UNKNOWN: Unable to locate vehicle to fixed problemed parts
Had previously felt some shaking in car as accelerating on roadway. Did not realize at that time the my rear subframe was rusting out. When Murano was parked in driveway noticed that the back wheels where turned inward. After inspecting car found that there was a lot of rust on my rear subframe making it unsafe to use this vehicle anymore. Cost of repairs are well over 2,000. This vehicle had just turned 100k miles when this happened.
Unknown- I was driving and felt the car wobble but didn’t know what it was, when I got home noticed my back wheels ware sticking out,and I was scare,I had a mechanic look at it in my driveway because I’am afraid to drive it,and the mechanic said that it was rusted and I shouldn’t drive it cause I could cause a accident,I pick up my kids every day from school and I been asking for help picking them up,please help, this is the only car I have and my only way to bring and pick up my kids from school

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who discovered a massive hole on the subframe due to excessive corrosion. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer where it was purchased where it remained in their possession awaiting an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred him to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 83,314.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH, the rear subframe detached from the vehicle due to rust. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, a diagnostic test was not performed. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Update by owner: Car was repaired by a local shop at a cost of nearly $2000. Nissan America Customer Service stated this is their first complaint regarding this rear subframe (crossmember) failure. This was a false statement from Nissan consumer stated she knew of others who have filed formal complaints regarding the failure of this component. Since purchasing this vehicle, consumer heard these components have a high failure rate in regions where road salt is used in winter months, which comprises the majority of the U.S. Nearly a total loss of control occurs when this component fails due to gross misalignment of rear tires after failure, and my experience was fortunately at 20 mph.
Noticed bowing of my rear tires. Looked under car and noticed a lot of rust. Spoke to mechanic who said this is a known issues with murano-in particular corrosion if the rear subframe.
The rear subframe rusted off on drivers side. I financed this car only 10 months ago and now I can not drive it. It is very dangerous to drive, and the mechanic told me I should no longer drive it because of how dangerous it is. I have seen numerous complaints about people having the same rear subframe rusting. I can not afford to get it fixed and I’m still paying on the car. I got it for $7,500 and have put over $2,000 in it. I still have $4,500 left on it. They need a recall, this is a safety hazard for not only the driver and passengers, but for civilians walking or driving by the car, which at any moment the tire can fly off. Please recall the vehicles before someone puts in a lawsuit.
REAR SUBFRAME RUSTED/ROT. UNSAFE TO DRIVE. BOTH REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT ARE THROWN OFF AND WHEELS ARE BENT INWARDS. FURTHER DRIVING CAN CAUSE REAR SUBFRAME TO COLLAPSE AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND DRIVER/PASSENGER. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE MADE IMMEDIATELY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE
I see the air bag light on and won't turn off for about almost a week and a half after i Purchase it a week later this year and it lightly shakes when I put on drive ,don't know if that will be another issue . Hopefully I can have your company gide me in the right direction to solve this problem .
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, a thumping noise was heard coming from the rear of the vehicle and the rear driver’s and passenger’s side tires had turned inward. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with rear suspension failure from the rear subframe rusting. The vehicle was repaired but needed an alignment. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000.
Hello, i would like to report a problem. Didnt really see anything about transmission on the choices listed above. Well i got this car used from someone. Didnt really noticed the transmission problem until i was driving it for a while on the freeway. The transmission is just so bad . It is stuck on 3rd gear all the way. At high speeds. So imagine, the engine is whining so bad. The car basically wants to give up now. Still starts, revers, goes foward with no problem. Shifting is the problem. Also, ive checked the transmission fluid. Its still at a perfect level. Yes, it has roughly 129,000 miles on it. But really? This car should be lasting longer. Please. I really dont want to pay out of pocket for a whole new transmission. Theres got to be a way or something you guys could do to help me and my family.
K frame rust, wheels tilting not safe to drive. Rest of vehicle fine,to bad this is not a recall. Really like vehicle otherwise.
The metal used to make the k frame on the nissan murano has failed. It has lead to numerous problems with this year of muranos. I believe Nissan should be responsible for fixing this problem. It is a huge safety problem and could kill someone.
