DT*: THE CONTACT STATED ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER EACH OF THE FIRST THREE INCIDENTS. ON EVERY VISIT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE GAS CAP WAS REPLACED. WHEN THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED THE FOURTH TIME TWO MONTHS AGO THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND SUGGESTED DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNALS INDICATING A PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 4:30 AM ON JULY 9TH, 2005, MY WIFE EXPERIENCED A MOMENTARY BRAKE FALUIRE WHILE EXITING A FREWWAY RAMP AT ANTHEM WAY IN ANTHEM, AZ WJILE TRAVELING ABOUT 65 MPH. THE BRAKES RESTORED THEMSELVES PRIOR TO A STOPLIGHT AT THE OFF-RAMP OF ANTHEM WAY AND I-17. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ON A FEW OCCAIONS, BUT THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY IMAGINATION. I HAVE NOT SOUGHT RECOURSE FROM THE DEALER, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, AS I REALIZE THAT THEY HAVE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, WHICH DOES NOT MANIFEST ITSELF THAT OFTEN. I BELIEVE HAVING BEEN IN FLEET MANGEMENT FOR 25+ YEARS, THAT IT MAY BE A FAULTY BRAKE VALVE. ALSO I AM A MEMBER OF NAFA. THERE WAS NOT ANY ACCIDENT.
DT: 2001 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONSUMER STATES THE TREAD ON DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE CAME OFF WHILE DRIVING ON I17 AT 55 MPH. THE TREAD WENT AROUND THE AXLE AND CAUSED DAMAGE. THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL TIRE ON THE VEHICLE. THE TIRES HAD BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED. THE VEHICLE SHOOK, AND THE CONSUMER HEARD A BUMP. SHE PULLED OVER. THE SPARE TIRE WAS PUT ON, AND THE TIRE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP STATED SHE NEEDED TO SPEAK WITH FIRESTONE. FIRESTONE STATED SHE HAD TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THEM. THE TIRE SIZE IS P225/70R15.*AK THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRE, THAT UPON INSPECTION IT APPEARED THE TIRE WAS BEING OPERATED UNDER AN OVER-DEFLATED STATE. *JB
DT: THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN BY THE OWNER TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALER FOUND OUT THAT THE LEFT OUTER TIE ROD END HAD TO REPLACED. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO DO A REPAIR OF THE WHOLE LINKAGE SYSTEM. DEALER ADVISED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED YET. SO MANY REPAIRS NOW WILL BE AT THE COST OF THE OWNER. THE CONSUMER HAS NO IDEA THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIE ROD END UNTIL THE INSPECTION. NO INDICATION AS TO WHY OR HOW THE TIE ROD BECAME LOOSE. THE TIE ROD END IS LOCATED ON THE FRONT LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM IS NOT REPAIRED YET. NO WARNING LIGHTS ON IN THE VEHICLE. NO OTHER PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE.*AK
THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT IS LOCKED IN THE STODED POSITION AND CAN NOT BE USED. THIS WAS NOT DETECTED AS I USUALLY DRIVE ALONE AND THE DRIVERS BELTS WORK FINE.
