THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A RECOMMENDED AUTO GLASS REPAIR SHOP TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10E038000 (VISIBILITY). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN HE HEARD A LOUD, ABNORMAL BANGING FROM THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LOOKED INTO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF HAD FRACTURED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT HIS EQUIPMENT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V421000 (VISIBILITY:SUN ROOF ASSEMBLY). THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
WHEN COMING OUT OF AN ANTIQUE SHOP WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE GLASS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE EXPLODED AND SHATTERED. GLASS WAS ALL OVER DRIVER'S FRONT SEAT AND REAR SEATS. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, WHO SUGGESTED THAT CONSUMER TAKE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE WINDOW. VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY PARKED IN A GARAGE AND THE OCCURRENCE HAPPENED IN THE MORNING. IT WAS NOT VERY HOT OUTSIDE. *AK AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP, THE CONSUMER WAS THEN ADVISED TO GO TO A AUTO GLASS REPAIR SHOP. THEY DETERMINED THAT NOTHING HAD HIT THE WINDOW. THE REPAIR COST THE CONSUMER $162 DOLLARS. SHE WAS CONCERNED THAT THERE IS A SAFETY DEFECT WITH HER WINDOW. *PH
