WHILE GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, I ACCELERATED TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC BUT WAS UNABLE TO GAIN SPEED SO I GOT OFF ON THE FIRST EXIT RAMP. HAD PLENTY OF ENGINE POWER BUT LOST TORQUE. FIRST THOUGHT, MUST BE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. GOT HOME AND CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL AND IT WAS FINE, THE OIL DID NOT LOOK LIKE TRANSMISSION OIL, IT WAS DISCOLORED AND HAD A DIFFERENT FEEL TO IT. WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. COOLANT HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. DID MY RESEARCH AND FOUND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. AS FOR THE WARRANTY,BY WHICH I STILL HAVE TO PAY OVER $2500, I BELIEVE NISSAN SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THE 05 FRONTIER, PATHFINDER, AND PAID FOR THE WHOLE REPAIR FOR THEIR USE OF WHAT I CALL DEFECTIVE PARTS. ( RADIATOR & TRANSMISSION COOLER ). *TR
I FOUND OUT A FAULTY ENGINEERED CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY CAUSED RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN MY VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED LESS THEN A MONTH OUTSIDE & 7000 MI OVER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. EXTENSION FOR THE WARRANTY TO 80,000 WAS PUT IN PLACE FOR A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FOR THIS ITEM BACK IN 2010. IN 2010 MY VEHICLE DID NOT EVEN HAVE 50,000 SO NONE OF THIS APPLIED TO ME! NOR DID NISSAN DO THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL MY TRUCK PRIOR KNOWING THIS PART FAILS AFTER 80000! ALL THE PEOPLE THIS HAPPENS TO AFTER THIS LAW SUIT WENT DOWN ARE OUT OF LUCK BECAUSE TOO MUCH TIME HAS PASSED. SO, I AS A CONSUMER WHO TAKES CARE OF THEIR VEHICLE AND KEEPS LOW MILES, HAS TO PAY BIG MONEY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM! I CALLED NISSAN HEADQUARTERS TO DO THE RIGHT THING. THEY SAID BECAUSE OF THE JUDGMENT OF THE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT, THEY CAN NOT HONOR MY REQUEST TO DO THE RIGHT THING. I HAVE TO PAY $2500 TO FIX MY TRUCK! I ASKED IF I HAD TO SUE INDEPENDENTLY AND TAKE TO TWITTER TO HELP MY CAUSE? THE GAL ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE (HIGHEST PERSON UP THE CHAIN I COULD REACH) SAID; "YES MAM, I'M SORRY MAM, BUT I GUESS THAT'S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. MY HANDS ARE TIED BY THIS JUDGMENT I CAN DO NOTHING FOR YOU"! I FEEL COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF AND DECEIVED BY NISSAN!!! NISSAN FRONTIER 2005 TRUCK: FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT STARTED SHOWING VARIABLE FUEL LEVELS, FLUCTUATING WILDLY, THEN COMPLETELY STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THIS AFTER SOME 75,000 MILES. NO PRIOR WARNING. NO EXTREME USE CONDITIONS, JUST NORMAL EVERYDAY DRIVING ON THIS VEHICLE. DEALER REFUSED REPLACEMENT BECAUSE IT WAS OVER 75,000 MILES.
