FACTORY LIGHT BEAMS WHERE DANGEROUSLY LOW. VISIBILITY WAS CLOSE TO NONE, OFTEN HAD TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS THE LIGHTBULB WHICH WAS REPLACED AND THIS DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE LIGHT COMPARTMENT IN ORDER TO FIX THE ISSUE. LOOKED UP ONLINE THAT MANY OTHER DRIVERS EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE DUE TO A THIN LAYER IN THE REFLECTOR COMPARTMENT THAT ONCE IT FADES, IT CAUSES THE LIGHT TO NOT REFLECT PROPERLY ONTO THE ROAD. THIS MANUFACTURER ERROR SHOULD BE LOOKED AT, AS THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD FOR DRIVERS.
CAR WOULD NOT STOP AS I WAS TRYING STOP FROM HITTING A VEHICLE THAT STOPPED I'M FRONT OF ME, DUE TO BRAKES LOCKING UP AND I TRIED TO SWERVE TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT FROM OCCURRING THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AS WELL.*DT*JB
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT IS TOO DIM. THERE IS NO LIGHT COMING PUT OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. I THOUGHT IT WAS WEAK BULB AND HAD IT REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM DIDNOT GO AWAY. WENT TO NISSAN DEALER WHO TOLD THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM IN ALTIMA AND NO RECALL HS BEEN ORDERED. THEY WERE NOT SURE OF SOLUTION BUT TOLD WHOLE CONSOLE CHNAGE MAY SOLVE THE ISSUE. RIGHT NOW I NEED TO PUT HIGH BEAMS ON AS ONLY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT GIVES RIGHT AMOUNT OF LIGHT. THE PASSENGER LIGHT IS ON BUT NOTHING CAN BE SEEN. THE HEADLIGHT PANEL IS CLEAN AND CLEAR BUT NO LIGHT COMES OUT.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ONE EVENING AND WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS AUTOMATICALLY CAME ON I NOTICED THEY WERE SIGNIFICANTLY DIMMER THEN NORMAL. I RODE ABOUT A WEEK OR SO WITH THE DIM HEADLIGHTS AND IT APPEARED THAT THEY WERE GRADUALLY GETTING DIMMER UNTIL ONE OF THE BULBS EVENTUALLY WENT OUT. I HAD BOTH BULBS REPLACED AND THE HEADLIGHTS REMAINED SEVERLY DIM. SO DIM THAT THERE IS NO LIGHT BEING EMITTED ONTO THE ROAD AND I HAVE TO USE HIGH BEAMS WHEN TRAVELING AFTER DARK.
I WAS PULLING INTO MY PARKING SPOT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. AS I REACHED THE PARKING SPOT, THE CAR ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO MY LIVING ROOM. MY FOOT NEVER TOUCHED THE GAS. THE ONLY WAY TO PARK IN SUCH A TIGHT SPOT IS TO HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS HAPPENED BUT WE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT.
FUEL PUMP STOP WORKING
I PARKED THE CAR WENT INTO A STORE LEFT THE CAR RUNNING. WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME, THE CVT TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. I KNOW THERE ARE NO GEARS IN CVT BUT I COULD ONLY GO 20 MPH ON THE ROAD AND HIGHWAY, VERY DANGEROUS. I MADE IT HOME, AND THE NEXT MORNING, THE TRANSMISSION WAS OK.
