TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHENEVER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. THE CONTACT EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE ROTORS HAD GROOVES IMPRINTED ON THEM FROM THE BRAKE PADS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,575 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500. UPDATED 6/9/08 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE ROTORS AND BRAKES CONTINUE TO GO BAD. UPDATED 06/09/08
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND AN ABNORMAL GRINDING AND PULSATION WAS EXHIBITED BY THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO PROPERLY DECELERATE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE CONSTANT FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
I ROUNDED A CORNER AT ABOUT 35 MPH (PULLING A TRAILER) AND MY ANTILOCK BRAKES SYSTEM WENT HAYWIRE. THE BRAKES WERE PULSING MADLY, AND THE TRUCK SLOWED SLIGHTLY. I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I COULD NOT STOP THE TRUCK!! LUCKILY, NOBODY WAS ON THE STREET AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF WHILE STILL MOVING ABOUT 25 MPH AND RESTART THE ENGINE AT WHICH TIME THE SYSTEM RESET ITSELF. UPON GOING TO THE NISSAN DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE VCD SYSTEM (BRAKE ACTUATOR) NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND THAT THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM FROM NISSAN. I'M APPALLED THAT THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHERE THE DRIVER CANNOT CONTROL THE BRAKES OR STOP THE VEHICLE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, YET THERE IS NO RECALL, OR ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY OWNERS... SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT AS A RESULT OF THIS. NOT TO MENTION THAT NISSAN MADE ME PAY $170.00 TO REPROGRAM THIS FAULTY CRITICAL COMPONENT... OWNERS NEED TO BE MADE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT. *TR
WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS WITH THE NISSAN ARMADA SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE NEW. BASICALLY, THE BRAKES FAIL ON THE CAR AND IT BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IT BECOMES UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE ARMADA AND TITAN AND NISSAN CONTINUES TO DENY THE PROBLEM. MY WIFE NEARLY HAD 2 ACCIDENTS DURING THE INCIDENTS. THE DEALER STATES TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF RESETS IT BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO DETERMINE WHEN IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED WITH A RECALL BY NISSAN.
I WAS DRIVING MY NISSAN 05 ARMADA DOWN THE ROAD GOING APP. 40 AN HOUR WHEN THE LEFT SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED THEN THE NEXT SIDE 4 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. *TR
HAD A NEAR MISS VEHICLE ACCIDENT DUE TO THE VDC (VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL) MODULE/COMPUTER FAILURE AND CAUSED BRAKE SYSTEM TO MALFUNCTION AND NOT STOP CAR. WHILE TRAVELING 30 MPH +/- IN A LEFT TURN LANE AND TRIED TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT. THE BRAKES DID NOT GRAB RIGHT, HAD A SEVERE METAL SQUEAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL SHUDDERED. THE CAR WENT THROUGH THE STOP LINE INTO THE INTERSECTION AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE ONE CAR COMING HEAD ON WAS ABLE TO STOP. THEY MADE AN EMERGENCY STOP. HAD TO TURN LEFT INTO THE PARKING LOT AND TO A CLEAR AREA IN THE LOT TO LET VEHICLE SLOW ON ITS OWN AND FINALLY STOP. VEHICLE BRAKE LAMP WAS LIT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. PUT VEHICLE INTO PARK AND LIGHT STAYED LIT. PUT VEHICLE BACK IN DRIVE AND TESTED BRAKES. THEY STILL WOULD NOT BRAKE CORRECTLY AND HAD THAT LOUD NOISE WITH A SHUDDER FELT ON THE PEDAL. CALLED THE DEALER WHERE CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR SAME COMPLAINT 2 TIMES. THEY ASKED IF I COULD DRIVE IT IN, I SAID NO AND HAD TO PAY FOR A TOW. WHEN CAR WAS AT DEALER AND RESTARTED BRAKE LIGHT WAS OFF AND NO PROBLEM WITH BRAKES. DEALER DID A CHECK OF CODES FROM ONBOARD COMPUTER. HAD A C-1179. