CAR LOST POWER GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. AFTER I STOPPED THEN CAR DID START UP AGAIN. DEALER HAD NO IDEA WHAT COULD BE WRONG. I'VE READ ONLINE ABOUT THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. THIS IS A 2007 NISSAN VERSA SL HATCHBACK. *TR

ON OR ABOUT MARCH 26TH 2009 I REPORTED A COMPLAINT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT A CLUNKING AND KNOCKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END OF THE CAR AND FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL, THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 32,000 MILES AT THE TIME. THIS WAS NOT MY FIRST ATTEMPT TO GET THIS ISSUE LOOKED AT, BUT IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THEY ACKNOWLEDGED A PROBLEM. AFTER AT LEAST 6 TRIPS TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR REPAIR ATTEMPTS, STRUTS, STRUT MOUNTS, STRUT BEARINGS ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE, THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT GO AWAY. THEY EVENTUALLY PLACED LARGE METAL WASHERS BETWEEN THE SUB FRAME AND CROSS BRACE SUPPORT BECAUSE THEY STATED THAT THE SUB FRAME BUSHINGS HAD SAGGED, OR WHERE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED AT THE MANUFACTURER. NOW THE STEERING FEELS LOOSE AND THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT IS IT FEELS AS IF THE STEERING COLUMN IS SEPARATING WHEN TAKING TURNS OVER UNEVEN ROAD SURFACES. *TR
CAR DEVELOPED MAJOR ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS. THIS OCCURRED AFTER A ENGINE WASH. INFORMED BY DEALER THAT MODULE COMPONENTS HAVE TO BE REPLACE AND ALSO WIRING HARNESS. CONNECTORS ON WIRING HARNESS WERE CORRODED. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AFTER ONE WASH WITHIN 3 HOURS OF WASH. ESTIMATED REPAIR $2000.00 AND NISSAN WILL NOT WARRANTY ITEMS. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. HE MAINTAINED REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE AND THE DAY AFTER AN OIL AND FILTER CHANGE WAS MADE, IT SUDDENLY CAUGHT FIRE IN A PARKING LOT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND HAD TO BREAK OPEN THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO DOUSE THE FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED FROM THE FRONT CONSOLE. A REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND CONCLUDED THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS LABELED AS DESTROYED. I OWN A 2007 NISSAN VERSA 4DR SEDAN. THE WINDSHIELD HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK AND THERE APPEARS TO BE NO ROAD HAZARD INVOLVED. AFTER DOING AN ONLINE SEARCH I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHERS REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEFROST SYSTEM DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAST YOU ARE DRIVING. THE SYSTEM CANNOT KEEP WINDOWS FREE FROM FOG AND DURING COLD SPELLS, IT CANNOT KEEP THE FOG OFF THE WINDSHIELD. IT IS SO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THAT I HAVE ACTUALLY HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. NO MATTER THE INTERIOR TEMPERATURE IS SET, WHETHER YOU OPEN THE WINDOW, OR HOW FAST THE BLOWER GOES, NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP SEE. THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO CLEAR MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CHECK FOR CARS IN THE 'BLIND' AREA WHEN CHANGING LANES. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO; I PRAY YOU CAN COME UP WITH A SOLUTION. JUST THINK ABOUT DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ON A COLD DAY OR NIGHT AND BEING ABLE TO SEE FOR A WHILE. 2007 NISSAN VERSA HATCHBACK. WOULD OF BEEN 2 YEARS OLD IN FEBRUARY. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. 11/19 AT 7:25 IN THE MORNING APPROX. MY CAR STALLED TWICE AND THEN THE ENGINE WENT UP IN FLAMES. ENGINE LIGHT AND PS LIGHT CAME ON FEW SECONDS PRIOR TO SHUT OFF. FIRE DEPT. CAME BUT THE WHOLE FRONT / ENGINE HOOD & WINDSHIELD BURNT. *TR
