TAKATA RECALL: THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR IN MY 2014 ALTIMA HAS SOMEHOW BROKEN FROM THE INSIDE-OUT. I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT IT BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING OVER THE LAST YEAR. IT WILL NOT STAY CLIPPED INTO PLACE AND IT SEEMS THE CLIP OR SOME PIECE INSIDE OF THE VISOR AFFECTS THE ABILITY FOR THE VISOR TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE VISOR BEING BROKEN IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IT PROHIBITS MY VIEW AS THE DRIVER AND THE VISOR SWINGS INTO MY VIEW WHEN TURNING. WHEN THE VISOR IS LOCKED IN PLACE, I HAVE TO CROUCH DOWN TO SEE UNDER IT. IT SEEMS TO BE A HAZARD AND CONCERN FOR MANY OTHER NISSAN OWNERS. THE REAL ISSUE OF SAFETY AND THE HAZARD IS THAT THE VISOR WASN'T BROKEN DUE TO POOR USE, IT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE FROM ITS INCEPTION.
TRANSMISSION IS DONE. SHUDDERING UNDER POWER AND RPMS ALL OVER THE PLACE.
THE CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD AND SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THIS IS NOT A SAFE VEHICLE AND NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.
I COMMUTE 100 MILES A DAY AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ONCE HEADLIGHTS ARE REQUIRED. I ALSO LIVE IN A RURAL AREA WHERE THERE IS LIMITED TO NO STREET LIGHTING. DRIVING WITH HIGH BEAMS PUTS OTHER DRIVERS AT RISK SO THIS IS NOT SAFE OPTION. NISSAN KNOWINGLY IS PUTTING DRIVERS AT RISK AS THIS PROBLEM AFFECTS 2013-2015 ALTIMA MODELS--THEY SHOULD HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. I MAY HAVE TO GET RID OF THE CAR.
THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME OF THE RECALLS. I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO GET IT CHECKED
I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA SV, AND THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. I ALSO DID SOME ONLINE SEARCHES AND FIND THAT OTHER ALTIMA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DIM LOW BEAM IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE! THE CLOUDY PROJECTOR LENS IS THE REASON! BECAUSE, FIRSTLY I REPLACED THE BULBS, BUT THERE WAS NO CHANGE; SECONDLY, THE HIGH BEAM WORKS PERFECTLY, INDICATING THE THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE OUTER TRANSPARENT SHIELD. THE HIGH BEAM BULB LIES IN A REGULAR REFLECTION BOWL RATHER THAN IN A PROJECTOR LIKE THE LOW BEAM USED. OTHER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH REGULAR REFLECTION BOWL FOR LOW BEAM WORKS PERFECTLY, SUCH AS 2007 BUICK LUCERNE (12 YEARS AGE!). THEREFORE, THE DESIGN OF THE LOW BEAM USING A PROJECTOR ON 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA IS DEFECTIVE, PUTTING THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS INTO DANGER WHEN THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS GETTING DIM. THEY NEED TO OPEN A RECALL AND REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
WHILE DEIVING AT NIGHT, THE LOW BEAMS /HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT AT NIGHT IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE MY HUSBAND DRIVES THE CAR BUT I DROVE IT AT NIGHT LAST NIGHT AND I NOTICED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME I THINK IT SHOULD BE BRIGHTER I HAVE TO KEEP FLASHING THE HIGH BEAMS TO MAKE SURE
THE LOW-BEAM LIGHTS SUDDENLY BECAME DIM. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AT NIGHT. THE LAMPS ARE MUCH DIMMER THAN THE DAY BEFORE.
MY CAR WAS LOOSING POWER AND DYING WHEN PUT INTO GEAR OR SHORTLY AFTER TRYING TO GO. THOUGHT IT MAY BE A ALTERNATOR PROBLEM AS I WAS LOOSING POWER. TURNS OUT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. FOUND OUT THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS REPROGRAMMED ONE YEAR AGO AND NOW IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND ONLY HAS 73,000 MILES. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN I PLACED THE CAR IN GEAR AND STARTED MOVING AND IT DIED ON ME CROSSING A MAJOR HIGHWAY. NO WARNING SIGNS BEFOREHAND THAT ANYTHING WAS GOING ON WITH THE CAR.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY SUNROOF SHATTERED, SOUNDING LIKE A GUN SHOT. I HAD THE SUNROOF REPLACED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY CAR IN 2014 FOR LEAKS. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE UNTIL TODAY (9/5/18). WE WERE TRAVELING ON US 75N NEAR COLLINS ROAD AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. I'M NOT AWARE OF ANYTHING THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS RANDOM OCCURRENCE.
