I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, AT NIGHT, IN THE RAIN, AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. I TRIED EVERY SETTING TO NO AVAIL. I TRIED USING THE CLEANING FLUID (WHICH USUALLY TRIGGERS THE WIPERS) AND THE FLUID PUMPED, BUT THE WIPERS DIDN'T WIPE. THE REAR WIPER IS STILL WORKING. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND CHECKED THE FUSES, AND THEY ARE FINE. I TRIED TO MANUALLY MOVE THE WIPERS, AND THEY MOVED FREELY.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 18V10300 (VISIBILITY) AND 18V07000 (PARKING BRAKE); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE DEALER (EL CAJON MITSUBISHI, 247 EL CAJON BLVD, EL CAJON, CA) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THEY COULD NOT FORCE THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY VEHICLE WITH VIN # [XXX] HAS 2 OPEN RECALL OF WHICH COULD BE VERY SERIOUS INVOLVING CALIPER BRAKING, AND A CORROSION OF BALL JOINT WIPER. I HAVE BEEN CALLING PLANET MITSUBISHI AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE. PLEASE HELP ME FIND A WAY TO SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING THAT THESE PEOPLE CANT HAVE THE ISSUE RESOLVED. I'VE BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR SINCE DECEMBER 2017. EVERY SINCE I'VE PURCHASED A VEHICLE THE BRAKES ARE ALWAYS SQUEAKING WHEN YOU BACK UP.
THE SENSOR FOR THE AIRBAGS WAS OUT DURING THE CRASH BUT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY
I RECEIVED A LETTER EXPLAINING THERE IS A DEFICIENCY WHICH CAN SHUT DOWN MY MOTOR WHILE IN USE, AND TO VISIT A DEALER TO HAVE IT FIXED. SPOKE WITH REPS BY PHONE AND WAS TOLD IT MUST BE DONE AT A DEALER - NO EXCEPTIONS. I AM MEDICALLY RESTRICTED IN MY ACTIVITIES, I ADVISED THEM. NO EXCEPTIONS. CLOSEST DEALER TO MY HOME (EDWARDS, MS) IS IN ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA, I'M SORRY TO SAY I LEARNED, AND I REQUESTED THEY PROVIDE A CLOSER REPAIR PLACE, LIKE CLINTON OR VICKSBURG, MS, BUT THEY DECLINED. I ASKED THEM HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW FOR SURE. OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS? AT MY EXPENSE. WHAT IF IT BROKE DOWN ON THE WAY AND I WAS ABLE TO AVOID BEING OBLITERATED?? WHY, THEY WOULD DISPATCH A TOW. WHAT ABOUT ME? I WOULD BE ON MY OWN TO GET TO THE DEALER TO PICK UP THE CAR. MAYBE YOUR AGENCY HAS NO ANSWER FOR ME, BUT THIS SEEMS OUTRAGEOUS TREATMENT OF AN UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMER. WHY COULD THEY NOT ARRANGE FOR ANOTHER AUTO DEALERSHIP CLOSER TO ME TO DO THE WORK? DEALER WILL NOT HONOR RECALL ,OVER 100 MILES FROM DEALER
THE VEHICLE LAGS DURING GEAR SHIFTS AND HAS A BIG LAG WHEN STARTING TO DRIVE. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, BUT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM, WHICH I HAD DONE. BUT WHEN THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DO THIS AFTER THE RECALL WAS COMPLETE, RED DEER MITSUBISHI IN RED DEER ALBERTA REFUSED TO LOOK ANY FURTHER, OR CONTACT HEAD OFFICE. PLEASE NOTE: 1. WHEN DRIVING MY CAR IS HESITANT AND IT JERKS YOU WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE GAS PEDAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY SWERVED TO THE SHOULDER LANE. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE COLLIDED WITH THE GUARDRAIL, THE VEHICLE SWERVED BACK INTO THE TRAVEL LANE, AND THEN BACK TO THE SHOULDER LANE WHERE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE COLLIDED WITH THE GUARDRAIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SEAT BELTS WERE LATCHED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT ARM AS THE WINDOW WAS OPEN AND HER ARM WAS CUT BY THE GUARDRAIL. THE CONTACT ALSO SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED BACK AND HEAD INJURIES AS HIS HEAD STRUCK THE DASHBOARD. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT AND THEN TOWED TO AN AUTO GARAGE BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. WHILE AT THE AUTO GARAGE, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE INSPECTED DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF BLOOD INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER REPAIR FACILITY TO HAVE THE BLOOD CLEANED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DETERMINE WHY THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JEFF D'AMBROSIO MITSUBISHI (1223 LANCASTER AVENUE DOWNINGTOWN, PA 19335) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE WAS CONSUMING OIL PREMATURELY, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO STALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION WENT COMPLETELY OUT. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE NEW MEXICO. WE WERE DRIVING, NO PROBLEMS AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT SAID STOP THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION OVERHEAT. WE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER. ENDED UP HAVING THE VEHICLE TRANSPORTED BACK HOME TO TEXAS AND WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY HAD JUST RAN OUT. WE MISSED IT BY 3,000 MILES. ENDED UP SPENDING OVER $6,000.00 ON A NEW TRANSMISSION AND IT IS STILL NOT RUNNING RIGHT. I THOUGHT I HAD RESEARCHED THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE BEFORE PURCHASING IT, APPARENTLY NOT. NOW I'M SCARED TO TAKE IT ON ROAD TRIPS. ONLY DRIVE TO AND FROM WORK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MOUNT THE MITSUBISHI ROOF MOUNT RACK, THE VEHICLE ROOF RACK SECUREMENTS POINTS FRACTURED DUE TO RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE KELLY MITSUBISHI DEALER LOCATED AT 536 STATE AVE, EMMAUS, PA 18049; (610) 967-2101 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AREA NEEDED TO BE CLEANED WITH THE WD40 AND BRUSH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE CLEANING WOULD NOT DO ANY GOOD FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 888-648-7820 AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO OTHER THAN THE WD40. THE APPROXIMATE THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ON GOING OVER TIME AND STARTED BY NOTICING MOISTURE IN THE REAR LIGHTS. WITH TIME THE MOISTURE TURNED INTO WATER THAT CAUSED BULBS TO BURN OUT.THE REAR LIGHTS ABSORB MOISTURE WHICH CONDENSES INTO WATER THAT AFFECTS THE LIGHT BULBS AND HAD TO CHANGE THE BULBS COUNTLESS TIMES AND EVENTUALLY THE LIGHTING STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. TODAY THE LAMP ON THE RIGHT SIDE HAS ACCUMULATED RUST AND IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL WITH THE TURN SIGNAL WHICH IS DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING AND WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE LANES.UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, THE DEALER REFUSED RESPONSIBILITY CLAIMING THE VEHICLE HAS SURPASSED THE MILEAGE THRESHOLD. ONLY ADVISE WAS TO BUY NEW LAMPS WHICH COST AROUND $400 WHEREAS THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THE NEW LIGHTS WON'T ABSORB MOISTURE AND THE CYCLE REPEATS. IT'S IN THIS RESPECT THAT THESE ISSUE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED WHAT CAUSES THE MOISTURE IN THE LAMPS AND MITSUBISHI SHOULD REPLACE THE LIGHTS WITHOUT CHARGES TO THE CONSUMER BECAUSE IT'S RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBSTANDARD PRODUCTS THAT WAS NOT CAUSED BY THE CONSUMER. WILL APPRECIATE HELP ACCORDED.
AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT MULTIPLE STOP LIGHTS, AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN, THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE RPMS DID NOT MOVE, NOR DID THE ENGINE SOUND LIKE IT WAS ACCELERATING.
