NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2013 Nissan Altima. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle started shaking and the rear passenger’s side lowered. The contact was able to pull over and he noticed that the rear lower suspension had separated at the bushing joint. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was informed that the lower link needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in TSB: P9324. The failure mileage was 140,000.
Please include with our complaint: ODI 11469244 On June 8, 2022 one of our rear lower suspension links broke and left my husband on the side of the road two weeks ago. After having it towed home we learned about service campaign P9324. Sevice campaign P9324 states “certain Nissan Altima vehicles currently or previously registered in specific U.S. states with high road salt usage for model year 2013 and model years 2013-2014 in Canada are potentially affected”. Illinois is considered high-users of road salt. Called the dealership and he confirmed that all parts and labor would be covered. We then had our vehicle towed to the dealership on June 9, 2022. Within an hour, the service department called and stated our VIN was not covered. Brad Brees, the service manager can be reached at (815) 633- 3460. He will be able to confirm our situation and he agreed that this should not be happening with a vehicle that has been owned and driven in Illinois for 7+ years. We immediately filed a claim with Nissan North America consumer affairs department. After waiting four business days we learned that our claim was denied. When my husband asked if the representative had read the service bulletin, she stated that she had not. When my husband asked for the denial to be put in writing, the consumer affair representative hung up on him. We went ahead and got our car fixed by the dealer. It was at that time, we learned about the extended warranty on this problem,. We filed the extended warranty claim form and included our receipts for the repair and the tows. We asked that all correspondence be made in WRITING, either by mail or email. A representative called and notified us that again our claim was denied. They will not put in writing a reason for our denial. As customer's we want a valid reason. While we don’t understand why our vehicle is not included we are extremely concerned that Nissan Consumer Affairs won’t put the denial and reason in wri
My Nissan's right passenger side lower rearward control arm broke as I was driving and I lost control of the car and steered to the side of the road. I was lucky no car was near me or it would have been tragic. Nissan should be forced to recall all the cars with this faulty part before life is lost.
I key system error. Engine control module malfunction. Car loses power when accelerating, not safe when driving on road. Car will not start up at times.
My 2013 Altima rear control arm broke as my daughter pulled into our driveway. Nissan dealership says my VIN does not have a recall on this part. Very very dangerous
1) Driver’s side airbag warning light is on all the time, constant red. 2) Transmission shift lever would not move out of park and had to be replaced @ 115,000 at a cost of $954. 3) The transmission failed and had to be replaced at 118,000 at a cost of $4,500. When I contacted Nissan about these issues, I was told that there was nothing they could do.
The headlights Are Defective. You can Not see the road at night at all! I Have a Claim with the Suarez Vs Nissan Lawsuit Settlement, which was approved by final order of the Courts. Nissan was ordered to replace the 2 Defective Headlamp Assembly. Nissan Refuses to comply with the Order of the Court! Nissan is breaking the Law! Help! Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle was vibrating. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the control arms and rear suspension needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.
Nissan is not supplying headlight assemblies to dealers in a timely manner (settlement of class action lawsuit for dimming headlights) yet is selling them as OEM online. I have been waiting 8 months for them to come into my dealer. The only response is that the supply chain is the problem. These headlights have been gradually been dimming for years due to the deterioration of a coating inside the projection beam lens. A class action lawsuit settlement has Nissan obligated to replace the complete assembly if one registered with the the classs last March - September.
Nissan got sued for Altima headlights that would dim after a certain amount of time. They reached out to everyone affected and offered to replace their faulty headlights. They even put a campaign (recall?) on the affected cars. I went to the dealership which performed a test and determined that both my headlights were faulty and were dimming and I'm eligible for a replacement. They placed an order for parts in May 2022, it is now October 2022 and Nissan still hasn't shipped the parts to the dealer. Every time I call, the dealership says the parts have not arrived and there is nothing else they can do. Its been 5+ months since my dealership visit and I've been driving with dim headlights around rural country roads in Texas which don't have streetlights or lane markings It puts me and the passengers in my car (kids) at a huge safety risk. Can you please force Nissan to send new headlights (parts are already on order for my VIN) so I can get this resolved without any more delay?