2ND TIME A SOLENOID WENT OUT RESULTING IN ALL LOSS OF POWER AND POWER STARING WAS UNMANAGEABLE, UNABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE. ANOTHER $1500 FIX. *TR
I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN MY TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL AND WOULDN'T GET INTO GEAR. WITH HESITATION, IT FINALLY JUMPED INTO GEAR BUT WAS VERY SLUGGISH WITH HARDLY ANY POWER. IT WAS QUITE DANGEROUS WITH A LINE OF VEHICLES BEHIND ME I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET REAR-ENDED. THANKFULLY I WAS ONLY 2 MINUTES FROM MY OFFICE WHERE I WAS ABLE TO PULL IN THE PARKING LOT AND UNLOAD MY TWO CHILDREN AND CALL MY WIFE TO PICK US UP. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR SIT THERE OVER THE WEEKEND BECAUSE I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. ON THE FOLLOWING MONDAY I HAD IT TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A CRACKED RADIATOR HEAD WITH COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING THIS FAILURE. I THEN HAD IT TOWED AGAIN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED IT AND CONFIRMED THE FIRST DIAGNOSIS. THEY SAID UNFORTUNATELY I WAS OVER THE MILEAGE AND TO CALL THE NATIONAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND PETITION FOR ASSISTANCE. AFTER LOOKING UP ALL THE INFORMATION I FIND IT DISCERNING THAT NISSAN HASN'T DONE THE RIGHT THING AND RECALLED THIS TO MAKE IT RIGHT. *TR
A CRACK IN THE RADIATOR HAS CAUSED COOLANT TO MIX WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THIS HAS RESULTED IN CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION REQUIRING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION AND COMPLETE RADIATOR REPLACEMENT. I HAVE BEEN QUOTED A TOTAL COST OF CLOSE TO $5000. *TR

ENTIENDO QUE NO ES JUSTO YA QUE NO ES NUESTRA CULPA DEL DESPERFECTO QUE TIENE LA GUAGUA. *TR
RADIATOR LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID, CAUSES TRANSMISSION TO FAIL AND REQUIRES A REBUILD. EXPENSIVE $3000 REPAIR. CURRENT LITIGATION AND COURT CASE DOES NO GOOD TO MOST OF THE CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. NO WARNING FROM NISSAN THAT THE RADIATOR IS FLAWED.
MY NISSAN FRONTIER TRUCK'S "CHECK ENGINE SOON" LIGHT APPEARED. THE WARNING WAS DTC P0463. IT CORRESPONDS WITH NISSAN'S TECHNICAL BULLETIN EL07-027B, REFERENCE NTB07-069B. NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 9/24/11 AND 72,000 MILES OR LESS. MY VEHICLE'S MILEAGE IS AT 32,500 MILES. NISSAN RECOGNIZED THAT IT HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT. THEY EVEN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR IT. UNFORTUNATELY, I DON'T DRIVE THIS VEHICLE MUCH. I CHECKED ON THE INTERNET. MANY OF THE PROBLEMS APPEARED AT THE 30,000 MILE MARK. MY FUEL GAUGE IS ERRATIC AND DOES NOT SHOW AN ACCURATE LEVEL OF FUEL. THIS PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY THE DETERIORATION OF THE UNIT BASED ON USE AND NOT TIME; THEREFORE, I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD EITHER RECALL THIS PART OR EXTEND THE WARRANTY WITH EITHER THE TIME OR MILEAGE OR UNLIMITED. I AM AFRAID THAT MY FUEL WILL RUN OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH NISSAN. THEY DON'T TAKE OWNERSHIP OVER THEIR PROBLEMS. I PERSONALLY WILL NOT PURCHASE A NISSAN VEHICLE AGAIN. *TR
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AROUND 9 PM AT 65 MPH. THE ENGINE STOPPED I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY AND COME TO A SAFE STOP. I HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL ,THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED 1/8 TANK OF FUEL LEFT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I GOT FUEL AND DROVE IT HOME. HOOKED THE TRUCK TO A SCANNER CODE P0463 FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT. I BELIEVE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM ON OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES. THE DEALER TOLD ME MY TRUCK WAS NOT COVERED BY THAT RECALL. CAN YOU TELL ME IF MY TRUCK IS COVERED UNDER ANY OTHER RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM? THANK YOU . *TR
