NISSAN FRONTIER TRANSMISSION REVERSE WENT OUT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.
CROSS-CONTAMINATION BETWEEN AMY FREEZE IN TRANSMISSION FLUID. TRANSMISSION MECHANIC QUOTED AT $4000 TO REPLACE FIX PROBLEM
FUEL GUAGE DOESN'T WORK CORRECTLY. SOMETIMES IT SHOW THE RIGHT LEVEL AND OTHER TIMES IT SHOWS EMPTY OR SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN. RAN OUT OF FUEL THE OTHER DAY ON THE HIGHWAY. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS FOR 2006 -2008, BUT IT SAYS MY VIN NUMBER DOESN'T HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS.
RADIATOR LEAKED FLUID INTO THE TRANSMISSION CASE CAUSING TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 146000 MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WILE ON THE HIGHWAY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEEDS REPLACEMENT FOR 5000 DOLLARS.
THE RADIATOR IS DEFECTIVE AND LET'S THE ANTI-FREZEE MIX WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES WERE VERY FOGGY AND THE BULBS WERE NOT VISIBLE. THE FAILURE BEGAN A YEAR AGO AND WORSENED OVER TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION. DRIVING CONDITION RESULTED IN SUDDEN HARD DOWNSHIFTS AND EVENTUALLY LED TO A NO START CONDITION. UPON INSPECTING, THE AT CONTROL FUSE WAS BLOWN AND WHEN REPLACED THE VEHICLE CRANKED, ONLY TO HAVE THE FUSE BLOW AGAIN. THE TRANSMISSION, LIKELY NEED TO BE REPLACED TO REMEDY THE ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN AND UNFORTUNATELY, LITTLE HAS BEEN DONE TO HOLD THE MANUFACTURER ACCOUNTABLE.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, HAD CHECKED BY NISSAN DEALERSHIP, SAID ANTIFREEZE IN TRANSMISSION CAUSED BY BAD LINES IN RADIATOR, COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN,SAID NISSAN HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS PROBLEM, BUT RAN OUT, WOULD COST 6,000 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM
I BOUGHT A 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER FROM A CAR DEALERSHIP IN BOISE IDAHO CALLED LARRY H MILLER I PURCHASE A VEHICLE AND ABOUT A MONTH LATER I NOTICED IT WAS MAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR END COME TO FIND OUT WHAT IS THE TRANSMISSION OF THE RADIATOR FALTERS AND I HAD COOLANT IN MY RADIATOR AND MY RADIATOR COOLANT IN MY TRANSMISSION I CALLED LARRY H MILLER AND THERE WAS A $500 COPAY TO PAY BEFORE THEY WOULD EVEN LOOK AT IT I DID NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY STICKING AROUND IT'S NOT IN MY PAPERWORK ANYWHERE ABOUT A $500 COPAY IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AT THE TIME OF FAULT AND APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS LATER THE TRUCK WENT TOTALLY BLANK TRANSMISSION WENT TOTALLY OUT I FROM WHEN I UNDERSTAND I'M STUCK WITH IT I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF MESON WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO TO PAY FOR THE TRANSMISSION SIT IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I'M BEING GARNISHED FOR THE VEHICLE AS WE SPEAK. THE NOISE THAT IT WOULD MAKE HIS AS IF SOMEBODY WOULD RAN OVER A RUMBLE STRIP AND THAT NOISE STARTED BETWEEN 43 AND 48 MILES AN HOUR
CAR STUTTERS WHEN I ACCELERATE WHIL GOING UPHILL BETWEEN 40 AND 60 MILES AN HOUR. DEALERSHIP MECHANIC REPORTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID HAD BEEN CONTAMINATED BY THE RADIATOR FAILING. THERE ARE 102,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP IS CHARGING $6,100 TO REPAIR A TRUCK THAT IS WORTH LESS THAN THAT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT AS I AM 2,000 MILES PAST THE WARRANTY, THEY WILL NOT DISCOUNT THE PRICE OF REPAIR, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE. NEITHER THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK FROM OR THE DEALER PERFORMING MAINTENANCE FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS HAS EVER MENTIONED OR CHECKED FOR THE ISSUE.
FUEL GAUGE OPERATING ERRATIC SHOWING EMPTY WHEN I FILL UP AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT COMING ON THEN AFTER DRIVING IT SHOWS A DIFFERENT READING. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS IN IT AT ANY TIME BECAUSE GAUGE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY
TAKATA RECALL TRANSMISSION STOP PULLING I HAVE WATER IN MY TRANSMISSION NO WARNING AT ALL I WAS AT A RED LIGHT AND IT JUST STOP GOING??
