TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO COOLANT MIXED WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID. *TR
STARTED TO NOTICE HEAT NOT WORKING AT AN IDLE BUT WHEN ACCELERATED HEAT WAS WORKING FINE. I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING ABOUT IT SEEING AS IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE. THEN I RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR A SUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS CAUSED BY TRANSMISSION COOLING LINE LEAKING CAUSING COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID TO MIX AND TRANSMISSION FAILING. I NOW HAVE 102,000 MILES ON MY FRONTIER AND THE SETTLEMENT NISSAN OFFERS WILL NOT COVER ME EVEN THOUGH VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THE HEAT ISSUE IS CAUSED BY THE LEAK AS WELL. NISSAN SHOULD HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE NOT A SETTLEMENT WHICH ONLY COVERS PEOPLE WHO NEVER DRIVE THEIR VEHICLE. 8 YEAR 80,000 MILE EXTENSION IS A JOKE. NOW I WILL HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET TO REPAIR MY ONLY VEHICLE THAT I HAVE BEFORE FURTHER DAMAGE IS DONE TO THE TRANSMISSION. IT STUTTERS AT THE MOMENT HOPEFULLY IT WONT COMPLETELY FAIL BEFORE I CAN AFFORD TO REPAIR IT. *TR
I RECEIVED A LETTER FOR A SETTLEMENT OFFER FROM NISSAN ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION COOLER FAILURE WHICH LEADS TO TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I STARTED TO RESEARCH WHAT WAS WRONG AND WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT IT SEEING AS MY FRONTIER HAS 102,000 MILES ON IT AND IS NOT COVERED BY THE SETTLEMENT OFFER. AS I DID SOME RESEARCH I FOUND OUT ABOUT A SYMPTOM BEFORE TRANSMISSION FAILURE OCCURS WHICH IS AT AN IDLE YOU HAVE A LOSS OF HEAT UNTIL YOU REV THE ENGINE OR START TO ACCELERATE AND HEAT RETURNS. I NOTICED THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED AROUND NOVEMBER 2012 WHILE I HAD LEFT MY TRUCK RUNNING WHILE PARKED FOR A FEW MINUTES WHICH I NORMALLY DO NOT DO. I STARTED TO DRIVE AND THE HEAT WAS WORKING AGAIN SO I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A THERMOSTAT STICKING AND WATCHED MY VEHICLE FOR THE SIGNS OF THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN. I DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING HAPPEN AGAIN BECAUSE I DO NOT LET MY TRUCK SIT IDLE LONG ENOUGH UNTIL I TESTED IT TODAY AND WHEN I LET IT SIT IDLE FOR A MINUTE THE HEAT STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY AND RETURNED TO NORMAL FUNCTION WHEN I STARTED DRIVING IT. I AM TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM BEFORE IT GETS WORSE BUT I DO NOT KNOW IF I WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD IT. SO AS FOR THE TIME BEING I WILL HAVE TO DRIVE MY ONLY VEHICLE TO WORK AND HOPE THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT FAIL COMPLETELY AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE. HOPEFULLY I CAN FIND A AFFORDABLE REPAIR OR NISSAN WILL BE FORCED TO REPAIR IT BEFORE SOMEONE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS HAS THIS HAPPEN AND US CONSUMERS SUFFER BODILY INJURY OR FATALITIES BEFORE THEY WILL DO THE HONORABLE THING AND ADMIT THEIR VEHICLE HAS FAULTY MATERIALS USED IN ITS CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR THEM. ONLY THEY WILL SUFFER IN THE END IF THEY DO NOTHING. *TR
THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED AN AIRBAG FLASHING LIGHT ON THE DASH AS A FAULTY SEAT BELT RETRACTOR AT ABOUT 33,000 MILES AND TOOK CORRECTIVE ACTION. THEY INSISTED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED AND SAID THAT IT IS NOW COVERED UNDER PARTS WARRANTY. OVER THE NEXT 15,000 TO 20,000 MILES THE FIXED IT TWO MORE TIMES AS A SEAT BELT RETRACTOR, HOWEVER THE LAST TIME THE LIGHT BEGAN TO BLINK I TOOK THE VEHICLE AND THEY GAVE ME A NEW CAUSE OF THE LIGHT. I WAS THEN TOLD IT WAS THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR AND THAT IT WAS FAULTY AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME 1200 DOLLARS TO FIX. I KNOW THAT NISSAN HAS RECENT PROBLEMS WITH AIR BAGS AND IN THE PAST THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE EAST COAST CONCERNING FRONTIER AIRBAGS. I WOULD GUESS THAT NISSAN CORP. HAS LARGER ISSUE WITH AIR BAGS AND HAS BEEN COVERING THEIR TRACKS FOR YEARS. I KNOW I CAN'T AFFORD THE $1200 REPAIR BILL TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND THAT NOW I AM RELUCTANT TO HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. I DOUBT THAT YOUR AGENCY WILL HAVE A REMEDY FOR THIS PROBLEM, AS I HAVE LITTLE FAITH IN AN AGENCY OF GOVERNMENT TAKING ON A CORPORATION AS LARGE AS NISSAN. *TR