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS COMPLAINT AND THE VDC FAILURE. THERE WAS A TSB FOR THIS CONDITION, IT HAD BEEN OUT FOR MORE THAN A YEAR. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR IN FOR A COMPLAINT OF SUDDEN BRAKE PEDAL SHUDDER AND SCREECH NOISE 2 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. NISSAN DEALER SAID IT WAS A BRAKE AND ROTOR PROBLEM AND HAD A TSB FOR THE REPLACEMENT. DEALER DID TSB WORK FOR A BRAKE JUDDER 2 TIMES. TOLD DEALER THIS WAS THE WORST TIME THIS HAPPENED. THAT PRIOR TIMES THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS GONE WHEN WE RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE BRAKE PROBLEM WAS GONE. BOUGHT CAR PRE-OWNED. CAR SHOWED A BRAKE ROTOR TSB WAS DONE. CURRENT DEALER PERFORMED 2 MORE BRAKE ROTOR TSB'S. I QUESTION WHETHER OTHER COMPLAINTS OF A BRAKE PEDAL SHUDDER VS JUDDER IS NOT A MILD FORM OF THE VDC FAILURE? THANKS TO THE OTHER DRIVER ON BEING ALERT AND MAKING THIS A NEAR MISS ACCIDENT AND NOT A FULL ON COLLISION. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE BRAKES GOT JAMMED I HAD SLOW DOWN AND STOP THE CAR WHEN I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTED THE CAR THE BRAKES WERE RELEASED AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF. I HAD REPORTED THIS TO NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID AFTER CHECKING THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY MALFUNCTIONS. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN, NOT ONLY WITH ME BUT ALSO WITH MY FRIED WHO HAS 2007 MODEL OF NISSAN ARMADA, HE WAS ALSO TOLD THE SAME THING, WE HAVE REPORTED THIS TO NISSAN DEALER VARIOUS TIMES. *TR
ON MARCH 7, 2008, I DROVE FROM CLEVELAND, OH TO COLUMBUS, OH. THE ROADS WERE SLIGHTLY SNOW COVERED BUT SLIPPERY AND I HAD EITHER THE AUTOMATIC OR FULL-TIME 4WD ENGAGED DURING THE 120 MILE TRIP. UPON ARRIVING AT MY DESTINATION, I PARKED THE VEHICLE ON A SLIGHT UPHILL GRADE. AS I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND BEGAN TO UNLOAD IT, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK IN AND STOP IT, AND DOUBLE CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE SHIFT LEVER WAS FULLY IN THE PARKED POSITION. IT WAS. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT BACK UP THE GRADE, PLACED THE SHIFT LEVER FIRMLY IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED. SURE ENOUGH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS. I MADE A SPECIAL ATTEMPT TO VERIFY THAT THE VEHICLE WHEELS WERE INDEED TURNING RATHER THAN THE VEHICLE SLIPPING WITH THE WHEELS LOCKED (IN PARK). I REPEATED THIS 3 MORE TIMES AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME OCCURRENCE; THE VEHICLE WAS INDEED ROLLING AND NOT SLIPPING. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY '05 NISSAN ARMADA (27,000 MILES) WITH MY 2 YR OLD SON AND SMELLED A STRONG ODOR, THINKING IT WAS FROM A TRUCK DRIVING NEXT TO ME. I PICKED UP MY DAUGHTER, PUT BOTH CHILDREN IN THEIR CAR SEATS AND STARTED THE IGNITION. TWO PUFFS OF SMOKE CAME OUT ON EITHER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. I QUICKLY UNBUCKLED MY CHILDREN, RAN THEM INTO THE SCHOOL AND SMOKE STARTED BILLOWING OUT OF THE ENGINE. THE FIRE DEPT WAS CALLED & SCHOOL WAS EVACUATED. WITHIN 15 MIN, THE ENGINE AREA WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. I HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THE BATTERY. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO ASSIST ME IN ANY WAY. *TR
