CAR STALLED TWO TIMES WITHIN 20 MINUTES WHEN SLOWING CAR DOWN TO MAKE A TURN. MEINEKE AND PAUL MILLER NISSAN OF FAIRFIELD, CT IDENTIFIED THAT PARTS 23731-AL61A (CRANKSHAFT/CAMSHAFT SENSOR) AND 23731-6J90B (CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR) NEED TO BE REPLACED. THESE SENSORS WERE PART A RECALL FOR THE SAME MAKE, YEAR AND MODEL OF CAR THAT I OWN. NISSAN N.A. CLAIMS THAT MY VIN WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. 630,000+ VEHICLES WERE AFFECTED BY THIS RECALL BUT MY VEHICLE DOES NOT APPLY. ON LINE COMPLAINTS SUGGESTS THAT THE EXACT SAME COMPLAINT KEEPS RECURRING BUT NISSAN HAS NOT EXPANDED THERE VIN REGISTRY TO INCLUDE ALL CARS THAT ARE AFFECTED. SPOKE WITH NISSAN N.A. CASE EXPEDITER WHO STATED MY VEHICLE VIN WAS NOT ON THE AFFECTED LIST ALTHOUGH MY COMPLAINT WAS THE SAME AS THOSE VEHICLES ON THE LIST. NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE WOULD NOT TELL ME WHERE MY PART WAS MADE AND WHERE THE DEFECTIVE PARTS WERE IN FACT MADE. CLAIMED THAT THIS WAS INTERNAL NISSAN INFORMATION THAT THEY HAD NO OBLIGATION TO GIVE ME. *TR
FLOOR ON DRIVERS SIDE IS RUSTED AND CRUMBLING OFF-GETTING THINNER-APPROX FOOT AND HALF IN LENGTH. PASSENGER SIDE IS ABOUT FOOT LONG CRACK. I NOTICED THIS MYSELF ABOUT A YEAR AGO. OF ALL THE OIL CHANGES I HAVE HAD ON THE CAR NO MECHANIC HAS EVER MENTIONED THE CORROSION ON MY 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA. *TR
UNUSUAL RUSTING OF UNDERBODY PASSENGER SIDE. HAVE BECOME AWARE THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE ON 2002 TO 2007 ALTIMAS. MECHANIC IDENTIFIED THIS TO ME SEVERAL MONTHS AGO BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS ISOLATED INCIDENT UNTIL RECENTLY. CLEARLY SAFETY PROBLEM IF IT RUSTS ALL THE THROUGH THE FLOOR BOARD. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR DO THIS INCLUDING ONES OLDER AND WITH MORE MILES. *TR
THE 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA THAT WE PURCHASED, USED, 6 MONTHS AGO HAS SIGNIFICANT RUSTING/FLOOR ROT ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THE HOLES ARE GETTING BIGGER AND WIND RUSHES THROUGH WHEN DRIVING. CONSIDERING THE BROAD RANGE OF ALTIMAS AFFECTED, I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL YET. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER.
