TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. IT SLIPS BETWEEN GOING 35 MILES PER HOUR AND OVER. I JUST LEARNED THAT NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS HAVE A RECALL NOTICE AND WAS CONSIDERED A LEMON. THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES. I JUST EXCEED THE MILES. BUT NISSAN SHOULD RECALLED THE TRANSMISSINS AND FIXED THEM.
I WAS VEERING OFF A RURAL HIGHWAY IN A 2012 NISSAN MURANO ONTO A GRAVEL PARKING AREA AND STARTED BRAKING WHEN I BECAME AWARE THAT WHILE APPLYING BRAKES THE PEDDLE WAS NOT STOPPING THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO PRESS VERY HARD ON BRAKES AND IT EVENTUALLY STOPPED. I WAS PROBABLY GOING 30 MPH. THE NEXT DAY MY WIFE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AND AFTER TWO WEEKS AND ABOUT 200 MILES THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEMS. I AM STILL TRYING TO RESOLVE ISSUES.
BRAKES STOP WORKING ON OCCASSION. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGJWAY AND WINDING BACK ROADS, I TRIED TO STOP,PING, AND I HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING THE BRAKES TO STOP THE CAR. THE BRAKE PADA ARE NEW, AND RHE TIRES HAVE BEEN ALIGNED, AND BRAKELINES CHECKED AND THE ISSUE STILL OCCURS.
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT PROVOCATION. THERE WERE NO ROCKS, RAPID TEMPERATURE EXTREMES, OR NO OTHER VISIBLE REASON FOR THE EXPLOSION. LUCKILY THE SUN SHADE WAS CLOSED AND ALL OF THE GLASS WAS CONTAINED IN THE SHADE AND WE WERE ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER WHO TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HANDLE THAT AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT A COLLISION CENTER BECAUSE THEY DID NOT FIX SUNROOFS. I CALLED MY INSURANCE PROVIDER WHO DID ASSIST WITH THE REPLACEMENT ROOF, HOWEVER, IT TOOK OVER TEN DAYS TO FIX. IN ADDITION THIS IS COUNTING AS A CLAIM WHICH WILL MAKE MY RATES INCREASE.
TAKATA RECALL - DRIVERS SIDE VISOR DOES NOT SAY UP - DROPS DOWN AN IMPAIRS VISION - VERY DANGEROUS!! AFTER RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF NISSAN MURANO OWNERS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL? ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S SUCH A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD.
ON JUNE 25TH I WAS GOING DOWN A VERY STEEP HILL IN GUTTENBERG NJ,07093 WHEN ABOUT THREE QUARTERS DOWN THE HILL MY 212 NISSAN MURANO CONVERTIBLE'S ENGINE STOPPED WITH NO WARNING. THANK GOD THE LIGHT AHEAD WAS GREEN AND I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL JUST ENOUGH TO AVERT CRASHING INTO A FENCE AND GO OVER AN EMBANKMENT. THE CAR ROLLED TO A STOP AND I WOUND UP IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHOSE LIGHT WAS THEN GREEN COMING AT ME FROM NORTH AND SOUTH.. I WROTE TO THE US GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS IN CALIFORNIA AND SPOKE SEVERAL TIMES TO NISSAN'S REGIONAL OFFICE IN TENNESSEE. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT LOCAL DEALERSHIP SINCE JUNE 25 AND THEY SAY IF THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM I WILL HAVE TO TAKE CAR . BUT THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE AND I CANNOT IN GOOD FAITH SELL IT TO ANYONE ELSE. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME. I AM A PROFESSOR AT TEACHERS COLLEGE IN NYC AND USE THE CAR TO TRAVEL TO THE COLLEGE IN THE SPRING AND FALL SEMESTERS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD AND THE OIL CONSUMPTION INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER. THE FRONT BUMPER WAS DAMAGE ON BOTH VEHICLES. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHILE STARTING FROM A STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE FOR 5-10 SECONDS. THIS IS DANGEROUS IN INTERSECTIONS AND WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. FIRST EXPERIENCED PROBLEM AT 98K AND TOOK TO DEALER. DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE OR RECREATE PROBLEM. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS INDICATED. THIS PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED INTERMITTENLY AND IS NOW HAPPENING ON A REGULAR BASIS. AT 121K, TOOK TO DEALER EVEN THOUGH NO SERVICE LIGHTS ON AND WAS TOLD THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AS WELL, THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND FRONT BUSHING CONTROL ARMS NEED TO BE REPLACED. ALL 3 OF THESE ITEMS ARE REPORTED BY OTHER OWNERS. CVT WAS OFFERED TO OWNERS WITH 2003-2010 MODELS; HOWEVER, THE SAME ISSUE IS HAPPENING IN LATER MODELS, INCLUDING MY 2012. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL THESE YEARS AS WELL.