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION COOLER THAT IS INTERNAL TO THE RADIATOR LEAKED COOLANT INTO THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CAUSING EXCESSIVE FRICTION DESTROYING IT. NISSAN KNEW OF THE PROBLEM YET FAILED TO WARN OWNERS THAT THEY COULD AVOID A $6000 REPAIR BY REPLACING THE KNOW DEFECTIVE RADIATOR FOR LESS THAN $1000. NISSAN OFFERED A PRORATED WARRANTY EXTENSION OF UP TO 10 YRS/90,000 MILES (MINE IS A 2007 WITH 88934 SO NOT COVERED) BUT ONLY COVERING A SMALL PORTION OF THE COST TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR FAILING TO WARN OWNERS THEY COULD HAVE AVOIDED THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. A MANUFACTURE SHOULD HAVE A DUTY TO WARN CONSUMERS IN THIS CASE. THIS COULD CAUSE A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE FAILURE OCCURRED IN A CRITICAL SITUATION. IN MY CASE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING ON STATE HIGHWAY 460 NEAR NARROWS, VIRGINIA.
AIR BAGS LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND TRANSMISIN CODE 1774 WAS ON RECALL, MY TRANSMISION BROKE DOWN
THE AIR BAG LIGHT IN THE DASH BORD IS BEEN BLINKING FOR LONG TIME, I BEEN TAKING TO THE MECHANIC TO RESET BUT ONLY WORK FOR A LITTLE TIME AND START BLINKING AGAIN. THE MECHANIC SUGEST ME TO CHECK IFTHERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AND I FOUND ONE 08V690000 BUT MY VIN # IS NOT INCLUDED, THIS PROBLEM IS SERIOUS IN CASE OF ACCIDENT THE BAG IS NOT GOING TO DEPLOY.
TAKATA RECALL, THE FRONTIER TORIC CONVERTER INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION STARTED VIBRATING AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT SHIFTING SMOOTHLY. TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS MILKY LOOKING ACCORDING TO NAPA WHEN THEY CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND THE VEHICLE SPEED WOULD NOT EXCEED 30 MPH. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,704.
COOLANT CROSS CONTAMINATED RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION AND MY TIMING CHAIN NEED TO BE REPLACED. ONLY HAVE 83,000
MY 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER CREW CAB HAS 107K MILES AND FOR UNKNOWN REASONS THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL NOT RESET. THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS MAY NOT WORK IN AN ACCIDENT. ALSO THE FUEL GAUGE IS MALFUNCTIONING.
KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR, CROSS CONTAMINATION RADIATOR TO TRANSMISSION.. COOLANT LEAK INTO TRANSMISSION. 6MONTHS OVER WARRANTY.
THE AIRBAG STARTED FLASHING AND AROUND 35-40 MPH IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE HITTING RUMBLE STRIPS. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THE RADIATOR FLUID IS MIXING IN THE TRANSMISSION. REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR IS OVER $4,500.
TRANSMISSION WENT INTO LIMP MODE LEAVING DRIVEWAY. CLEARED BY SHUTTING OFF & RESTART. DID THIS TWICE THEN WOULD NOT RESET. TOOK TO SHOP & DIAGNOSED CONTAMINATED TRANNY FLUID & RUINED TRANSMISSION. ONE PART REPLACED WAS NISSAN OEM TCM. THREE MONTHS AFTER REBUILD SAME THING HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY BUT COULD NOT CLEAR LIMP MODE. $400 TOW TO SHOP BUT THEY SAID ALL TESTED AND PASSED, RESET CODES. HAPPENED AGAIN ON HIGHWAY AND DROVE TO NISSAN DEALER IN FLAGSTAFF. THEY DIAGNOSED LACK OF COMMUNICATION WITH TCM AND SAID IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN, AND TO GET TO SHOP FOR DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. THE THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY DROVE SLOW IN LIMP MODE BACK TO ORIGNIAL SHOP THAT REBUILT TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION SHOP AFTER DIAGNOSTIC SAID OEM TCM FAILED. AVONDALE NISSAN SUPPLIED SHOP WITH NEW TCM BUT ONLY AFTER FAILED TCM WAS RETURNED. TOTAL EXPENSES OVER $7000 AND LOSS OF VEHICLE USE FOR 10 DAYS WHEN TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT AND 26 CALENDAR DAYS SECOND TIME DUE TO DIFFICULTY IN SHOP DETERMINING EXACTLY WHAT FAILED BECAUSE NISSAN SAID TCM NOT PRONE TO FAILURE HISTORY.