ON MARCH 17, 2015 MY MECHANIC DISCOVERED FRONT FLOORBOARDS RUSTED THROUGH FROM INSIDE VEHICLE. I CAN PUT MY FIST THROUGH ONE OF THE HOLES. THE RUSTED FLOORBOARDS ARE A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS A DESIGN ISSUE WELL-KNOWN TO NISSAN AND PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TO NHTSA BY OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS. COST TO REPAIR IS OVER $3,000. MY NISSAN ALTIMA IS LOW MILEAGE AND HAS BEEN WELL-MAINTAINED. IT HAS BEEN GARAGED AND IS OTHERWISE IN GREAT CONDITION. I CANNOT IN ALL GOOD CONSCIENCE DONATE THIS VEHICLE TO CHARITY AND CERTAINLY WILL GET A GREATLY REDUCED TRADE-IN VALUE FROM ANY BUY FOOLISH ENOUGH TO BUY THIS NISSAN. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO NISSAN, BUT RECEIVED NO REPLY. I PLAN TO JOIN A CLASS-ACTION SUIT AGAINST NISSAN AND ALSO ASK THE NHTSA TO ISSUE A RECALL THAT FORCES NISSAN TO REMEDY TO PROBLEM OR COMPENSATE ME FOR MY LOSS OF VALUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND ACCELERATING, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE. THE OIL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LITE CAME ON , CAR RUNS SLUGGISH , STALLS WHILE RUNNING AT SLOW SPEED, PUT ON COMPUTER STATED CAM SHAFT IGNITORS/SENSORS. *TR
THE CAR HAS GIVEN REPEATED PROBLEMS STARTING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS SHOWN A CRANK AND CAM POSITON SENSOR ERROR. I HAVE PAID TO HAVE THESE SENSORS CHANGED WITH GENUINE NISSAN PARTS AND THE CAR WILL NOT START AT ALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND THEY CLEARED THE CODE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PROGRESSED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED MORE THAN FIVE TIMES. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT A BRIEF MOMENT AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V251000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. *TR
WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL. IT HAD 105000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, IT IS A 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH A 2.5L (4 CYLINDER ENGINE) SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE.. WE NOTICED A VERY FOUL SMELL COMING FROM THE EXHAUST AND INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN. ALSO THE ENGINE CONSUMED 1 QUART OF OIL PER 50 TO 60 MILES. NO EXAGGERATION ! I DISCOVERED A RECALL ON THE ALTIMA CONCERNING IT'S PRECAT/CATALYTIC CONVERTER COULD OVER HEAT, BREAK INTO PIECES AND SOME OF THE PIECES COULD BE SUCKED BACK INTO THE ENGINE, SCORING THE CYCLINDER WALLS AND CAUSING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I EMAILED NISSAN WITH MY CONCERNS. THEY ASSIGNED A CASE # TO MY CONCERN. THEY ASKED FOR A NISSAN DEALER TO EVALUATE THE PROBLEMS AND GIVE THEM A FORMAL DIAGNOSTIC OF THE ISSUES. THE ALTIMA HAD A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER INSTALLED IN 2007. A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS DONE ON THE CAR AND THE OIL TOPPED OFF AND WE WERE TOLD TO COME BACK IN 250MILES SO THEY COULD CHECK THE OIL. IN 160MILES WE RETURNED AND THERE WAS NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK! ALSO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND A CODE FOR "CATALYST" PROBLEMS WAS IN THE COMPUTER. THIS WAS ALL SENT TO NISSAN VIA EMAIL. NOW INSTEAD OF A REP. HANDLING THE ISSUES.. THEY HAVE SENT IT TO A REGIONAL REP. AND WE ARE AWAITING THEIR "GOODWILL" DECISION. THAT YEAR ALTIMA AND ENGINE HAS REPEAT ISSUES EVEN AFTER RECALL REPAIR. TPART OF THE RECALL STATES THAT IF THE OWNER DOES NOT CHECK THE OIL OFTEN AND IGNORES ENGINE NOISES THAT IT COULD RESULT IN A FIRE! SUPPOSEDLY A EXHAUST HANGER CATCHS DEBRIS AND CAUSES THE FIRE??? LOL WHO ARE THEY KIDDING? *TR
