MY DAUGHTER TOOK OUR BABY TO THE DAYCARE AND WAS ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE BITTER COLD IN OHIO AS SHE RAN OUT GAS. SHE CALLED AAA WHO SHOWED 2 HOURS LATER. IN THE MEANTIME SHE WAS WITHOUT ANY HEAT ON THE HIGHWAY IN12 TEMP. ALTHOUGH THE GAUGE SHOWED 1/2 OF TANK OF GAS, THE CAR WAS EMPTY. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH MY TO NJ COUNTING THE MILES SO I WOULD NOT RAN OUT OF GAS. I HAD IT FIXED AT THE WINDSOR NISSAN. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I PAID $500+ FOR A PROBLEM THAT WAS RECALLED. THIS HAS BEEN PUBLISHED EVEN BY THE US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMIN. WROTE A LETTER (I CAN PROVIDE) ON MARCH 3 2010, INFORMING NISSAN OF THE DANGER OF THIS ISSUE. THE REF NUMBER IS 10V-075 SUBJECT FUEL SYSTEM GASOLINE STORAGE AUXILIARY TANK. THE LETTER GOES TO EXPLAIN THE ISSUE WHICH COVERS MY CAR AND SAYS "THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALL IN TRAFFIC, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. ANOTHER REF NUMBER REGARDING THE NISSAN FUEL GASOLINE SYSTEM NUMBER- 10V-075000, AND ANOTHER SERVICE BULLETIN NTB-07-069C, ALL WITH THE SAME ISSUE ABOUT THE GAUGE BEING FAULTY AND READING THAT THE CAR HAS GAS WHEN IT DOESN'T. MY DAUGHTER WAS LUCKY THAT SHE HAD JUST DROPPED OFF THE BABY AND WHEN THE CAR RAN OUT OF GAS SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE WITHOUT ANY ACCIDENT. HOWEVER, BEING PUT THROUGH THE EXPERIENCE OF BEING IN OHIO IN WINTER WITHOUT HEAT IN A COLD CAR FOR 2 HOURS IS UNFORGIVABLE!! ALTHOUGH, I CALLED HEADQUARTER SEVERAL TIMES, THEY ACTED LIKE THEY DID NOT NOT ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY BACK. I HAVE ALL THE SERVICES BULLETIN AND WILL BE MORE THEN HAPPY TO SHARE, ALTHOUGH NISSAN CAN CALL US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION.PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE: HAD WORK DONE TO FUEL SYSTEM. I FILLED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB#91355526 FOR NOTHING. PLS HELP!!
ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. BEGAN WITH RADIATOR ISSUES. COME TO FIND OUT, THERE HAS BEEN MANY ISSUES WITH COOLANT MIXING INTO PLACES IT SHOULDN'T. THEN THE TORQUE CONVERTER WENT OUT, AND NOW THE SAFETY NEUTRAL SWITCH AND VALVE BODY. VERY SHORT ENGINEERING AND PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM OBVIOUSLY KNOWN TO NISSAN BUT NO RECALLS REPORTED.
I BEGAN TO HEAR A NOISE AND HESITATION IN GEAR CHANGE. TOLD TIRES BUT CONTINUE TO HEAR. HAD A OIL CHANGE AT TWIN CITY NISSAN. REP ADVICE COOLANT IN TRANSMISSION WOULD CHARGE $3000 TO REPAIR AND WARRANTY ON RADIATOR EXPIRES SOON. RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION AND FLUIDS FLUSHED FOR $3000 COST TO ME. CONTACT 1800 NISSAN 1 AND TOLD OVER 368 COMPLAINTS ITS MANUFACTURING DEFECT HE ADVICE CAN'T. HELP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SEIZED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000.
I TOOK MY PATHFINDER INTO A LOCAL SHOP BECAUSE I STARTED HEARING NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION AT AROUND 45 MPH. I WAS INFORMED ANTIFREEZE GOT INTO MY TRANSMISSION FLUID DUE TO A RADIATOR FAILURE. THE SHOP REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND FLUSHED THE TRANNY. OVER A $600 BILL. THE SHOP HOPED IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM WITHOUT REBUILDING OR REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. NO LUCK!! NOW I AM LOOKING AT ANOTHER $4000 PLUS ON SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. I WAS TOLD BY MANY SHOPS INCLUDING THE LOCAL DEALER THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. IF PROACTIVE BY THE MANUFACTURE COULD HAVE BEEN FIXED WITH REPLACEMENT OF THE RADIATOR. INSTEAD, NISSAN DECIDED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY. NEVER INFORMING CUSTOMERS TO HAVE INSPECTED FOR PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE RADIATOR OR TRANNY. *TR
COOLING LEAKS INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING VEHICLES TO STALL WHICH CAN CAUSE CRASH. NISSAN AMERICA ADVISE THEY ALL ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM. HAD NO RESOLUTION ADVISED THE WOULD REPAIR FOR $3000. THE VEHICLE HESITATE WHEN PRESSING THE GAS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE SENSOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT FLUID FROM THE RADIATOR HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,400.