IN JANUARY 2018 MY NISSAN WAS RUNNING GREAT ....DROVE TO WORK AND WHEN I CAME OUT TO GO HOME THE TRUCK WOULDN'T START..MY TRUCK HAS BEEN SITTING SINCE THEN..CANT AFFORD A NEW TRANSMISSION BUT I WAS TOLD IT IS THE MAIN BOARD TO THE TRANSMISSION..I HAVE POWER BUT IT WILL NOT START.THE VEHICLE REMAINS IN MY GARAGE...I HAD NO WARNING BEFORE THE THIS HAPPENED.HAD TO PAY A TOW FEE STRAIGHT TO NISSAN DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY BATTERY AND STARTER..WE \REPLACED BOTH AND STILL NOTHING.I SURE HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME BECAUSE THE COST TO FIX THE PROBLEM AS I WAS TOLD WAS GONNA BE AROUND $4500 THEY WANNA REPLACE THE TRANMISSION
IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING DOWN A BUSY PUBLIC HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION STARTS TO GO OUT WITH NO SIGNS LEADING UP TO FAILURE.

WHILE IN TRAFFIC ON A HILL, THE VEHICLE STALLED DUE TO LACK OF FUEL; HOWEVER, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED A QUARTER TANK OF FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT FAILED TO START. AN UNKNOWN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT ANTIFREEZE LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER (NISSAN GADSDEN IN GADSDEN, ALABAMA) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
OUR 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER'S RADIATOR LEAKED INTO OUR TRANSMISSION AND RUINED OUR TRANSMISSION AT 110,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE STARTED SLIPPING AND STUTTERING CHANGING GEARS WHILE WE WERE DRIVING AND IT THEN LOCKED UP WHEN WE PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND WE COULD NOT SHIFT THE CAR INTO GEAR. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED WHERE THE SHOP IS TELLING US IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR. WHEN I CALLED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, BUT I AM OUT OF LUCK BECAUSE IT IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE REPAIR IS OVER A $5200 FIX. THIS IS A DIRECT RESULT OF A BAD MANUFACTURED RADIATOR, NO FAULT OF OUR OWN, AND IT HAS NOW RUINED OUR TRUCK.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO RADIATOR FAILURE AND COOLANT CONTAMINATION

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN OF ELK GROVE (8590 LAGUNA GROVE DR, ELK GROVE, CA 95757, (916) 405-5000) TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V690000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR OR SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS NEEDED PRIOR TO THE RECALL REMEDY BEING PERFORMED. THE CONTACT DECLINED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS NOT ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO ABORTING THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 28367938. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS THE DEALER'S DISCRETION AS TO THE NEXT STEPS TO BE TAKEN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
DRIVERS AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. ALSO TRANSMISSION SLIPPING ANTI-FREEZE MIXING WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID.
THE AIRBAG SENSOR BEGAN FLASHING WHEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND THE ERROR CODE IS FOR THE PASSENGER SEATBELT. THE NON-DEALER MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO REPAIR AND THE AIRBAGS ARE DEACTIVATED. THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE FAILED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. THE ECM IS NOT AVAILABLE FROM NISSAN OR AFTER MARKET FOR THIS 10 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. THE ECM CANNOT BE REBUILT. THUS, THIS LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE IN OTHERWISE EXCELLENT CONDITION IS NOW JUNK. NISSAN HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE EXPECTED VEHICLE RELIABILITY AND CONSUMER PROTECTIONS. APPARENTLY, NISSAN CEASED MANUFACTURE (INCLUDING AFTER MARKET) OF THIS CRITICAL ENGINE COMPONENT SOON AFTER INITIAL SALE WITHOUT MAKING ANY PROVISIONS FOR REPLACEMENT UPON FAILURE. I AM TOLD THAT THIS IS A STANDARD BUSINESS PRACTICE FOR NISSAN.
RADIATOR LEAKS INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING FAILURE. THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL ENTERING 45 MPH TRAFFIC ON A 4 LANE CITY STREET LEAVING ME STRANDED AND BLOCKING TRAFFIC. IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP AND WILL COST 3000.00.
TRANSMISSION CONTAMINATED WITH ENGINE COOLANT @ 81,000 MILES. CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE, ENGINE OVERHEATED AND THE VEHICLE QUIT MOVING. OCCURRED WHILE IN MOTION ON A RURAL ROAD AND VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED HOME.