MY HEADLIGHT ARE SO DIM THAT IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. MY MECHANIC CHANGED THE BULB AND CLEANED UP PROJECTION, STILL BLIND. HELP!!!
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO BAD THAT IT'S A DRIVING HAZARD WHEN DRIVING OUTSIDE OF AREAS WITH VERY GOOD STREET LIGHTING, OR ON RURAL ROADS. WITH THE HEADLIGHTS (ON LOW) YOU CAN'T SEE "ANYTHING" AND IF SOME IS WALKING, OR BIKING, ON THE ROAD (OR IF THERE IS AN ANIMAL), YOU DON'T SEE THEM UNTIL IT'S "TOO LATE". PLEASE FORCE NISSAN TO MAKE RE-CALL AND CHANGE THE HEALDIGHTS. THERE ARE SEVERAL POST ON INTERNET ABOUT IT AND IT'S CLEAR IS'S NOT A "USAGE" ISSUES, BUT JUST A BAD DESIGN/PRODUCT. I HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT (YET) SO THIS PETITION IS TO PRE-POSITIVE ONE, TO AVOID THAT ACCIDENTS HAPPEN.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DIM DEALER SAYS NEEDS BOTH COMPLETE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES REPLACED THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TOO DIM TO ILLUMINATE THE STREET TO DRIVE AT NIGHT
WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW THE HEADLIGHTS SEEMED FINE, BUT OVER TIME I NOTICED THEY WERE GETTING DIM, AND NOW I CAN HARDLY TELL THE LOW BEAMS ARE EVEN ON, THE HIGH BEAMS SEEM TO WORK JUST FINE. SO I TRIED CHANGING THE BULBS FOR LOW BEAMS AND IT DIDN'T HELP AT ALL. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE THEY FAIL ALL TOGETHER AND SOMEONE GETS HURT OR EVEN KILLED.
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. VISIBILITY IS VERY POOR AT NIGHT TIME AND WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE I HAVE TO PLAN MY TRIPS TO DRIVE IN THE DAY TIME. I ALREADY REPKACED THE BULBS BUT IT DID NOT HELP AND WAS TOLD I HAVE TO REPLACED THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY.
THE LOW BEAMS ARE NON-EXISTENT AND I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON AND GET FLASHED BY ANGRY ONCOMING DRIVERS ALL THE TIME. THIS ADDS TO MY VISIBILITY HAZARDS AT NIGHT. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I HAVE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
ON 8/31/2018, I TOOK MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA INTO THE FRED HASS NISSAN SVC, DEPT. FOR AN OIL CHANGE, IN TOMBALL TX AND WHILE THERE, REPORTED THAT THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS REMAINING ON AFTER 7 SECONDS AND REMAINED ON ALL THE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT CODE FOUND WAS CLEARED AND NO REPAIR WAS RECOMMENDED. ON 9/5/2018, I SPOKE WITH (XXXX), SVC, MGR. AT FRED NISSAN AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ON AGAIN. MR. (XXXX) MADE A 7AM APPOINTMENT FOR ME TO BRING MY VEHICLE TO THE SVC. DEPT., ON 9/6/2018 FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS AND HE WOULD CONTACT NISSAN FOR RECOMMENDATIONS. LATER ON, MR. (XXXX) INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD SPOKEN WITH SOMEONE AT NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF ANY CURRENT OR FUTURE REPAIRS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR SYSTEM, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. UNFORTUNATELY, THE GOLD EXTENDED WARRANTY I PURCHASED DOES NOT COVER MALFUNCTIONS OF SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG SYSTEM OR ANY OF ITS COMPONENTS. THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON UPON A COLD AND WARM START AND REMAINS ON WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN.
