THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR IS CONSTANTLY WET IN MY 2001 GALANT. IT STARTED HAPPENING IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. I CHECKED THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR AND DO NOT SEE ANY HOLES; THE UNDERCARRIAGE COATING LOOKS FINE. THERE IS A LITTLE SUPPORT BEAM UNDER THE FLOOR BOARD OF THE CAR THAT I CAN NOT PEER INTO. THE FLUID DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE COOLANT. IT DOES NOT LOOK OR SMELL LIKE COOLANT. *TR

MY 2002 SILVER MITSUBISHI GALANT GTZ LOOKS HORRIBLE. NOTICING AFTER THE CAR WAS PURCHASED THAT THE CAR DID NOT HAVE ANY REAL SHINE TO IT. TRIED WAXING AND STILL LOOKED BAD. EVEN RUNNING YOU HANDS OVER IT DOES NOT FEEL SMOOTH. WELL IN 2007 I NOTICED BLOTCHY SPOTS ALL OVER IT NO LOOKS LIKE THE PAINT IS GONE COMPLETELY. I ACTUALLY PAID EXTRA FOR THE CLEAR COAT PROTECTION AND UNDERCOATING INNERCOATING WHEN PURCHASED NEW. IT'S AS IF IT SHOWED UP AS SOON AS THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE PAINT ON THE ROOF/HOOD OF MY 2002 MITSUBISHI GALANT HAS FADED BADLY. I READ DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE ONLINE WHO OWN MITSUBISHI GALANT'S REGARDING MYSTERIOUS PAINT PROBLEMS ON THE HOODS OF THEIR CARS. COMMON PROBLEMS REPORTED IS PAINT FADING BADLY ON THE HOOD, ROOF, AND TRUNK FROM OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THEIR CAR FOR ONLY A FEW YEARS. I'VE ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR TWO YEARS AND THE ROOF OF MY CAR HAS FADED BADLY THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN. THESE PAINT PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN GIVEN COMPLETELY UNSATISFACTORY EXCUSES BY MITSUBISHI AND AS A RESULT MULTIPLE FORUMS AND WEBSITES. MITSUBISHI SOME HOW NEGLECTED TO ADD THE CLEAR COAT PROTECTION TO ALL BLACK PAINT AND APPARENTLY HAVE ADMITTED TO THIS BUT HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY STEPS TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. I BELIEVE THAT THIS MATTER CAN BE BROUGHT TO MITSUBISHI'S ATTENTION VIA A CLASS ACTION SUIT. THEY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL. *TR

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF GALANTS OUT THERE MAYBE MORE AND THEY ACT AS IF NOTHINGS WRONG, I FEEL LIKE THERE WRONG AND THEY KNOW IT THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND I'M CLEARLY TIRED OF IT AND THINK SOMEONE SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. CAR IS EXCEPTIONALLY AERODYNAMICALLY UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE DRIFTS OR WAVERS BACK AND FORTH AT HIGHWAY SPEED. EVEN LIGHT, GUSTY WIND PULLS THE VEHICLE HARD NECESSITATING ABRUPT CORRECTIVE MANEUVERS TO PREVENT SIDE COLLISIONS ON THE HIGHWAY. ON WINDY DAYS, A GUST WILL CAUSE VEHICLE TO SWERVE INTO NEIGHBORING LANE WITHOUT CORRECTION. *NM
I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW (02 MITS. GALANT - BLACK) AND THE PAINT AND CLEAR COAT HAS BEEN FADING. IT STARTED ON THE TRUNK IN A SMALL SPOT AND NOW HAS SPREAD TO THE ROOF AND HOOD. I WAS TOLD BY MITS. THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS, THEREFORE THEY AREN'T ABLE TO ASSIST ME SINCE I NOW HAVE OVER 100,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I WAS ADVISED BY CHERYL (CUSTOMER SERVICE REP) THAT THEY HAVE A BUSINESS TO RUN AND THAT SINCE I'M OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PARAMETERS THEY AREN'T ABLE TO HELP ME. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET I'VE NOTICED THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. IT SEEMS THAT MITS. IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY AREN'T WILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT. *TR
THE CAR STARTED FADING ON THE SIDE DOORS. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT IT WAS A COMPLAINT TO THE MANUFACTURER. AFTER THE SUMMER OF LAST YEAR THE ROOF STARTED TO FADE ALL OVER. THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THIS TYPE OF CAR OWNERS. MY FATHER AND I TRIED WASHING AND WAXING THE CAR TO KEEP FROM FADING, BUT ITS DAMAGED TO THE POINT WHERE THE CAR WILL NEED TO BE STRIP AND SANDED. *TR
