TIRE SIDEWALL BLOWOUT AT LOW SPEED FROM STOPLIGHT. OVER HALF THE TIRE SHREDDED FROM BLOWOUT.
2003 NISSA ALTIMA, RIGHT FRONT WHEEL CAME OFF. *BF THE VEHICLE FELL TO THE GROUND AND THE CONSUMER DROVE TO THE LEFT SHOULDER DRAGGING/DAMAGING VEHICLE BODY PARTS AND CAME TO REST ON THE LEFT SHOULDER. THE WHEEL ROLLED OFF TO THE RIGHT SIDE AND LANDED IN A DITCH. ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT, ALL FIVE STUDS SNAPPED OFF AND WERE MISSING; THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER WAS DENTED DUE TO THE IMPACT WITH THE GROUND; THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR WAS BENT AND THE RIGHT FRONT DISC BRAKE WAS BENT AND DENTED FROM IMPACT WITH THE GROUND; POSSIBLE UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE AS WELL. THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS OBTAINED FROM THE DITCH. THE WERE TWO LUG NUTS WITH THE STUDS STILL ATTACHED TO THE WHEEL. OHIO TRAFFIC CRASH REPORT # 10-0702-90. UPDATED LETTER 04/29/10 *BF
ON JUNE 1, 2007 PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES AND VALVES FROM BOB'S TIRE SERVICE IN MARTINSBURG WV. ON AUGUST 1, 2008 I HAD A FLAT TIRE ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER RETURNING HOME ON THE SPAR I REINFLATED THE FLAT AND FOUND THE VALVE LEAKING. THE TIRE SIDEWALL WAS DAMAGED AND THE TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED. ON AUG 10, 2008 ANOTHER TIRE FROM THE SAME SET WENT FLAT. THIS TIME IT WAS AT LOW SPEED, THE VALVE HAD FAILED AGAIN. ON AUG, 18 2008 A THIRD TIRE FROM THE SET WENT FLAT ON I95 IN VIRGINIA. ONCE AGAIN IT WAS A BAD VALVE, CRACKED AND LEAKING THAT CAUSED THE TIRE TO FAIL. THE ONE REMAINING VALVE WAS REPLACED BEFORE IT FAILED, IT WAS A DILL TR414 VALVE ACCORDING TO BOB'S TIRE THEY WOULD HAVE ALL BEEN DILL VALVES.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE HAVE BEEN TOO MANY RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND EACH NEW RECALL WAS MORE SEVERE. CURRENTLY A NOTIFICATION FOR RECALL # 06V242000 WAS RECEIVED FOR THE ELECTRICAL CONTROL MODULE CRANK ANGLE SENSOR, THAT MAY CAUSE THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING TO ILLUMINATE AND RESULT IN THE ENGINE STOPPING WHILE DRIVING. THE FIRST RECALL WAS FOR A REPLACEMENT OF A SUB MEMBER WHICH MAY CAUSED A CRASH. THE NEXT RECALL WAS FOR THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE FOLLOWING RECALL FOR THE HEADLIGHTS WHICH HAD A DEFECTIVE GROUND. THE RECALL AFTER WAS REGARDING A STABILIZING BAR. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY BEEN THE THEIR POSSESSION FOR 3 YEARS AND THERE WERE 4 RECALLS ALREADY. THE TIRES WERE RECENTLY REPLACED WHERE THE INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP TECHNICIAN DETERMINED THAT ALL FOUR STEEL WHEEL RIMS WERE EXCESSIVELY RUSTED WHICH WAS COMMON FOR VEHICLES OF THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL.