DT: CALLER WAS HAVING STEERING PROBLEMS. AFTER PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD CONSUMER DISCOVERED THAT A BOLT HAD COME OFF. THE STEERING SHAFT BECAME MISALIGNED CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. THIS OCCURRED TODAY WHILE DRIVING TO WORK. THE VEHICLE IS NOW PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE OWNER IS GETTING A BOLT TO MAKE REPAIRS BEFORE MOVING VEHICLE. *AK
BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS CRACKED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. *NM
MY 2001 NISSAN FRONTIER HAS SPILLED FUEL EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE TANK SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE TRUCK. I WONDERED WHY THIS HAD NOT BEEN CORRECTED BY A RECALL SO I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS WEB SITE. I FOUND NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 02V300000 AND TO MY SURPRISE FOUND THAT THIS PROBLEM HAD BEEN NOTED AND A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER BUT HE TOLD ME THAT BASED ON THE VEHICLE ID NUMBER MY TRUCK DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THIS RECALL. I THEN CALLED NISSAN DIRECTLY TO BE TOLD THE SAME THING. THE PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL IS IDENTICAL TO WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING AND IT WOULD APPEAR THAT NEITHER THE DEALER NOR NISSAN IS WILLING TO DO ANYTHING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THANKS, SEAN
2/25/05 I PURCHASED A USED NISSAN FRONITER SC '01. ONE WEEK LATER THE "SERVICE ENGINE" LIGHT APPEARED. A NISSAN TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE OXYGEN SENSORS NOT PROVIDING FEEDBACK DUE TO CONDENSATION IN THE WIRE HARNESSES. THE TECH. TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A BULLETIN HE FOUND STATING THAT THE WIRE HARNESSES IN THAT YEAR FRONTIER WERE FOUND TO BE FAULTY AND REPLACED WITH UPDATED HARNESSES, WHICH I WOULD HAVE TO BUY ALONG WITH FOUR SENSORS, TO FIX MY PROBLEM. THE COST IN PARTS WAS $965 AND LABOR IS ESTIMATED AT $880. NISSAN WILL NOT EVEN PAY FOR PARTIAL PARTS EVEN THOUGH THEY ADMIT IT IS FAULTY PRODUCT. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM TO COMPLAIN WITH THE APPROPRIATE DEPARTMENT AND NOW THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS.*AK
I OWN '01 NISSAN XTERRA. IN '03 I HAD TO REPLACE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR. FEB. '05 REMAINING 3 REGULATORS FAILED, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. ONE OF THE WINDOWS WAS IN "DOWN POSITION" DURING HEAVY SNOW STORM.*AK IT CREATED SIGNIFFICANT DISTRACTION TO A DRIVER. CURRENTLY WAITING FOR NISSAN TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT AND RECAL.
THE CONSUMER TURNED ON THE DEFROSTER OF THE 2001 NISSAN FRONTIER FOR ABOUT 20 MIN TO REMOVE FOG FROM THE WINDSHIELD. WHEN THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE HE SAW A ONE FOOT CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD. **NAR*** *NM THE CRACK EMANATED FROM THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD IN A STRAIGHT LINE THAT HAD BECOME CONVEX IN THE CENTER. *SC *JB
I BOUGHT A 2001 NISSAN FRONTIER 27,000 MILES ON IT SOON AFTERWARDS SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON, DEALER REPLACED CATALYTIC CONVERTER, SINCE THEN LIGHT CONSTANTLY COMES ON NOW HAVE 128,000 MILES ON TRUCK THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FROM THE GET GO. THE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR WAS CHANGED AROUND 50,000 MILES WOULD THERE BE ANY WARRANTY ON THE NEW UNIT?*JB
FOR ABOUT THE PAST YEAR, THE DRIVER'S ELECTRIC WINDOW HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING. WHEN OPENING THE WINDOW, THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM, HOWEVER, CLOSING THE WINDOW, IT GOES UP VERY SLOWLY AND YOU HAVE TO TAP ON THE BUTTON TO GET IT TO CLOSE COMPLETELY.*AK I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO SERVICE TODAY AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE DID NOT MEET THE "SERVICE CAMPAIGN" BECAUSE THE SERIAL NUMBER OF MY VEHICLE WAS NOT IN THE RANGE OF THE PROBLEM AND BECAUSE MY VEHICLE HAS 73K MILES AND THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN WAS ONLY TO 60K MILES. NO CORRECTION ACTION WAS TAKEN BECAUSE MY VEHICLE'S SERIAL NUMBER WAS NOT IN THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN RANGE. I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET IF I WANT THIS REPAIRED.