CAR TURNED OFF ALL TOGETHER WHILE IN DRIVE
COMMON PROBLEM, WITH MY CAR AND I'VE NOTICED WITH OTHER 2012 OWNERS, IS A FLOPPY SUN VISOR ON DRIVER'S SIDE WHICH WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE THEREFORE OBSTRUCTING VISION. I PAID TO HAVE VISOR REPLACED, BUT THINK THAT RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM
THE CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED AT THE DEALER WHERE PURCHASED NEW. OVER 6 YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. THE 2 MOST SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS WAS THE FAILURE OF THE RACK & PINION MECHANISM. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND MENTIONED A NOISE THINKING IT IS THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR OUT OF THE REPAIR SHOP AS IT WAS UNSAFE. THE MOST RECENT EVENT WAS THE TOTAL FAILURE OF THE RADIATOR. IT LITERALLY CAME APART AND COULD HAVE LED TO ENGINE SEIZURE. THIS WAS DISCOVERED AS I PULLED OUT OF MY GARAGE AND NOTICED A POOL OF COOLANT. THERE WAS NO LIGHT OR HOT/COLD INDICATOR THAT THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING HOT. I WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER COSTLY REPAIR. THERE WERE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END; TIE ROD, MOTOR MOUNT, CV BOOT, BUT THESE ARE THE MOST SERIOUS AND VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION FOR ALL THESE OCCURRENCES. THE MURANO IS A TRUE LEMON.
VEHICLE IS MOSTLY STATIONARY IN THE GARAGE, ONLY 46K MILES FOR 2012. AIR BAG STARTING FLASHING AND WILL NOT RESET. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS, TECHNICIAN STATED LIGHT CAUSED BY FAULTY AIR BAG SENSING UNIT. TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDS REPLACING THE DIAGNOSTIC UNIT AND PASSENGER SEAT BOTTOM. $5700 AND AIR BAG WILL NOT WORK IF IN ACCIDENT.
I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING: LOSS OF POWER AT HIGH SPEED, A WHISTLING SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING, AND A GRINDING SOUND WHEN TURNING LEFT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ONE. THE LOSS OF POWER AT A HIGH SPEED RESULTED IN AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE, THEN SUDDENLY STARTED SHUDDERING VIOLENTLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. AS I CONTINUED ACCELERATING, IT SMOOTHED OUT, BUT AS I CAME TO MY NEXT STOP AND STARTED ACCELERATING, THE SHUDDERING HAPPENED AGAIN, THEN I HEARD A POP AND LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I COULD HEAR THE ENGINE REV AS I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I LEARNED THAT THERE ARE TONS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS, FOR WHICH THE MOST COMMON REMEDY SEEMS TO BE FULL TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. NISSAN NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND ASSIST THOSE OF US EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSIONS THAT ARE OBVIOUSLY FAULTY AND COSTING OWNERS SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR. FORTUNATELY FOR ME, I WAS IN A RELATIVELY REMOTE AREA, SO NEITHER I NOR OTHER DRIVERS WERE IN DANGER...HOWEVER, HAD I BEEN IN A MORE POPULATED AREA IT COULD HAVE MADE FOR A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. I MAY TAKE SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE NORMALLY. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS PRESENT AND NO CODES CAN BE OBTAINED BY AN OBD2 SCAN.
