I WAS DRIVING NISSAN MURANO ON A CITY STREET. THE "CHECK ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED AND PARKED. THEN IT HAD HARD TIME TO START. I KEPT HOLDING IGNITING AND STARTED THE CAR. THEN I DROVE TO GOODYEAR CAR SERVICE. THEY TOLD ME TO REPLACE CRANK SENSOR.
FAULTY WIRE ON THE ALTENATOR CAUSING THE BRAKE AND BATTERY LIGHT TO COME ON AND LOST POWER AND CAR DIED.
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AFTER IT HAD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON HIGHWAY. AFTER GETTING OUT OF MY VEHICLE AND PUSHING IT TO THE SIDE, THE VEHICLE FINALLY DROVE AWAY. BUT AFTER THIS THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A TRANSMISSION RATTLE IN WHICH NONE OF MY (4) MECHANICS CAN SEEM TO FIX. FAILURE AT 100,110K MILES. GLAD NISSAN IS MAKING MONEY WHILE WE SUFFER.
VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY STALLS ON TAKE OFF. PROBLEM NEVER WENT AWAY AFTER FIRST RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 25-30 MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE VEHICLE BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE WITHOUT WARNING. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR SUBFRAME WAS EXTREMELY CORRODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE UPPER CONTROL ARM SUBFRAME WAS DETACHED DUE TO CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,292.
BRAKE LIGHT WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BATTERY LIGHT. CAR LOOSES POWER AND WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS IT WILL NOT MOVE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I SEE A RECALL FOR THIS YEAR, BUT BEING TOLD NOT MY VEHICLE. WELL IT IS MY VEHICLE IN WHICH IT IS HAPPENING TO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE SURGED TO 40 MPH AND ALMOST CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO REMOVE HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A STRONG BURNING ODOR EMITTED FROM THE VENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A TRANSMISSION DEATH CODE CAME UP, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,650.
MY NISSAN MURANO SL HAD 35K MILES WHEN PURCHASED. COMPLAINED 5 TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT GROANING NOISE AND MAJOR OIL LEAK. MAJOR VIBRATIONS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AND PULLED OVER SO I COULDN'T DRIVE ANYMORE. BURNING SMELL OF OIL THAT WAS LEAKING FOR MONTHS AND WAS NOT NOTICED BY CERTIFIED MECHANICS. ALSO BUCKING MOTIONS. TOWED MURANO FOR REPAIR AND LATER DIAGNOSED AS TRANSFER CASE AND TAIL SHAFT DESTROYED. THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDED SLIGHT REPAIRS TOO WITH TRANSFER CASE. COST ~$3500
COIL SPRING ON RIGHT FRONT STRUT SPLIT AND DUG INTO TIRE CAUSING THE TIRE TO BLOW-OUT WHILE DRIVING. *TR
ON BUSY FAST CALIFORNIA FREEWAY WHEN TRAFFIC SLOWED, SO DID I, THEN I WENT TO SPEED UP TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC AND MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I WAS PRESSING ACCELERATOR AND MY CAR LITERALLY WAS NOT MOVING! MY CHECK SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON (NO WARNING, JUST NOW) I WAS SO SCARED! I PUT MY HAZARDS ON, AND I HAD TO DRIVE A FEW MILES GOING 25 MPH, AND MAKING MY WAY ACROSS LANES TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY TO SAFETY. ONCE OFF FREEWAY I PULLED OVER AND TURNED CAR OFF. WHEN ASSISTANCE ARRIVED MY NISSAN MURANO STARTED FINE AND APPEARED OK. I DROVE TO HOTEL AND AS I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION MAKING A LEFT TURN, I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND MY CAR DID NOT MOVE! IT THEN STALLED AND BY NOW THE LIGHT TURNED RED AND I WAS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION! I STARTED MY CAR AND IT ZOOMED PRETTY QUICK. PROBLEM IS, I CANNOT DRIVE A CAR I CANNOT TRUST. THIS IS A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN. I NOTICED SO MANY OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS, SO I WONDER WHY THIS VEHICLE WAS NEVER RECALLED FOR THIS?? I HAVE MAINTAINED MY MURANO VERY GOOD, I HAVE ALWAYS BACKED AND BELIEVED IN NISSAN- NOW I WONDER. ON XMA EVE IT DID THIS, AS I WENT TO PROCEED ON A GREEN LIGHT. IT WAS NIGHT, RAINING, WINDY AND MY CAR FINALLY DIED. I PUT ON HAZARDS, BUT I WAS IN DANGEROUS LOCATION- IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. I GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND WAITED FOR HELP. *TR
WHEN YOU RUNNING THE CAR SUDDENLY THE CAR LOST THE POWER AND STOP.
