I WAS TRAVELING 70 MPH ON A HIGHWAY, USING CRUISE, WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED RACING AND THE RPM SURGED. I DISENGAGED THE CRUISE AND THE RPM'S IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO NORMAL. HOWEVER, AS SOON AS I STEPPED ON THE GAS, THE RPM'S AGAIN SURGED. AFTER THIS HAPPENED THREE OR FOUR TIMES, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCEED 60 MPH. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY WITHIN A SHORT DISTANCE. THERE WAS A TRAFFIC LIGHT AT THE END OF THE EXIT, WHICH WAS RED AND I STOPPED. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, MY CAR WOULD NOT INITIALLY ACCELERATE OR MOVE. AFTER A SHORT TIME, THE CAR DID THEN START ACCELERATING AND I WAS ABLE TO ONCE AGAIN DRIVE. I THEN STOPPED AT THE NEAREST PARKING LOT. MY TRAVELING COMPANION PROCEEDED TO FIND AN AUTO SHOP THAT WAS OPEN, AS IT WAS ABOUT 7:00 AT NIGHT. THEY RAN A SCAN AND DETERMINED THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH MY TRANSMISSION. I WAS OVER 50 MILES AWAY FROM HOME, ON MY WAY TO A VACATION RESERVATION. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAD TO RETURN HOME. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR ON BACK ROADS, TRAVELING ABOUT 35-40 MPH. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE HAD A TRANSMISSION SHOP AND THE NISSAN DEALER ALSO CONFIRM THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED REPLACED. THE CAR HAD A LITTLE OVER 70,000 MILES. I FIND THIS ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A 2012 WITH THAT NUMBER OF MILES. SUBSEQUENT RESEARCH HAS SHOW THAT NISSAN HAS A HISTORY OF PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. I ALSO FOUND MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ON AN ARRAY OF WEBSITES ABOUT MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAVING TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT A VARIETY OF MILES. I ALSO FOUND REPORTS OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILING WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED. I DID CONTACT NISSAN'S REGIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS. AFTER JUMPING THROUGH THEIR HOOPS, I WAS DECLINED ANY "GOOD WILL ASSISTANCE". THIS WAS DUE TO THE CAR'S MILEAGE BEING OVER WARRANTY AND NO PREVIOUSLY DOCUMENTED ISSUES WITH MY PERSONAL VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION.
CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE. AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY HIS CAR WILL JUST SLOW DOWN TO A CRAWL CAUSING A DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION. THE CAR WILL BARELY MOVE AND MANY OTHER VEHICLES HAVE COME VERY CLOSE TO HITTING ME DUE TO THE SLOW SPEED THAT THE CAR WILL GO. COMPLAINED TO NISSAN BUT SINCE CAR IS 11 MONTHS PAST WARRANTY WAS TOLD THEY WILL NOT HELP EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 25 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THE TRANSMISSION SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. SERRA NISSAN IN BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
BOUGHT THE CAR USED WITH 50,000 MILES CVT IS DEFECTIVE SO I HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE POWER TRAIN I HAD IT REPLACED.. I M ABOUT TO HAVE AN ANOTHER CATASTROPHIC FAILURE YOU PAID ALL THAT AND YOU ARE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. .WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING YOU COULD HEAR THE TRANSMISSION MAKING THUNDERING NOISE AND WHEN SHUT OFF THE CAR THE TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY . DECELERATION OF VEHICLE RESULTING IN HAVING TO PULL OVER FOR AN HOUR TO LET SOMETHING RESET. AFTER AN HOUR CAN DRIVE FOR AN HOUR BEFORE PULLING OVER AGAIN. THIS IS A RE-PROBLEM. VEHICLE DECELERATION CAN RESULT IN SPEEDS AS LOW AS 30 MPH ON HWY.
