NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2022 Nissan Rogue. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
DRIVING ON A LOCAL FREEWAY AT THE STATE LIMIT 70 MPH. I PASSED AN 18-WHEELER AND PROCEEDED TO ENTER THE RIGHT LANE AFTER PASSING THE TRUCK. ONCE IN THE RIGHT LANE THE POWER REDUCED/ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT/ SERVICE LIGHT APPEARED. THIS WAS THE FIRST ENGINE LIGHTS TO APPEAR SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE WITH 12000 MILES ON IT. MY RATE OF SPEED WAS DRAMATICALLY REDUCED CAUSING THE 18 WHEELER I HAD JUST PASSED TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AND FORCING ME OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID AN ALL-OUT COLLISION. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. I WAS TOLD A SEAL FAILED ON THE WATER CONTROL VALVE CAUSING THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION. THE SEAL WAS REPLACED AND VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME. ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP, AFTER THE WATER CONTROL VALVE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE STALLED ENTERING A HIGHWAY IN THE CENTER LANE! FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A MONTH, MY LIFE AND UNSUSPECTING OTHER TRAVELLERS' LIVES WERE PLACED IN DANGER DUE TO THE MALFUNCTIONING VEHICLE/ENGINE. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE AND MAKE IT HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT SITS.
My Rogue had an engine failure in 2024. This caused the car not slow down and not accelerate on highway and could have caused an accident. Entire engine and turbo and replaced at 71276 miles. In 2025 another incident happened where the car lost power on the interstate in left lane, I had to move my car to right side of road in busy traffic. This could have also been a major accident, and put my family at risk. I left the car at another dealer as I was on vacation. This time the EGR valve, EGR sensor had to be replaced as well as all catalytic converters at 97018 and 97282 miles I received the recall notice after all of this in the mail about the engine recall on this Rogue and Nissan is failing to reimburse me for any of the repairs for the engine and other parts replacement. They are saying that the repairs are not related to the recall. I have heard from my dealer and other sources that several of these Rogue engines are failing similar to what mine did. I do not believe Nissan is doing enough to resolve the issue with these cars.
I purchased my 22 Rogue Feb 22 brand new. First Issue: January 2023(2600 miles), engine oil drain pan had to be replaced. Apparently, it broke during oil change at dealership. I've heard others complain about the same thing. Second issue, 6500 miles (June 2024): *suv begun driving weird. While driving the vehicle jerks, shudders, and acts like it is going to lose power. Losing power / shuddering while driving can be a danger to myself or others driving around me if suv unexpectedly reduces in speed. This happens during both high and low speeds. *Suv also stalls when trying to accelerate from a complete stop. Not sure if this was related to the software update (recall) I done at the dealership June 24, but issue 2 started immediately afterwards. Suv was taken to dealership when I started experiencing issue 2. Dealership had vehicle for 2 weeks, but return vehicle and said nothing was wrong. They said the Nissan Engineer that came out found no issues as well. They did mention the Turbo lagging, but sd that's normal. Fast forward, 6 weeks later (Aug 24), returned suv to dealership because performance is worse AND now engine light is on. Dealership advised light is bcz fuel pump needs to be replaced, but stated different than the current fuel pump recall on some 22 Rogues. How is this possible? Based on my mileage, my car is still nearly brand new. Vehicle is at dealership now pending repairs.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle was sputtering and jerking. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive to his destination, where the vehicle was parked and turned off. The contact stated that upon attempting to restart the vehicle half an hour later, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to restart after several attempts; however, there was smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe and the engine was overheating. The vehicle was driven to the dealer at slow speeds. The dealer diagnosed that the head gasket had failed, causing engine damage. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,962.