I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 70MPH ON A BUSY INTERSTATE WHEN I HEARD A LOUD SOUND, SIMILAR TO A SHOTGUN BLAST. I THEN IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO HEAR GLASS SHATTERING. IT WAS THEN THAT I REALIZED MY SUNROOF WAS LITERALLY SHATTERING INTO MILLIONS OF PIECES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE BATTERY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BUCKEYE NISSAN (3820 PARKWAY LN, HILLIARD, OH 43026, (614) 771-2345) WHERE THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND TRANSMISSION WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY PERFORMED UPDATES TO THE NEW TRANSMISSION AND ASSURED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WOULD NOT RECUR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,300.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT-END OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED IT SEEMED AS THOUGH IT WAS A BEARINGS ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,500. *BF CONSUMER WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST 4K TO REPLACE NEW TRANSMISSION. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE POWER DOOR LOCKS OPERATED INDEPENDENTLY BY UNLOCKING AND LOCKING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL OR DRIVING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. AFTER THE FAILURE, THE DOOR OPENING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
MY LOW BEAMS HEADLIGHT ARE SO DIM THAT I CANNOT DRIVE SAFETY WITHOUT USE OF HIGH BEAMS LIGHT. OTHER DRIVER ARE NOT SAFE EITHER WHEN I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS, JUST IN ORDER FOR ME TO SEE AT NIGHT WHEN DRIVING. I REPLACED THE BULBS MORE THAN ONE TIME AND THERE IS STILL NO IMPROVEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLAMPS FAILED TO PROVIDE ENOUGH ILLUMINATION TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLAMP LENSES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT WARRANTY MILEAGE WAS EXCEEDED, THEREFORE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS' BRIGHTNESS HAS DEGRADED OVER TIME, SINCE CAR WAS NEW IN DECEMBER 2013. SUSPECT PROJECTORS HAVE DEGRADED.
REGULAR (LOW BEAM) HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM, DESPITE ME CLEANING THE EXTERIOR OF THE HEADLIGHTS AND REPLACING THE BULBS. YESTERDAY IN NORTH RALEIGH, NC, I RAN OVER A LOW CONCRETE DIVIDER SEPARATING THE MAIN TRAFFIC LANES AND A TURN LANE, BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE IT AT ALL. THE DIMNESS SEEMS TO BE PARTICULARLY BAD FOR PERIPHERAL LIGHTING (WHICH MAKES SENSE GIVING MY EXAMPLE ABOVE, CHANGING FROM ONE LANE TO ANOTHER, AND NOT SEEING THE CONCRETE DIVIDER AT ALL). FROM RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ONLINE, THIS PROBLEM SEEMS VERY COMMON AMONG 2013-2015 ALTIMA OWNERS - APPARENTLY THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY'S PROJECTION SYSTEM DEGRADES OR WEARS OUT.
THE REAR ARM RODS RUSTED OUT AND SNAPPED OFF WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY ROAD
THE VEHICLE STALLS WHEN PULLING FROM A STOP SIGN OR STOPLIGHT. THE VEHICLE RESTARTS WITHOUT ISSUE THEN WILL STALL AGAIN WHEN ENGAGING INTO GEAR. THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED ALSO WITH THE CAR TURNING COMPLETELY OFF. AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR RESTARTED WITHOUT ISSUE AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE OFF THE ROAD. AT A STOPLIGHT, IT STALLED AGAIN IN THE INTERSECTION. RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE SIMILAR TO MY COMPLAINT. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I DON'T THINK I WILL DRIVE IT AGAIN.
THE ECM MAHESH THE ENGINE LIGHT GO OFF EVERY MONTH!!
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BECAME EXTREMELY DIM OVER TIME. MY ALTIMA CURRENTLY REGISTERS 135,000 MILES. I DID NOT NOTICE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I DRIVE THE VEHICLE DAILY. HOWEVER MY WIFE, WHO DOES NOT DRIVE IT REGULARLY, HAS MENTIONED THE DIMNESS TO ME ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. INITIALLY I BELIEVED THE PROBLEM RESTED WITH THE BULBS; HOWEVER, REPLACING THOSE DID NOT IMPROVE LIGHT BRIGHTNESS. AFTER AN ONLINE SEARCH, IT APPEARS THAT THE PROBLEM MAY BE DUE TO HEAT INDUCED CLOUDING OF THE PROJECTOR LENS. NEITHER HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN COMPROMISED. I BELIEVE THAT SUCH EQUIPMENT IS DURABLE IN NATURE AND THAT, UNLESS DAMAGED, SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. FINALLY, I'VE NOTICED THAT TH PROBLEM IS SO SEVERE THAT LOW BEAM LIGHT FROM VEHICLES BEHIND ME CAST MORE LIGHT THAN MY OWN LOW BEAMS. INDEED I CAN EASILY SEE THE SHADOW OF MY VEHICLE WHICH IS CASTED FROM THE LOW BEAMS OF THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY PROBLEM FOR ME, OTHER DRIVERS, PEDESTRIANS, ETC. IT DESERVES THE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION OF THE NHTSA. THIS PROBLEM IS AN ISSUE AT NIGHT TIME, PARTICULARLY WHEN IN MOTION SINCE REACTION TIME MAY BE INSUFFICIENT TO AVERT AND ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT
