I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. IN DECEMBER OF 2010 I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WAS AS LOW, AND REFILLED IT. THREE DAYS LATER A NOTICED A LEAK UNDER THE CAR WHERE I PARKED, AND THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY AGAIN. SINCE THEN I HAVE FOUND OUT THE HIGH PRESSURE HOSE TO THE POWER STEERING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR HAS ONLY 52,000 MILES ON IT. I DID SOME INVESTIGATION ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS CAR. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE FOR NISSAN.
2006 NISSAN MURANO, BROKEN DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME. FAILED WHILE DRIVING, TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION. TEMPORARILY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND ALMOST HIT AN ONCOMING CAR. THE SEAT FRAME REPAIR COST AT THE DEALER IS NEARLY $1,400. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE REPAIR CITING IT NOT BEING THE SAFETY HAZARD AND THAT THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THIS IS A PART THAT SHOULD NEVER BREAK ON A VEHICLE, LET ALONE A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. I AM SERIOUSLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE ABILITY OF THE SEAT TO MAINTAIN ITS STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. DUE TO THE SAFETY CONCERN THAT I HAVE WITH THIS SEAT AND WHAT COULD POTENTIALLY HAPPEN IN AN ACCIDENT, I WILL BE SELLING IT WHEN I HAVE IT PAID FOR IN A FEW SHORT MONTHS AND WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE. NISSAN'S HANDLING OF THIS ISSUE HAS COST THEM MY FUTURE BUSINESS. I DID SOME INTERNET RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE WHICH LED ME TO THIS SITE AS WELL AS UNCOVERED A HOST OF THE VERY SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER MURANOS. IT APPEARS TO BE A SYSTEMATIC PROBLEM WITH MURANOS OF THIS VINTAGE. NISSAN DOES NOT AGREE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. FRONT DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BRACKET BROKE WHILE DRIVING THE SEAT IS INSTABLE AND ROCKS WHEN MAKING TURNS
UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE IT WAS NOTICED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS FLASHING ON THE CONSOLE. ON 12/8/2010 CONTACTED NISSAN DEALERSHIP, WRIGHT AUTOMOTIVE - WEXFORD, PA, AND SERVICE AGENT ADVISED THE EARLIEST THEY COULD SEE THE VEHICLE WAS12/13/2010 AND THAT THE AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY WHILE THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS FLASHING. UPON TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP SERVICE AGENT ADVISED HE HAS NOT SEEN THIS ISSUE IN THE 2 YEARS HE'S BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP AND ADVISED THERE IS NO RECALL OR KNOWN TSB. SERVICE ORDER INDICATED A CODE OF B1054 WHICH MEANS 'DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG OPEN'. THUS, THEY RECOMMENDED 'REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE' FOR A TOTAL COST OF $371.88. I PAID $69.95 DIAGNOSTIC FEE, $197 SPIRAL CABLE, AND $18.69 TAX AND PENDING PAYMENT OF $104.93 LABOR COST TO REPLACE PART. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ON THE WEB THE FOLLOWING WAS UNCOVERED: SEVERAL MURANO OWNERS, CROSSING MODEL YEARS, HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE AND TWO SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS. THE FIRST SOLUTION STATES TO PERFORM A RESET BY TURNING THE VEHICLE FROM 'OFF' TO 'ON' THREE TIMES WHILE COUNTING TO 5 DURING THE 'OFF' TIME. THIS SOLUTION WORKED FOR SEVERAL OWNERS. THE SECOND SOLUTION IDENTIFIED BY ONE OWNER SAID REPLACEMENT OF THE 'SEAT BELT PRE TENSIONER', WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY COVERED UNDER A RECALL FOR A 2005 MURANO, SOLVED THE IDENTIFIED ISSUE. WE CHOOSE TO PERFORM A SELF 'RESET' ON 12/13/2010 WHICH WAS SUBSEQUENT TO DEALERSHIP ANALYSIS PAYMENT OF $266.95 (DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND SPECIAL PART ORDER). UPON DISCUSSING THE 'RESET' WITH NISSAN SERVICE AGENT, HE SUGGESTED EITHER RETURN SPECIAL ORDER PART AND PAY RESTOCKING FEE OR KEEP THE PART SINCE HE BELIEVES THE LIGHT WILL BEGIN FLASHING AGAIN. SINCE PERFORMING THE 'RESET' THE FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT HAS NOT RETURNED. NISSAN NEEDS TO DETERMINE IF THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND ISSUE A RECALL OR IF THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE THEN NISSAN SHOULD DOCUMENT A TSB SOLUTION.
