ABOUT HALF-WAY THROUGH A HIGHWAY ROAD TRIP FROM DALLAS TO HOUSTON, MY VEHICLE BEGAN AUTOMATICALLY DECELERATING FROM 85MPH TO 70MPH ALTHOUGH MY FOOT PRESSED HARD ON THE ACCELERATOR. I ACTIVATED CRUISE CONTROL AT 70MPH, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DECELERATE ALTHOUGH CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED AND DISPLAYED BENEATH THE SPEEDOMETER. WHEN THE CAR'S SPEED DROPPED FROM 70MPH TO 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, I TOOK THE NEAREST EXIT IN CENTERVILLE, TEXAS AND STOPPED AT THE GAS STATION TO TURN MY CAR OFF THEN ON AGAIN. THE CAR CONTINUED TO DECELERATE, REACHING ONLY 45MPH AS I ENTERED THE BUSY HIGHWAY YET AGAIN. AFTER 15 MINUTES, THE CAR BEGAN ACCELERATING TO 60MPH. AFTER STRUGGLING WITH THE CAR'S SPEED FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, EVERYTHING RETURNED TO NORMAL AND THE CAR BEGAN ACCELERATING TO 85MPH ONCE AGAIN.
TAKATA RECALL. THE ISSUE I'M HAVING WITH MY NISSAN SENTRA 2012 IS AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR AWHILE NOW. TRAVELING UP TO NV FROM CA, WHEN I REACHED A CERTAIN HILL OF A SLIGHT ALTITUDE DECREASE MY SPEED AUTOMATICALLY FROM GOING 80MPH TO 50MPH ON THE HWY. EVEN PUSHING THE PEDAL TO THE METAL, DOESN'T DO ANY IMPACT AT ALL. HAD TO PULL OVER AND WAIT 30MINS FOR CAR TO REST AND THEN IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL. EVEN WITH DOING A OIL CHANGE AND TRANSMISSION FLUSH, PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T HELP BECAUSE MY WARRANTY JUST RECENTLY WENT OUT WITH NOTHING THEY COULD DO. TALK ABOUT MY LUCK! PLEASE HELP, I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLE AND THIS IS THE OUTCOME I GET?

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

ON MAY THE 12TH 2016 I WAS IN THE NISSAN WITH MY MOTHER AND SISTER ON OUR WAY TO HEMET CALIFORNIA FROM OUR HOME IN LANCASTER. ON HIGHWAY 138 I BEGAN TO HEAR A WEIRD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I ALSO NOTICED THAT I WAS NOT GOING AS FAST AS I SHOULD HAVE BEEN UP A HILL. I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD. I CHECKED THE OIL, WATER, AND IT ALL LOOKED FINE. I WENT BACK IN THE CAR AND CONTINUED MY ROUTE. I GOT ON THE 10 FREEWAY AND EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. NO TRAFFIC AND I'M DRIVING 55 MILES AN HOUR. I PUSH THE GAS PEDAL TO GO FASTER AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THAT IS WHEN I SAW THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE CAR HAD STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL A FEW MORE TIMES AND WHEN NOTHING HAPPENED I STARTED TO PANIC. I GET OVER TO GET OFF OF THE FREEWAY AND NOW MY SPEED IS ABOUT 40MPH. CARS ARE MERGING ON THE FREEWAY BEHIND ME GOING AT LEAST 60. I WAS SO AFRAID THEY WERE GOING TO HIT ME. I SAFELY GOT OFF OF THE FREEWAY AT NORTH UNIVERSITY ST IN REDLANDS CA. I STOPPED THE CAR ON LYTLE ST. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND OPENED THE HOOD AND IT WAS HOT AND SMOKING. I SAT THERE FOR 30 MINUTES WITH MY FAMILY CALLING DRIVETIME AND AEVEREX THE WARRENTY PROVIDER. I WAS SO SCARED AND CONFUSED. AEVEREX TOLD ME THAT THEY WORK WITH PEP BOYS AND I MAY BE COVERED ON GETTING IT FIXED. WITH ONE PEP BOYS BEING JUST 7 MINUTES AWAY. I STARTED THE CAR AND DROVE THERE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON. I DIDN'T NOT LEAVE MY KEY WITH PEP BOYS ON THAT DAY BECAUSE I WAS CONFUSED ON THE WAY AEVEREX WORKED. PEP BOYS OF REDLANDS RECEIVED MY KEY ON 5/14/2016 AND I GOT A CALL LATER THAT DAY FROM STEVE WHO HELPED ME SAYING THAT THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW DRIVETIME COMPLETELY MISSED THAT THIS CAR NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I ONLY HAD IT FOR 6 DAYS!!!!!
