THE EXHAUST PIPE ON MY NISSAN SENTRA 2010 STARTED RUSTING FOR THE FIRST YEAR. FOR THE 3RD YEAR THAT I OWN THE CAR THE EXHAUST PIPE RUSTED THROUGH THE PIPE AND ACTUALLY BROKE APART AND IS NOW HANGING DOWN. NOW THE EXHAUST IS COMING OUT WHERE THE RUST CAME EAT THROUGH THE METAL AND IS MAKING REALLY LOUD NOISES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM WAS BURNED AND THE POSITIVE POST TERMINAL WAS FRACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES, THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT WANT TO COME OUT OF LOW GEAR. AT 35 MPH, I WAS AT ABOUT 6,000RPMS IN DRIVE. I CONFIRMED THE OVERDRIVE OFF BUTTON IS NOT ENGAGED, NOR IS IT IN "L", AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS OFF. WHEN IT HAS BEEN COOLED OFF FOR ABOUT 3+ HOURS, IT WILL DRIVE FAIRLY NORMAL FOR ABOUT 10-12 MINUTES UNTIL WARMED UP, THEN IT ALL STARTS AGAIN. EVEN ONCE IT IS COOLED OFF, THERE IS A SLIGHT DRAG ON POWER AND IT WILL BEGIN TO HAVE ERRATIC SHIFTING (SIMILAR TO A REGULAR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPPING) AFTER A FEW MINUTES ON TAKE OFF IT FEELS LIKE THE PARKING BRAKE IS ON, BUT IT IS NOT. THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COMES ON, THE VDC CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON, AND ANOTHER LIGHT THAT IS ABOVE THE VDC LIGHT COMES ON. CODES P0720 AND P1778 WERE FOUND BY A LOCAL NON-NISSAN DEALER WHO CHECKED THEM AS A COURTESY FOR ME. HAVE DISCOVERED THAT NISSAN HAS EXTENDED THE CVT TRANSMISSION WARRANTY ON CERTAIN NISSANS UP TO 10 YRS OR 120,000 MILES, MY SENTRA IS INCLUDED AMONG OTHERS. IF NOT COVERED, I HAVE TO PAY THAT. A CALL TO ANOTHER NISSAN SERVICE CENTER EXPLAINED THE SAME EXPENSE. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE MANY COMING THRU THAT ARE UNDER THE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM DUE TO A DEFECT THAT CAUSES ENGINE COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION. FOR THAT PROBLEM, NISSAN WILL REPLACE IT BUT THEY EXPECT THE CUSTOMER TO PAY $2,000 TOWARD THE BILL. THAT IS RIDICULOUS FOR A MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN DESIGN THAT THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT CAUSES THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35, 631.
WHEN I AM DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY I CAN'T PICK UP SPEED. I CAN HAVE THE PEDDLE ALL THE WAY DOWN AND IT WILL NOT PICK UP SPEED. IT HAS SLOWED DOWN AND I HAVE HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT WAS MAY 3RD. I TOOK TO THE SHOP AND GOT A CODE P0744. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION.
