TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY LOOSE AND THAT MADE IT HARD TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,250. *TR
I HAVE A NEW 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA SL V6 I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS NEW CAR. BLIND SIDE WARNING, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STAYED ON ONE TIME. MY CAR WOULDN'T START UP SEVERAL TIMES AFTER WALKING UP TO THE CAR AND PRESSING THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR. THE KEY WOULDN'T UNLOCK THE DOORS, IT WOULDN'T AUTO START THE CAR. I HAD TO WAIT TO GET IN MY CAR, I ACTUALLY HAD TO STICK MY KEY IN THE DOOR TO GET IN THE CAR. WHEN I DID FINALLY GET IN THE CAR AND TRY TO START IT NOTHING HAPPENED, IT SAID NO KEY THIS IS DANGEROUS I AM A FEMALE GOD FORBIDS SOMEBODY TRIES TO RAPE OR KILL ME AND I AM NOT ABLE TO GET AWAY IN MY NEW CAR THAT I PAY ALL THIS MONEY FOR EVERY MONTH. THE DASHBOARD SAYS: KEY NOT DETECTED OR NO KEY, OR INCORRECT KEY ID. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP AND THEY STILL DOESN'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG. I'VE RECENTLY WENT TO A DIFFERENT DEALER HOPING THEY CAN WORK ON MY CAR AND GET ME THE RESULTS I'M LOOKING FOR... I COMPLETELY HATE THIS CAR BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN N THE SHOP MORE TIMES THAN MY LAST CAR. ALL THEY KEPT SAYING WAS MORE COMPUTER PROBLEMS. I GOT MY CAR 12/2012 AND MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER 20 TIMES WITH LOTS OF ISSUES. I'M STILL WITHIN MY 36000 WARRANTY. I ALSO HEAR A CLICKING NOISE IN THE FRONT TIRE. DEALERSHIP REPLACED SOME BOLTS AND GREASED IT AS WELL. THEY SAID IT NEEDED GREASE.. THE NOISE HAS CAME BACK ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER!! ITS TIME CONSUMING TO KEEP GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET REPAIRS!! BUT I HAVE TO DO IT. I HAD THE RECALL FOR AIR BAGS BUT IT STILL DIDN'T REGISTER AN ADULT WHO SAT IN THE FRONT SEAT WHO WEIGHED ABOUT 103 LBS. SO HIS AIR BAG WOULDN'T DEPLOY IF WE GOT IN AN ACCIDENT. THAT ISN'T SAFE AT ALL.. PLS FIX AND CHANGE THAT FEATURE FOR THE SAKE OF SMALLER ADULTS. NISSAN SHOULDN'T RESTRICT THE WEIGHT OF A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER.. ALL THESE PROBLEMS.... THE PASSENGER AIRBAG TURNS OFF WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT. IT IS NOT ALWAYS IMMEDIATE AND DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME IT IS DRIVEN. IT HAS HAD 2 RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE AND THIS WILL BE THE 11TH TIME IT HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS SAME THING. THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME, THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THEY WERE NOT DRIVING IT BEYOND THE PARKING LOT ENOUGH TO EVEN PUT ONE MILE ON IT UNTIL I BROUGHT THAT TO THEIR ATTENTION APRIL 18, 2014. THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEVER SHOWED A CAMPAIGN FOR THE RECALL, ALTHOUGH 2 OF MY RECEIPTS STATE THAT IT WAS REPAIRED. I'VE CONTACTED NISSAN HEADQUARTERS AND REQUESTED A REPURCHASE ORDER, HOWEVER IT IS NOT GUARANTEED. THEY TOLD ME TO KEEP WORKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF TIMES FOR THE SAME THING. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 7,000 MILES AND REMAINDER OF THE WARRANTY,. IF IT HAD BEEN PURCHASED BRAND NEW, IT WOULD HAVE QUALIFIED UNDER THE LEMON LAW AS A LEMON. IT IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IF WE ARE IN AN ACCIDENT AND I'M NOT MAKING PROGRESS WITH THE DEALERSHIP NOR HEADQUARTERS. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

I PURCHASED A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AND WITHIN 1 WEEK THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF DURING THE SAME TIME PERIOD THE PHONE WOULD RING IN THE CAR AND WOULD NOT STOP RINGING UNTIL THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE CAR HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP OVER 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME 2 ISSUES AND THE PROBLEM STILL HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED, AS RECENT AS YESTERDAY MAY 31, 2014 THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY AND STAYS ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF; THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS A "HITCH" IN IT WHEN LETTING UP ON IT (AS DOES THE GAS PEDAL); YOU CAN HEAR GAS SLOSHING AROUND IN THE GAS TANK. PIECE OF CRAP CAR. *TR