2013 Altima 3.5 SL. the passenger door handle popped and wont open from the inside, you have to roll the window down and open it from the outside, if you cant get out of your car in an emergency it is a life or death situation.
NO INCIDENT...AVOIDING USING CAR AT NIGHT...HEADLIGHTS DANGEROUS...YOUNG GRANDDAUGHTER WITH GOOD EYESIGHT HAS COMPLAINED ALSO OF POOR HEADLIGHT NIGHT DRIVING...THIS DEFINITELY IS A SAFETY ISSUE...MANY DRIVERS WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO REPAIR WILL BE DRIVING WITH POOR LIGHTING
I was driving on a road that is 40 mph. I was getting close to a stop light that had been red and cars had not moved yet once the light turned greened. I started pressing my brake to slow down and my cars emergency brake came on by itself and I got stuck in the middle of the road. My cars brake light and battery light came ln and the car was stuck- could not change gears or drive . I had to turn the car on and off five or six times in order for it to finally I brake itself and let me drive very slowly. Got the car checked by two auto shops, one was Nissan and the other David’s Auto repair Service . David’s said code P17F1 and I would need a new transmission. Nissan said it was my battery , got my battery changed and the car kept doing the same thing , got inspected again by Nissan and they also got the same code and said I would need a new transmission. My car only has 107k miles - no other issues prior to this. I cannot drive my car now because it judders and brakes itself and it’s dangerous to drive
The airbag light has come on on the dash and does not go out. It doesn't matter if someone is in the seat with or without the seat belt. It stays on. Now I'm worried the airbag won't work in an accident or it might go off/explode at any time.
We have a 2013 Nissan Altima that we haven't driven at night for over 4 years. There was a lawsuit over headlamp issue and plaintiffs won. So we filed our claim in Jan when we received postcard. We rec'd a ticket # and took it to our Nissan dealer after the April 1st, when allowed. They replaced the 2 recalls under our vin # but concluded our lights are fine. THEY ARE NOT! We can't see 2 feet in front of us at night. To prove this we drove it yesterday to our Good Friday Service at our church. We almost crashed. You can't see the lines on the road in front of you! We had to drive with our brights on and blind everybody. That's the ONLY way to drive it at night. I see on Nissan's webpage that there is a headlight recall dated 3/24/22 PC861 but you don't have a safety ID#. I figured that's why Nissan didn't honor that recall. I joined the Niisan club and there are MANY people that also were denied as headlights fine according to their "new bulletin" Nissan sent to all dealerships after the lawsuit was settled. Seems they are not honoring to replace the headlamps even though we can't see or drive our cars at night. I'm at a loss why your agency hasn't given this a safety issue. I don't know what to do. My husband was so angry to learn the dealership deemed our lights fine he started screaming at the management. They even ADMITTED our lights our dim but according to Nissan's co. Bulletin they don't meet the replacement standards. I guess we just wait to crash at night before it causes you to assign a safety ID #. I know we can't be the only ones complaining of being rejected. The Nissan dealership is on RT 19 in Wexford, PA.
2013-2018 Nissan Altimas manufactured with halogen headlamps (“Class Vehicles”) have a defect that causes an interior reflecting surface of the headlamp to deteriorate, resulting in dimming of the low beam headlights. Took mine to Nissan of Lumberton and they said it passed there test they come up with. Still can’t see about 10ft in front of you and less than that when foggy or raining. Can’t drive with high beams on everywhere.