ALTERNATOR FAILURE MANY TIMES UNKNOWN REASON LAST TIME HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE A BUSY STREET DIED AND WON'T START SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED IN LESS THAN ONE WEEK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD WOBBLE AND THE ENGINE SERVICE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 224,000.
FROM NORMAL USAGE, THE FRONT SIDE DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE (IN 2016) FROM WHAT I BELIEVE IS A DEFECTIVE SEAT BRACKET. NOW THE SEAT WOBBLES AND ROCKS WHENEVER I AM DRIVING AND WHEN THE CAR MOVES SIDE TO SIDE AT ALL. SEAT BROKE UPON EXITING VEHICLE. I WEIGH 163 POUNDS AND AM THE PRIMARY DRIVER. NO SUDDEN MOVEMENT CREATED THE BREAK.
TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING AT 68K MILES. WHILE ON HIGHWAY ENGINE JUST STARTED FREE REVING. HAD TO COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD. NISSAN WILL NOT ASSIST IN REPAIR AS CAR IS OVER 10 YEARS OLD. DEALER WORKED ON TRANSFER CASE IN MAY; THOUGHT THEY REPORTED ALL WAS WELL.
I'D LIKE TO START BY SAYING THIS IS MY 3RD OR 4TH COMPLAINT PERTAINING TO THE SAME ISSUE AND I HAVE YET TO GET A RESPONSE. CUSTOMERS HAVE THE OPTION TO LIST THEIR COMPLAINTS, HOWEVER, I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER NOT TO MENTION SAFETY ISSUE. THERE'S NO RHYME OR REASON THIS MATTER SHOULD BE OVER LOOKED BY NO MEANS. ONCE AGAIN AS I AM DRIVING WITH MY KIDS THIS IS MY BIGGEST CONCERN WITH NISSAN, TRAFFIC IS FLOWING BUT HAVE STOP AND GO MOMENTS, SO AS I WAS AT A STOP MOMENT, THEN PROCEEDED TO GO, I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR AS I NORMALLY DO, PRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN, NOTHING, I REPEAT NOTHING HAPPENED MY CAR DIDN'T MOVE AT ALL, INSTEAD IT LOSS POWER, THE RPMS INCREASED THAT'S ABOUT ALL. MIND YOU I'M ON THE EXPRESSWAY I-55 WITH MAJORITY OF THE VEHICLES ARE SEMI-TRUCKS THIS IS VERY FRIGHTENING, NOT KNOWING WHEN THIS WILL OCCUR. ME AND MY KIDS LIFE ARE AT STAKE EACH AND EVERY TIME WE'RE IN THIS VEHICLE. NO ONE HAS REACHED OUT TO ME AND OTHER FAMILY'S I'M SURE, WHY? I DON'T KNOW. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, NO INDICATION THAT LOSS OF POWER IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN, AND OR WILL HAPPEN. I SAVED UP AND SPENT MY HARD EARNED MONEY BUYING THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE I HEARD THAT THE NISSAN NAME/BRAND WAS GOOD, RELIABLE, ETC. NOT SURE IF I BELIEVE THAT NOW AFTER THE MANY ISSUES AND CONCERNS I HAVE WITH MY NISSAN MURANO. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A DECISION THAT OBVIOUSLY THERE NEED TO BE A RECALL ON THE POWERTRAIN DUE TO CVT FAILURE. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE DECISION I MADE TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, TO THAT I DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF CONCERN FROM THE MAKER OF THIS VEHICLE. I'M HOPING THAT THIS MATTER GETS RESOLVED SOON BEFORE LIVES ARE LOST. NO FATALITIES SHOULD COME OF THIS IF THE ISSUE IS ADDRESSED NOW.