Digital gas guage one is ready full and the other is saying 160 mile… put 12 galls of gas in yesterday it should not be full but should have more miles than what it is showing
Engine failure with less than 44,000 miles on the car. Engine just failed and shut of while traveling down the road. Car is sitting in a Nissan dealerships lot with absolutely no news on what is happening. There were no known issues with the car at the time of the engine failure, it just happened all the sudden
The attached letter of 10/14/24 to the manufacturer and to the dealership describes the reproduced safety problem that put us at risk 4 times. Engine failure. Yes the 4 times were confirmed by the Pat Fischer Nissan Dealership. The vehicle was diagnosed and inspected by the manufacturers authorized representative, Nissan dealership of Titusville, Fl. 32780. The warning lamps, messages appeared at the same time that the problem happened putting our lives at risk. Pics of messages and repair orders info to be subsequently uploaded and sent to you.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that upon approaching the vehicle, he observed a fluid leak underneath the engine compartment. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed the fluid leak from an unknown location and informed the contact that there was a misfire in cylinder #2. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE23023 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Engine). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.
There is an ongoing problem with a fuel (gasoline) odor in the cabin. This most commonly occurs in a warm start situation, ie the car has sat for 15 minutes to an hour after driving. When the car starts there is a strong gas smell which does not dissipate for anywhere from 10 minutes up to 45 minutes. Strangely this seems worse when the vehicle has backed up prior to shutting down. This does not seem to be a problem when cold (sitting overnight or for 4 or more hours) at this point. I am concerned that this may result in a fire and the obvious issues regarding health concerns related to breathing gas vapor. The dealer says they are aware of the problem but they are unable to resolve it at this point.
My 2022 Nissan Rogue VC-Turbo has progressively worsening engine knocking and vibration since ~30,000 miles. Dealer documented: “Found variable compression ratio actuator to be making noise” (see repair order). Symptoms persist at idle, acceleration, and when warm. Recall 25V-437 is marked complete, but the actuator continues to make noise, indicating the defect is not fully remedied. Nissan Consumer Affairs offered 50% financial assistance toward the actuator repair (email attached), and the dealer requested a diagnostic fee, which I have not paid and formally dispute, as the inspection relates to a potential safety defect. The actuator controls the internal multi-link compression system connected to the crankshaft, Progressive knocking and vibration may indicate stress on internal bearings and failure could lead to loss of engine power or engine seizure while driving, creating a serious safety risk. Vehicle is originally owned, maintained at Nissan dealerships, and has a branded title solely for cosmetic hail damage, with documentation confirming no structural or mechanical impact. I request NHTSA record this complaint, evaluate potential safety defect, and consider further investigation. I can provide repair orders, service records, and videos of the noise if needed.
Strong odor of fuel when parked in the garage and vehicle is off. Nissan dealer can not find issue. VERY STRONG SMELL OF GAS.
235/60R18 tire size I bought a new 2022 Rogue March 2022 which only now has 14,000 miles.During regular maintenance on 1/13/24 , I was told I needed new tires because of tread wear.Nissan said they do not give tire warranty and Hankook would be responsible. After looking at BBB reports, there are quite a few others with similar or same issues. Blow outs, knots or baldness on tires. If these tires don’t last even 2 years or past 14,000 miles,I consider them defective in some way and certainly a safety issue. If Nissan has complaints and still continues to use this tire they are to blame as well.
I was caught in a snowstorm, driving about 5 MPH. Suddenly, the vehicle swerved to the left and I lost complete control; the brakes locked up. The vehicle spun about 145° degrees before coming to a stop perpendicular to the road; subsequently rear-ended from behind. The moment was surreal; I’ve never felt closer to a life-threatening incident because I had ZERO CONTROL over the car: I was spared ONLY because there was no oncoming traffic. My biggest concern is why the safety systems failed to intervene. During the incident, the ABS did NOTHING. Traction Control, NOTHING. NO warning lights came on. It’s mind blowing that the car skidded about 145° degrees without any intervention from the ABS and Traction Control systems. With modern 4-channel ABS and advanced Traction Control (Vehicle Dynamic Control) safety systems, the car should have attempted to correct itself. Because I was at a standstill, I was braking the entire time; I didn’t jam the brakes or steer the vehicle. To make matters worse, the car was in Snow Mode AWD. One hypothesis is a glitch where Vehicle Dynamic Control won’t operate in snow mode to give maximum engine performance. But at the cost of reduced safety and traction. Or perhaps the safety systems are not working as intended. The emergency brake malfunction light occasionally comes on when idling and several malfunction messages once during a long trip. However, these were sporadic and did not appear before this incident. Moreover, the maintenance person at my apartment recently experienced the same issue. While on the road with his new 2021 Nissan Rogue, his car spun out of control FOUR TIMES. He's driven in the snow in other vehicles without a problem, and will NEVER drive the Rogue in snow again. Because this vehicle failed in a critical safety scenario, I’m requesting Nissan carefully inspect the safety systems, including the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Vehicle Dynamic Control free of charge. Will escalate this further if needed.