2.5L ENGINE S MODEL NISSAN ALTIMA. 2002-2003 HAS WELL DOCUMENTED BLOGS AND COMPLAINTS OF EXCESSIVE OIL USE. CAUSES ARE ANY THING TO POOR DESIGN VALVE SEALS TO DUST KICK BACK FROM OVERHEATED CATALYTIC CONVERTOR INTO PISTON/CYLINDER AREA CAUSEING RING FAILURES AS WELL. THIS CURRENT VEHICLE HAS TO BEEN DIAGNOISISED BY A NISSAN DEALER. IT BURNS 2 QUARTS OF OIL PER 160MILES. THE DEALER RECOMMENDS A NEW ENGINE AND NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTOR. THE REGIONAL NISSAN MANAGER CHRIS STATES NISSAN WILL NOT ASSIST IN ANY WAY TO REPLACE/REPAIR THESE ITEMS BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT OWNED THE VEHICLE LONG ENOUGH. THE CAR IS WORTH $3800. THE ENGINE +CONVERTOR+ LABOR IS OVER THE VALUE OF THE CAR. SOME ONE HIGH UP SOMEWHERE DROPPED THE ROYAL BALL ON RECALLING THIS ENGINE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME WITH MY HUSBAND AND 3 GRANDCHILDREN AFTER HAVING DINNER NOTICED SMOKE AND EXITED THE ROAD WAY TO FIND THERE WAS A FIRE UNDER HOOD, THE INSIDE OF CAR FILLED UP WITH SMOKE BEFORE WE COULD EXIT, WE CALLED 911 AND THEY RESPONDED, THEY SAID IT WAS CAUSED FROM AN ELECTRICAL FIRE WAS ALL WE WERE TOLD, THEY TOWED THE CAR AWAY WITH OUT ANY INVESTIGATION, WAS WONDERING IF ANY RECALLS HAVE CAUSED THIS? THE CAR IS AT LAUZONS TOWING IN MALONE NY, ALL WE COULD THINK OF AT THE TIME WAS TO GET THE CHILDREN OUT OF THE COLD AND OFF THE HIGHWAY THEN TO SEEK WHAT HAD CAUSED THIS. TAKATA RECALL
I PURCHASED A 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 106,000. AS IS NO WARRANTY. WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH IT BLEW THE HEAD AND NEEDED A NEW ENGINE WHICH I PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET. THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED THE ENIGINE WITH A NEW CRATE ENGINE ONCE AGAIN THE CAR LASTED ABOUT 3 WEEKS BEFORE IT WAS SMOKING SO BAD AND WILL ONLY DRIVE AT IDLE SPEED.. I DONT THINK THE PLACE I BOUGHT IT HAS A VERY GOOD MECHANIC AND I REALLY WOULD RATHER TAKE IT TO A NISSAN DEALER.. BUT I DONT WANT TO PAY FOR ANOTHER ENGINE I FEEL LIKE IVE ALREADY BOUGHT THE CAR TWICE.

THIS NISSAN IS BURNING OIL LIKE CRAZY. IT STARTED IN JAN, 2015, ENGINE WAS MAKING TERRIBLE NOISE, OIL LEVEL CHECKED, COMPLETELY EMPTY. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN WHO SAID IT WASN'T A PROBLEM AND DID OIL CHANGE. THEN, JUST THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 27TH THE CAR WAS HARD TO START AND SOUNDED LIKE METAL SO I TURNED IT OFF AND CHECKED THE OIL- COMPLETELY EMPTY AGAIN. WE HAD TO POUR 4 QUARTS IN!!! IT DOES NOT HAVE A LEAK, NOTHING IS EVER SEEN WHERE IT HAS BEEN PARKED. IT IS JUST BURNING OIL LIKE CRAZY DUE TO SOME TYPE OF DEFECT FROM NISSAN THAT HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT ON LINE IF YOU GOOGLE NISSANS BURNING OIL... AND DANGEROUS SITUATIONS THAT HAVE OCCURRED . I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT FOR AN ACCIDENT, PLEASE, PLEASE, LISTEN TO ALL OF US AND GET NISSAN TO ADDRESS THIS FAILURE WITH THEIR VEHICLES. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 100,000 ON IT AND I HAVE CHANGED THE OIL EVERY 3500 MILES WITHOUT FAIL. I DID NOTHING TO CAUSE THIS ALONG WITH THE OTHER HUNDREDS TO THOUSANDS OF OTHER NISSAN OWNERS THAT HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN IN THE PAST ON MY OTHER ALTIMA ABOUT THEIR AC THAT FAILS DUE TO IT ALWAYS RUNNING WITH DEFROSTER AND IT DOESN'T TURN OFF THEN SO IT'S ALWAYS RUNNING. ALSO, I SEE MANY OTHER RUSTED OUT FLOORBOARDS, CAUSING THE PASSENGER SEAT TO NOT BE BOLTED DOWN IN THIS SAME YEAR THAT I HAD HAPPEN TO ME 2 YEARS AGO AND HAD TO SPEND $2000.00 TO FIX THAT THEY SAID THE SAME, SORRY , THIS IS NOT OUR PROBLEM. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN AN ACCIDENT, THE PASSENGER WOULD'VE NOT BEEN PROTECTED WHEN THEIR SEAT FLEW OFF. PLEASE, PLEASE GO AFTER THEM ....THEY ARE TERRIBLE.
