I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH NO TITLE AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET A TITLE FOR IT. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THE PROCESS IS.
MELTING AND STICKY DASH BOARD & AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, IT STARTED TO MAKE "GRINDING" MOVEMENTS AND STOPPED MOVING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS LUCKY THAT I DIDN'T CRASH. I'M FILING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE OF THE VARIOUS PROBLEMS I'VE HAD WITH THIS CVT TRANSMISSION -- INCLUDING WHEEZING NOISES AND SHIFTING PROBLEMS AND NOW COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. CALLED NISSAN THEY REFUSE TO HELP BECAUSE MY CAR HAS 132K MILES AND THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY GOES TO 120K. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 5 YEARS. IT'S ONLY 8 YEARS OLD. THEY INSTITUTED THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY DUE TO SO MANY COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT. BUT I'M OVER THE WARRANTY AND NOW I'M ON THE HOOK FOR 4K IN TRANSMISSION REPAIR. I FEEL THIS IS UNFAIR AS I HAVE MAINTAINED MY VEHICLE.
I OWN A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA (VIN# [XXX]). I HAVE TO TWO QUESTIONS FOR YOU: 1) WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THE DASHBOARDS TOWARDS THEIR STICKINESS & MELTING? ESPECIALLY SINCE TOYOTA RECALLED THEIRS BECAUSE OF THAT. 2) WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THE TPMS? IT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. WITH IT ON ALL THE TIME, HOW ARE SUPPOSED TO TELL WHEN THE AIR IS LOW. IF I TURN IT OFF, IT WON'T COME BACK ON EVEN WHEN THE TIRES ARE LOW. IF I REPLACE ONE, I HAVE TO REPLACE ALL OF THEM. THE FACTORY SOUND SYSTEM FACE PLATE IS BLISTERING. THIS MAY BE CAUSED BY RADIO OVERHEAT OR SOME TYPE OF SHORT. THE RADIO WORKS FINE
GLUE IS BLEEDING THRU THE DASH ON MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. IT IS CAUSING A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT MAKES IT HARD TO SEE, SO BAD THAT I HAVE TO LEAN OVER TO FIND A SPOT THAT DOES NOT AFFECT MY VISION OF THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF OR COMING TOWARDS ME. THIS IS A ROAD HAZARD AND LEFT UNATTENDED WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE A WRECK. I ALSO HAVE A COUPLE OF OTHER PROBLEMS, THE FRONT SEATS ARE LOOSE AND SLID WHEN I HAD TO SLAM ON MY BRAKESFEEL AND I AM NOT AT ALL COMFORTABLE THAT IF I HAD AN ACCIDENT THAT THIS WOULD ATTRIBUTE TO ADDITIONAL INJURY. ALSO, I HAVE HAD THE LOW TIRE SCENSOR REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE TO ONLY HAVE IT COME BACK ON AT WHICH TIME I FOUND OUT THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR MODEL, WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE HAD THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG, INSTEAD OF TAKING MY MONEY. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT ALL THREE OF THE PROBLEMS I HAVE ARE KNOWN PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPEATEDLY REPORTED TO NISSAN ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY ARE NOT RECALLS AND ARE EXTREMELY HIGH IN COST OUT OF POCKET. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO THEM FOR TWO YEARS TO NO AVAIL. THEY SENT ME TO A DEALER IN TOWN AT ONE POINT WHO REITERATED TO ME VERBATIM WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THEM ONLINE AFTER HE GAVE THE DASH A QUICK LOOK. I LIVE IN LOUISIANA, I TRAVEL TO TEXAS SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR. THAT IS WHEN THE PROBLEM WITH THE DASH STARTED. NO WAY TO CLEAN, IT IS ONE BIG STICKY MESS AND ONLY GETTING WORSE. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, THEY WERE HAPPY TO TAKE MY MONEY, THE LEAST THEY COULD DO IS FIX KNOWN PROBLEMS. TOYOTA RECALLED ONE OF THEIR VEHICLES WITH THE SAME BLEEDING GLUE DASH PROBLEM. NISSAN SHOULD BE AS FORTHCOMING WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS, WON'T BUY ANOTHER, WILL SERIOUSLY AFFECT THE RESALE VALUE OF THIS ONE. SHAME ON NISSAN! MY FORMAL COMPLAINT SIGNED, SEALED AND DELIVERED!