VEHICLE IN THE SHOP FOR A MAJOR OIL LEAK, 2 KEY FOBS DON'T WORK, RECALL, LEAKING SUNROOF, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHING. QUOTED 3500 TO REPLACE SEAT/MODULE, 350. FOR OIL ISSUE, 1400. SUNROOF. I INHERITED THIS CAR IN 2013 WHEN MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY AND IT ONLY HAS 20000 MILES ON IT. I COULD BUY ANOTHER NEWER USED CAR AT THIS RATE!! THIS IS REDICULOUS FOR A VEHICLE WITH SO LOW MILES TO HAVE THIS MANY ISSUES. AT THIS RATE I WILL NEVER PURCHASE OR RECOMMEND NISSAN AGAIN. PLEASE ADVISE. THANKS, DEB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN TO 40 MPH. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE SPEED DECREASED TO 30 MPH. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DROVE HOME. THE FAILURE LATER RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT CALLED WIN KELLY CHEVROLET CLARKSVILLE AT (443) 574-5704 (LOCATED AT 12421 AUTO DR, CLARKSVILLE, MD 21029). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COWLES NISSAN (14777 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, WOODBRIDGE, VA 22191, (703) 497-3000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK, AND A BODY VALVE AND COOLANT FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,449.
I WAS DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, TRAVELING THE SPEED LIMIT (65 MPH) WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN DECELERATING. THE VEHICLE'S SPEED DECREASED FROM 65 MPH TO 0 MPH IN LESS THAN TWO MINUTES. I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AND THE RPM INDICATOR ADVANCED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE SPEED DECREASED. WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR PREVIOUS PROBLEM, THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DIED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE DURING RUSH HOUR. I WAS IN THE CENTER DRIVING LANE AND WAS TRAVELING WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE TRAFFIC ONTO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE, WHERE I WAS STRANDED FOR 2.5 HOURS. SINCE MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN DISABLED, I HAVE CONDUCTED RESEARCH ON OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS THAT HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES WITH NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS. MOREOVER, NISSAN HAS HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION FOR OVER A DECADE. DESPITE GOVERNMENTAL OVERSIGHT AND THE COMPANY HAVING TO CORRECT DEFECTS, NISSAN CONTINUES TO MANUFACTURE THESE DANGEROUS VEHICLES. LIFE AND SAFETY SHOULD BE A PRIORITY FOR INNOCENT BUYERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. MY LOCAL NISSAN LEADERSHIP HAS DIAGNOSED AND CONFIRMED MY VEHICLE'S PROBLEM AND CONCLUDED THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION MUST BE REPLACED. ASIDE FROM HAVING A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION, MY VEHICLE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
MY CAR WILL STOP ACCELERATING AS I'M GOING UP A HULL ON A HIGH WAY OR WHEN I STOP IT WON'T ACCELERATE BACK BACK UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON.
SPEED LIMIT WAS 80 MILES TRAVEL DOWN THE HIGH WAY AND THE CAR BEGIN TO SO DOWN TO 5 MILES. SO I DRIFTED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE A TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK WAS ABOUT 6 CAR LINKS BEHIND ME. IF THIS CAR WOULD HAVE COMPLETE STOP THE TRUCK WOULD HAVE HIT THE CAR. I WAS SCARED BECAUSE I NEVER HAD A VEHICLE THAT DONE THIS BEFORE. I SIT ALONG SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 20 MIN CALLED MY HUSBAND BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. AFTER 20 MINS I RESTARTED THE CAR PUT IT IN GEAR AND DRIVE AT 60 MILES UNTIL I GOT HOME WHICH WAS 94 MILES. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME THE CAR WAS MAKING THIS STRANGE NOISE. IT SOUND AS IF THE ENGINE WAS ABOUT TO FALL OUT OF THE CAR.
GOT IN MY CAR TODAY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WENT TO CHECK EATS WRONG AND HE TOLD ME MY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS SENDING A CODE. I REMEMBER GETTING A RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL FOR THIS, BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST.
