SURGING OF ENGINE WHILE PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY TO PARK. SURGING HAS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY. MOST RECENTLY, 2/27/2013. WHILE TRAVELING APPROX. 20 MPH, BRAKES FAILED AND SURGE OCCURRED. L TURN OFF ENGINE PUT IT IN PARK, WAITED A MINUTE AND RESTARTED ENGINE,PROCEEDING HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. TOTAL OCCURRENCES--6 TIMES SINCE PURCHASE. DEAN ARBOR FORD ALPENA MI REPLACED AIR MASS SENSOR, FRONT BRAKES AND AIR FILTER 2/28/2013......$596
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE, VEHICLE WOULD 'STUMBLE' AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (40-65). POWER WOULD RECOVER AND CONTINUE. PROBLEM SEEMED TO OCCUR MORE OFTEN IN HOT WEATHER AND SEEMED LESS FREQUENT IN COOLER (WINTER) WEATHER. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE BUT PERFORMED RECALL 10B15C. PROBLEM WORSENED WITH LOSS OF POWER WITHOUT WARNING AT ANYWHERE BETWEEN 35 - 65MPH WITH 'WRENCH' APPEARING ON DISPLAY. SHUTTING CAR OFF AND RESTART AFTER A COUPLE/FEW MINUTES RETURNS POWER WITH NO ILLUMINATION OF WRENCH OR ENGINE SYMBOL. POWER LOSS NOW OCCURRING ON EACH TRIP AND HAS OCCURRED REPEATEDLY WITHIN SHORT TIME (MINUTES) OF FIRST FAILURE. IF ENGINE DIES REPEATEDLY, ENGINE SYMBOL ILLUMINATES AND CODES P2111 AND P0685 HAVE BEEN FOUND. ENGINE NOW DIES BOTH AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND AT IDLE. RESEARCHED WEB FOR CODES AND FOUND THAT THROTTLE BODY IS A LIKELY PROBLEM. CONTACTED DEALER(S) WHO STATED ANY REPAIRS WOULD BE AT CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE. *TR
THE COMPANY HAS SENT NUMEROUS OF NOTICES STATING THE RECALL OF THE VEHICLE BUT HAS YET TO COMPLY. THE NUMBERS ON THE PAPER ARE 16S26 & 16V384. WHEN FORD IS CONTACTED, THEY STATE THE PARTS HAVE NOT ARRIVED FROM MEXICO. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR APPROX 3 YEARS & IS UNACCEPTABLE.
I HAVE A 2010 MERCURY MILAN THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MANY TIMES THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING IT HAS LEFT ME IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND THE LAST STRAW WAS 3 WEEKS AGO WHEN THE TRANSMISSION KICKED IN WHEN I WAS TURNING IT POPPED MY NECK AND I HIT A CURB. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR. ONE TIME THE GAS PEDAL STUCK AND I HAD TO REACH DOWN AND PULL OUT MY FLOOR MAT. ALSO TRIM PARTS JUST FALL OFF OF THIS THING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCURY MILAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS DIFFICULT TO READ DURING THE DAY AND HE DID NOT KNOW HIS SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. HE WAS AWAITING A CALL BACK FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 300.
UNINTENTIONAL ACCELERATION 2010 MERCURY MILAN HYBRID. *TR
MY CAR SPED UP WHILE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE I JUST GOT IT STOPPED BEFORE I HIT A TRUCK THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND TIME I WAS PULLING INTO MY GARAGE TO PARK MY CAR WHEN IT SPED UP AND I TOOK THE CENTER SECTION BETWEEN MY DOORS BEFORE I GOT IT STOPPED. IT DONE $3299 TO THE GARAGE AND $2600 TO THE CAR. FORD CHECKED IT OUT FOR TWO HOURS AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCURY MILAN. WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SURGE BACKWARDS UNTIL IT ROLLED OVER A CURB RESULTING IN A CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO CHANCE THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE SURGED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE; THE FAILURE RESULTED IN ANOTHER CRASH. ANOTHER POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,500. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000.
MY WIFE HAD A GREEN LIGHT AND PROCEEDED THROUGH AND INTERSECTION. SOMEONE IN RAN A RED LIGHT AND T-BONED HER IN THE DRIVERS DOOR DOING APPROX 40 MPH. NONE OF THE SIDE CURTAIN (OR ANY AIRBAGS) DEPLOYED. MY WIFE SUFFERED HEAD INJURIES AND BRUISING TO HER LEGS AND SHOULDERS. THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN TOTALED. IT HAS BEEN A WEEK SINCE THE ACCIDENT AND SHE HAS HAD A HEADACHE AND NECK PAIN SINCE. *TR