I NEVER RECEIVED THE LETTER CONCERNING THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM WITH MY CAR. I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING WITH MY AUTO BUT THOUGHT IT WAS NORMAL!! ALSO, THE LOWBEAM ON THE HEADLIGHTS IS TOO LOW!! I HAVE TO DRIVE ON HIGHBEAM TO SEE THE ROAD!!
MY WIFE AND I WENT TO WALKER AUTOMOTIVE, 1616 S. MACARTHUR DR ALEXANDRIA, LA 71301, (318)445-6421 TO FINANCE A LOW OR NO MILEAGE, MPG) EFFICIENT VEHICLE FOR MY WIFE. THE SALESPERSON, STEVE FARRELL ASKED, 'WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLE DID WE WANT?' I TOLD HIM MY FIRST CHOICE WAS A 4 CYL WITH A THIRD-ROW SEATING, WITH AN MPG RATING IN THE MID TO UPPER 20'S AND NOT A BIG BODY THAT MY WIFE WOULD BE DRIVING MOST OF THE TIME. HE SHOWED A GRAY 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SE (THE VEHICLE WE FINANCED). MY WIFE GOT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND DROVE THE VEHICLE AROUND ON A FEW CITY STREETS SURROUNDING THE DEALERSHIP. I ASKED MR. FARRELL ABOUT THE MILEAGE (34,421) THIS VEHICLE ALREADY HAD. HE STATED, 'THESE WERE HWY MILES.' I INFORMED HIM THAT THE MILEAGE WAS AGREEABLE SINCE I KNEW MY WIFE NEEDED A VEHICLE THAT WAS GOOD FOR HWY DRIVING. AFTER FINANCING THIS VEHICLE, I RETURNED TO WALKER FOR OIL CHANGES, MULTI-POINT INSPECTIONS AND A COUPLE OF MITSUBISHI RECALLS. ONE OF THE RECALLS WAS FOR THE DOOR LOCKS NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING ONCE THE VEHICLE REACHED 5MILES PER HOUR. THE OTHER RECALL WAS FOR A FAILURE IN THE PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM THAT WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO MOVE EVEN WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED. I DISCOVERED THESE RECALLS BY GOING TO THE AUTOZONE WEBSITE. MITSUBISHI DID NOT SEND ME A LETTER. I SCHEDULED AN APPT TO HAVE THE RECALLS CORRECTED. I WAS ASKED TO SPEAK TO 2 DIFFERENT SVC ADVISORS. THE FIRST ADVISOR, MICHAEL MEDINA, WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE ORDERED THE PARTS, BUT DIDN'T, SO MY APPT WAS PUSHED BACK ANOTHER MONTH. THE NEXT SERVICE ADVISOR, SAM MORRISON ORDERED THE PARTS AND SET THE APPT FOR ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN. MR. MEDINA COMMITTED SUICIDE AND MR. MORRISON STOPPED WORKING FOR WALKER AFTER REPAIRING THE RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. MY CONVERSATIONS WITH BOTH OF THESE ADVISORS WAS TO ASK THEM IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER RECALLS. THEY BOTH REPLIED, 'NOT TO THEIR KNOWLEDGE.' *JS
ONE DAY MY TRUCK JUST STARTING LOSING POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE CAR. IT STARTED BUT WASN'T WAS STALLING. I GOT TO SAFETY. BROUGHT TRANSMISSION FLUID AND PUT IN IT. IT HELPED ME GET HOME. CALLED DEALERSHIP NEXT DATE CAR STILL UNDER WARRANTY. WAS TOLD THAT I PUT WRONG FLUID SO THE WARRANTY IS INVALID. HAD ARBITRATOR FOUND NO MANUFACTURING ISSUE EVEN THOUGH TWO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AND ONE SPECIFICALLY STATES WHAT HAPPENED TO MY TRUCK IS DUE TO THIS RECALL. TRUCK LOSES POWER FREQUENTLY. AFRAID TO DRIVE IT, BUT GAVE NO CHOICE.
