TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 154,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED ABNORMALLY. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS, WHO REPLACED THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS STOPPING. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ABS SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE IS PULSING WHILE STOPPING. I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM. I THEN CALLED A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER WHO ALSO STATED IT IS A PROBLEM & THERE IS A BULLETIN REGARDING THE ABS SYSTEM. YET THERE IS NO RECALL ON IT. ONCE AGAIN NISSAN NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROBLEMS WITH THEIR VEHICLES. NISSAN IS TELLING ME THAT THE COST TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM CAN BE IN EXCESS OF $1500.00. THIS IS DISGRACEFUL. IT IS OBVIOUS THERE IS A PROBLEM. I CANNOT WAIT TO GET RID OF MY NISSAN. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE. CAR STARTED TO JERK AND CLUNK AND A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE TURNING IN TO DRIVEWAY IT WOULD JERK AND MAKE THE TIRES SQUEAL. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING MY 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA THE CAR STARTED TO JERK. I WOULD BE DRIVING AND WHEN I COME TO A STOP AND START AGAIN THE CAR WOULD JERK REALLY HARD. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR FOR REPAIR AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS JERKING IS VERY SCARY AND IT'S NOT GETTING BETTER JUST WORST AND NOW I'M THINKING IT'S TIME TO FIND A NEW CAR. THE BODY OF THE CAR AND EVERYTHING IS FINE BUT JUST JERKING THAT I GET WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR IS REALLY CONCERNING. *TR
MY 18 YEAR OLD SON COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO ENGAGE IN REVERSE. IN AN EFFORT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD NARROWLY ESCAPING A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. I HAD RECENTLY PASSED THIS VEHICLE DOWN TO MY SON AND I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO HIM IF HE HAD BEEN BEHIND THE WHEEL CONSIDERING HE IS A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS INCIDENTS INVOLVING NISSAN VEHICLE TRANSMISSIONS. *TR

THE 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA, A 5-SPEED AUTOMATIC, JERKS VIOLENTLY WHEN SHIFTING INTO THE 2ND AND/OR 3RD GEAR AND DURING DOWN SHIFT. ALSO JERKS VIOLENTLY WHEN SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE AND REVERSE TO DRIVE. *TR
AT 66,000 MILES (APPROXIMATELY) THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR WHEN WARM,. (WARM DEFINED AS DRIVEN IN EXCESS OF 30-45 MINUTES). AT THAT POINT THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR IMMEDIATELY. THEN CAR WOULD SUDDENLY SLAM INTO GEAR, CAUSING THE CAR TO LUNGE UNEXPECTEDLY WE TOOK THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AND DELIVERED TO NISSAN DEALER. AT FIRST THE NISSAN DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE. EVENTUALLY, THEY DIAGNOSED A BAD TRANSMISSION. TO GET A SECOND OPINION WE BROUGHT THE CAR TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST WHO INDICATED THE PROBLEM WAS THE VALVE THROTTLE (A PART OF THE TRANSMISSION). HIS EXPERIENCES WERE THAT THIS WAS A FAULT HE HAD SEEN ON OTHER NISSAN TRANSMISSION SETS (VALVE BODY) IN THAT ERA COST OF PART WITH LABOR $1,895 - NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY NISSAN HAS NO RECALL OR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AVAILABLE ON THIS ISSUE ASIDE FROM COST, CAR SLAMMING INTO GEAR, LUNGING IS NOT SAFE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHIFT INTO GEAR EXCESSIVELY AND IT ALSO CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD WITH FORCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