The low-beam headlights on this Nissan Altima are so dim that it is dangerous to operate the vehicle at night. I have to use high-beams at all times. The reason is the coating inside the assembly de-laminated. This was litigated against Nissan in a class action suit, Suarez v. Nissan. The suit was settled earlier this year. As part of the settlement, I filed a claim and was authorized to take the car to my local Nissan dealer for replacement (Tacoma, WA). The dealer told me they would need to verify the lights were indeed too dim before replacing the assembly. After testing them, they claimed the lights passed and would not need replacement. This is an incredulous conclusion and I can only conclude they are willingly trying to avoid replacement, as there is no way these lights can be considered safe. Do we have any recourse? Is there an independent way to test the headlights to prove they are unsafe? Can someone at NTSB talk to Nissan? Is this even a condition of replacement, that the lights have to fail a test administered by Nissan itself? That seems entirely inappropriate. Thanks for any help you can provide, I can't be the only one going through this.
In April 2022,I Took my vehicle down to the Tracy California Nissan dealership. I was part of the class section lawsuit to have my headlights replaced because they are so extremely dim and to also had a recall for the hood latch serviced. I was told that my headlights were just fine. That per Nissans instructions, the dealerships were to lightly clean the headlamp area, take it into a darkened room and measure the brightness of the headlights. The dealership refused to give me any information on what the parameters were for the headlight brightness testing. I was just told over and over again that my headlights are bright enough and did not qualify for replacement. Even after checking the brightness since they supposedly cleaned the headlights, there was no change. I still cannot drive the vehicle without the highbeams on. And even with the highbeams on the headlights are not that bright. Again I asked the service manager about the lawsuit and that it specifically states that they would replace the headlights. He told me if I was unsatisfied I could call the one 800 number he gave me. Then he proceeded to tell me good luck and have a nice day.
My 2013 Nissan Altima is included in the Notice of Class Action Settlement Rafael Suarez et.al. v. Nissan North America, Inc.,No. 3:21-cv-000393-WLC-AN. This settlement was reached in late 2021. On or about April 11,2022 my vehicle failed a Nissan dealer conducted test thus qualifying it for replacement headlights. The lumens emitted from the headlights are degraded due to delamination of the headlamp covering. Basically, there is insufficient light to safely drive the car at night in my particular case. The problem is that Nissan N.A. claims they are unable to provide the headlights due to supply chain issues. Any corporation can overcome supply chain issues should they wish to place the resources needed to overcome any obstacles. In this case the issue is one of safety for myself and the other Nissan drivers that have not received replacement headlights. I have contacted Nissan N.A. customer service hot line (800-647-7261) numerous times (with documented case numbers) but no information is forth coming on when the replacement headlamp coverings will be available. Nissan N.A. advices contacting the local Nissan dealer for updated information however they have only what Nissan provides them. With the summer driving season (with longer hours of natural light) coming to the an end, the need for the headlights is all the more important during the shorten winter days. Nissan has been less than forth coming with information as to when the replacement covers will be available. Help from the NTSB is needed to "encourage" Nissan N.A. to provide the headlight covers. Case numbers in the Nissan customer service systems include among others, #46093980, #46431416, #46856238 and #47154211.
why hasn't nissan replaced these headlight parts.we can't use the car at night as there isn't enough light to see safely,.NO EXCUSE fo0r this.
Got recall for hood latch handled in September of 2021. While driving on the highway at 70 mph the hood flew open which caused severe damage to vehicle and almost causing numerous of crashes. Vehicle is being repaired per dealer however this is the third time this issue occurred and at this point I am afraid to drive the vehicle and nervous for anyone with these vehicles to continue driving them honestly. I am unsure what to do at this point considering what if this happens again and the outcome isn't as good as previously. I just feel as though if this issue can't be corrected after 5 recalls why continue to have these vehicles on the road.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle jerked to the right with the traction control warning light illuminated. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the rear passenger’s side tire was tilted in. Due to the failure, the contact called a tow truck and it was discovered that the rear control arm had corroded. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who linked the failure NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V494000 (Steering, Suspension) and referred her to the dealer for assistance. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.
