DASH IS CRACKING AND DASH MATERIAL IS BECOMING SOFT AND SEMI-STICKY. IT IS NOT YET TO THE POINT OF BEING MELTED AND PRODUCING GLARE LIKE 2008/2009 MODELS BUT IS QUICKLY HEADED IN THAT DIRECTION. CAR IS GARAGED WHEN NOT IN USE.
THE MATERIAL THE DASH IS MADE FROM GETS EXTREMELY HOT AND MELTS, AND THE UPPER DASH HAS A GLARE THAT SHINES AND COMES OFF THE DASH INTO THE WINDSHIELD AREA & CAUSES A MAJOR DISTRACTION FROM THE GLARE. MY 20-YR OLD DRIVES THIS CAR AND HAS ALMOST CRASHED DUE TO THE GLARE. THE DASH NEEDS REPLACED. I TRIED A PHOTO, BUT DOES NOT SHOW THE GLARE.
THE VEHICLE HAS DEVELOPED AN OVERLY REFLECTIVE FINISH ON MOST OF THE PLASTIC/RUBBERIZED DASHBOARD SURFACES, LIKELY DUE TO NORMAL SUN AND/OR HEAT EXPOSURE. THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY CONCERN, AS THE DRIVER IS DISTRACTED BY REFLECTED LIGHT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE.
MY CAR LOSES POWER ON THE FREEWAY AND IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I TYPICALLY DRIVE ON NORTH DALLAS TOLLWAY IN DFW AREA AND THE OTHER DAY I HAD TO EXIT BECAUSE ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR LOST POWER AFTER DRIVING ON FREEWAY FOR 60 MILES. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING INTERMITTENT ISSUE SINCE DAY ONE. I FOUND ONLINE THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT REFUSED TO REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE THERE WAS A GLARE FROM THE SUN LIGHT REFLECTING OFF THE MELTING DASHBOARD POSING A VISIBILITY HAZARD TO THE DRIVER. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER JACKIE COOPER LOCATED AT 9898 S MEMORIAL DR, TULSA, OK 74133 WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
AFTER BUYING THE CAR IN LATE 2019, IT CAME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY. I LATER FOUND THAT THE YEAR, MODEL, AND MAKE OF MY VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A RECALL OF THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS, AMONG OTHER SAFTEY ISSUES. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY THREE DIFFERENT SHOPS, THE CONCLUSION WAS MADE THAT IT WAS INDEED THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND STEPPER MOTOR CAUSING THE PROBLEMS. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION, IT WAS FOUND THAT MY VEHICLE HAS NOT HAD A RECALL REPLACEMENT OF THE FAULTY PARTS AS OF YET. THE CAR HAS ONLY 96K MILES ON IT. WHEN THE ISSUE ARISES, THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO A "SAFE" MODE. THIS MODE CREATES A THROTTLE PROBLEM AS THE VEHICLE CANNOT TRAVEL FASTER THAN 40 MPH WITHOUT A HIGH PITCH WIND UP SOUND AND A CUT IN POWER OF ALMOST 50%.
ERROR CODES THROUGH SENSOR WARNINGS, I REPLACE ONE SENSOR NOW ANOTHER SENSOR ERROR. I'M ABOUT 1000.00 IN REPLACING ELECTRICIAL ISSUES AND MECHANIC SAYS THE CAR IS HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND HE CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. CAR WON'T RUN LONGER THAN 30 MINS. REPLACED CRANK SHAFT SENSOR AND APP SENSOR.
I BOUGHT A NISSAN ALTIMA 2010 WHICH I THOUGHT WAS SHINNY DUE TO CLEANING TO REALIZED LATER THAT IT IS ACTUALLY STICKY BECAUSE IT IS DEFECTIVE. IT GETS WORSE AFTER IT IS EXPOSED TO HEAT. THE SHADE COVER STICKS TO THE DASHBOARD AND LEAVES PARTICLES ATTACHED TO IT, THE WORSE THING IS THE REFLECTION OR GLARE IT CREATES WHEN DRIVING IN THE SUN. IT MAKES HARD TO SEE FORWARDS.