NISSAN ALTIMA 2014, 88000 MILES. HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE CAR. VERY DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING AT NIGHT. IT IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE BULBS, THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED. BRIGHTS WORK FINE.
THE CAR SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. IT DID NOT RESTART RIGHT AWAY. AFTER TRYING SEVERAL TIMES THE CAR STARTED. ALSO, IT WOULD SLOW DOWN WHILE DRIVING UP HILL UNTIL THE CAR STOPPED. AFTER WAITING SEVERAL MINUTES AND FLOORING THE GAS PETAL THE CAR CONTINUED FORWARD. MY SAFETY CONCERN IS THE CAR SUDDENLY SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS CHECKED OUT BY A MECHANIC TODAY, HE SAID THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN SPUTTERING AND JERKING SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED IT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT DISMISSING ME SAYING THERE ARE NO WARNINGS DASH LIGHTS ON . THE CAR DIED IN A STORE PARKING LOT AND I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP. THE CODES INDICATED A TECH SERVICE BULLETIN THAT STATES "NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION". NOW MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS DENYING THIS IS THE CORRECT CODE AND IT ONLY NEEDS SOME MINOR ADJUSTING. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR OVER A YEAR AND NOW MY POWER TRAIN WARRANT EXPIRES IN LESS THAN 100 MILES. INITIALLY THEY AGREED WITH ME AND TOLD ME IT NEEDS THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED, BUT NOW THEY HAVE DENIED IT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. IT SPUTTERS,JERKS, HESITATES AND LOSES ACCELERATION AND IT IS SCARY TO HAVE TO DRIVE IT. I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE.
THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ON MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA ARE SO LOW THAT YOU CANNOT SEE AT NIGHT. I HAVE CHANGE THE BULBS 2 TIMES AND I'M STILL GETTING THE SAME RESULTS. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL SHOP AND THEY SUGGESTED ME CHANGING OUT BOTH HEAD LIGHTS. WHY HAVEN'T THIS ISSUE BEEN RECALL BY NISSAN?
DEFECTIVE LOW -BEAM HEADLIGHT WHILE DRIVEING THE VEHICLE YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING AND FRONT OF YOU. LOOK LIKE THE HEADLIGHTS ARE FACING THE GROUND . YOU WOULD HAVE TO TURN ON THE HIGH BEAM HEAD LIGHT IN ORDER TO SEE A SAFE DISTANCE AHEAD .THE DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHT MAY BE INADEQUATE TO MEET STATE AND FEDERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CORPORATE OFFICE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THEY INFORM ME TO TAKE THE CARE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND GET IT LOOK AT THE FILE A CLAIM. I HAVE DONE BOTH STILL NO RESOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE ,ALSO I HAVE RESEARCH ONLINE IN A LOT OF CUSTOMER HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE 2013 -2017 NISSAN ALTIMA LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ISSUES NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT ONLY THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS PROVIDE EXTRA SIGHT TO SEE AHEAD . IN CONCLUSION I HAVE HAD THE HEADLIGHT CHANGED AS WELL THIS THE ISSUE HAVEN'T BEEN RESOLVED .
LAST YEAR CVT WAS SLIPPING, DELAYED ACCELERATION WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT THEN TRYING TO DRIVE, THEY UPDATED SOFTWARE. SAME THING HAPPENED OUT OF NOWHERE THE OTHER DAY. NO PRIOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND THE CAR HAD DELAYED ACCELERATION TWICE WHEN I STOPPED AT LIGHTS, THEN MINUTES LATER I TURN ONTO A BUSY STREET AND THE CVT TRANSMISSION SLIPPED, CAUSING MY CAR TO REV UP TO 4RPM BUT BARELY GO 20 MPH. BEING TOLD BY NISSAN THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ONLY HAS 82000 MILES. NO PRIOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES.
