NHTSA RECALL 17V-184 FOR OUR 2014 NISSAN MURANO BEGAN 5/10/2017. TOOK CAR TO DEALER 5/31/2017 FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION AFTER RECEIVING RECALL NOTICE. REPAIR COULD NOT BE MADE BECAUSE PARTS ARE ON RESTRICTION. FOLLOWED UP WITH MULTIPLE DEALERS ON 9/6/2017 - PARTS ARE STILL ON RESTRICTION. IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ISSUE A RECALL IF PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
WE WERE DRIVING - SOUND LIKE A GUN SHOT AND LOOKED UP AND OUR SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. WE WERE GOING 40MPH ON A ROAD CLOUDY AND 68DEGREES. WE HAVE A PANORAMIC ROOF - IT HAPPENED ON THE PANORAMA BACK SECTION
DRIVERS SIDE VISOR DOES NOT STAY UP. WHILE DRIVING VISOR DROPS WITH OUT WARNING. VERY HAZARDOUS. HAS ALMOST CAUSED WRECK . ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES.
RECENTLY PURCHASED AUTOMOBILE HAS ACTIVE RECALL
ON AUGUST 4, 2017, I VISITED AUTONATION NISSAN IN MEMPHIS SO THEY COULD VERIFY THAT MY CAR NEEDED THE RECALLED PART. AFTER VERIFICATION, I WAS TOLD THE PARTS WOULD BE ORDERED & THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY CAME IN TO SCHEDULE THE SERVICE. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL. ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2017, I CALLED AUTONATION NISSAN AGAIN TO FOLLOW UP & SPOKE WITH DAVE IN SERVICE. DAVE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NEVER ORDERED & TOLD ME HE WOULD PLACE THE ORDER RIGHT AWAY. AGAIN, I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A FOLLOW UP CALL SAYING THE PARTS HAVE COME IN.
WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FALLS WITHOUT WARNING, OBSTRUCTING VISION. IT WILL NOT STAY ALL THE WAY UP. SOMETIMES IT FALLS ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND SOMETIMES IT STOPS PARTWAY DOWN AND IF I MAKE A QUICK STOP MY HEAD HIT IT. I CANNOT LOWER THE AUTOMATIC SEAT FAR ENOUGH TO GET BELOW IT SUFFICIENTLY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IT BLOCKS MY VIEW WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK THIS VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN REPAIR IT BY INSTALLING A COMPLETELY NEW VISOR ASSEMBLY AT A COST OF NEARLY $300, BUT THEY DO NOT WANT TO DO SO BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WILL RECURR AFTER SOME TIME. THEY SAY IT IS A DEFECT THAT NISSAN HAS NOT CORRECTED. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND WITHIN MINUTES FOUND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, BUT THE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP EVEN WHEN PARKED.

THAYER NISSAN LOCATED AT 18039 N DIXIE HWY, BOWLING GREEN, OH WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY CAR NISSAN MURANO 2014 HAS A RECALL FOR HOSE&TUBE ASSY-POWER STEERING CAMPAIN ID R1710 AND STATED THAT HAS A HIGH PRIORITY BECAUSE LOOSING THE PART MY CONDUCT TO A FIRE HAZARD. I CONTACTED NISSAN DEALER IN JULY 24, 2017 AND THEY DELAY MONTH BY MONTH TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE
I HAD TWO APPOINTMENTS AT WRIGHT NISSAN OF WEXFORD (PA)FOR A RECALL. THE FIRST APPOINTMENT THEY CALLED AND RESCHEDULED BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART. THE SECOND APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED AND WHEN I ARRIVED, THEY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART. I HAVE TAKEN TWO DAYS OFF OF WORK TO GET THIS RECALL SERVICE WORK PERFORMED. I RESCHEDULED WITH ANOTHER DEALERSHIP.