SEAT FRAME WITH NEW SENSOR REPLACED AS PER 2013 ALTIMA RECALL STATING THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON WHEN PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT. ZERO POINT RESET WAS DONE AS WELL. MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THEN OVER THE LAST 3 MONTHS HAVE HAD MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF PASSENGERS OF VARIOUS WEIGHTS SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND THE LIGHT HAS REMAINED LIT FROM VEHICLE START, OR ILLUMINATED AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME AFTER STARTING TO DRIVE. *TR
I LOVE THE FACT THAT MY CAR HAS THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL AND FOR PAYING SO MUCH FOR THIS VEHICLE TO HAVE THIS WONDERFUL FEATURE YOU WOULD EXPECT IT TO WORK. WELL IT DID FOR THE FIRST MONTH, BUT I USED IT ALOT, USUALLY ON HIGHWAY TRIPS WHEN IT WOULD CUT OFF I WOULD TURN IT BACK ON, THEN ABOUT A MONTH AFTER THAT I NOTICED IT WAS ONLY GETTING WARM AT THE TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND NOT THE REST. THEN A LITTLE LATER IT DOESN'T EVEN GET WARM ANYMORE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SERVICE AT LEAST 2 DIFFERENT TIMES, AND THEY JUST TELL ME THAT IT IS NORMAL. BUT IN THE ARMADA, AND MAXIMA THEY LOANED ME WHILE MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP THOSE SEEMED TO WORK FINE. THEIR ANSWER TO THAT IS THAT IN THE ALTIMA IT READS THE TEMPERATURE INSIDE THE CAR TO DETERMINE HOW HOT IT GETS. THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IN MARCH OF 2013 HERE IN NORTHERN VA WE HAD A BIG SNOWFALL. I WENT TO MY CAR AT 3:40 AM THE DAY OF THE SNOWFALL, AND STARTED IT. IT WAS ABOUT 28 DEGREES OUTSIDE, AND THE INSIDE OF THE CAR FELT THE SAME. I TURN ON THE HEATED STEERING IT I NEVER FELT IT THE ENTIRE 30 MILES I DROVE. TO ME IT FEELS LIKE THE ELECTRICITY IS NOT GETTING TO ANY OR ALL OF THE HEATING ELEMENT. NISSAN SAYS TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, BUT ALL THE DEALERS AROUND ME ARE OWNED AND MANAGED BY THE SAME. *TR
AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF OWNING THIS NEW CAR, THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ONWHILE I WAS DRIVING. I STARTED HEARING SQUEALING AND THUNKING COMING FROM MY BRAKES. THESE ARE NEW AND ON A NEW CAR, THE CAR JUST NOW HAS 6000 MILES ON IT AND IT STILL SHOULD NOT MAKES THESE SOUNDS. I TOOK IT IN THEY DID SOMETHING TO CLEAR THE BRAKE LIGHT AND SAID THE NOISES ARE NORMAL. THIS SHOULD NOT BE MAKING ALL OF THESE DIFFERENT NOISES. NISSAN NEEDS TO FIND THE PROBLEMS OF THEIR CARS AND FIX THEM! I FEEL LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING STILL WRONG BUT THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT WANT TO LOOK ANY FURTHER. *TR
PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR WAS OCCASIONALLY SHOWING THAT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WAS DEACTIVATED WHEN THERE WAS AN ADULT PASSENGER SEATED IN THAT SEAT WITH THEIR SEATBELT ON. TOOK IT INTO NISSAN DEALERSHIP THE CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR A FAULTY SENSOR, AND THEY "RESET THE SOFTWARE" FOR THIS SYSTEM UNTIL THE PART CAME IN. WENT BACK TO SAME DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL TO BE FIXED FOR A SECOND TIME AND THEY AGAIN "RESET THE SOFTWARE" AND THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER SAID THEY NEED TO RESET THE SOFTWARE TWICE BEFORE REPLACING THE SENSOR. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY STATED THIS WAS NOT TRUE, AND IT SHOULD BE REPLACED NOT SOFTWARE RESET. IF THEY ARE LYING AND CUTTING CORNERS ON REPLACING A RECALLED PART THAT PUTS SOMEBODY'S LIFE IN DANGER, THEN WHAT ELSE ARE THEY LYING ABOUT. *TR