2022 Nissan Rogue SV 1.5L Engine rattling noise around 2000rpm. Told at Nissan service that noise in normal and they cannot do anything about that. Please investigate I didnt bought tractor I paid for vehicle 37k.!!!! Also I see lot of peoples complain about same issue online with same respond from nissan service "that is normal noise"
Have been smelling gasoline inside the vehicle. Everytime the heat is turned on it smells terribly like gas.
Complete sudden unwarned engine failure nearly causing an accident. Necessitating an engine replacement. Subsequent issues with transmission programming and alternator necessitating alternator replacement.
My son and I were driving home and my 2022 Nissan rogue SV suddenly began making extremely loud banging and knocking sounds in the engine bay. We were traveling approximately 40 mph and did not hit any bumps. The following morning the vehicle was towed to the dealership for inspection and we were told that day that the engine would need to be replaced. While we did not get too many specifics from the dealership regarding the exact cause, it was related to some bearings of some sort and causing what is called rod knock. The vehicle remain at the dealership until a new engine , or new engine parts, could be delivered. Nissan's warranty covered the cost of the repairs since the vehicle only had roughly 15,000 miles on it when the incident occurred. I have not had the vehicle inspected by a third party to confirm that the entire engine was replaced or if only certain parts were. One of the technicians at the dealership mentioned that they had seen or heard whispers about several reports of this particular issue, which is part of why they were able to diagnose it so quickly, but couldn't confirm the exact cause of that engines failure. Prior to the engine failing, there were no warning lights or indicators present in the vehicle. The vehicle has received regularly scheduled maintenance at this dealership since it's purchase. This incident occurred on December 2nd, 2023. I took a video the night of the incident of the vehicle and the knocking sounds it was making , but I can't upload it via this incident report, so let me know if you would like it and I will send it another way.
Engine: Ever since purchasing my rogue i had to take it to the dealership 3 separate times for engine mounts to be replaced due to shaking when car is idle. Electrical: Camera system stops working all of a sudden at 50k miles and unable to use reverse camera and will not work when clicking on camera button. This has been a known issue affecting personal vehicles and being discussed all online.
I uploaded the same letter I sent to the Nissan Manufacturer. Please view letter on Uploade files. Thank you
Jiffy Lube reported PLASTIC oil pan and plug broke when removing plug for draining. Manager at shop reported he had seen this before in another Nissan and he believes it is a common problem with the plastic oil pan. Internet search of forums describes similar problem and that replacements are the mid-$400s, just for parts, not labor. Sounds like a recall is needed.
The front sunroof on a 2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum blew out while traveling on highway at normal speed. There were no warnings. The car dealership has ordered replacement parts to repair the sunroof glass. They said they had not heard of this and tried to blame it on a rock but the remaining glass is at an upward tilt. It was taped that day.
On 8/9/2023 I went to my mechanic for a routine oil change. The prior oil change was done by the dealership where I purchased the car, Hgregg Nissan in Delray Beach, FL. When the mechanic opened the drain plug, the threads and assembly all came out, rendering the oil pan useless. If this happened on the highway, the results could be catastrophic. The dealership said whoever did the prior oil change may have over tightened the plug. The dealership had done the prior oil change. The oil plan is plastic, and problems with it are cited on internet forums. Nissan USA will not even cover the cost to replace the damaged oil plan under its warranty. My car was under warranty with about 16,000 miles when the incident occurred.