2/5, NOTICED MY VEHICLE WAS LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING....THOUGHT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION...ALL DEALERSHIPS WAS CLOSED...I HAD TO PUT FLUID IN THE VEHICLE TO GET HOME...CALLED DEALERSHIP EARLY MONDAY MORNING, TOLD THEM MY PROBLEM...WAS GIVEN EARLIEST DAYS ON TUESDAY MORNING. TOOK VEHICLE IN AND CALLED LATER THAT DAY AND TOLD BECAUSE OF THE 1 QT OF TRANSMISSION FLUID I USED, WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS THE WRO6KIND...THEY COULDN'T FIX MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE TH AT CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO LOSE POWER WHICH IT DID...NO ONE IS OFFERING A SOLUTION...I KEEP BEING TOLD THAT BECAUSE I PUT THE WRONG TYPE OF FLUID, THAT MADE THE WARRANTY INVALID I WOULD NOT HAD TO PUT THE FLUID IN THE VEHICLE HAD IT BEEN PERFORMING PROPERLY. 1. IN FEBRUARY 2017, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DISPLAY A PERSISTENT YET INTERMITTENT P0017 CODE. 2. DESPITE TWO SEPARATE REPAIR ATTEMPTS ON MARCH 9, 2017 AND MARCH 15, 2017, YOUNKER MITSUBISHI WAS UNABLE TO ELIMINATE THE P0017 CODE. 3. FROM APRIL 18, 2017 TO APRIL 27, 2017, A PERIOD OF NINE (9) DAYS, THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY PIERRE MITSUBISHI IN AN ATTEMPT TO ELIMINATE THE P0017 CODE. 4. BOTH PIERRE MITSUBISHI'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND MITSUBISHI'S OWN TECH LINE RECOMMENDED WARRANTY REPAIR TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. 5. ON FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 2017, PIERRE MITSUBISHI'S SERVICE MANAGER DENNIS PAULSON PROMISED BY TELEPHONE THAT MITSUBISHI HAD AGREED TO PAY FOR THE WARRANTY REPAIR, AND ACCORDINGLY PARTS WERE SPECIAL ORDERED BY THE DEALER FOR SUCH REPAIR. 6. DESPITE THE INSPECTION RESULTS AND ORAL PROMISES, MR. PAULSON INDICATED ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26, 2017 THAT MITSUBISHI WAS NO LONGER WILLING TO COVER THE WARRANTY REPAIR. 7. BASED ON MITSUBISHI'S REFUSAL TO PERFORM WARRANTY SERVICE, A PRIMA FACIE CASE OF BREACH OF WARRANTY UNDER THE FEDERAL MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED. 8. BASED ON MITSUBISHI'S DOCUMENTED HISTORY OF COVERING UP SERIOUS VEHICLE SAFETY ISSUES, THERE IS AN IMMINENT DANGER THAT THE VEHICLE COULD FAIL AND EXPOSE THE USER TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, INJURY OR WORSE.

MY CAR HAD THE SAFETY RECALL FIXED, THE COMPUTER FOR THE SLOW ACCELERATION. SINCE THEN, THE SHIFTING HAS BEEN OFF. ANYTIME YOU SPEED UP, THE RPM'S GO VERY HIGH UNTIL YOU LET YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO EXPLODE. I'VE TRIED TO HAVE THE DEALER FIX, THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. MITSUBISHI SAYS THE DEALER TOLD THEM THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. SO, IT'S JUST SUPPOSED TO RUN AT A HIGH RPM ANYTIME I SPEED UP? WILL THAT NOT CAUSE DAMAGE? THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM.