The dashboard is sticky and melty. It has also cracked open continuously from left to right across the entire front face of the dashboard. It continues to widen such that I can see some of the inside of the dashboard. There was a class action settlement made for 2008-2009 Altimas and this exact problem of melty and sticky dashboard. The car is available for inspection upon request. There are three primary concerns regarding this dashboard 1. glare from the melt causing accidents, 2. reduced function of safety systems, and 3. off gassing of plastic components proven to be carcinogenic.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE FLOORBOARD UNDER THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT WAS HEATING UP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN ORDER TO COOL DOWN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING START THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES WHEN CAR IS ON WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. WAS TOLD ITS THE SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION AND THE WHOLE CUSHION HAS TO BE REPLACED. AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF NOT FIXED ASAP. VERY FRUSTRATING...AT A COST OVER $1000.00.
VEHICLE WAS GARAGED FOR FIRST FOUR YEARS IN NEW YORK. NOW IN FLORIDA FOR 6 YRS. AND DASHBOARD IS MELTING MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE ON SUNNY DAYS. I FEAR HAVING AN ACCIDENT AS THE GLARE FROM THE MELTED DASHBOARD IS OBSTRUCTING MY VIEW. ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT BREATHING THESE CHEMICALS.*DT CONSUMER STATED SHE DID NOT HERE ANYTHING REGARDING THE COMPLAINT.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL CONSUMPTION FRACTURED AND WAS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000.
THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS AREN'T WORKING. ONLY THE FRONT PASSENGER AND BACK DRIVERS SIDE WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB OR SWITCHES. THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE WILL LOCK WITH THE FOB AND SWITCH, BUT IT WON'T UNLOCK. DRIVERS SIDE HAS TO BE LOCKED AND UNLOCKED MANUALLY.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHILST TURNING AT AT A JUNCTION. BACK END OF THE VEHICLE SWUNG OUT OF THE TURN AS IF ON ICE. STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR RIGHT-HAND WHEEL WAS BENT AS IF THE WHEEL WAS FALLING OFF. ON FURTHER INSPECTION I DISCOVERED THE REAR SUBFRAME HAD BROKEN UP.
THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS CLOGGED CAUSING CAR TO NOT HAVE ANY POWER.IT HAPPENED COMING OFF THE FWY .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALL NISSAN CHESAPEAKE (3417 WESTERN BRANCH BLVD, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23321, (877) 475-0728) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE WAS LEAKING FLUID, BOTH CONTROL ARMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE WAS NOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,194.
AROUND 20 MPH WHEN BRAKING TO A STOP THE RPMS DO NOT GO DOWN AND THE CAR CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO BRAKE HARD OR PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO STOP. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT EVENT- ONCE EVERY 5- 6 MONTHS.
THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH HAS FAILED ON OUR 2010 ALTIMA 2.5. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSANS AND IS IN FACT THE SUBJECT OF A NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN, NUMBER NTB10-139. THE DEFECTIVE ORIGINAL NISSAN SWITCH CAUSES A NO START SITUATION IF IT OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING, AND FAILURE OF THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO LIGHT WHEN BRAKING IF IT OCCURS WHILE DRIVING. NISSAN HAS RELEASED A REVISED SWITCH TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE ORIGINAL DESIGN, BUT IN REVIEWING TRANSPORTATION.GOV AND CONTACTING THE DEALER, THERE IS NO RECALL OR MANUFACTURER VOLUNTARY CAMPAIGN TO REMEDY THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF COMPLETING THE REPAIR AT OUR OWN EXPENSE AND MY INITIATE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST NISSAN USA IF THERE IS NOT ALREADY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRUNK WOULD NOT OPEN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UNITED NISSAN (3025 E, NV-589, LAS VEGAS, NV 89104, (702) 832-5480) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.