DROVE VEHICLE OUT OF PARKING LOT AND LOST POWER IN TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED BY COOLANT CONTAMINATION FROM A CRACKED TRANSMISSION LINE IN THE RADIATOR. RESULTED IN A $6000+ REPAIR AT LOCAL REPAIR SHOP
RAN OUT OF GAS B/C FUEL GAUGE KEEPS SHOWING EMPTY EVEN WHEN IT IS FULL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE FUEL GAGE INDICATOR FAILED TO DISPLAY THE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL. THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM STORAGE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
THE VEHICCLE HAS TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR PROBLEM AS DIAGNOISED BY THE NISSAN DEALER TECHNICIA. NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH THIS MODELS AND THEY HAVE TO FIX THIS ISSUE AS IT IS ORIGINATED AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURING PROCESS. ITS A PRODUCTION DEFECT AND NISSAN HAS TO FIX THIS.

WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE TO RESPOND WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED IN AUGUST OF 2014. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,565.
THE RADIATOR LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE MAKING A LEFT TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. NO WARNING, NO PRIOR, NOISE OR VIBRATION, JUST A SUDDEN TOTAL FAILURE. THE CAUSE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS THE LEAKING COOLANT FROM THE TRANSMISSION RADIATOR. THE CURRENT NISSAN 'EXTENDED WARRANTY' IS NOT SUFFICIENT GIVEN THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM AND THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH A TRANSMISSION FAILURE DURING DRIVING. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF LOW GEAR, FORCING MY WIFE TO GET HOME ON ROAD SHOULDERS WITH EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. THANKFULLY VERY LIGHT TRAFFIC ON A WEEKDAY AFTERNOON. RESEARCHING ONLINE, FOUND THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE PATHFINDER, RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKING AND CAUSING TRANSMISSION FAILURE. NEVER NOTIFIED REGARDING ANY RECALLS OR SUCH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MECHANIC SAID O2 SENSORS WERE BAD, & REPLACE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF FOR A FEW DAYS. CAME BACK ON. THEN SUV STARTED RUNNING ROUGHLY, LOSING POWER. VDC/SLIP LIGHT CAME ON, TRUCK WAS DIFFICULT TO START, THEN IT CUT OFF IN TRAFFIC A FEW DAYS LATER. FOUND RESEARCH ON ECM RELAY. HAD IT REPLACED,TRUCK STILL HAVING DIFFICULTY STARTING. TODAY IT CUT OFF IN TRAFFIC AGAIN. MECHANIC SAID CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CMP BANK 1 BAD, CATALYTIC CONVERTER BANK 1 & 2 BAD. FUEL SYSTEM FAULTY AND IGNITION SYSTEM FAULTY. STILL PAYING ON TRUCK. *TR
RE: TRANSMISSION FLUID MIXED WITH RADIATOR FLUID CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. HAD TO REBUILD TRANSMISSION. I RECEIVED NO NOTICE OF THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT RE: NISSAN TRANSMISSION/ RADIATOR LEAK ISSUES. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014 MY TRANSMISSION STARTED TO FAIL. I HAD IT LOOKED AT BY TWO DIFFERENT SHOPS AND THEY ADVISED A RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. THIS COST ME: $5400 OUT OF POCKET. I NOW READ THAT NISSAN HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND WOULD COVER SOME CARS. MY CAR HOWEVER, IS OVER 100,000 MILES AND NISSAN IS NOT OFFERING ANY COMPENSATION. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED WITH NISSAN. *TR
THE VEHICLE BEGAN A SLIGHT SHUDDER WHEN SHIFTING AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS WHILE PASSING A TRUCK ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH IT SHIFTED VERY HARD AND RESPONDED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. ANY APPLICATION OF THE ACCELERATOR CAUSED HIGH RPM BUT GAVE NO ADDITIONAL POWER. I WAS FORCED TO PUT ON MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND MANEUVER THROUGH THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC AS I HAD LOST ALL POWER AND COULD NOT WAS JUST COASTING ALONG THE FREEWAY. IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT FORTUNATELY ENDED SAFELY NO THANKS TO THE CAR. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED BY MY MECHANIC THAT THE RADIATOR FLUID HAD MIXED WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS TO FAIL. AFTER SPENDING $1000.00 ON THE FIRST REPAIRS TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION 3 TIMES IT RAN FOR A WEEK AND BEGAN SHIFTING VERY HARD AGAIN. IT IS NOW IN THE SHOP BEING CONSIDERED FOR A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. HEARING ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION AND SIMILAR EXPERIENCES BY OTHERS IT IS A WONDER WHY THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY DEEMED A SAFETY RECALL SEEING AS HOW MY SAFETY WAS DEFINITELY IN JEOPARDY AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS FAILED. MY SON WAS IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION ON A BUSY STREET AND THIS PROBLEM JEOPARDIZED HIS LIFE.THE VEHICLE BASICALLY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN ONTO A BUSY STREET. THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION/RADIATOR BREAKDOWN IS A SERIOUS SITUATION AND A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES. MY RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND FAILED. THE AMOUNT TO REPAIR THIS VEHICLE AND MAKE THIS A SAFE VEHICLE IS MORE THAN WE CAN AFFORD....APPROXIMATELY $5300 BECAUSE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ALSO FAILED!! I FEEL THIS FAULTY PRODUCT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND NECESSARY REPAIRS MADE OR A REIMBURSEMENT MADE BY NISSAN. *TR
NISSAN DEALERSHIP JUST DIAGNOSED THAT MY RADIATOR WAS LEAKING INTO MY TRANSMISSION. THIS WAS PROBLEMATIC BECAUSE THE RADIATOR COOLANT HAS DAMAGED THE TRANSMISSION. IN APRIL OF 2014, I HAD MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY HAD FLUSHED AND REPLACED MY TRANSMISSION FLUID. *TR
THE VEHICLE LAGGED SHIFTING AND SHIFTED ABRUPTLY. ALSO THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. WHEN I TOOK IT TO AN AUTO SHOP (NOT A NISSAN SHOP) THEY INDICATED THE RADIATOR HAD A CRACK IN IT AND FLUID WAS LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION I TOOK IT TO A NISSAN SHOP AND THEY SAID THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE 2005 PATHFINDER AND THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM BUT IT WOULD COST ME $3000 AND THERE WOULD BE NO WARRANTY ON THE FIX. SEEMS UNFAIR IF, AS THEY ADMITTED AT MY LOCAL NISSAN SHOP, THIS WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND AFTER BRINGING VEHICLE TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THEY INFORMED ME THAT DUE TO AN INTERNAL RADIATOR CRACK, THAT ENGINE COOLANT HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION COOLING COILS AND AS A RESULT TRANSMISSION FAILURE WAS IMMINENT AND THAT BOTH THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEN THEY INDICATE THAT THEY HAD EXTENDED THE ORIGINAL VEHICLE WARRANTY DUE TO THE VOLUME OF SUCH FAILURES, AND THAT THEY WOULD MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS FOR A MEAGER $3,000 "COPAY". I LAUGHED BECAUSE I THOUGHT HE WAS MERELY MAKING A JOKE, BUT THEN FOUND OUT THAT THE JOKE WAS ON THE NISSAN CUSTOMERS. APPARENTLY AS A RESULT OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT, NISSAN HAD AGREED TO THE WARRANTY EXTENSION. WHAT A SLAP IN THE FACE, TO SAY THAT IN LIEU OF RECALLING THE DEFECTIVE RADIATOR, AND MAKING A $500 REPAIR, THEY DECIDED TO ROLL THE DICE WITH THEIR REPUTATION AND THEIR CUSTOMER'S WALLET ON A POTENTIAL $3,500 TO $4,000 REPAIR. WHAT A MORON BUSINESS DECISION. THE SECOND JOKE CAME, WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT THE WARRANTY ON THE REPAIR, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS ONLY 12 MONTHS OR 12,000 MILES. WHAT A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN THEIR $3,000 REPAIR (COPAY ??). SO FOR A FEW BUCKS MORE, I CAN HAVE AN INDEPENDENT SHOP DO THE REPAIR, AND GET A BETTER WARRANTY. INSULT # 3 CAME WHEN THEY OFFERED UP, THAT ALTERNATIVELY, THEY WOULD DISCUSS BUYER ASSISTANCE ON A NEW NISSAN VEHICLE. THEY PROBABLY HEARD ME LAUGHING IN JAPAN. *TR
MY RADIATOR CRACKED INTERNALLY AND LEAKED INTO MY TRANSMISSION, WHICH DESTROYED THE PARTS AND CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. *TR

