THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN OF VACAVILLE SERVICE CENTER (671 ORANGE DR, VACAVILLE, CA 95687, (707) 392-4649) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY TO BE REPLACED. Passenger airbag light is always on. Nissan dealership said it is something with the sensor. Not covered under warranty. This should be recalled! I didn't do anything to make this mechanism screw up...
MY CAR IS JERKING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN GEARS. VERY SCARY. THIS IS HAPPENING IN MOTION WHEN I WAS GOING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR GOING ABOUT 30-50 MILES. RPM'S REVVING UP AND DOWN. THE CAR IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND HAS BEEN REGULARLY SERVICED AND OIL CHANGED, SO I EXPECTED IT TO BE GREAT FOR A LONGER TIME.

TRANSMISSION FAILED!
THE GAS PEDAL WILL NOT PUSH DOWN IT IS LIKE SOMETHING IS UNDER THE GAS PEDAL WHEN THERE ISN'T ANYTHING AND THEN WHEN IT DOES IT PUSH DOWN IT IS LIKE U FLOOR BOARD IT. AND SOMETIMES IT CAUSES IT NOT TO CHANGE GEARS LIKE IT IS NOT READING THE CONNECTION FROM GAS PEDAL TO THE SYSTEM THAT IT NEEDS TO GIVE IT FUEL AND THEN IT TRIES TO DIE AT TIMES WHEN U DO GET IT TO KICK IN. THIS IS WHEN I STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AND IT DOES IT MORE WHEN IT HAS BEEN SETTING RUNNING FOR A BIT IN ONE SPOT. IT HAS HAPPENED LIKE SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS
01/01/20 RECALL RECEIVED 07/03/20 FROM NISSAN FOR HOOD LATCH, R20A7. NO CAR LIFT. RISK RANK: COLLISION. I CALLED TWO NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THEY SAY THERE IS NO REMEDY. CAR IS MY ONLY SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION AND NISSAN CORPORATE WILL NOT ANSWER PHONE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR. MR. ZACH MCQUAIG, PEARSON NISSAN IN OCALA, SAID THERE IS NO REMEDY AND HE COULD CARE LESS (THAT WAS HIS ATTITUDE). WHAT CAN I DO?
AT FIRST MY ENGINE WOULD LOOSE POWER AND I WOULD COME TO A STOP, AND THEN TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND ON, BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD STAY ON. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER ON 7/19/20 AND THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE CVT TRANSMISSION OR THE BODY VALVE. BUT THEY TOLD ME HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST, SO I DECIDED NOT TO GET THE JOB DONE. BUT NOW ME CAR WILL NOT DRIVE WHEN I PUT IT INTO GEAR. SINCE I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE SHOP UNDER THE 84000 MILE WARRANTY I BELIEVED IT SHOULD BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE TO ME. NISSAN SOLD ME A VEHICLE WITH A FAULTY TRANSMISSION IT SHOULD BE MADE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. MY VEHICLE HAS 100766 MILES NOW SO THE DEALER REFUSES TO FIX IT FREE OF CHARGE TO ME

