The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the headlights were dim however, there was no fog or coating on the headlight assemblies that could have caused the failure. The contact stated that other vehicles would either flash their hi-beam lights or sound their horn to inform him that his lights were not on even while the headlights were activated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving out of the driveway, she heard an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact stated upon checking the vehicle, she noticed that the driver’s side rear wheel was turned inward and that the control arm had detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the control arm was fractured, and the failure was related to an unknown recall. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed that the vehicle could not be repaired under the unknown recall as the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall due to the manufactured date of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.
I was backing out of a parking spot and the rear control arm on the drivers side snapped leaving the vehicle inoperable due to safety concerns. I contacted the dealership to order the part for repair and was informed there was a service bulletin for this repair that I was not made aware of.
The original transmission on this car failed and I had it replaced at a Nissan Dealership. In less than two years, the new transmission also failed. I was driving on the highway and transmission gave up and the vehicle would not accelerate putting my Life and others' life in danger/unsafe. I contacted Nissan consumer/customer service and the case manager was not helpful and literally, stonewalled my concerns. Gross negligence by Nissan about the vehicle owners and their safety. The Nissan Altima cars that were manufactured between 2013-2015 are pure LEMONS.
Headlights on the dim projector failed internally where you can't see at night on dim setting. Several forums online with same complaint.
I’ve had numerous vehicles of varying models and types. My vehicle only has 115k miles and the front control arms are gone. Live near beaches so due to salt and corrosion etc. This should not happen
Dimmed headlights
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that there was almost no visibility when the headlights were turned on at night since the headlight reflectors were dim. The headlights failure almost caused a collision on several separate occasions. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that he needed to pay for the diagnosis and repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,867.
My Occupant Classification System is not functioning correctly. There is a voluntary campaign related to this issue (Campaign ID: PC214, NHTSA# 13V-069) that covers 2013 Nissan Altima but for some reason my VIN is not covered under this. However the recall campaign is for the exact problem I am having. I want my VIN to be included in this campaign.
Rear right control arm broke away from the frame. My mechanic said this was due to corrosion due to salt. The Nissan dealer said a selective “ service campaign was conducted but was only for certain VIN’s in certain states. I live in one of those states but was told corrective action had to do with the original delivery destination for the car but not the final delivery location ( Medina, OH). I’ve read the same issues have occurred over and over but Nissan refuses to acknowledge it is widespread. The say it has only affected .003 % of cars. This number is low because most people don’t know they have an issue until it’s too late. At a minimum an inspection needs to be performed on all 2013 Altima’s to determine if there is an issue.
Both headlight low beams are dangerously dim even after replacing the bulbs. Its not possible to see at night while driving unless using high beams to see. Took the vehicle to the dealership afterwards and it was determined the materials in the headlight assembly have deteriorated in both assemblies.
Taken car in for State Inspection after a couple of days Air Bag light is continuing on. Had it checked out and came back on. Taken it to a Nissan Dealership said found Codes B0001 and B0002 B00A0 B0202 Stored in Air Bag System wanted to Replace Clock Spring/Spiral Cable Assembly said Found Internal Malfunction. Car only had 86,000 miles.. Replacement cost on me.