FAILING CVT (CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION) MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT AN APPROX. 65 MPH, HEADED BACK TO COLLEGE, WHEN HER 2012 ROGUE STOPPED ACCELERATING WHILE PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDDLE. THE CAR WOULD NOT REACT TO STEPPING ON THE GAS. IT WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, SO SHE PULLED TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OFF AGAIN, IT JUST REVVED AS THOUGH IN NEUTRAL. SHE TURNED THE CAR OFF. AFTER TURNING THE CAR BACK ON, SHE WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY. REVVING SOUND CONTINUED THROUGHOUT ACCELERATION. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET TO HER DESTINATION. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO LITHIA NISSAN IN EUGENE, OR ON APRIL 3, 2018. WE LIVE 108 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP. AS OF TODAY, APRIL 18, 2018, THE CAR IS STILL THERE! THE CVT PROBLEM WAS RECREATED AT NISSAN AND WE WERE TOLD A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS REQUIRED AT A COST OF $3000. THE WARRANTY ENDED AT 60K AND THE CAR HAS JUST UNDER 65K. I FILED A CASE WITH NISSAN USA. FOR SOME REASON THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT CAPTURE THE PROOF OF FAILURE INFORMATION. NISSAN USA THEN REQUIRED THE DEALERSHIP TO PROVIDE A "VIDEO" OF THE PROBLEM OCCURRING. BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO CAPTURE THE CVT ISSUE ON VIDEO, NISSAN USA CLOSED THE CASE. I ASKED THEM NOT TO CLOSE THE CASE UNTIL THERE WAS A RESOLUTION. THEY TOLD ME WITHOUT THE VIDEO FOR REVIEW, THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. THEY TOLD ME TO PAY THE $3000 FOR THE REPLACEMENT, OR CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN, AND GET IT INTO A DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY SO THEY DOCUMENT THE PROBLEM WHILE IT'S HAPPENING! I TOLD THEM IT'S UNACCEPTABLE TO REQUIRE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER TO DRIVE A CAR WE KNOW IS GOING TO FAIL, BUT CAN'T DETERMINE WHEN OR WHERE. THAT'S PUTTING HER IN DANGER. RESEARCH SHOWS THE CVT FAILURE IS A COMMON PROBLEM. TRANSMISSIONS SHOULDN'T GO OUT AT 65K! THIS IS OUR FIRST NISSAN, AND WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE. RECALL!
WHILE DRIVING 80 MILES PER HOUR ON A WYOMING INTERSTATE, MY 2012 NISSAN ROGUE SHUT OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE EVEN WHILE PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE CAR WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE TO 65 MPH AND WOULD NOT RESET TO NORMAL SPEEDS OR ACCELERATION PATTERNS UNTIL I PULLED OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND LET IT COOL DOWN FOR 15-30 MINUTES. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS IN FORT COLLINS, COLORADO AND BILLINGS, MONTANA SAID THIS ISSUE AROSE IN SEVERAL NISSAN ROGUES OF DIFFERENT YEARS. NISSAN FIXED 2010 AND EARLIER MODELS ON THEIR DIME, BUT HAVE NOT PAID FOR REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION COOLERS WITH LARGER COOLERS FOR THE 2011 OR LATER MODELS. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION COOLERS IN 2012 NISSAN ROGUES UP TO THIS POINT.
