Purchased my used vehicle at my local dealer, in which, they just received into inventory and had not been reconditioned at all ,prepping for Resale, but this vehicle was still offered to me in a nonformal fashion; since my low credit, low deposit, and prior repos that It be best if I choose that one. the vehicle has displayed symptoms of shuddering since day one. Test drive was uneventful since we remained low speed.however, Immediately and if ever drive 55-75mph there would have shuddering and erratic rpm readings but would settle once slowed and time passed.the dealer was informed the next day of this + of all oil change, car wash, detail, inspection, etc. That were also offered as apart of the deal as well and they ONLY picked up the vehicle once ,second day after financing vehicle,BUT they Only installed a "GPS" device within the vehicle and ignored and downplayed all my requests and Accounts of the details of the matter ENTIRELY. The problem persisted and the dealer personnel gave me the run around and errors electronically that pushed this matter past warranty dateline and they informed me they were not obligated to any action. 2.5 - 3 years have passed living with these unresolved issues gotten used to it until Last month on the freeway the "service transmission" light illuminated it shuddered uncontrollably to a sudden stop where it was very difficult to steer to safe location, but Once I stopped the vehicle would always start up but not would it accelerate forward or backwards every time.sometimes yes ,and some not so much. Had to be towed home and seemed to drive About half of a block distance only as have had been completely cool,as opposed to warm or hot and attempting to move forward. Shows all the symptoms of safety campaign SR-16-006. Local repair shop was uncertain diagnosing ,but Tried a complete transmission fluid exchange, Which was a fail. As far as recalls dealership, too costly at the moment for tow to/from+inspection,since the recall shows error
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle decelerated and accelerated unintendedly. Additionally, the steering wheel seized. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway and restarted the vehicle after several activation and deactivation of the starter. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle and driving, the vehicle was jerking. The vehicle was taken to three different independent mechanics and diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact attempted to inform the manufacturer of the failure but was unable to speak with a representative. The approximate failure mileage was 140,040.
The contact's wife owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 40-45 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact's wife veered to the side of the road and parked the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed. The independent mechanic advised the contact to take the vehicle to a transmission specialist for repair. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V548000 (Power Train). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. The VIN was invalid.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated while her husband driving 45 MPH, the vehicle started to jerk. The contact stated that the service transmission warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to park on the side of the road and restart the vehicle. The driver took to the vehicle to a nearby independent mechanic and was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The driver took the vehicle to the local dealer the following day, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,558.

The failure mileage was approximately 59,995.
This problem has been reported to the local dealership whom fixed the recall and they are refusing to correct the other problem that is related to the recall. The emergency brake will not release in lower freezing temperatures and or it will release and while driving seize up and stop the rear driver side tire. This causes an instant swaying of the vehicle and could potentially cause vehicle to roll if this happens at higher speeds. So far it has only happened under 35 mph. The dealership claims it’s the cable for the emergency brake that need to be replaced and there is not faulty parts that had been replaced under the recall. On that same wheel that this problem occurs the caliper has been stuck and worn. Down the pad and now is wearing into the rotor. It’s only on one side and everything that was listed under the recall for 2016 models and newer seems to match the problems with this vehicle as well. All the brakes and rotors were replaced a year ago. A tire was replaced after it had seized up and was dragging, wearing down the tire in one spot. I am asking that my vehicle have another inspection by a different facility that would be willing to look further and assist in reporting reconsideration to include the repairs that are needed on this vehicle.
My 2015 Mitsubishi outlander transmission, cvt has gone out at 11700 thousand miles,, I was told there's no warranty nor recall , I was driving up hill it started jerking really hard , there was a car coming up behind me almost hitting me because of it lagging , please put a recall on these vehicles , be for someone dies because of the cvt failer.