GOT RECALL IN MAIL FOR RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION RECALL WHICH WE HAD TO PAY FOR?!?! OVER $2000. TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND NOT EVEN 3 MONTHS HAD GONE BY AND HAVE HAD THE TRUCK TO THE GARAGE 3 TIMES DUE TO DAMAGE FROM TRANSMISSION. GOT IN TRUCK TO GO TO WORK TODAY YUP YOU GUESSED IT TRANSMISSION IS NOW SHOT PUT IN DRIVE AND DOESN'T GO. TOTALLY UNFAIR NISSAN SHOULD HAVE REPLACED IT WHEN THE RECALL CAME OUT. WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER PAY FOR THERE SCREW UP? NEW TRANSMISSION $5000. WILL NEVER BUY NISSAN AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE I TELL EVERYONE. SO FAR TO DATE $5000. TO TRY TO FIX UP NISSAN'S MESS AND THEN I'M TO SPEND ANOTHER $5000. ON THERE MISTAKE. HA TOTAL BULL!!!!! THEY SHOULD HAVE STOOD BY THERE PRODUCT AND REPLACED EVERYTHING AT NO COST TO THE OWNER!!! ENGINE COOLANT LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING IRREPARABLE DAMAGE; REQUIRES BOTH THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION BE REPLACED. THIS PROBLEM WAS NOTICED WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR SHUDDERS AND THERE IS A HEAVY VIBRATION WHILE ACCELERATING/SHIFTING. THIS IS A CONCERN AS THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE MAY RESULT IN UNSAFE OPERATION OF THIS VEHICLE. *TR
ALL OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH MY TRANSMISSION FAILURE TOOK PLACE ON THE ROAD WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHICH WAS UNSAFE AND SCARY JULY 2014 - PRESENT. FIRST, THE TRUCK DEVELOPED A "BUCKING" MOVEMENT WHENEVER IT WAS DRIVEN. THE BUCKING MOVEMENT IS SIMILAR TO A CAR THAT IS TRYING TO SHIFT GEARS LIKE A MANUAL CAR, BUT THE TRANSITION BETWEEN GEARS WAS NOT SMOOTH. GRADUALLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY, WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR STARTED MAKING REVVING NOISES LIKE A RACE CAR, WHILE THE SPEED IS ONLY 20MPH. THE SPEED DROPPED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE REGARDLESS OF HOW HARD YOU ARE PRESSING ON THE GAS. TO DECREASE THE REVVING NOISE YOU CANNOT DRIVE ABOVE 40MPH. AS ALWAYS I RELY ON THE DEALERSHIP TO SERVICE MY CAR, AND AT FIRST THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST DID NOT SHOW THE COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. WITH MORE AND MORE TEST BY THE NISSAN MECHANIC, THERE WAS STILL NO INDICATION BY THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT SHOWS THE INCREASE DEFECT OF THE TRANSMISSION. 3 WEEKS LATER, AFTER HANDING OVER THE CAR FOR A COMPLETE DAY, THE DEALERSHIP STRIP THE CAR AND RAN FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO LEAK FROM THE ENGINE COOLANT LIQUID MIXING WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEADING TO AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DAMAGE. THE RECOMMENDATION BY THE DEALERSHIP IS TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH WOULD COST $5,000. REMAINING PAYMENT BALANCE FOR THE CAR IS $1700. TOTAL MILEAGE ON THE CAR IS 100,200. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS HESITATING AND STALLED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V142000 (POWER TRAIN). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE A/T TRANSMISSION BEGAN VIBRATING. THEN THE A/T TRANSMISSION BEGAN SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A GAS STATION AND INSPECT IT. I HAD THE VEHICLE'S TIRES REPLACED AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS THERE WAS A SHUDDER LIKE RUMBLE STRIPS. I TOOK THE PATHFINDER BACK TO HAVE THE TIRES LOOKED AT. REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE WHEEL BEARINGS. THE SHUDDER STILL PERSISTED. I TALKED TO A FRIEND WHO OWNS A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP AND HE TOLD ME ABOUT THE RADIATOR LEAK/TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. HE SAID TO CHECK THE ENGINE COOLANT FOR MILKINESS AND SEARCH ONLINE. THE COOLANT IS MILKY AND AFTER READING ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, MY FAMILY IS SCARED TO USE THE PATHFINDER. I THINK A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING BECAUSE OF FAILURE OF THE COOLING SYSTEM NOT WEAR AND TEAR. THIS IS A ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) ISSUE. MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER IS STALLING AT LOW ENGINE SPEEDS, RED LIGHTS, DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 65K MILES AND HAS HAD FOUR (4) ECM REPLACED. MY LAST ONE WENT BAD THREE HOURS AFTER DRIVING OUT OF A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE I SPENT $1300 TO REPLACE IT. NISSAN REFUSES TO PAY FOR IT STATING THEY ALREADY REPLACED ONE VIA RECALL AND "THINGS FAIL". *TR