RPMS WILL KEEP RISING WHILE THE SPEED OF VEHICLE AND SPEEDOMETER DROPS AND STALLS
I HAVE A CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. MY CAR SHOULD NOT NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. AAMCO IS TELLING ME I WILL NEED ONE SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT, THEY RAN CODES AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG BUT I NEEDED A OVER 1200.00 EXTERNAL COOING SYSTEM AND IT IS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEN I GET A CALL AND ITS NOT. I TOOK IT TO THERE OTHER DEALERSHIP AND THE SALESPERSON AND MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS A PROBLEM...IT STARTED OUT LOOSING POWER AND DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THATS KINDA SCARY. I KNOW THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS OUT THERE ABOUT THIS AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING OVER 30 MPH, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER (VALDOSTA NISSAN CADILLAC, 3685 INNER PERIMETER RD, VALDOSTA, GA 31602, (229) 242-7325) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE MORE THAN TWICE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER LATER INDICATED THAT THE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE. THE SENSOR WAS STATED TO HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALER'S MECHANIC, BUT THE TPMS INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD FOLLOW-UP WITHIN 48 HOURS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *TT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT. ALL PRO NISSAN OF MACOMB (22100 HALL ROAD, CHARTER TWP OF CLINTON, MI) COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT WOULD NOT ASSIST SINCE THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000. *TT *TR
VEHICLE WAS NOT RUNNING AND PARKED IN OUR GARAGE IN LANCASTER, MA PHONE # [XXX]. EARLY MORNING 1/15/18 VEHICLE'S KICK PANEL MALFUNCTIONED STARTING A FIRE WHICH DESTROYED PART OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, MELTED AND /OR BURNED PARTS OF THE DASHBOARD AND DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AREA. THE INTERIOR AND CONTENTS OF VEHICLE WAS HEAVILY DAMAGED/DESTROYED. RESPONDING LANCASTER FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL STATED THAT FIRE STAYED CONFINED TO VEHICLE INTERIOR DUE TO WINDOWS BEING CLOSED AND THE FIRE BURNING OUT WHEN OXYGEN WAS CONSUMED. ALL CONTENTS OF GARAGE WERE HEAVILY SMOKE DAMAGED. RESEARCH REVEALED THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL IN 2015 WHICH WAS COMPLETED ON OUR END WITH THE DEALER REPLACING A HARNESS. TAKATA RECALL - WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH... CAR LOST PROPULSION ..ENGINE IDLED BUT WOULD NOT CATCH GEAR... NO ENGINE LIGHT NOTHING... I WAS IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.... THE FUEL GAUGE IS READING INCORRECTLY. WHEN IT IS FULL IT WILL SAY HALF A TANK. I HAVE TRIED TO FILL UP AT MULTIPLE DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS TO ENSURE THAT TANK WAS FULL. IT JUST READS INCORRECTLY ALWAYS. WITH JUST A LITTLE OVER A HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES.
I AM GOING TO BE ON MY THIRD COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT FOR THIS VEHICLE WITH A LITTLE OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT. THE DEFROST AND THE A/C ARE AFFECTED. IT IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS IN THE WINTER IN NEW ENGLAND WHEN MY DEFROST IS SUB-PAR AND IMPEDES VISIBILITY. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS ISSUE IN THIS VEHICLE AND IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE ON THE BURDEN OF THE CONSUMER TO CONTINUALLY PAY FOR THIS!

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO NISSAN OF ELK GROVE (8599 LAGUNA GROVE DR, ELK GROVE, CA 95757) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,200.
TRANSMISSION IS OVERHEATED AFTER ABOUT 2 HR DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. ITS VERRY TOUGH TO CLIMB TO THE HILL, AND YOU CAN DRIVE ONLY 40 MPH. ITS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN YOUR CAR SUDDENLY STOP DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS. ITS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON M THE WEB, PEOPLE WRITE A LOT ABOUT THUS ISSUE, BUT THERE IS STILL NO RECALL. IT NEEDS A BETTER COOLER SYSTEM.