THUMPING NOISE FROM LEFT REAR SUSPENSION AT 30MPH ON CITY STREETS
AT 50K MILES AFTER FOUR HOURS DRIVING AT 70MPH THE CAR LOST POWER, RPM NOT MOVING AT ALL WHEN ACCELERATING. AT 67K MILES, THE CAR LOST POWER AGAIN AFTER DRIVING 3 HOURS, GOT CODE P0744 FROM SCANNER. CAR WOULD ONLY 50-60 MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO MOVE FORWARD WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT AND HER DAUGHTER HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO ROCKING NISSAN OF STAFFORD (1 COACHMAN CIR, STAFFORD, VA 22554) AND NISSAN OF ORANGEBURG (2827 ST MATTHEWS RD, ORANGEBURG, SC 29118) ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND BOTH DEALERS WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A TRANSMISSION ISSUE LINKED TO THE RPM'S. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HER THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND THEN WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE. TRIED THEN GOING BACKWARDS AND NOTHING. I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT FORWARD. HOWEVER NO ACCELERATION. NO WARNING SIGNS, CAR HAS BEEN WORKING CORRECTLY SINCE PURCHASED. THE CAR IS WAS PURCHASED IN NOV OF 2011, THIS HAPPENED 3/3/16 LESS THEN 65,000 MILES. I HAVE THE CAR MAINTAINED REGULARLY BY ONLY THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM BRAND NEW. ONLY ISSUE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH THE CAR WAS BEING ADVISED WHILE MAINTENCE THAT THE BATTERY WAS READING DEAD IN THE CAR SO THEY REPLACED IT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT SOUNDS LIKE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND I'M OVER THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY.
BOUGHT THE CAR CERTIFIED USED FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP W/ ROUGHLY 55K MILES ON IT, CVT TRANSMISSION FAILS, HAVE IT REPLACED. THE NEW CVT TRANSMISSION FAILS AGAIN WITH ROUGHLY 55K MILES ON. NISSAN REFUSES TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE TO HELP WITH REPLACING A CVT TRANSMISSION THAT YET AGAIN HAS FAILED.
CAR LEFT RUNNING IN PARKING LOT AFTER GETTING OUT. MY PROBLEM IS DIFFERENT FROM MANY BUT THERE ARE STILL MANY LIKE ME. THE CAR RUNS SO QUIETLY, WHICH IS A PLUS, BUT IN MY CASE IT HAS HAPPENED THAT I LEAVE MY CAR AND IT IS STILL RUNNING AND I DON'T KNOW IT. I HAVE A SEVERE HEARING LOSS AND DEPEND ON VISUAL CLUES. I WISH THERE WERE SOME WAY TO PUT A LIGHT SOMEWHERE TO ALERT ME. I WORRY THAT THE NEXT TIME I WILL LEAVE THE CAR IN MY GARAGE STILL RUNNING AND THEN NEVER WAKE UP THE NEXT MORNING FROM CO POISONING. I AM AN OLDER PERSON AND PRONE TO FORGETTING TO CHECK EVERYTHING BEFORE LEAVING THE CAR. WHAT CAN BE DONE? THIS IS SERIOUS! THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO TIMES IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS.
TAKATA RECALL: I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE "CHECK ENGINE" SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON, AND MY CAR IMMEDIATELY WENT FROM 60PMH TO 20MPH IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT SAME DAY (3 WEEKS AGO). AFTER A DIAGNOSTIC WAS TESTED, THE THROTTLE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, AND IS ON BACKORDER. WHEN I ASKED WHAT THAT MEANT, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALERSHIP REACHED OUT TO CORPORATE (AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR 2 WEEKS) AND COME TO FIND OUT THERE ARE 300 OTHER CASES DEALING WITH THIS SAME PART.
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while leaving the ignition on and exiting the vehicle, the doors would lock independently after closing the door. The contact stated she had to leave a window down to be able to manually open the door from the inside. The contact stated she had experienced the failure on multiple occasions. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer turned off the safety feature that would lock the doors independently within 10 seconds. The contact stated she continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR A WHILE, ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO THE OIL LIGHT CAM ON I FIGURED IT JUST MEANT I WAS RUNNING LOW, I'VE NEVER BEEN IN ACCIDENT BUT SOME HOW MY OIL LINE IS LEAKING
ON CHRISTMAS MORNING, I WENT OUT TO THE PARKED CAR TO DISCOVER AN EXPLODED SUNROOF . TEMPERATURE WAS UNUSUALLY MILD THAT DAY, 75 DEGREES RATHER THAN TEENS OR 20S. NOT SURE IF THE EXPLOSION WAS OVERNIGHT OR IN THE MORNING. THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR ANY DOWNED BRANCHES NEARBY. GLASS BROKE OUTWARD, NOT INWARD.