SINCE 2006 THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING I HAVE TO PULL TO SIDE BECAUSE I LOST MY BRAKES AND I HAVE TAKEN TO NISSAN DEALER AND THEY HAVE ADJUSTED THE DELTA STROKE SENSOR. I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR MANY YEARS INTO MY WARRANTY EXPIRE. AND KNOW THE WANT TO REPLACE THE POWER BOOSTER. KNOW THEY ARE SAID DELTA STROKE SENSOR ON THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER IS NOT GETTING PROPER VOLTAGE. THEY ARE MANY NISSAN ARMADA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM ONES OF THE LUCKY PERSONA HAVE GOT ON AN ACCIDENT. I BELIEVE NISSAN ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE NISSAN IS RESPONSIBLE TO RECALL ALL ARMADA FROM 2005 TO PRESENT. *TR
DRIVING MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA, PUSHED ON BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP ONLY TO FIND THE BRAKES FAILED COMPLETELY, THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. BRAKES MADE A "GRINDING" NOISE AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT IN NEUTRAL UNTIL STOPPED AND THEN TO PARK. TURNED VEHICLE OFF, AND PROBLEM DISAPPEARED. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG AND I WAS OK TO KEEP DRIVING! *TR
VEHICLE'S HEATER/DEFROSTER FAILS TO OPERATE ON ANY GIVEN DAY. SINCE 10/7/2007 THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 8 TIMES FOR THE HEATER/DEFROSTER ISSUE. NISSAN HAVE REPLACED SEVERAL PARTS, BUT IT STILL DOES NOT OPERATE. THIS IS REFERENCE TO ODI#10212374 DATED 12/19/2007 WHICH I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE. AS OF TODAY 10/8/08, THIS IS ISSUE IS STILL NOT FIXED! *TR
HEATER UNIT FAILS TO OPERATE UNLESS YOU SWITCH BACK AND FORTH THE CONTROL UNIT SEVERAL TIMES. THIS IS A UNSAFE CONDITION DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS. THIS AUTO HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED OR RESOLVED. A VEHICLE'S CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM SHOULD BE RELIABLE AND SHOULD BE FIXED. THE VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER 1 MONTH FOR PARTS THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ORDERED. MY DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT NISSAN IS NOT SHIPPING THE PART. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THIS MEANS. *TR

WHEN DRIVING OUR NISSAN ARMADA, THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE UPON BRAKING. A FEW SECONDS LATER, THE BRAKE LIGHT APPEARS. AS THE CAR IS STILL MOVING & BRAKING AGAIN, THE GRINDING IS STILL THERE & IT SOUNDS LIKE METAL, HOWEVER, WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT FEELS LIKE THERE ARE NO BRAKES. I WOULD HAVE TO BRAKE WELL AHEAD TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AS I ACCELARTE THE GAS, THE ARMADA HAS A HARD TIME PICKING UP SPEED (THIS IS A V8 VEHICLE WITH LOTS OF POWER) & FEELS SLUGGISH TRYING TO GO BEYOND 40 MILES PER HOUR. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN CAR OFF COMPLETELY FOR A FEW MINUTES & RESTART VEHICLE. WE HAVE 2 CHILDREN THAT WE DRIVE AROUND IN THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WITH THE BRAKE PROBLEM. THIS INSTANCE HAS HAPPENED ON MORE THAN 4 OCCASIONS & BOTH MY HUSBAND & I EXPERIENCED IT. MY HUSBAND WAS ON THE FREEWAY WHEN IT HAPPENED TO HIM. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WENT STRAIGHT OVER TO NISSAN WITH KIDS IN TOW & PAID APPROXIMATELY $85 WITH NO RESULTS. SERVICE TECH STATES THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG & DID NOT FIX ANYTHING. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS BRAKING PROBLEM. THE BRAKING PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING ON MY WAY TO WORK. I STOPPED FOR A MINUTE, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, & RESTARTED IT. THE PROBLEM THIS TIME DID NOT GO AWAY. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE. DOES SOMETHING TRAGIC NEED TO HAPPEN FIRST BEFORE NISSAN ADDRESSES THIS PROBLEM? THERE ARE NUMEROUS FORUMS ON THE WEB CLAIMING BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH THE NISSAN ARMADA, HOWEVER, IT HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY ADDRESSED OR FIXED PERMANTLY. I DID MY RESEARCH & ALL I CAN SEE ARE TEMPORARY FIXES. PLEASE...PLEASE...BEFORE ANYTHING TRAGIC MAY HAPPEN (EX: TOYOTA/LEXUS BRAKE RECALLS), HAVE NISSAN FIND A PERMANENT SOLUTION. THERE ARE MANY ARMADA DRIVERS OUT THERE THAT ARE AT A HIGH RISK OF AN ACCIDENT.