FIRST TIME VEHICLE HAD JUST STARTED AND STEERING AND BRAKES WERE LOCKED. CAR WAS SHUT DOWN AND STARTED AGAIN AND IT WAS OK. THE SECOND TIME VEHICLE WAS PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY INTO STREET AND BRAKES AND STEERING LOCKED UP. EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE USED. MY 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER DRIVES VEHICLE AND I DRIVE ON FREEWAY TO WORK. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY OR ANYWHERE IN TRAFFIC SERIOUS INJURY MAY RESULT. THIS MODEL IS KNOWN FOR FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS BUT NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED. I AM TAKING IT TO DEALER METRO NISSAN REDLANDS, CA. ON 8/24/19.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DISABLED LIGHT INADVERTENTLY REMAINED LIT, & THE RED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON INDICATING THE CAR'S AIRBAG SYSTEM IS DISABLED COMPLETELY. CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON SECONDARY ROADS WHEN CONDITION OCCURRED.
PREVIOUSLY, THE TRANSMISSION OF MY VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED WHEN THE MOTHERBOARD OF A TAIL LAMP MALFUNCTIONED. I WAS INFORMED BY THE NISSAN SERVICE AGENT THAT THIS CAUSED A SIGNAL TO BE SENT TO THE TRANSMISSION THAT INDICATED THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE GOING IN REVERSE. THIS CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO FALTER AND THE CAR STUTTERS AND/OR STALLS WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE LOOKED UP A FEW ACCIDENTS, WHICH APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A FAILURE TO ACCELERATE, BUT NO ONE HAS LOOKED INTO THE TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLY, BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD THINK IT WOULD HAVE AN IMPACT. I HAVE ALSO SPOKEN WITH AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING EXPERT WHO STATED THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS TO IMPACT THE TRANSMISSION, SINCE THE BULK OF THE WIRING IS HOOKED UP TO IT INSTEAD OF THE BATTERY. NOW MY CAR IS ONCE AGAIN EXPERIENCING THIS POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING ISSUE. HOWEVER, WHILE IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE, THERE ARE NO RECALLS OR REPAIR TICKETS FOR THE TAIL LAMPS WHICH CAUSE THE PROBLEM. IN NEWER TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLIES, THE ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED. HOWEVER, THE ORIGINAL MOTHERBOARDS WITH THE 2014 NISSAN VERSA BODY STYLE CAN START TO MALFUNCTION AT ANY TIME.
ON 7-20-19 HAD A BLOWOUT ON REPLACEMENT TIRE THAT WAS INSTALLED ON 7-17-19. BLOWOUT OCCURRED WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 60 MPH. TIRE BRAND NEXEN NPRIZ AH5. TIRES WERE NOT O YOUR LIST FILED AS N5000 TIRE LINE.
TIRE PURCHASED FROM DEALERSHIP 1 YEAR AGO, TIRE TREAD SEPARATED, NEARLY CAUSING BLOWOUT, WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY. HAD I NOT TAKEN PRECAUTIONS I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. PRECAUTIONS TAKEN DUE TO ON THE JOB SAFETY PROFESSIONAL DRIVING SKILLS. TIRES ARE CALLED NEXEN AND ARE SOLD BY NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. DOT # DOT8ELX
WHILE RUNNING ERRANDS MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO HOBBLE AND SHAKE ON THE HIGHWAY IN MOTION AT 60MPH. THIS WAS DUE TO TIRE TREAD SEPARATION. TOOK THE VEHICLE AND TIRE TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD TIRE COULD BE REPLACED AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE TO PURCHASE, A/K/A ME. DEALERSHIP IS ED HICKS NISSAN IN CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS.
TAKATA INFLATORS. NOT REALLY SURE IF IT'S CORRECTLY DONE. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR I STARTED SMELLING BURNING WIRES. AFTER SMELLING THAT, THE AIR-CONDITIONING/FAN STOPPED BLOWING. NO HEAT, NO AIR-CONDITIONING, NO FAN, NO DEFROST. I PULLED INTO A HAD STATION AND CUT EVERYTHING OFF AND SEEN SMOKE COMING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. I POPPED THE HOOD AND SEEN ABOUT WHERE THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM AND SEEN THAT THERE WERE WIRES INFACT THAT WERE BURNT.
MY VEHICLE IS AT 95,000 MILES, AND THE RPM HAS BEGUN FLUCTUATING WHEN IT SHOULDNT BE. AT IDLE POWER, IT TENDS TO STAY AROUND 1,500-1,800 RPM WHEN IT SHOULD BE BETWEEN 700-1,300 RPM. ON THE ROAD, AND ON THE HIGHWAY, THE RPM BOUNCES ERRATICALLY, AND THE AUTOMATIC CVT TRANSMISSION SHIFTS CONSIDERABLY HARD BETWEEN GEARS WHEN MY SPEED DRIFTS BETWEEN 25-45 MPH AND SOMETIMES NEAR HIGHWAY SPEED. HARDER THAN IT USED TO. I HAVE TO APPLY EXTRA BRAKING TO STOP MY CAR WHEN AT STOP SIGNS OR TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR PARKING. TURNING DOES FINE, THOUGH THE ENGINE DRIVES HARDER THAN IT SHOULD DUE TO THE HIGHER RPMS. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING UP WHAT CAUSES THIS, AND EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING SAYS MY TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS SHOULDN'T BE FAILING BEFORE 100,000 MILES. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO LOADS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN NISSANS WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS. AND I BELIEVE AN INVESTIGATIOM BY THE NHTSA IS WARRANTED. AS WELL AS A RECALL BY NISSAN TO FIX THIS ISSUE THAT HAS APPARANTLY BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW YEARS.