6/17/17 COMPLETED 2014 MURANO POWER STEERING HOSE CLAMP RECALL WORK. NHTSA 17V-184. NOTICED RATTLING NOISE FROM ENGINE WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT (STATIONARY). 6/29/17 BACK TO DEALER, GOT BACK 7/3/17. DEALER REPRODUCED AND NOTED THE ISSUE ON SERVICE RECORD. DID THE RECALL WORK FOR A 2ND TIME, BUT ISSUE NOT FIXED. STATED THERE IS NO FIX, BLAMES RECALL PART (DEALER SAYS PER NISSAN TECHLINE), REFERRED ME TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. 7/8/17-7/11/17 PROVIDED NISSAN PROOF OF OWNERSHIP. THEY ADVISED TO GO TO ANOTHER DEALER. 7/13/17-7/14/17 ANOTHER DEALER. THEY CLAIMED TO NOT HEAR THE NOISE AND SUGGESTED I BRING BACK A RECORDING. WENT BACK WITH NOISE RECORDING IN MY GARAGE. THEY CONFIRMED NOISE IN WRITING AND ADVISED ME TO GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER. ALSO REFERRED ME BACK TO NISSAN. 7/16/17, 7/20/17 NISSAN SAYS TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH BOTH DEALERS. 7/24/17 NISSAN INFORMED ME THAT THE FIRST ONE CLAIMS THE NOISE IS NORMAL, THE SECOND ONE CLAIMS THERE IS NO NOISE. I INFORMED NISSAN BOTH DEALERS CONFIRMED NOISE IN WRITING. I ASKED IF THE NOISE IS NORMAL (PER THE FIRST DEALER), WHY DID THEY DO THE RECALL WORK A SECOND TIME? AND HOW CAN THE SECOND DEALER CLAIM THERE IS NO NOISE WHEN I HAVE IT IN WRITING? HE ASKED ME TO SEND HIM THE VIDEO RECORDING AND DOCS FROM BOTH DEALERS. I E-MAILED NISSAN PDF SCANS AS WELL AS THE VIDEO RECORDING. 7/27/17-7/31/17 NISSAN ASKED ME TO GO TO THE FIRST DEALER. DEALER CONFIRMED THE NOISE ON THE RECORDING. BUT NOW THEY CLAIMED NOT HEARING THE NOISE AND THERE IS NOTHING FURTHER THEY CAN DO. THEY AVOIDED ANSWERING WHY THEY DID RECALL WORK TWICE. 8/1/17 NISSAN INFORMED ME THERE IS NOTHING NISSAN CAN DO. NISSAN CONFIRMED THE NOISE ON THE VIDEO AND CONFIRMED THAT BOTH DEALERS ACKNOWLEDGED THE NOISE. 8/12/17 THE NOISE PERSISTS. I AM CONCERNED SAFETY/RECALL ISSUE IS NOT PROPERLY FIXED.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR A LITTLE OVER THREE YEARS AND RECENTLY HAVE HAD ALL FOUR OF THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS FAIL. INITIALLY THIS WAS THE DRIVER SIDE, THESE WERE FIXED AND THEN THE PASSENGER SIDE FAILED. DURING THESE PERIODS THE REAR DOORS, WHERE MY YOUNG COUSINS SIT COULD NOT BE OPENED FROM THE EXTERIOR. THIS IS RATHER ALARMING AS IF WE WERE IN ANY SORT OF SEVER ACCIDENT GETTING THEM OUT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT. THE SERVICE CENTER I WENT TO TRIED TO PASS THIS OFF AS REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR BUT IT SEEMS QUITE CLEAR THAT SOME DEFECT IS PRESENT AND ONE THAT COULD LEAD TO SOMEONE BEING HARMED IF AN ACCIDENT WERE TO OCCUR.