Had driveshaft put on and asked mechanic to put sway links on that I had purchased. He called after putting driveshaft on and stated he couldn’t put sway links on until the sub frame was fixed due to it being rusted out and broke. He took a video to show me. He said the part would have to be ordered from Nissan and taken somewhere because he doesn’t do that kind of work. I took it to another garage abd they put up on the rack abd confirmed the sub frame was broke and needed replaced.
Crossover member is severely deteriorated and sway bar has broken out of the rear crossover member on both sides. Car only has 92,000 miles on it. Lower control arm can come lose and causing the wheel to detach from car. Sway bar was dragging the ground and upon inspection, noticed the deteriorated rear crossover.
THE REAR K FRAME (SUB-FRAME) OF THE VEHICLE IS RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH ON BOTH SIDES - THE REAR TIRES SLANT OUTWARD AT BOTTOM & MY GOOD TIRES NOW SQUEEL WHILE GOING AROUND TURNS - ONE SIDE OF THE REAR STABALIZER BAR IS NOW DETACHED FROM ALL THE RUST. THIS VEHICAL IS NO LONGER SAFE TO BE DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I SEE MANY SUCH REPORTS BUT CAN FIND ANY EVIDENCE OF A RECALL BY NISSAN - WHY IS THAT ?
Recently my 2007 Nissan Murano was dragging a little on slow speeds. I checked the wheels and found the driver's side rear brake had more brake dust then the other side. I pulled the wheels and found that the brake caliper was froze. I bought two "new" calipers and rotors and replaced them. I then used an Air driven suction device to replace all the fluid in the system and bleed the air out of the system. When I started it up the brake pedal was very spongy so I brought to the local tire Kingdom about 1/2 mile away and let them bleed it out. They stated that the master cylinder was now no good. I purchased a "new" master cylinder installed it, and re-bleed the system. The pedal was still dangerously spongy and low so on 06/14/202I the vehicle to the local Nissan dealer. After a few days they stated that the "ABS Brake Actuator" was not functioning. I questioned why the ABS warning light didn't come on and they didn't know. The dealer said the part was no longer available new so hey offered to get one from LKQ scrap yard for $780.00 and for $220.00 more it would be covered for a year. I looked into the issue and found that the 2009 Murano's were recalled for this issue, so I inquired what year was the part coming out of. They didn't know so I got one on my own from the exact same vehicle and brought to them to install. A few days later they stated that the new "Master Cylinder" was defective. I went back to Nappa Auto and bought another one and gave to them to install and re-bleed the system. My question is a vehicle with an ABS warning light a Brake System warning light and even just a Engine check light never came on, why not? The dealer has no answer for me and I am concerned that this will happen again and possibly at a higher rate of speed. Can you investigate this incident for me? Thank you for your time and consideration.
Upon driving my vehicle, my ABS and AWD lights came on and it felt as though the abs brakes were engaging, despite being on a flat, dry road driving at low speed. My car was making a very slight, difficult to hear noise coming from the rear, a knocking noise of sorts. I also began hearing a high pitched, whirring noise as well, though I could not identify the location or source. Upon inspection by a mechanic, I was informed that 1. The rear subframe was rusted and would need to be replaced as it was causing the control arms to move when they should not. 2. Front driver's side wheel bearing was causing the high pitched "whirring noise" and needed to be replaced. I was told to take vehicle to a body shop to repair the subframe problem. I had the front wheel bearing replaced at the auto mechanic. However, the high pitched noise that I was told was caused by the bearing, still persisted. I then decided to tow the vehicle to the body shop as upon visual inspection under my vehicle, the rear sway bar was resting on my exhaust and I felt it u safe to drive. Spoke with the body shop owner the next day, he informed me that my car was very unsafe and could not be driven because the rear subframe was so rusted and corroded, there "is practically nothing left to it." Body shop owner said that this could result in a dangerous, possibly fatal accident.
Purchased vehicle about 8 months ago, tires needed replaced badly a few weeks ago. During the change I was advised vehicle needed a wheel alignment due to tires going inward. Well today after picking up vehicle I was informed my rear sub frame of vehicle is severely corroded and unsafe to drive, rear body bushings are basically holding up by nothing. After visiting website this seems to be a common finding this year. My thoughts would be they stop selling this year and manner of vehicle due to safety concerns
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that a power steering fluid leak was initially discovered on her vehicle and the power steering hose was replaced. The contact then stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shut off without warning. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where she was informed that the power steering pump was defective and needed to be replaced. The failure persisted after the repair and the vehicle was later diagnosed by the same dealer with a defective camshaft and catalytic converter. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Rear Subframe rusted/corrision causing the rear wheels to turn inward.