THE DRIVER'S SEAT SUDDENLY ROLLED BACK AND SANK DOWN WHEN I WAS DRIVING CAUSING ME TO ALMOST LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR. THERE ALSO WAS A LOUD SNAPPING SOUND. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE REAR LEFT BRACKET SUPPORTING THE DRIVER SEAT FRACTURED. *TR
DRIVERS SEAT OF 2006 NISSAN MURANO SL STARTED TO COME LOOSE TO THE POINT OF NOT BEING SAFE IN A 2 DAY PERIOD WHILE COMING HOME FROM VACATION. THIS IS ON A VEHICLE THAT ONLY HAS 36000 MILES ON IT. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, I FIND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS BEING WRITTEN ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE 2006 AND SOME OF THE NEARLY CAUSING SEVERE INJURY. *TR
THE MOUNT UNDER THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT SUDDENLY BROKE AND DETACHED FROM THE FRAME. IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE/OPERATE THE VEHICLE SINCE THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS LEANING SEVERLY TO THE LEFT AND MOVING AROUND. IF THERE HAD BEEN AN ACCIDENT, THE SEAT WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY BECOME COMPLETELY SEPERATED FROM THE CAR SINCE THERE WAS ONLY 1 BRACKET HOLDING IT ON INSTEAD OF 2.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 28 MPH THE DRIVERS SEAT STARTED SQUEAKING FOLLOWED BY A LOUD POPPING SOUND. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND CHECKED UNDERNEATH THE SEAT AND NOTICED THAT THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS BROKEN. THE SEAT LEANED TOWARDS THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THERE WAS NO SUPPORT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE WELDING ON THE BASE OF THE SEAT WAS BROKEN AND QUOTED HER THE REPAIR COST. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED NISSAN AND SHE WAS EXPECTING A RETURN CALL FROM THEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
THE DRIVERS SEAT LEFT ATTACHMENT BRACKET FAILED IN THE BENT PORTION OF THE BRACKET. THE SEAT IS UNSTABLE. THE SEAT POSITIONING SYSTEM IS STILL OPERABLE. IN AN ACCIDENT, THE SEAT WOULD NOT BE RESTRAINED. *TR

2006, NISSAN MURANO, DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT FRAME HAS BROKEN. IT WOBBLES AS I DRIVE.THE SEAT BRACKET ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT BROKE AND NOW THE SEAT ROCKS AROUND WHEN DRIVING IT. THE ELECTRIC CONTROLS STILL WORK, BUT THE SEAT ROCKS SEVERELY WHEN MAKING A TURN OR DRIVING ON A BUMPY ROAD. I CALLED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME IT WOULD COST 1100 TO REPLACE THE SEAT. IF THEY LOOKED AT IT TO CONFIRM THAT IT IS BROKEN, THEY WOULD CHARGE ME 105. *TR
WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC I HEARD A SLIGHT "POP" SOUND AT WHICH POINT THE POWER DRIVER'S SEAT DROPPED TOWARDS THE DOOR. I TRIED READJUSTING THE SEAT BUT AS I TRIED TO RAISE THE SEAT THE LEFT SIDE WOULD NOT COME BACK TO LEVEL. AFTER PARKING THE CAR, I LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT TO FIND THE SEAT BRACKET WAS BROKEN. I WAS SURPRISED HOW LONG IT HAD LASTED WITHOUT BRAKING AFTER OBSERVING HOW SMALL GAUGE OF METAL USED. HAD THIS HAPPENED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE, THERE IS A GOOD POSSIBILITY OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2006 MURANO FROM NISSAN OF GARDEN CITY AROUND JULY OF 2010, AFTER FILING OUT THE PAPERWORK FOR IT I NOTICED WHEN I GOT INTO THE CAR THE SEAT FELT ODD. I ASKED THE REP WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT HE SAID "OOOHH GET BRING IT BACK TOMORROW WE WILL GET IT CHECKED OUT FREE OF CHARGE". THOSE WERE HIS EXACT WORDS. I SAID OKAY NO BIG DEAL, TOOK THE VEHICLE DOWN THE NEXT MORNING LET THEM LOOK AT IT I RECEIVED A CALL TELLING ME THE SEAT FRAME NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THEY REPLACED IT FOR FREE. MONTHS GO NO ISSUE UNTIL ONE DAY I'M DRIVING WITH MY NEPHEW IN THE BACK AND I GO TO TAKE A TURN AND THE SEAT FRAME SNAPPED AGAIN NEARLY CAUSING ME TO HIT THE CAR IN THE OTHER LANE. I FOUND A PLACE TO PULL OVER AND LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT AND NOTICED THE FRAME WAS BROKEN AGAIN. I PROCEEDED TO CALL MY DEALER I TALKED TO THE REP HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO SEE IF IT'S UNDER WARRANTY, HE SAID HE WOULD CALL ME BACK HE NEVER DID. EXTREMELY VEX I CALLED NISSAN TALKED TO A REP THE FIRST TIME COMPLETE BONE HEAD. TALKED TO ANOTHER REP NAMED YOLANDA BROWN SHE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN TO THEM, I HAVEN'T DONE THIS YET BECAUSE SCHOOL IS NOW IN SESSION AND I'M TIED UP, HOWEVER I WILL BE TAKING IT DOWN THERE THIS WEEK. I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH ON THIS FAILURE OF A DESIGN FOR A SEAT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW NISSAN COULD PUT SUCH A POOR QUALITY PRODUCT IN THEIR CAR. WHEREVER I LOOK EVERYONE IS SAYING TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL MECHANIC AND LET HIM WELD IT OR FABRICATE A PART FOR YOU. IF THINGS DO NOT WORK OUT WITH NISSAN I MIGHT GO THAT ROUTE. HOWEVER IT'S BEEN NOTED TO NISSAN THAT IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS PART FAILING I WILL SUE THEM. *LN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO AN ICE BANK. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED, BUT AFTER CHECKING THE INTERNET FOUND IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE MY FIANCE NOTICED THAT THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS "WIGGLING" AND DIDN'T SEEM RIGHT. WE BROUGHT IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT THE RAIL THAT HOLDS THE SEAT IN PLACE HAD BROKE. THEY WELDED IT BUT STATED IT MAY HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR
2006 NISSAN MURANO. PROBLEM BEGAN ~40K MILEAGE. DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR WILL NO LONGER STAY IN UP POSITION FOR MORE THAN FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING, LESS IF ANY BUMPS IN THE ROAD. THE VISOR CANNOT BE SET TO HOLD ANY POSITION OTHER THAN VERTICAL AT 90 DEGREES, CAUSING SEVERE DIMINISHED VISIBILITY. VISOR WILL DROP WITHOUT WARNING CREATING HAZARD. REPAIR ESTIMATE IS $400. HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO LOCATE USED PART FOR REPLACEMENT. VISOR TEMPORARILY HELD IN PLACE WITH PACKAGE SEALING TAPE, BUT THIS TOO IS A HAZARD IF NEEDING TO USE VISOR TO SHIELD DIRECT SUNLIGHT. HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOUND ON INTERNET SEARCH. APPEARS TO BE FAULTY PART FROM NISSAN. SEVERE ACCIDENTS ARE ONLY A MATTER OF TIME.
DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HAS FAILED. THE VISOR WILL NO LONGER STAY IN AN UP POSITION THIS PROBLEM INTERFERES WITH MY VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. TODAY I TOOK MY MURANO IN FOR SERVICE WAS TOLD BY THE NISSAN SERVICE CENTER THAT IT WOULD COST ME $420 TO REPLACE THE VISOR. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. NISSAN SHOULD BE RECALLING AND REPLACING THESE VISORS IMMEDIATELY.
