The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the brakes needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the oxygen sensor, rotors, and brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. While driving, the vehicle started to stall. The brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle was slow to respond. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
Daughter described pushing break to the bottom /or floor boards while the car slowly began to slow. Yes, the vehicle is currently available for inspection. An impact occurred to daughter which caused bruising and duress. Another vehicle was struck. No, the problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service ctr. I AM OWNER OF A 2014 NISSAN CENTRA. I STARTED GETTING PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKES. I NOTOCED THAT WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKES, THE PETALS GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. MY CAR ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES. I TOOK IT FOR AN INSPECTION TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER TWICE AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS KIND OF PROBLEM FOR THIS CAR. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS ANYTIME, EITHER WITH THE CAR ON, IN MOTION OR NOT IN MOTION.
ON 7 OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST MONTH ALL 4 BRAKES LOCK UP ON THE CAR AFTER 20-30 MINUTES OF WARNING UP IN NORMAL TRAFFIC. AFTER A PERIOD OF 2 TO 4 HOURS LEAVING THE CAR PARKED AND OFF, THE BRAKES RIGHT THEMSELF. THE NISSAN DEALER CHARGED ME $150 AND SAID THEY CAN NOT FIGURE IT OUT.

"TAKATA RECALL" MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF. I'VE HAD THE SENSOR REPLACED ONCE FOR OVER $350.00 TWO YEARS AGO. HOWEVER, NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS REAPPEARED AND WENT OFF TWICE IN THE PAST 30 DAY. I'VE KEPT UP WITH MAINTENANCE SINCE MY INITIAL PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. FIRESTONE ASKED ME TO CHECK WITH THE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS TO FIND OUT IF THE MASS AIR FLOW IS COVERED UNDER SOME SORT OF WARRANTY BEFORE I PAY THEM TO PERFORM ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY SEE THIS ISSUE OCCURRING IN MANY NISSANS THEY'VE PERFORMED ON.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

EXTRA BRAKING REQUIRED TO COME TO A STOP - THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE BUT SIMILAR TO THE ISSUE REPORTED FOR THE 2013 VERSA. THE BRAKING REQUIRED MOST TIMES TO COME TO A STOP FROM A UNIFORM SPEED CAN VARY AT TIMES SO THAT SIGNIFICANTLY MORE EFFORT TO STOP THE VEHICLE IS NEEDED. EXAMPLE, ON MY NEIGHBOURHOOD STREET, APPROACHING THE STOP SIGN AT 25MPH, NORMALLY VERY LITTLE BRAKING NEEDS TO BE APPLIED. AT TIMES, WE HAVE NOTICED THAT A LOT MORE EFFORT IS NEEDED TO STOP THE VEHICLE EVEN AT SUCH A LOW SPEED. THIS INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE 2 MONTHS SINCE WE'VE BOUGHT THE CAR AND WOULD LEAD TO A CRASH IF THE BRAKING SYSTEM DOES NOT RESPOND IN A UNIFORM WAY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.

THE REAR BRAKES STARTED TO MAKE GRINDING SOUND ONLY GOING 5MPH WITHOUT APPLYING ANY BRAKES. THE NOISE WAS VERY LOUD SO WE TOOK IT TO A CAR SHOP IMMEDIATELY FOR THEM TO INSPECT AND THEY FOUND THAT THE WHOLE DRIVER SIDE REAR DRUM BRAKES HAVE COMPLETELY CAME APART AS THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS CLOSE TO HAPPENING TO. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW THIS WOULD HAPPEN. WE THEN TOOK CAR TO NISSAN DEALER FOR THEM TO INSPECT AND FOR WARRANTY POSSIBILITIES AND THEY CAME BACK SAYING THIS IS. NOT COVERED AS THEY SAY THIS IS. OT A DEFECT AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY CLAIMS REGARDING THIS KIND OF ISSUE AND DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE CAR WAS DRIVING WITH E BRAKE ON BUT OUR MPG HASN'T CHANGED IN ANYWAY. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING ESPECIALLY FOR LESS THAN 1 YR OLD CAR.
TOOK NEW 2014 NISSAN SENTRA IN 2TIMES TO TRI CITIES NISSAN TO BE LOOKED AT AND FIXED WEEK AFTER GOT IT WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE FRONT END SHAKES REAL BAD LIKE TIRES ARE FALLING OFF. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE FRONT END TO SHAKE I ALSO INFORMED THE BRAKES WOULD BE HARD THEN TO THE FLOOR THEY SAID OH ITS FINE. SO I TOOK IT TO THE BRISTOL OFFICE THEY SAID OH NOT GOOD THIS WAS ON FRI SAID BRING IT TO USE TUE WE WILL BRAKE IT DOWN FIND THE PROBLEM WELL AFTER LEAVING DEALERSHIP ON MY WAY TO WORK EVERYONE IN FRONT IF ME LOCKS UP THEIR BREAKS BUT GUESS WHAT I GOT TO DO HIT THE BACK OF A TRUCK AT 37 MILES AN HR. CUZ MY BREAKS DID NOTING WHEN I PRESSED THEM SO THAT GAVE ME A 100 DOLLARS TICKET FOR FOLLOWING TO CLOSE WHEN I REALLY WASN'T I JUST DIDN'T HAVE ANY BREAKS WHICH I ASKED THEM TO CHECK OUT AT NISSAN AND DOESN'T. JUST SAID THEY DID. LIST MY JOB DYE TO MISSING WORK. TWO MINUTES WITHOUT A CAR IM STILL HAVING TO PAY FOR ALL THE MONEY IT COST ME TO GET A RIDE. I COULD OF KILLED SOMEONE OR MYSELF AND CHILDREN. MY BRAKES GO TO THE FLOOR RANDOMLY, SEEMS TO BE FROM PARK TO REVERSE SO FAR. HAVE TO PUMP THEM BACK UP. THE SENTRA HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. AS REPORTED TO THIS AGENCY BACK IN AUGUST 2014, I CONTACTED NISSAN CORP. WHO DID NOTHING. THE SECOND VISIT TO THE DEALERSHIP (OCTOBER 2014) THEY REPLACED THE REAR MASTER CYLINDERS WHICH SEEMED TO WORK UP UNTIL NOW , TOOK VEHICLE BACK IN DECEMBER 2014 AND THEY BLED THE BRAKES, BUT ITS DOING IT AGAIN, AND ON DECEMBER 24TH, WHILE AT A LOCAL BANK DRIVETHRU LANE, STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND NOTHING CAUSING ME TO STRIKE THE CEMENT ABUTMENT AND DAMAGE THE HUBCAP (WHICH THE DEALER REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE). THEN ON DECEMBER 31ST, NEW YEARS EVE, WHILE AT A LOCAL STORE, WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING PLACE, HAD NO BRAKES AGAIN, AND HAD TO PUMP THEM UP. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE NOW, AND WILL BE CALLING DEALER AGAIN, AND CONTACTING NISSAN CORP. IT IS LEASED, AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET RID OF IT NOW BEFORE AN INJURY OCCURS.