I WAS DRIVING THROUGH TOWN AND WAS AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. NO WARNING SIGNS. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. IT JUST WOULDN'T GO. TOOK MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REPLACED. NISSAN REFUSES TO ASSIST WITH ANY OF THE COST. IT'S AN AUTOMATIC CVT TRANSMISSION.
I WAS DROPPING OFF MY PASSENGER, I WAS IN DRIVE AND HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, SO THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING, AND HE CLOSED THE DOOR, MAYBE SLAMMED A LITTLE AS HE WAS IN A HURRY TO GET OUT OF THE CAR, AND THEN THE AIR BAGS ON THE ROOF OF THE PASSENGER SIDE DEPLOYED, ALONG WITH THE AIR BAGS TO THE PASSENGER SEAT. I WAS IN SHOCK SINCE I KNOW I'VE SLAMMED MY CAR DOOR BEFORE AND THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS INJURED AND THERE ARE NO DAMAGES TO MY CAR.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR JUST OVER 2 YEARS. I BOUGHT IT USED FOR BUSINESS TRIPS MOSTLY. I DROVE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME ON A LONG DISTANCE BUSINESS TRIP AND 3 HOURS INTO TRIP IT STOPPED ACCELERATING OVER 70 MILES AN HOUR. THIS CONTINUEED THE ENTIRE WAY TO MY FINAL DESTINATION. NO LIGHTS CAME ON, NO SOUNDS OR SMELLS EITHER. ONCE I WAS IN TOWN DRIVING ON NORMAL ROADS IT WAS FINE AGAIN. THEN I DROVE IT BACK HOME, SAME THING HAPPENED BUT MORE EXTREME. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN BOULDER COLORADO. IN DOING SO I FOUND OUT THAT ALL NISSANS HAD A WARRENTY RECALL TO PUT IN A CVT COOLER PART. A FEATURE THAT ALL NISSANS NEED TO INSURE THE POSSIBILTY OF LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL WITHOUT THE TRANSMISSION OVER HEATING AND NOT ACCELERATING PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP THEN INFORMED ME THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED IF I HAD BROUGHT IT IN BEFORE IT WAS OVER 60,000 MILES. NOW THAT IT IS HOWEVR, IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY OVER $800 FOR A PART MY CAR SHOULD HAVE COME WITH. I CALLED NISSAN NOTH AMERICA TO FIND RESALUTION, THEY CLOSED THE CASE AND WILL NOT HELP ME. I FIND THIS EXTREMELY UNEXCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS. AS A SINGLE 31 YR OLD WOMAN, I COULD HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN CORN FIELDS IN THE MIDDLE OF KANSAS IN THE DARK HAD MY TRANSMISSION FAILED UNEXPECTEDLY. I PURCHASED THIS CAR AT 40,000 MILES TWO YRS AGO, IT SHOULD HAVE HAD THAT PART PUT IN BEFORE IT LEFT THE LOT. I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS AND AM HOPING TO FIND SOME SUPPORT IN GETTING NISSAN TO COVER PARTS AND LABOR FOR THIS ISSUE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS AND HOW I SHOULD PROCEED FROM HERE. THANK YOU.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WE OWN A NISSAN SENTRA 2012. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC IN ORDER TO DO AN OIL CHANGE. FIVE BLOCKS BEFORE ENTERING THE MECHANIC SHOP, I HEARD A STRONG METALLIC NOISE ON THE LEFT BOTTOM PART OF MY CAR. I ASKED THE MECHANIC TO CHECK SUCH NOISE. HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE ELECTRIC RACK AND PINION UNIT. IT WAS BROKEN. ACCORDING TO HIM IT IS VERY RARE THAT THIS PART OF THE CAR COULD BE BROKEN IN A 2012 CAR. SINCE HE WARNED ME THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR IN THAT CONDITION?A SERIOUS ACCIDENT COULD HAVE OCCURRED, FOR WHEN IT HAPPENS BOTH FRONT WHEELS WILL ROLL IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS?I ORDERED HIM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT COST ME $ 730. SEEKING SOME EXPLANATION AND SOME COMPENSATORY HELP, I WAS TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND TALKED WITH THE MANAGER?MR. ROURKE. HE TOLD ME THAT MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND THAT HE COULD NOT BE SURE OF THE INCIDENT SINCE I DIDN'T BRING THE CAR INTO HIS PLACE. ALSO, HE TOLD ME THAT IF I HAVE ALWAYS BROUGHT MY CAR INTO HIS PLACE TO MAKE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS, MAYBE I COULD HAVE SAVED MUCH MONEY OR MAYBE NISSAN COULD HAVE DONE IT FREE. THEREFORE, WE WOULD ASK YOU TO CONSIDER SEEKING OR SEARCHING POSSIBLE EVIDENCES TO RECALL THIS CAR OR TO WARN NISSAN SENTRA 2012 OWNERS OF POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING SYSTEM OF THIS CAR. WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND ACCELARATING LESS THAN 1/4 MILE AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND I HAD TO QUICKLY PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AFTER STOPPING AND TRIED TO START AGAIN, AND IT JUST TURNED OVER BUT WOULDN'T STAY STARTED. AFTER ABOUT 3 MINUTES I TURNED THE AC OFF AND TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND IT STARTED. NOW I AM AFRAID THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND I HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN IT'S SAFETY. MY USED CAR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND I AM NOT ABLE TO HAVE THE CAR CHECKED. IT'S BEEN ABOUT A WEEK NOW AND I HAVE NOT HAD IT HAPPEN AGAIN. HOWEVER, NOW THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS COME ON AND I WILL HAVE TO HAVE THAT CHECKED. I HEARD THAT THESE PROBLEMS HAS HAPPENED OTHER 2012 NISSAN SENTRAS, BUT THERE IS NO RECALLED AS OF YET.

