The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for routine maintenance, and the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the air bag and sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact refused the repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Airbag light blinks all the time. DTC B00A0-00 (OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR UNIT). I can't reset it even I tried everything using "diagnostic mode" with ignition on/off process or OBD II tool. Nissan has Service Bulletin NTB19-071 which includes my vehicle year(2017) in it, but I couldn't find it from the recall case. Only 2013~2016 Pathfinder has recall history with NTB16-054a. I think 2017 also have same issue. There's no issue to drive so far with airbag light blinking, but I'm not sure if the airbag will be deployed when it needs to do.
Faulty airbag module. Error Code DTC-B0020-13. Requires replacement of the left front seat back assembly.
Airbag light blinks/ disabled all the time. DTC B00A0-00 (OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR UNIT) Can't reset/ reprogram! Nissan has Service Bulletin NTB19-071 which includes My vehicle year in it, but when called Dealer was told no recalls for that issue! Vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS CROSSING AN INTERSECTION AT 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS DRIVING RECKLESS AND DROVE PAST A LEFT TURN STOP LIGHT CAUSING THAT VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ON IMPACT, THE VEHICLE'S AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED EITHER. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HIS NECK, BACK, LEFT ELBOW AND BOTH KNEES. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED NECK, BACK AND LEFT SHOULDER INJURIES. BOTH PARTIES WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE THEY WERE TREATED FOR THEIR INJURIES. THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE OTHER DRIVER WERE UNKNOWN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *BF*JB
MY 2017 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS A FAULTY OCCUPANCY SENSOR AND PER NISSAN MY 2017 NISSAN PATHFINDER IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE MASSIVE OCCUPANCY SENSOR RECALL INCLUDING OVER 3,000,000,000 NISSANS. HTTPS://WWW.CARS.COM/ARTICLES/NISSANS-MASSIVE-AIRBAG-RECALL-WHAT-OWNERS-NEED-TO-KNOW-1420684514439/ THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY WITH A FAULTY SENSOR. NISSAN CLAIMS THE SENSOR IS FAULTY DUE TO THINGS SUCH AS A WATER BOTTLE BEING FOUND UNDER THE SEAT. BECAUSE MY SUV IS OUT OF WARRANTY DUE TO MILES NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. I SUSPECT THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED AS I WONDER HOW MANY OTHER NISSANS OWNERS ARE TOLD THEIR OCCUPANCY SENSORS ARE BROKEN DUE TO THEIR OWN ACTIONS RATHER THAN BEING FAULTY. SHAME ON YOU NISSAN.