MY VEHICLE, A 2012 NISSAN ROUGE CAUGHT ON FIRE IN MY DRIVEWAY WHILE MYSELF AND THE OTHER MEMBERS OF OUR HOME WERE SLEEPING. WHEN I WOKE UP TO A LOUD POPPING NOISE AND RAN TO MY BEDROOM WINDOW FACING THE DRIVEWAY WHERE ALL OF THE VEHICLES WERE PARKED I NOTICED MY VEHICLE, THE NISSAN ROGUE BURNING INTENSELY. THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE IN THE FRONT WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. 911 WAS DIALED IMMEDIATELY AFTER WAKING AND NOTICING AN OBVIOUS FIRE COMING FROM THE 2012 NISSAN ROGUE, AT APPROX. 11:00 PM. BY THE TIME THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED, 3 OTHER VEHICLES IN OUR DRIVEWAY, ALONG WITH THE 2012 NISSAN ROGUE, WERE RUINED. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS SALVAGEABLE. THE FIRE WAS SO INTENSE THAT IT MELTED ALL OF THE SIDING ON THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE FACING THE DRIVEWAY WHERE THE FIRE OCCURRED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, INCLUDING THE FIRE CHIEF AND FIRE MARSHALL CONDUCTED AN INVESTIGATION AND EXPLAINED TO ME, AS WELL AS THE OWNERS OF THE OTHER VEHICLES, THAT THEY BELIEVE THE FIRE WAS ELECTRICAL AND OBVIOUSLY STARTED WITH THE 2012 NISSAN ROGUE AND ULTIMATELY SPREAD TO THE OTHER VEHICLES BEFORE THE FIRE COULD BE COMPLETELY EXTINGUISHED.
WHEN MY CAR IS RUNNING BETWEEN 40 TO 60 MILES ON A CITY STREET OR HILLS IS A NOISE LIKE AT ( RATTLES) UNDER THE CAR I WENT TO THE DEALER A LOT TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM
AT 49,935 MILES, THE TRANSFER CASE AND DRIVE SHAFT (WHILE DRIVING) LEAKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1,514 + CAR RENTAL FOR 2 DAYS. THE ENGINE AND POWER TRAIN ARE COVERED BY NISSAN'S WARRANTEE ONLY UNTIL 5 YEAR,50,000 MILES. AS I WOULD BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A NISSAN DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING PROBLEM, AND THAT OTHER 2012 NISSAN ROGUE ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS, I WOULD VERY MUCH APPRECIATE IF THE NHTSA WOULD INVESTIGATE THIS TO DETERMINE IF A RECALL IS WARRANTED. I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION OF CAR TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY. CAR FEELS AND SOUNDS LIKE IT IS STUCK IN ONE GEAR. I COULDN'T DRIVE FASTER THAN 75 MPH. CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. SPEED DROPPED FROM 75 TO 65, FROM 65 TO 60, FROM 60 TO 55, FROM 55 TO 49, FROM 49 TO 45, FROM 45 TO 30, FROM 30 TO 10 MPH. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WITHIN 2 MILES OF THE NEAREST EXIT. I TRIED USING CRUISE CONTROL TO MAINTAIN SPEED AT 65 MPH, BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. CAR TOWED BY AAA ON 9/10/17.
2012 NISSAN ROGUE LOST ACCELERATION WHILE ON A TRIP. ROGUE WOULD NOT GO MORE THEN 30-40 MPH IN A 80 MPH SPEED ZONE ON HIGHWAY. ALMOST GOT HIT A COUPLE TIMES TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC AND HAVING TO PULL OVER TO GIVE THE CAR A BREAK. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS WITH BEING 7 MONTHS PREGNANT, DRIVING IN A NO SERVICE AREA. COULDN'T CALL FOR HELP. IT WAS HOT OUT TO HAVE TO STOP WITH MY SELF AND THREE DOGS IN THE CAR.
MANY TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, USUALLY GOING UPHILL, I HAVE TROUBLES WITH THE VEHICLE'S ACCELERATION. THE CAR STARTS TO MAKE A FUNNY SOUND, AS IF IT'S TRYING TO ACCELERATE, BUT IS UNABLE TO. I'VE HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE THE CAR WILL SLOW DOWN AND WILL NOT GO PAST LIKE 40 MILES PER HOUR, EVEN IF I'M STEPPING ON THE GAS. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE I'M TYPICALLY NOT IN THE SLOW LANE, SO I START TO IMPEDE TRAFFIC WHEN THIS HAPPENS, AND CARS GET REALLY CLOSE TO HITTING ME.