WHILE DRIVING ON A PAVED ROAD, A LOUD EXPLOSION CONSUMED THE CAR. THE CLOSED SUNROOF/CLOSED SHADE EXPLODED SENDING SHATTERED GLASS AIRBORNE AND ON TOP OF THE CLOSED SHADE. THIS CAUSED A HORRIBLE NOISE AS THE GLASS BOUNCED ON THE SHADE AS I SLOWLY MADE MY WAY BACK HOME AND TO THE DEALERSHIP! DURING THE RETURN ROUTE, YOU COULD HEAR THE GLASS CRACKING AS IT BROKE FREE AND FLEW OFF WHILE DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED OPERATING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BROWNS NISSAN (LOCATED AT 11010 FAIRFAX BLVD, FAIRFAX, VA 22030, (703) 591-8009), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,024. *TT CONSUMER STATED LAST TRIP TO PA RETURNED TO BROWNS ON RETURN ADVISED THAT WIPERS AND CONDEMNATION WAS SO BAD COULD NOT SEE CLEARLY!!! TOOK CAR BACK TO SHOW TECH. THE WHOLE CAR FULL OF CONDEMNATION DEFROSTER DID NOTHING. HE DECIDED TO REMOVE THE CRYSTAL FUSION ALSO DID NOT WORK. FINALLY AGREED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM AFTER 6 YEARS OF THIS. WE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE BACK UP CAMERA WITH THE CONDEMNATION. UPDATED 10/17/18*JB
TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP. CAR WOULD GO TO HIGH RPMS BECAUSE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. CAR NEEDED TO GET TOWED. CVT FAILED
TRANSMISSION STALLS OR HESITANT WHEN ACCELERATING AND WAS TOLD BY THE TRANSMISSION SHOP IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED
CVT WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. CAR WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEARS. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
MY CAR WOULD HESITATE 4 TO 5 SECONDS WHEN STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THIS WAS VERY UNSAFE, AS I WAS AT A LIGHT, WENT TO TURN, AND THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE. IT FINALLY LUNGED FORWARD. LUCKILY THE TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT, IF I HAD BEEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN WORSE AND CAUSED ME TO TURN IN FRONT OF AN ONCOMING CAR. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN ACROSS A ROAD WITH 50 MPH TRAFFIC INTO A SUBDIVISION. I TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION (CVT) NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 62,000 MILES. THIS IS NOT ONLY UNSAFE, BUT UNACCEPTABLE FOR ONLY 62,000 MILES. THIS IS GOING TO COST ME $4500 TO FIX. NISSAN IS STATING THIS IS MY FAULT, AS I NEVER HAD THE TRANSMISSION SERVICED. IN THE BOOK, THE FIRST SERVICE FOR TRANSMISSION REQUIRED IS 60,000 MILES, BUT IT STATES TO INSPECT THE FLUID. THERE ARE OPTIONAL SERVICES AT 30K MILES, BUT IT DOES NOT INDICATE THEY ARE REQUIRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED; HOWEVER, THE STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY STILL OPERATED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO JOHN AMATO NISSAN (5200 N WASHINGTON ROAD, GLENDALE, WISCONSIN 53217), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. IN OCTOBER OF 2017, THE REAR ELECTRICAL DOOR MALFUNCTIONED AND REMAINED IN THE OPEN POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE BY THE DEALER (CHERRY HILL NISSAN, 2325 NJ-38, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,600.
WHILE DRIVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, HAVING JUST BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, THE SUNROOF OF MY 2012 NISSAN MURANO SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED. I KEEP MY CAR INSIDE A GARAGE AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY MAJOR ACCIDENTS. PER MY AUTO MANUAL, I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AFTER THE INCIDENT AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE PERSON STATED IT WAS THE 2ND CALL THAT MORNING RELATED TO THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE I FOUND MANY OTHERS HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER AFTER A WEEK OF THEM GIVING ME THE RUNAROUND, I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT BE OFFERING ANY ASSISTANCE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE REPAIR HAS BEEN QUOTED TO BE AROUND $1500. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM NISSAN AGAIN.
MY CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE WHEN TAKING OFF AT TIMES. IT HAS HAPPENED PULLING INTO MOVING TRAFFIC AS WELL AS PULLING AWAY FROM A GREEN LIGHT. SOMETIMES WHILE MOVING YOU WILL FEEL A LAPSE OF POWER AS WELL. ONE DEALER TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS THE TIRES...NOT THE CASE. ANOTHER SUGGESTED IT IS THE CVT, WHICH IS WHAT WE THOUGHT. HOWEVER, NISSAN IS SNEAKY AND HID THE ABILITY TO FULLY DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM SINCE NO ERROR CODE IS PRESENT WITH THE PROBLEM HAPPENS. THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN AND IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR, SO I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING IT ALL TOGETHER.
