THE LEFT AND RIGHT REAR FENDER MOULDING IS FALLING OFF OF MY VEHICLE. THIS IS A TRIM PIECE THAT CONNECTS THE REAR FENDER AND THE ROOF. THIS PIECE IS ABOUT 26" LONG. THE PLASTIC CLIPS THAT HOLD IT ON ARE FAILING AND THE LEFT PIECE HAS FALLEN OFF WHILE DRIVING, AND THE RIGHT PIECE IS LOOSE AND FAILING. THIS IS A HAZARD AND MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COSMETIC REAR FENDER AND WINDSHIELD PLASTIC MOLDING LOOSENED AND EXPANDED TO THE REAR WINDSHIELD. THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR WERE ALSO LOOSENED. THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE WHILE DRIVING AND LOCATED THE POINT OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART WOULD NOT FIT ON THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE MOLDING PART WAS MODIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SOME DRILLING WAS NECESSARY TO INSTALL THE MOLDING ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND DECLINED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE STATING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED A LOUD WHISTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE SUNROOF OUTSIDE OF NORMAL WIND NOISES. THIS SOUND OCCURS DAILY. IT APPEARS THAT IT IS NOT SEALED PROPERLY AND WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO LEAKS. THE DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO HEAR THE NOISE AS WELL AND EVEN PUSH MY SUNROOF OPEN FURTHER WITH THEIR HANDS. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH ONLINE, THIS SEEM TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN MAXIMA. THERE IS AN ENTIRE MAXIMA FORUM ONLINE DISCUSSING THIS ISSUE WITH CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING OF WATER DAMAGE DUE TO IT NOT BEING SEALED PROPERLY. CAR WAS INFESTED WITH SPIDERS RIGHT AFTER PURCHASE AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THEY WERE GETTING IN FROM THE SUNROOF.
FOR A FEW MONTHS, WHENEVER I DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY, TYPICALLY FOR MORE THAN 30 MIN, THE SENSOR WITH THE TWO CARS COLLIDING TURNS ON WITH A BEEP SOUND. IT TURNS OFF AFTER I TURN OFF THE CAR BUT WILL TURN ON AFTER DRIVING FOR MORE ON THE FREEWAY. I'VE BEEN DRIVING WITH TURNS OR HILLS AND COULD BE A PART OF IT BUT I'M NOT SURE. AFTER 3 YEARS OF HAVING THE CAR, IT STARTED DOING THAT. THE ABS WAS ALREADY CHANGED AS PART OF A RECALL AND I DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I SEE THAT ANOTHER PERSON HAS REPORTED THIS ISSUE AT THE FOLLOWING LINK. I TALKED TO MY DEALER AND THEY DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND A SCANNER DOESN'T PICK UP A CODE SINCE THE CAR HAS TO BE OFF AND THE LIGHT TURNS OFF WHENEVER I TURN OFF THE CAR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LYNCHBURG NISSAN (18588 FOREST RD, FOREST, VA 24551, (434) 216-3326) AND THE MECHANIC RESET THE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE OCS UNIT AND SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THAT THEIR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,400. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED.
1) THE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION WARNING COMES ON RANDOMLY WHEN THERE IS NO OBSTRUCTION WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. 2) DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK STOPS WORKING FOR DAYS (THIS IS THE 5TH TIME AND I HAVE REPORTED IT TO ORR NISSAN IN SEARCY,AR) STARTED MESSING UP WHILE THERE WAS STILL WARRANTY BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG DUE TO IT NOT MESSING UP WHEN THEY COULD GET IT IN TO LOOK AT. THE KEY FOB, OUTSIDE BUTTON, AND INSIDE BUTTON WORKS ALL OTHER DOOR LOCKS EXCEPT DRIVER DOOR- HAVE TO USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK/LOCK DRIVER DOOR. CAN HEAR THE PART INSIDE THE DOOR REACTING IN A SLOW MANNER PRIOR TO IT NOT WORKING. VERY AGGRAVATING WHEN HAS BEEN REPORTED MANY, MANY TIMES AND NOT BEING FIXED DUE TO IT NOT MESSING UP AT APPOINTMENTS. TRIED TO GET AN APPOINTMENT TODAY WHILE IT'S MESSING UP BUT WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE NEXT WEEK BEFORE IT CAN BE LOOKED AT (PROBABLY WON'T BE MESSED UP THEN!) *TR
DRIVER AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR TWO YEARS AND DEALERSHIP STATES THAT IT WILL COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO BE REPLACED AND/OR REPAIRED. I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL AND MAY BE A CONTINUANCE OF AIRBAG ISSUES THAT WERE INCLUDED IN A RECALL PRIOR TO THIS YEAR MODEL. TODAY, I AM UNSURE AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THE AIRBAGS WILL WORK PROPERLY IN THE VEHICLE IF IT IS IN AN ACCIDENT.