THE TRUCK HAS BEEN GIVING ME TOO MANY PROBLEMS THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN GIVING ME PROBLEMS I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY DIDN'T WANT TO FIX IT THEY SAID IT WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM THAT IT WAS MINE FROM THE MOMENT I TOOK IT OUT OF THE DEALER. *JB
FUEL SENDING UNIT REPLACED DUE TO CORROSION BUILD UP AROUND FUEL SENDING AREA. REPLACED BY DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, OEM PART PROVED DEFECTIVE EACH TIME. FINALLY RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN THAT CORROSION BUILD UP WAS CAUSING THE FUEL SENDING UNIT TO FAIL IN AREAS THAT USE SALT ON THE ROAD. TODAY, 9/10/04 DEALER HAD TO REPLACE FUEL SENDING UNIT AGAIN(WITH RECALL APPROVED FUEL SENDING UNIT) AND NOW TELLS ME THAT THE CORROSION IS SO BAD THE FUEL TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE IS 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS ONLY 56,000 MILES. THEY TOLD US THAT THE TANK MAY EVENTUALLY LEAK FUEL FROM THE SENDING UNIT AREA THAT HAS CORROSION. *AK
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ,TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN DEALER, INDICATED THAT THE COMPUTER MUST BE REPROGRAMED PER SERVICE BULLETIN BOARD NTB02-092 . WHAY CUSTOMER HAS TO PAY WHAT NISSAN KNOWS THAT HAVE PROBLEM DEALER CHARGED ME $135.*AK
CONSUMER SMELLED FUMES COMING INTO THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THE RIGHT MANIFOLD EXHAUST WAS DEFECTIVE. THE WARRANTY COMPANY STATED, NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MANUFACTURER STATED NO COMPLAINTS RECEIVED.*AK
NO SPECIAL EVENT. BELTS SLIPPED IN ONE TIRE AND OTHER THREE TIRES DECLARED "OUT-OF-ROUND" AT 16,000 MILES. HAVE WARRANTY REPLACED "SLIPPED" TIRE AT 50% COST OF NEW TIRE, WHICH WAS 31% HIGHER COST THAN ORIGINAL PURCHASE. WILL NEED TO REPLACE OTHER THREE TIRES AT "WARRANTY" COST.*AK
WHILE DRIVING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, AND THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
A/C FAN SWITCH GONE BAD. REPLACED PART. I KNOW A COUPLE OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME TYPE OF TRUCK AND SIMILAR YEAR THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK
TAILGATE SUPPORT CABLE JUST BROKE NO LOAD ON TAILGATE. TAILGATE WAS DOWN TO SAVE FUEL. CABLE BROKE IN THE MIDDLE APPEARS TO BE RUSTED.(THE WIRE). *AK
CONSUMER NOTICED FOR 3 1/2 YEARS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. TECHNICIAN DETERMINE DPROBLEM WAS DUE TO GAS CAP. *AK
MANUAL TRANSMISSION BEARINGS HAVE WORN OUT EARLY.*AK
I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD (2001) NISSAN FRONTIER XE QUAD CAB. THE GAS TANK HAS CORRODED THROUGH IN THIS SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. ALTHOUGH NISSAN HAS PICKED UP THE COST OF THE PART, I WAS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LABOR COSTS. I ADMIRE THEIR WILLINGNESS TO PAY FOR THE PART; HOWEVER, A SAFETY ISSUE SUCH AS THIS MIGHT WARRANT AN INVESTIGATION AND A POSSIBLE RECALL. IT SEEMS AS IF A GAS TANK SHOULD BE THE MOST SECURE PART ON AN AUTOMOBILE. THE EXPOSURE TO HARMFUL FUMES AND POSSIBLE EXPLOSION ARE SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS. TO HAVE A GAS TANK CORRODE IN 39 MONTHS OF USE IS INEXCUSABLE. ALTHOUGH THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY, THIS IS AN ISSUE OF MORE GLOBAL CONCERN AND SHOULD BE A DEFECT COMPLETELY PAID FOR BY THE MANUFACTURER ON ALL SIMILAR MODELS. *LA
I BOUGHT A NEW 2001 PATHFINDER IN JULY AND I LEASE IT JUST THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR OUT OF NOWHERE THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND IT CAME ON AND THEN TURN OFF I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSE AND THEY TOLD ME IT HAD AN INTERNAL FAILURE THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR WAS NOT GOOD THEY TOLD ME THAT IN THE YEARS OF SERVICE THEY HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSE IT OR WHAT HAPPENED THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD COST ME ALMOST 2,000.00 TO FIX AND I DECLINE BECAUSE I FELT IT WAS A DEFECT THAT THE CAR HAD AFTER COMMUNICATING THIS INFORMATION TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIR THEY DENIED THE REPAIRS BECAUSE MY CAR HAS MORE THAN 36,000 MILES. I FEEL THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY AND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT I FELT THEY SHOULD COVER IF THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT EVEN TELL ME WHAT CAUSE IT I FELT THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE AFTER ALL THIS IS NOT A CHEAP VEHICLE AND NOW I WILL NEVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN.*AK