LOWER CONTROL ARMS BALL JOINTS ARE PULLING OUT OF RUBBER THE RUBBER IS SPLITTING THE CAR NOW HAS 14,000 ACTUAL MILES ON IT TOOK TO NISSAN IN DALLAS TX WAS ASSIGN CASE # 30712503 ON4-6-2018 FROM NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE 1-615-725-7105 DEALER LOOKED CAR OVER SENT RESULTS TO CUSTOMER CARE ANSWER CAME BACK ON 4-27-2018 NO CAMPAIGNS OR RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM AND IF REPORTED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY THEY WOULD HAVE FIXED IT I WILL GET IT FIXED AT MY EXPENSE BUT DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANYONE HAVE AN ACCIDENT I DON'T THINK THE RUBBER SHOULD ERODE THAT FAST MY OLDER DODGE IS A 2004 AND STEERING PARTS ARE NOT SHOWING WEAR WITH130,000MILES THE AUTO PARTS STORE SAY SELL A LOT OF LOWER CONTROL ARMS FOR THE MURANO THEY MAY HAVE A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED HAVE PHOTOS DON'T KNOW HOW TO DOWNLOAD THEM
1ST INCIDENT- DRIVING ON MAIN STREET OF TOWN HWY 31 S, CAR SIMPLY QUIT WHILE IN MOTION, WHILE DRIVING- NO WARNING, NO LIGHTS. COULD NOT MOVE, START ETC.. HAD TO CALL POLICE TO ASSIST ME IN GETTING THE CAR OUT OF THE MAIN HIGHWAY. 2ND INCIDENT- DRIVING ON I65 S INTERSTATE, DOING 70MPH, CAR QUIT WHILE DRIVING! HAD TO THROW ON FLASHERS AND COAST IT INTO THE MEDIAN, THE COPS WERE CALLED AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MECHANIC. MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE BOTH IN THE CAR AND COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED.- CALLED NISSAN TO REPORT, THEY ADVISED THEY KNEW OF NO RECALLS.AND WERE UNCONCERNED JUST ADVISED TO TAKE TO MECHANIC- WHERE IT WAS. 3RD- CAR IS NOW DOING THE SAME, WILL LOOSE POWER WHEN TURNING, AND GOING UP HILLS- ALWAYS LOSES POWER/DIES WHEN IN MOTION.
SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE SLOWLY DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. NO BUMPS IN THE ROAD OR OTHER VEHICLES CLOSE AROUND. TRAFFIC WAS LOW. SPEED APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED AT APPROXIMATELY 4:00 P.M. TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 50 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. GLASS LOOKED BUBBLED OUT. WE HAD TO COVER THE BROKEN SUNROOF BEFORE WE COULD DRIVE HOME 40 MILES OUT OF TOWN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES BECAUSE THE SUNROOF COVER WAS CLOSED. EXPLODING GLASS SOUNDING LIKE A GUNFIRE. PHOTOS CAN BE SENT WHEN UNCOVERED BEFORE SUNROOF IS REPLACED BY A TECHNICIAN.
POWER DOOR LOCKING SYTEM IS FAILING
I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED A COUPLE YEARS AGO. LAST MONTH WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND I COULDN'T GO OVER 20 MILES AN HOUR. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSIONS WAS A CVT TRANSMISSION AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED OR REBUILT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AT $4,100+. THEY SAID THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH CVT AND NISSAN WAS AWARE OF IT AND HAD OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 100K (AT A COST). THE TRANSMISSION ONLY HAD 80,000 MILES. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE WARRANTY ON THE NEW TRANSMISSION I WAS TOLD THE TRANS WAS ONLY GUARANTEEDED FOR 12,000 MILES OR ONE YEAR. IT'S SAD THAT A COMPANY IS AWARE OF A SITUATION LIKE THIS. VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 70000 WHEN CVT TRANSMISSION STARTED TO FAIL. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDER, AND AT TIME ENGINE WOULD REV AT 4000 RPM. VEHICLE IS STILL DRIVEABLE AT THIS TIME, BUT IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE, AND SHUDDERS AT TIMES. WE DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY ANY LONGER FOR FEAR THE TRANSMISSION WOULD COMPLETELY STOP WORKING. WAS INSPECTED AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND BY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND BOTH CONFIRM THAT TRANSMISSION CODES INDICATE CVT TRANSMISSION IS FAILING. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT THE NISSAN MURANO TRANSMISSION HAD IN THE PAST WHICH LED TO A RECALL WHICH COVERED MODEL YEARS FROM 2003 TO 2010.