WHEN HAVING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE DONE, MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD WAS RUSTED TO THE POINT WHERE THERE WAS A HOLE ENABLING HIM TO SEE THE INTERIOR CARPET FROM UNDERNEATH. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT APPEARS THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS DANGEROUS AND COSTLY STRUCTURAL ISSUE. I WILL BE CONTACTING NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND HEADQUARTERS DIRECTLY, ALTHOUGH IT APPEARS THAT THEY HAVE NOT ASSISTED OTHERS AND HAVE TURNED A BLIND EYE TO THIS ISSUE. I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE THAT I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE WHO'S FEET MAY HAVE GONE RIGHT THROUGH THE FLOOR AT ANY GIVEN TIME CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY! NISSAN NEEDS TO STEP UP AND ADMIT THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE HERE. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH LOW GRADE, INFERIOR MATERIALS WERE USED ON THIS VEHICLE. AS OTHERS HAVE ALSO STATED, THE STEERING WHEEL HAS A TENDENCY TO SHAKE WHEN DRIVING OVER 40 MAKING IT FEEL OFF-BALANCE OR NOT ALIGNED WHEN IN FACT THE ALIGNMENT IS FINE. *TR
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ONTO A HIGHWAY OFF OF A RAMP I WENT TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC WHILE DOING SO MY CAR DID NOT MOVE AND THE ENGINE RPMS REDLINED AFTER ABOUT 3 SECONDS MY CAR JERKED INTO GEAR AND FELT AS IF SOMEONE HAD REAR-ENDED ME HOWEVER I NOTICED IT WAS MY CAR NOT BEING ABLE TO GET INTO GEAR. ONCE IT GOT INTO GEAR THE CAR PEELED OUT UNCONTROLLABLY AND I ALMOST RAN MY CAR OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE IS A VERY WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE AND ONLY HAS 75,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGE ALMOST EVERY TIME BRAKE IS APPLIED. TSB SAYS RUST HAS TO BE CLEANED OUT OF THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL HUB AND A DRAIN HOLE HAS TO BE ADDED, RIGHT REAR ABS($250 +) SENSOR HAS TO BE REPLACED, WITH POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT OF ABS ACTUATOR($1000 +) REQUIRED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION JERKED INTO GEAR VERY ABRUPTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY WOULD NEED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES AND PROCEEDED TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FOUR YEARS PRIOR TO THE RECENT FAILURE, THE SAME SYMPTOMS LEAD TO THE CONTACT HAVING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 200,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED BETWEEN 10-30MPH THE CAR RPM WILL SHIFT UP TO 4-5 WHILE STILL STUCK IN FIRST GEAR THEN IT WILL GIVE A VERY HARD JERK FORWARD!!!! THAT'S NOT SAFE. *TR

NOTICED A PIECE OF METAL HANGING DOWN FROM UNDER THE CAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR. WHEN I BENT DOWN, NOTICED THAT IT WAS A PIECE OF SHEET METAL FROM THE FLOORBOARD. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR ONTO A LIFT, I NOTICED THAT THE ENTIRE FLOORBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS COMPLETELY ROTTED. I HAVE NOTICED THAT ON THIS WEBSITE AND MANY OTHER PAGES ON THE INTERNET, PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM, BUT NISSAN HASN'T MADE ANY ATTEMPTS TO DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. THIS POSES MANY SAFETY CONCERNS BESIDE THE OBVIOUS FOOT GOING THRU THE FLOOR OR WATER COMING UP THRU THE FLOOR, BUT ALSO POSES A SAFETY CONCERN OF FUMES MAKING THEIR WAY INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. WE HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS BRAND NEW AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH NISSAN AND ITS RELIABILITY, BUT THIS ISN'T HELPING NISSAN'S CAUSE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,402.
IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, THE 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA TRANSMISSION WAS KNOCKING AND SLIPPING, HAD EXCESSIVE HIGH RPM'S CAUSING THE CAR TO "BURN RUBBER", AND JERKED HEAVILY WHEN SHIFTING. A RATING SEVERITY OF 10 IS GIVEN DUE TO HAVING HAD 4 NEAR MISS (POSSIBLE) ACCIDENTS IN A PERIOD OF 20 MINUTES. THE CAR WAS SENT TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND ITEMS WERE REPLACED THAT THE MECHANIC SAID WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM (ENGINE MOUNTS). THE CAR WAS DRIVEN AGAIN AND DISPLAYED THE SAME DEFECTS. THE CAR MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED OF THESE DEFECTS ON 3/7/2013. THESE CONDITIONS POSE A SAFETY HAZARD NOT ONLY TO MYSELF BUT ALSO TO MY PASSENGERS (WHICH ARE FAMILY AND FRIENDS), OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD AS WELL AS INNOCENT PEDESTRIANS THAT MAY COME IN CONTACT WITH MY CAR WHEN I FINALLY DO HAVE THAT SERIOUS LIFE THREATENING ACCIDENT DUE TO MY TRANSMISSION DEFECT. *TR