I WAS DRIVING ALONG A LOCAL ROAD AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, MY ENGINE STARTING REVVING AND THE CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN. I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, BUT WHEN IT TURNED GREEN, MY CAR WOULDN'T MOVE FOR ABOUT A SECOND OR TWO WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDDLE. WHEN IT DID MOVE, IT CRAWLED ALONG AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. I MANAGED TO GET IT HOME AND TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC ON MONDAY. I WAS TOLD THAT COOLANT FROM MY RADIATOR LEAKED INTO MY TRANSMISSION AND DESTROYED IT. ON RESEARCHING THIS, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE IN 2005 - 2010 NISSAN TRUCKS BUT NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF IT AND DID NOT ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
THE TORQUE CONVERTER IN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. I NOTICED THE VEHICLE STUTTERING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS DURING MY TIME ON THE ROAD. I HAD AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CHECK IT AND A NISSAN DEALER CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS. I WAS TOLD THE RADIATOR AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. I FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON-LINE SIMILAR TO MINE; THE 2005 MODEL SHOWED THE MOST PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T HAVE THE $5,000 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE COMPANY EXTENDED SOME WARRANTIES DUE TO THIS PROBLEM, BUT ALL HAD EXPIRED OR I HAD TOO MANY MILES (131,000), AND A COPAY OF $3000 WAS REQUIRED. NISSAN SUGGESTED AN INITIAL TRANSMISSION FLUSH, BUT RECOMMENDS A $5,500 TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT IN ADDITION TO A $620 RADIATOR. EXTENDED WARRANTY STATES REPAIRS ARE NOT COVERED. TOTAL BULL! COST OF REPAIRS $6000! CONTACTED NISSAN TO SEE HOW THEY WOULD ASSIST WITH THIS PROBLEM AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD THEY WOULDN'T. WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS OR REPAIRS BY NISSAN NOW IS A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS TO CONSUMERS BECAUSE OF THE NEGLECT FROM NISSAN CORP AND MANY OF IT'S CERTIFIED DEALERS TO MAKE CONSUMERS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE SPENT 440 DOLLARS SO FAR TO GET THE WATER OUT OF IT...... I PICK THE PATHFINDER UP AND DROVE 10 MILE DOWN THE STREET AND THE TRUCK DID IT AGAIN...... I GOT MY OIL CHANGED AT TEAM NISSAN IN LITHIA SPRINGS, AND ON THE 2ND DAY OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE MY 2005 PATHFINDER OVERHEATED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED TEAM NISSAN AND TOLD THEM OF THE PROBLEM, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY APOLOGIZE AND TO BRING IT IN. WELL THE SUV WAS TOO HOT TO PUT ON THE ROAD AT THAT POINT SO I STOPPED BY WAL-MART TO ADD COOLANT. I LET THE TRUCK COOL OFF AND THEN ADDED COOLANT. THE LEVELS THEN APPEARED NORMAL AND I MADE MY WAY TO TEAM NISSAN. WHEN I GOT THERE THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD SEE ME AND TO COME BACK THE NEXT DAY. WHILE I WAS TALKING WITH THE REP. I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A GUY TOPPING OFF MY FLUIDS UNDER THE HOOD. WHEN I CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY, THEY CHECK IT AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD NO COOLANT AND THAT MY RADIATOR FLUID HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE FLUIDS WERE MIXING. THE REPAIRS TOTALED UP TO $5028.43 INCLUDING A RADIATOR REPLACEMENT, COOLANT FLUSH, AND A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. I TOLD HIM THAT I HAD HEARD OF OTHER RECALLS AND COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS (I HAD JUST HEARD ONE OF THE REPS CALL A CUSTOMER AND TELL HIM THAT HIS RECALL ON THE SAME