2012 NISSAN MURANO WITH 90K MILES HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION JERKING AND SUDDENLY STOPPING THE CAR TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 50-65 MPH. DUE TO THIS UNEXPECTED AND SEVERE LOSS OF CAR POWER I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF FORWARD MOTION DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE FOR HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS FAILING. WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET ABOVE 10 MPH AND SOMETIMES BUCKS WHEN ACCELERATION STARTS. THERE ARE 117K MIKE'S ON MY CAR AND I'M SO FRUSTRATED.
DOOR LOCK ISSUE - ALL FOUR DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS DO NOT FUNCTION, THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN GOING OVER 15 MILES AN HOUR (A SAFETY FEATURE), IF THE DOOR IS LOCKED MANUALLY, IT WILL NOT UNLOCK WHEN THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF. COULD BE HAZARDOUS IF NEEDING TO LEAVE THE CAR QUICKLY.

AFTER CONTACTING NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, WE WERE TOLD SINCE THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THEY HAD NO INTENTION OF DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
AFTER I STARTED MY VEHICLE AFTER FEW SECOND SMOKE CAME OUT FROM STEERING WHEEL. WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER THEY FOUND OUT MY STEERING WHEEL FIRE HAZARD AND AIR BAG GOT DESTROYED.

INDICATOR LIGHT UNDER HEATING/AIR CONDITION PANEL INDICATED BAG OFF ON PASSENGER SIDE DIAGNOSTIC SCAN REQUESTED FROM DEALER REVEALED THAT "OCCUPANT SENSOR UNIT FAILED." "RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF PASSSENGER AIR BAG SYSTEM AND SENSORS AT A COST OF $3,563.13." WHILE DRIVING, MY MURANO 2012 SUNROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT ANY REASON. IT WAS A LOUD NOISE AND DID NOT KNEW WHAT HAPPENED. AFTER PULLING OVER I SAW THAT SUNROOF EXPLODED UPWARDS. "TAKATA RECALL" ON JANUARY 6, 2017 I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK GOING 59 NORTH JUST A LITTLE PASS 6 PM. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEAR A BIG LOUD BOOM AS I MAKE MY WAY TO THE RIGHT LANE I NOTICE THAT MY SUNROOF IS MAKE A LOUD SOUND. I DIDN'T WANT TO PULL OVER SINCE I'M ALONE AND IT'S DARK. I MADE IT HOME AND I GET OUT OF THE SUV AND THAT'S WHEN I SAW MY FRONT SUNROOF GLASS IS BUSTED. I HEARD THE EXPLOSION, THEN A LOUD SOUND OF WIND AS THE SUNROOF WAS GONE AND THE WIND BLOWING THROUGH THE COVER. SOME GLASS CAME THROUGH THE EDGES OF THE COVER. I SAW CHUNKS OF GLASS BLOWING BEHIND ME IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR. NISSAN TRIED TO CLAIM THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY A ROCK. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS EVIDENT THERE WAS AN OUTWARD EXPLOSION OF THE CLASS CAUSED BY PRESSURE. YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE EXPLOSION PUSHED THE BROKEN GLASS OUTWARD. *TR

HAD A CO-WORKER TRY AND HE COULD NOT TURN. HAD A THIRD PERSON TRY AND AFTER TURNING VERY HARD, HE WAS ABLE TO UNLOCK DOOR. UPON OPENING DOOR, INTERIOR LIGHTS DID NOT GO ON AS THEY NORMALLY DO. TRIED TO START CAR IN NORMAL WAY - NOTHING. PUT KEY FAB INTO IGNITION - NOTHING. DETERMINED THAT BATTERY DEAD. AFTER JUMPING VEHICLE, IT STARTED AND RAN FINE. DETERMINED THAT NOTHING WAS LEFT ON OTHER THAN THE FAN FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING. NOW CARRY JUMPER CABLES AND CONSCIOUS TO PARK WHERE CAR CAN BE JUMPED IF NECESSARY.
I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND IT TOOK OVER 3 HOURS TO COMPLETE. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE BUT THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME MORE EXCEPT THAT IT HAD TO DO WITH THE AIR BAGS AND THE COMPUTER. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET MORE INFORMATION FROM THE DEALER AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS VIA PHONE AND LETTER. I AM CONCERNED THAT IT IS SAFETY RELATED AND THAT THEY ARE HIDING SOMETHING DANGEROUS.