I PURCHASED MY 2015 OUTLANDER SPORT SUV AFTER OWNING A MONTERO SPORT AND LOVING IT FOR OVER 12 YEARS. I NOTICED WITHIN A MONTH THAT WHEN I WOULD START OFF FROM A STOPLIGHT, MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD JUMP LIKE IT WAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. DURING THIS JUMP, MY SUV WOULD SLOW DOWN AND NOT ACCELERATE. WHEN IT DID KICK IN, IT WOULD JERK ME FORWARD. I NOW UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR ARE MANY EXPERIENCING THIS SAME ISSUE AND HAVE A REPAIR APPOINTMENT IN 2 DAYS. I SURE HOPE THIS REPAIR TAKES CARE OF THE ISSUE OR THE NHTSA WILL TAKE STEPS TO INSURE THAT CONSUMERS ARE SAFE DRIVING ON OUR USA ROADS. *TR
HI TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN MITSUBISHI RECALLED OUR 2015 OUTLANDER FOR DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSION, WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WORKSHOP, WERE THEY UPGRADE OR FIXED ALTHOUGH AFTER FEW DAYS, WE TRIED MANY TIMES TO RUN THE CAR ON CVT, BUT ITS USELESS, NOISE, DELAYED BUMPY ACCELERATION, THE CAR IS NOT SAFE AND RELIABLE.

OUTLANDER SPORT 2015, PURCHASED IN FEB. 2016. STARTED CAR, PUT IN REVERSE, CAR STOPPED DEAD. LIGHT ON DASHBOARD STATED "ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED", SYMBOL OF A RED SUV WITH A RED X ON IT, & GREEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel would turn at 360 degrees in either direction, with an abnormal sound coming from the steering wheel. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an unknown dealer and was informed that they were unaware of such a failure before and offered no assistance. Upon taking another vehicle to an independent mechanic, the contact described her issue with the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander and was informed by the mechanic that from her description of the failure the vehicle might have a defective clock spring in her steering wheel. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

THERE WERE SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS FOR ME IN THE PAST FEW MONTH. WHEN I JUST ENTERED A ROUNDABOUT, THE ISSUE OCCURED AND MY CAR WON'T ACCELERATE. I ALMOST GOT REARENED BY OTHER CARS THAT WERE ALREADY IN THE ROUNDABOUT. I GOT THE RECALL NOTICE MONTHS AGO, AND I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PROBLEM. A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO TURN RIGHT, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE TURN WITH MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR BUT AS SOON AS I TRIED TO SPEED UP, IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD CARS BEHIND ME AND WAS LUCKY I DIDN'T GET REAR-ENDED. I HAD TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE THE ACCELERATOR STARTED WORKING AGAIN. IT IS INTERMITTENT AND CANNOT BE REPRODUCED ON DEMAND, SO THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO HELP WITH THIS. I WAS IN TO THE DEALER YESTERDAY AND WAS TOLD THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER AND TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK IN RIGHT AWAY IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I CALLED TODAY TO TELL THEM IT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES AND THEY CAN'T GET ME IN FOR OVER A WEEK TO LOOK AT IT. SEVERAL WEEKS AFTER THE ISSUE WAS 'CORRECTED", ACCELERATION FAILED TO GENERATE A SPEED PAST 30 MPH FOR A FEW MOMENTS, THEN 25 MPH, AND I BARELY MANAGED TO GET BACK AT HOME AT NO MORE THAN 20 MPH. EVERY TIME I STEPPED ON THE GAS, IT CAUSED ACCELERATION TO DECREASE UNTIL I STOPPED AND COASTED AT 20.

IT FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND THEN GRABBED OR REENGAGED. A FEW DAYS BEFORE THIS I HAD RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL PROGRAM REPLACED. I HAVE SINCE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL SERVICE AND ALSO REPORTED THE NEAR MISS DUE TO THE LOSS OF DRIVING POWER. THE RECALL SERVICE WAS PERFORMED AND THE DEALERSHIP FAILED TO REPRODUCE THE LOSS OF POWER OR IDENTIFY THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SO FAR THIS FAILURE HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR. LOSS OF POWER WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THROUGH AN INTERSECTION TO ME IS OF SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE GIVEN HIGH PRIORITY BY ALL.