WHEN DRIVING MY 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER WITH A 191000 MILES AND TRUCK STARTS TO SLOW DOWN, IT WOULD DOWN SHIFT ROUGH. MADE APPT FOR NEXT DAY WITH MECHANIC. IT STILL BEING THE SAME DAY I DROVE MY SON TO THE PARK AND CAME TO A STOP , TRUCK DOWN SHIFT WAS ROUGH AGAIN AND SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON, PUSHED ON GAS AND TRUCK FELT LIKE IT LOST POWER. GOT TO PARK A BLOCK AWAY, TURNED TRUCK OFF AND IT NEVER STARTED AGAIN. TOWED TO A MECHANIC . $1100 LATER, MECHANIC SAYS TOW IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC BECAUSE THE MODULAR INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT WORKING AND THEY CAN TELL WHAT'S WRONG. I GET IT TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER FOR $90 AND $450(3HRS OF LABOR TO DIAGNOSE TRUCK) LATER, NISSAN SAID RADIATOR FLUID CROSS CONTAMINATED WITH TRANSMISSION AND RUINED IT. ALSO FOUND TRANSMISSION FLUID AND ENGINE OIL IN RADIATOR. SO THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR $6800. NISSAN DEALER SENDS ME SERVICE COUPONS, FLYERS TO TRADE THE FRONTIER FOR NEWER A MODEL TO MY HOUSE. THEY ALSO TEXT AND CALL. IN 2012 THEY SETTLED TO EXTEND POWER TRAIN WARRANTY BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. WHY WASN'T I INFORMED OF PREVENTATIVE MAINTENCE ON A KNOWN DEFECT.
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT CHANGE GEAR PROPERLY. IT IS SLOW IN CHANGING GEAR AND THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" BLINKS.
A CRACK CAME IN THE RADIATOR, FORCING COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION, DAMAGING THE TRANSMISSION.
TAKATA RECALL. I WENT TO GO DO A TRANSMISSION FLUSH. AND MECHANIC SAYS HE CANT FLUSH IT CAUSE THERES COOLANT MIXED IN WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID. THEN ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING HOME.
COOLANT GOT MIXED IN WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID AND TRUCK STOPPED RUNNING.
MY TRANSMISIN STOP WORKING A DONT NO THA PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING ON A PAVED STATE HIGHWAY AT APRX 50MPH, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AND RPM'S WENT UP. MUCH LIKE THE TRANSMISSION HAD DOWNSHIFTED. THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANS. COULDN'T MANUALLY GET IT BACK TO NORMAL BY DOWNSHIFTING OR PUTTING IT INTO NEUTRAL. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT WAS NOW LIT. PULLED OVER, STOPPED AND TURNED OFF ENGINE. UNDER THE HOOD THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS SIGN OF LEAKING, BROKEN BELTS OR SMOKE. RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND DROVE HOME APRX 10 MILES WITH NO PROBLEM, BUT SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT STILL ON. DROVE IT THE NEXT DAY TO AUTOZONE (5MILES TOTAL) AND SHOWED CODES P1774 AND P0717. RESEARCHING THE CODES LED ME TO ALL THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT PROBLEMS DUE TO A FAILURE OF THE TRANS FLUID COOLER INSIDE THE RADIATOR WHICH MIXES THAT OIL WITH COOLANT AND DESTROYS COMPONENTS INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION AND REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. NOW I HAVE TO FIGURE WHAT TO DO FACING A $6000 REPAIR BILL ON A $10000 VEHICLE. THIS HAD ME LOSING SPEED IN A TRAFFIC SITUATION THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS AND STRANDING US AS AN ELDERLY COUPLE WITH A DISABLED PERSON IN THE ARIZONA DESERT. MONEY ASIDE, IT'S PRETTY SAD TO FIND OUT THAT THE NHTSA AND NISSAN HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS AND NEITHER HAS TAKEN ANY PROACTIVE STEPS TO INFORM OR WARN THE OWNERS. JUST A LOT OF COLLECTING INFO AND WAITING FOR THE VEHICLES TO BE CARTED OFF AS JUNK AND THE PROBLEM SWEPT UNDER THE RUG. THANKS A LOT FOR STALLING FOR YEARS AND DOING NOTHING. SAFETY DOESN'T JUST PERTAIN TO HOW MANY PEOPLE DIED! NOT EXACTLY THE RIGHT THING TO DO!