DASHBOARD IS MELTING/INCREDIBLY STICKY. CREATES A GLARE ON WINDSHIELD, PARTICULARLY ON SUNNY/BRIGHT DAYS, THAT CAN MAKE IT DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I'VE HEARD THAT OLDER MODELS HAVE THIS PROBLEM.
TRANSMISSION SKIPPING
MY STRUTS BEGINNING TO SOUND HORRIBLE. I WAS TRAVELING AND AS I WOULD SPEED UP THE RPMS WOULD GO HIGHER MAKING A WHISTLING NOISE. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WENT HAD IT PUT ON A COMPUTER AND IT'S SAID TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID.
MY CAR IS SHOWING A CRACK WHICH STARTED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD AND HAS SLOWLY STRETCHED ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE OTHER END. I NEED MY CAR FOR TRANSPORT AND AM AFRAID THAT ONE DAY THE DASHBOARD COULD OPEN UP WHILE I AM DRIVING, WHICH COULD CAUSE MAJOR DAMAGE TO ME AND MY GRANDDAUGHTERS. I AM A SENIOR WITH NO INCOME AT THIS TIME AND UNABLE TO MAKE ANY UPGRADES OR REPAIRS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU CAN DO OR IF I NEED TO REACH OUT TO ANYONE ELSE THAT CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. *TR
DASH BOARD IS MELTING AND CREATING SHINY SURFACE WHICH CREATES A GLARE ON WINDSHIELD. DEPENDING ON TIME OF THE DAY AND ANGLE OF THE SUN, THAT GLARE PREVENTS CLEAR VISION TO THE ROAD. LAW SUIT FOR SIMILAR ISSUE WAS ALREADY APPROVED IN FLORIDA AND NISSAN REPLACED DASH BOARDS FOR FLORIDA RESIDENTS. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO FIX IT EVEN IT RELATES TO SAFETY AND VISIBILITY. THIS ISSUE IS WIDESPREAD AND CAN NOT BE TREATED AS STATE WISE. ALSO I AM NOT SURE IF THIS MELTING DASHBOARD IS CREATING ANY HARMFUL FUMES THAT I NEED TO BE WORRIED ABOUT. I HAVE ATTACHED IMAGE AND CAN SHARE MORE IMAGE IF NEEDED. DEPENDING ON TIME AND ANGLE OF THE SUN THIS GETS EVEN WORSE WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AN SUN HITS THE DASH BOARD AT CERTAIN ANGLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER AND EXIT THE VEHICLE WHILE THE VEHICLE BURNED TO THE GROUND. THE FLAMES CAME FROM DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. SMOKE FIRST SHOWED AND THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER BEFORE THE FLAMES QUICKLY APPEARED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE 2 PASSENGERS INJURED THAT DID NOT REQUIRE HOSPITALIZATION. THE TYPES OF INJURIES WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
2010 ALTIMA WITH A MELTING AND CRACKING DASH BOARD SINCE I'VE MOVED TO FLORIDA. THE GLARE IMPAIRS VISUAL FIELD AND PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS.
CATALYTIC CONVERTER ENGINE LIGHT
RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE STRUT INSULATOR MANUFACTURED OUT OF SPECIFICATION RESULTING IN A POTENTIAL FOR THE STRUT INSULATOR TO CRACK. CAR WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION.
MY CAR HESITATES TO PULL OUT UNTIL OVER 20 MPH I HAVE THE CVT TRANSMISSION WHICH IS THROWING A CODE I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A CAR LOT!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD MELTED AND WAS STICKY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLES NISSAN (239-300-2765, LOCATED AT 3640 PINE RIDGE ROAD, NAPLES, FL 34109) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER DISCONTINUED THE FREE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NO LONGER REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,000.
Sensor in the front passenger seat is out making the airbag light blink in the cluster panel. I was told by the Nissan dealership that I would need a whole new seat and that would cost over $1000.
