On July 15, 23 was driving home from Dr appt n my rpm was going crazy, the engine was whining while I was driving rogue and didn't hardly move. I had it towed and mechanic said was totalled. Transmission is out. 3 mechanic said same was totalled. There needs to be recall on 2016 nissan rogue transmission!!!
On July 14th of this year, I was driving my vehicle on the highway when it abruptly accelerated without me changing my pressure on the gas pedal. The check engine light then turned on, which prompted me to have my car inspected as soon as I could. I did not have an appointment until July 20th and was unable to use my vehicle until then. On inspection, I was informed it was due to an issue with the transmission, but was also told this was a known issue with the 2016 Nissan Rogues. There was a class action lawsuit filed with these vehicles regarding their transmission as they exhibit a delay that’s typically accompanied by the engine revving while the driver depresses the gas pedal with “little to no increase in speed". According to the suit, other Nissan Rogue drivers have also experienced and reported stalling, jerking, lurching, juddering, hesitation and/or shaking while driving their vehicles, as well as premature transmission failure. The apparent CVT defect has been documented to occur without warning while a vehicle is being operated normally. This puts other drivers, as well as myself, in danger as this becomes an unreasonable safety hazard. I am aware that Nissan had accepted responsibility to repair these vehicles for this problem because of the inherent problems and widespread failure. It is also my understanding that the window to get these repairs ended on December 9th, 2022, and I purchased the vehicle 1 week later, unknowing and unwitting of these issues. I feel that Nissan is still responsible to fix their defective vehicle and I am asking that this repair be completed under the same terms as what was offered during their repair campaign. They are still responsible to make this right for the safety of the users of their product, as well as other drivers around them.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

When I driving in the freeway my car began to slow down, even when is visible cars in front me and back were present. The car slowing down for it's own , which didn't not give rear drivers an opportunity to slow down in time I had to stop completely and needless braking can cause collisions, that was very scary for my and my family.

Transmission failure caused loss of power resulting in multiple near collisions. When brought to the dealership I was completely dismissed as they were over booked and sent me away.

The airbag passenger light has been showing off for about 2 years and on 4/30/25 showed the passenger air bag on the main panel in red color. I bring it today 5/2/25 to the Nissan dealer and they said is not a recall and they didn’t fix it. I been reading that actually is a recall and something can explode and is not recommended to drive the car under this sing.
I bought the car from my mom, at 30k miles they had to have a new transmission, on my way home to Wisconsin right in the middle of the interstate the transmission went out again thank god I'm alive, this is less than 20k miles after the dealership put the new one in, now it needs another transmission. I'm scared for my life to drive it again, please do something so no one gets hurt or killed
On the highway the vehicle would Rev to 4K RPM and not shift. It felt like it was stuck in 2nd gear.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the dealer had performed a CVT transmission replacement under an unknown recall. The contact stated that after the repair, the AWD warning light was intermittently illuminated. The dealer was notified and informed the contact that the warning light was an indication of the tire tread wear and tear. Additionally, the contact stated that while her husband was driving 30 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and made an abnormally loud grinding sound. The contact stated that the vehicle felt like the rear wheels had locked up, and the vehicle was dragging. The driver smelled an abnormal burning rubber odor. A message indicating a high temperature and advising the driver to pull over was displayed. The driver was able to veer to the side of the road and waited for a while until the message cleared. The driver was then able to drive to the nearby residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that gear oil was leaking from the front transfer case and from the AWD housing area. The mechanic informed the contact that the failure had occurred because the dealer failed to replace a gasket during the transmission repair. The contact was referred to the dealer for the repairs. Additionally, the contact stated that the SPORT Mode was inoperable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
VIN : [XXX] Phone number : [XXX] Name: [XXX] EMAIL ADDRESS: [XXX] Incident: I have made a report earlier regarding my Nissan Rogue 2016 , the VIN is mentioned earlier. It’s been a safety issue driving the car as it becomes very hard to control ( LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL) , Loss of electrical features such as USB PORT , bad noise from the speakers when playing songs as there is a water drainage from the panorama roof ! It's been reported to the local Nissan dealership as well as Nissan customer care that the car is unsafe to drive INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
My front airbag light was illuminated during normal every day usage of the vehicle. The vehicle was not involved in an incident, fire, or crash. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership and I was advised that one of the air bags is not operational anymore which in turn would affect the rest of the airbags. The vehicle is only 7 years old. My safety and the safety of my family and passengers is at great risk while operating the vehicle. The cost for this repair is 4K+. I could understand being responsible for this repair if something happened to the vehicle but nothing did. I feel this should be the responsibility of the manufacturer or dealership to repair.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. Additionally, the driver's side and passenger’s side view mirrors could not be adjusted electronically or manually. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the electrical connector was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Loss of acceleration while driving and upon attempting to engage acceleration after stopping. This has been occurring since the vehicle was purchased, used, from a dealership in Sept 2021. The dealership kept the car for 3 months after my initial concern was submitted, (received back right before Christmas of 2022) however, they "could not find anything wrong" and would not agree to replace the vehicle. The car is now rarely driven now, due to the issue and luckily avoided being hit recently when the issue occurred at a heavily trafficked intersection, Did some research online to find that the loss of acceleration is a very common occurrence with the 2016 Rogue. Nissan corporate was recently contacted and a claim was started, in the hopes for a permanent resolution.
The power window components are malfunctioning and have failed. The driver side window is moving up and down at random, and the rear passenger side window has failed and is falling down at random leaving window open and will not stay up. This is a huge safety issue, and puts the driver and passengers in the rear all at risk. The vehicle has been checked at Nissan, and confirmed to have motor failure, regulator failure, structural holes in the door panel unoperable and unrepairable. Due to the malfunction and failure of all of these components involved, the recommendation is to replace the entire door. There was previously a warning light, UNKNOWN warning light. This is an electrical issue with malfunctions and I should not be held responsible for this door repair, and safety issue, which is estimated to cost $4,000. Please advise on this defect/safety issue.
Car has a hard time starting mutiple times. Battery is fine and starter is fine.