AT THE APPROXIMATE SPEED OF 5 TO 8 MPH, AND ACCELERATING, THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" SIGNAL LIGHT UP. IMMEDIATELY I HAD TO TURN 5000 RPMS TO REACH A SPEED OF 20 MPH. I DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES TO HOME AND PARKED IT THEIR. CONTACTED MY MECHANIC AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HIS GARAGE THE NEXT MORNING FOR A TOTAL OF 8 MILES IN ADDITION TO THE 5 FOR A TOTAL OF 13 MILES DRIVEN WHILE IN WARNING. UPON COMPLETION OF A DIAGNOSTICS CHECK, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A TRANSMISSION RADIATOR VALVE FAILURE. THIS VALVE FAILS TO OPERATE, AND DOES NOT ALLOW COOLANT AND LUBRICATION OF THE TRANSMISSION TO CONTINUE. THE VALVE IS CONNECTED TO THE TRANSMISSION RADIATOR, LOCATED WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE COOLING RADIATOR. THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED, AND UPON TEST DRIVE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFICIENT OR HAD BURNED UP 3RD AND 4TH GEARS. THE TOTALITY OF THE REPAIRS TO INCLUDE REPLACEMENT OF A TRANSMISSION, RADIATOR, FLUIDS AND LABOR WAS IN EXCESS OF $4,000.00. A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 130,000 MILES OF HIGHWAY USE, WITH ALL MAINTENANCE PERFORMED AS PRESCRIBED WITHIN THE OWNERS MANUAL, SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED. A SINGLE VALVE IS/ WAS THE RESPONSIBLE CULPRIT. I HAVE PREVIOUSLY OWNED A FORD RANGER, TOOK CARE OF IT AS I HAVE THE FRONTIER, AND HAD IN EXCESS OF 200,000 MILES ON THE RANGER UPON TRADING IT IN. I NEVER REPLACED A TRANSMISSION IN MY LIFE ON ANY VEHICLE. NISSAN NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AT HAND AND TAKE THE APPROPRIATE CORRECTIVE ACTION, RESPECT THE CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE RESPECTED YOU OVER THE YEARS. *TR
I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT , WAITING FOR LIGHT TO CHANGE. AS LIGHT CHANGED APPLIED PRESSURE TO GAS PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE THE ENGINE WOULD JUST REV UP, FINALLY MOVED SLOWLY. I DROVE IT LIKE THAT FOR COUPLE BLOCKS THEN I PARKED FOR AN HOUR OR SO, AFTER THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME WITHOUT A PROBLEM. I RESERCHED ONLINE ABOUT IT AND FOUND OUT THAT IT IS A COMMON AND KNOWN ISSUE OF COOLAND MIXING WITH TRANSMISION FLUID THAT RUINS THE TRANSMISION DUE TO A DEFECT ON THE RADIATOR. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISION NEED IT TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS THE RADIATOR WHICH IT WOULD COST OVER $8,000. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY (8YEARS/80,000MILES) WAS ALREADY EXPIRED FOR 8 MONTHS WITH ONLY 73,800 MILES ON THE TRUCK, SO I HAD TO PAY $2,500 COPAY WHICH I FOUND IT OUTRAGEOUS FOR A KNOWN FACTORY DEFECT. AT LEAST THEY SHOULD LET OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES KNOWN THAT THIS COULD HAPPEND TO THEIR CARS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ALONG ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH WHEN MY ENGINE WAS REVVING UP TO ABOUT 3500 OR 4000 RPM BUT MY SPEED WAS DROPPING. I PULLED OVER TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD, STOPPED AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. HAD I NOT BEEN IN THE RIGHT LANE OF THE MAJOR INTERSTATE WHEN TRAFFIC WAS VERY LIGHT, I COULD HAVE HAD A MAJOR ACCIDENT. EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL EXCEPT THE LOW COOLANT LEVEL IN THE RESERVOIR BOTTLE. THERE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE SO THEN I PLACED THE TRUCK INTO DRIVE AND MOVED THE VEHICLE FORWARD. AS THE VEHICLE PICKED UP SPEED AND AT ABOUT THE 35 TO 40 MPH THE TRUCK ENGINE WOULD REV UP BUT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND NOT ALLOWING THE TRUCK TO MOVE ANY FASTER. WHEN I TOOK THE SCREW OFF THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TO SEE THAT FLUID LEVEL WAS TOO HIGH FOR THE PROPER LEVEL IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. ALSO, I NOTICED THAT THE FLUID HAD A GREYISH MILKY APPEARANCE WHICH IS A CLEAR INDICATION OF CONTAMINATION WITH A WATER BASED MATERIAL SUCH AS ENGINE COOLANT.I FIND THE FACT NISSAN CLEARLY KNEW THAT WAS A PROBLEM AND FAILED TO NOTIFY ME AS THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE ANNOYING. THEY WOULD RATHER PAY TO HAVE VEHICLE REPAIRED AFTER THE FACT THAN TAKE CARE OF A POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM BEFORE IT OCCURS. THIS IS EXTREMELY TROUBLESOME WHEN A MANUFACTURER PLACES PROFITS AND THE BOTTOM LINE AHEAD OF CUSTOMER SAFETY. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, I HAVE LEARNED THAT I COULD HAVE REPLACED THE FAULTY RADIATOR WITH ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM KOYORAD FOR ABOUT $120 RETAIL AND PREVENTED THIS PROBLEM. SO FOR A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS, NISSAN IS WILLING TO JEOPARDIZE MY SAFETY AND ALL OTHER NISSAN OWNERS SAFETY. AS THE NATIONAL SAFETY AGENCY, I IMPLORE YOU ACT IMMEDIATELY AND ORDER A RECALL ON THESE NISSAN VEHICLES BEFORE PEOPLE GET HURT. IT IS YOUR DUTY TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE OF THE NATION FROM SAFETY ISSUES WHEN MANUFACTURERS FAIL TO DO SO. *TR
NISSAN KNEW A DEFECT WAS IN THE TRANSMISSION COOLER BUILT INTO THE RADIATOR TRIED TO COVER IT UP OR AT LEAST NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE. NOW 9000 MILES AFTER NISSAN TOLD ME I WAS GOOD, I HAVE AN ISSUE WHERE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IS CONTAMINATED WITH COOLANT AND VICE VERSA. NISSAN SAYS THIS IS A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF VEHICLES. THIS WILL OCCUR WITH ALL VEHICLES WITH THE DEFECTIVE RADIATOR. THE COST OF REPAIR IS RUINING PEOPLES LIVES AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH SEIZING OF TRANSMISSIONS WHILE DRIVING. I CURRENTLY OWN A 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER. 3 MONTHS AGO, THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN STALLING ON ME EVERY SEVERAL DAYS, IT WOULD IMMEDIATELY TURN BACK ON. LAST MONTH IT BEGAN SHUTTING DOWN ON ME EVERY 2 DAYS, A FEW TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY, ALMOST GETTING REAR ENDED A COUPLE OF TIMES. IT WOULD TURN BACK ON, BUT AFTER SEVERAL TRIES AND AFTER 15-20 MIN WAIT. AFTER CHECKING RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE I NOTICED I HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT A RECALL FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A ECM RELAY, WHICH WAS CAUSING VEHICLES TO SHUTDOWN. THIS RELAY WAS REPLACED AND VEHICLE HAD BEEN RUNNING FINE FOR 3 WEEKS, BUT MY VEHICLE HAS NOW STARTED TO SPUTTER EVERY FEW DAYS. IT HAS SHUTDOWN ON ME TWICE IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED, BUT WAS REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH ON A COUNTY ROAD, THE VEHICLE BECAME AIRBORNE. WHEN THE TIRES MADE CONTACT WITH THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO OFF ROAD BOULDERS AND SHRUBBERY. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AGAIN. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED ARM AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,990.