2010 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE DASHBOARD IS MELTING. NUMEROUS COMPLAINS ARE IN ONLINE THREADS BUT NISSAN IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY. THIS ISSUE IS EXPEIRENCED IN YEARS FROM 2008 TO 2013. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BY NISSAN. ONLY OCCURS IN HOT CLIMATE.
STEERING LOCK INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON AND ENGINE WILL NOT START. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES NOW IN THE LAST 2 MOS, ALWAYS ON COLD TEMP MORNINGS. LATER THE LIGHT WILL GO OUT AND THE ENGINE WILL START...EXCEPT THIS TIME, LATER THE ENGINE STARTED WITH THE STEERING LOCK LIGHT WILL NOT GO OUT EVEN WHEN RUNNING.
DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND CRACKING, CAUSING A STICKY GLARING PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING. NISSAN REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT WHEN CONTACTED.
THE VERY FIRST ISSUE WAS VEHICLE SHUT DOWN ON ITS OWN WHILE IN AIRPORT TRAFFIC. IT RESTARTED RIGHT AWAY BUT CUTS OFF IMMEDIATELY YOU PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE STARTED AND DROVE FINE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THE ISSUE STARTED AGAIN. WHEN I TOOK IT TO GET CHECKED OUT THE PROBLEM REFUSED TO REPLICATE. THE CURRENT ISSUE NOW IS THAT THE RPM JUMPS UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV UP WHILE VEHICLE DE-ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. VEHICLE SOMETIMES RUNS LIKE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS ENGAGED. WHEN YOU PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE IT TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO ENGAGE THE GEAR.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING INTERMITTENTLY WHEN CAR IS ON.
VEHICLE WILL NOT GO PAST 60 MPH, THEN WITHIN 24 HOURS WOULD NOT GO PAST 40 MPH, WITHIN 24 MORE HOURS, VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH AND HAS EXTREME POWER LOSS. WAS EVALUATED BY TRANSMISSION SHOP WHO CONFIRMED THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING STALLING ISSUES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION IN MY CAR FOR OVER A YEAR. TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP HERE WHERE I LIVE ON 12/17 FOR THE ISSUE ONLY RECEIVED A CHANGE OF FLUID NO ERROR CODES. SPENT ALMOST 300.00 THAT DAY. TOOK IT BACK AGAIN ON 1/18 FOR THE SAME ISSUE, NOT EVEN A MONTH APART. WAS TOLD THAT FROM THE VIDEO I SHOWED THE NISSAN WORKER IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION GOING BAD. I HAD TO PAY 110.00 TO HOOK IT UP TO THE MACHINE THIS DAY. AFTER LEAVING MY CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A WEEK I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT HONOR THE 120,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM OR PULL ANY ERROR CODES. THEY PERFORMED AN UPDATE TO THE TRANSMISSION WHICH THEY STATED WAS NEEDED AND THAT "SHOULD" FIX THE ISSUE. FAST FORWARD TO 11/3/18 LESS THAN 3000 MILES LATER IT'S STALLING AGAIN AND WON'T GO PAST 5 MPH WITH THE GAS PADDLE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR ON A FLAT SURFACE STREET. I HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE THERE WERE CARS BEHIND ME AND IT WAS AN UNSAFE SITUATION. I HAVE DOCUMENTED ALL OF THIS AND HAVE VIDEOS TO PROVE EVERYTHING THAT I SPEAK OF. THERE WAS A TIME WHERE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND DOING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 70 AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR SLOWED DOWN ON ITS OWN TO 50 AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I HAD TO TRY TO MAKE IT OVER TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT GETTING HIT BY 18 WHEELERS ZOOMING PAST ME. THAT IN ITSELF IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR ME.