WHILE DRIVING THE FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON. AFTER IT COMES ON THERE IS A REDUCTION OF POWER. IT DISABLES CRUISE CONTROL. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET OR WHEN YOU GO TO TAKE OFF. *TR
NISSAN MAXIMA SUNROOF BROKE FROM WEATHER CHANGES AND RESULTED IN A LARGE CRACK AND HOLE IN THE CENTER. REALIZED AS I WAS DRIVING BY HEARING WIND IN THE CAR. HAPPENED WHILE STATIONARY
I HAVE HAD MY 2017 MAXIMA INTO THE DEALERSHIP ( TIM DAHLE IN SALT LAKE CITY UT) ON 10-22 2019 FOR AN ANTI-FREEZE PROBLEM. THE ANTI-FREEZE IS BEING USED BUT NOT LEAKING ANYWHERE. THEY REPLACED THE RADIATOR CAP AND DID NOT SEE ANY NOTICEABLE LEAKS , TOPPED OFF THE COOLING SYSTEM AND SAID COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM, SAID IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE HOLDING TANK ON THE SIDE TO BE LOW. I DISAGREED AND THOUGHT IT WAS AN INTERNAL PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE, THEY SAID COULD SEE NO PROBLEM. A MONTH LATER I HAVE NO ANTI-FREEZE IN MY RESERVE TANK AFTER DRIVING ONLY ABOUT 50 MILES AROUND TOWN. WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR NEW I NOTICED IT WAS LOW ON ANTI-FREEZE, A YEAR AGO I TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE THEY TOPPED OFF ANTI-FREEZE AND IT HAS BEEN LEAKING FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT IT, THEY SAY THAT IS NORMAL AND I DISAGREE. MY WARRANTY IS UP IN JUNE OF 2020.
I HAVE AN OBD READING OF P0171 P0174 P219B AFTER I CHANGED THE BATTERY ON IT.
THE FRONT RADAR SENSOR DEACTIVATES ON MANY DIFFERENT OCCASIONS NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER IS. IT STATES THAT IT IS UNAVAILABLE DUE TO RADAR OBSTRUCTION BUT THERE IS NOTHING BLOCKING THE RADAR. THE AEB WILL AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGE WITHOUT WARNING FOR NO REASON. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, ONCE WHILE I WAS ON A HIGHWAY. I TOOK THE CAR IN THE FIRST IN MARCH 2019. TODAY WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN I WAS TOLD BY SERVICE PERSONNEL THAT HE COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN, AND HE HATES TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS THIS WINTER.
I PURCHASE THE MAXIMA CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED ON JUNE 2017. IN SEPTEMBER 2018, I NEEDED TO HAVE THE DISTANCE SENSOR ARRAY REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. IN JULY 2019, I NEEDED TO HAVE THE SAME DISTANCE SENSOR ARRAY REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. WHY DOES THIS KEEP FAILING? THIS SENSOR CONTROLS THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM AND THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. THE CAR WILL NOT OPERATE AS ADVERTISED IF THIS SENSOR IS NOT WORKING. SOON MY WARRANTY WILL EXPIRE AND I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THIS EVERY YEAR?
AFTER NUMEROUS VISITS TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WITHOUT GETTING ANSWERS AND CLEARLY EXPLAINING THAT MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING CVT JUDDER AND VIBRATIONS. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE VIBRATIONS AS TOLD TO NISSAN FOR AWHILE BUT I DON'T THINK THEY WANTED TO REPLACE MY CVT TRANSMISSION SINCE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO I WAS TOLD THE NOISE AND VIBRATIONS WERE NORMAL CVT CHATTER. I AM NOW PAST MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THE JUDDER AND VIBRATIONS HAVE ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. THE 2017 MAXIMA NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE VOLANTARY SERVICE BULLETINS LIKE THE 2016 DUE TO ALL THE COMPLAINTS ITS CURRENTLY ALREADY RECEIVING. MY MAXIMA NOW HAS 112,000K MILES BUT I HAVE BEEN SEEING THE SYMPTOMS SINCE AROUND 70K-80K MILES TO ONLY BE TOLD TIME AND TIME AGAIN ITS NORMAL WITH A POSSIBLE $3,700 TRANSMISSION BILL AWAITING ME FOR A CAR THAT HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY LESS THAN 3 YEARS. NISSAN HAS SHOWN THAT THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS ARE EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE.