I LEASED THIS VEHICLE 3/29/13. A COUPLE WEEKS IN IT BEGAN MAKING A LOUD WHINING NOISE. DEALERSHIP SAID IT IS "NORMAL FOR ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEMS". IT'S NOT. THERE IS NOT ANOTHER LINE OUT THERE, FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC, THAT DOES IT. IT HAS BEEN THROUGH THE SHOP 4 TIMES NOW FOR THIS ISSUE. CURRENTLY I HAVE A FORMAL COMPLAINT FILED WITH NISSAN AND AM FILING A LEMON LAW CLAIM. IF THEY CANNOT DETERMINE THE ISSUE HOW CAN THEY DETERMINE THAT IT IS SAFE??? VEHICLE SEEMS TO HANDLE "LOOSELY" AT HIGHER SPEEDS ALSO. IT ALSO RANDOMLY HAS ISSUES ON STARTUP AND MY GAS MILEAGE SEEMS TO GET WORSE AS TIME GOES BY. NOT TO MENTION NOW THAT IT'S KNOWN IN THE MARKET ABOUT THIS ISSUE THE VALUE ON MY CAR HAS DRASTICALLY DECREASED. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW 2013 ALTIMA SEDAN 2.5SL MID OF MARCH. 1. PASSENFER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT ON. PASSENGER AIRBAG SEEMS TO DISABLE ITSELF RANDOMLY. 2. WHINING OR WHISTLING NOISE FROM ENGINE BAY. 3. WHEN I MAKE A TURN(LETF, RIGHT BOTH) I CAN HEAR DRUMING SOUND FROM BACK. *TR
BACKUP CAMERA QUALITY IS NOT VERY GOOD
I WAS DRIVING A BRAND-NEW, NISSAN ALTIMA RENTAL CAR ON A BUSINESS TRIP. AFTER I RETURNED TO MY HOTEL ONE AFTERNOON, I FORGOT TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF. THIS VEHICLE HAS A KEY FOB AND A "START/STOP" BUTTON ONLY. THERE IS NO METAL KEY. AFTER I EXITED THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED THAT THE HORN DID NOT HONK WHEN I LOCKED THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY FOB. THE TRUNK RELEASE DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY OPEN WHEN I USED THE KEY FOB. I MANUALLY PRESSED A BUTTON UNDER THE TRUNK LID TO RETRIEVE MY BAG. THE NEXT MORNING, I NOTICED STEAM AND WATER COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST TAILPIPES. (IT WAS APP. 34 DEGREES THAT MORNING.) I DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING, AND THE CAR USED APP. 3/8S OF A TANK OF GASOLINE OVERNIGHT. MY CONCERN IS THAT A CAR LIKE THIS COULD BE DRIVEN INTO A GARAGE WITH THE ENGINE LEFT ON, AND THEN THE OCCUPANTS OF THE RESIDENCE COULD GET CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING FROM THE EXHAUST FUMES. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS SOME TIME OF WARNING BELL, CHIME, ETC. TO REMIND THE DRIVER THAT THE ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING IF THEY OPEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND/OR EXIT THE VEHICLE. THANK-YOU. *TR
AIR BAG OFF LIGHT COMES ON WITH PASSENGER IN SEAT. DEALER CHECKED, NO ISSUE FOUND. MONTHS LATER, LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON, DEALER FINALLY REPLACED SENSOR AND REPROGRAMMED CAR'S COMPUTER. AS OF TODAY, TWO YEARS LATER, LIGHT STILL TURNS ON. HAVE PICS OF AIR BAG OFF LIGHT ON WITH PASSENGER IN SEAT, AND LIGHT ON WITH NO PASSENGER IN SEAT. CAR NOW OUT OF 36,000 MILE WARRANTY, BUT HAVE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER TO CHECK OUT AGAIN ON 04/14/2015. *TR

BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD NISSAN IS WORKING ON IT. FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CORPORATE AND WAS ASSIGNED A CASE MANAGER WHO SAID THAT THIS WAS ONLY THE SECOND TIME SHE HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING WELL THAT S A LIE BECAUSE THE DEALER SAID IT IS HAPPENING AND MORE THAN TWICE SOMEONE NEEDS TO CHECK THIS OUT POWER STEERING UNIT. *TR
WHEN SITTING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF SIGN COMES OUT AND RANDOMLY DISAPPEAR,APPEAR REPEATEDLY. SIT THE VERY PROPERLY BY OWNER' MANUAL IT COMES OUT. IT MEANS PASSENGER AIR BAG IS OFF SIGN ON IT WILL NOT INFLATE IN A CRASH. I'M VERY SCARY DRIVE THIS CAR WITH SOMEONE WHO SIT THE PASSENGER SEAT. ALTHOUGH SITTING ON THE SEAT PROPERLY AND USING THE SEAT BELT PROPERLY IT DOESN'T MATTERS BECAUSE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT ALWAYS ILLUMINATE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS IN A CRASH. I REALLY WANT TO KNOW NEED AIR BAG FOR WHAT??? NISSAN ALREADY RECALLS SOME CAR SAME ISSUES. ALSO ALTIMA HAS WEIRD WINNING HIGH PITCH NOISE ALL THE TIME AND DRIVE LOW RPM TO CHANGE TO HIGH RPM MAKES VERY LOUD RUMBLING KNOCKING NOISE.IT SEEMS LIKE A DRIVE BELT AND TENSIONER PROBLEMS. DEALER SAY THAT IT IS NORMAL. DEALER ALWAYS SAY "IT IS NORMAL". IF MY WARRANTY IS FINISH THEY SAY THAT IT IS PROBLEMS. I REALLY WANT TO SOLUTIONS. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V069000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SIX TIMES. THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE CENTER CONSOLE AND IN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER EVERY REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 380. *TR