I LAST MONTH FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE NTHSA ABOUT MY 2014 ALTIMA'S BAD TRANSMISSION. I HAD CONTACTED NISSAN USA MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY FIRST ACKNOWLEDGED LIABILITY (EVEN THOUGH IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY) AND OFFERED TO PAY THE PART (NEW TRANSMISSION). BUT ON AUG 15, 2018, THEY CLAIMED THAT SINCE THE LOCAL DEALER "CANNOT DUPLICATE THE CONCERN", MY CAR IS "OKAY TO DRIVE", DENYING ANY RESPONSIBILITY OF ANY FUTURE ACCIDENTS OR DAMAGE. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP NISSAN MAGUIRE DOES NOT AGREE WITH NISSAN USA. THE CAR IS NOT IN GOOD OPERABLE CONDITION. WHEN I SHIFT THE GEAR TO DRIVE, THE STEPPING ON THE GAS DOES NOT DELIVER POWER TO THE ENGINE FOR 2-3 SECONDS. SO, WHEN I STOP ON THE HILL AND PUT IT TO DRIVE, THE CAR ROLLS DOWN FOR SECONDS UNTIL IT MOVES FORWARD. BUT NISSAN USA RENOUNCED ITS LIABILITY AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE A NEW TRANSMISSION. I ASKED WHAT IF I GET INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND ALL THEY SAID IS CONTACT THEM WHEN IT HAPPENS. I THINK THEY ARE ACCOMPLICT IN MURDERING ME AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD.
I HAVE CHANGED THE LIGHT BULBS 3 TIMES . THEY ARE SO DIM I AVOIDED ACCIDENTS . I DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAM AND IT IS NOT FAIR FOR THE OTHER DRIVERS. UNIVERSAL NISSAN IN ORLANDO IN ZIP CODE TOLD ME IT IS NORMAL.MY PERSONAL MECHANIC TOLD ME IT IS NOT THE BULB BUT THE MIRROE SURROUNDING THE BULB THAT IS FADED.A FEW PEOPLE I KNOW HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEM.
IN DECEMBER 2016 WITH APPROXIMATELY 40K MILES ON ODOMETER, THE CAR STALLED AT AN INTERSECTION. AFTER STARTING AGAIN, IT STALLED EACH TIME WHILE PUTTING IT IN GEAR. AFTER A TOW TO NISSAN DEALER, THEY INFORMED ME OF A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THEY MENTIONED REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION, BUT DECIDED TO CHANGE AN INTERNAL COMPONENT (I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT PART) TO THE TRANSMISSION INSTEAD OF THE WHOLE THING, WHICH AT THE TIME I WAS O.K. WITH BECAUSE I WASN'T PLEASED A 2 1\2 YEAR OLD CAR WITH 40K MILES WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND NEW SHOULD NEED A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT (ESPECIALLY WASN'T PLEASED IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WITH A REBUILT ONE). IT RAN OK AFTERWARDS, BUT SOMETHING WASN'T THE SAME AS WHEN IT WAS NEW. SEVERAL TIMES I REPORTED A PROBLEM WITH THE REVS JUST BEFORE THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. RPM'S WOULD SPIKE AND THEN DIP DOWN LOW LIKE THE CAR WAS GOING TO STALL BEFORE LEVELING OUT AGAIN. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER COUPLE TIMES AFTERWARDS AND THEY EXPLAINED IT WAS NORMAL AND SIMILAR MODELS THEY TESTED DID THE SAME THING. FAST FORWARD TO AUGUST 2018, THE CAR NOW HAS 65K MILES AND THE PROBLEM WITH STALLING WHILE DRIVING IT HAS RE-OCCURRED. ANOTHER TOW TO DEALER AND NOW THEY SUGGEST A $4000+ TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT (WITH A REBUILT ONE). NOT A HAPPY NISSAN OWNER! HAVE READ MANY ONLINE COMPLAINTS WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL VEHICLE (2014 NISSAN ALTIMA) WITH SAME PROBLEM. NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND DECLARE A RECALL ON THESE CARS. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS THEY CAN STALL OUT AT ANY TIME ENDANGERING LIVES! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR BEING TOO DIM TO BARELY SEE AT NIGHT. NOW I CAN'T EVEN PASS STATE INSPECTION DUE TO THIS ONGOING ISSUE
THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2013-2015 HEADLIGHTS BECOMING SO DIM THE VEHICLE ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS. THROUGH A LOT OF RESEARCH AND MONEY OF REPLACING BULBS AND TIME PULLING THE HEADLIGHTS APART IT'S APPARENT THE REFLECTIVE MATERIAL IN THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS IS BURNT OFF OR OXIDIZED PREVENTING THE HEADLIGHT FROM FUNCTIONING PROPERLY ALLOWING THE DRIVER TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE SAFELY IN ANY DRIV ING CONDITIONS AT ALL. NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED THESE FAULTY HEADLIGHTS AND REFUSES TO CORRECT THIS UNSAFE ISSUE.