ACCIDENT CAUSED BY NISSAN VERSA AIRBAG DRIVER SIDE, IT WAS THE RUSH HOUR AROUND 5:30PM , AND MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE NISSAN VERSA SUDDENLY THE AIRBAG CAME OUT AND BLEW IT OUT,SHE WAS SCARED SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE CAR SPED UP, AND SHE GRABBED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LEVER, THE CAR STOOPED BUT SHE ALREADY HIT OTHER CAR, SHE HAD TO GO OUT THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR, SHE HAD NO INJURED BUT A MINOR BURNED IN HER FACE FOR THE EXPLOSION OF THE BAG. *TR
THE TPMS SYSTEM IN MY 2007 VERSA HAS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. IT HAS FAILED AND CAME ON WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE FINE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAD ONE TIRE THAT WAS 1LB LOW AND THAT IT WOULD SHUT OFF WITHIN THE NEXT 5 MILES OR SO/. IT DID TO COME BACK ON IN 10 MILES. I HAVE TALKED TO THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY TELL ME THAT THEY WILL PUT IT ON THEIR MACHINE TO TEST IT FOR $45. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2007 NISSAN VERSA SL HATCHBACK IN JULY OF 07. IN MID 08 I STARTED HEARING A KNOCK FROM THE ENGINE. I TOOK IT INTO SEVERAL DEALERS AND NO ONE COULD TELL ME WHAT IT WAS CAUSED FROM. LATE 08 IT STARTED USING OIL AS WELL, AND THE DEALER DID AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST ON IT TO VERIFY THAT IT WAS INDEED USING OIL. THEY TOLD ME THEN THAT IF I CAN PRODUCE ALL MY RECEIPTS FROM WHERE I GOT MY OIL CHANGED THEY WOULD PURSUE IT FURTHER. I HAVE ALWAYS DONE AS MUCH OF MY OWN MECHANIC WORK MYSELF, SO I DO NOT HAVE ANY RECEIPTS. AT THAT POINT THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME TO LOOK INTO MY ENGINE. ALSO, MY AIR PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON IN MID 08, AND THEY ALSO WANT TO CHARGE ME TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM LIGHT KEEPS TURNING ON, EVEN IF ALL THE TIRE PRESSURE ARE WITHIN SPECS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND KNOCKED THE CONTACT UNCONSCIOUS. AS A RESULT, HE STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. BOTH THE DRIVER AND CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT CRANK AT ALL. NISSAN STATED THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK, BUT HE HAS YET TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. PURCHASED CAR JULY 2007. IN SPRING 2008, FUEL PUMP REPLACED DUE TO CAR (A) GETTING POOR GAS MILEAGE (B) TAKING 2-3 CRANKS TO START (C) FEELING LIKE NO POWER WAS GETTING TO THE PEDAL. STARTED HAVING ISSUES AGAIN FEBRUARY 2009. WENT ON A TRIP MARCH 2009 FOR TWO WEEKS. WHEN I RETURNED, THE CAR TOOK 5 MINUTES TO START WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS AFTER CRANKING AT LEAST 5 OR 6 TIMES. TAKING TO THE DEALER NEXT WEEK. TODAY, STARTED FINE, BUT NO POWER BEHIND PEDAL AND POOR MILEAGE. SHOULD HAVE KEPT MY BEAT UP TRUCK, WHICH WAS JUST AS RELIABLE. *TR
01/07/2008, SINGLE CAR ACCIDENT,VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED ON FRONT, REAR AND BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES AND ROLLED OVER TWICE COMING TO REST ON IT'S HOOD. NOT ONE OF THE 3 SAFETY AIRBAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS DEPLOYED AT ANYTIME DURING THE ACCIDENT. *TR

BOUGHT THE CAR IN DECEMBER OF 2007. THIS IS A 2007 NISSAN VERSA AND HAVE BEEN GETTING ONLY ABOUT 22 TO 24 MILES PER GALLON IN TOWN. STICKER SAYS THE CAR GETS 30 MILES PER GALLON IN TOWN. I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN CLOSE TO THAT. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THE AIR INTAKE TEMP WAS 165 DEGREES AND THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR. GAS MILEAGE IS STILL NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE. *TR