NOISE IN MOTOR WHILE RUNNING AFTER IT WAS FIXED. FOR ABOUT A MONTH IT WAS QUITE AND NOW IT IS BACK AND THEY SAY NO ONE CAN HEAR IT! *TR

THE TEST RESULTS SHOWED A DEFECTIVE ECM. THE FAULTY ECM WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. NUMBER 11V579000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
LEFT CAR WITH HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND ENGINE OFF FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND WHEN TRIED TO START CAR AGAIN, CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD JUST DROVE THE CAR FOR MY MORNING COMMUTE OF ABOUT 1 HOUR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED ON THIS VEHICLE'S STOCK BATTERY. I AM SUSPICIOUS THAT THERE ARE RECALLS FOR THE SAME PART ON DIFFERENT VEHICLES, BUT NOT THE ONE I HAVE. *TR
POSITIVE BATTERY ARCING/VOLTAGE DROP, CAUSING ECM RESET, VEHICLE FAILS TO START, STRANDED BY SIDE OF ROAD. THIS IS AN EXISTING RECALL AND NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO COVER OTHER MONTHS OF MFG. THIS IS A POUR DESIGN THAT ALLOWS A LOSS OF VOLTAGE TO CAUSE THE ECM TO BE DAMAGED AND/OR NEED REPROGRAMMED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTAC STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, A LOUD NOISE EMITTED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO A SAFE LOCATION AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE WHERE HE NOTICED THAT THE UNDER CARRIAGE RUBBER BODY MOUNTS WERE SEVERELY CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM WHOM INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE SERVICE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DRIVING TO OKLAHOMA FROM EL PASO, TWO HOURS INTO THE TRIP WE ARE GOING UP THE MOUNTAINS AND THE CAR STOPS SHIFTING. WE WENT FROM 70MPH TO 40 MPH ALL THE WAY UP THE MOUNTAIN. THE CAR DID THIS FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP. WE CONTACTED CASA NISSAN ONCE WE RETURNED FROM OUR TRIP. MY CAR WAS DUE FOR ITS REGULARLY SCHEDULED TUN UP SO THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID HE WOULD CHECK OUT THE ISSUE DURING SERVICE. THE REPRESENTATIVE ASSURED ME THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO LOW TRANSMISSION FLUIDS AND THE FLUIDS WERE FILLED AND SERVICED. ON AUGUST 10,2012 WE WENT BACK TO OKLAHOMA AND THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED. WE ARE BACK IN THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THE SAME REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. SEPTEMBER 2011 THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE IN THE CAR AND NOW ITS THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A ONE-TIME,ONLY-THING, BUT FELT I WANTED TO MENTION IT. MY MOTHER DRIVES A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA, BUILT ABOUT 2/10 IT HAS NEVER BEEN SERVICED BY THE DEALER EXCEPT FOR 'INCLUDED' OIL AND FILTER CHANGES, AS PART OF THE NEW CAR 'SELL' I TOOK THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL OFF, TO ROTATE THE TIRES AND, SINCE I HAVE REPLACED CONTROL ARMS, AND CV AXLES MYSELF IN THE PAST, LOOKED AROUND. THE 32 MM SPINDLE NUT WAS LOOSE ENOUGH TO TURN BY HAND, THE ORIGINAL COTTER-PIN (PAINTED BLACK WHILE THE CAR WAS BUILT) WAS ORIGINAL-PROPERLY INTACT. I CONSULTED MY TECHNICAL MANUAL AND IT SAID THAT THIS 32 MM SPINDLE NUT IS USUALLY TORQUED TO 92 FOOT-POUNDS-NOT FINGER TIGHT. IN FAIRNESS AS I WRITE THIS-TO LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED-AND TO THE MANUFACTURERS DEFENSE-THE CAR DID HIT A CURB ON THAT SIDE-AND THE TIRE BLEW-IT WAS REPLACED BY ETD TIRE SERVICE IN NJ. BUT THAT COTTER PIN IS ORIGINAL-NEVER REMOVED. SO A SOCKET COULD NOT HAVE BEEN PUT ON IT TO LOOSEN IT FROM THE ORIGINAL TORQUE SETTING. UNLESS THE SHOCK OF THE TIRE IMPACT JARRED IT LOOSE? KNOCKED THE WHEEL BEARING AND LOOSENED THE SPINDLE NUT? EITHER WAY-I AM GLAD I SPOTTED THIS. I WONDER IF THIS TORQUE SPECIFICATION IS ADEQUATE? 92 FOOT LBS. *TR
THROTTLE FAILS TO RETURN TO IDLE AFTER I TAKE FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. REPORTED TO DEALER, WHO CHECKED IT OUT, BUT FOUND NOTHING. IF IT REPEATED, THEY SAID TO RETURN IT. IT DID REPEAT, SEVERAL TIMES. I PLAN TO CALL THEM AGAIN TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. IT SOUNDS VERY FAMILIAR TO THE RECENT FORD ESCAPE AND MAZDA TRIBUTE THROTTLE PROBLEMS. *TR