Headlights have become so dull that it is a hazard driving at night. Altima was taken into dealership on 3/30/22 and was found to qualify for headlight replacement under the lawsuit settlement in case Suarez v. Nissan North America, Inc. We were told it would take about six weeks for parts to arrive. Six months later and several calls to dealership, still no parts and no idea when they'll arrive. Our daughter had hers replaced last week by a non-Nissan auto repair business.
Daughter was driving car, severe shake so she pulled over on the side of the road and called me. I got the car home and noticed the rear driver side wheel was misaligned and had a 45degree lean. I jacked the car up and noticed a rusted broken lower control arm. I began to research this part and noticed nissan had a recall for this on all 2013 model. Nissan P9324, you can see my control arm broke in the exact area as the recall control arms. I contacted Bussam nissan in my area and they stated that yes there was a recall for this year but they are not sure why it is not attached to my vin. My daughter couldve really been seriously injured and the car is not safe. I am only asking nissan to replace the proven defective part. I own a 2005 and 2007 altima and have never had this issue, 2013 is too new of a car for broken control arms. I have attached photos and the service bulletin
Nissan Altima 2013 extremely dim low light bean, specifically poor intensity of brightness and distance throw of light. Extremely dangerous to operate vehicle at night. Endangering occupants, other drivers, and pedestrians. I changed light bulbs twice using the brightest bulbs available. But noticeable improvement. Almost caused several collisions and pedestrian strikes on dark roads and street, especially in rain. Problem developed in 2016, about three years after purchase in 2013. Immediate recall is critical, replace headlamps before fatalities.
The CVT was making noise and vibrated. We did some research on line and read that the 2013 Nissan Sentra already had a transmission recall and many reported safety incidents. We saw many complaints for the 2013 Altima transmission but no recalls. The dealer said the transmission must be replaced but we would have to pay for it and they would contact us if a recall was announced. There was a recall for the CVT software and the owner notification states that that this issue could lead ro accelerated wear and damage to the CVT. I would think that they would then need to cover a failed transmission.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, he heard an abnormally loud knocking sound coming from the rear passenger’s side brakes. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to pull over and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was informed that the rear control arms and the bolts attached to the frame need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 165,000. Consumer wanted to include a link to Nissan’s website where they say this is an issue but only in Canada due to high volume of salt being used. Wisconsin which is a state they say uses a high volume of salt.
While driving, the vehicle began to make a loud noise followed by shuddering. It was taken to the dealership and a code was returned that indicated a transmission failure. This same CVT Transmission was replaced in August 2017 and has been driven only 23,000 more. While Nissan is aware that their transmissions are defective, they offer no assistance outside of the limited warrant that only lasts 3 years. No warning light appeared.
Transmission shifter would not come out of park have put new transmission fluid in this car twice in 112,000 miles Had to replace whole shifter assembly 1300.00 been warned this CVS TRANSMISSION DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED EVERYONE INCLUDING DEALERSHIP SAYS THIS TRANSMISSION IS NO GOOD AND NEED TO CHANGE FLUID AND FLUSH EVERY 30,000 miles now … 300.00 to do it !!!! I’ve owned 3 Nissans never had anything like this
My automatic vehicle is stuck in park- either the shift lock solenoid component or the actual assembly and/ore electric that activates the ability to move out of park is defective. If you use a tool and manually override shift lock you can move out of gear. There are thousands of complaints and videos online about this same issue. The fix is anywhere from 500 to 1k at a repair shop. This is an extremely dangerous condition as there is no way to ever quickly get out of the way - of anything- if your vehicle is in park.
The low beam headlights have failed. Confirmation is confirmed at Olympia, Washington Nissan. Our safety at night was compromised as well as other drivers. This was such a gradual problem that we were unaware of it until approximately march of 2022. A lawsuit was filed in 2020. We were not informed and told we did not qualify. We have paid the dealer to replace the low beam. It likely will not be done until December of later of this year.
