while driving the car, sometimes the collision light will come on and the car will automatically stat braking even through there are no car in-front or around.
The Forward Collision Warning Light keeps flashing on the dash. It will not go away. It came on randomly. The FCW sensor looks okay from a quick glance. Wanting Nissan to issue a recall for this super common and annoying issue that puts us at risk for random breaking.
On a clear sunny day, while driving around 40 mph with no traffic in front or behind me my Automatic Emergency Braking activated for a instant and then released. If I had been in traffic such as driving through Dallas at 70 mph or more, I might have been rear ended. It scared me. I can imagine what a car behind me would have done with the car in front hitting their break for no reason. There was no warning.
When driving the forward collision warning will flash and beep and immediately brake and causes the car to come to a complete stop, when there is nothing in front of the car. It could cause an accident. I believe the forward collision warning sensor has failed. This has happened several times and it’s not safe for me or others around. I’ve started turning off the forward collision to avoid being in a accident.
Cars automatic emergency braking activated for no apparent reason
I was pulling into a parking space with my foot on the brake going about 2 mph. About 4 feet from a pole the engine raced and the car slammed into the pole. The airbags did not deploy. I was the only person in the car and my foot was still on the bake after the collision I asked Nissan to investigate and they said I would have to wait to get the car fixed for two months and store and tow it at my own expense. It was already being repaired and my insurance company will only pay for a rental for 50 days.
When driving the front end collision light comes on and stops the vehicle in the middle of the road and there is nothing in front of the car. This is very dangerous if there's a car behind you and my car suddenly comes to a stop. I spoke to my dealer and they said this was common since that sensor is sensitive. They're sollution was for me to turn it off. So now I would not have front end collision warning or safety.
While driving the car, sometimes the collision light will come on and the car will automatically start braking even though there are no cars around
Crash detector light flashes on and off.
The front censors activated during snow storm triggering the brakes to lock and steering wheel to lock. The car slid 50 yards across 3way stop sign intersection into a house front lawn. The same censors keep coming on all the time thinking that something is in front of car but nothing is there. I have recorded the censors lights on a few times. Nissan an Nissan dealer have told but no one seems to try to fix it. I'm filing a complain with NY State attorney general office. I can't take it anymore.
Was driving on a county highway in Mercer County, NJ that I’ve driven many times before around 40-45 MPH in perfect sunny weather, mid-morning, when suddenly the car slammed on the brakes on its own. It was a terrifying experience as it happened so fast and I had no control over the vehicle. The blessing is that no one was behind or next to me, but what’s unnerving is there was no one or no objects in front of me. It actually took me a few minutes to make sense of what happened. There was seemingly no logical reason the automatic emergency break system should have activated. I drove it slowly to the dealer and left it as it was a weekend. Next day they checked the car/sensors and could not find an issues and said the software was up to date. They opened a ticket with Nissan who advised to replaced and configure the sensor. I pray it doesn’t happen again but they can’t guarantee it won’t as they said they’ve had other complaints (which they report to Nissan). If someone had been behind me, I was driving faster, or bad weather was present it could have ended very badly. I’m terrified it could happen again that I plan to keep that feature turned off when driving on high speed or busy roads. The annoying part is you have to manually turn it off each time you start the car. I’ve only had it back for a day so not sure what will happen. While the dealer did all they could to help me and make sure my car was safe, I think these features/sensors need to be investigated, let’s not wait until someone dies or is seriously injured.
In October of 2022, While I was driving my 2020 Rogue on a country road to a school event for my granddaughter, the car made a soft bell sound then it immediately slammed on the brakes for no reason that I can understand. I immediately pulled the car off the road. It showed a triangle with an exclamation point within it in the dash display. I shut the car off and when I restarted it the triangle was gone and it drove ok. I later read online that this could be an AEB issue. It was a clear day with no rain and no cars close in front and, luckily, behind me. It scared the hell out of my wife and I. I no longer feel safe in the car if it can do this for no reason! I brought the car into a Nissan Dealer to have it checked on 9/20/22. They did not find any problems with it. They also did not see any fault codes that something happened within the vehicle's memory. I find it unbelievable that the car did not record the fault. To me this means that Nissan has deliberately disabled this function for this fault. I have done a lot of research and apparently this is a well known issue with Nissan vehicles, not just the rogues. I have also read that there are 2 class action suits against Nissan for this. I brought the vehicle in again in Jan 2023 to get the car checked again for the False Activation of AEB, FEB, or FCW. This time I asked to have it checked per NTB18-041D and reprogrammed to the latest software and/or any required hardware to fix this well known issue. They said this NTB was not for my rogue and did not fix it. I have read that this is normal for this defect shown in the NTB. I am still afraid to drive this car and have only driven it about 400 miles since it was looked at. And now I only drive it with the AEB disabled as I was instructed by a tech in the service dept. I would really like to be able to use the AEB safety feature without fear of it falsely locking up the brakes while I'm driving. This Rogue only has 6835 miles on it.