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

DEAR MADAM/SIR, THIS IS IN REGARDS TO MY 2010 SENTRA THAT EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION ON 15TH OF JANUARY 2012. PICTURES OF THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION INCIDENT AND EXPLANATIONS CAN BE FOUND AT HTTP://WWW.NISSAN-INCIDENT.COM/. AS PER NISSAN'S-USA RECOMMENDATIONS I TOWED MY CAR FOR EXTENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC INVESTIGATIONS AT MARRAZI NISSAN, IN NAPLES FL ON FEBRUARY THE 21ST. NISSAN -USA DID NOT SEND ME A COPY OF THE DETAILED TECHNICAL DIAGNOSTIC REPORT THAT MY CAR WAS SUBJECTED TO FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS. CLEARLY THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED SINCE THE 5 FEET SKID MARK ON THE SIDEWALK IS VISIBLE 'CHECK THE PICTURES POSTED. THE SHOE WAS NARROWER THAN THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE ACCELERATION PEDAL, SO THIS DOES NOT EXPLAIN THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT IN 2005 NISSAN INTRODUCED THE OVERRIDE ACCELERATOR INPUT, MEANING DEPRESSING THE BRAKE WILL CUT OFF THE ACCELERATION. CONCLUSION: IT WAS A MALFUNCTION AND CLEARLY A SUDDEN ACCELERATION INCIDENT. NISSAN USA WILL NOT STATE WHETHER ACCORDING TO THEIR INVESTIGATION THE VEHICLE IS SAFE FOR DRIVING AND DOES NOT POSE A ROAD HAZARD. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER FULL WARRANTY, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR NEARLY A MONTH. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR SINCE IN MY OPINION IT POSES A SAFETY HAZARD. THE CAR IS STILL AT JOHN MARAZZI NISSAN WHO NEVER EVEN CALLED ME, NOT EVEN AFTER I LEFT THEM A MESSAGE AND SENT THEM A FAX. PULLING INTO PARKING SPACE AND FELT A "POP" AS THE WHEEL TURNED. I TURNED THE WHEEL BACK AND FORTH AND NOTICED THERE WAS NO RESISTANCE WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT. I TURNED CAR OFF WITH THE WHEEL STILL TURNED TO THE LEFT AND LOOKED AT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL AND NOTICED THE WHEEL WAS POINTED TO THE RIGHT. I LOOKED AT THE RIGHT WHEEL AND IT WAS POINTED TO THE LEFT. I LOOKED AT THE LEFT WHEEL AND SAW THAT THE TIE ROD HAD SNAPPED IN HALF. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AND THERE WERE NO CEMENT PARKING BARRIERS PRESENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH OVER A BRIDGE WHEN HE TRAVELED OVER A PATCH OF ICE. THE VEHICLE SLID AND CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE DIVIDER AS ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT ARM AND LEG. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE AND CONTINUED TO HAVE SEVERE PAINS FOLLOWING THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED OR INSPECTED FOR THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE FIRST INCIDENT I WAS REVERSING OUT OF SPOT AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF, I HAD NO CONTROL OF GAS HOWEVER LIGHTS AND DASHBOARD ERRORS WERE DISPLAYED. I PUT CAR IN PARK, TURNED IGNITION OFF AND TRIED TO START UP CAR WITH SUCCESS . SO I THOUGHT MAYBE SOMETHING STRANGE HAPPENED AND I WENT ON WITH MY LIFE. OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS THIS KEPT HAPPENING MONTHS EVEN YEARS APART AT THE STRANGEST TIMES. FOR EXAMPLE THE MOST RECENT TIME IT HAPPENED I HAD STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND WHEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF LIKE IT HAS SO MANY TIMES . BY NOW I STARTED THINKING MAYBE THIS IS MORE THAN A COINCIDENCE AND ACTUALLY SAW A RECALL ONLINE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. ONLY THIS TIME THE CAR WOULDN'T START BACK UP. I HAD IT TOWED TO NISSAN AND TOLD THEM MY SUSPICIONS ON THE RECALL AND I GET A CALL BACK A FEW DAYS LATER SAYING I NEED A NEW ENGINE AND THEY CAN'T CHECK THE ELECTRICAL RECALL BC THEY CAN'T START THE CAR . WHAT DO I DO NOW!? *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,875.