On 6/27/22 we were driving roughly 35 mph and all of the sudden the warning light Engine Malfunction Power reduced Service now warning light came on and the car immediately slowed to 20 mph with no warning. It was a Sunday so we couldn’t take it to the dealership that day. We turned the car off and in about 20 minutes turned it back on and the warning light had cleared. We took it to the dealership the next day. Since the car only had 14,912 miles assumed the warranty would cover. They didn’t find anything but still charged us $168.53. Then on 8/30 it happened again while backing up. Called Nissan and they instructed me to turn it off and back on. I did but it still had the warning light and reduced speed. I was roughly 30 miles from the dealership and they wanted me to drive it in. I told them that wasn’t safe. They said at my expense have it towed. After the car was turned off awhile it cleared and went back to normal. I took the car in the next day. Again they said they couldn’t recreate the issue and had no solution. They indicated Nissan knew there was an issue but didn’t have a fix yet. They said it might mean a new engine. I filed a complaint with Nissan asking for them to buyback the car because I felt it wasn’t safe. They denied it. If at some point you are driving 70 mph on a 4 lane interstate in busy traffic and it happens and the speed reduces from 70 to 20 with no brake light coming on or warning to the driver. It could be catastrophic. On various complaint sites you can see that this is a large issue for Nissan.
My 2022 Nissan Rogue has a very strong smell of gas fumes in the cab. I have complained to the Nissan dealership where I purchased the vehicle numerus times yet no fix has been offered. I finally do have an appointment to have it looked at after enough complaints got through to them. I am hoping they have a fix for it. I am concerned about my health and that of my passengers. I am also concerned that this can become a fire risk. This smell started happening about six months into owning the vehicle and takes place in both cold and warm weather.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle sporadically swerved into the right lane. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Gerald Nissan of Naperville (1575 W Ogden Ave, Naperville, IL 60540) who informed the contact that the shocks and another unknown part needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000.
I am joining the many others in reporting a very strong fuel order (raw gasoline) that enters the cabin and when parked in the garage, spews tons of raw gasoline fume, which I believe could eventually cause fire/explosion. This makes the SUV very difficult to be inside and drive. We do have the 3cyl turbo engine. Current mileage is approximately 3200. Dealer reports unable to verify and cannot proceed due to the SUV being in "engineering status".
I have leased this vehicle since May 13, 2022. Soon after taking delivery, I started to notice a faint smell of gasoline every day when it is enclosed in my garage. The smell has been getting stronger and I am very concerned. There have been times when I can now smell the gasoline when I enter my car when it has been parked outside. I did take it back to my dealer and informed them of my concern. They told me there was no viable leaks and said Nissan is aware of the problem but there is no fix at this time. My dealership has tried to assure me that the vehicle is safe. I have gone on Nissan Rogue owner forums and many owners have the same complaint but no resolution. This morning the smell of gasoline in my garage was very strong. How can this be safe for my health and for the risk of fire?
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that a few months after she purchased the vehicle, she noticed an abnormally strong gasoline odor inside and outside the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was inspected, but no failure was found. The contact stated that the odor became extremely strong. The vehicle was taken to another dealer where the contact was informed that the manufacture was aware of the issue; however, there was no remedy, and that the cause of the odor was due to the winter gasoline blend. The contact stated that she was concerned that the fuel odor might cause a fire. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number and advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
After driving the vehicle, we’ll notice a gas smell coming from the car when parked in the garage. There is no leak or any issues with the vehicle running. Sometimes the odor is minimal and sometimes very strong. Nissan has reported awareness of this and is looking for a fix.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, there was a yellow box displayed, and the CVT warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer informed the contact that there was no warranty coverage on the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Suburban Nissan of Farmington Hills (37901 Grand River Ave., Farmington Hills, MI 48335) and it was determined that the vehicle was operating as designed. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle was smoking. The contact stated that the check engine and CVT warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Nissan of Canton (42175 Michigan Ave., Canton Township, MI 48188) and was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case and confirmed there was no warranty or recall coverage on the vehicle for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48.
While driving in traffic I proceeded to give the car gas to move 2 car lengths forward but the car jerked back and then accelerated on its own. I applied pressure to the brake and as the came up off it the car accelerated again. I swerved off the highway and once in park the car continued to have high rpm of 3.5 while in park. Keep in mind i had been driving the car for over an hour so it wasn’t cold. After the vehicle was towed to the dealer, the tow truck driver experienced the same thing with high RPM.
