TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HOOD FLEW OPEN AND DAMAGED THE WINDSHIELD. THE HOOD AND QUARTER PANELS WERE ALSO DAMAGED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V029000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
HI I TOOK MY VEHICLE FOR REGULAR INSPECTION AND HAVE REPORTED A PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEELS MAKING NOISE. ALSO REPORTING CAR DRIFT SIDE WAYS WHILE AT HIGH SPEEDS. WITH INITIAL ANALYSIS FROM NISSAN SERVICE CENTER HAVE MENTIONED THAT THERE IS SOME ISSUE WITH SHIFTING OF A SPRING ON THE ON THE TRACK RODS. I RAISED THIS TO MY EXTENDED WARRANTY SERVICE PROVIDER. AND THEY HAVE MENTIONED THAT IT HAS TO BE DONE UNDER TSB AND WILL NOT UNDERTAKE THE REPAIR. HENCE I AM SUBMITTING THIS INCIDENT REPORT YOU YOU SO INVESTIGATE IF IT ACTUALLY FALLS UNDER TSB OR NOT. AND IF IT IS THEN HOW I CAN GET IT FIXED UNDER TSB NORMS.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NISSAN ALTIMA S FROM CLAY COOLEY MARCH 2015 SO I ONLY HAD THE CAR A YEAR AND SOME MONTHS AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION IS GONE OUT I GET MY CAR SERVICED AS I SHOULD AND NOW THIS AND NO ONE WANTS TO HELP CLAY COOLEY DAY I'M OUT OF WARRANTY DUE TO MILES OVER 24000 ON THE CAR AND I'M STUCK OUT TO STILL FORK OUT A 518 CAR PAYMENT IT'S NOT RIGHT I NEED HELP. I WAS LEAVING WORK MY MY CAR STARTED VIBRATION AND STARTED TO DECELERATE AND JERKING LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO GO DEAD I THOUGHT I HAD GOT SOME BAD GAS SO I PULLED OVER MY CAR STARTED JERKING HARDER AND CUT OFF SO I TURNED IT BACK ON AND I SHIFT IT IN REVERSE AND IT WENT DEAD SO I CUT IT BACK ON AGAIN AND SHIFT IT IN DRIVE IT CUT OFF SO I DIT THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR THEN I STAR IT AGAIN AND SHIFTED IT IN DRIVE AND IT DIDN'T GO DEAD I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME SO THE NEXT DAY I WENT OUT TO SEE IF IT WOULD DO IT AGAIN AND IT DIDN'T WHILE DRIVING MY RPMS WENT UP HIGH AND MY CAR MADE WHINING NOISE AND STARTED VIBRATIONS AGAIN AND THIS TIME MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I WAS COMING UP TO A LIGHT SO I STOPPED BUT WHEN I TRIED TO DRIVE IT WOULDN'T MOVE SO I PUT THE BLINKERS ON AND SOME GUY CAME BEHIND AND PUSHED ME OVER TO THE SIDE AND I SAY THERE FOR ABOUT HOUR AND I STARTED UP AND IT MOVED SO I WENT STRAIGHT HOME AND CALLED AROUND AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED SO THE MAN FROM AMCO TOLD ME TO COME DOWN SO I CALLED FOR A TOW AND GOT TOWED THERE AND HE TESTED IT AND SAID THAT MY TRANSMISSION IS BAD AND IT'S A CVT TRANSMISSION DO IT CANT BE REBUILT IT HAS TO BE REPLACED FOR AS MUCH AS 4000 DOLLARS
WHEN I GET INTO DRIVE MY CAR IT STARTS BUT IT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK. I HAVE TO TURN MY CAR OFF TURN IT BACK ON THREE OR FOUR TIMES AND SOMETIMES IT STILL WON'T WORK ON ABLE TO USE MY VEHICLE. AND WHEN I AM ABLE TO USE IT SOMETIMES I GET STRANDED AT THE STORE BECAUSE IT WON'T COME OUT OF PARK.