I PURCHASED MY NISSAN VERSA JULY 2007. THAT WINTER, I WAS HAVING HARD START ISSUES ON A FULL TANK, THE CAR SEEMED TO BE SLOWING DOWN WHEN I HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS, I WAS GETTING ABOUT 18 MILES TO THE GALLON, AND THE CAR MADE FUNNY NOISES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES. ON THE THIRD VISIT, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FUEL PUMP REGULATOR HAD BEEN RECALLED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS, THE GAS MILEAGE WAS GREAT, AND I HAD NOT PROBLEMS STARTING THE VEHICLE. THEN, I THE NEXT WINTER, I WAS HAVING HARD START PROBLEMS AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT MUST JUST BE THE COLD WEATHER. WELL THIS PAST WINTER, YET AGAIN HARD START ISSUES. I AM ALSO GETTING POOR GAS MILEAGE, SLOWING DOWN WHEN MY FOOT IS ON THE GAS, ETC. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THE TECHNICIAN SAID "OH WELL, YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY...I CAN HELP YOU FIND A GOOD PRICE." I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE ISSUES WITH A NEW CAR. THE SCARIEST PART IS THE SLOWING DOWN WHILE MY FOOT IS ON THE GAS. THIS IS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE WHEN I HAVE IT ON CRUISE CONTROL. *TR
MY SPECIFIC COMPLAINT IS FALSE ADVERTISING. WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NISSAN ADVERTISED THE VEHICLE A VERSA WITH CVT TRANS AS GETTING 30/36 MPG. MY VEHICLE HAS NEVER GOTTEN ANYWHERE NEAR THESE FIGURES. MY LAST FILL UP, MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES WAS 22 MPG. THE SERVICE DEPT. STATES EVERYTHING IS RUNNING CORRECTLY IN THE ENGINE. IT IS FUNNY BUT NOW THE SERVICE DEPT TELLS ME THE MPG IS 28/33 NOT 30/36. I BOUGHT A CAR THAT I THOUGHT WAS GOING TO HAVE GOOD FUEL ECONOMY AND IT IS NOT MUCH BETTER THAN MY SUV. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON MY ROAD I HEARD A LOUDER THAN USUAL EXHAUST NOISE. INSPECTION AT MY HOME REVEALED THE FLANGE ON THE EXHAUST PIPE RIGHT BEFORE THE MUFFLER HAS RUSTED AND COMPLETELY SEPARATED. TAKING IT TO MUFFLER SHOP TO HAVE A NEW PIPE WELDED ON WHERE SEPARATION OCCURRED. APPROXIMATE COST WAS QUOTED AT $100.00. I HAVE READ OF NUMEROUS NISSAN VERSA AND NISSAN MURANO OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
I HAD PURCHASED A NEW 2007 VERSA FROM STAR NISSAN ON 9/22/07. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER, I FOUND OUT THE CD PLAYER WAS NON-FUNCTIONAL. A DAY OR TWO LATER, I REALIZED I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING THE CAR. ON 9/26, I BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I WAS TOLD ON 9/27 THAT IT HAD A FAULTY FUEL PUMP AND THAT THE PART THEY NEEDED WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL 10/10/07. OBVIOUSLY, IT IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR ME TO BE WITHOUT MY BRAND NEW CAR FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. *TR
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW NISSAN VERSA IN AUGUST AND THE MILEAGE STATED ON THE CAR WAS 35/28. THE CAR IS ONLY GETTING 27/17 WHICH IS VERY POOR AND THE DEALER STATES THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. I JUST BOUGHT A NISSAN VERSA 2007 SIX MONTHS AGO AND TODAY WHEN I WAS COMING FROM LUNCH AND WAS IN THE PARKING LOT TRYING TO PARK AND WAS DRIVING AT THE SPEED OF 6 MPH. THREE WEEKS AGO, I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 NISSAN VERSA. SINCE MAKING THE PURCHASE, I HAVE HAD PERIODIC PROBLEMS WITH STARTING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I TURN THE KEY, THE VEHICLE FREQUENTLY CRANKS FOR 5+ SECONDS. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WILL THEN START, AND SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST DIE. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME THAT I START THE VEHICLE, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETECT ANY PATTERN TO HELP INDICATE WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR SERVICE SO FAR, AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE OR EVEN IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND VARIOUS ACCOUNTS OF OTHER VERSA OWNERS DETAILING SIMILAR EXPERIENCES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN VERSA. ON AUGUST 1, 2007, THE CONTACT RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE NUMBER 07V094000 FOR THE SEAT BELTS. SHE FELT THAT THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANY RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS ADVERTISED AS BEING SAFE. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,344.