THE CODE IS FOR CRANKSHAFT POSITIONING SENSOR FAILURE. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER DURING DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE STARTED RIGHT AFTER. ONLY PUMPING GAS PEDAL WHILE TURNING THE KEY IN IGNITION WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE FLOOR BOARDS ROTTED OUT, JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT IT, GIVE IT A FEW MORE MONTHS. I CAN BECOME FRED FLINTSTONE AND START PUSHING MY CAR AROUND WHEN THE CAMSHAFT/CRANKSHAFT SENSOR GOES OUT AGAIN. BOTH SENSORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND STILL HAD NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. BROUGHT THE CAR IN TODAY AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR YOUR CAR. THAT'S INTERESTING WHEN YOU CAN'T GO ANYWHERE AND YOU ARE SITTING AT A LIGHT WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND YOU. THAT'S WERE MEET THE FLINTSTONES COMES IN, USING FOOT POWER TO MOVE THE CAR.
I TOOK MY CAR FOR INSPECTION AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF MY FLOOR BOARD. I HAD TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED IN ORDER TO PASS INSPECTION. MY CAR IS GARAGE KEPT AND I ONLY HAVE 67,000 MILES ON MY CAR AS OF TODAY'S DATE. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR. THIS CAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION EXCEPT FOR THIS PROBLEM. I THOUGHT I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET A DECENT AMOUNT FOR A TRADE BUT WHO WOULD WANT THIS CAR. UNTIL TODAY I THOUGHT I JUST GOT A BAD CAR BUT WATCHING THE "TODAY" I KNOW THIS IS WIDE SPREAD. CAN I GET REIMBURSED FOR MY COSTS? *TR
THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOOR PANELS ARE TOTALLY RUSTED OUT WITH SIGNIFICANT HOLES EXTENDING INTO THE VEHICLE. MY RESEARCH INDICATES THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM IS A DESIGN DEFECT. RUSTING BEGAN AROUND THE DRAINAGE HOLES BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT PROPERLY SEALED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE AND IT HAS BEEN KEPT IN PRISTINE CONDITION. NISSAN IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AS THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE. THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION AS IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON. DROVE TO A REPAIR SHOP TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC ANALYSIS ON THE ENGINE. I WAS TOLD THE REASON FOR THE INDICATOR LIGHT WAS BECAUSE I HAD A BAD CRANK SENSOR. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THAT SO, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY RAN MY VIN NUMBER AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR MY CAR AND I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO HIM THEY STILL WASN'T GOING TO FIX IT. THEN I CALLED THE NISSAN RECALL PLACE AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING. SO NOW WHAT DO I SUPPOSE TO DO NOW. *TR
I TOOK MY CAR TO GET FIXED LAST WEEK AND MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THE BAD NEWS. BOTH THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVERS SIDE UNDERCARRIAGE IS COMPLETED ROTTED OUT. HE SAID NISSAN ALTIMAS ARE KNOWN FOR THIS AND HE HAS ACTUALLY FIXED 5 OF THE SAME YEAR (2003) FOR THE SAME PROBLEM OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN AND THERE ARE A MILLION COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET REGARDING THIS SAME EXACT ISSUES FOR 2003 ALTIMAS. WHY ARE THERE NO RECALLS? IT IS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE US SO IT IS NOT THE ROADWAYS AND SALT TO BLAME. NO HONDAS OR TOYOTAS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AT 83K MILES. SO I CALLED AN AUTOBODY PLACE AND ASKED THEM TO QUOTE ME THE JOB. WITHOUT EVEN TELLING THEM WHAT KIND OF CAR I HAVE, HE