ISSUES WERE COMPLETE AND THAT HE COULD PICK UP HIS VEHICLE), BUT HE SAID THAT NOTHING WAS SHOWING IN THE SYSTEM. I THEN TOLD HIM THAT I COULD NOT GET THAT DONE AT THIS TIME AND I ENQUIRED THAT I HAVE NOT HAD THIS ISSUE AT OTHER PLACES AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. HE GAVE ME AN EXCUSE AS THE GUY DID THE DAY BEFORE AND SHRUGGED ME OFF. HE SUGGESTED THAT I NEEDED TO CHECK THE COOLANT EVERY OTHER DAY AND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS LIKELY TO CONTINUE. WHILE DRIVING AWAY FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE SUV HESITATES OUT OF FIRST GEAR AND A LOUD POP AS IT DRAGS INTO SECOND GEAR. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DC AREA DEALER I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION COOLANT LINE HAD CRACKED AND COOLANT HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION DESTROYING IT. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT REPAIRS WOULD BE $7600 AND THAT THIS WAS NOT A RECALL ITEM. IN RESEARCHING THIS IT APPEARS THAT OTHERS IN THE COUNTRY HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND NISSAN HADN'T ISSUED A RECALL BUT SETTLED A CLASS ACTION SUIT ASSISTING OTHERS WITH THE REPAIR COSTS AFTER AN INITIAL $2500 TO $3000 COST TO THE CUSTOMER. THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE FOR SOME TIME AND I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHY NO RECALL WAS EVER ISSUED FOR THOSE NOT HAVING PROBLEMS ALREADY??? *TR
COOLANT MIXED WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CAUSING CATASTROPHIC FAILURE.AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE,THERE ARE THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRING WHICH COULD POSSIBLY BE LIFE THREATENING IN CERTAIN INSTANCES...THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE FIRST TIME 3 YEARS AGO. HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE RADIATOR LEAKING A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME TO PUT IN SOME FLUID THAT SEALS UP THE LEAK. WORKED WELL FOR A WHILE. THEN THIS MAY THE TRANSMISSION STARTED MAKING NOISES AND VIBRATIONS. TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE TELLS ME THAT THE RADIATOR HAS LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. ABOUT $1,000 TO FIX IT. I SAY GO AHEAD AS WHAT CHOICE DO I HAVE. THEY REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION ABOUT 4 TIMES. ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE TRANSMISSION STARTS SHIFTING INTO 4WD BY ITSELF AND THE CAR WON'T GO ANYWHERE WHILE GIVING IT GAS. TURN IT OFF THEN ON AND THAT FIXES IT. I TAKE IT TO NISSAN BECAUSE MY MECHANIC SHOP WAS CLOSED. I EXPLAIN MY PREVIOUS REPAIRS AND MY PROBLEM. THEY TELL ME ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. ASK ME IF I HAVE A FACTORY OR AFTER MARKET RADIATOR INSTALLED. I DON'T KNOW. SO I WAIT UNTIL MONDAY TO TALK TO MY ORIGINAL MECHANIC AND THEY SAY IT WAS AN AFTERMARKET. NISSAN SAYS THIS IS A PROBLEM AND AFTER TALKING TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T HONOR THE WARRANTY. I ASK THEM TO MAYBE TAKE A STATEMENT FROM MY MECHANIC THAT HE TOOK OUT THE ORIGINAL FACTORY RADIATOR AND REPLACED IT, BUT THEY SAY THEY NEED THE ORIGINAL WHICH WAS TAKEN TO THE SCRAP YARD. NISSAN HAD TO REPLACE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND NOW I THINK I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. LESSON LEARNED THAT NISSAN DOES NOT MAKE GOOD CARS. AND WON'T BACK THEM UP EITHER. *TR

THE PERSON THAT STOPPED TO HELP US INFORMED US THAT HIS BROTHER HAD THIS SAME ISSUE WITH HIS PATHFINDER AND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL. WELL ? WE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ? THE TRUCK NOW HAS 135K MILES AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THEIR CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT. CALLED A LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT OUR ISSUE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL AND THEY HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY. MY ISSUE IS ? IF I HAD RECEIVED THE RECALL WHEN IT WAS ISSUED IN 2010 ? I WOULD HAVE HAD THE REPAIRS MADE WHILE IT WAS COVERED?. SO HOW ARE THEY NOT RESPONSIBLE - WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED???
