THE LIGHT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WOULD NOT GO OFF, AND ENGINE WOULD BE SURGING AND THE CAR WOULD SHAKE, EVEN IF THE CAR WAS ON CRUSE CONTROL MODE AND SPECIALLY GOING UP HILL. WE TOOK IT TO A DEALER TWICE AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM- "COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THEY "UPDATED THE SOFTWARE" TO NO AVAIL. THEY SEND US TO THE COMPANY AND THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING.
TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A LOW SPEED OF APPROX 25-30 MPH. ENTIRE VEHICLE SHAKES LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING OVER SPEED BUMPS. OCCURS EVERYDAY. *TR
I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES BECAUSE AT SLOW SPEEDS IT SHUDDERS LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION WHEN YOU DO NOT DOWNSHIFT. THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON AS TO WHEN IT DOES THIS. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU ACCELERATE AROUND 50 MPH THAT IT DOES NOTHING AND THEN DECIDES TO JUST TAKE OFF. THE DEALER HAD IT FOR EIGHT DAYS ON ONE OCCASION AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM - AGAIN HAPPENS AT ANY TIME AND NOT CONSISTENTLY. THE DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTER ON IT SO NISSAN CAN TELL THEM WHAT TO DO. THIS IS ABSURD. THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND ADMIT IT BUT WON'T TACKLE THE PROBLEM HEAD ON. I GUESS THEY NEED TO HAVE A TRAGIC ACCIDENT BEFORE THEY ARE FORCED TO DO SOMETHING. IT'S TIME FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE DEALER HAD EIGHT TRANSMISSION ISSUES IN THE SHOP WHEN MINE WAS IN LAST WEEK. BUT THEY CLAIM THEIR HANDS ARE TIED. NHTSA TIME TO STEP IN. *TR
IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES ALREADY, CAR STARTED SHAKING AND IT STOP ALL OF A SUDDEN, ALL TRANSMISSION FLUID AND COOLANT DRAINED OUT. LUCKILY WE DID'N GET HIT FROM THE BACK BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME WAS WHEN WE STOP ON A RED LIGHT AND IT DIDN'T MOVE AT ALL WE TOW IT TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT BUT THAT WAS FIXED. I HAD A BAD FEELING AND TOOK IT TO PUENTE HILLS NISSAN WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR. BUT THEY TOLD TO COMEBACK NEXT DAY SO ON MY WAY HOME ON THE FREEWAY IT STARTED AGAIN WE JUST HAD SECONDS TO PULL ASIDE FROM THE ROAD AND THE CAR DIDN'T MOVED AT ALL, FLUIDS DRAINED OUT AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE SMOKE WAS EVEN WORST I HAD A PANIC ATTACK BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE SO I'VE JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR "ON THE FREEWAY" WITHOUT THINKING THAT I COULD GET KILLED. THE CAR GOT TOWED TO PUENTE HILLS NISSAN AND "THEY FIXED IT". WHEN THEY WERE TESTING IT IT HAPPENED AGAIN!! THEY TOWED THE CAR BACK AND NOW AFTER A WEEK THEY SAID THAT THEY ALREADY FIXED THE PROBLEM THAT IT WAS THE RADIATOR THAT HAD TOO MUCH PRESSURE SO WAS HEATING UP AND SHOOTING THE HOSES OFF SO THEY NOW REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND TOLD ME TO GO AND PICK UP THE CAR. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING AROUND WITH MY FAMILY THIS SITUATION CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. NISSAN DEALER WON'T REPLACE THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THERE IS THE LEMON LAW THAT STATES THAT AFTER 3 REPAIRS FROM THE SAME ISSUE THE CAR HAS TO BE REPLACED AND EVEN MORE BECAUSE IT WAS A BRAND NEW CAR AND WE ONLY HAD IT FOR 6 WEEKS. AND THERE WAS ALSO 2 RECALLS ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE ONE ON THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND OTHER ONE ON THE AIR BAGS SO NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG ERRONEOUSLY DEACTIVATED WHILE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE ROUGHLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700.