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN, ALTIMA WITH 60,000 MILES AND MY TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT. I HAD A 2010 ALTIMA AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON I IT AS WELL. I PURCHASED BOTH VEHICLES FROM NALLEY NISSAN. WHEN I PURCHASED THE 2013 ALTIMA THE SALESMAN TOLD US THAT THEY HAVE MADE SOME IMPROVEMENTS TO THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THAT IS A LIE. I
WHILE ENTERING ONTO INTERSTATE 64 IN HAMPTON, VIRGINIA I NOTICED FIRE COMING UP FROM THE CONSOLE BETWEEN THE GEAR SHIFT AND THE ARM REST. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. FIRE INVESTIGATION REPORT STATES THAT IS WAS A MECHANICAL FAILURE. NISSAN COMPANY HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND A CASE NUMBER PROVIDED. THEY HAVE STATED THEY WILL INVESTIGATE.
I have been told by Nissan dealership and Christian brothers Automobile and Midas my CVS transmission is defective- factory defective. It often slips and gets hot and emits an odor I now have transmission flushed and serviced every 30,000 miles per dealer suggestions- no one thinks this was good and I’d factory defective— help me I bought this to be my last car serviced as suggested I’m told Nissan knows it but refuses to do a recall ????? Please told nothing I can do surely Nissan recognizes this and will recall it
PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE DOES NOT OPEN DOOR EVEN WHEN MANUEL LOCK IS IN OPEN POSITION . CAN NOT EXIT CAR UNLESS YOU ROLL DOWN WINDOW AND OPEN FROM OUTSIDE HANDLE. ONCE DOOR IS OPEN YOU HAVE TO LEAVE CAR RUNNING DOOR OPEN TO ROLL UP WINDOW BEFORE SHUTTING OFF CAR. ONLY INSIDE DOOR HANDLE WON'T OPEN CAR. OUTSIDE GETTING INTO CAR IS NO PROBLEM. CAR WAS STATIONARY ON CITY STREET.
THE ORANGE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON RIGHT AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 96/97/2015,WITH THE NUMBER 1 UNDERNEATH. THIS LIGHT WOULD GO AWAY EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE BASED ON USAGE. IN THE LAST 3MONTHS OR MORE AUGUST 2016 IS WHEN THE RED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STARTING FLASHING WHEN CAR IS TURNED ON MOVING, WITH A PASSENGER OR WITHOUT. *TR
2013 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5L SV 72,000 MILES CVT FAILURE MY VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED CVT FAILURE WITH ONLY 72K MILES. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED, WITH THE FIRST INSTANCE HAPPENING A LITTLE OVER ONE YEAR AGO. UNFORTUNATELY FOR THE INITIAL OCCURRENCE, I MISDIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS BAD GAS. THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS, BUCKS AND STALLS WHEN DECELERATING OR ACCELERATING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS OR IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. ADDITIONAL STALLS OCCUR WHEN PLACING THE VEHICLE INTO GEAR (DRIVE OR RESERVE) WHICH MAY CAUSE VEHICLE STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF PARKING LOTS AND ROADWAY. THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO GO INTO REMISSION FOR THE PAST YEAR, EVEN THOUGH LOOKING BACK I CAN SEE SOME SLIGHT SIGNS OF BUCKING WHEN COMING TO A STOP, ROUGH IDLES, LOUDER WHINING AT HIGHER SPEEDS, ECT. THIS SECOND OCCURRENCE I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THE ISSUE DIAGNOSED BY NISSAN TECHNICIANS AT CAUSEWAY NISSAN IN MANAHAWKIN, NJ AND THEY HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS INDEED A CVT FAILURE AND THAT IT IS NOT A RARE ISSUE. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH VERIFIES THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE CVTS AND NISSAN HAD PROVIDED A RECALL AND EXTENDED WARRANTY ON ALL THEIR CVT'S MANUFACTURED BEFORE 2011. THIS ISSUE DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE BEEN RESOLVED ON NEWER MODELS AND IS A ROAD HAZARD ESPECIALLY IN INTERSECTIONS OF MAJOR ROADWAYS AND IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS. PLEASE ADVISE.