I HAVE 2 OF THESE MODEL ALTIMA'S. BOTH SUFFER FROM THE SAME PROBLEM THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND IT'S HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT. VERY UNSAFE
The contact owns a 2014 NISSAN Altima. The contact stated that the airbag warning light was illuminated. The dealer was contacted and stated that the airbag harness under the driver’s seat had malfunctioned. The airbag and seat had not been replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under the warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
BOUGHT A USED 2014 ALTIMA FROM HENDRICK CHEVY IN MERRIAM KANSAS. TRANSMISSION FAILED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND DID NOT GIVE ANY INDICATION VIA CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR FAILURE CODES. ACCELERATION WAS SEVERELY DELAYED FROM A STOP NEARLY CAUSING ME TO WRECK WHEN THROTTLE REAPONSE AND ACCELERATION WAS NEAR ZERO.
IT'S A ROAD HAZARD YOU CAN NOT SEE AT NIGHT DUE TO THE LOW CAPACITY OF LIGHTING ON THE VEHICLE. THE LOW BEAM IS NOT ACTIVE DRIVING WITH A HIGH BEAM ON THE SHINES AS IF YOU HAD THE LOW BEAM ON. ON A VEHICLE AND HAVING TO CALL FOR A RIDE AT NIGHT. THE LIGHTING SYSTEM CLEARLY HAS SOME MALFUNCTIONING. NISSAN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM IT NOT THE BULBS IT IS ACTUALLY THE HEAD LAMPS
I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. ONE MORNING AFTER HAVING DROVE ABOUT 15 MILES ON THE CITY STREET, TURNING MY CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES, MY CAR STARTED SHUTTING OFF WHEN PUT IN DRIVE. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED. MY MECHANIC CALLED NISSAN AND GAVE THEM THE FAILURE CODE. HE WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE TORQUE CONVERTER. IT WAS LOCKED AND SO THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I'VE BEEN READING UP ON THIS AND OTHER COMPLAINTS. NISSAN ISSUED A RECALL ON THE CVT REPROGRAMMING, BUT I THINK THEY KNOW THAT THERE IS MORE WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS THEY INSTALLED THESE CARS THAN THAT. REPROGRAMMING THE CVT IS SIMPLE FOR THEM, IT'S JUST A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. NOW I'M FINDING OUT THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS FAILING (LOCKING UP) ON THOUSANDS OF CARS. I FEEL NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THESE REPAIRS.
THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE COMPLAINT, PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT DOES NOT GO OFF AFTER 7 SECONDS WHEN CAR STARTED SUPPOSEDLY NO RECALL !!!! SAFETY HAZARD.

MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE I WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART MY VEHICLE AND MOVE IT . IT WOULD START BUT WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT FROM PARK IT WOULD STALL AGAIN. I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED WHEN TAKEN TO THE SHOP NOTHING APPEARED WHEN SCANNED AND DAYS LATER THE CAR BEGAN TO MOVE AGAIN
TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SHUTTERING DURING DRIVING AND IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSAN AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO COVER THE COST OF WHAT THEY CAUSED
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING THAT IS MORE THAN 100 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN CAUSE AN INCIDENT ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY GOING FASTER SPEEDS AND NON ILLUMINATED AREAS WHERE YOU NEED TO SEE FURTHER AHEAD. THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ARE PERFECTLY FINE, BUT WHEN USING MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS, IT'S ALMOST LIKE THEY ARE NOT EVEN TURNED ON.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2014 ALTIMA ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. AT NIGHT THEY PROVIDE EFFECTIVELY NO LIGHTING. TO SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, I MUST USE MY BRIGHTS WHICH THEN MAKES ME A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE VISIBILITY OF OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. I HAVE REPLACED THE LIGHT BULBS AND ALSO UPGRADED TO LED BULBS WITH LITTLE TO NO IMPROVEMENT. THIS ISSUE IS RELEVANT ON CITY STREETS, HIGHWAYS, OR COUNTRY ROADS, FROM DUSK UNTIL DAWN. WHILE DRIVING IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE PEDESTRIANS AND EXTRA CAUTION IS REQUIRED AS A DRIVER TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF PEOPLE AROUND ME AS WELL AS MYSELF.