I FILLED UP MY TRUCK ONE DAY FOR VACATION N RIGHT AFTER I TURN ON MY TRUCK IT READ FULL THEN I PARKED IT TO LOAD UP SUIT CASES THEN I TURN IT BACK THE LIGHT CAME AND WAS READING EMPTY THEN MY SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHEN HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AXLE SEALS FAILED. AS A RESULT, FLUID LEAKED AND THE BRAKES WERE DAMAGED. THE DEALER STATED THE BRAKES, REAR AXLE, AND SEALS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,889 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,300. TRANS COOLER RUPTURED WITHIN RADIATOR CAUSING WATER/COOLANT TO MIX WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID DESTROYING TRANSMISSION. *TR
LEFT WORK ABOUT 4 DAYS AGO AT NIGHT WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE TRUCK CUT OUT ON ME(NO GAS PEDAL) SO I LOOK DOWN AT THE VOLTAGE GAUGE AND ITS READING ABOUT 10V..... SO I THOUGHT TO MYSELF "OK WELL MAYBE THE ALTERNATOR FINALLY WENT AFTER ALL THE [XXX]I PUT IT THROUGH." WENT TO PULL OVER AND HERE IS WHERE IT GETS WEIRD, I WENT TO HIT THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, I COASTED TO THE SLOW LANE AND TURNED MY ACC. OFF AND GOT IT BACK HOME SAFELY. LONG STORY SHORT I TESTED THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY, BOTH OF WHICH WERE SHORTED/OLD/DEAD.... REPLACED BOTH AT THE TUNE OF $191 FOR THE ALTERNATOR AND $70 FOR THE BATTERY. NOW, I HOOKED EVERYTHING UP TODAY. STARTED THE TRUCK... VOLT GAUGE IS BACK AT 10V... THEN I SEE A SMALL AMOUNT OF SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD, SHUT THE TRUCK OFF TO FIND THAT THE BRAKE LINES GOING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER TO THE ABS MODULE ARE SMOKING... AND THE LINES LEAVING THE MODULE ARE AS WELL. I COOLED EVERYTHING DOWN, WENT INSIDE TO GRAB A DRINK (4-5 MIN) AND CAME BACK OUT AND THE TRUCK WAS COMPLETELY DEAD... VENT CONTROL VALVE FAILED CAUSING VEHICLE TO BE UNABLE TO BE FILLED WITH FUEL. PN: 14935-J008 FUEL SPILLS VIOLENTLY OUT OF VEHICLE FILLER PORT !!. FUEL RUNS DOWN SIDE OF VEHICLE ONTO GROUND. FUEL SPRAYS ALL OVER PERSON TRYING TO FUEL VEHICLE. FAILED TRANSMISSION TWICE DUE TO LEAK OF COOLANT CAUSED BY RADIATOR LEAK. OCCURRED AT 50K AND 64K MILES. FIRST FAILURE CAUSED A DELAY AFTER PRESSING ACCELERATOR ALLOWING ENGINE TO REV BEFORE ENGAGING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. BOTH REPLACEMENTS COVERED BY WARRANTY. *TR

CONSUMER REQUEST THAT NHTSA OPEN,OR REOPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE LEAKING OF REAR AXLE SEALS ISSUE, WHICH RESULTS IN AXLE LUBRICANT SPRAYING ONTO AND THUS DISABLING THE BRAKE DISC AND CALIPER. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HIS VEHICLE WAS DISABLED BY THE DEFECT IN SEPTEMBER 2011. *JB

LEFT REAR AXLE SEAL FAILED AND GREASE FROM AXLE COATED CALIPER AND BRAKE DISC, RENDERING BRAKING INEFFECTIVE ON THAT WHEEL. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN WITH A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (NTB100008) ISSUED, BUT NISSAN ONLY SELECTIVELY APPLIES THE REPAIR. GREASE COATING THE BRAKE APPEARS VISUALLY THE SAME AS BRAKE DUST, AND OWNER'S MANUAL REQUIRES INSPECTION OF SEALS ONLY EVERY 7500 MILES, SO BRAKING MAY BE LOST FOR A CONSIDERABLE PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE DISCOVERY. SERIOUS ACCIDENT WAS NARROWLY AVOIDED ON 10-14-2011, IRONICALLY ON RETURN FROM DEALER, WHEN CAR AHEAD STOPPED IN LANE TO TURN LEFT; HARD BRAKING AND SWERVE INTO RIGHT LANE AVOIDED COLLISION BUT TRUCK STOPPED WITH FRONT GRILL AT SAME POINT AS FRONT SEAT IN THE STOPPED CAR. *TR

REAR DOORS ARE FALLING APART, NISSAN SAYS THEY WON'T COVER REPAIRS BECAUSE I LIVE ON DIRT ROAD , TRUCK BED IS SPLITTING AND FALLING APART , NISSAN SAYS IT IS BECAUSE I HAUL HAY IN BED(PICK UP TRUCK FRONTIER). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 20 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR LOCATE A FAILURE. THE DEALER PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT AND BALANCED THE TIRES YET, FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED A FAILURE AT THE FRONT SUSPENSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH BRAKING SYSTEM *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED STEADY PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL CAUSED LOSS OF POSITION AND EVENTUALLY SINKING TOWARD THE FLOOR. SUDDEN STOPS DID NOT HAVE FIRM BRAKE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. THE SECOND REPAIR ATTEMPT WAS TO REPLACE THE BOOSTER PUMP, BUT TO NO AVAIL. *JB