The front hood latch seems to be loose and the hood vibrates a lot on the interstate. I am afraid that it is going to open while travelling at high speeds on the freeway.
3/13/2023, The last two times I drove the 2016 Nissan, the AWD Error was on the display. I’m not sure what would cause this. I also noticed that the ABS indicator flashes for a while and then stays on when I first start the vehicle. As I look back, A few times I remember a hesitation after descending a steep street and making a sharp left turn onto an intersecting street. It felt as if there was no power even though the engine accelerated. Today the vehicle has 32,386 miles on the odometer. This vehicle sits idle most of the time in our driveway as it belongs to my son who is in the military overseas. I drive it on occasion to maintain the battery. I did replace the battery several months ago. This is the second battery replacement since it was purchased.

2015 Nissan Rogue will not accelerate in any gear sporadically. Happens once or twice a day. The motor will run and Rpm's rev up, but the drivetrain seems to disengage, and momentum is lost. Very dangerous situation in traffic, because the car seems to stall out, with no warning to other drivers. We have been to the Nissan dealer several times and they say they cannot find a fix until they can "duplicate the issue". As mentioned previously, it happens sporadically.
Hi I did not wreck my car. This has occurred for over a year. My windshield wipers quit working and then they work sporadically. My husband bought a new motor last year but when we checked it the motor said it was fine so we sent the new one back. I have taken my car to the Nissan dealership but when I got on the road to take it my windshield wipers started working again. I took there anyway and they charged me $160 I still have the receipt. They said they didn't see anything wrong but I honestly think they didn't look. Yesterday I took it to another mechanic Fastlane in Hiram Georgia Brandon looked at it and said it was the motor was not getting enough juice. We are going tomorrow to get another Motor at O'Reilly's in Dallas Ga today is On [XXX] and [XXX] I had to drive my car to work with no windshields wipers I had no choice. I have never had a car that this happened to. I have a really nice car and shouldn't even have to write this. My brother passed away in a car wreck and I shouldn't even have to think about getting in my car and dying because of the windshield wipers not working when I'm trying to drive. This has been going on for over a year. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving the dash board went blank for 10 second along with a popping noise. Power to the car did not diminish. Also, power seats often fail. Recently the automatic trunk has not been opening properly.
Last week - while I was driving the power steering went midway - I had to swerve from an on coming car and it took both me and my step father to gain control . I took it to a mechanic and He noted it was the power steering motor was defective and needed to be replaced . I bought this car on or about 2019 or 2020 and it only has 34, 000 miles - should be noted after a heavey 3 day rain this problem occured . I called Nissan and because of the recall they told us to drive it to Nissan which is a distance away - only to address the recall. I noted to them that the car was in a state "Not safe to drive " - I got an email from them proof of ownership - and they wanted us to pay for tow for diagnosis ? The motor obviously is effected from this recall - or it should be listed. I made several phone calls to Nissan USA - and emails . NO avail . this is dangerous and costly repair 2400 dollar estimate repair. Thank you Joseph Kelley repuntzle42@hotmail.com Joseph Kelley or Rebecca fitzgerald