THE CAR STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPEN ON MORE THAT 4 TIMES BEFORE IT COMPLETELY STOPPED DRIVING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, WHERE IS WAS DIAGNOSED TO FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 81K MILES ON IT. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA STARTED LOSING POWER AND STALLING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAYS BACK IN MAY 2019 WITH NO INDICATION WHY AS THERE WAS NO 'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' AND IT WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WHATEVER THEY TOLD ME TO REPAIR I DID. IT CONTINUED SPORADICALLY STALLING (LOSING POWER DOWN TO UNDER 30MPH)IN JUNE, JULY,AUGUST & NOW SEPTEMBER-DURING THIS TIME WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY, CHANGE THE FILTERS, FINALLY TUNING UP THE CAR LAST WEEK WEDNESDAY! DIDN'T DRIVE IT THURSDAY-MONDAY NOW THIS MORNING TUESDAY IT STALLED AND START LOSING POWER AGAIN! STILL NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND NOW AFTER TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALER THIS MORNING I WAS JUST CALLED BY CONICELLI SERVICE REP TELLING ME THE TRANSMISSION IS GONE!!! AT 125000 - 5YRS OLD ! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE THIS IS OUR 8TH NISSAN AND ALL THE PREVIOUS ONES LAST UP TO 27700 MILES AND NEVER REPLACED A TRANSMISSION!! THIS IS DEFINITELY A LEMON AND NISSAN USA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING! REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION OR BUY IT BACK!!
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROJECT LIGHT ONTO THE ROAD MAKING A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD FOR DRIVERS. THE MIRROR REFLECTORS INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ARE BURNED AND CORRODED MAKING THE LOW BEAM LIGHT INEFFECTIVE. FROM THE DRIVER SEAT YOU CANNOT SEE ANY LIGHT ON THE ROADWAY, AND HAVE TO USE THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS JUST TO SEE WHAT IS IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IT IS REALLY EVIDENT ON ROADWAYS WITH NO STREET LIGHTS AS IT FEELS LIKE DRIVING WITH THE LIGHTS OFF ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TRIED NEW BULBS, HIGHER INTENSITY BULBS, AND LEDS WITH NO SUCCESS. MY ONLY OPTION IS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AT A SUBSTANTIAL EXPENSE ON A VEHICLE WHICH IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA MY TRUCK OPENED AND AS I PROCEEDED TO SHUT MY TRUNK IT WOULD NOT SHUT. I NOTICED THAT THE TRUNK LATCH WAS STUCK I TRUED TO USE A SCREW DRIVER STILL NO SUCCESS THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA HAVE DETERIORATED TO A POINT WHERE THE LIGHT DOES NOT PROJECT OUT ONTO OTHER CARS ON THE ROADWAY AND TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES CANNOT BE SEEN RESULTING IN COLLISION WITH CURB TYPE MEDIAN TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE WHILE MOVING TO TURN DUE TO INADEQUATE ILLUMINATION OF ROADWAY SURFACES.
FIRST, THE CVT BLEW ON A 70MPH HIGHWAY. GOT THAT FIXED, NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND MENTOR NISSAN HELPED. NNA PAID 70% OF A TRANSMISSION. THEY ARE ALSO REIMBURSING ME FOR TOWING. THEN, I HAVE VIDEO PROOF, THAT AFTER THE RECALL, THE OCS LIGHT IS ON WHILE I HAVE PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. LASTLY, REAR SUSPENSION ARM RUSTING OUT (PHOTO PROOF). THIS CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE! THE WHOLE CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED!
THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE SO LOW THAT I HAVE HAD 2 NEAR ACCIDENTS. IT IS UNSAFE IN AREAS WHERE THERE IS NO LIGHTING. I WANTED THIS TO BE ON RECORD IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS. MY RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM THAT THE NHTSA IS IGNORING. MY HUSBAND AND MY SON DRIVE THE VEHICLES AT NIGHT AND I AM VERY AFRAID FOR THEM. THE COST TO REPLACE THE PART IS OVER $1000 WHICH IS UNFAIR SINCE THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE PRODUCT. WHY WAIT UNTIL SOME HAS A FATAL CRASH OR WORSE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE?
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
CVT TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS, SLIPS AND SHUTS DOWN THE ENGINE WHEN STOPPING. DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED AT DEALERSHIP AND RESULTED IN BAD TRANSMISSION. ALSO PASSENGER AIRBAG DEACTIVATES INTERMITTENTLY EVEN WHILE SOMEONE IS SITTING
WHILE ON A 70MPH HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE STARTED SPUTTERING AND WOULD NOT RETAIN SPEED. I KEPT MY FOOT ON THE GAS, AND IT WAS LOSING SPEED AT AN ALARMING RATE. I WAS NOW GOING 35 ON A 70MPH ROAD. I PULLED TO THE BERM, WITH MY HAZARDS ON, AND TRIED TO REGAIN NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FOUND A SAFE SPOT TO PARK, HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED (USAA INSURANCE) TO A MECHANIC. MECHANIC COULD NOT REGISTER CODE, HE TOWED IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC. CVT TRANSMISSION WENT. KNOWN PROBLEM WITH ALTIMA'S. NISSAN KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MY HOME STATE ($500, NO RECEIPT, AS IT IS NOT HERE YET). NEED TO TAKE IT TO AN AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALER AND PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET(37-3900, NO RECEIPT, CAN NOT AFFORD IT). HAD TO RENT A CAR TO GET HOME ($300, MY SISTER RENTED IT). I HAD CHILDREN IN THE CAR, READY FOR VACATION, AND THEY WERE SCARED WE WERE GOING TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES. SO FAR, I AM OUT OF POCKET 571.62, NOT TO MENTION THE ALMOST 4 THOUSAND DOLLARS I AM FACING.
OUR 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING UR 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA ABOUT A 1/4 MILE FROM OUR HOME. HE HIT A BUMP AND IMMEDIATELY FELT THE STEERING PULL. HE GOT HOME AND WE LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND SAW THAT THE REAR CONTROL ARM WAS RUSTED THRU AND HAD BROKEN. THANKFULLY HE WAS NOT ON THE INTERSTATE OR GOING FASTER WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR ABOUT A MILE FROM OUR HOME (GOING ABOUT 20 MPH) WHEN HIT HIT A BUMP AND THE BACK AXEL BROKE. FORTUNATELY HE WAS CLOSE TO HOME WHEN THIS HAPPENED. HAD HE BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE, HE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. MY HUSBAND CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH NISSAN ALTIMAS FROM THIS YEAR BUT THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT ON THE LIST OF VINS THAT QUALIFY FOR REIMBURSEMENT. WE REPAIRED THE VEHICLE WHICH COST ABOUT $400 IN LABOR AND $225.49 IN NISSAN PARTS. THE VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 80,000 MILES AT THE TIME. THIS SEEMS LIKE A CLEAR CASE OF FAULTY PARTS.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. EVEN WITH BRIGHTS, THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY ADEQUATE TO SEE.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE LIGHT HOUSING AND NOT THE BULB. THE REFLECTIVE MATERIAL IN THE LIGHT HOUSING IS BREAKING DOWN AND NOT REFLECTING THE LIGHT ANY LONGER. HARD TO SEE WITHOUT USING HIGH BEAMS.
LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE THE ROAD. VISIBILITY IS LOW AND DANGEROUS. THE LIGHTS WORKED FINE WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. ONCOMING CARS ARE FLASHING LIGHTS AT ME WHILE DRIVING THINKING I DO NOT HAVE MY LIGHTS TURNED ON. THIS PROBLEM COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF ADDRESSED ASAP.