Subframe rust.
THE REAR SUB FRAME IS COMPLETELY RUSTED IN TWO. THE REAR SWAY BAR FELL OFF IN THE HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE WITH A SALVAGED TITLE. AFTER WAITING A MONTH I GOT IT. THERE WERE NO DETAILS AS TO WHY IT WAS SALVAGE. THERE WERE NO BOXES CHECKED AS FAR AS PARTS BEING REPLACED OR FIXED. ODOMETER SAID 69000. THE VEHICLE IS STILL BRAND NEW BUT REALLY ITS NOT. IT TAKES ON WATER. BAD. UNDER THE HOOD IT HAS NO AIR FILTER. THE BREATHERBOX ISNT EVEN CLAMPED DOWN. NO HISE FROM RAD TO BOX TO ADJUST AIR FLOW FOR THE MASS AF SENSOR. THE WW FILL BOTTLE HAS A HOLE. NO FLUID CAN BE ADDED. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD ISNT AIRTIGHT. IT LEAKS BAD. THERE ARE NO HEADLIGHTS. I DISCOVERED THIS WHEN I NEEDED THEM. THE INSIDE IS OVERCOME WITH MILDEW SMELL. THE AIRBAGDOESNT WORK. HECK NOT CONNECTED. THE LAST INSPECTION STICKER SAID 2020. WHEN SEARCHIMG THE VIN THERES NO I DO TO BE HAD. THE TRIM ARIUND THE FOG LAMPS WAS NEVER FINISHED. THE CATCH PLAYE WASNT EVER ADDED. IT FAILED INSPECTION. AND THE PLACE I BOUGHT IT IS A LICENSED SHOP BIT THEY SENT ME DOWN THE ROAD. DIDNT WAMT THEIR NAME ON THE PAPER I GUESS. THE AC DOESNT WORK RIGHT. I BELIEVE IT TO BE ELECTRICAL. AND THJS WAS SOLD TO ME AS A USED VEHICLE. I WAS MISLEAD. HE'LL WHEREVER IT HAS BEEN SITTING IT WAS COVETED BUT THERES STILL MIUNDS OF MOLD AND FUNK EVERYWHERE. ITS A VERY SUSPICIIUS VEHICLE. I TOOK IT BACK. THEY TOKD ME THEY WOJKD SELL IT AGAIN. NO ONE NEEDS TO BE DRIVI G THIS VEHICLE. THEY ARE SELLING IT AT FULL FAIR MARKET VALUE TOO. I JUST WANTED TO BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION.
ON MARCH 14TH, I PURCHASED A 2007 NISSAN MURANO FROM A PRIVATE OWNER. I WAS TOLD THE THROTTLE BOTTLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER REPLACING THE THROTTLE BOTTLE THE MURANO FELT LIKE IT LOST ALL POWER WHEN I ACCELERATED BUT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL ON. CONTACTED THE SELLER AND HE SAID THEY'VE NEVER HAD ANY TRANSMISSION ISSUES OR ANYTHING. I FOLLOWED UP WITH GETTING THE SPARK PLUGS CHANGED, TRANSMISSION FUEL AND FILTER CHANGED, A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND AN OIL CHANGE. THIS WORKED FOR ABOUT A MONTH UP UNTIL EARLY APRIL OF 2021. THE VEHICLE NOW SEEMS AS THOUGH IT'S IN LIMO MODE. NO MECHANIC WANTS TO WORK ON IT AND I FEEL COMPLETELY CHEATED AND AT A TOTAL LOSS. VADDEN NISSAN CONSTANTLY HAS AN EXCUSE NOT TO WORK ON MY VEHICLE AND AT THIS POINT, IT'S JUST VERY FRUSTRATING. I'VE SPEND THOUSAND OF DOLLARS ON THIS VEHICLE ONLY FOR ME TO STILL BE AT SQUARE ONE. I'M ALSO AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY BEING IN TRAFFIC AND HAVING TO TURN ON MY SAFETY HAZARD LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WILL DRIVE NORMAL IF I RESTART IT BUT GOES RIGHT BACK INTO LIMP MODE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BRACKET FRACTURED, ALLOWING THE SEAT TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH. THE REAR SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE HAD POOR WATER DRAINAGE AND EXCESSIVE RUST. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED HIS STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND WAS INFORMED TO CONTACT NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
