYS NEEDING SOMETHING, AND AT THIS TIME IT WAS HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO PARK IT BECAUSE THE SERPENTINE (VBELT) HAD UNRAVELED ITS WAY FROM THE ALTERNATOR PULLEY!! THE LORD HAD SAVED MY LIFE! SAME YEAR IN MARCH FREMONT DEALERSHIP SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY AIR CONDENSOR BUT NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT MY BELT BEING WORN OR CRACKED OR ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTICED AT THAT PRESENT TIME. THEY MISINFORMED ME AT THAT TIME ABOUT THE VBELT NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AND TRIED TO SELL ME A AIR MASS SENSOR. MERCEDES KNOWS ABOUT VEHICLE 2006 YEAR AND ALL THE PARTS THAT ARE MALFUNCTIONING AND WONT LIFT A FINGER TO RECALL OR REIMBURSE OR PAY ENTIRELY. I WOULD HAVE DIED ON THE FREEWAY HAD THIS V BELT WOULD HAVE CAME OFF! TOOKBITVIN FOR REPAIRS AND THE DEALER IS REQUESTING $2350 TO REPLACE AIR CONDITION UNIT AND THEY WILL HAVE TO OPEN UP ALTERNATOR & ADJUST + VBELT. CAMPAIGN ANYONE OR BOTCOTT MBUSA!! *TR
AFTER DRIVING ONLY 30 MIN IN MORNING TRAFFIC W/SEAT HEAT ON, I SMELLED A BURNING SMELL AND THE HIP AREA OF THE SEAT WAS VERY HOT. PULLED OVER, TURNED CAR OFF, AND FOUND SEAT HEAT HAD BURNED THROUGH THE SEAT UPHOLSTERY MAKING A HOLE APPROX. 1" H X 1/2" W. QUESTION BELOW ASKS Y/N IF THERE WAS A FIRE. ANSWERED Y DUE TO BURNING; DID NOT SEE ANY FLAMES. USED SOME WATER ON IT IMMEDIATELY AND A FEW MINUTES LATER AT HOME TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO BURNING/SMOLDERING INSIDE THE SEAT. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND GOT BOTH CODES P0016 AND P0017. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN DEFECT BY MERCEDES BENZ FOR THE BALANCER SHAFT WORN SPROCKET ISSUE. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR, ALMOST THE COST OF THE VEHICLE! MBUSA PICKS AND CHOOSES WHO THEY WILL HELP? WOW, WISH I NEVER GOT THIS CAR!
THE BALANCE SHAFT ON MY ML350 HAS GONE BAD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A LOCAL STREET WHEN IT SUDDENLY STARTED TO STALL AND EVENTUALLY CUT OFF. THE STEERING WHEEL GOT STIFF AND I HAD TO FORCEFULLY TURN IT TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO START IT AGAIN IT WOULD ONLY REPEAT WHAT IT'S DONE BEFORE WHICH IS STALL AND CUT OFF. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC I WAS TOLD THAT THE BALANCE SHAFT IS BAD. MY MECHANIC ADVISED ME TO CALL MERCEDES TO SEE IF THEY WOULD FIX IT OUT OF GOOD FAITH BUT THAT GOT ME NO WHERE. THERE ARE COUNTLESS BLOGS ABOUT MERCEDES OWNERS WHO ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THE M272 ENGINE. A REP FOR MERCEDES ADMITTED TO ME THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT STILL REFUSES TO RECALL. THE REPAIR QUOTE IS @ ABOUT $5000 WHICH IS OUT OF MY RANGE SO THE VEHICLE REMAINS PARKED. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BUT THE TIME FRAME HAS EXPIRED BY THE TIME I PURCHASED THIS CAR.