I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED A BUSY INTERSECTION WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. WITH NO WARNING THE CAR JERKED FORWARD. THE FORCE OF THE JERKING MOTION WAS SO GREAT THAT I INITIALLY THOUGHT I WAS REAR ENDED. THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO SHUT OFF, I HAD CARS IN FRONT AND BACK OF ME AND HAD NO WHERE TO GO. I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO PARK TO TRY AND GIVE IT SOME GAS TO KEEP IT FROM SHUTTING OFF AND IT IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN. I TRIED STARTING THE CAR AGAIN AND IT IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN AS SOON AS I TRIED TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE. I DID THIS MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE CAR KEPT SHUTTING DOWN. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO KEEP MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE GAS AT THE SAME TIME AND KEEP THE CAR RUNNING. I MADE IT TO WORK THANKFULLY I WAS ONLY TWO BLOCKS AWAY AND HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED BACK HOME. I WAS SHAKING AND SCARED TO DEATH. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!! I LATER FOUND OUT THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WILL COST APROX $4000! THIS CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH AND READING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION.. I AM SHOCKED THAT NISSAN IS STILL ALLOWED TO CONTINUE WITH THIS "DEATH TRAP" OF A CAR! SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT IN THIS CAR!!
HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA ARE EXTREMELY DIM. IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THEM FOR $700 PLUS THE LABOR!. ARE THEY REPLACING WITH THE SAME LIGHTS SINCE THEY INSIST THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTS?
HEADLIGHT ARE VERY DIM AT NIGHT . WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING WITH THE LOW BEAM LIGHT YOU WILL HAVE TO TURN ON THE HIGH BEAM LIGHT . I CONTACTED NISSAN THEY INFORM ME THAT THIS ISSUE WOULD BE INVESTIGATED HOWEVER THEY STILL HAVEN'T CONTACTED ME BACK . I CHANGED THE HEADLIGHT MULTIPLE TIME , ALSO I HAD THE HEADLIGHT RESTORATION . HOWEVER THAT SILL HAVEN'T RESOLVED THE ISSUE . I AM AT THE CONCLUSION THAT A ACCIDENT WILL TAKE PLACE DUE TO THE HEADLIGHT BEEN VERY THIN YOU CANNOT SEE WHAT IS IN FRONT OF YOU ONCE YOU ARE DRIVING THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IN WILL TAKE SOMEONE LIFE.
I PURCHASED MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA 6 YEARS AGO. OVER TIME THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME VERY DIM. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITHOUT USING MY HIGH BEAMS BECAUSE MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM. I CANNOT DRIVE IN THE RAIN AT NIGHT BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE THE MARKINGS ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE CHANGED THE BULB AT LEAST 4 TIMES AND THAT HAS NOT HELPED. I HAVE OTHER DRIVERS FLASHING ME BECAUSE THEY THINK MY LIGHTS AREN'T ON.THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT WITH CASUALTIES TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE. THERE SHOULD BE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL ON THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES. *TR
WHILE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, I NOTICE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS STIFF. I COULD NOT STEER THE CAR PROPERLY. I HAD TO KEEP A TIGHT GRIP ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE EXITING ONTO THE STREET. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IN VARIOUS DIRECTIONS, THE STIFFNESS IN THE STEERING WHEEL COULD BE FELT WITH EACH TURNING OF THE WHEEL. WHILE DRIVING AND PREPARING TO STOP, THE STEERING WHILE WOULD ALMOST LOCK CAUSING THE CAR TO DRIFT. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND HELD TIGHTLY ON THE STEERING WHEEL.
WHEN STARTING VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTING TO MOVE GEAR SHIFTER INTO A DIFFERENT GEAR FROM PARK, GEAR SHIFTER WON'T MOVE. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES IS WHEN IT'LL WORK. FOOT IS PRESSED ON BRAKE.