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA LAST FALL, I TAPPED THE BRAKES AND ENCOUNTERED A SEVERE VIBRATION PHENOMENA THAT I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED ON A VEHICLE BEFORE. I STOPPED. TURNED OFF VEHICLE. CALLED FOR MY HUSBAND TO HELP. WHEN HE ARRIVED, I STARTED THE CAR AND THE PROBLEM WAS GONE. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER IN MANCHESTER, TN (ROBERTS NISSAN 931-728-2212). AT THAT TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE VIBRATION OR TO FIND THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY WENT AHEAD AND CHANGED OUT SOME BRAKE PADS AND DID SOME REPAIR ON THE ROTORS. I HAD NO FURTHER PROBLEMS UNTIL THIS MONTH. THIS TIME MY HUSBAND WAS WITH ME WHEN THE SAME VIBRATION OCCURRED. HE THOUGHT THAT IT FELT LIKE THE ABS WAS TRYING TO KICK IN FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON. I HAD NEVER HAD AN ABS VEHICLE, SO I WASN'T FAMILIAR WITH THAT TYPE OF BRAKING REACTION. I CALLED THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM THAT THE EXACT SAME THING HAD HAPPENED AGAIN AND THAT I WAS BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO THEM. THIS TIME THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD SEEN THAT SAME TYPE OF THING ON A TITAN TRUCK RECENTLY. SURE ENOUGH, AFTER CHECKING THEY DISCOVERED AN ABS TRANSDUCER NEEDED REPLACING. IT WAS BACK ORDERED, AND THEY GAVE ME ANOTHER CAR TO DRIVE BECAUSE THEY FELT THAT IT WOULD BE UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THEY WERE AFRAID OF THE PROBLEM OCCURRING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE. ALTHOUGH THE PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTICED AND REPORTED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, NISSAN WOULD NOT FULLY COVER THE REPAIR. IT APPARENTLY WAS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. I BELIEVE THAT THE DEALER WAS TRYING TO HELP, BUT I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN AND FILED A COMPLAINT (FILE #5775171). I FELT THAT MY REPAIR BILL SHOULD'VE BEEN COVERED ENTIRELY. I ALSO WONDER IF PERHAPS A RECALL SHOULD BE DONE BASED ON THE SAFETY ISSUE AND THE FACT THAT THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THERE MAY BE MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. MY REPAIR BILL WAS $782.67.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. SHE IS WORRIED BECAUSE THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, EVEN WITH THE AMOUNT OF FORCE OF THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 18,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE VEHICLE HAS CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC AW, SIZE P276/70R18 TIRES. ON JUNE 15, 2007, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC FOR A TIRE ROTATION. THE MECHANIC OBSERVED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE WORN. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED THAT THE TIRES HAD PREMATURE WEAR AND TREAD SEPARATION AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE TIRES DIAGNOSED. CLAIM NUMBER 5071419263 WAS FILED WITH CONTINENTAL TIRES ON JULY 16, 2007. I HAVE A 2005 ARMADA AND I EXPERIENCED THE ABS/BRAKE/VDC LIGHT COMING ON. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY RESET THE COMPUTER AND ADDED FLUID TO THE MASTER CYLINDER. THIS HAPPENED AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR 13 MONTHS. SYMPTOMS: BRAKE PEDDLE FELL TO THE FLOORBOARD, GRINDING WAS FELT AND HEARD, DASH BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE HAS A CONSISTENT, OVER-ACCENTUATED VIBRATION AND NOISE THAT EMANATES FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN UNDER ACCELERATION, ESPECIALLY MINOR ACCELERATION IN HIGH GEAR. THE NOISE IS LOUD AND DISTRACTING, THE VIBRATION IS PRONOUNCED AND CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL, GAS & BRAKE PEDAL AND GEAR SHIFT. I OWN A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA (16,000 MILES) WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON AUGUST 22, 2006. IT WAS TAKEN TO A NISSAN DEALER TWO DAYS LATER WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS AND PADS, THE REAR ROTORS WERE RESURFACED WITH NEW PADS. I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP ON FRIDAY, AND RETURNED WITH IT BACK TO THE DEALER ON MONDAY. MY ARMADA WAS NOT FIXED. THE STEERING WHEEL STILL WAS VIOLENTLY SHAKING,AND THE FRONT BRAKE PEDAL WAS SPONGY,AS WELL AS THE BRAKES OVER HEATING. THE DEALER HAD THE ARMADA FOR THREE DAYS TO FIX/REPLACE A FRONT CALIPER NEW PADS AGAIN, AND WHEEL BALANCE. I BELIEVE MORE WORK WAS DONE, HOWEVER THE WORK ORDER DOES NOT REFLECT ANY OTHER REPAIRS. WHAT REALLY DISTURBS ME IS THAT I FOUND OUT THAT IN OCTOBER OF 2005 THE ARMADA HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD AT THAT TIME. THIS MAKES 3 REPAIRS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. NISSAN STATES THE BRAKES ISSUES ARE CORRECTED, I THINK THAT EVERY 10K I WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPLACED OVER AND OVER. NISSAN STATED THAT NO OTHER PADS OR ROTORS WILL BE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY,SINCE THEY WERE FIXED TWICE ALREADY. THEY SAID NEXT TIME THE ISSUE COMES UP DO NOT TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BRING IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN TEST IT WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT ON. THIS WAS VERY INCONVENIENT BECAUSE THE NEXT TWO TIMES IT HAPPENED THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED. FINALLY WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE DEALERSHIP WAS OPEN AND THEY WERE ABLE TO TEST IT. IT TURNS OUT THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS FAILING AND WOULD COST $900 TO FIX. SINCE MY ARMADA WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY IT WAS NOT COVERED BUT WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP ORIGINALLY I HAD 30K MILES, PLUS I BOUGHT A 75K EXTENDED WARRANTY. I PURCHASED A USED 2005 NISSAN ARMADA ON MAY 22, 2006 WITH A MILEAGE OF 34,399 MILES. AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVEN'T HAD IT FOR A 2 FULL MONTHS YET, AND ALREADY IT HAS FAILED ME. ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AFTER WORKING 16 HOURS. I STOPPED IN A RECORD SHOP TO PURCHASE SOME MUSIC CD'S, IT HAD ONLY BEEN ABOUT 15 MINUTES THAT THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF. WHEN I PROCEEDED BACK TO MY VEHICLE TO START IT BACK UP, IT WOULDN'T START. I THEREFORE CALLED AAA, THEY CAME IN A MATTER OF MINUTES, THEY TRIED FOR 45 MINUTES TO GIVE IT A BOOST BUT IT JUST WOULDN'T START, SO THEREFORE AAA HAD TO SEND A FLAT BED TOW TRUCK TO TOW IT BACK TO THE DEALER. I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSED, SO NOW I HAVE TO TAKE OFF A DAY OF WORK TO HAVE THIS VEHICLE TOWED ON MONDAY. THE CATCH 22 IS THEY CAN'T PROMISE ME A LOANER, AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN SURE IF THEY CAN REIMBURSE MY TOWING FEES. I WAS DRIVING ALONG AND THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE AN AWFUL SPONGY CRUNCHING NOISE. BRAKES DON'T WORK. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I BROUGHT IT TO THE NISSAN THOUSAND OAKS DEALER (WHERE I BOUGHT IT) AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND NO CODE SHOWED UP. EACH TIME I HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON TO RESET THE BRAKE LIGHT. NISSAN TOLD ME TO "BRING IT IN" THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS... UNFORTUNATELY, IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ONCE THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS UP SEVERAL TIMES AT THE DEALER WITH NO FIX. 2005 NISSAN ARMADA BRAKES SHAKE WHEN APPLYING THE BREAKS. THE ROTORS ARE WARPED. SHAKING IS GETTING WORSE. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE SITTING IN THE PARKED VEHICLE SMOKE WAS NOTICED COMING FROM UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS ENGAGING. THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS AJAR ALLOWING THE OCCUPANTS TO ESCAPE THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO IT ENGULFING IN FLAMES. WHILE EXITING THE VEHICLE BOTH OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS WERE ALERTED AND REPORTS FILED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING INSPECTED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN ALERTED. UPDATED 5/2/2006 - *NM