LETTER FROM SENATOR NELSON RE CONSTITUENT RE 2006 ML MERCEDES BENZ SUV ML 350 RECALL ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST MERCEDES BENZ, DUE TO AN INFERIOR BALANCE SHAFT IN THE ENGINE. A NUMBER OF VEHICLES INCLUDING HIS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE REPAIR FOR THE VEHICLE ENDS ON JUNE 16, 2016. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED HE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE, BECAUSE HIS VEHICLE EXCEEDED 125,000 MILES. *JB
RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING AND MY CHECK ENGINE CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE MERCEDES-BENZ DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORTED THE BALANCE SHAFT AND INTAKE REPAIR WAS NEEDED. THE ISSUE IS THAT THERE WAS A LAWSUIT AGAINST MBUSA FOR FAULTY BALANCE SHAFTS. AT NO POINT IN TIME WAS I INFORMED OF THE CLAIM ON MY VEHICLE. I NEED ASSISTANCE IN HAVING MY VEHICLE REPAIRED BEFORE THE TIME EXPIRES. MB USA HAS DEFECTIVE PARTS AND THEY ARE NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE REPAIR.
MY CAR STARTED TO GIVE LESS POWER WHILE DRIVING INITIALLY AND THEN COUPLE OF DAYS THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE BALANCE SHAFT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THERE WAS A LAW SUIT AGAINST MB. THE SETTLEMENT IDENTIFIED MY CAR AS A CANDIDATE FOR A FUTURE REPAIR. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND NOTHING LIKE THIS WAS MENTIONED. I WAS TOLD TO PAY FULL PRICE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY,CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED,SOME DECREASE IN POWER. TOOK TO MB DEALER,PULLED THE CODE FOR CAM SHAFT SENSOR,POSSIBLY CAM SHAFT BALANCER.WAITING TO HEAR ABOUT COST & POTENTIAL FUTURE PROBLEMS.
"TAKATA RECALL". IN HOUSE WIRING,3RD BRAKE LIGHT, TURN MARKERS ,BRAKE LIGHTS ALL NON OPERATIONAL. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP PROBLEM STILL OCCURS!
RIGHT REAR TAILLIGHT HAD AN ELECTRICAL FIRE THAT STARTED IN THE WIRE HOUSING. THE CAR WAS PARKED (STATIONARY)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MERCEDES-BENZ ML350. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY AND THE ENGINE STALLED. OUR 2006 MERCEDES ML500 HAS HAD BOTH INTERNAL MECHANICAL LATCHES TO DOORS BREAK APART INSIDE THE FRONT DOORS AT DIFFERENT TIMES. WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT WHEN USE USE THE ELECTRONIC SWITCH TO OPEN THE VEHICLE DOORS, THEY UNLOCK OK BUT THE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE OR LOCK AFTER INITIAL OPENING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, YOU CANNOT CLOSE THE DOOR (THE LATCH IS BROKEN). THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING PROBLEM IF YOU HAVE TO DRIVE ANY DISTANCE TO GET TO A MERCEDES DEALER. OF COURSE THEY NEVER HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK. ON ONE OCCASION, I HAD TO TRY TO PHYSICALLY HOLD THE PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT DOOR CLOSED UNTIL WE COULD GET SOME ROPE TO TIE FROM ONE DOOR TO ANOTHER. FORTUNATELY WE NOW HAVE A ROPE IN THE CAR AT ALL TIMES. MY WIFE WAS ALONE IN THE VEHICLE YESTERDAY AND HAD TO TIE THE DIVERS DOOR TO THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. FORTUNATELY SHE WORKS 1 1/2 MILE FROM THE LOCAL MERCEDES DEALER. IT WAS STILL VERY SCARY FOR HER BECAUSE WHENEVER SHE TURNED A CORNER, THE DRIVER'S DOOR WOULD SWING OPEN SLIGHTLY. AGAIN THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND IS A $1,000.00 REPAIR. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ABOUT A YEAR AGO.

THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS SOCKETS ARE GETTING BURNT CAUSING THE BRAKES LIGHT TO FAIL. CORROSION ON A CONNECTOR CAN CAUSE THE TAIL, BRAKE OR REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS TO DIM OR FAIL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT CAN MAKE CARS LESS VISIBLE TO OTHER DRIVERS, WHICH CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. Car is extremely hard to turn/loss of power steering. Noticed that there was a recall on these vehicles but my vin was not included. Mechanic said Power steering rack is bad. This has been an ongoing issue with this car since purchased with only 70,000 miles - not sure why this VIN was not included in the recall? Car stock radio screen also has intermittent issues with displaying properly.