JUST GOT LETTER IN MAIL FROM NISSAN ON 5-13-17 (RECALL IS EFFECTIVE 03=06-17). WHEN CALLED ON 5-15-17 DON DAVIS NISSAN OF ARLINGTON, TX (LOUIS, MAIN SERVICE ADVISOR), I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAVE TO ORDER PARTS FOR REPAIRS, AND I HAVE TO LEAVE MY CAR AT LEAST FOR A DAY. I RECEIVED RECALL LETTER NHTSA RECALL 17V-184.CALLED NISSAN 804-378-3000.MADE APPT FOR RECALL,WAS ADVISED PART WAS THERE.UPON ARRIVING AT APPT. I WAS TOLD SORRY PARTS WERE THERE BUT NOW ARE ALL GONE.WE WILL ORDER AND PUT YOUR NAME ON IT AND CALL YOU IN A COUPLE WEEKS.IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 3 MONTHS NO CALL. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CALL AND NO ANSWER,LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES NO CALL BACK.THIS IS MY FIRST MURANO AND I WANT TO DO THE RIGHT THING TO KEEP MY WARRANTY GOOD.I AM FRUSTRATED AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO.PLEASE ADVISE ME.THANK YOU.03
DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR IS WILL NOT STAY IN ANY SET POSITION. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ON ANY DAY THAT THE SUN OUT, PARTICULARLY DRIVING INTO THE SUN. THIS IS A CRITICAL SAFE DRIVING COMPONENT OF ANY VEHICLE. VERY EXPENSIVE PART TO PURCHASE, FOR WHAT IT IS, BECAUSE OF THE HIGH DEMAND SINCE SO MANY HAVE FAILED. THE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP, AS IT WILL JUST DROP IN FRONT OF YOUR LINE OF VISION, AND IT WILL NOT STAY TOWARDS WINDSHIELD TO BLOCK THE BLINDING SUN. IT LOOKS LIKE THESE COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN PLACED IN VARIOUS AREAS ON HERE.
WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WESTBOUND ON HIGHWAY I-72/US 36 NEAR HANNIBAL, MISSOURI, WE HEARD A LOUD AND SUDDEN EXPLOSION RESULTING IN A CATASTROPHIC LOSS OF THE SUNROOF ON OUR SUV. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, THE SUNROOF AND SUNSHADE WERE CLOSED. THE HIGHWAY WAS LIGHTLY TRAVELED AND THERE WERE NO VEHICLES (CARS, TRUCKS, BUSES, ETC.) IN THE VICINITY. WE DID NOT PASS UNDER ANY OVERPASSES. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE AREA THAT WOULD HAVE GENERATED A PROJECTILE THAT WOULD HIT A SUNROOF 5 1/2' ABOVE THE PAVEMENT. SIMPLY STATED, WE WERE AN ISOLATED CAR ON A DESERTED STRETCH OF HIGHWAY. WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR AND SUNNY WITH LIGHT CLOUDS. THE TEMPERATURE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50 DEGREES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

I NOTICED A SPOT OF WATER ON THE FLOOR AND I LOOKED THAT IT WAS LIKING WATER UNDER THE CAR AND I DON'T KNOW WHERE EXACTLY CAME FROM.

THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A METAL RAIL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. MY 2014 NISSAN MURANO DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE AND HAS TO BE HELD IN PLACE BY A SMALL BUNGEE CORD NOW SINCE NISSAN STATES IT'S NOT A COVERED REPAIR. THE COST TO BUY A NEW VISOR AND INSTALL IS OVER $370 FROM THE DEALER. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST. A QUICK SEARCH ON THE INTERNET CONFIRMS MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SLIDE DOWN A HILL. THE VEHICLE THEN CRASHED INTO TWO TREES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A LOCAL BODY SHOP. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

STARTED TO DRIVE MY 2014 NISSAN MURANO WHEN A HEARD A HUGE WHOOSING NOISE AND A HUGE RUSH OF AIR. I THEN SAY PIECES OF MY SUNROOF COMING OFF THE BACK OF MY CAR, ALTHOUGH THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES ON MY SIDE OR IN FRONT OR BACK. OPENED SHADE TO SUNROOF AND FOUND THAT GLASS HAD EXPLODED UPWARD AND SHATTERED. CLOSED SHADE AND IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT CAR TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP STILL HAS VEHICLE.
FRACTURED STERNUM AS AIR BAG FAILED TO PROTECT OCCUPANT IN A CRASH. VEHICLE WAS MOVING AND HIT A VEHICLE THAT FAILED TO STOP AT STOP SIGN
BOUGHT CAR IN NOVEMBER 2014 AND AIR CONDITION HAS STOPPED BLOWING OUT COLD AIR, NEEDS REPAIR. TEST AIR CONDITIONAL WHILE IN MOTION AND IN PARK.