FRONT FORWARD COLLISION SENSOR AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGED EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM WITHOUT ANY OBSTRUCTION BEING IN THE ROADWAY WHICH CAUSED A SUDDEN UNSAFE LOCKUP OF THE BRAKES. I WAS ON A LARGE AIRPORT PARKING RAMP IN MOTION. THERE IS ALSO NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN THE FRONT RADAR SENSOR DEACTIVATES AND SAYS UNAVAILABLE DUE TO FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION.
THIS ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT, HAS BEEN CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES BY MY DEALER AND DOES NOT SHOW UP IN ANY ERRORS. THE CAR WILL STALL AT RANDOM TIMES. IT STARTED OUT MOSTLY WHEN I STOPPED ACCELERATING, EITHER WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR TURNING A CORNER. OCCASIONALLY WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING. USUALLY IT IS VERY BRIEF BUT OCCASIONALLY TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO RE ENGAGE. ONLY ONCE ON THE FREEWAY BUT PRIMARILY ON CITY STREETS. I AM REPORTING THIS TODAY BUT IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY SAVE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE SINCE MAY 2018.

I PURCHASED 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA SV ON JANUARY 23, 2019 WITH 40,584. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, POST PURCHASE, UNSURE OF DATE, "FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION" BEGAN APPEARING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ON JUNE 27, 2019 A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP DOCUMENTED RADAR DISTANCE SENSOR REQUIRES REPLACEMENT.. *TR
DRIVER SEATBELT INDICATOR DOES NOT CHIME OR DISPLAY WHEN BELT IS UNBUCKLED. ONLY WORKS FOR THE PASSENGER.
MY DAUGHTER PARKED MY CAR OUTSIDE AT APPROX. 10:30 P.M. AT 2:05 A.M, IT IGNITED AND EXPLODED. MY STATE FARM INVESTIGATOR SAID IT IGNITED DUE TO ABS ACTUATOR LEAKING BRAKE FLUID ONTO THE CIRCUIT BOARD. I CALLED NISSAN BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS BUT THEY CLAIM MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND ONLY HAD IT LIKE 20 DAYS. CAR WAS TOTALED! *DT CONSUMER STATED FORMER LICENSED CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR, AND A CERTIFIED FIRE INVESTIGATOR SPECIALIZING IN FIRE ORIGIN AND CAUSE INVESTIGATION, AND CONSULTATION. HE ALREADY INSPECTED MY CAR AND TOLD ME MY CAR IGNITED AND EXPLODED BECAUSE THE ABS ACTUATOR PUMP LEAKED BRAKE FLUID ONTO THE INTERNAL CIRCUIT BOARD WHICH STARTED THE FIRE. *JB
AEB SYSTEM STOP MY CAR IN THE MIDDLE ON THE FREEWAY
NAVAGATION DASHBOARD BLINKING IN AND OUT NOW WONT COME BACK ON, BRAKING IS SLUGGISH

THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE TURNING LEFT INTO MAXIMA'S PATH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000. *TT THE VEHICLE WAS DETERMINED TO BE A TOTAL LOSS. FIRE DEPT RESPONDED YO CLEAN UP RADIATOR FLUID SPILL AND OTHER FLUID REPAIR. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET MY CAR JOLTED TO A STOP BY ITSELF. THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME AND NO REASON FOR THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM TO TAKE CONTROL. AFTER MY CAR CAME TO A STOP IT WOULDN'T MOVE FOR A FEW SECONDS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA SV AND SINCE I HAVE ACQUIRED THIS VEHICLE I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKES. AS I AM DRIVING THE CAR THE BRAKES MAKE A GRINDING NOISE. I HAVE TAKING THE CAR FOR MAINTENANCE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASION AT POHANKA NISSAN (WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR) AND COLONIAL NISSAN. BOTH PLACES CONVEYED TO ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BRAKES BUT EITHER LOCATION DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A NEWER MODEL VEHICLE TO EXPERIENCE SUCH A DEFECTIVE ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I FEAR THAT MY BRAKES WILL GIVE OUT WHILE MY FAMILY AND I ARE DRIVING. I HAVE NEVER FILLED OUT A COMPLAINT BEFORE FOR MY NISSANS VEHICLES BUT I AM A FAITHFUL NISSAN BUYER THAT WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED.
