I have a 2012 Nissan Rogue with 84,000 miles and my CVT makes a howling noise when I start up the car. After warming up the car, the howling noise continues onto the local city streets and into the highway, and after a few minutes of driving, the screeching sounds go away. A few weeks later, I brought the car into a local mechanic for an oil change and the mechanic determined that the transmission needs to be replaced. I have maintained the car in optimal care by ensuring maintenance and general repairs are done bi-annually. After discussing this matter with Nissan Corporate, they determined my car warranty has expired and they cannot extend other Nissan Rogue extended warranty for my car. However, the 2003-2010 Nissan vehicles equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) have a 10-year/120,000-mile (whichever comes first) CVT limited warranty extension, according to the Nissan Corporate warranty page. The cost to fix the car is approximately $5,500. The replacement of the transmission and additional normal wear and tear repairs (back rotors and pads) will cost more than the value of the car. Due to the faulty CVT design based on historic reporting on this model, I am very disappointed to learn that the quality and integrity of the transmission for having a car at such a low mileage. I had been lucky to bring the car into a local mechanic just in time before it stopped working. Had the car stopped on the highway, I would have caused a major traffic accident due to the poor quality design of the transmission.

The rear transmission area makes a loud grinding noise on turns under 10 miles an hour. Needs a rear electronic coupler. Happening on many years of this car model
While driving out of state vehicle wouldn't excelerate going up hill. At stop light vehicle was hesitant. It was very dangerous speed limit was 70 mph, car wouldn't go over 40 mph. RPM was going crazy. Engine light came on. Only 93,000 miles on the car. Told CVT transmission will need to be replaced. Had car towed. This is ridiculous . Nissan needs to be sued. It could have caused an accident.
My car started jerking and vibrating I took it to a mechanic, he indicated that it’s my transmission. My Nisan is only 2012 with 100,000 miles. I already need to replace Transmission.
Transmission problems
The transmission died while driving on the highway and speed dropped to 20 miles an hour in a matter of a couple of minutes. Nissan has extended the warranty on the transmission for most years except 2011 and 2012 but it is the same transmission in the car. How can Nissan keep using a transmission that is problematic and not cover the repair for all vehicles.
Transmission went out 77,000 miles over $5000 to repair. Sad
At 60,000 miles the car had a cvt replacement. 70,000 miles later car needs second transmission replacement. Nissan is aware of their faulty cvt transmissions, but refuses to comply. Car is immaculate aside from cvt failure, not accidents. Used as station car. Car stalled in intersection. Luckily I was able to get to side of road. Very traumatizing
When driving on the highway the vehicle will desegregate. Check engine light goes on and off and received 5 different codes for the transmission. Tire ?? system comes on and off. The engine overheats a lot especially on hot climates. I drove from New York to North Carolina and had to stop 5 times on the side of the road so the car could cool down.
While my 2 daughters(22,17) were driving at highway speed from N.E to Co. the vehicle without warning decelerated and dropped to 35 mph,In a panic she pulled off to the side of the highway and called my wife who googled nissan rogue issues and found that the transmission would overheat and then decelerate to protect its components from further damage without any prior warnings.If you wait awhile and were lucky that the tranny had not failed completely in about a half an hour the vehicle would reset and you would be able to drive it again.My daughters made it home and i started to research the commonly known issue with the C.V.T transmission! 1 week later my wife informed me she has had 4-5 instances where the car will not accelerate and high engine R.P.M.s while being in stop and go traffic or from being stopped at a red light or stop sign.I called Nissan consumer affairs dept.and was told there is nothing they were able to assist with because this car had no recalls and 122,164 miles on it.On Monday 5/31/2021 the car would start but the transmission would not engage,the R.P.M.s would not go above 1000.I contacted Nissan and they told me to bring it to a Nissan dealer for diagnostics.I had the vehicle towed($95.)to Valley Nissan longmont,C0(303-586-4311)Saied told me "the tranny had failed,and there were a few gaskets that needed replaced.$147.for diagnostics and the estimate to repair is $4281.I called Nissan C.C 1(888-388-0318)to report the findings and was again told"I am sorry but there is NOTHING we can help you with.I asked Valley Nissan if they would be able to help out and they offered to help by reducing labor and materials for the replacement and repairs to $3859.54.I cannot at this point afford to make the needed repairs,I am not working currently. TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, CODE P1778 . ENGINE LIGHT ON SHOPS SAY NEED NEW GRAND, 4000 TO 8000 TO REPAIR, CALLED NISSAN DEALER MANSFIELD , OHIO TWICE HAVE NOT RETURNED CALL
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while in reverse(R) an abnormal dragging sound was coming from the vehicle while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on three separate occasions however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. On the fourth occasion, the contact was advised by her husband to have the dealer check the brake rotors and calipers. The dealer then discovered that the parts were defective, and the parts were replaced; however, after the repair was performed the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGH WAY AND MY TRANSMISSION STARTING ACTING UP AND I HAD TO KEEP PULLING OVER. I'M ALSO EXPERIENCING WEIRD NOISES WITH MY BEAR AND HUB AND IT'S BEEN CHANGED.