I HAVE NOW HAD 2 BLOWOUTS IN THIS CAR AND HAVE 20350 MILES ON THIS CAR AND THESE TIRES SAY THAT THEY ARE 70,000+ MILES AND THEY HAVE WAY LESS THAN THAT. THE FIRST BLOWOUT WAS AT ABOUT 11000 MILES WHICH IS TOTALLY NOT RIGHT AND I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 50 AND THE SECOND BLOWOUT I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 70 AND AGAIN DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING AND ANOTHER TIRE BLEW. *TR

THE CONTACT KEPT HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM SURGING FORWARD WHILE THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN SHUT OFF. UPON RESTART THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN THREE DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF DIAGNOSING THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 11,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,926.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO KEEP THE ENGINE RUNNING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT A LOW SPEED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,000.
THE DEALER FAILED TO MAKE NECESSARY REPAIRS EVEN WITH SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. THE APPOINTMENT FOR RECALL REPAIR WAS MADE TWO WEEKS AGO AND WAS CONFIRMED TWICE THAT THEY HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS. THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE STARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RACE, SHE STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AGAIN AND TRIED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED BACKWARDS. SHE WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND CONSEQUENTLY, SHE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AND A GROCERY CART. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE PLACED THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AT A HIGH SPEED. SHE FINALLY TURNED THE KEY OFF AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT DID INFORM THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 7,000. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. MY CAR NISSAN SENTRA 2010 BROKE DOWN ON PARKING LOT AT MY WORKPLACE (LACK OF ELECTRICITY) ON NOV 30, 2010. AT THAT TIME I WAS NOT AWARE ABOUT A RECALL FOR POSITIVE CABLE TO CAR'S BATTERY. WITH MY COLLEAGUES AT WORK WE TRIED TO USE JUMPING CABLES TO START THE ENGINE. AFTER UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS CAR WAS TOWED TO KENDRICK'S NISSAN IN LAFAYETTE INDIANA. THE NEXT DAY DEALER'S TECHNICAL ADVISER TOLD ME THAT ECM IS BROKEN AND IT LOOKS THAT I BURNED IT DURING RE-START ENGINE ATTEMPT USING WRONGLY (REVERSING) CABLES. HE ADDED THAT I BROKE A WARRANTY AND I HAVE TO PAY $871 FOR REPAIR. I BELIEVE THAT DIAGNOSIS IS NOT CORRECT AND THAT THE REASON FOR CAR STARTING PROBLEM WAS FAULTY CONNECTION CABLE WHICH COULD ALSO CAUSE SOME OTHER DAMAGES DURING A RE-START ATTEMPT. *TR
I WENT TO SERVICE CENTER SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THEY COULDN'T FIX THESE. WHEN I AM DRIVING MY CAR SLOWLY UNDER 10 MPH, THERE IS NOISE FROM FRONT WHEELS EVERYDAY, IT IS LOUD. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MODERATE INJURIES TO THE BACK AND SEVERE BRUISING OF THE STOMACH. TWO PASSENGERS SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK AND CHEST AS A RESULT. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR BAGS WOULD ONLY DEPLOY DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT OF THE PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. CAR WOULD NOT START. I CALLED DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE RIGHT BATTERY CABLE CONNECTION AND TO JUST TIGHTEN IT. I HAD MY HUSBAND TIGHTEN IT AND IT DID START. THIS HAPPENED TWO ADDITIONAL TIMES AFTER THIS. THANKFULLY MY HUSBAND WAS WITH ME AND HE WAS ABLE TO JGGLE THE CABLE AND WE DID GET THE CAR STARTED. RECENTLY I WAS OUT ALONE SHOPPING LATE AT NIGHT COMING FROM THE MALL AND THE CAR AGAIN WOULD NOT START. HAD MY BROTHER IN LAW COME TO MY RESCUE. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER SHIP TODAY TODAY AND I WAS ASSURED THAT THIS PROBLEM WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. DID SOME FURTHER RESEARCH ON LINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THE RECALL PARTS WONT BE DISTRIBUTED UNTIL 11/29. SO WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO IN THE MEANTIME. ALSO THIS ISSUE CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO STOP SUDDENLY AT LOW SPEEDS AND CAUSE ACCIDENTS NOT TO MENTION DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. I BOUGHT A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA S ON FRIDAY JULY, 2. IT HAD 47 MILES ON IT, 10 OF WHICH I PUT ON DURING A TEST DRIVE. ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, I DROPPED BY THE DEALERSHIP TO COMPLETE THE TRADE-IN, AND MY NEW CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED WHILE I WAS IN THE NISSAN PARKING LOT. AFTER WAITING AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 4 HOURS, I WAS SENT HOME WITH A RENTAL CAR. AFTER A FEW DAYS, THE DEALERSHIP ALERTED ME THAT THE MY ELECTRONIC COMPUTER UNIT FAILED. ON JULY 20, 2010, I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN I WAS REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FORCE OF THE CRASH WAS SUCH THAT THE REAR OF THE CAR I WAS DRIVING SUSTAINED SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS IN DAMAGE. THE FORCE ALSO, PROPELLED ME INTO THE CAR STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME. THE PAPERWORK I RECEIVED FROM BUDGET ALSO STATES THAT THE FEATURES OF THIS NISSAN SENTRA (2010) IS FRONT, REAR AND SIDE AIRBAGS. SINCE ALL OF THE REAR OF THE CAR WAS DESTROYED IT CAN BE SAFELY ASSUMED THAT THE AIRBAG SENSOR SHOULD HAVE BEEN TRIGGERED. IF BOTH FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR DEFINITELY FROM THE FORCE OF MY CAR BEING PROPELLED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS DRIVING ON A WOODED BACK ROAD WHEN AN ANIMAL RAN OUT IN FRONT OF THE CAR. I HIT THE BRAKES HARD ENOUGH TO ENGAGE THE ABS AND COME TO A FULL STOP. IMMEDIATELY AFTER STOPPING I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND STEPPED ON THE GAS. THE CAR ACTED LIKE THE BRAKES WERE STILL APPLIED. I SHIFTED BETWEEN DRIVE AND REVERSE MULTIPLE TIMES IN AN ATTEMPT TO FREE UP THE BRAKES. EVENTUALLY I JUST PRESSED HEAVILY ON THE GAS AND THE CAR BEGAN TO MOVE FORWARD SLOWLY AND GRADUALLY PICKED UP SPEED. AFTER SOME 15-30 SECONDS FOLLOWING PRESSING ON THE GAS, THE CAR RESUMED ACTING NORMALLY. THERE WAS A SECOND INCIDENT ON AN INTERSTATE FREEWAY WHEN THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME SUDDENLY BRAKED HARD. THIS TIME I DID NOT STOP, BUT I FELT THE SAME SENSATION OF THE BRAKES STILL BEING APPLIED. THE NISSAN DEALER HAS REPRODUCED THIS PROBLEM ON MULTIPLE DIFFERENT SENTRAS OF DIFFERENT MODEL YEARS BUT OF THE SAME BASIC GENERATION. NISSAN HAS TOLD ME THAT THE CAR IS WORKING AS DESIGNED AND WILL NOT FIX IT.