BRAKE PEDAL GOES BELOW THE GAS PEDAL. I HAVE HIT BOTH PEDALS IN A RUSH STOPS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MPH APPROACHING A STOP SIGN HE ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKES POPPED. WHEN HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKES THEY FAILED TO OPERATE, HE THEN ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. HE CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO HIS DESTINATION. HE CALLED A TOW COMPANY AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT ALL FOUR ROTORS AND THE FRONT BRAKE PADS HAD RUSTED OUT. THE DEALER WAS REPAIRING THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT.THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 4,844.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. WHILE TRAVELING 25 MPH THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL HAD SUDDENLY STOPPED MOVING AND COULD NOT BE TURNED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. HE STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER 2008. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND ENGAGING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR UNTIL HE HEARD METAL TO METAL. THE VEHICLE STOPPED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT FACILITY WHERE THEY STATED THAT VEHICLE HAD A LEAK IN THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR WILL NOT REGISTER A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT PROPERLY AND IS CAUSING THE AIRBAG DISABLED LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE ON THE DASHBOARD, INDICATING THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE. IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED TWICE WITH THE DEALER, AND ONCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO IS REFUSING TO ESCALATE THE ISSUE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON EXTERNAL EXAMINATION OF THE VEHICLE SHE NOTICED THAT THE SIDE REFLECTOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHTS HAD FRACTURED AND FELL INSIDE OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. HEADLIGHT MALFUNCTION REDUCES VISIBILITY, WHICH THUS INCREASES THE RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY AND VEHICLE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, IN WHICH A TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 44585. UPDATED 10/09/09 *CN UPDATED 10/16/09
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY IS WARPED WHERE THE SILVER DIVIDER IS BETWEEN THE TOP AND BOTTOM ALSO THE SIDE AMBER DEFLECTOR INSIDE THE ASSEMBLY IS BROKEN. THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP BOTH THE REFLECTORS INSIDE ARE OUT OF PLACE, THE LARGER ONE HAS SLID DOWN WHERE THE MAIN HEADLIGHT IS. YOU CANNOT GET INSIDE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY TO REPAIR THESE. THE ONLY OPTION IS TO REPLACE THEM. NISSAN REFUSES TO REPLACE THEM BECAUSE MY WARRANTY IS NO LONGER VALID SINCE I HAVE OVER 36,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. I HAVE NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENT. I HAVE NEVER REPLACED THE BULBS. *TR
WE OWN A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER TRUCK/ 4 WHEEL DRIVE, 6CYL. THE BRAKES ARE FAR TOO SOFT,AND SPONGY, REQUIRE FAR TOO MUCH PEDAL TRAVEL TO BE SAFE OR EFFECTIVE, OR TO BE EFFECTIVELY USED BY ANYONE!! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE KEY FOB WAS ABNORMALLY SENSITIVE AND WOULD ENGAGE OR DISENGAGE WHILE THE KEY FOB WAS IN HIS POCKETS. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE AND KEY FOB TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSIS AND WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A FAILURE. I HAVE A 8 MONTH OLD FRONTIER NISSAN VEHICLE , WITH JUST 1 SERVICE ON TIME EVERYTHING - THE FAILURE I GOT A LOOSE NUT ON THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER - WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWNHILL ON A MOUNTAIN WITH SNOW - LOST ALL BRAKE FLUIDS AND BRAKE SYSTEMS JUST WENT HARD TO WORK AND NOT A UNIFORM BRAKE. TO CORRECT I WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY JUST RE-TORQUE THE NUT AND THAT'S IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT A CRASH. THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED IMMEDIATELY AFTER ALL THE AIR BAGS (FRONT, REAR, AND THE ONES NEAR THE SUNROOF) DEPLOYED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT AN AIR BAG TECHNICIAN WOULD CALL HIM. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE DEALER WAS GIVING HIM THE RUN AROUND. THE VEHICLE NEVER LOST POWER WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS STILL AT HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR NECK AND BACK PAINS, IN ADDITION TO FACIAL BURNS FROM THE AIR BAGS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 22,000.