On 3/25/2023 with less than 800 miles on the vehicle, the throttle got stuck. The cruise control was on but NOT activated. After passing a vehicle on a 3 lane interstate, the vehicle accelerated on its own to over 100mph. I hit the cruise control button to turn it off, but the car continued to accelerate on its own. I hit the brake to slow down and try to get it to shut off (thinking if was a cruise control issue), but every time I lifted my foot off the brake pedal, it would accelerate to speeds of 90-110mph. I continued to brake about 7-8 times, then I heard a loud "kurplunk" in the engine, and it stopped. It continued to drive normally for the rest of the trip. The Rogue was taken to the dealership and checked out. I was told the "floor mats got stuck on the gas pedal and not to drive with both the carpeted mats and the rubber mats in the vehicle." I told the service manager this obviously was not the problem and there was a bigger issue, and that did not explain the loud sound coming from the engine. Upon leaving the dealership that same day on 3/30/2023, I accelerated to get on an onramp to Interstate I35, and the RPM stuck at 3200 and would not go down. The engine roared. It was in Sport Mode, so I switched the vehicle to Standard and the RPMs dropped to 2000-2100. I circled back around and went back to the dealership and had the female servie manager ride with me. The engine continued to roar at high RPMs, and the service manager said this was "normal." We returned to the dealership; nothing further was checked out on the vehicle. 7/28/2023 At 4442 miles, I accelerated to get on an onramp to I20 and the accelerataor got stuck again; I was riding the brakes in traffic on the onramp to get the vehicle to slow down. If i removed my foot from the brakes, it accelerated on its own. I kept my foot on the brake and kept pumping until I heard the loud "kurplunk" and it quit once again. This has happend two more times in December of 2023.
3/25/2023 784 miles and 12 days after purchasing the vehicle The throttle got stuck, cruise was on but not activated, was going 100mgh, hit the brakes, slowed the speed, every time I took my foot off the brake, I was doing 90-100mph. I hit the brakes 5-7 times to try to cancel the cruise even though it was was set. It said "Activate" so it was not on. Then after hitting the brakes repeatedly, I heard a loud kerplunk (metal on metal) sound in the engine behind the brake pedal, and it shut off and drove normally afterwards. 3/30/2023 I accelerated to get on I35 and RPM stuck at 3200 and would not shift in sport mode; I changed to Standard mode and the RPMs dropped to 2000-2100; the engine revved up loud in sport mode. Female Service Manager from Burleson Nissan was in the car at the time of the event. This has happened 3 more times since owning this vehicle. At the advice of my lemon law attorney, I am reporting them separately.
3/21/2023 Rear crash warning went off and car would not move leaving me in the middle of the road blocking both lanes of traffic. Car eventually permitted me to go forward however crash warning continued to blink. It’s recorded on Video the flashing warnings. Had the car at dealer for recall of Head unit on 11/16 and has been back 3 times since and Has not been repaired. On Approx2/62024 I had a critical Error appear on my screen and the ABS took the car from 70 MPH to under 40 on the highway for no reason. On 2/7 I was called to Bring the car back to dealer and was given a rental car for over a month, there was a firewall repair and fuel line repair. Still no head unit with no ETA! From my understanding head unit will hopefully fix sensors from randomly going off. Dispite having video of it happening, Nissan can’t duplicate so warning issues are not repaired. The car is dangerous but have no other means of transportation and it can’t seem to get repaired because they don’t have the parts yet still have the parts to continue to produce them.
There is a constant fuel smell around the car when parked (and with the car off) which is present for several hours (and sometimes overnight) after operating and shutting off the vehicle. In addition, there is a gasoline or fuel odor observed inside the vehicle when running in stop and go traffic or sitting at a stoplight for an extended period of time. I have had the Nissan dealer review the problem on two separate occasions, they claim that Nissan is aware but that there is no fix available to them. Also had a fuel system issue (indicator light came on) that was addressed by the dealership.
I smell gas inside my car. I take the car to the dealer they check everything but they say they can’t fix it. They know about the leak and they say it’s hopping on the Nissan’s 2022 and 2023 . They know about the problem with those cars but they still sell sold them to the people.
I was driving and no one was driving near me and the sunroof exploded with a loud bang! I pulled over and it was shattered .