Car won’t drive over 10 mph The problem was supposed to fixed a year ago by car max in Woodbridge now it happened again
Check engine illumination: code is showing that the Transmission Control Module has an error. When stopped the cars acceleration lags and causes stalls and delayed acceleration.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the ABS warning light illuminated and the vehicle would stall while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and resume normal driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and several independent mechanics; however, none of the mechanics were able to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
My transmission wasn't working properly. It is available for inspection if my vehicle can be towed where it needs to go as it does not drive on it's own. When my transmission stopped working I could have caused a collision. Yes, my vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer. Some warning signs were the transmission taking longer than it should to go into gear and having trouble accelerating.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that they were unable to assist. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal with an unknown transmission message displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or serviced for the failure. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and informed that contact that there were no open recalls on the Vin. The contact was informed that if the vehicle was still under warranty a representative would provide a callback. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V563000 (Power Train). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 150,600.
While driving the vehicle surges forwards like it is having difficult shifting gears or accelerating . It happens while driving 40 miles . Al while at a stand still in traffic it shakes and vibrates like it wants to stall then pulls forward . The the transmission light flashes on then goes away
my transmission is having issues and i only have 84,000 miles. Never had any other issues.
My car has a major problem with acceleration hesitation in transmisson that has almost caused several accidents. Also whenever I ride down the road and hit the minute bump my steering jerk really bad and it happens on both sides causing me to jerk steering wheel almost run off the road several times.
My transmission doesn't go into gear right away and doesn't drive right in automatic. If I switch it to manual and only go up to 5th gear it shifts fine. There was a transmission recall for same year make and model as mine. Those recalls happened around 80,000 miles. I have 84,000. I was previously told I needed either a fuel tank or fuel injectors, never got it diagnosed. My gas gauge reads full all the time even when I dont have gas.
VEHICLE HAS DELAY AND/OR HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60MPH TRYING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AFTER I CHANGED LANES. FINALLY, AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS, THE CAR RESPONDED AND JUMPED QUICKLY UP TO SPEED. AFTER THIS OCCURRENCE, IT'S NOW HAPPENING ON SIDE STREETS AS WELL GOING AS SLOW AS 10-20MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLETON MITSUBISHI (3508 E. DIVISION ST. SPRINGFIELD, MO 65802, 888-489-98030) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V563000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
THE CAR WHEN SPEEDING IT ALWAYS LIKE CRASHES SINCE NEW . WHEN YOU ACCELERATE IT DOESN'T GO RIGHT AWAY . ALSO THE BRAKES GET RUSTED RIGHT AWAY SO IT MAKES SOUND. ALSO THE AIR HEATER OR AC ARE ALWAYS WORKING EVEN WHEN ITS OFF.
VEHICLE STARTED HAVING ROUGH IDLE AT ABOUT 70,000 MILES WHEN AIR CONDITIONER WOULD BE TURNED ON. RMP'S WOULD FLUCTUATE BETWEEN 500-1000. NOW AT ABOUT 90,000 MILES VEHICLE HAS ROUGH IDLE WHETHER AC IS ON OR NOT. VEHICLE HAS STALLED WHEN CHANGING GEARS, WHILE WAITING AT A STOP OR WHEN SITTING IN TRAFFIC. TODAY 3/24/21 VEHICLE STALLED WHILE ENTERING AN INTERSECTION WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE ALSO HAS A HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE WHETHER FROM A STOP OR FROM A COASTING SPEED.VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP ON OCTOBER 2019 FOR CVT8-ECM REFLASH AS PER RECALL BUT IT ONLY SOLVED THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. THERE SHOULD BE ANOTHER RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE AS THESE PROBLEMS CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY/ACCIDENT.
TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING/WORKING
After being reprogrammed at the dealer my 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport started to exhibit a shudder, surge condition. Finally on March 2021 while driving on a highway the CVT started to slip and the vehicle started to exhibit a lack of acceleration untill it came to a stop in the middle lane almost causing an accident. The vehicle was scanned and codes P084A, P0776 and P0843 were present. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on a tow truck and scanned again and the same codes were present. Now the dealer is telling me that I need a new CVT transmission and that warranty was denied by Mitsubishi. It is to their knowledge that these CVT transmissions are defective and they are trying to fix them with a simple CVT ECU reprogramming and oil change as per the TSB-20-23-001, also charging the owner for the oil change. It is about time that the US Government make Mitsubishi Motors issue a mandatory recall since this is a dangerous condition that can cause a major accident on US highways. It is also time for a Class Action Suit against Mitsubishi Motors for selling a defective product and refusing to repair the vehicles.