I OWN A 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER LE CREW CAB 4X4 AND I HAVE OWNED SINCE IT HAS HAD 72,000 MILES ON IT. LAST MONDAY WHILE DRIVING TO WORK MY TRUCK SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF HWY 53 AND LOCKED UP THE STEERING AND ALMOST TOOK MY LIFE. DUE TO THE FACT NISSAN HAS IGNORED THEIR RADIATORS ARE FAULTY LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION, I AM LEFT WITH MY TRUCK SITTING IN THE YARD. I AM A 22 YEAR OLD MALE WITH 2 JOBS AND A FULL TIME STUDENT WITHOUT A WAY TO CONTINUE TO PURSE MY DREAM OF BECOMING A PHYSICAL THERAPIST.
FUEL GAUGE SPORADICALLY MEASURES INCORRECTLY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WHEN READINGS ARE INCORRECT, THEN GOES OFF. BOTH WHILE STATIONARY OR DRIVING, ON A MIX OF CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. SIMILAR MODELS/ MODEL YEARS MAY HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED FOR SIMILAR ISSUES (HTTP://WWW.CONSUMERREPORTS.ORG/CRO/NEWS/2010/03/NISSAN-RECALLS-OVER-500-000-VEHICLES-FOR-BRAKE-FUEL-GAUGE-CONCERNS/INDEX.HTM). WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANY RECALL.
A KNOWN ISSUE WAS NEVER CORRECTED WITH MY VEHICLE CAUSING THE COOLANT TO LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN KNEW OF THE PROBLEM AND NEVER DID ANYTHING TO NOTIFY ME. YET THEY STILL SEND ME LETTERS ASKING IF I WOULD LIKE TO TRADE IN MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE BROKE DOWN IN THER EXACT WAY THEY DESCRIBED IT WOULD AND STILL, THEY WERE UNWILLING TO HELP WITH REPAIRS.
FUEL GAUGE ERRATIC. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. I FILLED TRUCK W GAS & WAS DRIVING ON HWY 160 & NOTICED FUEL GAUGE LIGHT ON & GAUGE ON EMPTY. THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS FOR TRUCKS LIKE MINE FOR FUEL LEVEL SENSOR SENDING UNIT
MY TRUCKS STEERING SYSTEM IS MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN TURNING AND GOING OVER BUMPS AT LOW SPEED. WHEN MY TRUCK IS RAISED UP AND I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL THERE IS NO NOISE. WHEN I LOWER IT DOWN ON THE GROUND AND TURN THE WHEEL WHEN PARKED IT MAKES THE LOUD NOISE. I CHECKED RECALLS AND THERE SEEMS TO BE ONE FOR SOME STEERING WHEEL ISSUE, BUT WHEN I CALLED NISSAN THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THAT RECALL. AFTER READING CUSTOMER REVIEWS, MY VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT THOSE CUSTOMERS VEHICLES WERE HAVING THAT WERE AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. I AM CURIOUS IF NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS FILED FOR THIS SPECIFIC YEAR. BECAUSE WHY WOULD MY VEHICLE STEERING BE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE VEHICLES THAT WERE HAVING THAT WERE LISTED ON THE RECALL. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AND RISK HAVING MY STEERING GO OUT BECAUSE OF A DEFECTED PART. MY VEHICLE IS BABIED AND LOOKS LIKE BRAND NEW STILL. ALWAYS BEEN KEPT INSIDE GARAGE DURING WINTER . THIS IS THE FIRST WINTER IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN SNOW AND WE HAVE HAD SNOW ONLY A COUPLE TIMES.
RADIATOR LEAK RESULTED IN REPLACING RADIATOR AND DAMAGED TRANSMISSION
RADIATOR BROKE AND MIXED FLUIDS- BOTH TRANI AND RADIATOR. TRANI BROKE AS A RESULT OF IT. I SPENT 5K TO FIX. I HAD A WARRANTY I PURCHASED FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WOULD HONOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE IT WAS CAUSED BY THE RADIATOR.
DEFECTIVE RADIATOR HOSE CAUSED COOLANT FLUID TO SEEP INTO THE TRANSMISSION, DAMAGING IT ENTIRELY. COST OF REPAIRS WERE $4200.00. NISSAN NEGLECTED TO NOTIFY OWNERS OF DEFECTIVE PART AND THE RECALL FOR 2005-2010 MODELS. OVER 2000 COMPLAINTS WERE FILED BEFORE NISSAN TOOK CORRECTIVE ACTION, WHICH INCLUDED EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 100,000 MILES. HOWEVER, MECHANICAL ISSUES WILL NOT MANIFEST UNTIL WELL OVER 100,000 MILES THUS ABSOLVING NISSAN FROM ANY RESPONSIBILITY OR OWNERSHIP.