The contact owned a 2012 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 35-75 MPH, the transmission failed to shift gear as needed. In addition, the RPMs decreased. The contact also stated that the vehicle accelerated independently. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the vehicle was sold to a junk yard. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. The VIN was not available. The contact would like Nissan to get him another car.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GAINESVILLE NISSAN (3915 NORTH MAIN STREET, GAINESVILLE, FL 32609, (352) 505-8760) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 122,586.
The vehicle will not accelerate, seems to be a problem with the transmission
AT APPROXIMATELY 53,500 MILES, WHILE ON A LONG TRIP, THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A 'WHEEZING' NOISE AND EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER. IT CONTINUES TO DEMONSTRATE THE SAME BEHAVIOR WHENEVER THE ENGINE WARMS UP. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT I TOOK IT TO SAID THAT THE LIKELY TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WAS COMMON IN NISSAN ROGUES, MURANOS AND VERSAS. I HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT BY TWO OTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO AGREED IT WAS A DETERIORATION IN THE WORKINGS OF THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM IN MULTIPLE MODELS AND MODEL YEARS.
I HAVE A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE TWO WEEKS AFTER BUYING THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ,IT WAS SHOWING AIR MASS FLOW SENSOR ON A CODE READER AND WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM TODAY 8 YEARS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON, SOMETIMES IT JUST SHUTS OFF FOR A COUPLE DAYS ON ITS OWN THEN IT COMES RIGHT UP,NOE SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING THE CAR LOOSES SPEED AND IT STARTS TO SHAKE BACK AND FORTH AND THE TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON, THIS IS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN,I HAVE TO SAFELY PARK THE CAR SHUT IT OFF WAIT ABOUT 2 MINUTES AND START THE CAR AGAIN FOR THE TRACTION LIGHT TO COME OFF AND DRIVE NORMAL AGAIN,
AFTER AN 1.5 HOURS ON AN INTERSTATE (NON-STOP DRIVING) THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO DECELERATE SPEED. WITH NO LIGHT INDICATOR OR EXPLANATION. THE ACCELERATOR GAUGE IS GOING UP AND DOWN REALLY QUICKLY, LIKE THE CAR IS OUT OF SYNC WITH THE SPEED. NO INDICATOR LIGHT OR ANYTHING TURNS ON. I WILL BE GOING AT A SPEED OF 75 OR 80 AND WITHOUT WARNING, IT DECREASES IN SPEED. I CAN PUT THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND IT STILL CONTINUES TO SLOW DOWN. THERE IS NO OVERHEATING FUMES OR SMELL AT ALL. I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND WAIT UNTIL THE ENGINE COOLS DOWN BEFORE RETURNING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME IN 2017 (PROBABLY 70,000 MILES) WHEN I TOOK A ROAD TRIP AND I THOUGH IT WAS A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE. UNFORTUNATELY, IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AFTERWARDS, BUT ALWAYS AFTER I'VE BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO BE SERVICED TWICE, THE WATER PUMPS WERE REPLACED, BUT STILL I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT HAPPENED SEPTEMBER 2020. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS ISSUE UNTIL I LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW OTHERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE EXACT SAME THING. I JUST TRY NOT TO TAKE LONG ROAD TRIPS. DAY TO DAY DRIVING IS NOT AN ISSUES.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR CAR WILL SUDDENLY NOT ACCELERATE AND WILL CONTINUALLY SLOW PAST UNSAFE DRIVING SPEEDS. CAR WILL ONLY DRIVE AT IDLE AND NEEDS TO BE TURNED OFF AND RESTED FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES BEFORE IT WILL ACCELERATE AGAIN. DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATES CVT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. OTHER MODEL YEARS HAVE HAD WARRANTIES EXTENDED TO 120,000 MILES FOR SIMILAR CVT ISSUES.
I CAN'T DRIVE OVER 35MILES PER HOUR.
FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND DASH BOARD LOCATED NEAR PASSENGER SEAT. 2012 NISSAN ROUGE WAS INSPECTED BY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TECHNICIAN AND DETERMINED THE SEAT SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND MUST BE REPLACED. THE DIAGNOSIS COST $130. REPAIR COST IN WRITING TOTALS $2,400 TO REPLACE SEAR CUSHION. THIS SEEMS EXCESSIVE, AS IT IS A PASSENGER SAFETY ISSUE, IS IT COVERED BY RECALL? THIS VEHICLE IS A 2012 MODEL PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER 2011.
ON 7/28 AT APPROXIMATELY 8:45AM, AFTER PICKING MY HUSBAND UP AFTER 6 MONTHS BEING DEPLOYED RESPONDING TO THIS PANDEMIC, WITHOUT WARNING AND/OR NO INDICATION LIGHTS, I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION ON MY 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING ON THE NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE. AS CARS AND TRACTOR-TRAILERS PASSING BY AT SPEED LIMITS, I HAD TO SLOWLY DRIFT TO GET TO SHOULDER. I HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVING ABOUT AN HOUR. I HAD TO TRY TO NAVIGATE SAFETY ACROSS LANES TO THE SHOULDER EVEN WITH PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL DOWN TO THE FLOOR, THE CAR HAD ONLY LESS THAN 5 MILES ACCELERATION. ONCE ON THE SHOULDER, I CUT THE CAR OFF. AFTER ABOUT 40 MINS, I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN TO THE NEAREST EXIT WHICH THANKFULLY WAS LESS THAN A .25 AWAY BEFORE THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT INTO GAS STATION. UPON GETTING THE CAR TOWED TO NEAREST NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT THE CVT/TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN A CONCERN FOR ROGUES AS WELL AS OTHER NISAAN CARS AND THAT THEIR DEALERSHIP HAS HAD TO SERVICE THEM. OF COURSE HE WOULD NEED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND SURE ENOUGH DIAGNOSES CAME BACK AS CVT/TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THIS IS HORRIBLE AND A CONSUMER SAFETY CONCERN ISSUE. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS SITUATION. NISSAN NEEDS A RECALL ON THEIR VEHICLES REGARDLESS OF COST- THEY NEED TO BE SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE TO THEIR CONSUMERS. MY SON ALSO HAS A NISSAN ALTIMA AND I AM TERRIFIED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THIS HAPPENING TO HIM. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY WARNING AND OR WARNING LIGHTS TO SUCH.
VEHICLE STARTS TO STALL WHILE DRIVING . AFTER A STOPPING AT LIGHT IT WAS SLOW TO ACCELERATE.
MY CAR WILL LOSE ACCELERATION DURING A DRIVE LASTING MORE THAN ABOUT 90MIN AT GREATER THAN ABOUT 65MI/HR, SOONER IF IT'S HOTTER OUTSIDE. IT FIRST HAPPENED TO ME TRAVELING FROM TENNESSE TO FLORIDA THEN BACK. IT SLOWLY STARTED TO DECELERATE AND THE RPMS CLIMB IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL. I HAD TO PULL OVER A FEW TIMES TO LET THE CAR COOL DOWN IN ORDER TO CONTINUE. WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN 8HR DRIVE TURNED INTO A 10HR DRIVE. THAT WAS IN JUNE. NOT WE'RE IN JULY WHERE TEMPS HAVE BEEN 95⁰-100⁰ THE LAST FEW DAYS AND I'M PULLED OVER AGAIN WHILE TRAVELING, THIS TIME I ONLY MADE IT ABOUT 1HR. I'M HOPING NO DAMAGE HAS OCCURRED AND I CAN GET MOVING SOON. MY 4HR ROUND TRIP WILL BE MUCH LONGER TODAY. I WISH I'D KNOWN THIS ABOUT THE CVT BEFORE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE.
CLOCK SPRING ISSUES, AS FAR AS I KNOW A CLOCK SPRING SHOULD LAST AS LONG AS THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE, UNLESS THERE IS AN ACCIDENT OR SOMETHING UNAVOIDABLE. DUE TO THIS ISSUE MY HORN STOPPED WORKING; THIS HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION. I HOPE NISSAN TAKES RESPONSIBILITY AND REPLACES MY CLOCK SPRING AT NO CHARGE. ALSO, IN LESS THAN A MONTH TWO FRONT SIGNAL BULBS HAD TO BE REPLACED (LEFT AND RIGHT.)