TRANSMISSION FAIL LESS THAN 75,000 MILES. CAR WAS IN MOTION.
The cvt transmissions are terrible and fail
I WENT TO GO TURN ON MY CAR WHEN I GOT OUT OF WORK AND WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE ON DRIVE AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED! SO I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND PUT THE CAR ON DRIVE AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR REVVED UP AND MOVED A LITTLE WITH HESITATION. SO I PUT THE CAR ON REVERSE AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND CAR WOULD REV UP BUT NOT MOVE! SO I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON AGAIN AND PUT IT IN REVERSE AGAIN AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN AND THE CAR MOVED BUT WITH HESITATION AND WITH NOT A LOT OF FORCE! SO I LEAVE THE CAR AT MY WORKPLACE AND GET THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOUSE THE NEXT DAY! I CALL THE DEALER BECAUSE MY MECHANIC SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL WITH THE VEHICLE HESITATING TO MOVE AND I GAVE THEM MY VIN NUMBER AND THE DEALER TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WASN'T ON THE RECALL LIST ! THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION IT WAS GOING TO COST ABOUT $8000. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 114000 MILES I SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM! SO NOW I'M STUCK WITH A CAR THAT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION/POWER TRAIN !
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP, CAUSING THE STOPPING DISTANCE TO BECOME EXTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER ABELOFF KIA LOCATED AT 1169 N 9TH ST, STROUDSBURG, PA 18360 WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE CALIPER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDY. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE TURNING A LOUD SOUND WAS COMING FROM BOTH THE FRONT AND THE REAR AXLES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
PARKING BRAKE IS NONFUNCTIONAL DUE TO PARTS OF BRAKE CALIPER RELATED TO PARKING BRAKE BECOMING STUCK IN PLACE, AND PREVENTING THE PARKING BRAKE FROM ENGAGING.
WHEN DRIVING THE MITSUBISHI IT ACCELERATES ON IT'S OWN AN JERKS THEN SLOWS DOWN VEHICLE HESITATES TO ACCELERATE PASS 20 MILES PER HOUR AT FIRST THEN IT SPEEDS REVVING UP I DON'T WANT TO GET HIT FROM BEHIND AN I DON'T WANT TO REAR END ANYONE VICE VERSA. THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS LOOSE AN LIGHT WEIGHT. I HAVE ENCLOSED A YOUTUBE VIDEO THAT EXPLAINS WHAT THE VEHICLE IS DOING NOTE THAT IS NOT ME SPEAKING IN THE YOUTUBE VIDEO BUT THOSE ARE THE EXACT ISSUES THAT THE GUY IN THE VIDEO POSTED
TRANSMISSION ISSUES/ FAILURE AT 116,000 MILES WITH KNOWN ISSUES FROM OTHERS ONLINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE/FAILURE AND REPLACEMENT FOR 'SPECIALTY' CVT TRANSMISSION UNREASONABLY PRICES TO REPLACE. THESE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ARE NOT DISCUSSED AT POINT OF SALE (WHICH IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SALESMAN) BUT ALSO NO DISCLOSURE FROM MITSUBISHI. THESE TRANSMISSIONS SHOULD NOT FAIL SO SOON. WHEN DRIVING ISSUES WHEN SHIFTING NOT AS NORMAL AND THERE IS NO WARNING LIGHT THAT ENGAGES UNTIL RIGHT BEFORE YOUR TRANSMISSION FAILS. IT IS NOT SAFE!*DT CONSUMER STATED HER VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIFT GATE OPENED, BEEPED AND FELL WITH FORCE. AFTER A WHILE, THE TAILGATE FAILED TO OPEN WITHOUT USING FORCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FUCCILLO MITSUBISHI LOCATED AT 18822 US-11, WATERTOWN, NY 13601, AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL SUBJECTED TO THE VIN. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V867000 (STRUCTURE) AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL ADDRESSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 128,000.