I ONLY HAD A YEAR SINCE I PURCHASED MY USED 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND MY TRANSMISSION FAILED, WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER, ONE DAY I FELT THE GEARS WHERE GETTING A LITTLE STIFF EVERY TIME I SHIFTED AND THE NEXT THING I KNOW IM AT THE SHOP, AND IM BEING TOLD ITS GOING TO BE 4800.00 TO FIX MY TRANSMISSION, I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF TWO, STILL HAVE A LOAN ON THIS VEHICLE AND HAD TO SCRAP UP MONEY TO BUY AN ADDITIONAL CAR BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX IT. THEN I FIND OUT THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM BY NISSAN AND THEY REFUSE TO HELP OUT THE CONSUMER AND THEIR LAME WARRANTY COVERS NOTHING BECAUSE MY CAR EXCEEDS THE 100K MILE WARRANTY... THIS BLOWS, NEVER BUYING NISSAN AGAIN. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE LEAKS COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING A FAILURE. NISSAN HAS KNOWN OF THIS PROBLEM FOR MANY YEARS AND HAS NOT NOTIFIED OWNERS OF THE NEED TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR. *TR
ENGINE DIES WITHOUT WARNING. WHILE TRAVELING ON A BUSY ROAD, MY 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER'S ENGINE JUST STOPPED RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS NOT A NEW COMPLAINT, NUMEROUS NISSAN OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V517000 (RECALL) IS/WAS SUPPOSED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE BUT DOES NOT. NISSAN AND NHTSA HAVE FAILED TO ADEQUATELY ADDRESS THE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE ABOVE REFERENCED RECALL. IT IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM THAT OCCURS EVEN AFTER GOING TO NISSAN AND HAVING THE ECM RELAY WITHIN THE IPDM REPLACED PER THE RECALL. NISSAN AND NHTSA HAVE FAILED TO PROTECT THE GENERAL PUBLIC BY PERMITTING A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE TO BE MASKED BY AN INEFFECTIVE FIX. THERE IS NO DATA AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC TO SUPPORT NIISSAN'S OR NHTSA'S ASSERTION THAT A FAILED STEERING DIODE WITHIN THE ECM RELAY (LOCATED WITHIN THE IPDM) IS THE CAUSE OF THE REPORTED ENGINE STOP RUNNING INCIDENTS. THE REAL FIX, AND THE MORE COSTLY FIX FOR NISSAN, IS THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ECM AND POSSIBLY THE IPDM TOO. NISSAN POOLED THE WOOL OVER THE EYES OF NHTSA AND NHTSA WENT ALONG WITH THE MANUFACTURER - BOTH ENTITIES HAVE FAILED TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER FROM THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION. I'M LUCKY IN THAT MY 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION SO THAT WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURS I CAN MORE EASILY MAINTAIN SPEED AND CONTROL IN ORDER TO ROLL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I AM A COMPETENT VEHICLE MECHANIC AND ENGINEER BY EDUCATION AND TRAINING AND I HAVE SPENT UNTOLD HOURS METICULOUSLY TROUBLESHOOTING THIS PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE, AND AFTER INCORPORATING THE RECALL FIX AND NUMEROUS OTHER FIXES DIRECTLY RELATED, MY VEHICLE'S ENGINE CONTINUES TO STOP RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING. NHTSA NEEDS TO STEP UP IT'S WATCHDOG EFFORTS, RE-OPEN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V517000 AND FORCE NISSAN TO ADEQUATELY PROTECT THE CONSUMER FROM THIS ENGINE STOPS RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING SAFETY ISSUE. *JS

WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE MY TRUCK BEGAN A SMALL INTERMITTENT SHUDDER, AS IF DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. THIS OCCURRED 2 OR 3 TIMES. THE NEXT WEEK THE SHUDDERING RECURRED. SCHEDULED AND APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY VERY QUICKLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. THEY INDICATED IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE WHERE THE TRANSMISSION COOLER FAILS AND INTAKES RADIATOR COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE INDICATE THE TRANSMISSION WILL IN ALL LIKELY HOOD NEED TO BE REBUILT. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE RELATED TO COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION FROM THE RADIATOR OIL COOLANT ASSEMBLE. NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE COMPLETE COST OF THIS KNOW DEFECT. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION STARTED JERKING VERY BAD WHEN IT HIT 1700 RPM RANGE WHILE DRIVING, SO I SLOWED DOWN...SCARED. I WENT AND HAD IT CHECKED ONLY TO FIND OUT IT IS VERY COMMON WITH THIS TRUCK - FLUID IN TRANSMISSION CAUSED FROM THE TRANS FLUID RUNNING THROUGH THE RADIATOR AND THE HEAT EXCHANGE LEAKS WATER INTO THE TRANS FLUID. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM I LEARNED. THE REPAIR IS NOT COVERED BY NISSAN AND IS A 5000 DOLLAR REPAIR AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP, A TOTAL TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR REPLACEMENT IS NEEDED. *TR
THE RADIATOR FAILED CAUSING THE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO GET CONTAMINATED WITH COOLANT. THIS CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL RESULTING IN A NEARLY $5,000 BILL. *TR
PASSING OTHER VEHICLE ON I-45 TOWARDS DOWNTOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT STALLING. I WAS IN DANGER TO CRASH OTHERS WITH PROBLEMS TO GET OUR OF THE HIGH SPEED LINES. AT THAT MOMENT THE ENGINE TOTALLY STALLED ,. FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO REACH THE EXTREME RIGHT LINE AND PULL OUT WAITING FOR A COMPLETE STOP. I TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE BUT NO HELP. I DID NOT BELIEVE IT BUT WANTED BE SURE THAT NO LACK OF FUEL WAS THE ORIGIN BECAUSE I ALREADY HAD THE PROBLEM WITH FUEL SENDING UNIT PROBLEM WHICH DO NOT WORK PROPERLY TO ACCURATELY SHOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS ON THE FUEL TANK. I GOT SOME EXTRA FUEL. WE RETURNED AND POURED THE 1 GALLON CAN , THEN I TRIED TO STAR THE ENGINE. IT CRANKED BUT NO STARTING. I CALLED MY INSURANCE REQUESTING TOWING SERVICE . I TRIED TWO MORE TIMES AND AFTER THAT THE ENGINE STARTED ROUGHLY AND HESITATING. AFTER 2 MINUTES AND STABILIZED I DECIDED TO CONTINUE. I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO CANCEL THE TOWING SERVICE . DECIDED TO CONTINUE ON I-45 BUT ON THE EXTREME RIGHT HAND SIDE LINE. I ARRIVED HOME WITH NO OTHER ISSUES AND AFTER PARKING ON MY DRIVEWAY, SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE, THEN I TRIED TO RESTART IT BUT NOTHING . ONLY CRANKING GOOD BUT NO STARTING AT ALL. FINALLY AFTER SOME LIKE 10 SECONDS OF CRANKING, THE ENGINE HESITATED BUT STARTED. I TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE , THEY SCANNED IT AND GAVE ME THE CODES P043 FOR THE FAILED FUEL SENDIN UNIT ( FUEL LEVEL SENSOR ) AND THE CODE P0335 WHICH IS PROBLEM WITH THE CIRCUIT OR SIGNAL OR SENSOR CRANKSHAFT. I MADE SEARCH TO FIND IT AND TODAY, SUNDAY 29, AFTER SEVERAL HOURS, FINALLY REMOVED AND REPLACED IT. AFTER THIS THE TRUCK STARTS VERY GOOD AS USUALLY BEFORE THE STALLING EXPERIENCES. COST WAS SOME LIKE 23 DOLLAR BUT THE RISK IN WHAT I WAS AND EXPOSING OTHERS HAS NO PRICE. IS NECESSARY TO HAVE A CRASH OR FATAL RESULTS FOR YOU TO CONSIDER THIS A RECALL TO PROTECT OTHERS? *TR
EXITED SIDE STREET ONTO FRONTAGE ROAD, RIGHT TURN, CAR SHUDDERED AND STOPPED MOVING. TRANSMISSION WAS ERRATIC CAUSING CAR TO LURCH FORWARD AT TIMES AND REMAIN IMMOVABLE AT OTHERS. FORTUNATELY ONCOMING TRAFFIC WAS ABLE TO STOP AND ALLEVIATE A POSSIBLE T-BONE SCENARIO. WAS ABLE TO LIMP CAR THROUGH LIGHT AND INTO SERVICE STATION. *TR