Steering it’s heavy A/C stop working it self Airbag check light on dashboard
Car stalled on highway in 1st lane. Car jerking, stalling, not starting. Found recall on cvt transmissions on car. Nissan consumer affairs refuse to honor recall. States recall closed. Car not drivable. Being fixed at Firestone repair. Begged Nissan consumer affairs because of my safety to please fix. Spoke with 2 managers who would not honor closed past campaign!!! Told them I am a 60 yr old woman now to scarred to drive car. Had no choice but to have it fixed which I cannot afford.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at 45 mph, approaching a stop light the vehicle began to jerk back and forth, the contact was able to stop the vehicle and turn the steering wheel to the right side of a merging lane to avoid oncoming traffic. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the failure with the transmission and it would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately mileage 153,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the vehicle veered to the right. The contact steered to the left and kept turning the steering wheel to the left in to bring the vehicle back into a straight lane. The contact stated that the traction control warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive back to the residence and had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the passenger’s side rear lower control arm had sheared off and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA19002 (Suspension). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
1. The vehicle component that failed was the transmission. The manner in which it failed was total, rendering the vehicle unable to move under its own power. This failure occurred while moving in traffic on a heavily trafficked divided highway. 2. The driver and other occupant of the vehicle were put at great personal risk by being in a disabled vehicle amidst surrounding traffic moving at 40-60 MPH. Occupants of an additional vehicle that stopped behind the disabled vehicle were also put at great personal risk for the same reason. Law enforcement officers who arrived to assist were required to block multiple lanes of oncoming traffic with their duty vehicles. These law enforcement officers were further put at risk by having to push the disabled vehicle 100+ yards through traffic at the aforementioned speeds before it could be safely moved off the roadway. Passing motorists were at great risk of colliding with the disabled vehicle throughout the incident. The total duration of the disabled vehicle being stuck in traffic as described was in excess of 15 minutes. Due to luck and the actions of law enforcement officers, no injuries or fatalities resulted. 3. This mechanical failure has been diagnosed by both independent and manufacturer certified dealer repair shops. 4.T he vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturers authorized service representative, the dealer. Law enforcement officers assisted in recovering the vehicle and confirmed it was disabled. Insurance representatives have not yet inspected the vehicle. 5. There were no warnings or any other sort of indication from the vehicle prior to complete and total failure of the transmission. The vehicle has been properly maintained per manufacturer specifications and is under the mileage at which any reasonable motorist would expect a total failure of this component. 6. After being notified of the above, manufacturer refuses to repair vehicle with a safe transmission.
I went to recall for Altima hood latch no repair, alt rge cvt p0766 ntb16-121, max alt rg mur ocs ntb16-052 and altima hood latch ntb16-011. There were no safety issues with vehicle operation before the recall. The KatyNissan called me on June 7th to notify me that they fried the components during the computer diagnosis. The KatyNissan told me that they will charge Nissan USA for it. I went to the KatyNissan to pick up my car on June 8th, the transmission and i-key warning lights appeared on the head-up display. I called the person in charge and said, "Why is this happening?" He asked me to pay $100 to re-synchronize the car keys because he reprogramed the car computer due to the fry up, and the car jerks violently when shifting the gear. After the pickup, I got a new state registration tag and went back home. MIL warning sign appeared on the head-up display. On the next day morning on June 9th, I brought my car to the dealer for repair. The KatyNissan explained this situation to Nissan USA and Nissan USA stated that they are not responsible for the fry-up during the computer system diagnosis so the KatyNissan and I should split up the expenses in 50:50. I believe this statement is unreasonable, the dealer should take full responsibility.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, she noticed that the headlights were going dim. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
ODI#11431173.....Bought the car may 19 2021 picked it up on may 22.2021 brought it back with issue's 3 days later unprofessional argument place because their blaming me trying to say the car was good until I took possession of it. I broke it therefore I'm responsible, i brought the vehicle back to the them in 3 days because the powersteering fluid leak out n there's a winding and grinding noise n the back tire area their mechanic told me i need bearing on the rear passenger n brakes on rear driver side after addressing the bearing n ordering the right powersteering fluid for the car the owner says i gotta pay half an the mechanic got amnesia quick he didn't tell me i needed brakes anyways car lights traction and brakes come on June 4th notified them they made appointment for the 9th the car lost complete brakes 6/7/2021 tried to speak to the owner again it's my fault so I towed the vehicle to Curry Nissan in Chicopee mass n they knew I was towing it to Nissan i couldn't afford them already spent 7340.00 car shouldn't have had any life threatening issues.
CVT- erratic shifting, shuddering .The same well known problems that Nissan knows about.