BOUGHT 2007 NISSAN VERSA IN JULY 07. FUEL DOOR WAS NOT CONNECTED AT PURCHASE TIME. DEALER RECONNECTED BUT IT BECAME DISCONNECTED AGAIN IN MARCH 09. SIMPLE TO RECONNECT BUT A PAIN TO HAVE TO KEEP DOING IT. *TR
SOON AFTER OUR PURCHASE, 6/07, THE LIGHT CAME ON, ITS BEEN BACK TO MANY DIFFERENT DEALERS OVER A DOZEN TIMES,,.IT CANNOT BE DISCONNECTED, DISENGAGED. REPROGRAMMING IS ONE OPTION, REPLACING AT $150/VISIT PER WHEEL IS THE OTHER OPTION. WE HAVE HAD BOTH ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. OUR PROBLEM IS, THAT THE SENSOR WHEN IT FAILS, TELLS THE TIRE TO REDUCE PRESSURE. A PERFECTLY GOOD TIRE FILLED WITH 37 PSI WILL IN 24 HOURS COME DOWN TO 20 PSI... THIS IS A DISASTER AND I AM SURPRISED THERE HAS BEEN NO CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS... I HAVE SPENT TIME AND MONEY, REPLACED TIRES TO PROVE THE POINT, AND AFTER ALMOST 6 YEARS AM READY TO GIVE UP... SOMETHING SO SIMPLE AND STUPID CANNOT BE FIXED OR REMOVED.. NISSAN DEALERS BLAME IT ON POT HOLES, CORROSION, OR BAD MANUFACTURED TIRES. THE FOREMAN STATED IT COULD BE STEERING BUT SINCE IT IS ELECTRIC AND DOES NOT HAVE POWER STEERING. SHE DOES NOT KNOW IF THAT IS THE REASON THE VEHICLE IS VEERING TO EITHER THE RIGHT OR LEFT. THE CONSUMER STATED FEELS UNSAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND PROVIDED EMAILS FROM OTHER CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME DEFECT. THE CONSUMER ALSO PROVIDED A COPY OF THE REPAIR INVOICE. UPDATED 07/31/07 *TR

ABOUT APRIL 8 2007 9 DAYS WHILE PURCHASING THIS CAR I REPORTED A COMPLAINT TO THE LOCAL BAYRIDGE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT A CLUNKING AND KNOCKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END OF THE CAR AND FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL, THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 200 MILES AT THE TIME. AFTER AT LEAST 12/15 TRIPS TO VARIOUS SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR REPAIR ATTEMPTS,RIGHT AXLE, STRUTS, STRUT MOUNTS, STRUT BEARINGS ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE, THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT GO AWAY. THEY EVENTUALLY PLACED LARGE METAL WASHERS BETWEEN THE SUB FRAME AND CROSS BRACE SUPPORT BECAUSE THEY STATED THAT THE SUB FRAME BUSHINGS HAD SAGGED, OR WHERE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED AT THE MANUFACTURER. NOW THE STEERING FEELS LOOSE AND THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT IS IT FEELS AS IF THE STEERING COLUMN IS SEPARATING WHEN TAKING TURNS OVER UNEVEN ROAD SURFACES.THEY HAVE CHANGED RIGHT AXLE MANY TIMES BUT NO USE , NISSAN NORTH AMERICA REPRESENTATIVE MR JUSTIN HALL REVIED CASE 3 TIMES COULD NOT FIX THE VEHICLE FROM HIS MECHANIC SEND BY NISSAN . SKID MARKS FROM 120 FEET AT 50 MPH IMPACTED VEHICLE AT 35 MPH. DRY CONDITIONS SUNNY DAY. 65 FAHRENHEIT.