TRANSMISSION (CVT) ON SLOW ACCELERATION WILL SHUTTER/SHAKE BETWEEN 20-25 MPH. ALSO, WILL REPEAT AT APPROX 40 MPH. ON 4-17-13, WAS TOLD BY NISSAN DEALER THAT NISSAN WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM BUT DID NOT HAVE A FIX AT THIS TIME. PROBLEM IS WORSE WITH HOT ENGINE/TRANSMISSION. I WORRY TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL WHILE TRAVELING AS THIS IS OUR VACATION VEHICLE. CERTAINLY A MAJOR PROBLEM AS A TRANSMISSION WOULD BE SAFETY RELATED. HOW LONG FOR NISSAN TO "FIND" A FIX???? BOUGHT A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER IN NOVEMBER. 3 MONTHS LATER AND 2 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME WE STARTED FEELING A "JUTTER" AND COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. LEAVING MYSELF (32 WEEKS PREGNANT), MY 2 YEAR OLD, AND 5 YEAR OLD STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE NORTHWAY IN 20* WEATHER. THERE WAS SMOKE BILLOWING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE TRANSMISSION BLEW, A NEW TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN ORDERED BUT, IT IS UNKNOWN HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO FIX. NISSAN NOR MY LOCAL DEALER ARE DOING ANYTHING RECTIFY THE PROBLEM APPARENTLY, I SHOULD TAKE AN $8,000 LOSS BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL SAFE PUTTING MY FAMILY IN THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT THAT CAN'T GET US FROM POINT A TO POINT B. *TR
PASSENGER WEIGHING >120 LBS SITTING ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT "OFF" WAS LIT INDICATING THAT THE AIRBAG WAS TURNED OFF. THE LIGHT TURNED OFF AFTER ABOUT 5 MIN OF DRIVING BUT CAME ON AGAIN A FEW MINUTES LATER. *TR
ABOUT 4 HOURS INTO OUR RETURN TRIP ON FRIDAY, MARCH 29, I WAS DRIVING ON I295 AROUND THE CITY OF RICHMOND, VA. WE WERE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC TRAVELLING ABOUT 75 MPH WHEN OUR CAR BACKFIRED. MY WIFE AND I LOOKED AT EACH OTHER, AND NOTHING SEEMED TO HAPPEN TO THE CAR. SO WE CONTINUED DRIVING THINKING THE BACKFIRE WAS A NOISE FROM A SOURCE OTHER THAN OUR CAR. HOWEVER, WHEN I BRAKED SHORTLY THEREAFTER BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC BUILDUP THE CAR STALLED AT 40 MPH. I WAS STUNNED BUT QUICKLY RESPONDED BY RESTARTING THE CAR. FROM THAT POINT ON THE CAR REPEATEDLY STALLED EACH TIME WE BRAKED AND/OR REDUCED SPEED. *JS
JUNE 23, 2013 - I PURCHASED MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER IN MARCH. IT HAS HAD THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM SINCE I GOT IT. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOPPING, OR WHEN INCREASING SPEED WHEN TURNING, THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS. IT SOMETIMES VIBRATES AND ALSO FEELS LIKE I'M GOING OVER SOMETHING ROUGH. IT FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE IS GOING TO SHUT COMPLETELY OFF WHEN IT DOES THIS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON NOW FOR 3 1/2 MONTHS.. I HAVE CONTACTED CONSUMER AFFAIRS BUT AS OF TODAY, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS CONSISTENT EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT AND IS GETTING WORSE. *TR
OUR 2013 PATHFINDER STARTED TO SHUDDER UPON ACCELERATION. IT INITIALLY HAPPENED PRIOR TO THIS MILEAGE, BUT IT WAS INTERMITTENT AND WE THOUGHT WE HAD JUST DRIVEN OVER A ROUGH PATCH OF ROAD. HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE INCREASED IN DURATION AND FREQUENCY UNTIL THE CAR WOULD ALMOST STALL. YOU WOULD HAVE TO STOP ACCELERATION AND THEN RESUME FOR IT TO STOP. IT MOST FREQUENTLY HAPPENED AFTER MAKING A TURN...UNFORTUNATELY..THIS IS OFTEN AFTER A STOP SIGN WHEN YOU NEED ACCELERATION OR GETTING ON THE FREEWAY. THE ECM HAS BEEN REFLASHED, REPLACED TORQUE CONVERTERS AND A COUPLE CVT TRANSMISSION IN THE FIRST YEAR. THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. IT STARTS SMALL AND THEN RAMPS UP AS MILEAGE INCREASES. THE AIR BAG CONTINUES TO GO ON AND OFF WHILE A PASSENGER IS SEATED. THE PASSENGER IS AN ADULT OVER 110LBS, BUT THE DEALERSHIP MAINTAINS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. WE'VE DRIVEN DOWN THE FREEWAY FOR 1 HOUR WITH NO PROBLEM AND THEN THE LIGHT WILL COME ON WHICH MEANS THE AIRBAG IS NOT FUNCTIONING. WE'VE TRIED DIFFERENT SITTING POSITIONS TO SEE IF THAT IS THE CAUSE, BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER. IT ALSO KEEPS BLOWING FUSES FOR THE REAR HEATED SEATS. *TR