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA THAT I PURCHASED ONE YEAR AGO. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT ONLY HAD 25,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO MY CAR JUST DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT AND I HAD TO MERGE OFF OF THE HIGHWAY BEFORE I WAS HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES. THE CAR WOULD START RIGHT UP AFTER I TURNED IT OFF, BUT NOT MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDDLE IT WOULD JUST SIT THERE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD THAT MY CVT TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. I ONLY HAVE 75,000 MILES ON THE CAR, BUT OF COURSE, THE WARRANTY WAS UP AT 60,000 MILES. THE SERVICE CENTER AT NISSAN SUGGESTED THAT I CALL CORPORATE NISSAN AND SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THAT THEY CAN DO TO HELP. I CALLED NISSAN AND AFTER WEEKS OF PLAYING PHONE TAG WITH THE REPRESENTATIVE HANDLING MY CASE, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THAT THEY WOULD DO TO HELP ME. I PROCEEDED TO ASK HER IF SHE WAS AWARE THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAIN NISSAN REGARDING THEIR FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND SHE SAID "YES" AND THAT THEY WOULD RATHER ME SUE THEM THAN JUST REPLACE THEIR FAULTY TRANSMISSION. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN AND WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE OF THEIR VEHICLES AGAIN. THE TOTAL COST TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION WAS $5,000.00, PLUS A MONTH AND A HALF OF RENTAL CAR CHARGES.
AIRBAG OFF LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON FOR 5-10 MINUTES WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND CAR IN DRIVE. ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT AND CONTINUES TO OCCUR AFTER FIX RECOMMENDED IN THE SPRING 2016 NISSAN RECALL. NISSAN REPORTS THEY CANNOT ADDRESS IT UNLESS THEY WITNESS IT AND BEING AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE, HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DO SO. VIDEO PROOF OF THIS HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED.
PASSENGER AIR BAG RECALL WAS COMPLETED BY NISSAN DEALER AS A "SOFTWARE" FIX. END RESULT LEAVES PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IN ILLUMINATED POSITION WHEN PASSENGER SEAT EMPTY. AT NIGHT, THIS CREATES A SERIOUS DISTRACTION AND CAUSES DRIVER TO TAKE EYES OFF ROAD. DISTRACTION COULD CAUSE INJURY/DEATH. NISSAN FACTORY REP REFUSES TO REMEDY PROBLEM AND WILL MAKE NO FURTHER REPAIRS.
I WAS IN A ACCIDENT WHERE I HYROPLANNED AND THE BACK END HIT A DITCH AND MY CAR WENT ONTO THE MEDIAN ON THE FREEWAY AND I TOTALED MY CAR AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY
"TAKATA RECALL" I WENT TO PUT CAR IN REVERSE AND CAR JUST SHUT OFF. STARTED RIGHT BACK UP BUT SHUT OFF AGAIN WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE. EVENTUALLY I GOT CAR TO GO WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF BUT FELT CAR JERKING ON AND OFF AND ALMOST SHUTTING OFF WHEN I CAME TO COMPLETE STOP. WOULD HAVE TO QUICKLY PUSH ON GAS TO KEEP CAR FROM TURNING OFF. CONTINUES TO JERK WHILE DRIVING BUT NOT CONTINUOUSLY.
AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING OFF N ON W NO PASSENGER...SCARED SOMETHINGS NOT GONNA WORK IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. CAR JERKING ON HGHWY NOT ACCELERATING ..N LOSS OF POWER MID DRIVE OR TURN..I HAVE KIDS N THIS IS BECOMING A DEATH TRAP..W NO CK ENGINE LIGHT .