I PURCHASED A NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 IN AUGUST 2012 AND I HAVE HEARD THAT NISSAN HAS MADE SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MOST RECENT CARS BEING PRODUCED TO INCREASE THE OVERALL SAFETY. ARE THESE CHANGES GOING TO BE MADE TO THE CARS MADE THAT DO NOT HAVE THE IMPROVEMENT. *TR
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA SV WITH 10800 MILES ON IT. ABOUT 5000 MILES AGO BEGAN TO HEAR AND FEEL VIBRATION WITH ACCELERATION. NOISE CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. TOOK IT TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THE ISSUE WAS COMING FROM THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE SERPENTINE BELT AND THE TENSIONER. VIBRATION IS CURRENTLY BETTER BUT CONCERNED THIS IS JUST A SHORT TERM SOLUTION. I THINK NISSAN NEEDS TO PUT A RECALL OUT AND FIND A LONG TERM SOLUTION. *TR

THE FAILURE AFFECTED THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY OF THE ROADWAY WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND ALL OF THE 2013 ALTIMA MODELS HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY SWAYED BACK AND FORTH. THE VEHICLE WAS EASIER TO CONTROL ONCE THE SPEED DECELERATED TO 50 MPH AND BELOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. I TOOK DELIVERY ON A NEW NISSAN ALTIMA 3/15/2013, AND THE NIGHT BEFORE, I SAW ONLINE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSORS, SO I ASKED DEALER TO CHECK ON THIS BEFORE I TOOK DELIVERY. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY THAT RECALL SINCE IT WAS MANUFACTURED AFTER THAT 'BATCH'. I NOTICED THE NEXT DAY THAT THE RED DASH AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON, AND ALSO NOTICED THAT THE YELLOW PASSENGER AIRBAG 'OFF' LIGHT WAS ON, EVEN THOUGH NOBODY WAS IN THAT SEAT, NO OBJECT THERE, ETC. I DROVE MY WIFE IN THE CAR A FEW DAYS LATER, AND BOTH RED AND YELLOW LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHETHER SHE WAS IN THE SEAT, OR I WAS IN THE SEAT, OR NOBODY WAS IN THE SEAT. I CHECKED THE OWNERS MANUAL, AND IT INDICATED THAT BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IF IN AN ACCIDENT IF THESE LIGHTS WERE ON. RETURNED TO DEALER ON 3/20/2013 AFTER TELLING THE DEALER THAT I REFUSED TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYMORE UNTIL THIS WAS REMEDIED. AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE, THEY PROVIDED A RENTAL CAR. ON MAY 31, 2013, THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE NISSAN DEALER FROM WHICH THE CAR WAS PURCHASED TO HAVE THE PROBLEM CORRECTED. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM AND THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES. NO REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE FREQUENCY AND DURATION OF THE LIGHT COMING ON CONTINUED TO INCREASE. AT ONE POINT DURING A TRIP TO THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES, THE "OFF" LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED FOR MORE THAN TWO HOURS WHILE DRIVING. ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2013, THE CAR WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. AGAIN, THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES. SUPPOSEDLY, THE DEALER CONTACTED NISSAN FOR ASSISTANCE. IT WAS REPORTED THAT NISSAN DECLINED TO DO ANYTHING SINCE THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES AND THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AGAIN, NO REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG "OFF" LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON OCCASIONALLY WHILE DRIVING. ALTHOUGH, WITH THE ARRIVAL OF COOLER WEATHER, THE FREQUENCY AND DURATION ARE LESS THAN THE OCCURRENCES DURING THE SUMMER HEAT. *TR