TAKATA RECALL, MY TIRES KEEP POPPING AND THIS ISNT NORMAL. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS YEAR I HAVE TO CHANGE THE WHEELS. NOT ONLY THAT BUT THE TIRE PRESSURE KEEPS CONSTANTLY GOING LOW EVERY DAY.
CAR WON'T STOP WHEN STEPPING ON BRAKES
MINIMAL ACCELERATION SOMETIMES. VEHICLE ACTS AS IF SLIPPING GEARS, OR TOTALLY LOSES POWER. ACCELERATION ISSUES HAPPEN FROM BOTH STOPPED AND HIGHWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS.
THE LEFT SIDE MIRROR ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS BLOCKING THE VIEW OF THE ROAD AND PEOPLE CROSSING THE HIKE MAKING LEFT TURN. I WAS AT A SIGNAL AND WAITING FOR YIELD TO TURN LEFT AND AT THE TURNING THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR OBJECTED THE VIEW AND COMPLETELY MISSED A WALKER CROSSING THE ROAD UNTIL SHE WAS ALMOST HEAD ON..DIAGONAL LEFT VIEWS FROM DRIVER SIDE ARE BLOCKED
APPLIED BRAKES IN EMERGENCY SITUATION. ABS SYSTEM FAILED TO OPERATE AND ALL FOUR WHEELS LOCKED AND CAR SLID INTO OTHER VEHICLE. ALSO CAR EQUIPPED WITH BRAKE ASSIST IT TO FAILED TO OPERATE.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, THE TIRE SUDDENLY BLEW OUT. IT ONLY HAD 15000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR ONLY HAD 6 MILES WHEN I PURCHASED IT IN 2017
FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION: FRONT DISTANCE/RADAR SENSOR DEACTIVATES LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE COLLISION SAFETY FEATURES (FORWARD COLLISION WARNING, AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING AND INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL). THE SYSTEM WILL DEACTIVATE EITHER WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT. THE CAUSE SEEMS TO BE WHEN A VEHICLE IN THE LANE IN FRONT OF MY CAR MOVES INTO OR OUT OF THE LANE, I CHANGE LANES WITH A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, OR SOMETIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE IN FRONT HAS MOVED OUT OF RANGE. THE SYSTEM FAULTS ARE MORE PREVALENT DURING RAINING WEATHER, BUT HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE EVEN ON CLEAR SUNNY DAYS. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE DISTANCE/RADAR SENSOR AND OTHER ABS MODULES BUT HAS NOT REMEDIED THE SYSTEM FAULTS. THE DEALERSHIP CONTACTED THE NISSAN MOTOR CORPORATION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT WHICH DOES NOT HAVE A CURRENT FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AND INSTRUCTED THE DEALERSHIP TO 'TELL THE CUSTOMER THAT NISSAN WOULD CONTACT ME ONCE THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED'. AFTER 10 MONTHS, I AM STILL WAITING FOR NISSAN TO CALL, AND TO DELIVER A VERIFIED FIX TO THE COLLISION SAFETY FEATURES ON THE 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA. BY THE WAY, DURING MY MULTIPLE VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP, I HAVE DRIVEN MULTIPLE LOANER VEHICLES (VARIOUS MODELS) WHICH EXHIBIT THE SAME OR SIMILAR SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE COLLISION SAFETY FEATURES ON NISSAN VEHICLES FROM 2016 THROUGH 2018.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHERE IT STARTED TO RAIN AND I HYDROPLANED SLIGHTLY, SO I LET OFF THE GAS AND RECOVERED TO A STOP. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS THEN DEPLOYED DUE TO A "TILT ANGLE" BEING SENSED, WHILE ALL FOUR TIRES WERE STILL IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE HAD NO IMPACT, NO TILT, AND NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME WITH THE AIRBAGS TAPED TO THE CEILING. THE CAR WAS THEN SUBSEQUENTLY DRIVEN TO THE DEALERSHIP APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES AWAY WITH NO ISSUE. I SUBMIT THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN TO ANALYZE WHY THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, AND INFORMATION WAS PULLED FROM THE EDR. ALL I WAS TOLD WAS THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITHIN AN ALLOWABLE TIME FROM A "TILT ANGLE" BEING RECORDED. WHEN QUESTIONED, THE REPRESENTATIVE COULD NOT TELL ME HOW LONG THAT ALLOWABLE TIMEFRAME WAS, WHY A TILT ANGLE WAS RECORDED WHEN ALL FOUR TIRES WERE STILL IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND, AND COULD NOT TELL ME IF THE SENSORS THAT SEND DATA TO THE EDR WERE FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY (BUT I COULD PAY TO HAVE MY OWN DIAGNOSTICS RUN). ALSO, ACCORDING THE THE EDR REPORT, IN THE "PRE-CRASH" INFORMATION BEFORE THE EVENT OCCURRED, IT SHOWED THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY COME TO A FULL STOP PRIOR TO THE EVENT. I HAVE HAD PREVIOUS MINOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE RELATED TO THE RADIO AND MILEAGE TRACKING RESETTING THEMSELVES, WHICH I HAD RELATED TO NISSAN DURING THE INVESTIGATION, AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE AUTOMATIC WINDOW FALLING OPEN IN THE TRACK WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR. THIS INVESTIGATION HAS TAKEN TWO MONTHS, WITHOUT ANY EFFORT ON NISSAN'S PART TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY UPDATES. THE DEALERSHIP WAS ALSO TOLD NOT TO TOUCH THE VEHICLE TO EVEN THINK ABOUT REPAIRS, DURING WHICH TIME I AM STILL EXPECTED TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE I DON'T HAVE IN MY POSSESSION.

THE CAR IS BECOMES UNSTABLE AND DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, EVEN AT MODERATE SPEEDS (20+ MPH). WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, THERE IS A LOUD THUMP / CLUNK / BANG FROM THE REAR SUSPENSION - AND THEN THE REAR OF THE CAR LOOSES TRACTION/STABILITY. NISSAN MUST BE AWARE OF A DESIGN ISSUE ISSUE AS IT HAS ISSUED A TSB TRYING TO SOLVE THE INFERIOR BUSHINGS IT CHOSE FOR THE REAR SUSPENSION - SERVICE BULLETIN NTB17-107. HOWEVER THIS DOES NOT SOLVE THE INSTABILITY PROBLEM. I FIND MYSELF DRIVING AT HALF THE LEGAL SPEEDS TO KEEP THE CAR STABLE - THE NEED TO SLOW DOWN FOR EACH BUMP IS CREATING A ROAD HAZARD. DRIVING ON THE SAME ROADS WITH MY OTHER CARS AT MUCH HIGHER SPEEDS (ROAD LEGAL SPEEDS), I DO NOT EXPERIENCE ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THE STABILITY CONTROL FUNCTION DOES NOT SEEM TO HELP AND IT LIGHTS UP FREQUENTLY WHEN DRIVING ON BUMPY ROADS. I FOUND MYSELF VEERING OF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTY TO CONTROL THE CAR. THIS MUST BE A TERRIBLE AND DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW. IN ROADS THAT I CAN DRIVE THE LEGAL SPEED IN A HYUNDAI SONANA OR TOYOTA 4RUNNER (45 - 65MPH) I SOMETIMES NEED TO CUT SPEED IN HALF WHEN DRIVING THE NISSAN MAXIMA SR JUST TO KEEP THE CAR STABLE ON THE ROAD.
REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FAILS TO/DOES NOT CLOSE TIGHTLY/HERMETICALLY. I AM WORRIED THAT THE DOOR/WINDOW WOULD OPEN WHILE DRIVING.

THE ISSUE IS THE REAR END OF THE CAR SAGS WHEN THERE IS EITHER BACK SEAT PASSENGERS OR WEIGHT IN THE TRUNK NOW. WHILE THE CAR HAD THE ORIGINAL FACTORY WARRANTY, MULTIPLE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS COULD NOT FIND ANY ISSUES THAT WERE VISIBLE. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2019, NISSAN STATE'S I NEED NEW REAR SHOCKS TO FIX THE ISSUE. AFTER PURCHASING THE NEW SHOCKS FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND GETTING THEM INSTALLED, ISSUE STILL EXIST AND IT'S WORSE NOW THAN BEFORE