THE VEHICLE DRIFTS BOTH DIRECTIONS WHILE DRIVING, WHEN BRAKING IT SERIOUSLY PULLS RIGHT. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR 6 WEEKS AND HAVEN'T HIT ANYTHING YET BUT IF THERE ARE NARROW LANES WITH PARKED CARS I MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY. THERE ARE OTHER PROBLEMS THE HEAT SHIELDS THAT COVER THE EXHAUST COME LOOSE AND THE AIR SENSORS IN THE TIRES LEAK SO YOU NEED TO PUT AIR IN THE TIRES WEEKLY.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY SUNROOF GLASS SHATTERED. NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME AND NOTHING FELL ON IT. THE GLASS SHATTERED FOR NO REASON .
THE BRAKES ON MY 2012 SENTRA STOPPED WORKING, I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE THE PEDAL AT ALL. I WAS TRAVELING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AND HAD TO CUT ACROSS TRAFFIC TO GET INTO THE SAFETY LANE. I HAD TO FULLY RESTART THE CAR IN ORDER FOR THE BRAKES TO REENGAGE. HAD THERE NOT BEEN A CLEAR PATH TO THE SHOULDER LANE I WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO STOP WITH TRAFFIC AND WOULD HAVE HIT SOMEONE AT FULL SPEED. *TR
THE GEAR ON MY CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO "PARK" WHEN I PARKED IN A PARKING SPOT AFTER DRIVING AROUND THE CITY FOR 20 MINUTES. AFTER STRUGGLING AND GROWING CONCERNED AND FRUSTRATED 5 MINUTES LATER, I REPEATED THE PROCESS BUT THE CAR STILL WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO PARK. TEN MINUTES LATER THE GEAR FINALLY SHIFTED INTO PARK WHEN I PARKED THE CAR AGAIN. THE KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION OF A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA UNLESS THE CAR IS IN "PARK" AND TURNED OFF.
I PURCHASE USED CAR FROM 2012 I NEVER EXPECT TO HAVE ANY CAR PROBLEM FOR AT LEAST 4 YRS, BUT THAT WAS NOT MY CASE IN 5 MONTH OF HAVING THE CAR IT STARTED TO GIVE ME PROBLEMS. THE CAR WHEN I TURN IT OFF THE MOTOR WAS STILL RUNNING. FEW DAY AFTER THE MY CAR WOULD NOT START NOT EVEN MANUALLY. I TOLD THAT THE IGNITION WAS NOT WORKING AND THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM LOCK THEREFORE I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN THE CAR ON. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT IN NOVEMBER. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE DRIVER BROKE THEIR NOSE AND THEN FLED THE SCENE. I WAS UNCONSIOUS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN WMTS ARRIVED AND DO TO THE DRIVER FLEEING I WAS CHARGED WITH THE ACCIDENT AND INSURANCE FAILED TO PAY THE SETTLEMENT. ALL ON CLAIMS THAT HAD I BEEN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIRBAG WOULD HAVE WENT OFF. I KNOW THAT NISSAN HAS AIRBAG PROBLEMS ALL AROUND THE YEAR OF MY CAR BUT AM TRYING TO FIND IF ANY OF THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS ARE IN MY CAR AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A NON DEPLOYMENT. IN THE FIRST INCIDENT, I CAME OUT FROM SEEING A MOVIE AND I COULD NOT GET MY CAR OUT OF PARK. A FRIEND CAME TO TRY TO HELP AND GOT IT INTO NEUTRAL BUT IT WOULD NOT SHIFT ANY FURTHER. CAR TAKEN OFF THE ROAD BY NISSAN CORP, BUT NO REPAIRS DONE; AFTER 49 DAYS OUT OF SERVICE, CAR WAS RELEASED TO ME, CONTINUES TO EXHIBIT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. NOW THE STEERING IS EXTREMELY HARD TO OPERATE, AS IF THERE'S NO POWER STEERING IN THE CAR.