I OWN A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA WITH 7000 MILES AND THE BRAKE ROTORS SEEM TO BE WARPED ALREADY. I HAVE A COUSIN WHO HAS A 2004 TITAN AND HAS HAD PLENTY OF BRAKE PROBLEMS ALSO. WHEN BRAKING,ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL HAS A LOT OF VIBRATION. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. BUT NISSAN HAS YET TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES WITH THESE PROBLEMS. THERE ARE SERVICE BULLETINS OUT TO REPLACE THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS BUT AFTER READING MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS POSTED BY OTHER PEOPLE THEY ONLY WANT TO TURN THE ROTORS WHICH IS NOT THE SOLUTION. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT MY RIGHTS ARE AND HOW TO GET NISSAN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. *JB
THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY ON IN MY VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN THIS AUTOMOBILE BACK SEVERAL TIMES AND THIS PROBLEM CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THE INITIAL INCIDENT IN 2006 OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH. THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE BRAKES LOST POWER ALONG WITH GIVING A SPRING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THIS FAILURE TO STOP- LIKE ACTIVITY HAS CONTINUED THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED BRAKING POWER RETURNS TO NORMAL AND THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OFF. INITIALLY THE ACTIVITY OCCURRED AT LOW SPEEDS AND HAS MORE RECENTLY INCREASED IN FREQUENCY AND HAS OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT IS A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE THAT HAS OCCURRED AS MANY TIMES AS THREE TIMES IN A WEEK, PUTTING MYSELF AND CHILD IN DANGER. *JB
1) JUST TRADED MY CAR IN FOR A "BRAND NEW" 2005 NISSAN ARMADA IN JANUARY 2006. THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS ABOUT 4000 MILES ON IT. THE PROBLEM STARTED AT 600 MILES. I BOUGHT THE SUV WITH OVER 400 MILES ON IT. 2) THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP WHILE DRIVING. AS YOU APPLY THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL VIBRAKES AND MAKES A CLICKING/MECHANICAL NOISE. THIS HAPPENS EVERY 5-7 DAYS. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WITH MY FAMILY (WE HAVE A 5 YR-OLD AND A 2 YR-OLD) IN THE SUV. WE HAVE HAD TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION OR PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WHILE BLOCKING THE RIGHT LANE MANY TIMES. 3) TO TEMPORARILY CORRECT THE PROBLEM, YOU WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER ASAP. THERE WERE TIMES WHERE I HAD TO JUST STOP THE VEHICLE AS THE SUV WOULD JUST VIBRATE AND THE BRAKING APPEARS TO BE WEAK. ONCE PULLED OVER, YOU HAVE TO STOP THE IGNITION AND RESTART THE CAR. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY ONLY HAD TO REPLACE THE FUSES. THEN ABOUT 1-2 WEEKS LATER, I HAD TO DRIVE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER, WHERE THEY DESCRIBED THE ROTORS AS BEING WARPED. THEY PUT IN A NEW BRAKE KIT BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINS. *NM