DRIVING A NISSAN 2006 MURANO AND HEAR A LOUD PING FROM UNDERNEATH THE DRIVERS SEAT. SUDDENLY THE SEAT IS TILTING TOWARDS THE DOOR AND FEELS UNSTABLE. THE SEAT NOW MOVES WHILE DRIVING. CAR HAS ABOUT 90K MILES ON IT WHEN IT HAPPENED. *TR

2006 NISSAN MURANO WITH APPROXIMATELY 76,000 MILES ON IT. POWER STEERING LEAKAGE IDENTIFIED BY STAIN ON DRIVEWAY, AS WELL AS NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. DEALER DETERMINED THAT CAUSE OF THE LEAK IS A FAILURE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE FOR THE POWER STEERING PUMP. DEALER CHARGED $750 TO INSTALL A NEW HOSE. THIS HAS TO BE THE MOST EXPENSIVE HOSE ON ANY CAR. CONCERN IS THAT TOTAL FAILURE CAN CAUSE A SURPRISE LOSS OF STEERING RESULTING IN A CRASH. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE. *TR
LIFTGATE LOCK/UNLOCK MECHANISM WILL NOT ENGAGE WITH REMOTE OR FROM OUTSIDE BUTTON. ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK IS TO JUMP INTO CAR AND MANUALLY UNLOCK IT FROM INSIDE (AFTER REMOVING PANEL FOR LOCK MECHANISM). *TR
THE DRIVERS SEAT OF MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO CRACKED AT THE WELD IN THE FRAME CAUSING THE SEAT TO DROP AT A STEEP ANGLE IN THE BACK. FORTUNATELY THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I WAS GETTING IN THE VEHICLE RATHER THAN WHEN I WAS DRIVING AS IT SURELY WOULD HAVE CAUSED A EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNDRIVEABLE SITUATION. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER CONCURRED THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE, HOWEVER NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR, NOR THE COST OF REPLACEMENT TRANSPORTATION WHILE THE APPROPRIATE PARTS WERE ORDERED AND INSTALLED WHICH SPANNED SEVERAL DAYS. I AM EXTREMELY DISPLEASED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF DEALING WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT. *TR

2006 NISSAN MURANO; DRIVER'S SEAT FELL DOWN AT THE REAR OF THE SEAT. DEALER STATES THAT IT IS A COMMONLY KNOWN FAILURE OF THE SEAT'S "LIFT ASSEMBLY". THANKFULLY, I WAS ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AND NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE NEARBY WHEN IT HAPPENED. I SWERVED AT THE TIME AND STRAINED TO PULL OVER SAFELY B/C I COULDN'T REACH THE PEDALS VERY WELL WITH THE SEAT IN THE AWKWARD POSITION IT WAS IN. FOR SURE, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER, AND IS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN ON MANY VEHICLES. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT POOR MANUFACTURING IS TO BLAME. REALLY, THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED. WHAT A DANGER! *TR
BRACKET ON FRONT DRIVERS SEAT BROKEN AND SEAT FALLS TO THE LEFT, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
2006 NISSAN MURANO WITH APPROXIMATELY 66,000 MILES ON IT. POWER STEERING LEAKAGE IDENTIFIED BY STAIN ON DRIVEWAY, AS WELL AS NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WITH LOW FLUID, STEERING IS SLUGGISH AT ALL SPEEDS. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT CAUSE OF THE LEAK IS A FAILURE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE FOR THE POWER STEERING PUMP. CURRENT REMEDY IS TO ADD ROUGHLY A HALF PINT OF POWER STEERING FLUID EVERY FEW DAYS, AND AVOIDING DRIVING THE VEHICLE. NUMEROUS FAILURES OF THIS PART ARE DOCUMENTED ON WEB FORUMS, NHTSA SITE, AS WELL AS BEING COMMON KNOWLEDGE AMONG THE MECHANICS NETWORK. CONCERN IS THAT TOTAL FAILURE CAN CAUSE A SURPRISE LOSS OF STEERING RESULTING IN A CRASH. *TR