TORQUE CONVERTER SHOT, NEEDS TRANSMISSION REPLACED
TAKATA RECALL : AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON DASH ALL OF A SUDDEN. AIRBAG LIGHT WAS NOTICED WHEN VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON AND STATIONARY. VEHICLE HASN'T BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT.
LOW BEAM LIGHTS GET EXTREMELY DIM, MY TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS ARE BRIGHTER THAN THE HEADLIGHTS!!!!!!!!! THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE DRIVING AT NIGHT. AS AN UBER DRIVER, I CAN SPOT MY GENERATION ALTIMA FROM FAR AWAY JUST CAUSE IT ALWAYS HAS THE DIMMEST LIGHTS UNLESS THE ALTIMA HAS HID
THE CAR HAS 44,500 MILES AND WAS GROWLING, SHUTTERING AND VIBRATING WHEN DRIVING. ESPECIALLY AT ACCELERATION AND STOPPING. FINALLY I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN THE CAR JERKED HARSHLY AND SHUT OFF. IT WOULD START RIGHT BACK UP, BUT THEN DIE WHEN PUT INTO (D) DRIVE. THE ROAD WAS A VERY DANGEROUS HIGHWAY AND I WAS ALONE SO COULD NOT PUSH CAR TO THE SIDE. FINALLY AFTER ABOUT 20 START AND 15 MINUTES, I MANAGED TO ENGAGE INTO DRIVE. I DROVE IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER DIRECTLY WHILE IT WAS BUCKING, JERKING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I BLEW THREW 2 RED LIGHTS BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT TO STOP. THE DEALER HAD THE CAR APPROXIMATELY 6.5 HOURS WHEN THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THAT NO LIGHTS WERE ON AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. IF I WANTED TO PAY $120 DIAGNOSTIC FEE, THEY COULD GO AHEAD WITH SOME WORK. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO MANAGER, HOWEVER HAD LEFT FOR THE DAY. ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER, THEY CALLED AGAIN STATING THAT HE SPOKE TO THE MANAGER AND IT IS MOST LIKELY AN ABS SYSTEM PROBLEM, BUT I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY THE $120 DIAGNOSIC FEE.
PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR INDICATES AIR BAG IS DISABLED WHEN SEAT IS OCCUPIED BY AN ADULT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS BOTH STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENS OFF AND ON BUT HAS NOT SHOWN UP WHEN AT THE DEALERSHIP. LAST INSTANCE WAS TODAY.
A/C FAILURE AND DOESN'T BLOW COLD. COMPRESSOR NEED REPLACEMENT. IN THE BEGINNING THE CAR WILL STAY COOL ON THE FREEWAY AND SOMETIME WILL BLOW COLD WHEN AT A STAND STILL. NOW WILL BLOW HOT AIR BECAUSE OF COMPRESSOR FAILURE. I HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN TO 4 CARS ALREADY IN THE PAST 4 MOTNHS.

PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS OFF WHEN A PERSON IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AT THE START OF THE DRIVE,THEN AFTER ABOUT 10 MILES THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LAMP GOES OFF. THIS VEHICLE HAD SERVICE FOR PASSENGER AIRBAG WHEN NEW.
I CURRENTLY HAVE A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AND HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY CAR NEEDS A NEW HEAD GASKET!! THE CAR ALWAYS GOT ITS SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE WITH OIL, GAS, AND FLUID LEVELS ALWAYS AT THE PROPER LEVEL. I WENT IN FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND A NOISE COMING FROM MY CAR, ALSO MY AIR CONDITIONING HAD SUDDENLY WENT OUT. I FOUND OUT I NEEDED A NEW RADIATOR. I DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR AFTER THIS, I ORDERED MY PARTS AND HAD THE RADIATOR INSTALLED A WEEK LATER. THE CAR WAS DRIVING GREAT. THEN I PARKED IT SHUT IT OFF AND COULD NOT GET IT TO START AGAIN. SO THE MECHANIC RAN DIAGNOSTIC ON IT AND HAD A NEW CODE OF CYLINDER MISFIRE. SO I CHANGED OUT MY SPARK PLUGS, BUT SAME THING HAPPENED. THE CAR WOULD START BUT ONCE SHUT OFF IT COULD NOT START AGAIN. THEN THE MECHANIC NOTICED THE PLUGS WERE WET AND SAID THAT IT WAS ANTI-FREEZE DRIPPING IN, THUS HIS DIAGNOSIS A NEW HEAD GASKET IS NEEDED.