IN AUGUST OF 2017 MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA'S TORQUE CONVERTER FRAGMENTED PIECES OF ITSELF INTO MY TRANSMISSION FLUID. THIS RESULTED IN MY CAR TUGGING AND SHUDDERING WHILE DRIVING UNDER SPEEDS OF 30 MPH INCLUDING SLOWING DOWN AND ACCELERATING. AT A POINT MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE IN DRIVE AND I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE SELMA NISSAN DEALERSHIP. AFTER A WEEK OF NO FINDING OF THE ISSUE IT WAS BROUGHT TO FRESNO LITHIA WITH THE SAME RESULT OF NO FINDING OF THE ISSUE. A YEAR LATER THE VEHICLE PRODUCED THE SAME PROBLEMS AND AGAIN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE IN DRIVE AND I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE FRESNO LITHIA DEALERSHIP FOR A FULL INSPECTION AGAIN. UPON FURTHER IDENTIFICATION THEY NOTED THAT THIS HAS BECOME A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2013 & 2014 NISSAN ALTIMAS AS THE TORQUE CONVERTER WILL BECOME STUCK AND WHILE SHIFTING AND FORCE THE VEHICLE TO STALL AND SHUT OFF. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND YET I HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION FOR MY VEHICLE. I'VE CALLED NISSAN CORPORATE AT (615) 725-7154 AND THEY INFORMED ME THEY DO NOT CONDUCT RECALLS. I SEE THAT IF THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IS SO COMMON WHY IS IT NOT ON A RECALL AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS FIX ON MY 4 YEAR OLD CAR. I'M A MARINE VETERAN WITH A 2 MONTH OLD BABY AND $3500 FOR A TRANSMISSION IS NOT CHEAP FOR ME IN MY POSITION. I DO HAVE DOCUMENTATION FROM 3 DEALERSHIPS NOTING I BROUGH IN MY VEHICLE WITH THE OCCURRING PROBLEM DATING BACK A YEAR AGO. I ALSO HAVE PRINTED DOCUMENTATION OF MY NEW TRANSMISSION FOR MY VEHICLE AND POSITIVE TEST RESULT OF MY VEHICLE PERFORMING 4 OUT OF 10 TIMES OF VEHICLE SHUDDERING AND TURNING OFF. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG BY NISSAN AS THEY MIGHT FEAR A RECALL OF THEIR VEHICLES.
LAST WEEK (JULY 19, 2018) MY FAMILY WAS ON A TRIP BACK FROM NYC TO ITHACA. WHEN WE ARRIVED IN THE ITHACA AREA AND STOPPED THE CAR AT A RED LIGHT, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. WE WERE ABLE TO PUSH THE ENGINE BUTTON AGAIN TO RESTART THE CAR. SO, I THOUGHT IT WAS NOT A BIG DEAL. TWO DAYS LATER, THE ENGINE TURNED OFF AT A RED LIGHT ON THE ROAD AND IT DID NOT MOVE. CARS BEHIND ME KEPT HONKING AND MY DAUGHTER CRIED IN HORROR. THE ENGINE WAS IGNITED WHEN I PUSH THE ENGINE BUTTON AND THE SHIFT IS IN PARK. BUT AS SOON AS I PUT IT IN DRIVE, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AGAIN. THEN I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK, PUSHED THE ENGINE BUTTON, IT WAS TURNED ON. WHEN I PUT IT BACK TO DRIVE, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS FOR A FEW MINUTES, I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE ENGINE ALIVE IN DRIVE AND DROVE THE CAR, AND PARKED THE CAR IN FRONT OF THE DEALERSHIP. I BARELY MANAGED TO DO THAT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I REALIZED THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE.