DRIVING HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE NIGHT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND I NOTICE THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIRBAG ICON FLASHING. (I DON'T RECALL SEEING IT DURING THE TEST DRIVE.) I DID NOT IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZE THE ICON, SO WHEN I GOT HOME, I LOOKED IT UP IN THE MANUAL, AND IT TELLS ME THAT I MUST GET IT SERVICED AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. REALLY? NOT EVEN 15 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING IT OFF THE LOT, AND I HAVE TO BRING IT BACK TO BE SERVICED??? NISSAN BETTER GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER. *TR
INTERMITTENTLY WHEN MY WIFE, WHO WEIGHS 110 LBS. SITS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, SHUT IT OFF AND RESTART IT ONE OR TWO TIMES. I HAVE HAD IT BACK TO THE NISSAN SERVICE CENTER, THEY CHECK EVERYTHING OUT AND TELL ME IT'S WORKING AS DESIGNED. IT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR SENSOR REPLACEMENT. THE LAST TIME I WAS THERE THEY SAID THEY COULD RESET THE COMPUTER TO 0 TOLERANCE. NOT SURE WHAT THAT DOES TO THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. THEY HAVE TOLD MY WIFE TO SIT ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT AND ALSO IN THE CENTER OF THE SEAT. WHICH DOESN'T SEEM TO MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS 04/06/15. *TR
PURCHASED THIS CROSSOVER ON 12/14/2012. LOSS OF POWER HAS OCCURRED TWICE WHILE ACCELERATING FROM BETWEEN 15-30MPH WHILE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED. WHEN I TRIED TO FLOOR THE ACCELERATOR, THE RPM'S INCREASED BUT THE CVT DID NOT ENGAGE. HAD TO REMOVE FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR THEN REAPPLY FOR THE CVT TO RE-ENGAGE. CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON 5-31-13 WHO SAID MY VIN IS NOT PART OF ANY UPDATES/RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE. SAID TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR EVALUATION. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE 'JUDDER/SHUTTER' ABOUT 3-4 TIMES AS WE'LL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND IN THE CITY. I HAVE READ ON SOME DISCUSSION BOARDS THAT A 'FIX/PART' IS IN THE WORKS FOR LATE JUNE. *TR
2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER: THE PABI LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE LIGHT STAYS ON AS THE INDIVIDUAL SITS' IN THE CORRECT POSITION AS THE OWNER MANUAL'S STATES. THE LIGHT ALSO STAYS ON WHILE NO ONE IS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON FEBRUARY 18, 2013 (NEW). THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN 7 TIMES FOR THE SAME REPAIR. THE HAVE REPLACED THE SENSORS, THE SEAT AND THE PROBLEMS STILL OCCURS. *TR
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ONGOING ISSUES WITH MY PATHFINDER SINCE PURCHASE WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. INITIALLY IT WOULD NOT DETECT ANYBODY WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE DEALER TRY TO RESET THE SENSOR SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. NOW ALL AIRBAG WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON AND PER THE OWNERS MANUAL THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. I WAS TOLD IN JAN PARTS WERE ORDERED TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND THEY ARE STILL NOT IN. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM VERY VERY UPSET AND WILL BE LOOKING INTO LEGAL ACTIONS. *TR

