DRIVING ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS OF 60 MPH WITH GAUGE READING HALF TANK OF FUEL. CAR SUDDENLY STARTED LOOSING ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I PULLED OVER AS QUICKLY AND SAFELY AND SHUT OFF CAR. CAR WOULD NO LONGER START. MY CHILDREN WERE PANICKING AS THIS IS OUR MAIN SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION AND WE COULD BARELY GET OFF THE ROAD SINCE WE HAD ZERO NOTICE OR WARNING OF ANYTHING HAPPENING AND ACCORDING TO THE GAUGE, I HAD PLENTY OF FUEL. WE HAD TO BE TOWED HOME AFTER WAITING FOR 3 HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK. AFTER MANY SEARCHES OF WHAT COULD BE, I SAW FAULTY GAS GAUGES ARE A COMMON ISSUE. SO I ADDED A COUPLE GALLONS OF GAS AND MY CAR FIRED RIGHT UP.
NISSAN ARMADA AIR FILTER HOUSING RECALL... OVER THE PASS COUPLE OF YEARS, I'VE NOTICE THAT OUR TRUCK WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. WE'D START IT BACK UP, AND CONTINUE DRIVING AND IT WOULD SHUT OFF AGAIN. AFTER CHECKING THE AIR FILTER UNDER THE HOOD, I DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS DIRTY. SO, I REPLACED THE FILTER AND IT WOULD BE GOOD. HOWEVER, AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS OF DRIVING IT WILL REPEAT THE SAME THING OF JUST SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. RECENTLY, IT HAS BEEN SHUTTING DOWN MORE OFTEN. SO, AFTER SOME LOOKING UNDERNEATH THE HOOD, I WENT BACK TO THE AIR FILTER HOUSING BOX AND DISCOVERED THAT THE AIR FILTER HOUSING BOX DOES NOT SEAL PROPERLY. AS A RESULT OF THE AIR FILTER HOUSING NOT SEALING PROPERLY, AIR SEEPS IN THROWING OFF THE AIR TO GAS RATIO MIXTURE AND IT SHUTS DOWN THE ENGINE, TURNING OFF THE CAR IN THE MIDST OF DRIVING. I REPORTED THIS TOO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY CLEANED THE AIR FILTER BOX AND SAID THAT SHOULD FIX IT. HOWEVER, AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, MY TRUCK LITERALLY SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING FIVE (5) TIMES. I THEN WENT BACK UNDER THE HOOD OF THE TRUCK, READJUSTED THE AIR FILTER HOUSING IN AN ATTEMPT TO SEAL IT TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY AND MY TRUCK DID NOT SHUT DOWN AT ALL. THIS IS DEFINITELY AN ISSUE THAT I BELIEVE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT. I'VE TALKED TO OTHER NISSAN OWNERS THEY HAVE REPORTED THE SAME THING. I SINCERELY HOPE THAT SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS REAL SOON IN THE PICTURE THAT I HAVE ATTACHED TO THIS FILE, YOU CAN SEE THE ORANGE PIECE FROM THE FILTER THAT IS STICKING OUT FROM THE HOUSING. AGAIN, THROUGH DRIVING AND HITTING BUMPS IN THE ROAD, THE HOUSING SEPARATES AND ALLOW MORE AIR TO SEEP INTO HOUSING AND THE TRUCK SHUTS OFF. AGAIN, ONCE THE HOUSING IS FIXED IN PLACE AGAIN, THE TRUCK IS DRIVABLE UNTIL THE HOUSING SEPARATES AGAIN. *TR
MY FUEL GAUGE SHOWED 1/4 TANK OF GAS AND I RAN OUT OF FUEL ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND STALLED OUT. I WAS IN FEAR FOR MY FAMILIES LIFE AND HAD MY WIFE STEER THE CAR WHILE I PUSHED IT OVER TO THE SHOULDER. A PASSER BYE IN A PICK UP HAD A CAN OF GAS AND IT WAS ENOUGH TO GET ME TO A GAS STATION. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE 2005 ARMADA FOR THE FUEL SENDING SENSOR BUT NOT ON THE 2004. THIS IS APPARENTLY A LOT OF 2004 ARMADAS THAT HAVE THIS SAFETY MALFUNCTION.