THIS WILL BE MY SECOND COMPLAIN FILED FOR THE SAME VEHICLE. AT 14000 MILES MY VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN IS HAVING BRAKE FAILURE I TOOK IN MY VEHICLE AND SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTED THAT IT MIGHT BE MY BRAKE PADS AND IT WILL COST ME APROX. $200 TO $300 TAKING IN MY THE MY BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED AT 7000 MILES. AFTER BEING IN THE SHOP FOR 2 DAYS THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY PADS, HOWEVER I MY PROBLEM STILL CONTINUED, WHEN DOWNHILL I WOULD FEEL GRINDING WHEN BRAKING AND IF I SUDDENLY BRAKE I FELT IT EVEN MORE. TO ONE POINT THAT I ALMOST HIT A CAR IN FRONT OF ME THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO STOP BECAUSE I WAS PROBABLY GOING ABOUT 10 MPH. I FINALLY TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE SHOP AND THIS TIME THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM TO BE BRAKE PADS, AND ROTORS BUT NO CHARGE IS GOING TO BE MADE TO ME BECAUSE IT IS COVERED BY WARRANTY. *NM
WELL I THOUGHT THAT I WAS PURCHASING A REALLY GOOD AND SAFE VEHICLE AT FIRST, BUT NOW I AM FINDING TO ALMOST DOUBT MYSELF.... WELL I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY NISSAN ARMADA FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS NOW AND IT USED TO GET ME TO WORK AND BACK HOME ON A DAILY BASIS. IT IS ALSO USED TO TAKE ME AND MY CHILDREN TO THE DOCTORS ETC. I HAD FELT THIS VIBRATION IN THE TRUCK AND STEERING WHEEL AND I DID NOT THINK IT WAS ANYTHING UNTIL IT STARTED TO GET WORSE AS THE DAYS PROGRESSED. IF I GO OVER 30 MPH AND HAVE TO SLOW DOWN THE VIBRATION IS REAL MINOR. IF I GO OVER 35 MPH IT TAKES LONGER TO STOP AND THE VIBRATION GETS WORST. I HAVE CALLED UP THE DEALER TO TRY TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO MAKE AN APT. AND JUST WAIT TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX IT... SO FAR NO CALL BACK OF ANY KIND. *JB

BOUGHT THIS 2005 NISSAN ARMADA NEW IN 2005. SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT THE DRIVERS DOOR HAS BEEN VERY NOISY AND OPENS SLIGHTLY WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND HIT A BUMP. DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE HE ISSUE AND IT IS NORMAL. ALSO HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN 5 OR MORE TIMES BECAUSE FRONT END SHIMMY MAKES STEERING WHEEL SHAKE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THEY HAVE BALANCED THE TRUCK EVERYTIME AND STILL HAS NOT HELPED. ONLY 25,000 MILE ON THE TRUCK AND ALL THESE PROBLEMS. THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE DRIVERS DOOR AND FIND THE ISSUE IN THE FRONT END MAKING THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKE. NOT HAPPY! *NM
OCTOBER 28, 2005 NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION DEAR SIR / MADAM, I CURRENTLY OWN A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WE ARE HAVING A CONTINUING PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE ROLLING BACK WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED WHILE ON AN INCLINE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE. ABOUT 25% OF THE TIME WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY BEGINS ROLLING BACK AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL. THERE IS NO INDICATION THE VEHICLE WOULD STOP ROLLING WITHOUT IMMEDIATELY BRAKING OR ACCELERATING QUICKLY. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS DEPRESSED TO COUNTERACT THE ROLL IT SEEMS TO TAKES A SECOND OR TWO BEFORE THE VEHICLE STARTS MOVING FORWARD. BECAUSE THIS ROLLBACK HAPPENS UNEXPECTEDLY I FEEL IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE WE ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE VEHICLE BEHIND US, OR WORSE A PERSON WALKING BEHIND THE VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER TWICE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED. BOTH TIMES IT WAS IN FOR SERVICE THEY SAID THIS WAS CONSIDERED NORMAL OPERATION. ON THE SECOND VISIT THEY SAID THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE WAS IN AND HE CONFIRMED THIS WAS NORMAL OPERATION. ERIC, THE SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT GIVE ME THE REPRESENTATIVE'S NAME.