The dashboard in my 2008 Nissan Altima has been melting, cracking and deteriorating. When it is warm outside, It’s sticky to the touch and becomes glossy causing a major glare on my windshield plus, if I graze a finger nail across it when wiping it for dust or cleaning the windshield it comes apart showing nicks and indentations. I looked this up on the web today and apparently there was a class action lawsuit filed against Nissan that was settled in 2017 for 2008 and 2009 models but on for those folks living in Florida. I live in North Carolina. I started to notice this in 2016 but didn’t give it much thought because the car is garage kept and I have a company car so I only drive this vehicle now sparingly (mainly on weekends). You can’t see how sticky it is by the photos so I took my car registration paper and stuck it to the dash. The dash when warm has a “sticky note” type feel to it. The hotter it gets the more glazed and sticky the dashboard becomes. 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH A MELTING DASHBOARD. VISIBILITY IS BLINDING BY GLARE FROM SHINY DASHBOARD. COST TO REPLACE DASH IS ALMOST $2000.
CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW AND IN SERVICE 7/12/2008. CAR HAS GONE THROUGH 4 TRANSMISSIONS WITH LAST TRANSMISSION PUT IN 7/27/2016. CAR ONLY HAS 129K MILES. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION AS CAR HAS SHUTTERED AND STALLED AND I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION. NISSAN DOESN'T SEEM TO BE TOO CONCERNED - MY HUSBAND AND I TRIED TO CONTACT THE CEO OF NISSAN NORTH AMERICA ([XXX]) BUT COULDN'T GET PAST "[XXX]" IN THE EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT. SHE TOLD MY HUSBAND AND I ON A RECORDED LINE THAT SHE REPORTS TO [XXX]. BUT ONLY LATER, AFTER CONTINUING TO PRESS THE ISSUE, SHE ACKNOWLEDGED SHE DOESN'T REPORT TO HIM. ADDITIONALLY, SHE LAUGHED AT MY HUSBAND AND I AS WE DISCUSSED THIS VERY REAL ISSUE (AGAIN...ON A RECORDED LINE....YOU SHOULD SUBPOENA THE TAPES). NO VEHICLE, UNLESS YOU ARE IN A DEMOLITION DERBY, SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH 4 TRANSMISSIONS IN 129K MILES. WE ASKED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA TO PROVIDE US WITH OUR CAR'S SERVICE HISTORY AND THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY CANNOT ACCESS THIS AND THE NEVER PROVIDED IT TO US. I DON'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY TOLD ME. I TRIED TO ATTACH A PDF OF MY LETTER TO NISSAN NORTH AMERICA/[XXX] ...BUT IT IS 6.7M (TOO BIG). NONETHELESS....I'LL BE HAPPY TO SHARE IT WITH YOU UPON REQUEST.. MY LOCAL SERVICE GARAGE HAS LOCATED 2 HOLES IN MY EXHAUST SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS FUMES INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE HOLES ARE A WELD POINTS. MY MECHANIC THOUGHT THAT THERE WAS A WARRENTY RECALL. WE REPAIRED IT ONCE AND WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE EXHAUST THIS TIME.
MY DASH BECAME SHINY AND STICKY OVER A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I FIRST TRIED SOAP AND WATER AND THEN GOOBEGONE. AND NOTHING WOULD HELP IT. IT LOOKS AS IF IT IS MELTING. IT IS PARKED IN THE GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME. THE SHINYNESS IS REFLECTING ON THE WINDSHIELD AT TIMES AND MAKES IT VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE THROUGH IT VERY WELL.
MY DASH BOARD IS MELTING FROM THE HEAT AND CRACKING ALL AROUND. MY PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT KEEP COMING ON ALONG WITH TIRE SENSOR. HAD SENSOR REPLACE SEVERAL TIME AND HAVE SAME ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.