INTERMITTENTLY THE CAR IS COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. THE ENGINE STARTS VIBRATING WHILE SLOWING DOWN OR BRAKING AND TURNS OFF. IT WILL START IMMEDIATELY7-8 TIMES IN A ROW BUT WILL TURN TURN OFF AS SOON AS THE TRANSMISSION IS PUT INTO DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5-6 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS TO THE NISSAN DEALER ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL US THEY CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THERE ARE NO CODES SHOWING UP! OUR CONCERN IS THE NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND THERE IS NO RECALL FOR WHATEVER IS CAUSING THIS.

I RECENTLY HAD MY CAR TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR TWO RECALL ITEMS- PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG INDICATOR AND HOOD LATCH REPLACEMENT. AFTERWARDS, THE AIRBAG OFF INDICATOR NOW IS ILLUMINATED WHEN PASSENGER FRONT SEAT IS NOT OCCUPIED. ON TWO OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST WEEK, WHILE SOMEONE WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR STARTED WAS EXTINGUISHED, LIKE I WOULD EXPECT, BUT AFTER ABOUT 5-7 MILES OF DRIVING THE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, INDICATING THAT PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS OFF, WHILE PERSON WAS STILL IN THE SEAT. AFTER AN ADDITIONAL 35 MILES OR SO OF NON-STOP DRIVING, I EXITED THE FREEWAY AND CAME TO A STOP, AT THAT POINT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR THEN WENT OUT. THE FELLOW I CARPOOL WITH HAS BEEN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BOTH TIMES THAT THIS HAS OCCURRED IS VERY CONCERNED AND IS CONSIDERING NOT CARPOOLING ANY LONGER. THANK YOU *TR

CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS HAD A CASE REVIEW DONE AND RECEIVED A CALL BACK, I EXPLAINED TO THEM I RESEARCHED INFORMATION, THERE ARE SO MANY CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH THEIR CARS, REP STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD HELP ME WITH. CONTACT LEGAL ADVICE AND WAS GIVEN THIS WEBSITE AND OTHER INFORMATION THERE IS AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION CONCERNING THIS ISSUE .SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE A.S.A.P. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

DISABLE LIGHT SHOULD ONLY GO OUT WHEN A PERSON A LOWER WEIGHT IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT PER DESCRIBE IN OWNER MANUAL. NOW THE CONSTANT LIGHT IS DISTRACTING AND BRIGHTER THAN THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM AT NIGHT. PER THE MANUAL IF THE CAR IS STARTED AND IF SOME ONE AT A LOWER WEIGHT SITS IN CAR AFTER CAR IS STARTED THEN THE CAR SHOULD BE TURN OFF THEN BACK ON. I AM STRESSING THAT THE RECALL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BUT DISABLES THE AIR BAG WHEN NOT REQUIRED TO BE DISABLED.