AS MANY HAVE ALREADY DESCRIBED, WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE CAR EMITS A HIGH PITCH NOISE. THIS NOISE WAS NOT PRESENT WHEN TEST DRIVING THE CAR AND APPARENTLY ONLY BEGINS TO MANIFEST ITSELF AFTER HAVING BEEN DRIVEN A FEW HUNDRED MILES. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR THE FIRST ATTEMPT TO FIX IT, WE TEST DROVE A BRAND NEW CAR ON THE LOT TO COMPARE THE NOISE, AND IT DID NOT MAKE THIS NOISE. ON MY FIRST ATTEMPT TO FIX THE NOISE I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A BULLETIN TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM BUT ULTIMATELY THE BULLETIN DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. WE TRIED AGAIN.IT APPEARS THAT IT IS THE BRACKET WHICH IS HOLDING THE PUMP IN PLACE THAT IS CAUSING THE NOISE. WHEN THE MECHANIC REMOVED THE BRACKET, THE NOISE DISAPPEARED. THE BRACKET NEEDED TO BE PUT BACK FOR SAFETY REASONS BUT AS SOON AS WE DID, THE NOISE REAPPEARED. THE MECHANIC ULTIMATELY DID SOMETHING THAT REDUCED THE NOISE AND I WAS HAPPY. UNFORTUNATELY, THE NOISE RETURNED AND WHEN I BROUGHT IT BACK, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING TO DO. A REGIONAL PERSON WAS GOING TO BE AT THE DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING WEEK AND I WAS ASKED TO BRING MY CAR BACK FOR HIS ASSESSMENT. HIS ASSESSMENT WAS THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. NISSAN DEEMS THE NOISE NORMAL BECAUSE ALL THE CARS ARE PRODUCING THE NOISE? THAT MAKES IT NORMAL??? THE NOISE IS UNACCEPTABLE AND HAD IT PRESENTED ITSELF DURING THE DRIVE, I WOULD NEVER HAVE BOUGHT IT. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO TURN ON MY RADIO AT A HIGH VOLUME IN ORDER NOT TO HEAR THE HIGH PITCH NOISE. IT'S EMBARRASSING WHEN I HAVE PASSENGERS IN THE CAR WHO ASK ME WHAT THE NOISE IS? I COMPLAINED TO NISSAN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION (THAT'S A JOKE) WHO IS TELLING ME THAT IF THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX, THEN THERE IS NO PROBLEM.THE MECHANIC SAID THAT MINE IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE AND THAT OTHERS HAVE BROUGHT THEIR CAR IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. CORPORATE IS TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! *TR
LEASED THE VEHICLE IN JANUARY 2013. NOTICED THAT WHEN I SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AT RANDOM TIMES. SOMETIMES IT IS ON THE ENTIRE TIME I AM IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, SOMETIMES IT COMES ON AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE AND STAYS ON AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T COME ON AT ALL. BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR VARIOUS FIXES/RECALLS ON THE OCS SYSTEM; HAD THE LATEST RECALL ISSUED IN APRIL 2014 DONE ON MY CAR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND THE LIGHT STILL COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY, SAME AS BEFORE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME, AS I DO NOT KNOW IF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY OR NOT IF WE ARE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THERE IS NO CONSISTENCY WITH THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT BEING ON WHEN I SIT THERE. THE DEALER LOOKED AT IT ONCE MORE FOR ME YESTERDAY (5/28) AND SAID THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHY THE LIGHT ILLUMINATES OR IF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IF I AM INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS NOT A SATISFACTORY ANSWER TO ME. SOMEONE ELSE MUST GET INVOLVED TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED FOR ME. I UNDERSTAND THE DEALERSHIP'S HANDS ARE TIED AS THEY HAVE NO FURTHER DIRECTION/INFO FROM NISSAN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I NEED A RESPONSE AND FIX ON THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS A LOUD NOISE EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE AREA. THE DEFECT ALSO OCCURRED WHENEVER STARTING THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE NOISE ORIGINATED FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP WHICH FUNCTIONED AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