STICKY SUBSTANCE ON DASH/ 2ND TRANSMISSION IS GIVING ME PROBLEMS
THE DASHBOARD IN MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2008 IS MELTING, CRACKING AND VERY STICKY WITH A BRIGHT SHINING GLARE THAT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE.
ANOTHER MELTING DASHBOARD; THIS TIME IN NORTH ALABAMA. IT'S STARTING FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN IN PICTURES THE NORMAL STARTING PLACES, WHICH IS AT THE DEFROST AIR VENTS, THE LEDGE BETWEEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND DEFROST AIR VENTS (WHERE THE DASH APPEARS AS A TWO PIECE COMES TOGETHER) AND RIGHT ABOVE THE THREE AIR VENTS. THE GLARE IT CREATES ON MY WINDSHIELD IS UNBEARABLE, AND MAKING VISIBILITY VERY POOR.
DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND CRACKING TO THE POINT WHERE I CAN SEE THE FOAM MATERIAL THAT THE DASH IS MADE OUT OF MAKE SEEING OUT THE WINDSHIELD VERY DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY WHEN COMING OUT OF A TUNNEL DURING THE DAY AND NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE MOMENTARILY MAKING DRIVING VERY DIFFICULT. BOUGHT A DASH COVER TO HOPEFULLY SLOW DOWN THE PROCESS AND SO I COULD SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD CLEARLY. ALSO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT DOES LIGHTS UP INTERMITTENTLY WHEN NO ONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. BOUGHT THE CAR, 2008 ALTIMA COUPE, IN NORTH FLORIDA AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN FLORIDA, GEORGIA AND HAWAII, WHERE I CURRENTLY LIVE, YEAR ROUND. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS AND HAVE LESS THAN 75000 MILES.
MY CAR WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN I TRIED TO START IT. A YELLOW LIGHT WITH A KEY APPEARED IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE DASH. THE CAR WOULDN'T START. WE RESEARCHED THE WARNING LIGHT AND TRIED EVERYTHING SUGGESTED SUCH AS DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY, DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY, ETC. WITH NO LUCK. I HAVE TO DRIVE TO A CONFERENCE 4 HOURS AWAY TOMORROW AND NOW HAVE NO CAR.
THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO CLASSIFY THE SIZE AND WEIGHT OF THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER AND, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THE SOFTWARE IS INCORRECTLY CLASSIFYING THE PASSENGER SEAT AS EMPTY WHEN IT IS OCCUPIED BY AN ADULT. IT HAPPENS WHEN IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. IT HAPPENS ON A STREET AND ALSO ON THE HIGHWAY. IT IS INTERMITTENT WHEN IT HAPPENS AND IT CANNOT BE DUPLICATED UPON REQUEST BUT IT DOES HAPPEN CONSISTENTLY. I HAVE SUBMITTED OTHER REQUESTS IN THE PAST BUT WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE OTHER RECALLS AT THAT TIME. (JULY 2011). I ALSO OWN A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AND JUST RECEIVED A NHTSA RECALL 16V-244 RECALL NOTICE FOR THE SAME THING.
DASH BOARD IS MELTING AND CRACKING NOW FALLING APART
THE DASHBOARD OF MY VEHICLE IS MELTING AND CAUSING A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT MAKES IT HARD TO SEE ESPECIALLY IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE IN MY VEHICLE FOR YEARS. THERE HAS ALREADY BEEN A LAWSUIT THAT WAS SETTLED IN FLORIDA WHERE I PREVIOUSLY LIVED BUT NOTHING WAS SENT OUT TO INFORM DRIVERS OF THIS. THE TIME FRAME FOR THAT SETTLEMENT HAS NOW PASSED AND I HAVE MOVED TO ANOTHER STATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SEVERE VIBRATION AFTER BEING STARTED AND WHILE BEING OPERATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE MOUNT BOLT WAS STRIPPED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE SUN ROOF DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BOLT MISSING IN THE SUN ROOF AND, DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS, CAUSED CORROSION OF THE SUN ROOF. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL SOUND FROM THE SUN ROOF AREA. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 99,000.