FUEL GAUGE STOPS AT 1/4. VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS ON FREEWAY AND ENGINE STALLED.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEM WITH 2004 NISSAN ARMADA' FUEL GAUGE, SIMILAR TO A RECALL. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEN NISSAN MOTOR USA. THEY SAID SINCE MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL AT THIS TIME I HAVE TO PAY $99 FOR THE DIAGNOSIS, AND THEN SEND REPORT TO NISSAN MOTORS FOR CONSIDERATION. THEY ARE REFUSING TO ADD MY VIN FOR THIS RECALL, AND TO HAVE THE DEALER CHECK FREE OF CHARGE AND FIX IF ISSUE IS SAME AS THE RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGES FAILED TO DETECT THE PROPER LEVELS OF FUEL IN THE TANK ONCE IT WENT UNDER A QUARTER TANK OF FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 113,595.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LOW ON FUEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS INOPERABLE AND THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 205,000.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 148,000.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY START THE VEHICLE AFTER ADDING MORE FUEL TO THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, THE ENTIRE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND THE VEHICLE HAD TO COAST ACCROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC AT A SPEED OF 40 MILES PER HOUR. THERE WERE FOU PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE, TWO ADULTS AND TWO CHILDREN WHO WERE ALL EXTREMELY FRIGHTENED BY THE EXPERIENCE. AT LEAST ONE VEHICLE TRAVELING BEHIND OURS HAD TO COME TO A FAST HAULT JUST BARELY MISSING THE REAR END OF THE TRUCK. I HD THE VEHICLE TOWED BY AAA BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START OR CRACK UP. AFTER LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITH MY PRIVATE MECHANIC FOR ONE DAY HE DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I THEN CALLED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TO EXPLAIN THE ISSUE AND TO SEE IF A RECALL HAD BEEN DONE IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE I WAS TOLD "NO" AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED BECAUSE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS UP. I THEN ASKED IF THE VEHICLE HAD ANY RECENT RECALLS AND WAS TOLD NO. AFTER SPEAKING WITHMY MECHANIC AGAIN, HE TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL BUT IT WAS VOLUNTARY BY THE DEALER AND ONLY FOR NISSAN ARMADA MODELS 2005-2008, MY VEHICLE IS A 2004 BUT HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND COULD HAVE KILLED MY FAMILY.
MY ARMADA SHOWED THAT THERE WAS FUEL IN THE TANK. THE GAUGE ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE TRIP COMPUTER BOTH SHOWED THERE WAS A TANK OF GAS IN THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HAD RAN OUT OF GAS. THE FUEL SENDING UNIT IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS BAD IN THE ARMADA AND IF I WERE LUCKY MY VEHICLE MAY BE PART OF THE RECALL. MY ARMADA IS A 2004, RECALLS WERE DONE FOR THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON 2005 MODELS AND ABOVE. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO RECALL THE 2004 MODEL. SAFETY ISSUE FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY. I AM REQUESTING THAT THE 2004 MODEL ARMADA BE ADDED TO SAFETY RECALL NTB10037. THIS FAULT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO RAN OUT OF FUEL WHILE THE GAUGE STILL SHOWS UP TO A QUARTER TANK REMAINING. LOSS OF POWER AND CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHICH MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS. *TR
I ATTEMPTED TO PLACE FUEL IN MY 2004 NISSAN ARMADA AND WAS DRENCHED WITH GASOLINE THAT BACKED UP OUT THE OPENING WHERE THE GAS HOSE WAS INSERTED. THIS WAS UNEXPECTED AND I SMELLED OF GASOLINE ALL DAY.IT WAS ON MY SKIN AND CLOTHING.THIS WAS DANGEROUS AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT LONG TERM EFFECTS ON MY HEALTH. MY GAS TANK WAS NOT FULL AS IT WAS 1/4 FULL WHEN I TRIED TO OBTAIN GAS. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO GET 20.00 DOLLARS WORTH OF GAS AND THE GAS BACKED UP AND SPILLED ON ME. I HEARD A CLICK AS IF THE TANK WAS FULL ,HOWEVER IT WAS NOT FULL. I ALSO HEAR A HISSING SOUND WHEN I OPEN THE GAS CAP. *TR

OUR 2004 NISSAN ARMADA LE HAS ALWAYS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL GAUGE NOT READING CORRECTLY. EVEN AFTER FILLING UP, IT NEVER READS FULL, OR EVEN WHEN LESS THAN 1/4 TANK, THE FUEL GAUGE WILL READ AT HALF OR MORE. THEN IT WILL DRASTICALLY DROP FROM THE 1/2 TANK MARKER DOWN TO EMPTY. NISSAN HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE FUEL SENDING UNIT BUT HAVE OMITTED THE 2004-2005 NISSAN ARMADAS EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM WITH THIS FUEL SENDING UNIT HAS BEEN NOTORIOUS FOR THESE MODELS. NISSAN AND ITS AFFILIATE SERVICE DEPTS ARE REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM KNOWINGLY IT EXISTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE VENT CONTROL VALVE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT A PROTECTOR VALVE BE INSTALLED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN; HOWEVER, REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 51,788. UPDATED 11/20/07 *TR
CONTINUOUS BRAKE SHUDDER VIBRATES THRU STEERING WHEEL. SEATS SQUEEK. FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T MOVE TO THE FULL MARK WHEN FUEL NOZZLE SHUTS OFF. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME FOR THE BRAKE PROBLEM AND THE THIRD TIME FOR THE FUEL GAUGE. THEY REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACE THE ROTORS AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY ALL THESE PROBLEMS IN LESS THAN A YEAR FOR MY 2004 ARMADA. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN ANY RECALLS I SEE ALL THESE COMPLAINTS AND I'VE COMPLAINED MANY TIMES. I THINK WE SHOULD BE REFUNDED OUR MONEY ON THE VEHICLES OR GET A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE 22,000 MILES. AND I'M STILL WAITING FOR THESE SO CALLED REPAIR KITS THAT THERE SUPPOSE TO HAVE ITS BEEN MONTHS. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSE TO DO WHEN OUR WARRENTY RUNS OUT!!!