NOW, BACK TO THE VERY BEGINNING....12/30/2013, I WAS SEARCHING FOR A CAR, AS I HAD TOTALED MY EVER-SO-FAITHFUL TOYOTA CAMRY. I WENT TO NISSAN TO LOOK AT A USED ALTIMA. I GOT BETTER FINANCING ON A BRAND NEW MODEL, FOR WHICH I'M WRITING THIS COMPLAINT ABOUT. I NEGOTIATED, COME TO A DEAL, AND THAT WAS THAT. I DID NOT PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE I WAS BUYING A NISSAN, A BRAND NEW NISSAN. ANYWAY, VERY SOON AFTER, I NOTICED A VIBRATION WHILE MY CAR WAS IN IDLE, AND MORE SO WHILE ACCELERATING. I MENTIONED MY CONCERN NUMEROUS TIMES TO THE SERVICE DEPT AT NISSAN, WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. EVENTUALLY I GOT ANOTHER OPINION FROM ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER, THEY SHIMMED MY EXHAUST & REPLACED MY ALTERNATOR BRACKET, WITHOUT RESOLVING MY PROBLEM. I WAS ADVISED BY THEIR SERVICE MANAGER THAT ON 11/29/2013, MY VEHICLES CVT TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. ONE MONTH BEFORE I PURCHASED MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THIS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, OR I WOULD'VE PASSED ON THIS CAR. NOW, AT 62K MILES, 2K MILES OVER WARRANTY, MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I FIND IT STRANGE THAT A 2 1/2 YEAR OLD CAR IS NEEDING A 3RD TRANSMISSION. MY CAR HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICED AT THE DEALER, I'VE COMPLAINED OF VIBRATION AT EVERY SERVICE FROM DAY 1, NOW I'M EXPECTED TO PAY $4000 FOR AN OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE CVT, WHICH WILL ONLY BE A BAND-AIDE. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE SITUATION & I JUST PRAY THAT NISSAN DOES THE RIGHT THING & CORRECTS THIS ISSUE, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

THE WINDOWS ON THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. IN ORDER TO OPEN THE DOOR YOU HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS TO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE.
THE LOW BEAMS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE EXTRAORDINARILY LOW. DANGEROUSLY LOW. OFTEN TIMES, EVEN WHEN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, I HAVE TO PUT ON MY HIGHBEAMS TO SEE THE ROAD MORE CLEARLY. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO LOOK TO THE RIGHT AND DOWN TO FIND THE LINE INDICATING THE SHOULDER, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THERE SHOULD BE A RECORD FOR THIS VEHICLE. IT IS AN ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM BY NISSAN.

AFTER THE 2016 RECALL, TO CORRECT THE FAULTY PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF CONDITION, WHEN A PASSENGER NOT MEETING THE MINIMUM AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS IS SEATED THE THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE DRIVERS "AIR BAG OFF" WARNING INDICATOR IS NOW ALWAYS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT IS UNOCCUPIED. THIS CONDITION LEADS TO INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE WARNING INDICATOR WHICH NOW DISPLAYS THIS WARNING DURING A NORMAL OPERATING CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE. UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS WHEN THERE IS NO PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE, THE CONSTANT ILLUMINATION OF THE WARNING LIGHT WILL OVER TIME BE IGNORED BECAUSE OF ITS CONSTANT ON CONDITION. THE OPERATION OF THE THIS INDICATOR MAKES ABOUT AS MUCH SENSE AS HAVING THE "SEAT BELT UNFASTENED" WARNING LIGHT ALWAYS ILLUMINATED FOR AN UNFASTENED SEAT BELT FOR AN UNOCCUPIED PASSENGER SEAT.. THE INAPPROPRIATE AND MISLEADING OPERATION OF WARNING INDICATION LEADS TO THE OPERATOR'S DISREGARD OF THE WARNING INDICATOR'S SIGNIFICANCE. OVER TIME, THE DRIVER WILL ACCEPT THE ON CONDITION OF THIS WARNING LIGHT AS A NORMAL OPERATING INDICATION AND MAY LEAD THE DRIVER NOT RECOGNIZING THE SIGNIFICANCE IF THIS WARNING LIGHT REMAINING "ON" IN THE EVENT THAT A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER, MEETING THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT CRITERIA, OCCUPIES THE SEAT. THE OPERATION OF THIS WARNING LIGHT MUST BE RETURNED TO ITS PER-RECALL OPERATION OF ONLY ILLUMINATING WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED BY A PASSENGER NOT MEETING THE CRITERIA FOR AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. ANY OTHER OPERATION OF THIS WARNING LIGHT YIELDS ERRONEOUS MISLEADING PASSENGER SAFETY INFORMATION TO THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SAFETY CONDITION MUST BE CORRECTED.