APPARENTLY A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE RADIATOR LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION - CAUSING AN $3000 REPAIR TO A VEHICLE THAT WAS WELL-MAINTAINED. THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AND AFTER DIAGNOSTICS WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THIS WAS AN ISSUE THAT NISSAN KNEW ABOUT AND NEVER DID ANYTHING ABOUT. SPENT $3000 OF MY MONEY TO FIX SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED AND FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I LIKED NISSAN, BUT AFTER THIS; I MAY NOT BUY ANYMORE. MY 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER LE 4X4 RECORDED A P0463 (FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT) EARLIER THIS WEEK. IT CLEARED CAME BACK ONCE, AND NOW IS CONSTANT. AFTER FILLING THE TANK, THE FUEL GAUGE TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES TO REGISTER FULL. NOW MY FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL- IT SIMPLY DISPLAYS ZERO FUEL PRESENT IN THE TANK. I'VE ALREADY RAN OUT OF FUEL ONCE THIS WEEK, ON THE HIGHWAY. I'VE CONTACTED A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP, APPARENTLY NISSAN HAS A RECALL (OR TSB?) FOR CERTAIN NISSAN FRONTIERS- HOWEVER MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAS 133,000 MILES AND IS THUS NOT ELIGIBLE. CAN YOU PLEASE ASSIST? *TR

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 40MPH MY FRONTIER SUDDENLY CUT OFF , HAD NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. I WENT OFF THE ROAD AND HIT SOME TREES. MY INSURANCE FIXED MY TRUCK, EVEN AFTER I TOLD THEM AND THE BODY SHOP I WANTED IT CHECKED OUT FIRST. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL WITH A DEFECTIVE ECM RELAY. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME MY RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN SAID I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND DID NOTHING TO HELP BUT REPLACE THE PART THAT CAUSED MY ACCIDENT. THE LEAK/ RUPTURED PART SEEMS LIKE IT WAS FROM THE ACCIDENT BUT MY INSURANCE AND NISSAN BOTH ARE LEAVING ME OUT ON MY OWN. *TR
VIBRATION IN MOTOR LIKE DRIVING OVER GROOVED PAVEMENT - ON AND OFF AGAIN FOR MONTHS BEFORE REALIZING IT WAS THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT OCCURS IN THESE TRUCKS AND SUV'S. I DON'T WANT TO PAY $6,000 TO FIX A DEFECT. THEY SHOULD PAY NO MATTER WHEN IT HAPPENS. *TR

I WOULD OF NEVER BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IF I NEW ABOUT THIS HORRENDOUS OVERSIGHT IN THE MANUFACTURE OF THESE VEHICLES AND OF NISSANS CONTINUED LACK OF ATTENTION TO THIS COMMON AND VERY PAINFUL PROBLEM. *TR

2 MONTHS AGO I HAD A LEAK IN THE RADIATOR AND I FIXED IT. THEN AFTER THAT I START HAVING PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE SPEED DOES NOT CHANGE IMMEDIATELY AND WHEN IT CHANGE YOU FEEL LIKE SOME HAS PUSHED YOU FROM THE BACK. AND NOW THE CAR DOES NOT DRIVE ANYMORE. *TR

THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 131,000.
AFTER ACCELERATING UP TO 50MPH I LET UP OFF OF THE GAS AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION KICKED IN AGAIN AND CAUSED ME TO GO LUNGE FORWARD. I THOUGHT THAT I HAD BEEN REAR ENDED BUT THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME AND OBVIOUSLY NO DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. IT FELT AS IF I HAD A STANDARD AND HAD REVVED UP THE ENGINE AND POPPED THE CLUTCH. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY IF I HAD BEEN AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER. NISSAN HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OUT FOR THIS BUT IT ONLY COVERED UP TO 100,000 MILES, ALTHOUGH THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS BEING A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. I TOOK THIS TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND HAD TO PAY THEM $119 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND TELL ME THAT IT WOULD COST ME $5600.00 PLUS TAX. I DON'T HAVE THIS TO PAY ON A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT THAT CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD. I HOPE NO ONE IS KILLED BEFORE NISSAN IS MADE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER AND ALMOST STALLED. THIS HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, APPROX. 50MPH. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED, THE SES LIGHT AND SLIP LIGHT CAME ON. THIS VEHICLE WAS COVERED BY A RECALL FOR THE ECM THAT CAUSED A SIMILAR ISSUE. THE ECM WAS REPLACED BY A CERTIFIED NISSAN SERVICE CENTER. THE REPLACEMENT WAS DONE 12/29/10. NOW, IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. A BIT OF RESEARCH SHOWS THAT NISSAN HAS ISSUED A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR CAMSHAFT SENSORS THAT CAUSE A VERY SIMILAR PROBLEM. HOWEVER, BECAUSE MY VIN IS NOT CURRENTLY UNDER THAT RECALL, I CAN'T HAVE NISSAN REPLACE THEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE LOOSES POWER THEN STALLS WHILE TRAVELING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT 50-60 MPH. THAT CAN CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND AFFECT NOT ONLY MYSELF BUT OTHERS. I FEEL NISSAN SHOULD EXPAND THEIR RECALL TO INCLUDE NISSAN FRONTIERS, NOT JUST ALTIMA, ETC. NISSAN HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND THEY HAVE OPENED A CASE FILE #[XXX]. NO RESOLUTION HAS BEEN OFFERED BY THEM. WAS TOLD THAT COOLANT FROM A CRACKED RADIATOR HAD RUINED THE TRANSMISSION AND REPAIR WOULD BE $5700.00. CAR WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION AND ALWAYS DEALER MAINTAINED. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING AS FAR AS WARRANTY. THEY GAVE ME NISSAN NORTH AMERICA'S NUMBER. THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. THIS IS A DEFECT. NOT A WORN OUT PART. IT CORRESPONDS WITH NISSAN'S TECHNICAL BULLETIN EL07-027B, REFERENCE NTB07-069B. AFTER FILLING THE TANK, THE FUEL GUAGE TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES TO REGISTER FULL. NOW MY FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL- IT SIMPLY DISPLAYS ZERO FUEL PRESENT IN THE TANK. RADIATOR RUPTURED AND COOLANT LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND HAD TO BE FIXED. TRANSMISSION PERFORMANCE DECLINED AND THEN COULD NOT DRIVE VEHICLE. *TR
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER/STALLING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS ANTI-SLIP LIGHT. TOOK VEHICLE SAME DAY TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP. TRUCK ACTUALLY STALLED ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP HOWEVER I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN. DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A BAD CAM SHAFT SENSOR. SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THEY ALSO MENTIONED THAT TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS CONTAMINATED WITH ENGINE COOLANT. SUGGESTED REPAIR WAS TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION-$4800. I CHOSE TO JUST REPLACE THE CAM SENSOR. THREE DAYS LATER, 8/9, LOST POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEED. RADIATOR AND HOSES LEAKED AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. AGAIN DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED REPLACING THE RADIATOR AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION. REPLACED RADIATOR AND HOSES, FLUSHED TRANSMISSION TWICE. I PLAN TO DISPOSE THE TRUCK. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS PRIOR TO THESE TWO INCIDENTS. MY OPINION IS THAT THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURING/ENGINEERING DEFECT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR AXLE SEAL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
VEHICLE WILL STALL WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND NOT RESTART FOR A FEW MINUTES. MOTOR ACTS LIKE IT'S NOT GETTING ENOUGH GAS, LIGHTS ON DASH FLASH. ISSUE IS WITH IDPM MODULE. THE ENTIRE IPDM HAS TO BE CHANGED, RELAYS ARE BURNING UP DUE TO CIRCUITRY IN THE UNIT HAVING TOO HIGH OF RESISTANCE, NOT BEING ABLE TO CARRY ENOUGH CURRENT. PARTS ARE DEFECTIVE AND NISSAN SHOULD BE RECALLING THESE PARTS BEFORE SERIOUS BODILY HARM IS DONE. *TR
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK, WHEN MY SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. THE NEXT DAY, I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM TOWN WHEN MY TRUCK DIED. IT TOOK ME A FEW MINUTES TO GET IT TO START. I HAD THE OIL CHANGED THURSDAY. ON MY WAY HOME, I RAN BY THE LOCAL AUTOZONE, TO HAVE MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CHECKED OUT. IT SHOWED UP THAT THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR IS OUT. WHILE LOOKING THROUGH THE WEB, I SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP. *TR