2004 NISSAN MAXIMA SE (EQUIPPED WITH SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION) COMPONENT FAIURE: CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER 1ST OCCURENCE - APRIL 2008 ~31,000 MILES SUDDEN TOTAL LOSS OF CLUTCH PEDAL PRESSURE RESULTING IN INABILITY TO PUT CAR INTO ANY GEAR WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNINGS, EXPERIENCED TOTAL LOSS OF CLUTCH PEDAL PRESSURE WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON A BRIDGE, RESULTING IN EXTREME SAFETY CONCERNS TRYING TO GET OUT OF HARMS WAY. JAMMED CAR INTO GEAR WITHOUT PRESSURE CLUTCH RESULTED IN SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS OF CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES TO THE TRANSMISSION GEARS. NISSAN REPLACED THE FAILED CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $400.00. TRANSMISSION WAS FIXED BY NISSAN UNDER WARRANTY. 2ND OCCURENCE - MARCH 2013 ~58,000 MILES SUDDEN PARTIAL LOSS (1/2) OF CLUTCH PEDAL PRESSURE WHILE DRIVING HOME IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. NO LONGER CAN DRIVE CAR DUE TO SAFETY/RELIABILITY CONCERNS. IN BOTH OF THE OCCURENCES ABOVE, FULL CLUTCH PRESSURE RETURNED AFTER LETTING CAR SIT AND COLL DOWN FOR APPROXIMATELY 1/2 HOUR. A SEARCH OF THE WE REVEALED THAT MANY DRIVES OF NISSAN'S OF THIS VINTAGE HAVE EXPERIENCED IDENTICAL SYMPTOMS OF CLUTCH PEDAL PRESSURE FAILURE. DEALER WILL NOT ADMIT IT IS A PROBLEM. *TR

WENT TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN CAR STARTED TO POUND WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE THE STOP SIGN CAR MOVED BUT VERY HARD. THE TRANSMISSION HAS PROBLEMS THE STARTED OUT OF THE BLUE NO WARNING ITS EVEN STALLED MY CAR AND LEFT ME STRANDED. THERE HAS BEEN TONS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS . WHEN I CALLED THE NISSAN COMPANY THEY SAID TAKE TO A NISSAN DEALER TO LOOK AT IT AND LET THEM KNOW. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTICS THEN THEY TELL YOU SORRY THEY CANT HELP THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS AND ITS A HORRIBLE EXPENSE A USED REBUILT IS 3000 DOLLARS IT HORRIBLE. SO I HAVE THIS CAR IN BEAUTIFUL SHAPE THAT JUST SITS CAUSE I CANT PAY TO FIX IT. *TR
TRANSMISSION WILL REV HIGH, BANG INTO GEARS 1-2, 2-3, 3-2,AND R-, CAUSING THE CAR TO JERK. VERY UNSETTLING. COMMON PROBLEM TO THIS MODEL VEHICLE. VERY FEARFUL OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT 1 DAY. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS PROBLEM BEGAN. WHEN DRIVING DOWN AN INCLINE AND TURNING ONE WAY OR THE OTHER THE CAR WILL DIE, STEERING WILL LOCK UP AND THERE IS NO WAY TO STEER. UNABLE TO RESTART ENGINE UNTIL YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, PUT IN PARK THEN IT TAKES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO RESTART. YOU ALSO CANNOT EVEN STEER OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. THIS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. I FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN HAS A RECALL ON ALTIMAS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT WILL NOT COVER AND RECALL MY VEHICLE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WOULD ONLY RECALL CERTAIN MAKES WHEN IT IS THE SAME EXACT ERROR CODE ON BOTH VEHICLES. WHEN EVER I SHIFT TO REVERSE THE CAR PAUSES AND THEN JERKS. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND HAD NEW MOTOR MOUNT PUT IN TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. FOR A FEW DAYS YOU COULD BARELY FEEL THE JERKING WHEN SWITCHING TO REVERSE. LITERALLY BY THE NEXT WEEK IT WAS BAD ALL OVER AGAIN AND THE JERKING RETURNED. ALSO, SOMETIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING I CAN FEEL THE CAR, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, SWITCHING GEARS. FOR EXAMPLE, THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND GOING ONLY AROUND 25MPH AND AS I STARTED TO ACCELERATE THE CAR JERKED AND SLOWED DOWN FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS BEFORE IT RETURNED TO MY NORMAL SPEED. THIRDLY, THE POWER LOCKS ARE NOT CONSISTENT. WHEN I LOCK MY DOORS WITH THE AUTOMATIC LOCK ON THE KEYS OR EVEN BY PRESSING THE POWER LOCKS ON THE DOOR HANDLE IT WILL ONLY LOCK THE FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER AND THE BACK LEFT PASSENGER DOOR. THIS CAN BE VERY FRUSTRATING AS I HAVE LEFT MY CAR DOORS UNLOCKED UNKNOWINGLY. *TR