I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER'S TRANSMISSION THAT I PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2013. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 2,800 MILES ON MY VEHICLE AT THIS TIME, SEPTEMBER 2013. NISSAN IS REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION AT THIS TIME. THE PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED WAS WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT AROUND 25-30 MPH AND/OR BETWEEN 40-45, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDER AND ALSO GIVE THE NOISE OF "RUNNING OVER A RUMBLE STRIP." I BELIEVE NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THIS TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE IT WITH A "FIXED" TRANSMISSION. I ALSO BELIEVE NISSAN SHOULD US OF THOSE WHO HAVE THESE VEHICLES A 10 YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION, IF NOT A "LIFETIME" WARRANTY, OR THEY SHOULD RETURN OUR MONEY AND TAKE THE VEHICLES BACK! WE HAVE PURCHASED A "LEMON" IN MY OPINION AND WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO FORFEIT $35,000-$48,000 (DEPENDING ON THE VEHICLE A PERSON PURCHASED) OF OUR HARD-EARNED MONEY TO NISSAN. OUR VEHICLES ARE BASICALLY NOT WORTH ANY OF THE MONEY WE PAID FOR THEM. WHO WOULD WANT ONE? DO YOU WANT TO BUY MY VEHICLE FROM ME? I'LL SELL IT TO YOU. THANK YOU!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BECAME RESISTANT TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS AS SHE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A TRAFFIC STOP. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE HAD BECOME DEFLATED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE UNDER-CARRIAGE AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD BE SENT TO FURTHER ACCESS THE FAILURE BECAUSE A COMPONENT HAD FRACTURED UNDER THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE RIM TO BECOME SHREDDED AND THE BRAKE LINES TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND AN INVESTIGATION WAS PENDING. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 1,400. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER, I NOTICED A SHUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING AT LOW SPEEDS. THIS HAS RANDOMLY HAPPENED AT LEAST 10-15 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. AFTER A STOP OR SLOW TO AROUND 10 MILES PER HOUR, THE CAR SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION. MANY TIMES IT HAPPENS DURING A TURN WITH ACCELERATION BUT IT ALSO HAS HAD THE PROBLEM DURING STRAIGHT ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM DURING MULTIPLE SERVICES BUT TECHS WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND DID NO REPAIRS. *TR
WHEN STARTING FROM BEING STOPPED AND ALSO WHEN GOING SLOW FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR, TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AND JERKS LIKE IT IS STUCK AND CAN'T GET INTO THE NEXT GEAR. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THAT NISSAN IS INVESTIGATING BUT DOESN'T HAVE A FIX YET BUT HOPES TO BY APRIL 2013. MOST EXPENSIVE CAR WE EVER BOUGHT AND WE HAVE ONLY HAD IT A MONTH AND IT IS DOING IT MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY. IF NISSAN KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM THEY SHOULD HAVE STOPPED SELLING THE CARS OR AT LEAST NOTIFY THE POTENTIAL BUYER OF THE PROBLEM. WE ALSO HAVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG PROBLEM TOO. *TR
FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WOULD GO OFF WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT. SOMETIMES RESETS AND GOES OFF AFTER TURN PATHFINDER OFF BUT EVENTUALLY ALWAYS COMES BACK ON. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP THEY DID A "ZERO RESET" AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT THEM IF LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. THEY ALSO HAD TO FIX A COUPLE OF MINOR COSMETIC ISSUES SO I ENDED UP WITH A RENTAL CAR FOR A FEW DAYS...A 2012 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN HUSBAND SAT IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THAT AIRBAG LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. *TR