I currently drive a 2022 Nissan Rogue SV, purchased in New Braunfels, Texas. When traveling downhill, when applying the brakes the engine studders. I brought it to the dealership to have it checked out, after inspecting multiple points on the vehicle including the brakes, transmission, alignment no such issue was identified as the cause. The technician test drove the vehicle, able to recreate the issue. The technician called Nissan to describe the problem and was informed that this is a known issue when braking downhill.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while pulling out of the driveway, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle made an abnormal sound while pulling into the driveway later that day. The vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the emission and the fuel system. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the dealer informed the contact that the parts were on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,900.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while merging onto a highway at 60 MPH, the vehicle continued to accelerate upon releasing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal to slow the vehicle; however, upon release of the brake pedal, the engine began to rev, and the vehicle accelerated to 85 MPH. The contact depressed the brake pedal and pulled off to the shoulder of the highway. The engine continued to rev as the contact turned off the vehicle. The contact's husband arrived at the scene after 20 minutes and upon restart of the vehicle, several warning lights appeared on the instrument panel as her husband slowly drove the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V772000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the infotainment system displayed a blank screen. The contact had to restart the vehicle to correct the failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,199.
Gas fumes leaking into cabin. Garage smells like gas when vehicle is parked there. Nissan has no idea what causes this.
We keep our car in an enclosed garage and when parking in the garage there is a large build up of gas/exhaust smell. The smell is sickening and enters the house whenever we open the entry door. We bought the car in September 2022 and brought it to the dealership in January 2023 where they verified the problem but didn’t have any solution. We received a letter from Nissan (NT/23-025) acknowledging the problem. The did nothing nor communicated we us so we brought it back in on January 2024 and they ordered parts and serviced on Feb 21/24. Back in to dealership on Mar 4,2024; April 3, 2024; April 5, 2024. Then May 8, 2024 Nissan engineers investigated and replaced another part. Still have odor problem.
Gas smell after driving. Dealer replaced EVAP canister valve but still fills my garage with smell
My Vehicle has 3,700 miles on it and i have smelled a very intense fuel smell in the cabin of the vehicle at least 6 times mostly when the interior fan is not set to recirculate the air, i took the vehicle to my local nissan service center and they could find no issues but said this is a complaint that others have also made. I am concerned that there could be a fire from the fumes that are being released.
The gas pedal in my new 2022 Nissan Rogue has stuck open full throttle twice. Both times I managed to avoid a major car accident, but I was in the middle of a highway with traffic... I was in the left hand turn lane and pushed the gas pedal to the floor - the vehicle immediately seemed to be full-throttle in LOW gear - this is a problem with this vehicle. It slips into low gear about 20 percent of the time when you put it in D. the engined raced but the vehicle moved slowly. I took my foot completely off the gas pedal but the gas pedal stayed fully engaged. I pushed on the brake and managed to stop the vehicle with the engine still racing and the vehicle still trying to lunge forward. I tried to put the vehicle into neutral but it bypassed neutral - even the dotted indicator transmission light bypassed neutral and jumped into reverse. the car lurched but i still had the brakes fully engaged... this continued with me again tryying for neutral - then I gave up and concentrated on taking one of my 2 feet off the brake and reaching under the throttle. I had to slip my seat belt off and slide down to accomplish this. I did manage to do it and the gas pedal did disengage. I estimate the pedal was stuck and the engine revved full throttle for four minutes or a little longer. My son was outside the vehicle (waiting for me to pick him up) and he witnessed this from outside the vehicle. This is obviously very dangerous and could be deadly. In my case it could have caused a major multi-vehicle accident.
There is a strong unburied fuel smell on occasion. The dealer says that they are waiting for Nissan engineering to provide a repair and that it would be ok to drive.
After 9 months of owning this car. When I drive for 20 or so miles and turn the vehicle off for a short period then restart I smell gas and fumes make me sick and my eyes water at times. The dealer found nothing wrong. Nissan corporate got involved after I emailed them. Their engineering tech confirmed it was happening.
radio control system which includes backup camera, stopped working. Manufacturer isn't providing replacement though they admit the part needs to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while stopped at a stop sign, the rear window shattered without impact. The dealer was contacted, and the contact was referred to Safelite auto glass for assistance. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 2,000.