THE CAR IS JERKING/BUCKING VIOLENTLY WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE INTO DRIVE AND AGAIN WHEN SHIFTING INTO FIRST AND SECOND GEARS. IT IS ALSO JERKING WHEN DOWNSHIFTING FROM SECOND TO FIRST GEAR. AT FIRST, THE SHIFTING PROBLEM WAS AN OCCASIONAL OCCURRENCE, HOWEVER, IT HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. NOW IT IS ALMOST CONSTANT. ON SATURDAY JANUARY 5TH 2013, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I CALLED CARMAX ON MONDAY JANUARY 7TH 2013 TO GET MY EXTENDED WARRANTY INFORMATION. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH PASSPORT NISSAN LOCATED IN OXON HILL, MD. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME. I NEED TO HAVE MY TIMING CHAIN, GEARS, GUIDES AND TENSIONS REPLACE FOR $2,619.00 WITH REPLACING THE OIL COOLER (IT HAS LEAKAGE) $698.00. WELL MY EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED WHEN MY CAR HIT 100,000. IF I HAD KNOWN THIS BEFORE I PURCHASE THE CAR FROM CARMAX, I WOULD HAVE NEVER TOOK IT OFF THE LOT. BY THE WAY I ONLY HAD THE CAR SINCE APRIL 2011. I NEED HELP!!!!! I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH GREEN LIGHT AUTO WHO IS TIRED OF DEALING WITH THIS CAR BECAUSE IT HAS THIS ISSUES NOW LET ME TELL YOU THIS NEW MOUNTS, FLUID ALL NEW EVEN SENSORS AND 02'S THAT ARE NOTED TO GO AND CAUSE THESE ISSUES. THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS FREQUENTLY, OFTEN HESITATION WHEN SWITCHING FROM PARK/REVERSE/DRIVE AND WHEN SWITCHING FROM 1ST TO 2ND OR 2ND TO 3RD. THE SLIP OFTEN RESULTS IN LACK OF POWER TO THE WHEELS AND THEN A SUDDEN JERK WHEN IT DOES FINALLY KICK IN. IT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS WHEN YOU PULL INTO TRAFFIC AND EXPECT THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY AND INSTEAD GET STUCK BETWEEN GEARS. SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS TRANSMISSION SINCE IT IS APPARENT FROM ONLINE RESEARCH THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE. *TR
WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK-REVERSE OR REVERSE-DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION HAS A SHORT DELAY BEFORE "JUMPING" INTO GEAR. THIS PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT AND SEEMED TO ONLY OCCUR DURING EXTREMELY COLD TEMPERATURES. I HAD A TRANSMISSION FLUSH PERFORMED ($65) THAT SEEMED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM BUT IT RETURNED WITHIN 5K MILES. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, THE TRANSMISSION RANDOMLY BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AT SPEEDS OF 20-30MPH AT WHICH TIME THE RPMS WOULD INCREASE RAPIDLY WITH LOSS OF ACCELERATION. ANOTHER TRANSMISSION FLUSH WAS PERFORMED AND THE PROBLEM SEEMED WORSE. FINALLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY "SLAMMED" THEN THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ACTIVATED WITH A NOTICEABLE POWER LOSS. UPON SLOWING DOWN TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE STALLED AND DIED. IT RESTARTED BUT THE THROTTLE WAS RESTRICTED. THE VEHICLES GEAR WAS CHANGED TO MANUAL MODE AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN 5TH GEAR. AT THAT POINT THE VEHICLE GOT STUCK IN 5TH GEAR AFTER 15-20 MIN OF DRIVING AND THE LOW SPEED POWER LOSS BECAME ALMOST CONSTANT. THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER DRIVEN UNTIL IT WAS PUT ON DIAGNOSTICS BY A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST ($60) AND THE CODE INDICATED THE FAILURE OF 3 SENSORS: CAM POSITION SENSOR, ELECTRONIC ACCELERATION POSITION SENSOR AND TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSOR. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THE ERROR CODES AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THIS AS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NO SUGGESTIONS OTHER THAN REPLACING THE SENSORS. THE ELECTRONIC ACCELERATION POSITION SENSOR REQUIRED A NEW THROTTLE BODY WHICH WAS THEN REPLACED ($115). THE 2 CAM SENSORS ($120) AND TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSOR, AKA TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION OUTPUT SENSOR, WERE THEN PURCHASED ($125). I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALER AND PAY ANOTHER $365 TO GET THE NEW SENSORS FLASHED. THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. I'M NOW LOOKING AT GETTING THE TRANNY REPLACED. *TR
