I WAS DRIVING LOW SPEED AT SCHOOL ZONE WHEN DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. THERE WAS NO IMPACT, COLLISION OR ACCIDENT IN ANY WAY. TO MY OWN AMUSEMENT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT AIR BAGS DEPLOY LIKE THIS. BOTH CASES ARE VERY SIMILAR IF NOT EXACTLY THE SAME (DRIVING AT LOW SPEED AND... POOF!). I LIVE IN THE TROPICS WHERE IT'S HOT AND HUMID. I'VE HEARD SOME CARS ARE BEING RECALLED FOR THIS BUT OF COURSE, NOT MINE. I ASKED NISSAN IF I SHOULD WORRY ABOUT THESE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY BECAUSE AS I MENTIONED BEFORE BOTH CURTAINS AND SEATS WERE DEPLOYED THE SAME WAY, AND THEY TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY BECAUSE SENSOR WAS ALREADY "OFF" AND THERE WAS NO WAY THIS COULD HAPPEN. WELL... HERE I AM, MAKING SURE THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE INCIDENT AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... DON'T BUY NISSAN, THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE NOR COSTUMER FRIENDLY. BASICALLY YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN, THEY DON'T CARE AND DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT. SO DISAPPOINTED. I AM SO LUCKY TO BE UNHARMED WITH ALL OF THIS... TWICE! WHAT IF I WAS ON A HIGHWAY???? I WENT TO POLICE AND MADE REPORT, JUST LIKE THE FIRST TIME. NOTE: THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS IN FEBRUARY 2014, 8 MONTHS AGO. I JUST HOPE THERE ISN'T ANY OTHER AIR BAG WAITING TO DEPLOY IN THIS CAR, I STILL HAVEN'T OVERCOME THE PREVIOUS SHOCKS. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON A CURVY, GRAVEL ROAD I HAD JUST COME OUT OF A LEFT SIDED CURVE. THE VEHICLE STARTED SPINNING COUNTER CLOCKWISE TOWARDS A DITCH. I IMMEDIATELY STARTED TURNING MY WHEEL CLOCKWISE TO COMPENSATE AND REGAIN CONTROL. MY LEFT REAR TIRE LOST AIR WHICH I BELIEVE WAS THE REASON I COULD NOT REGAIN CONTROL. I ENDED UP IN A DITCH ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE PROBLEM IN HAND WAS THAT THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, HOWEVER THE PASSENGER SIDE DID DEPLOY. HAD THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AS IT SHOULD HAVE, I WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE. DUE TO THE MALFUNCTION OF THE AIRBAG MY DAUGHTER HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WHERE BY CRACKING HER 1ST AND 2ND RIB, RECEIVED A HEAD CONCUSSION, THORACIC BACK PAID, CERVICAL STRAIN-WHIPLASH, CHEST WALL CONTUSION,CONTUSIONS IN BOTH KNEES, INTRA-ABDOMINAL HEMATOMA'S AND HAS SUFFERED GREATLY. I HAVE NOTIFIED NISSAN AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR A FAULTY PRODUCT. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO ASSIST? SINCERELY, *TR
ON FRIDAY AUGUST 1, 2008 I WAS INVOLVED IN A THREE-CAR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. MY CAR WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT. MY VEHICLE SUBSEQUENTLY STRUCK A STOPPED SMALL TRUCK THAT WAS AHEAD OF ME. THERE WAS FRONT HEAD-ON COLLISION AS WELL AS REAR VEHICLE DAMAGE. MY VEHICLE WAS A 2003 NISSAN MURANO. THE ONLY INDIVIDUAL IN MY MURANO WAS MYSELF. THE UNOCCUPIED PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT MY DRIVER-SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS FAILURE FOR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT IS WHAT I AM REPORTING NOW. THE VEHICLE IS UNUSABLE AND HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A TOW YARD. *TR
DRIVERS SEAT MOUNTING BRACKET BROKE. SEAT ROCKS WHEN TURNING, BRAKING AND ACCELERATING. SEAT BELT IS ATTACHED TO THIS BRACKET. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY LOCKED AND WOULD NOT RELEASE WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE CONTACT MANAGED TO UNLOCK THE BUCKLE ASSEMBLY, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED. UPDATED 10/20/2006 - THE DEALER'S TECH DETERMINED IT WAS A FAULTY SEAT BELT RELEASE BELT TONGUE. *NM
IN OUR 2003 MURANO THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT CAME COMPLETELY UNATTACHED FROM THE MAIN SUPPORT. THE BOLT "RATTLED LOOSE." *JB
THE VEHICLE'S SEAT BELT WERE INOPERATIVE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. *NLM
PROBLEMS WITH RELEASE BUTTON ON SEAT BELT. THE REAR SEAT BELT TIGHTENED AND FAILED TO UNLOCK, WHICH CAUSED THE CHILD TO BE INJURED, THE SEAT BELT HAD TO BE CUT IN ORDER FOR THE CHILD TO BE RELEASED. *MR *TS *JB
WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH VEHICLE WA SINVOLVED IN A CRASH, AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