ALL I COULD SAY I WILL NEVER BY A NISSAM CAR. AGAIN IN TILL UR FIX THE PROBLEMS ITS TRANSMISSION EVEY BODY I TALK TO ITS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN ALTIMA
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ROLLED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES AND CRASHED INTO A SIGN. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT LOST CONSCIOUSNESS AND SUSTAINED FACE, HEAD, NECK, SHOULDER, AND KNEE INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 191,000.
DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND VERY STICKY BOTH OF WHICH CAUSE A HORRIFIC GLARE IN THE SUN.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY CLEANING SUBSTANCE PUT ON THE DASHBOARD. MY CAR SITS OUT IN THE SUN AS I DO NOT HAVE GARAGE OR CARPORT. THE GLARE FROM THE DASHBOARD CREATES A HAZARD AS THERE IS A GLARE WHILE YOUR ARE DRIVING. *TR
MY NISSAN ALTIMA HAS THE DASHBOARD MELTING WHICH MAKES IT VISIBLE THRU THE WINDSHIELD WHICH MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. I'VE ALMOST HAD 4 NEAR CAR ACCIDENTS WHERE THE MELTING DASHBOARD WAS THE ISSUE.
Dashboard is cracking, sticky, gooey and melting in places
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING RECURRING ISSUES INVOLVING THE GAS PEDAL FAILING TO WORK IN MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHETHER ON THE HIGHWAY, AT A STOP SIGN, OR MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY THE GAS PEDAL WILL UNEXPECTEDLY FAIL TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. I WILL PRESS THE PEDAL WITH ABSOLUTE NO ACCELERATION FROM THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TO FLOOR THE PEDAL TO GET MINIMAL EXCELERATION BEFORE THE CAR SUDDENLY PICKS UP SPEED. I HAVE ALMSOT BEEN REAR ENDED WHILE AWAITING FOR THE CAR TO ACCELERATE TO PROPER TAKE OFF SPEED. I HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECKED AND A TUNE UP DONE... STILL TRYING TO ASSESS WHATS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE.
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE I HEAR A LOUD WHINING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING AT B ALL TIMES. AND WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL THE WHINING DRIVETRAIN NOISE FROM TRANSMISSION GOES AWAY. I ALSO HEAR A RATTLING NOISE FROM CENTER EXHAUST AT IDOL AND NOTICE CATALYTIC CONVERTER PIPE HAS RUSTED OUT NEAR ENGINE FLEX PIPE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED HIM TO GO TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED PER A RECALL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THEIR AIR BAG RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP SIGN, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED USING A TRANSMISSION KIT; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE BECAME SEVERE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,666.
MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA CVT TRANSMISSION QUITE ON ME AND MY FAMILY AND LEFT US STRANDED AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR A TAXI TO TAKE ME MY WIFE AND KIDS HOME AND WE WERE GROCERIE SHOPPING 30 MILES FROM HOME AND WE WERE STRANDED ON A COUNTY RD ##
MY TPMS LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW, AND THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THE SYSTEM IS READING ZERO PSI IN ALL TIRES. THEY SAID IT WAS A PART OF THE SYSTEM THAT NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT AND DOESN'T WANT TO ADDRESS IT. SO IF I WANT IT FIXED ITS GONNA COST ME OVER $200. MY WIFE WHO HAS A 2009 MURANO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE TPMS LIGHT BEING ON AND READING ZERO PSI IN ALL TIRES.
A PASSENGER SITTING CAUSES THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO FLASH AND TURNS OFF THE AIRBAG? IF THE SEAT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME OCS CONTROL UNIT, MY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED. I DO KNOW THAT FLORIDA OWNERS WON A CASE AGAINST NISSAN TO HAVE THERE DASHBOARD REPLACED THAT COST THEM $250.00. BUT THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA STATES THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS IS ONLY 7 YEARS. I TALKED WITH AN ATTORNEY ABOUT TAKING ON A CASE AGAINST NISSAN TO HAVE OURS REPLACED, BUT NO TAKER BECAUSE OF THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS. ALSO, I NOTICED THAT TEXAS HAS A PENDING SUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THE RESIDENTS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS. I HAVE 2 PICTURES ATTACHED FOR YOUR REVIEW. THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE HAS STARTED MELTING. THE GLARE FROM THE SUN ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE ON A SUNNY DAY IN LATE AFTERNOON. I KNOW THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR THIS IN FLORIDA, BUT I LIVE IN TENNESSEE.