FUEL TANK DETACHMENT OCCURS. DEFECTIVE FASTENERS. RUBBING SOUND OCCURS WHEN TURNING, BACKING UP AND HIGH SPEEDS. FIRST HAPPENED IN JULY2018...HAD FUEL TANK COMPLETELY REPLACED. NOW THERE'S A PROBLEM AGAIN.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUTTER OR HESITATE. THE CONTACT CALLED SPARKS NISSAN KIA (1100 AUTO MALL DR, MONROE, LA 71203 (318) 322-1800), BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 13,020.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON THE DASH AND WILL NOT TURN OFF. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY STATED THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED ON THE VEHICLE RECALL LIST ALTHOUGH WE ARE ENCOUNTERING THE SAME ISSUES. THE ISSUE OCCURS WHETHER THE CAR IS STILL OR IN MOTION AND WHETHER THE SEAT IS OCCUPIED OR NOT. IT'S NOT SAFE TO HAVE A PASSENGER.
THE BULBS ARE FADING AND HAVE BEEN REPLACED. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER FINDING THIS PROBLEM.
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE GETTING DIM, BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE BULB GOING BAD BUT BOTH AT THE SAME TIME, TOOK OUT THE BULBS AND THEY WERE AS BRIGHT AS EVER . IN READING ON LINE , I FOUND SO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS AND NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THIS . I ALMOST KILLED SOMEONE LAST NIGHT BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE THEM BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTS. UNTIL SOMEONE ACTUALLY GETS KILLED , I DON'T THINK ANYONE WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, BUT NISSAN KNOWS AND THEY WILL NOT RECALL.
TRANSMISSION ISSUES RELATED TO CVT TRANSMISSION. CAUSES CAR TO STALL OR SIGNIFICANTLY DELAY WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS. KNOWN ISSUE BUT NISSAN WILL NOT COVER WITHOUT A 'DIAGNOSIS' WHICH IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET AS THE PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT BUT INTERMITTENT. WAS TOLD ONLY WAY TO FIX THE WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITHOUT A SPECIFIC DIAGNOSIS ON MY VEHICLE IS IF THERE IS AN NTSB RECALL. GIVEN THE SIGNIFICANT RISK ASSOCIATED WITH A CAR THAT STALLS WHEN YOU ARE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN, I WOULD LIKE THE NTSB TO BE AWARE OF THIS AND DETERMINE IF THE RISK TO THE CONSUMER OUTWEIGHS THE COST TO THE MANUFACTURER.
I WAS NEARLY KILLED WHEN MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 114K MILES ABRUPTLY LOST ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR COMMUTE. AFTER BEING TOWED AND INSPECTED AT THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS HIT WITH THE NEWS THAT I NEEDED A NEW CVT!! THIS IS A HUGE DANGER AS IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING AND THIS TECHNOLOGY NEEDS TO BE PULLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. I ALMOST WAS!!
I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE. THE TRANSMISSION GRINDED AND THE MOTOR STALLED. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE MOTOR CONTINUED TO STALL. THE TRANSMISSION CLUNKS AND SPUTTERS. IT ONLY HAS 58,000 MILES. THESE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED REQUIRING NISSAN TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSIONS.
FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, I CHANGED THE LIGHT BULBS 3 TIMES. THE PROBLEM IS THE PROJECTORS NOT THE LIGHT. THIS IS ACCIDENT ABOUT TO HAPPEN. THEY ARE JUST CANDLES. I MUST DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAM WHICH IS VERY BRIGHT AND IT NOT FAIR FOR THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME. NISSAN DEALER WANTS $700 TO REPLACE THE PROJECTORS.

LOW BEAM LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. HAD BULBS CHANGED AND IT IS NO BETTER AT ALL. WHEN YOU TURN ON LOW BEAM YOU CANNOT SEE 1 FT IN FRONT OF YOU AND HAVE TO BASICALLY STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TILL THE ONCOMING CAR HAS PASSED. VERY, VERY DANGEROUS !!
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE PROGRESSIVELY GETTING MORE DIM OVER TIME. LIGHTS ARE DIM ALL THE TIME, NOT RELATED TO IDLE OR OTHER FUNCTIONS. MILEAGE IS 80,000 MILES. NIGHT DRIVING IS HAZARDOUS. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE LIGHTING ONLY A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR, NOT ILLUMINATING TRAFFIC SIGNS, DIFFICULTY WHEN MAKING TURNS AT A CORNER OR DRIVEWAY. I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT, THE HIGH BEAMS WORK FINE BUT ARE A HAZARD FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS IS NOW A SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.