2016 NISSAN ALTIMA-MY PROBLEM IS THIS: IT RUNS GREAT WHEN I CAN GET IT TO RUN.THEN AFTER SITTING FOR A LITTLE BIT, I GO OUT AND PUSH THE BUTTON-ITS COMPLETELY DEAD! I GIVE IT A JUMP THINKING MAYBE ITS THE BATTERY-NOPE-STILL DEAD. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP-THEY HAD IT FOR A WEEK NO PROBLEM-THE VERY NEXT DAY IT WAS DEAD!!THERES NOTHING-NO CLICKING OR ANYTHING.I AM HEADING BACK TO DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO.IT HAPPENED TO ME ONCE AT THE GAS STATION BUT LUCKILY IT WORKED WHEN I GAVE IT A JUMP.I WAS JUST CURIOUS TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THIS PROBLEM. The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where the transmission was replaced. However, the failure reoccurred two years later. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the RPM revved up however, the vehicle lost motive power and started jerking while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that upon depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle remained stuck in first gear. The contact was able to drive to her residence at a slower speed while still experiencing the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer who informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under warranty due to the mileage. The contact referenced Nissan Technical Service Number: 15-084A. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and the RPM’s revved up and the vehicle started shuddering. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated upon restarting the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was depressed and went all the way to the floorboard; however, the vehicle failed to respond. THE CAR IS REVVING RPM'S BETWEEN 1500-3500 WHILE DRIVING A NORMAL SPEED OR ON CRUISE CONTROL ON A FLAT HIGHWAY. UPON TAKE OFF, THE CAR IS SLOW TO ENGAGE. CAR IS ALSO REVVING THE ENGINE, LIKE HITTING THE GAS WHILE IN NEUTRAL, EVEN THOUGH CAR IS IN MOTION. CAR HAS LESS THAN 53,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. ISSUES ARE WORSE ON A HIGHWAY SETTING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON OFF AND ON FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS, BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE THIS PAST WEEK. MEETING WITH THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP NEXT WEEK FOR WHAT COULD BE A COSTLY ASSESSMENT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING TOWARDS THE END OF THE TRIP 250 MILES, WAS CRUISING ABOUT 15 MPH, CAR WAS NO LONGER RESPONDING TO ACCELERATION, ENGINE MAKING LOUD NOISE AS IF STRUGGLING AND RPM INCREASED ABOUT 5000, I DROVE LIKE THIS FOR ABOUT 2 MILES, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. NEXT DAY CAR DROVE FINE. HAD TWO SIMILAR EPISODES IN THE FOLLOWING MONTHS WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, CAR WITH SUDDENLY SLOW DOWN AND NOT RESPONDING TO ACCELERATION, RPM INCREASED 5-6K, THESE LASTED LESS THAN A MINUTE AND THEN DROVE NORMAL AGAIN.LAST WEEK HAD A MAJOR EPISODE, WHILE IN TRAFFIC AT 40 MILES AN HOUR, WAS NOT ACCELERATING AGAIN AND SPEED STUCK AT 40 MPH. AND RPMS INCREASED TO ABOUT 5 TO 6000, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, ENGINE SOUND AS IF STRUGGLING. CAR IS NOW JERKING WHEN REVERSING, ONLY HAS 44,800 MILES. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND THEY ARE SEVERAL VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE WITH SIMILAR MODEL ALTIMA EXPERIENCING SIMILAR PROBLEMS, MOST PEOPLE THINK IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION THAT IS FAULTY AND OVERHEATING.
WHEN VEHICLE IS IDLE OR AT LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, WHILE USING CELL PHONE USB CORD AND A/C ON, THE VEHICLE HAS A DELAYED RESPONSE TIME WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO REGISTER THAT I'M PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR BEFORE MOVING. *TR
MY CAR BATTERY WAS LOSE AND I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR SHUT OFF IN TRAFFIC. I WENT AND POPPED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY WAS LOSE AND I MOVED IT IN PLACE AND THE CAR TURNED ON. UPON ME BEING IN A RUSH TO GET TRAFFIC GOING AGAIN THE HOOD LATCH DIDN'T WORK, AND WHEN. I WENT ON THE HIGHWAY THE HOOD WENT UP TO MY WINDSHIELD AND DAMAGED MY HOOD, CORNER PANELS, SMASHED MY FRONT WINDSHIELD, AND I HAVEN'T FIXED THE HOOD BECAUSE IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE. HELLO AT MAY 28 I SAW THAT OPENED NEW RECALL ON MY NISSAN. AT NOWADAYS DEALER DOESNT KNOW HOW CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM AND SAID THAT DON'T HAVE REMEDY TO FIX THE CAR. I HAVE TWO NISSAN ALTIMA 2016 AND 2017 I WANT TO SELL A BOTH BECAUSE AT TODAY PASSED AROUND 2 MONTH FROM OPENED RECALL AND NOBODY KNOWS ANY DECISION HOW TO FIX MY CARS. SO I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF WAIT ABOUT 20 SECONDS AND TURN IT BACK ON.
LAST SUMMER I HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE BUTTERFLY VALVE ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. IT WAS A SATURDAY, I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND THE ONLY PLACE THAT WAS OPEN AND THE CLOSEST WAS THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I TOOK IT IN THERE THEY FIXED IT, BUT THE REPAIRS WERE OVER 1 GRAND. I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY LYING AROUND SO I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATE TO ASK IF I CAN HAVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. THEY SAID BECAUSE I DON'T SERVICE MY CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY CAN NOT FINANCE ME AND HELP ME WITH IT. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IS OUT OF MY WAY TO GET IT SERVICED. SECOND ISSUE STARTED RECENTLY AND THAT IS WHEN I AM DRIVING MY CAR THERE IS NOT VERY GOOD ACCELERATION AND ONCE I HIT 20 MPH I START TO HEAR A WHINING NOISE. I DID SOME DIGGING IN SEVERAL ONLINE FORUMS AND THOSE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES HAVE BEEN TOLD ITS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. LAST WEEK I BARLEY WENT OVER 73,000 MILES ON MY ODOMETER. I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE TRANSMISSION, NOR DO I REALLY CARE TO. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN AS LONG AS I LIVE. THERE COOPERATE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS AS WELL AS THERE CVT TRANSMISSIONS!!
I HAVE A NISSAN ALTIMA, VIN#[XXX]-WHILE DRIVING THROUGH MY NEIGHBORHOOD-ALL 4 WINDOWS DOWN, MY ELDERLY MOTHER WAS IN THE BACK SEAT TAKING PICTURES OUT THE WINDOW WHILE OPEN AND THE DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF WHILE GOING AROUND CURVE AND FELL OUT. DELAYED RESPONSE IN ACCELERATION. ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT ONTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. AFTER DRIVING OVER 30 MINUTES AT THE FIRST STOP LIGHT IT ALWAYS TAKES 3 SECONDS EXTRA TO ACCELERATE. I AM PRESSING ACCELERATOR AND NO RPM NOR THE CAR MOVES. UNTIL IT KICKS IN AND FINALLY SHOTS FORWARD. LOTS OF PEOPLE ON INTERNET HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH SIMILAR YEAR NISSANS . FUEL SENSOR IS NOT SHOWING FUEL LEVEL PROPERLY MOST OF THE TIME WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, IF YOU ARE ON THE HIGHWAY OR FREEWAY THE FUEL SHOWS FULL TANK OR CLOSE TO THE FULL TANK BUT ANY TIME YOUR CAR STOPS IN MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE YOU RAN OUT OF FUEL AND YOU DON'T KNOW THE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL IN YOUR VEHICLE. IF THE CAR STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY THEN IT MAY CAUSE AN SERIOUS ACCIDENTS OR CRASH.