WHILE DRIVING ENGINE CHECK LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR ANALYSIS , AND MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED REPLACING DUE TO A WORN OUT PART. *AK
THE ABS SENSOR WAS LEAKING FLUID ONTO THE AXLE, WHICH CAUSED THE WHEEL TO BE NON-RESPONSIVE. WILL BE TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MECHANIC CHECK OUT THE LEAKAGE. THE CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED FOR HIS SAFETY. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
CONSUMER HAD TO REFILL THE AIR IN FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE MORE THAN USUAL. THE TIRE BECAME FLAT WITHOUT WARNING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, DUAL AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND DRIVER SUSTAINED SEVERE BACK INJURIES. *AK
I BOUGHT THE 2001 FRONTIER BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 10 OR 20 MILES ON IT. SINCE THEN I'VE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 8 TIMES FOR THE A/C (THATS RIGHT 8 TIMES). EACH TIME THE SERVICE PEOPLE ASSURE ME IT'S FIXED THIS TIME. THE A/C BLOWS HOTTER THAN THE HEATER DOES AND THATS RIDICULOUS. WHEN I GO THERE THE SERVICE MANAGER ( PAT BURKE ) TREATS ME LIKE A CRIMINAL INSTEAD OF A CUSTOMER. AS OF TODAY THE TRUCK WAS FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL, ACCORDING TO THEM, BUT I'VE HEARD THAT 7 TIMES BEFORE. VERY CONCERNED AND TIRED!!! NV. *AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING ALIGNMENT WAS CAUSING THE TIRES TO WEAR. THE ALIGNMENT HAS BEEN CHANGED THREE TIMES. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK *CB
FRONT TIRES WEAR VERY FAST ON OUTSIDE EDGES EVEN AFTER ALIGNMENTS AND NUMEROUS ROTATIONS. OUTSIDE OF TIRES BALD AFTER ONLY 20K MILES. APPARENTLY NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. *JB
FAILURE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM CAUSED BRAKE PEDAL TO DROP HALF WAY TO THE FLOOR (APPROXIMATELY LEVEL WITH GAS PEDAL) AND INABILITY TO SLOW OR STOP THE VEHICLE. NONE OF MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO APPLY THE SERVICE BRAKES RESULTED IN ANY BRAKING EFFECT AND ENGINE SURGE WAS DETECTED IN AT LEAST ONE BRAKING ATTEMPT. DRIVER RESORTED TO EMERGENCY BRAKE, BUT TOO LATE TO AVOID COLLISION IN INTERSECTION, TWO VEHICLES DESTROYED, FOUR PEOPLE WHERE INJURED. *LA
I HAVE A 2001 NISSAN FRONTIER THAT THE RIGHT INNER PAD IS WORN TO THE SENSOR. THE DISC PAD IS WEARING AT NOTICEABLE ANGLE FROM LEADING EDGE TO TRAILING EDGE. THE OTHER PADS ARE WEARING NORMALLY. THE TRUCK ALSO HAS A SEVERE BRAKE PULL TO THE RIGHT. THE PULL IS WORSE WHEN HOT. THE CAR IS UNDRIVEABLE AT THIS TIME. THE CAR WILL SWITH LANES WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. AS AN ASE CERTIFIED AUTO TECHNICIAN I BELIEVE THE CAUSE IS THE USE OF PHENOLIC CALIPER PISTONS. PHENOLIC PISTONS ARE KNOWN TO CAUSE BRAKE PULLS, LOCKED UP BRAKES AND UNEVEN PAD WEAR.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL HOURS DURING THE DAY IT WAS PARKED AT 10 PM, BY 1:30 AM CONSUMER WAS AWAKENED BY THE SOUND OF FIRE FIGHTERS EXTINGUISHING HIS VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT ARSON WAS NOT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE.*AK *TS
ON 3-31-2003 MY 2001 NISSAN FRONTIER CAUGHT FIRE AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 4-5 HOURS. THE STATE FIRE MARSHALL SUSPECTS THE FIRE WAS ELECTRICAL IN ORIGIN. THE CAB AND BED WERE BURNED. THE FRONT END SUSTAINED NO DAMAGE. *JB
WHILE DOING SOME PERSONAL MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THERE WAS OIL LEAKING FROM THE OIL PAN. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THREE DEALERS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. ONE DEALER REPLACED THE REAR MAIN SEAL FOR THE POWER TRAIN. THE SEAL HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES AND IS LEAKING AGAIN. *AK
BRAKE PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. CONSUMER APPLIED BRAKE PEDAL AND HIT THE GAS PEDAL INSTEAD, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *NLM. *AK
DURING HIGH WINDS IN THE RIVERSIDE,CALIFORNIA AREA THE BED LINER OF MY 2001 NISSAN FRONTIER WAS SUCKED FROM THE BED OF THE TRUCK. INSIDE OF THE BED AT THE TIME WERE PERSONAL ITEMS THAT WERE ALSO EJECTED WITH THE BED LINER. THIS TRUCK WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW ONLY 9 MONTHS EARLIER AND THE BED LINER WAS FACTORY INSTALLED AND WAS INCLUDED IN THE TRUCK ACCESSORY PACKAGE. THE BED LINER WAS DESTROYED ALONG WITH THE PERSONAL ITEMS. ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO CONFIRMATION IT APPEARS THERE COULD BE ONE FATALITY AND DAMAGE TO OTHER VEHICLES INCLUDING MY OWN ALTHOUGH MINOR, INCLUDE, SCRATCHES. *JB
CONTINUAL & INTERMITTENT VERY LOUD NOISE IN AREA OF CLUTCH, THROWOUT BEARING AND/OR PILOT BEARING ON STARTUP. ONLY GOES AWAY AFTER RELEASING CLUTCH PEDAL.