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. YOU CAN'T PUT ANYTHING ON IT OR EVEN TOUCH IT WITHOUT GETTING A VERY STICKY RESIDUE ON YOUR HANDS. IT IS ALSO A MAJOR HAZARD WHEN IT IS SUNNY OUT. WHEN THE SUN HITS THE MELTING PART OF THE DASH, I AM BLINDED. NISSAN NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING & REPLACE THESE DASHBOARDS. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING ISSUES.APPARENTLY EVERYONE DRIVING THIS CAR IN THE SOUTHERN STATES IS HAVING THIS ISSUE.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE BUCKING TOOK TO NISSAN DEALER WAS TOLD 1 IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUGS PAID TO HAVE THEM REPLACED BUT ALSO HAD MENTIONED IT SMELT LIKE RAW EGGS TO THE DEALER. A FEW MONTHS LATER SAME THING TOOK TO DEALER SAID ANOTHER IGNITION COIL I APPROVED FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE REMAINING 3 IGNITION COILS SO I WOULDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN AND AGAIN I TOLD THEM THAT IT SMELT LIKE RAW EGGS. NOW THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT IS ON AND THE CODE IS FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR. WAS TOLD THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WENT OUT IN APRIL. I WOULD LIKE SOME ASSISTANCE WITH THIS. ALL THE ISSUES WAS WHEN DRIVING AT BOTH HWY SPEEDS AND CITY SPEEDS
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM 20MPH TO 40MPH THE RPMS INCREASE TO 3RPM AND THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES TO CHANGE THE GEAR. IT SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE). I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW IN 2010. IT HAS 220,000 MILES ON IT. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND SAW THIS US A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE CAR. NISSAN ALSO SENT OUT A BULLETIN NTB10-121B. THEY SHOULD RECALL THESE CARS AND FIX THE ISSUE AT THEIR COST. ATTACHED IS THE PDF OF THE BULLETIN.
COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO MY DASH STARTED TO MELT. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE SINE ON THE DASH IS MAKING DRIVING REALLY DIFFICULT BECAUSE IT IS HARD TO SEE THROUGH THE FRONT MIRROR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE DEALER (CORAL SPRINGS NISSAN, 9350 W ATLANTIC BLVD, CORAL SPRINGS, FL 33071, 954 755-5600 EXT 3101) WERE NOTIFIED AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V521000 (AIR BAGS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES WERE THE SAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM A RECALL AND OUT OF WARRANTY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,388. *TT*JB
CAR CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING...COMPLETELY BURNED UP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK A POTHOLE AND THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED IMMEDIATELY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT "AIR BAG OFF" WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. PRIORITY NISSAN RICHMOND (16301 PRIORITY WAY, COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VIRGINIA 23834, (804) 414-0550) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 210,000.
2010 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SAFETY DEFECT THAT MANY OTHER CONSUMERS ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING, NOT JUST ME. (SEE NHTSA ID # 10899578). I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED SEVERAL TIMES, SOMETIMES WITH MY SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR, BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. THE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SAFETY DEFECT IS THE CAR TURNS OFF COMPLETELY WHILE COMING TO STOP, WHEN STOPPED, AND/OR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOP. ALL SYSTEMS TURN OFF INCLUDING THE ABILITY TO STEER AND STOP. AFTER TURNING OFF, THE CAR WILL NOT IMMEDIATELY TURN BACK ON. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIME BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, SINCE IT HAD A RECALL AND WAS UNDER WARRANTY, TO SEE IF IT FIXED THE PROBLEM. IT DID NOT, AS THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF THIS MORNING, 8/14/18, WHEN COMING TO A STOP ON A MAIN CITY STREET. I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BECAUSE THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY TURNED OFF AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT SEEM TO WORK WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE CAR DID NOT TURN BACK ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION AND RECALL OF THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SAFETY DEFECT.
MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED INSIDE A GARAGE. UPON ATTEMPTING TO MOVE THE VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT START. MY KEY LIGHT WAS/IS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH, CAR GOES INTO THE ON POSITION BUT DOES NOT START VEHICLE. UNABLE TO TURN OFF AFTER PUSHING THE "START BUTTON".