AFTER STOPPING AND GOING A DECENT AMOUNT (SUCH AS A DRIVE THRU) THE CAR HAS A DELAY OF SHIFTING GEARS AND STARTING TO MOVE AFTER COMPLETELY STOPPED. I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. THE RPMS WILL GO SIGNIFICANTLY UP BEFORE INCREASING SPEED. IT WILL DO THIS ON SLOW OR FAST ROADS.
Starting at around 80k miles I noticed a bit of jerking and stalling while driving with no warning indicator and got it checked out 2 times and was told it was a battery issue and bought a new battery. After the battery replacement I noticed it was still continuing but I was not getting the transmission issue on the reader until one day I was completely stalled in traffic with my newborn baby and tried to floor the accelerator but was slowly moving that it triggered the check engine light and finally the transmission error came up on the reader. Nissan is fully aware of the ongoing issues with the CVT transmission and will not extend the warranty to cover their defective CVTs. The transmission has been replaced by my own extended warranty at the Nissan dealership but I am still experiencing the same jerking and slight stall when I accelerate.

AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN STOP & GO TRAFFIC, THERE CAN BE NO RESPONSE WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. I CAN BE STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THEN PRESS THE GAS, AND NOTHING HAPPENS, UNTIL SUDDENLY IT WILL ENGAGE AND LURCH FORWARD. I WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE RELAY SWITCH. THEY REPAIRED IT UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD BE THEY 'REBOOTED THE SOFTWARE', BUT AGAIN, THE CAR STILL HAS THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE TO THEY COULD DO UNLESS THERE WAS A "CODE" TO READ, BUT SINCE THE PROBLEM IS RANDOM AND INTERMITTENT, THERE IS NO CODE. I FEEL THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN STOPPED, WAITING ON A LEFT TURN, THEN TRY TO PROCEED, AND THE CAR DOESN'T MOVE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS,THEN HAVE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT. THANK YOU. *TR

VERY STIFF STEERING AT LOW SPEED (15-20 MILES/H) WHEN EFFECTING A RIGHT OR LEFT HAND TURN SUCH AS LANE CHANGE, ALMOST FREEZING FOR 1 TO 2 SECONDS. ALMOST GOT IN A COLLISION, WHEN TRYING TO SWITCH LANES, BECAUSE OF LACK OF RESPONSIVENESS OF STEERING WHEEL. HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY , WITH NO WARNING. DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE REASON FOR THIS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR A SECOND OPINION AT ANOTHER DEALER HOWEVER, IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED OR MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
SHAKING, AUTOMATIC SLOWING SPEED, PICK UP TAKES TIME, ENGINE LIGHT ON DEALER SAID TRANSMISSION ISSUE COST 4850 PLUS TAX. THIS IS NISSAN ALTIMA 2016 ONLY 71000. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY KILLING CONSUMER FINANCE. NEVER EVER NISSAN AGAIN.
