The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,000.
Cameras fail to work with the camera button or when vehicle is in reverse which causes the sensors not to work either. Therefore you cannot see if you are too close to something and the sensors dont go off to notify you that you are close too close to an object. Huge safety concerns
The Forward Collision Mitigation camera failed, prompting the center screen to continuously blink and beep uncontrollably with no ability to turn off the blinking or beeping. The constant blinking locks up all controls such that you are unable to adjust any of the settings, and the constant beeping is loud enough to cause the driver to be unable to reasonably hear their surroundings and cause annoyance/agitation to the driver. The problem was inspected & diagnosed by Valley Mitsubishi in Longmont, CO. The problem first appeared on [XXX] with the warning light first coming on in the morning and the continuous blinking/beeping/lockup occurring by evening that same day. Radio does a hard reset all on its own, we lose backup camera, alerts and all safety functions that are built into the radio for adjustment. Also get collision warning stating it’s not working. Radio is no longer working. We asked the dealer and they said it’s going to be a recall very soon when we went in for an oil change.
When parking error messge comes up on my vehicle took it to dearlship and stated because of a scratch on my front bumper is causeing my rear parking error code this happen after the software upgrade they did
The hood vibrates. It looks as if the hood is popped, but not actually unlatched. I had the update done on my backup camera, and now it's starting to glitch with lines that go across the whole screen. It reminds me of regular Nintendo in the '90s glitching out. And having to restart the whole system.
Rear view camera goes dark while backing up.
Following a car they stopped all of a sudden collision warning did not activate and did not try to break had to stomp on the pedal to stop. Parking sensors do not activate until you are 2 or 3 inches away from hitting it.
This car has been a problem child since day one. Yesterday I was driving on the highway normally and out of nowhere received a warning on my dashboard about all of these malfunctions and that my ABS, 4WD system, collision system, etc was malfunctioned and turned off. This was followed by a quick sudden jolt of my car. It stayed on throughout the remainder of the day and then all of the alerts disappeared once I turned off my car and back on later that day. Although the alerts turned off… it is still very concerning to me.
4wd error. You can feel a small kick from the transmission before the error occurs.
My wife was parked and inadvertently put the Outlander in gear while turned around to get something from the back seat. By the time she noticed the Outlander was moving they ran into the front end of a SUV about 20 feet away. No warning alerts went off nor did the imminent crash braking engage.
bought new 2022 Outlander for daughter because of Safety features. She wasn't paying attention and got into a very standard rear end collision with air bags going off. The Frontal collision system did not give a warning signal and did not do any emergency braking. The system was not turned off by us.
Bought this New 2022 Outlander 10/01/2021, but on 11/07/2021, the car's software suddenly disabled the Adaptive Cruise Control function and Forwad Collsion Warning when i driving on the highway. I tried to drive to a safe place, stop the car and restart it, and the warnings disappeared. But after driving for a few dozen miles, the warning suddenly reappeared. Then the following function and collision prevention function are all disabled, if the front vehicles suddenly brakes and slows down on the highway, my car will probably crash directly into it. I will go to the car store today to ask the problem and hope to get a reply. For the time being, I have not produced an accident, but the car software keeps failing, which is scary. This car's warning lights keep popping up every few dozen miles of driving with the radar safety system these fail, restarting and then getting better, then getting same problem over and over again. And if there is a car in front, the radar does not detect the vehicle in front, the car system or continue to drive, and will not slow down with the car in front.