SAID LET ME GUESS, YOU HAVE A 2003 ALTIMA. WHAT THE HECK? TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE. I CALLED ANOTHER SHOP LOOKING FOR AT LEAST A PATCH REPLACEMENT. PER THEIR INSPECTION, THEIR ESTIMATE IS APPROX. $700.00/$800.00, TAKING AT LEAST 1 FULL DAY TO WORK ON REPAIR. DECIDED TO CHECK ON SIMILAR ISSUES ON-LINE AND MUCH TO MY SURPRISE THERE ARE MANY, MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING RUSTED FLOORBOARDS. NISSANS' RESPONSE WAS THAT SALTED ROADS WAS THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, MANY COMPLAINTS WERE FROM STATES THAT USE SAND AND/OR IN SUNSHINE STATES. I CALLED NISSAN, MY REFERENCE NO. 15121312. IN NOV 2013 THE CAR WOULD STALL (ENGINE DIES) WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR WOULD NOT START SOMETIMES AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE THE OEM WAS REPROGRAMMED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THE CAM POSITION SENSOR HAD AN INTERNAL FAILURE. ON JUN 29, 2014 OUR FAMILY OF FOUR (ALONG WITH MY WIFE AND 2 KIDS) WERE IN THIS 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT AROUND 55MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, THE ENGINE STOPPED. PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR DID NOT DO ANYTHING. CARS WERE ALL OVER THE EXPRESSWAY, ZIPPING THROUGH AT A HIGH SPEEDS. A VERY SCARY SITUATION. SOMEHOW, WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY WITHOUT ANY INCIDENT, BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY FATAL TO MY ENTIRE FAMILY. ONCE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE, I CALLED MY INSURANCE CO. TO SEND US A TOW TRUCK. WHILE I WAS PLACED ON HOLD, AFTER A FEW MINS WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND WERE ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. NEXT DAY, I CALLED NISSAN COMPANY AND TOLD THEM ABOUT MY INCIDENT AND THEY SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON MY CAR AND THEY SUGGESTED THAT I TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC. IN MAY 2014 I STARTED TO RUN MY AC UNIT AND WAS GETTING A VERY BAD SMELL FROM THE AC UNIT- THE AC UNIT WAS REPLACED LAST YEAR. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE MECHANIC THAT REPLACED THE AC UNIT LAST YEAR AND HE FOUND DEAD MICE UP IN THE AC UNIT SO HE REPLACED THE AC FILTER AND SPRAYED OUT THE CAR GOOD. MY HUSBAND WENT UNDERNEATH THE CAR YESTERDAY TO FIND THAT THE FLOOR BOARDS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CAR ARE ROTTED AND THEY ARE TWO LARGE HOLES. WE LOOKED ONLINE AT 2003 NISSAN ALTIMA'S TO FIND OUT THAT IT IS A CAR DEFECTIVE AND WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. AIR BAG SENSOR THE LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF WHEN A PASSENGER SIT IN THE SEAT. THE SENSOR WAS REPROGRAMMED IN 4/2104 . THE OCS SENSOR CONTINUES TO COME ON AND OFF STILL DEFECTED. I HAD IT RECHECKED WHEN THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN FOR A FRONT HOOD LATCH AT THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THE SENSOR ON THE AIRBAG WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND IT WOULD COST ME $700. I REFUSED TO PAY AND IT NEEDED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF FROM NISSAN AS IT IS A DEFECTED PART NOT FROM A WEAR AND TEAR. DEALERSHIP CALLED NISSAN THEY AGREED TO PAY FOR PART BUT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LABOR. I CONTACTED CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WAS TOLD VERY CONTRADICTING ANSWERS FROM THEM AND THE REGIONAL SPECIALIST. I WILL SAY THE PEOPLE I TALKED WITH SOUNDED VERY UNEDUCATED ABOUT THE PRODUCTS AND ISSUES WITH THEIR CARS. IN MORNING, STARTED CAR, DROVE DOWN ROAD SHORT DISTANCE,WENT TO STOP AT STOP SIGN AT HIGHWAY AND BRAKES WERE HARD, WOULDN'T DECOMPRESS AT ALL, SLID ONTO HIGHWAY.