6- DAYS AFTER BUYING A BRAND NEW 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER 2WD/SE CREW CAB THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT STAY ON .ON THE DAY I WENT TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START, I HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WORKED ON IT FOR A WEEK.THEY STATED THAT SOMETIMES IT WOULD START AND OTHER TIMES IT WOULDN'T ,THEY SAID THEY HAD TO CALL THE NISSAN TECH LINE THAT INSTRUCTED THEM TO CHECK SEVERAL DIFFERENT THINGS BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT START SO THE TECH LINE TOLD THEM TO REPLACE THE -"IPDM E/R".THEY SAID THE TRUCK WAS THEN FIXED AND TO PICK IT UP. I PICKED UP THE TRUCK AND WENT APPROXIMATELY 2-MILES TO A STORE AND WHEN I CAME BACK OUT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START AGAIN,I HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THE NISSAN DEALER AGAIN.THIS TIME THEY WORKED ON IT FOR 6-DAYS AND THEY SAID --"CHECKED WIRING GOING INTO IPDM BOX,FOUND WHEN WIGGLING WIRES THEY COULD HERE A CLICK AND THEN THE VEHICLE WOULD CRANK ,THEY UNPLUGGED WIRING AND TRACED WIRE BACK INTO MAIN ENGINE HARNESS,FOUND WIRE WAS SPLICED TO ITSELF AND HAD A LOOSE CONNECTION,REPAIRED WIRING AND CONFIRMED OPERATION,PROGRAMMED ALL KEYS TOGETHER, CLEARED ALL CODES,CLEARED SELF LEARNING CONTROL,RELEARNED IDLE AIR VOLUME AND RECALIBRATED STEERING ANGLE SENSOR".THEY HAD ME PICK UP THE TRUCK AGAIN ON 9/10/08 AND SO FAR IT IS OK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE PEDAL WOULD SEEM LOOSE AND EXTEND TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT WHEN IN TRAFFIC AND WHEN THE CONTACT WAS BRAKING A LOT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,000.
MY 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER 4X4 CREWCAB IS THROWN ALL OVER THE ROAD BY NORMAL WIND DRAFT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ON WINDY DAYS IT IS A NIGHTMARE TO KEEP ON THE ROAD. YOU CANNOT RELAX WHILE DRIVING OR YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD BEFORE YOU KNOW IT! I AM AFRAID I AM GOING END UP IN A WRECK BECAUSE OF IT OR AT THE VERY LEAST I BELIEVE I MIGHT BE STOP AND ACCUSED OF DRIVING DRUNK. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND HAD IT CHECKED. NOTHING MECHANICALLY WRONG. THEY TELL ME IT IS WIND DRAFT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK AS I CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT NOW AND I DON'T THINK NISSAN IS GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, EVEN THOUGH THE LOOK ON THE SHOP FORMAN'S FACE TOLD ME HE KNOWS IT IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT HE CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT AND THAT HE IS UNCOMFORTABLE BEING CAUGHT IN THIS POSITION. THIS IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE TO OPERATE AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO FIX THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. IN MY OPINION, IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS IS REALITY!!!!!!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN FRONTIER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THERE WAS A WADDLING NOISE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
2008 NISSAN FRONTIER WITH OWNER MANUAL ERRORS. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE PAGE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL HAS ERRORS ABOUT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CONSUMER BELIEVES THAT A CORRECTED PAGE SHOULD BE SENT TO ALL CONSUMERS. *KB