THE VEHICLES GAS NOZZLE DOES NOT SHUT PUMP OFF WHEN GAS GETS TO A CERTAIN POINT. CONSUMER STATES AS A RESULT GAS GETS POURED OVER DRIVER AND VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. PH

I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE UNPLANNED SERVICE VISITS. MY NISSAN FRONTIER SC IS 18 MONTHS OLD. THE GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO IMPROPER INTERNAL GEOMETRY. THIS CAUSED FUEL TO GUSH OUT OF THE TANK AFTER FILLING...CERTAINLY A SAFETY HAZARD. THE FUEL LEVEL INDICATION INSTRUMENT SHOWED INCORRECT FUEL LEVEL AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS NOT NECESSARILY A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT IS STILL AN ISSUE, NONETHELESS. AN ABS SENSOR FAILED, WHICH RENDERED THE TRUCKS ABS SYSTEM INOPERABLE...ALSO A CRUCIAL SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD TWO FRONT END ALLIGNMENTS AND HAVE ALREADY REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES ON THE TRUCK AFTER ONLY 33,000 MILES. THIS COULD ALSO POTENTIALLY LEAD TO UNSAFE TRAVEL. LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, THE PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW MECHANISM FAILED. ALL OF THESE CONDITIONS WERE REMEDIED BY THE DEALER. BUT, AFTER BEING NOTIFIED OF ALL OF THESE ISSUES WITH ONE OF THEIR NEW VEHICLES, NISSAN HAS ONLY RESPONDED WITH A GENERIC, "SORRY."

ON JUNE 12TH,2002, THE LEFT-SIDE TAILGATE OF MY 2001 FRONTIER TRUCK SPONTANEOUSLY DETACHED ITSELF FROM THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. AND, FOR THE SAKE OF MY SAFETY AND THE VEHICLES AROUND ME, I COULD NOT IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. HENCE, WHILE I DROVE, THIS "DANGLING" TAILGATE CONTINUALLY BANGED THE BUMPER AND VARIOUS AREAS OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING PAINT DAMAGE, INDENTATIONS, AND A GRAVE SAFETY HAZARD FOR MYSELF AND THE SURROUNDING VEHICLES/PEOPLE. THANKFULLY, THE TAILGATE DID NOT COMPLETELY FLY OFF OF THE VEHICLE TO CAUSE FURTHER INJURY AND/OR FATALITY TO MYSELF NOR THE SURROUNDING VEHICLES/PEOPLE. TO THIS DATE (TWO MONTHS AFTER INFORMING THE MANUFACTURER), MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND NO ONE FROM NISSAN HAS CONTACTED ME REGARDING RESOLVING AND REMEDYING THIS DEFECT AND GRAVE SAFETY HAZARD.*AK
CATCH FOR FRONT DRIVERS SEATBELT FAILED. CATCH CRACKED AND WOULD NOT LOCK.*AK
EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS CRACKED DUE TO MANIFOLD IS MADE OF ONE TYPE OF METAL, AND ENGINE BLOCK IS ANOTHER TYPE. THESE TWO METALS HEAT/COOL AT DIFFERENT RATES CAUSING UNDUE STRESS ON MANIFOLD. AS A RESULT THE MANIFOLD HAS CRACKED, ALLOWING TOXIC FUMES TO ENTER VEHICLE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. *JB
WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDDLE, THE PEDDLE BEGAN TO MOVE IN A TAPPING MOTION AGAINST CONSUMERS FOOT, MAKING A LOUD NOISE WITH EACH TAP, CONSUMER NO LONGER OWNS THE VEHICLE. *JG