Low beam headlights are dangerously dim. Drivers side is so bad, I thought the headlight was burnt out however its not. Passengers side is very dim. It is so bad that this car is only driven during daylight hours, it is too dangerous to drive at night and during inclement weather due to the dim low beams, visibility is horrific. After replacing the headlight bulbs there was no improvement. Im told the lining of the projectors inside the headlight assembly are bad therefore not projecting the beam properly. The headlight assembly's will finally be replaced in 2 weeks. Headlight assembly's should not go bad. Ive never had this issue with any vehicle in my lifetime. The expensive fix should not come out of my pocket, Nissan should recall this issue and repair at their expense.
My vehicle Altima 2.5 S Nissan 2013, I only drove to work very only 67k miles but lately the gear shifter stuck every time I started, I had to stick a key or screw driver into the shrift lock to make it released it, very dangerous to drive with gear shifter stuck all the time... never happened to me with most cars I bought.. this gear shifter stuck supposed to recall back to fix it right for me, this is second car I purchased from Nissan.
My supplemental airbag light is on and I have not been in accident. I know that there was recall for passer side airbag light so I am wondering if there is something going on with driver side air bag.
SON WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE LOWER LINK ARM BROKE. THERE IS A RECALL ON THOSE IN BOTH CANADA AND US BUT THE DEALERSHIP, DARLINGS, WON'T FIX IT. MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED HAD HE BEEN DRIVING AT 60 MPH. NISSAN ISN'T STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND FIXING A MAJOR SAFETY DEFECT.
2013 NISSAN ALTIMA JUST WENT DEAD WHILE DRIVING ON STREET. GOT IT TOWED TO GARAGE, GARAGE SAID CVT DEAD, TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACEMENT, $$$$$, VERY UNHAPPY
While I was driving and had stopped at a red light. When the light turned green the vehicle wouldn’t move and instead shut down. It would power normally again, but when the car is shifted into drive, the car shuts down again. This is incredibly dangerous as my car was stopped in the middle of the road during rush hour. I was lucky to not have been hit. There were no warning signs. It happened very suddenly. I took my car to the dealership and they said my car needs a transmission replacement (car is a 2013 and 61k miles). I found out that there was a class action lawsuit that took place in 2020 for the very problem in the make, year and model of my car (CVTs in many 2013-2016 models). Nissan never recalled the transmissions but instead settled for an extended warranty which ended May 2020 for me. Now it is May 2021 and my transmission needs replacing. This problem is not only a part of the class action lawsuit that is already settled, but there are countless accounts of this problem still happening to people. Nissan is failing to take accountability for their faulty transmissions, which is a danger to the public. I’m am asking that NHTSA pressures Nissan to recall all CVTs and to reimburse people for their CVT repair costs.
MY SON WAS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND MADE A TURN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM BROKE IN HALF. THE CAR WAS ALL OVER THE ROAD AND HE WAS ABLE TO MAKE A STOP ON THE SIDE. LUCKILY, HE DID NOT PASS A ONCOMING VEHICLE AT THE SAME TIME. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO EDMUNDS NISSAN IN COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT I NEED A NEW CONTROL ARM AND THAT THE COST WAS APPROXIMATELY $1200. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND SAW SOME POSTS THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE FROM 2013 TO 2018 MODELS. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER ADVOCACY AND THE REP STATED THAT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ORDERED. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING THAT A PROBLEM HAS BEEN MADE AWARE AND THAT A MANUFACTURER WILL NOT GO TO THE NEXT STEPS TO FIX IT. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS IF NOT DEADLY ACCIDENT IF MY SON WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN THE CAR UNDER CONTROL. NISSAN DID ASSIGN A CASE NUMBER 43804399.
THE DIM HEADLAMPS OF MY 2013 ALTIMA HAVE PROGRESSIVELY DIMMED TO AN UNSAFE LEVEL THAT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE DRIVING PATH AND SURROUNDING AREA. IN MY MANY YEARS OF DRIVING, THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST LIGHTING PROJECTED BY ANY OF MY VEHICLES. THE LIGHTING WAS GREAT WHEN PURCHASED USED IN 2016 BUT OVERTIME IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AND ESPECIALLY DURING RAIN STORM EXCEPT WHEN LIGHTNING LIGHTS THE SKY.. SAFETY RECALL IS JUSTLY NEEDED, ARE WE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN?