2006 NISSAN MURANO DRIVERS SIDE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP. THE SPRING THAT HOLDS IT IN PLACE HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND MADE IT SAFETY ISSUE AS I CANNOT SEE THE STREET LIGHTS IN FRONT OF ME WHEN I AM AT A STOP LIGHT. IF I PUT IT TO THE SIDE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY IT IS IN THE WAY OF MY SIDE VISION. *TR
DRIVERS' SIDE SEAT LIFTER LINK FAILED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SWERVE AT 40MPH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SEAT WAS FRACTURED ON THE LEFT SIDE NEAR THE BRACKETS AND THE SEAT WAS LEANING TO ONE SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE THE PROCEDURE FOR REPAIRING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. BROKEN SEAT TRACK 2006 NISSAN MURANO S MODEL AWD. VERY COMMON ISSUE APPARENTLY. DRIVER SIDE SEAT TRACK ASSEMBLY BROKE AND CAUSES THE SEAT TO WOBBLE IN AN UNSAFE MANNER. *TR
DRIVER'S SEAT REAR TUBE IS BROKEN ON LEFT SIDE AFTER 82 KMILES OF NORMAL DRIVING ON PAVED ROADS ONLY, MOSTLY HIGHWAY. BOTH DRIVERS WEIGH LESS THAN 190 LBS. MATERIAL STRENGTH / THICKNESS IS INSUFFICIENT FOR THE LOADS THE TUBE NEEDS TO CARRY AT THAT LOCATION. THE WHOLE SEAT (CUSHION AND BACKREST) ROTATES UP/DOWN ABOUT THE FRONT AND TO THE LEFT APPROX. 4-5 INCHES WHEN THE BACKREST IS PUSHED LIGHTLY TOWARD MID CAR DIRECTION. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. IT'S SURPRISING THAT THE SEAT PASSED FMVSS 208/301 (DYNAMIC FRONT AND REAR CRASH TESTS) DURING DV AND PV. OK SO NEW CAREFULLY ASSEMBLED SEAT FRAMES MUST HAVE PASSED THOSE TESTS, BUT ISN'T NISSAN ALSO RESPONSIBLE TO ENSURE THE BUILT-IN SEAT SAFETY FACTOR IS HIGH ENOUGH TO OVERCOME MANUFACTURING TOLERANCES AND FATIGUE ISSUES FROM NORMAL DRIVING FOR PRODUCTION SEAT FRAMES SUCH THAT UNDER A FRONT OR A REAR CRASH EVENT THE SEATS ACTUALLY DO PROVIDE SOME PROTECTION AND AT LEAST DO NOT INCREASE THE DANGER TO THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGERS? THIS IS FAULTY ENGINEERING. THERE ARE MANY CASES FOR PRE-2008 MODEL MURANO WITH THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND, I ASSUME, IN YOUR DATABASE. TO ENSURE NISSAN AND OTHER VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS DESIGN FOR FATIGUE, MANUFACTURING TOLERANCES AND/OR QUALITY, NHTSA SHOULD PROMPT A SAFETY RECALL. GOT IN 2006 NISSAN MURANO AND SAT ON DRIVER'S SEAT WHEN THE SEAT COLLAPSED TO THE LEFT SIDE AND REAR OF THE SEAT. HAD THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY STARTLING AND CAUSE A COLLISION. I TOOK IT IN TO NISSAN DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT. THEY SAID THEY HAD SEEN AND REPAIRED SEVERAL OTHERS. THEY INDICATED ON THE RECEIPT THAT "FOUND THAT THE SEAT FRAME HAD BROKEN ON THE WELD ON THE LEFT REAR OF THE SEAT. REMOVED AND REPAIRED SEAT AND WELDED THE FRAME BACK TOGETHER". *TR

ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CONTROL ARMS AND MOTOR MOUNTS WERE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE SEAT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

WHEN PLACED IN THE UP, LOCKED IN POSITION (NOT IN USE) IT PULLS AWAY AND HANGS LOOSELY. WHEN PLACED DOWNWARD TO BLOCK THE SUN THE VISOR DOES NOT STAY IN A LOCKED AND ANGLED POSITION. TURNED ON MY CAR AND FOUND A LOUD RACKETING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. KEPT DRIVING CAR UNTIL MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME COMPLETELY LOCKED, LUCKILY I WAS NEAR A SEARS AND HAD IT LOOKED AT. DIAGNOSED IT AS A LEAK IN MY POWER STEERING HOSE. THEY ADDED POWER STEERING FLUID AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. AFTER 24 HOURS, THE STEERING FLUID THEY HAD ADDED HAD COMPLETELY LEAKED TO A PUDDLE UNDER MY CAR AND MY WHEEL WAS LOCKED AGAIN. I HAVE HAD 2 OTHER FRIENDS WITH THE EXACT SAME CAR AND THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