RECEIVED RECALL DOCUMENTATION IN AUGUST 2020, CALLED TO GET INFORMATION (SPOKE TO AMBER). TOLD TO CALL AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE RECALL TAKEN CARE OF. CALLED AND GOT AN APPOINTMENT FOR SEPTEMBER 26, 2020 AT 8AM AT 165 LINCOLN HIGHWAY, FAIRLESS HILLS PA 19030. ON SEPTEMBER 25, I RECEIVE A CALL THAT THEY RAN OUT OF THE RECALL PARTS AND HAVE TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT, THEY WILL CALL WHEN THEY'RE BACK IN STOCK. I CALLED IN NOVEMBER, DECEMBER AND JUST LAST WEEK TO FIND OUT THEY STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY OF THE FRONT CROSS MEMBERS TO REPLACE THEM (AND SHE SAID THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE STILL WAITING). IN MY RECALL LETTER IT STATES " A DETACHED FRONT CONTROL ARM CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH"
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated while depressing the accelerator pedal, there was a delay in the vehicle response with the vehicle jerking. The contact also stated that the throttle position sensor was failing. There was an oxygen sensor warning light illuminated. The oxygen sensor was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was diagnosed; however, there were no failure codes retrieved. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
ROTARS PREMATURELY SEVERELY RUSTED. MAY BE RELATED TO THE FACT THAT NO PROTECTION WAS USED FOR THE CAR AGAINST ROCK SALT AS INDICATED IN LATEST SAFETY RECALL, WHICH ONLY MENTIONED THE FRONT CROSS MEMBERS. IF PROTECTION WAS NOT IN PLACE THIS WOULD AFFECT ANY AREA OF THE CAR THAT COULD CARRODE OR RUST WHERE EXPOSED.
I WENT TO MY DEALER WITH THE RECALL LETTER. THEY SPRAYED IT NOT REPLACE IT. NOT LIKE THE LETTER SAID TO DO.I AM AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing rough idling, and the failure mainly occurred while the air conditioning system was activated. Additionally, while driving at various speeds or from a complete stop, the vehicle hesitated, jerked, and responded upon depressing the accelerator pedal. The transmission warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while reversing. The contact stated that the failure had caused the vehicle to bump into nearby curbs while attempting to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined; however, the dealer cleaned the throttle body. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer approximately 4 to 5 times. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT, SLOW EMISSIONS LEAK. IT WAS AT THE GAS CAP. RUST AROUND FILLER TUBE. NEEDED TO REMOVE RUST SO GAS CAP MAKES GOOD DEAL. SLOW ACCELERATE WITH TRANSMISSION AND NOISE FROM LOWER CONTROL ARM
MY CAR STARTED TO EXPERIENCE A SURGE CONDITION WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND A TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED IS SHOWN AT THE DASHBOARD ALONG WITH A CODE P084A THAT WAS SCANNED AT THE DEALER. NOW THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I ASKED HOW COME MY CAR IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL THAT MITSUBISHI DID FOR 2015 OUTLANDER SPORT BACK IN APRIL OF 2020, SINCE THE SYMPTOMS ARE THE SAME AS PER THE TSB-20-23-001 AND THEY TOLD ME THAT, IT GOES ONLY BY THE VIN #, AND MY CAR IS NOT LISTED. NOW THEY OFFERED MY A NEW TRANSMISSION FOR ALMOST $7K OR A USED ONE FOR $3.5 K I JUST CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY, MY CAR BARELY PASSED 100K (117K TO BE EXACT)
AT 56K MILES THE TACHOMETER WOULD REV UP TO 5 WHILE MAINTAINING AN EVEN SPEED, THEN WHEN GOING UP HILLS THERE WAS NO POWER. VERY SUDDEN ISSUE NO WARNING, THEN WARNING LIGHT SERVICE TRANSMISSION REQUIRED CAME ON. VERY FRUSTRATED - MY FIRST MITSUBISHI AND I WANT IT GONE. I'VE SEEN RECALLS FOR THIS YEAR BUT MY VIN SAYS THERE ARE NONE. *TR
MY REAR DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE CALIPER FROZE LAST YEAR AND CURRENTLY MY REAR HTTPS://HOODSITE.COM/PASSENGER BRAKE CALIPER IS FROZEN. THE OTHER DAY I WAS DRIVING AND I NOTICED A CONSTANT SCRAPING SOUND, I WAS ABLE TO JACK UP THE CAR AND SPIN THE TIRE AND CONFIRM THAT THE BRAKE IS MAKING CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR. *TR
On June 11, 2020 i was hit head on in an accident in Syracuse NY. My airbags NEVER went off.
MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF A RECALL FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I AM BEING TOLD IT HAS NO CURRENT OPEN RECALLS AND SINCE I AM THE SECOND OWNER I DO NOT HAVE A WARRANTY. I'M CURRENTLY HAVING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION ON MY 5 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH ONLY 43,000 MILES FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUES LISTED IN THE RECALL.*DT*JB
2015 MITSUBISHI STARTED SPUTTERRING WHILE WAITING FOR RED LIGHT AND HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING. CHECK ENGINE CAME ON. LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, BUT WHEN I LOOKED UP THE RECALL MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ALONE, THE 'AIRBAG SYSTEM REPAIR REQUIRED' MESSAGE AND LIGHT APPEARS ON MY DASHBOARD. THIS OCCURRED ON A HIGHWAY GOING 60 MPH. THE ICON SHOWN WAS FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT, HOWEVER THE SEAT WAS EMPTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR WITH THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CEASED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER NOR WAS A DEALER NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATELY FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THIS 2015 OUTLANDER SPORT WAS BOUGHT FROM A DEALER AT 42,000 MILES, NOW IT HAS 69,000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR WOULD DO JUMPS OR JERKS DURING LOW SPEED OR GETTING UP TO SPEED ABOUT 30-45MPH. THE RPM JUMPS UP AND DOWN WHILE GOING 50-70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. IT IS HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS THE MITSUBISHI RECALL SR-16-006 STATED BACK IN 2016 FOR 2015-2016 OUTLANDER SPORT. WE TOOK THE CAR TO A MITSUBISHI DEALER THE NEXT DAY. THE DEALER SAID THAT THERE IS AN INTERNAL FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION, CODE 084A, FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR PERFORMANCE. THE DEALER WANTS $7,700 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. SADLY, A SECOND OWNER'S POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AT 60,000 MILES. THE CAR HAD THE CVT-ECU SOFTWARE UPDATED BACK IN 2016 THROUGH THE MITSUBISHI RECALL SR-16-006 WHEN IT WAS OWNED BY THE DEALER. THE DEALER DID NOT REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AS THEY SHOULD HAVE ACCORDING TO THE RECALL. THUS HERE WE ARE, THE OWNERS WITH CARS THAT HAVE THE OLD TRANSMISSIONS WITH THE PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED! MITSUBISHI NEEDS TO MAKE ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS IN THE TRAFFIC TO SUDDENLY LOSE POWER TO ACCELERATE OR WHEN THE CAR WANTS TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE BY ITSELF CONSTANTLY! THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER SAFETY DEFECT, THE CAR BARELY HAS 69,000 MILES! WE ARE A MITSUBISHI FAMILY. WE HAVE A 2002 LANCER THAT IS CURRENTLY AT 200,000+ MILES WITHOUT ANY MAJOR REPAIR! WE ALSO HAVE A 2014 OUTLANDER SPORT THAT IS STILL RUNNING WELL AT 60,500+ MILES, AND WE'RE HOPING FOR THE BEST. IT IS VERY SAD TO BE IN THIS POSITION. THIS VIDEO SHOWS THE PROBLEM THE CAR IS HAVING: HTTPS://YOUTU.BE/ABD9PHF5CEA?T=107 LOOK AT THE RECENT COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS DEFECT AND THINK ABOUT HOW MANY OF THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THE NHTSA INFORMATION: HTTPS://WWW.NHTSA.GOV/VEHICLE/2015/MITSUBISHI/OUTLANDER%252520SPORT/SUV/FWD. *TR
TRANSMISIN SLIPS , CAR STUDDERS DURING ACCELERATION, VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO CROSS A STREET OR ENTERING HIGHWAYS. VERY HARD TO CONTROL STEERING, ENGINE MAKES A LOUD NOISE (AS IF YOU ACEELERATE AND THERE IS NO POWER, HIGH RPM NOISE)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE RPM REVVED UP HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. AFTER PULLING OVER, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE HOWEVER, THE THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