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FAILS TO HOLD POSITION AND FALLS DOWN BLOCKING VISIBILITY. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHEN DRIVING AND FOR TALL DRIVERS COMPLETELY BLOCKS THE ROAD OR EVEN WORSE DROPS ON LEFT TURN.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT. AS THE REAR POWER LIFT GATE WAS COMING DOWN TO CLOSE, I QUICKLY REACHED IN TO PUSH A TARP OUT OF THE WAY...THE LIFT GATE CAME DOWN ON TOP OF MY HEAD AND DID NOT AUTO REVERSE. IT CONTINUED DOWNWARD AFTER STRIKING MY HEAD SENDING ME TO THE GROUND. THIS BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA TO MY HEAD RESULTED IN PERMANENT VISION LOSS TO THE MACULA OF MY LEFT EYE CALLED A SCOTOMA (IS/OS DEFECT.)
PURCHASED THE 2014 NISSAN MURANO NEW FROM NALLEY NISSAN DECATUR, GEORGIA. TIRES WEARING TREAD QUICKLY; 50% AT 12800 MILES. TIRES ARE EASILY PUNCTURED. TWICE THUS FAR. RESEARCHED TO FIND THIS IS COMMON FOR THIS TIRE RESULTING IN SOME CASES TWITH BLOW OUTS. SEE WWW.CONSUMERAFFAIRS.COM/TIRES/YOKOHAMA. DURING SERVICING AND TIRE ROTATION, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS TIRE DOESN'T USUALLY COME ON THE MURANO FROM FACTORY AS IT IS CONSIDERED SUB-STANDARD. I WAS TOLD TO INFORM NISSAN. LONG STORY SHORT. BOTH TIRE MANUFACTURER AND NISSAN REFUSED TO ASSIST ME TO REMOVE THESE TIRES. TIRES ARE CONTINUING TO WEAR QUICKLY ON MY FRONT WITH NO ALLIGNMENT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES. A NISSAN SPECIALIST SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT THE BBB IF I A NOT HAPPY.
I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A RIGHT TO TURN INTO THE PARKING SPACE AT THE RESTAURANT AND THE TRUCK JERKED FORWARD. I PRESSED THE BRAKE PAD AND QUICKLY NOTICED THAT THE TRUCK DID NOT STOP. I SAID OUT LOUD, ITS NOT STOPPING! THE PASSENGER IN MY TRUCK THEN LEANED OVER AND NOTICED THAT MY FOOT WAS IN FACT ON THE BREAK PAD. I MADE THE STATEMENT AGAIN, ITS NOT STOPPING! THE TRUCK ROLLED OVER THE CONCRETE PARKING BLOCK AND PROCEEDED INTO THE BUILDING. I WAS PUMPING THE BREAK PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR AT THIS POINT. I COULD HEAR THE ENGINE ACCELERATING AS I WAS PUMPING THE BREAK PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR AND THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I YELLED UNCONTROLLABLY BECAUSE I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. I REMEMBERED YELLING OUT LOUDIT WOULDNT STOP.OOOO GOD.IT WOULDNT STOPWHY DIDNT IT STOP!
WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE WITH THE RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CAR ACCELERATED. THE CAR HAD ENOUGH SPEED TO GO OVER THE CEMENT PARKING BLOCK AND HIT THE VEHICLE PARKED IN FRONT. TRYING TO AVOID THAT VEHICLE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED TO THE LEFT AND OTHER VEHICLES WERE HIT. THE CAR THEN STOPPED. ALL THE TIME THE FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. THE CAR WAS THEN PUT INTO REVERSE AND BACKED UP TO CLEAR THE VEHICLES. *TR
WE PURCHASED A 2014 MISSAN MURANO SL AWD IN DEC 2104, WITH THE NAVIGATION PACKAGE ($2100) WHICH INCLUDED THE BLIND SPOT WARNING SYSTEM. WHEN LIGHTS ARE IN THE "AUTO" POSITION, A VEHICLE COMES UP FROM BEHIND, EITHER SIDE, THE YELLOW/ORANGE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, JUST THE WAY IT SHOULD. HOWEVER, WHEN YOU TURN THE HEAD LIGHTS ON TO "MANUAL" POSITION, SUCH AS WHEN IT IS RAINING, THE BLIND SPOT WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON ENOUGH TO CATCH YOUR ATTENTION, IT IS JUST A FLICKER, YOU WOULD HAVE TO TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD TO SEE IT. IT IS LIKE THERE IS NO WARNING AT ALL. WE HAVE CALLED NISSAN AND WERE TOLD THAT, "IT PERFORMS AS DESIGNED" I SAID THEN YOU HAVE A DESIGN FLAW AND IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED, BECAUSE WE ARE NOT GETTING A WARNING THE SAME WAY WHEN THE LIGHT ARE IN THE "AUTO" POSITION. NISSAN POSITION IS THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY ARE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT.