2004 MURANO WOULD NOT EXCEL AT STOP SIGNS/RED LIGHTS OR LOW SPEEDS. TESTED BY NISSAN DEALERSHIP, CODES SHOW TRANSMISSION GOING OUT. LOVE MY CLEAN, LOOKS LIKE NEW MURANO EVEN AT IT'S AGE AND 136,000 MILES. OWNED NISSAN'S SINCE LATE 80'S. NISSAN CORP. WILL NOT HELP WITH REPAIR. SO NOT FAIR. NISSAN KNOWS THEIR PRODUCT WAS INFERIOR. BEING FORCED TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE. REPAIRS ALMOST AS MUCH AS VEHICLE'S VALUE. I LOVED MY MURANO SO MUCH I TALKED THEM UP TO FRIENDS/FAMILY SO THEY PURCHASED NISSAN'S. OPPOSITE OPINION NOW!!! GOODBYE NISSAN!!!!! YOU HAVE HURT ME FINANCIALLY SO I HOPE TO DO THE SAME!!!!!
WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC MIND U A BIG TRUCK WAS BEHIND ME TRAFFIC IS STOP AND GO, AS I PRESS DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR THERE WAS NO MOVEMENT FROM MY VEHICLE, LIKE IT LOSS POWER, I THOUGH MAYBE THE GEAR WAS CHANGED, BUT THEN IT DAWNED ON ME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME NOT ONCE OR TWICE, BUT IT'S BEGINNING TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY THIS IS NOT NORMAL. I CONFIRMED THAT THE GEAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE, AS I PRESSED DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR MY VEHICLE JERKED AS IT PROCEEDED TO TAKE OFF (AS IF IT WAS IN TURBO BOOST), I COULD HAVE HIT SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR (GOOD THING I DIDN'T). THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER MANY, MANY LIVES ARE AT STAKE. I'M DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS MATTER HAVE NOT RAISED CORPORATE EYES AT NISSAN . THE REASON FOR THIS PAGE IS FOR CONSUMERS TO REPORT COMPLAINTS BUT IT SEEMS AS IF I'M NOT GETTING THE ANSWERING THAT'S NEEDED TO FIX THIS SERIOUS ISSUE AND NOR ARE THE OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE LISTED THEIR COMPLAINTS. THIS ISSUE SHOULD NOT BE ADDRESSED AFTER PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES BY HAVING/CAUSING ACCIDENTS DUE TO LOSS OF POWER. THIS IS SCARY FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. I GET NERVOUS WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND OR THE EXPRESSWAY NOT KNOWING WHEN THIS FAULTY POWER TRAIN ISSUE WILL HAPPEN. GOOD THING THAT BIG TRUCK DIDN'T RUN INTO THE BACK OF ME THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO JEOPARDIZE THEIR LIVES AND OTHERS. NISSAN SHOULD CORRECT THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY. HOW AND WHEN IS IT DETERMINED ON WHAT COMPLAINT GET ADDRESSED. DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER. ALSO, THE ACTUATORS ON MY PASSENGER SIDE BOTH FRONT AND BACK DOES NOT WORK THEY HAVE TO BE LOCKED MANUALLY ALONG WITH THE HATCH IT DOESN'T SEEM TO LOCK EITHER. THE ACTUATORS SHOULD NOT GO OUT AND SHOULD BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND DID NOT ACCELERATE. THE RPMS INCREASED, BUT DID NOT AFFECT THE POWER OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CVT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000....UPDATED 08/15/16 *BF *JS
WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF ACCELERATING MY VEHICLE FROM A STOP, I PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE, I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS OUT OF GEAR FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT IT DID NOT RESPOND WHEN PUSHING DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR; CLEARLY THAT WAS NOT THE CASE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN DRIVE. HOWEVER, I PUSHED ON IT AGAIN AN IT WAS BIG JERK BEFORE THE VEHICLE MOVED FORWARD.... THIS PROBLEM/ISSUE HAS BECOME VERY ANNOYING, BUT MOST OF ALL DANGEROUS AN ARE PEOPLE LIVES AT RISK AND JEOPARDY OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IT'S VERY SCARY DRIVING MY VEHICLE NOT KNOWING IF THE VEHICLE WILL OR WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY AS IT SHOULD. DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THIS MATTER BECOMES EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. IN ADDITION TO THAT WHEN PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE VERY LOUD, EACH AND EVERY TIME WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. I DO NOT LIKE PUTTING MY FAMILY'S LIFE AT RISK WHEN THEY'RE RIDING ALONG WITH ME. THIS ISSUE MUST AND NEED TO BE ADDRESS ASAP. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE THE FACT OF THE MATTER NISSAN AND OR THE NHTSA HAVE NOT RECALLED THE 2004 NISSAN MURANO TO CORRECT THIS SERIOUS MATTER. LORD AND BEHOLD IT SHOULDN'T TAKE ANYONE TO LOSE THEIR LIFE OR (LIVES) BEFORE THIS STALLING ISSUE IS CORRECTED. PEOPLE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE NISSAN IS KNOWN TO MAKE GOOD QUALITY VEHICLES AND HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO HAVE A GOOD REPUTATION FOR SAFETY. I'M BEGINNING TO SECOND GUESS THE QUALITY OF NISSAN VEHICLES. MY KIDS ARE EVERYTHING TO ME, SO WITH KIND REGARDS CAN THIS MATTER BE TAKEN SERIOUS. ALL LIVES MATTER.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 50MPH, WHEN SUDDENLY TRAFFIC CAME TO A HALT, WHEN I PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR, THERE SEEM TO BE LOSS POWER AND ACCELERATION WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS, I HAD MY 3 KIDS AND GRANDCHILD IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. AS I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR NOTHING HAPPENED THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE, GOOD THING A SEMI-TRUCK WASN'T BEHIND ME, WE ALL WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD. THIS IS SCARED ME AND MY FAMILY. AFTER WAITING ABOUT 2 OR MORE MINUTES THE CAR JUNKED AND LUNGED AT A HIGH SPEED I COULD HAVE RAN INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS IS BEGINNING TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENT NOW MAYBE 3-4 DAYS OR MORE OUT THE WEEK. STALLING AND LOSS OF POWER (NO RESPONSE) WHILE IN TRAFFIC; IS IN DEED A BIG FACTOR TO HAVE THIS MATTER LOOKED INTO. I'VE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SAME INCIDENT MY FAMILY AND I EXPERIENCED. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL REGARDING THIS MATTER. IN ADDITION, TO THAT THE ACTUATORS ON BOTH PASSENGER DOORS (FRONT AND BACK) DOESN'T WORK, IT HAS TO BE LOCKED MANUALLY. ALSO, THE HATCH LOCK DOESN'T LOCK THE HANDLE GETS STUCK.
I HAVE A 2004 MURANO AND THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP. YOU WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT FALLS DOWN IN YOUR FACE AND BLOCKS YOUR VISION. JUST TODAY I WAS DRIVING 70 DOWN A 6 LINE INTERSTATE AND IT FELL DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES. ME BEING 5'8" WHEN IT FALLS IT COMPLETELY BLOCKS MY VIEW AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME HAD SLAMMED THE BRAKES DUE TO AN OBJECT IN THE RD AND I WAS NEARLY INVOLVED IN A WRECK DUE TO THIS FAULTY SUN VISOR. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO FIX THESE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED DUE TO IT. AND I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. CAN SOMEONE ADVISE WHAT I CAN DO?? NISSAN PLEASE HELP BEFORE YOUR FAULTY SUN VISOR IS THE DEATH OF ME.

WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ACTIVATED, IT DRIPPED WATER. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS WATER NEAR THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FREON NEEDED TO BE FILLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
BOUGHT THE CAR USED AT ABOUT 110K IN DECEMBER 2015, HAD NO ISSUES AT ALL. FLASH FORWARD TO MAY 2ND 2016. AFTER SITTING IN START/STOP TRAFFIC FOR 20-30 MINUTES, THE TRAFFIC FINALLY STARTED TO FLOW, I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AND HAD A HORRIBLE, SHAKING, JERKING FROM THE VEHICLE. ABOUT 2 MILES LATER AFTER ARRIVING TO WORK AND TRYING TO TURN A CORNER AND APPLYING GAS AFTER THE CORNER, IT DID IT AGAIN, THIS TIME THOUGH IT CAUSED ME TO CLIP A BUMPER AROUND A CONCRETE BARRIER, THEN THE CAR LOST ALL POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. COULD NOT GET IT TO MOVE AT ALL. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALERSHIP, I FOUND OUT THE CVT HAD WENT OUT. I GUESS I CAN BE GLAD IT WENT OUT IN A PARKING GARAGE, BECAUSE IF IT WENT OUT WHERE THE INITIAL HESITATION HAPPENED, I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A WRECK. 7.3K CASH MONEY SPENT ON THE VEHICLE, BUYING OUTRIGHT FROM A DEALER, NOW WITH ME BEING ASKED TO SPEND ANOTHER 4.5K ON A PART THAT NISSAN HAD ACKNOWLEDGED TO BE AN ISSUE, BECAUSE THE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO 10 YEAR 120K WARRANTY. NEEDLESS TO SAY WITH ME BEING A FIRST TIME NISSAN BUYER AND BEING OUT THIS MUCH MONEY AND NO WAY TO COME UP WITH ANOTHER 4.5K, THIS WAS ALSO MY LAST NISSAN. PUT LESS THAN 2K ON IT WHEN I PURCHASED IT. AFTER DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR FOR A FEW SECONDS, THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL. I WAS INFORMED BY A NISSAN DEALER THAT THE CAUSE OF THE STALLING IS THE POWER TRAIN; THE COST OF WHICH TO REPLACE WILL BE UPWARDS OF $4000. AFTER DOING MY OWN RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT THE ISSUES I AM EXPERIENCING IS COMMON TO MURANOS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 2003-2009 AND THAT NISSAN HAS STEADFASTLY REFUSED TO RECALL THE VEHICLES AND FIX THESE FAULTY CVTS. THIS IS QUITE PERPLEXING AS MANY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR ISSUES. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS COSTLY REPAIR AND I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THE CAR. BECAUSE THIS IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM AND A GREAT SAFETY ISSUE, NISSAN NEEDS TO BE FORCED TO RECALL THESE CARS AND REPLACE THE PART THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM!

THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR IS DEFECTIVE. EVERY TIME I GO OVER A BUMP IT FALLS DOWN INTO MY FIELD OF VIEW. WHEN I PUT THE VISOR DOWN TO BLOCK THE SUN FROM BEING IN MY EYES IT FALLS TO A STRAIGHT DOWN POSITION AND BLOCKS MY VIEW. THERE IS NO POSITION THAT WORKS ON THIS VISOR NOW. ROLLED THE WINDOWS BACK UP & CLOSED THE DOOR & WINDOWS ROLLED DOWN AGAIN. THE ALARM WENT OFF AGAIN. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE +BATTERY CABLE TO GET IT TO STOP. I RECONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLE & THE ALARM STARTED GOING OFF AGAIN. I HAD TO LOCK THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, RECONNECT THE +BATTERY CABLE & UNLOCK THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WITH THE KEY. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT IN TO A REPAIR SHOP YET. THAT'S NEXT...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH IN THE PARKING GARAGE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS TAPPED. THE CONTRACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, BUT IT HAD LITTLE EFFECT. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A WALL. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT AND HIS WIFE SUSTAINED FRACTURED RIBS AND SPINE INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
