CONSUMER TURNED OFF ENGINE AND NOTICED SMOKE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WIRE ON THE ELECTRONIC MOTOR MOUNT WIRING CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNED. *AK
ROTORS WERE WARPING AFTER ONLY 15000 MILES. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER CANNOT FIND CAUSE OF PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY HEARD A NOISE. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER ,AND RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED. FIRESTONE , BRIDGESTONE, POTENZA. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
AFTER PARKING VEHICLE, CONSUMER SHIFTED TO PARK, INSTANTLY VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD AND HIT THE GARAGE WALL. DAMAGE WAS $5000.00. VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED AT BODY SHOP, NOT INSPECTED BY DEALER.*AK *YD
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION AND THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUED AT THIS TIME. *AK THE FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED AND TURNED. ON A LATER DATE THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE RESURFACED. THE DEALER WOULD NOT FIX THE VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY. *SC *JB
I HAVE HAD A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM WITH MY 2001 NISSAN MAXIMA COLD START SENSOR AND THE DEALER SAYS NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. HAS ANYONE ELSE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM? ALSO, I WAS NEVER SENT A RECALL FOR THE SUSPENSION, CONTROL ARM: LOWER ARM. IS IT TO LATE TO HAVE THIS REPLACED? WHY WAS I NOT CONTACTED OR WHY DEALER DIDN'T NOTIFY ME? WHAT CAN I DO BECAUSE MY FRONT END IS MAKING NOISES? *NM
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. CONSUMER HAD THE COMPUTER RESET AT 36000 MILES. VEHICLE HAD 70000 MILES ON IT, BUT PROBLEM CONTINUED. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER. HOWEVER, PROBLEM RECURRED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING, CONSUMER SMELLED SMOKE, CONSUMER THEN PULLED OVER AND LIFTED HOOD AND FOUND HEAVY SMOKE AND WIRES BURNING, CONSUMER CUT OFF ENGINE AND BURNING STOPPED, THEN CALLED AAA.*AK
AFTER PURCHASING A NEW 2001 NISSAN MAXIMA SE IN AUGUST 2001, I TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP OVER FIVE TIMES BECAUSE OF THE STEERING AND VIBRATION OF THE TIRES AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT FIXED.*AK
FRONT BRAKE WHEEL BEARING FAILED, BRAKE ROTORS WARPS IN LESS THAN 15,000 MI. 02 SENSOR FAILED < 15,000 MI, NEED BRAKES REPLACED LESS THAN EVERY 15,000 MI. EXCESSIVE VIBRATION IN FRONT OF AUTOMOBILE. DEALER IS UNABLE TO ISOLATE AND REPAIR. AUTOMOBILE IS NO DAM GOOD. *JB
SPEEDOMETER IS INOPERATIVE. MILEAGE READING IS INCORRECT. DEALER CONTACTED.*AK
MY 2001 NISSAN MAXIMA HEADLIGHTS GLAZE OVER CONSTANTLY WHICH CAUSES LOSS OF VISIBILITY IN BAD WEATHER AND AT NIGHT. MY WIFE HAS A HARD TIME DRIVING THE CAR BECAUSE THERE IS NOT SUFFICIENT ILLUMINATION COMING FROM THE HEADLIGHTS. THE DEALER TOLD ME TO USE WAX ON THE HEADLIGHTS TO REMOVE THE GLAZING. THIS DOES NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY. *NM
WHILE TRAVELING AT 60 MPH STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND LOSS OF BRAKES OCCURRED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO HIT A TREE, BOTH AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. *AK MANUFACTURER WILL NOT ASSIST CONSUMER WITH AIR BAG MATTER. *SLC
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE STARTED TO RUN ROUGH AND HESITATED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND DEALER INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS: BOTH REAR OXYGEN SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THE ECM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED, AND BOTH FRONT AND REAR ENGINE MOUNTS WERE WEAK, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK REPLACE TWO MOTOR MOUNTS AND TWO REAR OXYGEN SENSORS. *BF
TOYO ALL SEASON, PROXES, P215/55R16 DOT CXVD7A21000, ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, $ 8000 DAMAGE TO VEHICLE, BLOWOUT ON RIGHT REAR TIRE DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION AT 65 MPH, ONE PERSON WAS INJURED IN ACCIDENT, CONSUMER LOST CONTROL STRIKING A BARRIER WALL. *AK *SLC
REAR SUSPENSION IS NOT DESIGNED TO ACCOMDATE 4 ADULT PASSENGERS. TRUNK WAS EMPTY WITH FOUR PASSENGERS AND REAR SUSPENSION WOULD BOTTOM OUT. DEALER NOTIFIED, UNHELPFUL, AND MOST LIKELY STALLING UNTIL THE WARRANTY EXPIRES.*AK
LUMP BEHIND BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE TOP OF MY FOOT (10.5 SHOE SIZE) PRESSES AGAINST A LUMP WHICH STOPS ME FROM APPLYING MORE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE. TO AVOID THIS, I HAVE TO POSITION MY FOOT AT AN ANGLE. UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN I NEED TO APPLY THE BRAKE IN A HURRY, THE LAST THING I THINK ABOUT IS THE ANGLE OF MY FOOT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW AND I WAS WONDERING IF YOUR AGENCY HAS COME ACROSS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. THANK YOU.*AK
VEHICLE HAS HAD BROKEN STRUTS, SPRING REALIGNMENT, WHEEL BEARINGS AND HUB ASSEMBLY.
VEHICLE SPEED DIAL INDICATOR STOPPED WORKING. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THIS COULD BE AS A RESULT OF A SENSOR FAILURE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH OR HIGHER THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED WHEN THE BRAKE WERE APPLIED. THE DRIVER SUSPECTED THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. *NLM *CB *NLM
NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S FRONT ROTORS. *MR THIS WAS THE CONSUMER'S THIRD SET OF FRONT ROTORS AND THE LATEST SET WARPED. THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND PULLED TO THE SIDE WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR BRAKE WORK SIX TIMES. THE CONSUMER OWNED MANY NISSAN'S AND STATED THAT THIS WAS THE FIRST MAJOR PROBLEM EVER EXPERIENCED. THERE WAS STILL A SLIGHT VIBRATION COMING FROM THE REAR BRAKES, MOANING/GROANING SOUNDS FROM THE FRONT RIGHT, CREAKING/POPPING WHEN TURNING, WHEN SETTING THE CRUISE AT 70 MPH(CRUISE CONTROL CABLE WAS NOT PROPERLY ADJUSTED), IT FELT AS IF THE GAS WAS APPLIED, AND BUMPS COULD BE FELT IN THE ROAD THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL. *SCC. IT TOOK A LONG TIME FOR THE AIR CONDITION TO COOL THE VEHICLE. *JB
VEHICLE WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL REGARDING THE SUSPENSION DUE TO THE VIN, BUT EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM STATED ON THE RECALL. *LA THE VEHICLE HAD TO GET A REALIGNMENT, THE BOTTOM COVER WAS LOOSE AND THE VEHICLE CONSTANTLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT/LEFT AND THERE WAS AN ALTERNATOR PROBLEM WHERE THE BATTERY DID NOT CHARGE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED ASSISTANCE WITH GETTING THE VEHICLE FULLY CHECKED SINCE THE PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED OCCURRED DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD. RECALL#02V146000. *SC *JB