MY COMPLAINT IS THAT MY CAR WINDOWS ROLLED DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TEH NIGHT, NEXT DAY CAR WAS FLOODED,WAS MARCH 2021 NISSAN SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WHY,,THEN DECEMEBER THE SAME THINK HAPPENED,,IT SNOWED HERE SO I DIDNT GO OUT FOR 2 DAYS THEN FOUND MY WINDOWS DOWN AGAIN,,NO WHERE WAS I NEAR MY REMOTE AND NOW NISSAN IS SAYING THEY SAY THEY DONT T HINK IT WAS MY REMOTE THAT ROLLE DMY WINDOWS DOWN,,THEY DONT KOW WHY,,IVE BEEN GOOGLING THIS ISSUE AND MANY NISSAN OWNERS HAVE TEH SAME ISSUE,,BUT I WAS NOT NEAR MY REMOTE TO DO THIS
THE REAR SUBFRAME LITERALLY DISINTEGRATED. WHILE DRIVING ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH THE REAR WHEELS BOTH SHIFTED. LIKE MANY OTHERS ON HERE MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AND THE REAR WHEELS PRACTICALLY FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. LIVES ARE AT RISK, NOT JUST FOR THE OWNERS OF THE CAR BUT THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT AND LOSS OF LIFE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A VEHICLE LOOK LIKE THIS THAT WASN'T IN A ACCIDENT. OWNERS SHOULD BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY. THIS 2007.NISSAN MURANO IS NOT DRIVABLE. AND WORST OF ALL THE DEALER WANTS $4900.00
VEHICLES SUB FRAME HAS RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH MAKING THIS CAR UNSAFE AND NONDRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESPONDING ODDLY WHEN STEERING AND I NOTED THAT THE REAR TIRES WERE AT A ODD ANGLE. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WHEREBY I WAS TOLD THIS CAR WAS UNSAFE AND UNDRIVABLE DUE TO A TOTALLY RUSTED OUT SUBFRAME. I HAD THE CAR TAKEN TO ANOTHER SHOP TO INSTALL A NEW SUBFRAME WHICH COSTED ME $2000.00 TO REPLACE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN BABIED AND IS VERY CLEAN AND LOOKS NEW, I HAVE NEW TIRES, BRAKE PADS, ROTORS, SHOCKS, STRUTS AND ALWAYS KEPT THIS CARS MAINTENANCE UP TO DATE. IT IS UNBELEAVABLE HOW THIS GARAGE KEPT VEHICLE COULD RUST OUT SOO BADLY ON SUCH A CRITICAL SUSPENSION COMPONENT. I GUESTION THAT THE METAL USED WAS UNSATISFACTORY FOR THIS CRITICAL COMPONENT. LUCKILY THIS PART DID NOT FAIL ME WHILE DRIVING ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS STARTING TO DRIFT AND SWAY UNUSUALLY AS IT WAS DRIVEN WHICH FIRST BROUGHT MY ATTENTION TO THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALL OF MY RECIEPTS IF COPIES ARE NEEDED FOR VERIFICATION OF THIS FAILURE. I ALSO HAVE MANY PHOTOS OF WHICH I ATTACHED A COUPLE FOR YOU FILES. I WOULD WELCOME A ONSITE REVIEW IF NEEDED. THESE MURANOS ARE A DEFINITE ROAD HAZARD AND A HAZARD THAT IS NOT EASILY SEEN OR IDENTIFIED UNLESS YOU CRAWL UNDER THE CAR TO ASSESS ITS CONDITION WHICH IS WHY I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL MOTORIST WHO DRIVE AND ARE ALSO ON THE ROAD WITH THIS CAR. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND CONCERN.
