I am reporting a recurring safety issue with the vehicle’s auto engine stop/start system. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the engine sometimes shuts off normally (other time only the auto-brakes engage, but engine stays on), but then the system behaves unpredictably. The engine attempts to restart with a violent jolt, causing the entire vehicle to shake. This occurs even when I am fully stopped with my foot on the brake. It feels like the vehicle is trying to lurch forward or restart against resistance. The issue is repeatable, happens in normal driving conditions, and creates a safety concern because the sudden jolt can startle the driver, cause unintended movement, or lead to loss of control in traffic. I believe this may indicate a defect in the auto‑engine‑stop system, engine mounts, starter system, or related control modules. Please investigate, as other owners may be experiencing the same unsafe behavior.
I was driving at night at highway speed, and I turned down the brightness of the screen using the dimmer controls on the lower left side of the dash assembly. After several presses of the button from full illumination to approximately 40%, the entire instrument panel went blank, and a loud alert sounded. I lost all instrumentation for a few seconds, and then the screen rebooted. After it rebooted back at full brightness, I tried reducing it again, and the instrument panel rebooted for a second time while on the highway.