CVT Transmission failed, they know the 2013 model has a bad transmission and instead of recalling it they only did an extended 2 year warranty in a class action lawsuit. The car should not be on the road we just paid our car off not knowing about this issue and the car stopped in the middle of traffic and would not drive. We got it towed to a Nissan Dealership to find out it needs a new Transmission and that's when we learned about all the issues of the CVT Transmission issues on the 2013 model. Uploaded towing bill, do not have the invoice from the dealership yet but they are stating 5900.00 to replace the transmission which is crazy now seeing everything online knowing it's a faulty part.
THE CAR STARTS GOOD ENGINE SOUNDS GOOD BUT WHEN YOU PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE THE CAR TURNS OFF
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle began to drive rough; the contact felt that the steering wheel was disconnected from the front wheels whenever the vehicle would drive over slight bump in the road. The contact stated that the Traction and Stability warning lights were illuminated. The contact drove to her destination and observed that driver’s side rear tire appeared to have separated from the rim. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the driver’s side rear control arm had fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
While driving through a residential street at 20 mph, the rear driver side control arm of my 2013 altima broke off suddenly. I was lucky that I wasn't on a freeway when this happened. The vehicle has been towed to a nearby mechanic, and I'm waiting to hear back about the mechanic's assessment.
Update from previous complaint. On 1/24/22 I took the car for passenger air bag malfunction/OCS malfunction, the problem when there is a passenger on the car or not the passenger air bag light stays off and seatbelt light was on all the time. I brought the customer initiative related to NHTSA RECALL 16V-244 letter to the nearest dealership Nissan Duarte and they only performed zero reset calibration and it did the job for about 4 weeks and now the air bag light turns on and off intermittently. I tried to have a passenger on the car and turned the car on, the air bag light turns off, when I restart the car with just me in the car, the air bag light stays on, I was able to replicate this problem over and over. Safety is definitely at risk for everyone in the car, as the air bag system is malfunctioning. I tried contacting customer service to honor their customer initiative related to NHTSA RECALL 16V-244 and have them perform service bulletin NTB17-006 OCS system retrofit to no avail. I tried contacting Sarah Jay at 615-725-7585 Nissan specialist waiting her reply. Please investigate car is approximately 67000 miles.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle however, after several attempts the vehicle failed to start-up. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who replaced the transmission fluid; however, while the contact was driving home, the failure recurred without warning. The contact attempted to notify the manufacturer but was unsuccessful. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
Airbag sensor not working correct, which will cause airbags not to deploy.
I had driven the car less.than one half mile when car stalled.. When I tried to restart the car it continued to stall When I shifted to drive. No prior warning was given
I took my car in for an alignment and the mechanic discovered excessive and sever corrosion on the lower suspension link in the rear, the corrosion is so bad that the entire subframe is holding on by a corroded approximately 1/2 inch section, one bump and the entire rear end of the vehicle will fall off. This car is less than 10 years old, has 80,000 miles on it and is for the most part kept in a garage. The corrosion is so bad that the car has been deemed unsafe to drive. Individuals who are experts in automotive parts have indicated that the corrosion that has occurred would be expected for a car that is over 50 years old and has been sitting in water or subjected to extreme use of salt/water/road chemicals to corrode to the degree that this entire unit is showing. I found that Nissan has put in place a "warranty extension to replace this exact part of the lower rear suspension due to excessive corrosion for the year/make/model of car I am reporting, however Nissan is refusing to honor that on my car simply because my VIN number didn't show up as one that should be experiencing this KNOWN issue. Searching the internet I have found hundreds of people that have had their back end fall off while driving due to this corrosion, ALL are same year, make and model. I will attach photos that show the extensive corrosion that is on the lower rear link of my 2013 Altima, reflecting that my car is in fact impacted by the very issue that Nissan supposedly was voluntarily extending the warranty on in an effort to prevent having to do a recall. Based on my brief internet review with a simple Google search this part is DEFECTIVE on more cars than Nissan is covering and someone is going to die as a result of Nissans failure to recall and/or fix the issue when it is brought to their attention despite knowing that this is a prevalent issue on the year/make/model of this car. There lack of taking responsibility will cost someone their life.