JUST PURCHASED VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER TOOK IT TO MECHANICS BECAUSE I KEPT GETTING SHOCKED BY THE SEAT THEY STATED THE ENGINE HAD BEEN ON FIRE WITH PREVIOUS OWNER AND I SHOULD CHECK FOR AND RECALL SINCE THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT WILLING TO ASSIST NOW THAT VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY NON FUNCTIONAL
REAR SUB FRAME IS RUSTED APART.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR SMOKING ONCE I START DRIVING. I HAVE TO CONSISTENTLY ADD MOTOR OIL AND IT SMOKES MORE. MY MECHANIC TELLS ME HE RAN TWO DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND NOTHINGS COMING UP. THEN MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER WERE ON RT 130 IN PENNSAUKEN NJ MY SUV JUST STALLED AND WOULDN'T LET ME GIVE IT GAS. THEN IT JUST JUMPED INTO GEAR. IT DID IT TWICE WHILE CARS WERE SPEEDING BY TRYING TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME. MY HEART FELT LIKE IT FELL INTO MY SEAT. I HAD TO PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON UNTIL I COULD FIND A SPOT TO PULL IN.IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. RIGHT NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. I HAVE TRANSPORT MY MOTHERTO HER HEART DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS. HOWEVER I TOO SCARED TO DRIVE.
TRANSMISSION WENT ONLY HAD THE SUV FOR 4 MONTHS.
THER REAR SWAY BAR BROKE ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK ONE DAY ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE TO SEE WHAT IT WAS, THE ENTIRE UNDERBODY IS ROTTED OUT TO INCLUDE THE SUBFRAME. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE.
MYA 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON THE CITY ROADS WHEN THE REAR SUB FRAME BROKE UNEXPECTEDLY
THE REAR WHEELS LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE POINTING IN THE REAR AND IT WAS DRIVING WEIRD. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE LOOKED IT OVER AND TOLD ME MY REAR SUBFRAME WAS RUSTED OUT AND HE ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE IT WAS A UN SAFETY TO DRIVE. HE SAID IT COULD FALL APART ON ME
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY (IN MIDDLE OF NOWHERE)CAR STARTED JERKING/SHAKING/VIBRATING & CLUNKING/BANGING SOUND, FELT LIKE DRIVING OVER MILLIONS OF NAILS. CAR COULD BARELY DRIVE AT 40 MPH IN SLOW LANE W/HAZARDS UNTIL I COULD GET TO SAFETY AN HOUR AWAY. CAR CANNOT GO ABOVE 5 MPH TO GET IT HOME. RPM GOING WACKY NO POWER WHEN STEP ON GAS BUT ENGINE REVS. ENGINE LIGHT ON STEADY THEN FLASHES WHEN CAR GETS GOING AT ONLY 5 MPH (CANNOT GO FASTER) BUT I FINALLY GOT THE CAR HOME & I WAS SAFE. NOW CAR CAN'T BE DRIVEN & MUST BE TOWED TO A GARAGE. CAR HAS OIL LEAK & I REPLACED THE OIL PAN ALONG WITH FAULTY ALTERNATOR WHICH KILLED BATTERY JUST 2 MONTHS AGO. BOUGHT CAR USED 2/1/20. HAS 110,000 MILES NOW. ENGINE HOT/SMELLS HOT BUT TEMP GAUGE DOESN'T REFLECT THAT. I WAS NEARLY KILLED ON FREEWAY BY PASSING TRACTOR TRAILERS & TRAFFIC HAVING TO SPEED BY ME RECKLESSLY WHEN IT HAPPENED TO AVOID COLLISION-NO WARNING. VERY DANGEROUS & SCARY. I SEE THERE ARE NEARLY 600 OTHER CASES EXACTLY LIKE THIS!!! SINGLE MOM WITH 2 KIDS IN CAR - VERY DANGEROUS. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED. IT SOUNDS BY READING COMPLAINTS THAT IT'S THE TRANSFER CASE?
ALL 2007 NISSAN MURANO HAVE A REAR T FRAME THAT RUST OUT AND THE WHEELES GO INWOULD AND THE FRAME GETS SO BAD IT CAN SPLITE AS YOUR DRIVING AND NISSAN NEVER HAD A RECALL ON THIS TYPE OF METAL THEY USED AND LET PEOPLE DRIVE THE CAR WHICH ANY MECHANIC WOULD TELL YOU IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE COST OF REPAIR ON THIS IS AROUND 3000 DOLLARS
REAR STABILIZER BAR BROKE OFF THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE. UPON TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR CRADLES WERE ERODED TO THE POINT OF FAILURE. IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE A DRIVING HAZARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE BRAKES AND BATTERY WARNING LIGHTS FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 186,000.