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE WILL NOT OPEN THE DOOR, I HEARD AND FELT A CRACK WHEN TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. YOU HAVE TO OPEN BY USING THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. IF THIS CAR WAS TOO BE IN AN ACCIDENT THE PASSENGER COULD BECOME TRAPPED INSIDE. THIS HAPPEN WHILE PARKED.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM, TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE FOR NIGHT DRIVING AND DANGEROUS. ON A DARK OR SEMI DARK ROAD THERE IS ALMOST NO ROAD VISIBILITY.
my 2013 Nissan Altima 4 door sedan hood is flapping on my car. If I go a certain speed limit the windshield will come up and hit my front window. Very unsafe and very dangerous for me and my 1 year old daughter. Thanks.
REAR CONTROL ARMS BOTH HAVE BROKEN. THERE IS A SERVICE CAMPAIGN BULLETING FOR THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL, HOWEVER THE SPECIFIC VIN DOES NOT APPLY ACCORDING TO NISSAN. A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND NISSAN WILL NOT FIX THE VEHICLE UNDER THE CAMPAIGN.
THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED PREMATURELY. THE CAR HAS STALLED CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE VEHICLE WILL VIBRATE AND PULLS ODDLY AT LOW SPEEDS. A BURNING SMELL HAS NOW DEVELOPED AND I CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. THERE ARE MANY MANY OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION ON MY CAR.
REAR, LOWER CONTROL ARM THAT CONNECTS REAR WHEEL TO VEHICLE BROKE WHILE DRIVING, NEARLY CAUSING A CRASH. AND NISSAN IS REFUSING TO COVER THE EXPENSE OF THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE! (SEE NISSAN'S SERVICE BULLETIN P9324). NISSAN NEED'S TO BE HELP ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PART. COMPLETE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IS VERY LIKELY, ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR THE ACCELERATION IS HESITANT. WHEN SITTING AT A RED LIGHT AND GO TO ACCELERATE THERE IS A DELAY IN WHICH THE CAR WON'T MOVE. WHEN DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SEEM TO WANT TO SHIFT. THIS HAPPENS BOTH ON A STREET AND HIGHWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the hood erroneously opened and slammed into the body and windshield and causing damage to the body of the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted regarding the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was included in the NHTSA campaign number 20V315000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V315000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED AUTONATION TOYOTA TEMPE (7970 S. AUTOPLEX LOOP, TEMPE, AZ 85284, (480) 420-3425) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PARALLEL PARKING, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMALLY LOUD SOUND AND NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR TIRE WAS TILTED INWARD. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE CONTROL ARM NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
I OWN A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 108,000 MILES. I AM THE FIRST AND ONLY OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. IT WAS PURCHASED IN MISSOURI, HOWEVER, I HAVE LIVED AND DRIVEN THE VEHICLE IN IOWA FOR THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. ON MARCH 28, 2021 THE REAR LOWER LINK CORRODED AND BROKE WHILE DRIVING 55MPH ON HWY 6 IN EASTERN IOWA. NISSAN HAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM IN 22 STATES INCLUDING IOWA, YET THEY REFUSE TO HONOR THIS RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE CLAIMING THAT NHTSA SETS THE PARAMETERS AND SELECTS THE VIN NUMBERS FOR THE RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA AND NHTSA SEVERAL TIMES AND CANNOT GET AN ANSWER AS TO WHY THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL.
THE REAR LOWER SUSPENSION LINK BROKE WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH ON A WELL MAINTAINED HIGHWAY CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL.