The airbag light came on the dash and stays on without the vehicle being involved in a crash. I took it to a shop to have it repaired and they stated it was a faulty airbag sensor.
Shift stuck in park. Shift assembly needs replacing due to bad interlock solenoid. $1000.00 to fix. This problem has affected many cars and Nissan will do nothing about it.
WARNING LIGHT ON DASH FOR PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG AND PASSENGER SEAT BELT.
The Low Beam headlight do not project properly. The problem is delamination of the headlight assembly. See "Suarez vs. Nissan North America Inc. Nissan will not replace the headlights in a timely manner. A claim was filed on 1/31/22. Assemblies must be replaced by 9/23/22. Nissan is delaying the repair because of "supply Chain Issues". Numerous owners haven't had the replacement occur by the due date. This makes the car difficult to operate, requiring the use of the high beams at all times. This is a safety issue, and should be a recall to protect all drivers.
The headlights on low beam do not put out enough light to see what is in front of the car and I still have them. It is unsafe to drive a care with inadequate low beam lighting. Yes, dealer confirmed it but said 4/25/2022 was the last date to report the problem to have it replaced as part of the settlement. The dealerships are well aware of this problem. No warning, the lights just gradually got dimmer over time.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, he heard abnormally loud sounds coming from the transmission. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle responded as needed and the contact continued driving. However, the contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
On the morning of Thursday January 13th I pulled in my place of employment which had a small pot hole at the entrance. Upon entering the parking lot I hit that hole and noticed that my car had a bit of a sway, but did not understand what the issue was. After working 8 hours I was going to leave and noticed the same issue with the vehicle. I then exited my car to inspect my tires thinking I had a flat. Upon further inspection I noticed that my fender well was sitting on top of my tire. I then looked under my car to confirm that the lower linkage arm for the passengers rear tire had sheared from the subframe. The car at that time was un-drivable so I called a tow truck to transport it to a Nissan dealership. On January 14th I received my diagnosis report that stated the lower linkage arm had rusted and sheared because of this issue. They also inspected the drivers side part and confirmed the same issue was taking place with the other linkage. The vehicle is only 8 years old at this time and the part has rusted so severely that it caused the part to fail. In my opinion this is a very detrimental issue that Nissan will not acknowledge or offer assistance with fixing. My biggest concern with the whole situation is that I could have been driving the vehicle at 70mph on the highway and have this part fail. Should that have happened I could have been seriously injured or even killed. In my opinion I think that Nissan needs to do an investigation on part corrosion since this is an issue they are combating already with the secondary hood latch, which I have had a representative from Nissan say was because of corrosion of that secondary latch. This does not seem like an isolated issue, but more of a larger concern that Nissan should be looking into with corrosion on very important parts to the vehicles integrity.
The low beam headlights are to dim. The light from the fog lights projects further then the low beam headlights. I have changed the bulbs but there has been little to no improvement.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while at a red traffic light, the vehicle stalled and vibrated, and then lost motive power. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact then restarted the vehicle and drove to her destination; however, the vehicle lost motive power again. The vehicle remained at the location for a day; the contact then returned and noticed the transmission fluid had drained out onto the ground. The local mechanic confirmed the transmission fluid leak. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer out of town and diagnosed with transmission failure; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the transmission was repaired by another mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
secondary hood latch failed. while driving on the street at about 35 MPH, hood flew open causing very limited visual. upon pulling over, damage was visible on the fenders of left and right side. dealer claims not liable for any repairs.