I was stopped at a stop light, when it turned green I hit the gas and within a few seconds, an alarm came on and the car hit the brakes and stopped the car. There was no reason for this to happen. No one in front of me hit their brakes. If there was someone close behind me, I could've easily been rear ended.

TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MPH ON A TWO LANE LOCAL ROAD WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKING ACTIVATED ON ITS ON FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS ALONG WITH A LOUD PULSATING FEELING AND NOISE.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 55 MPH NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OR BEHIND ME WHEN MY SCREEN FLASHED WITH A WARNING WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES. MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS AND I HAD ZERO CONTROL. I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY AED SENSOR BEFORE BUT NEVER LOSING CONTROL OF MY BRAKES.
CAR DRIVING ALONG NORMALLY WHEN SUDDENLY AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIED ITSELF..THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN FIRST MONTH OF OWNERSHIP..FIRST APPROACHING BRIDGE..2ND ON RESIDENTIAL ROAD AND THIRD WHEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY. AT NO TIME DURING THESE STOPPAGES WAS A VEHICLE OR OTHER OBSTACLE CLOSE BY.. TEXTED SALESMAN WHO ADVISED TURNING OFF ABS.. WILL CALL TOMORROW TO DEALER ( TODAY SUNDAY) TO ATTEMPT TO HAVE FIXED.. DON'T THINK THERE'S RECALL YET BUT THERE ARE CLASS ACTION SUITS .. VEHICLE WAS MOVING ON ALL 3 OCCASIONS
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at highway speeds, the Forward Collision-Avoidance System erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the highway. During the failure, there were no other vehicles or objects nearby to cause the system to activate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER BRAND NEW NISSAN ROGUE 2020, SHE WAS HEADED TO WORK AND IT WAS SNOWING. AS SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE AUTOMATED EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM LITERALLY SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AT FULL FORCE MAKING HER SLIP AND GO OVER A CURB, MY WIFE DID NOT EVEN TOUCH THE BRAKES ALL SHE HAD TIME TO DO WAS BRACE FOR THE CRASH. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY I WOULD NOT HAVE A WIFE RIGHT NOW THIS HAPPENED ON 01/27/2021. THE COLLISION SYSTEM OF THE VEHICLE CAUSED THIS DUE TO WHAT THE VEHICLE ITSELF IS SAYING MALFUNCTION IN THE FRONT AND REAR COLLISION SYSTEMS. SHE WAS SCARED TO DEATH THE COLLISION SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO STOP ACCIDENTS NOT CAUSE THEM. I HAVE A CLAIM NUMBER WITH NISSAN AS WELL FOR THIS [XXX}. MY VEHICLES RIM IS CRACKED, INNER TIE RODS BROKE, THE COLLISION SYSTEM WILL NOT LET ME DRIVE THE CAR AS WHEN I START MOVING IT THE BRAKES ENGAGE IMMEDIATELY ITS MAKING A HORRIBLE SHAKING NOISE LIKE ITS STALLING AND I CAN HEAR THE BRAKES ENGAGING AND TRYING TO ACTIVELY STOP THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT WANT MY WIFE OR ANYONE DRIVING THIS CAR. THIS IS SUPER DANGEROUS AND I WANT THOSE SENSORS EITHER REMOVED OR NISSAN WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR MY CAR SO I CAN GET A NEW ONE THIS COULD KILL THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IF ITS NOT CORRECTED. I HAVE VIDEO AND PHOTO PROOF OF THIS.*DT*DT*JB*DT Consumer has not taken vehicle for diagnosis yet. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).”
LANE ASSIST WILL NOT STAY ON EVEN ON FREEWAY OR NEW ROAD. COMES ON AND GOES OFF FOR NO REASON. NISSAN SERVICE PERSON TOLD ME ITS NEW TECHNOLOGY THE ROAD MUST BE PERFECT TO WORK PROPERLY. WHY WOULD YOU PUT IN A TECHNOLOGY TO KEEP YOU IN THE LANE AND IT DOESN'T WORK 30-40% OF THE TIME.