CAR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, BEGAN JERKING AND A SHAKING RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. THESE PROBLEMS STARTED AROUND 70,000 MILES. RECENTLY MY CAR STARTED JERKING WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE OUT OF A SUBDIVISION THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ALSO THE TRACTION LIGHT. I COULDN'T ACCELERATE SO I SAFELY PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD BECAUSE IT FELT LIKE I LOST POWER. I WAS ABLE TO TAKE IT TO AUTOZONE NEARBY WHERE THE SCANNER READ A CODE FOR A STUCK SOLENOID. AFTER TAKING IT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO WORK ON RECALLS RELATED TO MY VEHICLE (INCLUDING A CVT REPROGRAMMING),THEY CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY WENT OUT WHEN MECHANIC TRIED PULLING IT INTO SHOP. NOW I'M STUCK WITH A CAR I CAN'T DRIVE AND CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX. THEY QUOTED ME $4200 TO REPLACE A TRANSMISSION THAT SEEMS TO BE FAULTY IN THE FIRST PLACE. YOUR CUSTOMERS NEED TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THIS. AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE ONLY SOLUTION. I'LL NEVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN AND WILL BE AVOIDING CVT TRANSMISSIONS IF POSSIBLE.
I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS AS CAN BE SEEN BY THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS. THE NHTSA SHOULD HOLD NISSAN RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT.
DEFECTIVE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
LOW BEAMS ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT, I HAVE TO USE HIGH BEAMS TO BE ABLE TO SEE, WHICH IN COMMON SENSE MAKES IT REALLY DANGEROUS FOR ME AS WELL THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD BY ME USING THE HIGH BEAMS, I BEEN LOOKING AROUND TO THE PROBLEM, AND THE PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHTS IS WHERE THE LOW BEAM SITS ( THE SOCKET ), OVER TIME IT GETS BURNT AND IT JUST DESTROY THE WHOLE REFLECTION OF THE HALOGEN BULB, I PLACED AN IMAGE SO YOU ALL CAN CHECK IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR CONTROL ARM FRACTURED AFTER DRIVING OVER A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER MIKE BARNEY NISSAN LOCATED AT 3676 SHERIDAN DR, AMHERST, NY 14226 WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO CORROSION AND RUSTING. THE CONTROL ARM WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.*DT*JB
UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR WHEN ENGAGING FOOT BRAKE WHEN STARTING VEHICLE. SHIFT IS STUCK IN PARK. HAVE TO USE TOOL IN SHIFT LOCK RELEASE TO MOVE BETWEEN GEARS TO DRIVE CAR. I WAS DRIVING AND WAS STOPPED AT A RAILWAY CROSSING. PUT CAR IN PARK. ONCE TRAIN HAD PASSED I TRIED TO PUT CAR IN DRIVE POSITION AND WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. AFTER READING MANUAL I DISCOVERED THAT IF A FAULT OCCURS YOU MUST USE A TOOL ON THE SHIFT LOCK BUTTON RELEASE TO MOVE VEHICLE. VERY DANGEROUS.
WHEN I GET TO 60 MPH OR ABOVE I GET A TERRIBLE SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND FEELS LIKE THE WHEEL ARE SHAKING. DOES NOT FEEL SAFE.
A FEW MONTHS BACK I TOOK MY CAR IN TO HAVE THE AIRBAG RECALL FIXED. FLASH FORWARD A FEW MONTHS AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON. IF SOMEBODY SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE LIGHT GOES OFF. THE NISSAN DEALER IS SAYING THE OCS SENSOR SOMETIMES GO BAD AND QUOTES $400-$1500 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND IS KEPT CLEAN SO THERE IS NO CHANCE THAT AN ITEM EFFECTED THE OCS SENSOR UNDER THE SEAT WHEN THE SEAT WAS MOVED. BUT THE MORE I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE THE MORE SUSPICIOUS THIS SEEMS. HOW DO SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM...AND HOW MAMY OTHERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT CANT OR DONT KNOW HOW TO REPORT IT.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE HOOD FLEW UP AND BUSTED THE WINDSHELD.