I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGERS SIDE AIRBAG FOR 3 YEARS NOW. YOU CAN HAVE A 140 UP TO A 300 POUND PASSENGER IN THE SEAT AND THE AIR BAG TURNS OFF. I HAVE BEEN JERKED AROUND BY THE DEALER AND NISSAN AMERICA. THEY CAN'T GET IT TO TURN THE LIGHT ON.. I HAVE IT ON VIDEOS NOT WORKING.. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I FOUND THAT THIS TRANSMISSION HAS MAJOR ISSUES AND NISSAN ISN'T ADDRESSING IT. I OPENED A CASE WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS CASE NUMBER 22626692 AND WAS TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE MY CAR HAS 81K MILES . MAKING IT 20K MILES OVER THE MANUFACTURE WARRANTY. THERE IS NO WAY THAT A WELL MAINTAINED CARS TRANSMISSION SHOULD FAIL AT 80K MILES. NISSAN KNOWS THIS YET THEY ARE FAILING TO HELP CONSUMERS WITH THIS PROBLEM ! I RECEIVED TWO RECALL NOTICES (AIRBAG RELATED AND HOOD LATCH). I CONTACTED THE DEALER AS ADVISED ON THE NOTICE AND WAS TOLD THAT A RECALL SPECIALIST WOULD HAVE TO CALL ME ME BACK TO SCHEDULE. I DID NOT HEAR FROM ANYONE FOR TWO WEEKS AND THEN CALLED THE NUMBER LISTED ON THE NOTICE FOR NISSAN NATIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS, AS THIS WAS RECOMMENDED IF THE DEALER IS UNRESPONSIVE. THE REPRESENTATIVE GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER (22894092) AND TRANSFERRED ME TO MY LOCAL DEALER AGAIN. I WAS AGAIN TOLD THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO SCHEDULE THIS MAINTENANCE, BUT I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK. IT HAS BEEN OVER ONE MONTH SINCE I INITIALLY CALLED TO SCHEDULE.
WE NOTICED THAT OUR CAR'S BLACK DASHBOARD WAS BECOMING STICKY AND SHINY DURING THE SUMMER. THIS HAS DEVELOPED INTO A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT AFFECTS MY VISIBILITY WHEN I'M DRIVING. THE MELTING DASHBOARD CREATES A STRONG GLARE OR REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH IMPEDES MY ABILITY TO SEE THE ROAD AND MY SURROUNDS. I NOTIFIED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WHICH ALSO DENIED MY REQUEST TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE. IT APPEARS THAT THE DASHBOARD MATERIAL THAT IS USED WAS NOT PROPERLY TESTED FOR HIGHER TEMPERATURES OR THAT THIS IS SIMPLY A DEFECTIVE PART. THE RESIDUE ON THE SURFACE OF THE DASHBOARD COULD ALSO BE A HEALTH HAZARD AS THE DASHBOARD IS CLEARLY DEGRADING AND MAY BE EMITTING FUMES WITHIN THE CABIN. I ALSO SUSPECT THAT LEFT UNTREATED, THIS MELTING DASHBOARD HAS THE POTENTIAL TO IMPACT THE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS WITHIN THE VEHICLE. I EXPECT THAT NISSAN ADDRESSES THESE CONCERNS AND OFFERS A SOLUTION TO THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT BEFORE IT CAUSES AN ACCIDENT.

AFTER THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED, THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE A PERSON WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE BLUETOOTH WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO 20% OF THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRS. THE CONSUMER FELT THIS WAS NOT SATISFACTORY. *JS