THE LOCAL DEALER MIKE GRIFFIN NISSAN LOCATED AT 1780 E BROAD AVE, ROCKINGHAM, NC 28379, AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
SUN VISORS NO LONGER STAY IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION AT ANY TIME. THEY PRODUCE A HAZARD BY CONSTANTLY BLOCKING YOUR VIEW OF THE HIGHWAY. VEHICLE HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
MY ROGUE HAS A HARD TIME ACCELERATING, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S HOT OUT AND I HAVE THE AC ON. RECENTLY, WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL, I HAVE TO RELY ON THE MOMENTUM OF THE STOP AND GO TO CARRY ME. EVENTUALLY IT DOES ACCELERATE, BUT I HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE AC IS OFF. IT STARTED HAPPENING WHEN THE WEATHER TURNED WARMER. I GET REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND MAKE SURE MY FLUID ARE FLUSHED AND WITHIN A GOOD RANGE.
BESIDES THE TRANSMISSION BEING REPLACED TO IT BEING FAULTY, NOW THE A/C IS NOT WORKING !!! I HAVE NEVER USED IT SINCE OBTAINING THIS VEHICLE ! DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK MAKES A BUZZING SOUND WHEN LOCKING OR UNLOCKING DOOR USING KEY OR KEY FOB. DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WHEN USING KEY FOB. BAD ACTUATOR.
THE REAR PASSENGER AIRBAG JUST POT-UP AND THE LIGHT NEVER GO OFF
THE NISSAN ROGUE HAS A CVT TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS KNOWN TO FAIL. AND HAS TO REPLACES AND NOT REPAIRED OR REBUILT.
2012 NISSAN ROGUE HAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000 MILES AND TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY BROKEN. CONFIRMED THE NEED FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION BY AAMCO.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS FLASHING SO WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG STAYS OFF EVEN WITH A PERSON IN THE SEAT. THEY STATED IT IS THE OCCUPANCY SENSOR AND WANTED OVER $2,000 TO FIX IT. I HAD THE NISSAN EXTEND WARRANTY WHICH THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY SAID MY 2012 ROGUE WAS NOT PART OF ANY OF THE YEARS FOR THE OCCUPANCY SENSOR THAT WERE RECALLED. IF THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SAME REASON, WHY WOULD THIS NOT BE COVERED? WHY IF THE SENSOR FAILS IT WOULD DEFAULT TO KEEP AIRBAGS FROM WORKING?. NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME IT WAS PASS THE 3 YEARS /36000 SO THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR IT.
I REPORTED A FIRE COMPLAINT BACK IN THE SUMMER TO YOU ON THIS VEHICLE. NOW MY ACCELERATOR JUST SUDDENLY QUITS WORKING. I REPORTED THIS TO DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE NISSAN AROUND JUNE 2019. THEY SAID NO CODE CAME UP. IT HAS SINCE BEEN HAPPENING MORE AND MORE. TWICE WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GET ON THE INTERSTATE. TWO WEEKS AGO IT HAPPENED FIVE TIMES IN A ROW AND WOULDN'T GO OVER 30 MPH. I HAVE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AND IT MAKES THE SAFETY ISSUE EVEN WORSE. I CAN'T WALK VERY FAR IF I GET STRANDED. IF I DON'T GET REAR ENDED ON THE INTERSTATE BEFORE THAT HAPPENS. NISSAN IS VERY AWARE OF THIS. EVEN ROGUES WITH 8,000 MILES ARE DOING THIS. IT ISN'T A MATTER OF JUST BEING STRANDED SOMEWHERE. VEHICLE WAS MOVING EVERY TIME ON INTERSTATE AND CITY STREETS. THE VEHICLE WON'T SHOW A CODE TO THE DEALER SO THEY SAY I HAVE TO TAKE A VIDEO WITH MY FOOT PUSHING DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR AND SHOWING THE SPEED THAT I AM GOING. AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR A FEW MONTHS IN JAN 2018 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALER SAID THE CAR NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. ON DEC 6TH, 2018 I PAID $3667.16 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY DUE TO THE MILES I DRIVE. NOW IN NOV OF 2019. WHEN AT TRAFFIC I STEP ON THE GAS AND THE CAR WILL NOT GO. ITS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I GET REAR-ENDED AT A LIGHT. ASF 11/29/19 THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES AND COUNTING. I SHUT THE CAR OFF THE RESTART AND THE CARGOES THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD AND IS GIVING ME A PROBLEM.
I HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED IN AUGUST. I ORIGINALLY HAD TROUBLES IN MAY (CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND I HAD MY FOOT PEDAL ON THE FLOOR TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON THE INTERSTATE (40 MPH BEING PASSED BY SEMIS WITHOUT ANYWHERE SAFE TO PULLOVER) AND BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. IN AUGUST I HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME MY TRANSMISSION WAS TOAST AND I NEEDED ANOTHER ONE. THEY TOLD ME THAT IF I DID NOT INSTALL THE COOLING KIT, IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO AAMCO FOR A SECOND OPINION. HE AGREED THAT I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND A COOLING KIT ADDED AS THIS IS COMMON WITH THE NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AND THIS CAR WAS NOT SAFE ON THE ROAD. NISSAN CLEARLY KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR TRANSMISSIONS IN THIS MODEL AND ADMIT TO NEEDING AN ADD-ON COOLING KIT TO ADDRESS. IT WAS NEGLIGENT OF THE DEALERSHIP TO LET ME DRIVE OFF OF THE LOT IN MAY. IT IS NOW DECEMBER AND I AM HAVING TROUBLES WITH MY CAR AGAIN. WHEN I FIRST TURN MY CAR ON, IT MAKES A WHINING NOISE WITH PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. MY MECHANIC BELIEVES THIS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND I WILL BE BRINGING MY CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO SEE. I ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON IN AUGUST AND MY CAR MAKING NOISES WITH CHANGING GEARS. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS DUE TO THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. BUT, I AM STILL HAVING TROUBLES AND NOW I AM TOLD IT IS THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. I AM NOT CONVINCED THAT ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT ALL RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND ARE ALLOWING PEOPLE TO DRIVE WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE.

CVT; BOUGHT USED; HAD A TRANSMISSION WHICH HAD OVERHEATED IN EXCESS OF 50 TIMES PER THE DEALER. TRANSMISSION FLUID EXCHANGE PERFORMED AFTER VEHICLE PURCHASE AND BURNED UP WITHIN TWO WEEKS. CVT WAS DIAGNOSED AND WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF 5698 DOLLARS. NISSAN FAILED TO PLACE AN OIL COOLER ON THE 2012 NISSAN TRANSMISSIONS WHICH HAS LEAD TO THESE TRANSMISSIONS EXPERIENCING FAILURE DUE TO OVERHEATING. I WAS ON A 4 LANE THRUWAY AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO PULL TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD TO THE SHOULDER BECAUSE ALL OF THE CARS WERE SPEEDING AROUND ME. QUITE FRANKLY, IT WAS A TERRIFYING SITUATION TO BE IN AS SEMI TRUCKS AND OTHER CARS GOING 70 - 80+ MPH WERE SPEEDING UP BEHIND YOU AS YOUR VEHICLE LOST POWER. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND LET THE CAR REST FOR ABOUT 1/2 HOUR THEN STARTED TO DRIVE AGAIN. I DROVE THE NEXT 30 MILES AT APPX 35-40 MPH WITH MY 4 WAY FLASHERS ON. THE CAR DID EVENTUALLY GET BACK TO SPEED AND SEEM TO DRIVE NORMAL. MILEAGE WAS APPX 125,000- 130,000. THIS HAPPENED A SECOND TIME IN MARCH 2019. I DROVE APPX 65 MILES ON COUNTRY ROADS IN A RURAL AREA TO PICK UP MY ELDERLY MOTHER TO TAKE HER TO THE HOSPITAL. THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER. THE RPM'S WERE GOING CRAZY, THE CAR LOST POWER. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES, THE CAR EVENTUALLY GOT BACK TO SPEED AGAIN. I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE HER TO THE HOSPITAL IN MY CAR AND FORTUNATELY A NEIGHBOR LET ME USE THEIR CAR TO TRANSPORT MY MOM TO THE HOSPITAL. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR THE 75 MILES BACK HOME AND IT DROVE OKAY BUT I WAS VERY WORRIED I WOULD NOT MAKE IT HOME. MILEAGE WAS APPX 145,000. THIS HAPPENED A 3RD TIME AUGUST OF 2019 WHILE TRAVELING WB ON THE NYS I-90 THRUWAY. AGAIN, I WAS IN THE PASSING LANE TRAVELING ABOUT 70 MPH WHEN THE RPM'S STARTED GOING CRAZY AND THE CAR LOST POWER. THIS TIME A SEMI TRUCK WAS BEHIND ME AND QUICKLY CLOSING IN ON MY CAR. AGAIN, IT WAS TOUGH TO GET TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD TO GET OUT OF FAST MOVING TRAFFIC. MILEAGE APPX 160,000.