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND A STICKY SUBSTANCE IS CAUSING A SERIOUS GLARE THAT OBSCURES THE VISIBILITY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. THE MELTING DASHBOARD IS SPREADING DUE TO SUN SLIGHT EXPOSURE AND HEAT. THE DEFECTIVE DASH BOARDS HAS BEEN REPORTED WIDELY BY MANY AUTO OWNERS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR REPLACEMENT DUE TO FAULTY ENGINEERING AND RESULTING IS VISIBILITY GLARE/OBSTRUCTION.

5 YRS AGO THE SOUND OF MY ENGINE CHANGED AND UPON INSPECTION THE WELDING ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED. I WAS INFORMED BY PEMBROKE PINES NISSAN THAT SINCE CAR IS AT 38,500 MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY DESPITE IT BEING A MANUFACTURE FAILURE IT WOULD SET ME BACK $975. I DIDN'T HAVE THE REPAIR DONE. FOR THE PAST 3 YRS, MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL TURN OFF AND ON EVEN IRREGARDLESS IF SOMEONE IS IN THE SEAT OR NOT. FURTHERMORE, THE RADIO WILL GO BLANK OR HAVE ILLEGIBLE CHARACTERS ON IT. I TOO HAVE THE MELTING DASH ISSUE AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF TIMES I SLIPPED AND MY FINGER NAIL HAS GOUGED OUT PIECES OF DASH BOARD. IT'S AMAZING THAT LEXUS HAS ISSUED A RECALL ON THEIR MELTING DASH BOARD ON THE IS250 & IS350 ISSUES BUT NISSAN COULD CARE LESS ABOUT ITS BRAND OR REPUTATION; I GUESS THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE COMPANY ISN'T WHOLE JAPANESE OWNED.
UPON MY DAUGHTER ARRIVING AFTER A 300 MILE DRIVE, I SEE AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF CHEMICAL/GLUE?? SEEPING FROM HER FRONT DASHBOARD. ITS AS IF DASHBOARD IS MELTING. IN TURN THE MELTED DASHBOARD REFLECT A HUGE AMOUNT OF SUNLIGHT UP TO WINDSHIELD WHICH IN TURN CAUSES LIGHT BLINDNESS WHILE DRIVING NOT TO MENTION POSSIBLE TOXICITY ISSUES. VERY UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION AND ENVIRONMENTALLY HARMFUL. NISSAN CORP. SHOULD BE MADE TO REMEDY THIS FOR LIFE AND HEALTH ISSUES.

TL* THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CONYERS NISSAN IN CONYERS, GA WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A TUNE-UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO CONYERS NISSAN IN CONYERS, GA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.

DRIVING 75 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY 2 SMALL CHILDREN AGES 1 & 3 MY CAR LOST ALL POWER WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I FIND THIS TO BE A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS WE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT IN AN ACCIDENT. I SEE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS, BUT SEE NO RECALL FOR IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.

WHEN AN ADULT IS SETTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT WILL PERIODICALLY GO ON. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR YEARS. ST. CHARLES NISSAN TECH FOUND OCCUPANT SENSOR FAILURE TO BE CAUSING THE ISSUE. THERE IS A RECALL INVOLVING THIS ISSUE, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V521000. MY CAR'S VIN IS NOT PART OF THE OPEN RECALL, HOWEVER, SINCE IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE SAME YEAR VEHICLE, I WONDERED IF THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED. I HAVE NOT BEEN INFORMED AT WHAT VIN THEY STOPPED IN THE RECALL.
THE DASHBOARD SEEMS TO BE MELTING. THE DASHBOARD APPEARS VERY SHINY AND IS STICKY TO THE TOUCH. THE SHINY DASHBOARD CREATES A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES VISIBILITY. THE STICKINESS ALSO TRAPS DUST, DIRT, ETC. ADDING TO THE REFLECTION ON THE GLASS.