CAR ROLLS BACK WHEN STOPPED ON A HILL. WE FIND IT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER SAYS, IT IS NORMAL.
WE PURCHASED A NEW NISSAN 2014 MURANO. WHEN WE PICKED UP THE VEHICLE, THE REAR VIEW CAMERA WAS DISTORTED AND FUZZY. WE WERE TOLD TO ADJUST THE SETTINGS AFTER WE GOT THE NEW CAR. WE WERE UNABLE TO DO THAT SO WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR (AUTOBARN NISSAN EVANSTON) AND IT WAS ALSO UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND WAS TOLD ALL 2014 NISSAN MURANO'S HAD THE SAME CAMERA AND ALL WORKED THE SAME WAY AND NISSAN DID NOT INTEND TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE BEEN TO TWO DEALERSHIPS WHICH BOTH ACKNOWLEDGED THE INSTALLED CAMERA IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THIS CREATES A HAZARD BECAUSE IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE WHAT IS BEHIND THE CAR WHEN BACKING UP DUE TO THE DISTORTION. THIS IS A KNOWN NISSAN DEFECT BUT IT CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX ITS DEFECT. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS REPAIRED SINCE THE DATE WE PURCHASED IT IN DECEMBER WITH ABOUT 100 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE "LANE DEPARTURE" AND "MOVING OBJECT" INDICATORS FLASHED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,400.
FIRST AND FOREMOST THE VEHICLE HAS A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND YOU STOP AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL IF THE ROAD HAS A SLIGHT INCLINE ( THE CAR IGNITION ON AND THE SHIFT IN DRIVE), THE VEHICLE WILL PROCEED TO ROLL BACKWARD INTO THE CAR BEHIND YOU. MOREOVER, . IF THE VEHICLE IS ON A SLIGHT DECLINE( THE CAR IGNITION ON AND SHIFT IN REVERSE) THE CAR WILL PROCEED TO ROLL FORWARD INTO CAR IN FRONT. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THE SITUATION WAS EXPLAINED IN DETAIL TO THE TECH. ,THE SERVICE TECH REPORTED, " THIS PARTICULAR TRANSMISSION, DOES NOT PREVENT THIS KIND OF OCCURRENCE" IN SHORT, THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY INVESTIGATED, AND THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
BLIND SPOT WARNING AND LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEMS FAIL AS INDICATED BY FLASHING GREEN LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND OCCURS DURING LONG TRIPS. THE SYSTEMS MAY FAIL AND BE UNAVAILABLE FOR VARIOUS AMOUNTS OF TIME AND THEN RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE CAN BE CORRECTED BY SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING. THE FAILURES OCCUR AT VARIOUS TIMES DURING A TRIP. WHEN THE SYSTEMS FAIL, THE BLIND SPOT WARNING LIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE, AND THE LANE DEPARTURE WARNING TONE DOES NOT HAPPEN. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ANY CODES THAT WOULD INDICATE A PROBLEM AND THEREFORE HAS NO IDEA HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SINCE THE DRIVER HAS TO MONITOR THESE SYSTEMS MORE CLOSELY THAN NORMAL, THIS COULD LEAD TO A SITUATION WHERE THE SYSTEM IS IN FAILURE WHEN IT IS MOST NEEDED. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER AT EVERY OIL CHANGE SERVICE SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED.