I WAS STATIONED AND MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON I CAME TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG CIRCUIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ALSO MY DRIVERS AIRBAG MODULE AND CLOCK SPRINGS NEED TO BE REPLACED. I NOT HAD ANY ACCIDENT WHERE MY AIRBAG CAME OUT SO NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY MY AIRBAG IS NOT WORKING.
THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER 154,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. CAR BUCKED A FEW TIMES, THEN STOPPED MOVING. THE FRONT AXLE IS BROKEN. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS OPENED A CASE, HAD ME PAY TO TOW THE CAR TO THEIR DEALER, PAY FOR A DIAGNOSIS, CONFIRMED THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, THEN DENIED THE CLAIM BASED ON MILEAGE WHICH I PROVIDED TO THEM UP FRONT. THE $265 TOWING AND DIAGNOSIS FEE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED ENTIRELY.
STATIONARY, 1 YEAR OLD IN REAR OF VEHICLE AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE BUTTON ON THE P/S & D/S UNLOCKED EVERY DOOR EXCEPT FOR THE D/S REAR DOOR. WE TRIED TO USE THE KEYLESS REMOTE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, THAT FAILED AS WELL. WE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN MANUALLY FROM INSIDE THE REAR AND THE LOCK WOULD NOT GIVE WAY. WE COULD NOT SAFELY REMOVE OUR CHILD FROM THE BACKSEAT. THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR IS STILL LOCKED AND WE CANNOT GET IN OR OUT OF THAT DOOR. ALL OTHER DOORS AND LOCKS FUNCTION NORMALLY AS THEY SHOULD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAPITAL NISSAN OF WILMINGTON (5501 MARKET ST, WILMINGTON, NC 28405 (877) 606-5859) WHERE THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS RESET. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK. LIGHT TURNED GREEN, CAR ROSE VERY SLOWLY TO 2000 RPM, ACCELERATED VERY SLOWLY TO 30MPH. THIS CONTINUED FOR 5 MINUTES, PULLED OVER AND PARKED FOR 1 HOUR. STARTED DRIVING AGAIN, 30 MINUTES LATER CAR STUCK AT 2400 RPM, COULDN'T ACCELERATE PAST PREVIOUS TRAVELLING SPEED. TOOK TO DEALER, NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES FOUND, OF COURSE, 140 DOLLARS LATER NO RESOLUTION. CAR HAS 70,935 MILES ON IT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CENTER AND THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE HAD A BUBBLE WITH TREAD SEPARATION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT LATER TOOK THE TIRE TO DISCOUNT TIRES (LOCATED ON 10331 BROADWAY ST, PEARLAND TX 77584) AND THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE HAD GONE OVER THE MILEAGE FOR THE WARRANTY AND WAS SUPPOSED TO REPLACE THE TIRE AT 60,000 MILES. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,389 AND THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,542.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND MY AIRBAG SENSOR STARTED FLASHING. I TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE SENSOR THAT AFFECTS ALL THE AIRBAGS IN VEHICLE. THEY COULD FIX IT FOR $1200. I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 58,222 MILES IN2013. I HAVE 72,050 MILES NOW.

CVT ON THE NISSAN ROGUE HAS THE SAME ISSUE THAT THE 2003-2010 RECALLS HAVE. JUST GOT BACK FROM A VACATION THAT WAS DELAYED 2 HOURS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND WE LOST ACCELERATION ON I75 IN FLORIDA. WE WERE ALMOST HIT BY TWO SEMI TRUCKS. THE RPMS JUST REG UP AND THE CAR LOSES POWER DECELERATION IS FAST AND DANGEROUS. THE ISSUE WITH THE CVT FROM NISSAN HAS BEEN FIXED AFTER 2010. I WANT TO GET THIS FIXED BY NISSAN ASAP AS OUR ROGUE HAS 97K MILES AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE 60K BUT THE 2012S AREN'T INCLUDED. MY LAWYER IS WORKING CLOSING ON THIS MATTER AS WELL. I STEPPED BACK FROM VEHICLE FOR MY OWN SAFETY, JACK BUCKLED, AND CAR FELL. LUCKILY I WAS NOT INJURED AND WHEEL WITH FLAT TIRE WAS STILL ON HUB SO VEHICLE WAS NOT DAMAGED. HOWEVER, WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE (CASE #26836371) THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE JACK AS THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND HAD NO PROCESS TO ESCALATE THIS SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD BE AFFECTING OTHER OWNERS. A JACK THAT FAILS IMMEDIATELY UPON FIRST USE HAS TO BE DUE TO A DESIGN, MANUFACTURING, OR METALLURGICAL FLAW. ATTACHED PHOTOS SHOW TWISTED JACK AND BENT SCREW ASSEMBLY.

AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT AN HOUR OR MORE, USUALLY ON A WARM DAY, THE CAR HAS NO POWER WHEN GOING UP HILLS. IT WILL GO FROM 70 MPH TO ABOUT 50 MPH WITH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND WILL CONTINUE TO GO SLOWER UNTIL LEVEL GROUND IS DRIVEN ON. ALSO, WHEN LEAVING THE HIGHWAY AFTER THIS HAS OCCURRED, AFTER A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL WITH ACCELERATION. THE CAR JUST SITS THERE LIKE YOU HAVEN'T EVEN TOUCHED THE GAS. WHEN IT DOES MOVE AFTER A MINUTE OR TWO, IT GOES ABOUT 1 MILE AN HOUR AND IF YOU ARE PULLING INTO AN INTERSECTION WITH OTHER CARS COMING, THAT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIRS WAS MEMORIAL DAY 2017. THE MOST RECENT TIME I TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIRS WAS SEPTEMBER 8, 2017.
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WILL START SHUDDERING AND RPM'S WILL INCREASE BY 2000-3000 RPMS EVEN IF THERE IS NO ASSISTANCE WITH ACCELERATION (FOOT IS OFF GAS PEDAL). WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CAR WILL THEN NO LONGER ACCELERATE, AND WILL START SLOWING DOWN, REGARDLESS IF YOU AT PRESSING THE GAS OR NOT. YOU BASICALLY LOSE ALL CONTROL OVER THE OPERATING SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 10 TIMES WITHIN THE PAST 3 MONTHS, ALL WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT POSTED SPEEDS, APPROX. 65 MPH FOR ANYWHERE BETWEEN 5 MIN TO AN HOUR + OF CONSTANT RATE OF SPEED.
IN THE LAST 30 DAYS I HAVE MADE THE EXACT SAME 5 HOUR ROUND TRIP DRIVE THREE TIMES. ON TWO OF THESE TRIPS, I EXPERIENCED SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION AFTER APPROXIMATELY 3-1/2 HOURS OF DRIVING (BOTH INSTANCES STARTED WITHIN 5 MILES OF THE OTHER). THOUGH BOTH OCCURRED WITHOUT ANY SIGN OF A MECHANICAL PROBLEM AND CONTINUED UNTIL CAR HAD BEEN STOPPED AND SHUT OFF FOR 30 MINUTES OR MORE, TODAY'S EVENT NEARLY CAUSED LOSS OF LIFE! WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO I-95 FROM I-295 IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC I SUDDENLY COULD NOT ONLY ACCELERATE TO GET ON 95 AND MOVE OVER 2 LANES TO CLEAR THE EXIT ONLY AIRPORT LANE BUT CONTINUED TO SLOW DOWN IN MASSIVE HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC! DURING THIS TIME THE GAS PEDAL WAS FULLY DEPRESSED WITHOUT RESULT OTHER THAN RPM CHANGE TO ALMOST 3. NO CODES WERE DETECTED EITHER TIME. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW, HAS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND REGULARLY SERVICED. IT HAS 75,214 MILES ON IT. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IN THE 3 TRIPS I MADE WAS STOPPING FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO EAT BEFORE DRIVING BACK ON TRIP #2 AND HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH ACCELERATION.