PURCHASED MY NEW 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER IN FEBRUARY, 2013. EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AFTER THE FIRST 100 MILES I PUT ON THE CAR. I EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM 4 TIMES IN THE FIRST 400 MILES. THEN I EXPERIENCED A MAJOR PROBLEM TURNING LEFT FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THE CAR BARELY COASTED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. I HAD TO PUMP THE GAS PEDAL ABOUT 4 TIMES TO GET THE CAR MOVING. LUCKILY I WAS TURNING LEFT AT A GREEN ARROW SO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC HAD A RED LIGHT AND WAS STOPPED. I ASKED THE DEALER TO PICK IT UP AS I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. THEY HAD IT A WEEK AND OPENED A TICKET WITH NISSAN. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND HADN'T HEARD OF ANY OTHER SIMILAR ISSUES SO THEY ASKED ME TO PICK UP THE CAR. MY HUSBAND DROVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY FOR WORK (ABOUT 1200 MILES) AND NOTICED A LITTLE SLUGGISHNESS FROM A FULL STOP BUT NOT TOO BAD. IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN THEY TOLD ME TO PRESS HARDER ON THE GAS PEDAL. I TOLD THEM THAT WAS AN UNACCEPTABLE SOLUTION. I ASKED FOR AN UPGRADED RENTAL SINCE I'M NOW PAYING FOR A PATHFINDER BUT DRIVING A BASIC ROGUE THAT THEY "RENTED" TO ME. I AM CURRENTLY ESCALATING THE MATTER THROUGH NISSAN. I WAS DRIVING AND HIT A CURB WITH THE 2 PASSENGER SIDE WHEELS SIMULTANEOUSLY AS I WAS COMING OUT OF A TURN. ONLY GOING 15-20 MPH. THE TIRES DIDN'T EVEN POP BUT ALL 3 SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE DIDN'T ROLL EITHER. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DRIVEABLE OTHER THAN THE AIRBAG PROBLEM. NISSAN CLAIMS THE AIRBAGS ACTED PROPERLY AFTER THEY REVIEWED THE DATA RECORDER BUT TO ME THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. NISSAN REIMBURSED ME FOR MY $1,000 INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE WHICH TELLS ME THEY AGREE SOMETHING WAS WRONG EVEN THOUGH THEY DENY IT.
THE 2013 PATHFINDER 3RD ROW SEAT HEAD RESTS ARE TOO TALL CAUSING YOUR BLIND SPOT TO INCREASE (TWO OR THREE TIMES MORE). WITH THOSE SEATS IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION YOU CAN NOT SEE THE TRAFFIC IN THE OPPOSITE LANE WHEN LOOKING IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR UNLESS IT'S ABOUT A CAR LENGTH BEHIND YOU. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT LEADING TO AN INJURY OR POSSIBLY DEATH BECAUSE YOU DID NOT SEE THE VEHICLE IN YOUR NOW EXTENDED BLIND SPOT. DEALERSHIP DETERMINED CODE WAS "TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SWITCH." THE SERVICE TECH ERASED THE CODE WITHOUT PERFORMING SERVICE. 5 DAYS LATER DRIVER DETECTED TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE. DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. SERVICE TECH AND DRIVER TOOK A TEST DRIVE. SERVICE TECH CONFIRMED TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. THE RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED SAID THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT) CHAIN MIGHT SLIP AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO "JUDDER", WHICH IT DID MANY TIMES. THE VEHICLE ACTS LIKE THE ENGINE WILL DIE WHEN STOPPING OR ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, CAUSING HESITATION THAT COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. THEN IT WOULD STOP IF I DID NOT TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR. THEN 4000 - 6000 RPMS. IT SEEMED VERY UNSAFE AND OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I DECIDED TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND ON THE EXIT RAMP WHEN I HEARD A LARGE GRINDING NOISE AND THE CAR STOPPED. THERE WAS AN AWFUL BURNING SMELL AND THE CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE IN ADDITION TO THE SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE HOOD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WOULD NOT START. IT ALSO STOPPED IN A VERY UNSAFE LOCATION AND EVENTUALLY THE STATE POLICE CAME TO PUSH ME OUT OF THE WAY. CALLED MY NISSAN DEALER, THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK AND I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. LATER THAT DAY I FOUND OUT THAT THE RECOMMENDATION WAS FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS, I WAS DRIVING A $40,000 BRAND NEW SUV AND THAT WAS THE ONLY OPTION. THE DEALER ALSO INDICATED THAT NISSAN HAS NOT ISSUED ANY SERVICE BULLETINS ADDRESSING KNOWN CONCERNS FOR EITHER THE TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE IN THE 2013 MODEL YEAR PATHFINDER. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CONSISTENTLY REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. IF THIS SHUTTERING WERE TO OCCUR AS I PULLED INTO TRAFFIC, I FEAR THIS MAY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY @55MPH THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV FROM LOW TO VERY HIGH RPMS. ALL OF A SUDDEN CABIN BEGAN TO FILL WITH SMOKE AND LOST COMPLETE POWER TO DRIVE TRAIN. MOVE TO THE SIDE OF ROAD AND AVOIDED A HUGE ACCIDENT WITH 2 CHILDREN ON BOARD. *TR
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ONGOING ISSUES WITH MY PATHFINDER SINCE PURCHASE WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. INITIALLY IT WOULD NOT DETECT ANYBODY WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE DEALER TRY TO RESET THE SENSOR SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. NOW ALL AIRBAG WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON AND PER THE OWNERS MANUAL THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. I WAS TOLD IN JAN PARTS WERE ORDERED TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND THEY ARE STILL NOT IN. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM VERY VERY UPSET AND WILL BE LOOKING INTO LEGAL ACTIONS. *TR
WHEN I WOULD PARK ON A HILL THE PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT HOLD THE CAR AND THE CAR WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS UNTIL THE PARKING PAWL WAS ENGAGED SO THE TRANSMISSION WAS HOLDING THE CAR ON THE HILL. IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION THE PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. TOOK CAR TO THE DEALER AND PARKING BRAKE WAS ADJUSTED. NOW, NO PROBLEMS HOLDING THE CAR ON A HILL. NISSAN SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THIS BEFORE GIVING ME THE CAR. *TR
AFTER FUELING MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME, I HEADED OUT AND NOTICED SMOKE AROUND MY VEHICLE. A NEIGHBORING VEHICLE MOTIONED FOR ME TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW AND SAID I HAD FLUID THAT LOOKED LIKE ANTI FREEZE POURING OUT FROM BENEATH MY 2013 PATHFINDER. I TRIED TO PULL OVER BUT THE SUV WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE FORWARD AND I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH MY CHILDREN. NOT KNOWING WHY MY VEHICLE WAS SMOKING, I CONTACTED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. SOME PEOPLE STOPPED TO HELP AND PUSH THE VEHICLE FROM THE STREET. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED. A TOWING COMPANY WAS SENT OUT. I WAS TOLD THE TOWING COMPANY'S HAVE BEEN TOWING THESE BRAND NEW VEHICLES ALOT, SOME THAT WERE DRIVEN OFF THE LOT AND HAD TO BE TOWED. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I FOUND THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND THIS ISSUE WAS UNDER A LAW SUIT FOR THE 2005-2010 MODEL PATHFINDERS. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE NISSAN HAS RESOLVED THE ISSUE JUST YET. *TR