I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2018 AT OVER 72K AND IT IS NOW 94K, THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD NOW. EVERYTIME I HIT THE GAS, THE RPM JUMPS UP TO 4000-5000. EATS UP ALL THE GAS QUICKLY. SOMETIMES IT WOULD SHAKE WHEN I LET GO OF THE GAS PEDAL. IT STARTED JULY 2019 AND PER MECHANIC, I WILL NEED TO GET RID OF THE CAR.
WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION THE BRAKES WILL NOT WORK AND IT SLIDES. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON AND THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPS. I'VE HAD 2 MECHANICS LOOK AT IT AND THEY SAY ITS BECAUSE THE AXLE NUT BACKS OFF. TOOK IT TO GUNTER NISSAN ON 6/6/19 AND THEY REFUSED TO SERVICE IT SAYING I HAD TO CONTACT NISSAN CORPORATE BUT NISSAN CORPORATE SAYS I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP.
AROUND 65,000 MILES I STARTED HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE CTV / AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE CAR SOMETIMES JERKS/SHAKES AS I ACCELERATE AND TAKES LONGER THAN IT USED TO TO SPEED UP. THIS HAS PUT ME IN IMMEDIATE DANGER SEVERAL TIMES - FOR EXAMPLE, SWITCHING LANES ON THE HIGHWAY, I CAN NO LONGER BE CERTAIN THAT I WILL SWITCH LANES IN TIME FOR THE OTHER CARS NOT TO HIT ME. I TOOK THIS CAR TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID IT MAY BE MY TRANSMISSION FLUID - I GOT THE FLUID CHANGED IN AN OFFICIAL NISSAN SHOP IN NORWELL, MA. THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED - AND WHEN I CALLED THE NISSAN SHOP AGAIN, THEY SAID IF THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON, THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THE ISSUE HAS NOT RESOLVED AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO HELP.
I ALMOST DIED. T HE TRANSMISSION IS TRASH. WHEN THE CAR COMES TO STOP AND HIT THE PEDAL THE CAR DOESN'T MOVE AND WHEN IF FINALLY ACCELERATES KEEPS SHAKING AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND JERKS.
"TRANSMISSION" I HAD NO AWARENESS OF MY CAR HAVING PROBLEMS BUT ALWAYS KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG IT WOULD DO THIS JERKING MOTION OR ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN AND WHEN IT STALLED ON MY WHEN I PUSHED ON THE GAS THE MECHANIC TOLD MY MY TRANSMISSIONS SHOT AND THAT NISSAN HAD A RECALL ON TRANSMISSIONS. I ALWAYS KEPT MY CAR UP TO DATE AND ROUTINELY CHECKED. ITS ONLY A 2014.
TAKATA RECALL KEY WON'T TURN TO START ENGINE. STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED. CAR WAS PARKED AT GAS PUMP. PUMPED GAS. THEN KEY WOULDN'T TURN. I WIGGLED AND WIGGLED AND JERK ON STEERING. FINALLY IT STARTED. THEN IT DID IT AGAIN LATER THAT NIGHT. ON SUNDAY I TRIED IT AGAIN. KEY WILL NOT TURN TO START. STEERING IS LOCKED. PARKED
CAR WAS STUDDERING. GRADUALLY GOT WORSE .WOULD HESITATE WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP DONT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN T- BONED. NOW TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY BLOWN. PAID 12K FOR A CAR SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY BECAUSE I DONT HAVE A FEW GRAND LAYING AROUND
AROUND 68000 MILES, I FIRST NOTICED PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION. IT WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY, REVVING HIGH AND I OFTEN HAD TO MANIPULATE THE GAS PEDAL TO GET THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT UP. KEEP IN MIND, THIS VERSA IS EQUIPPED WITH A CVT, THUS THIS TRANSMISSION IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE VERY GRADUAL "GEAR" CHANGES. I THEN STARTED TO NOTICE THAT SOMETIMES, WHEN ACCELERATING, THE CAR WOULD SOMETIMES JOLT AROUND BEFORE IT GOT UP TO SPEED. THIS JOLTING OCCURRED AT RED LIGHTS, FREEWAY ON-RAMPS, ETC. NISSAN'S WARRANTY EXPIRES 60,000 MILES, AND I NEVER EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEMS BEFORE 60,000 MILES, HOWEVER TRANSMISSIONS SHOULDN'T DIE AFTER 68,000 MILES, LIKE MINE WAS GOING TO. I INITIALLY TOOK MY CAR IN AROUND 68,000 MILES TO HAVE THE TECHNICIANS LOOK FOR THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY CLAIMED THEY COULDN'T RECREATE THE ISSUE. THEN, I TOOK MY TRANSMISSION IN FOR ROUTINE TRANSMISSION FLUID EXCHANGE SERVICE AT AROUND 71,000 MILES, AND THE TECHNICIANS NOTICED SHAVINGS IN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CATCH PAN. THIS IS WHEN THEY FINALLY NOTICED THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACING. THIS IS ABOUT A $5,000 REPAIR. LUCKILY, I HAD MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN INSURANCE FROM MY AUTO INSURANCE, THUS I WON'T NEED TO PAY THAT FULL COST, BUT IF I HADN'T HAD THAT, I WOULD HAVE A CAR THAT WOULD BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ON ROADWAYS.
MY CARE WAS SHUTTERING AND NOT SHIFTING UP AND DOWN AS SHOULD. THE CAR WOULD SHAKE AND PAUSE AT TAKE OFF. COULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY OR SAFELY TO GET ON HIGH WAYS OR ON NORMAL ROADS. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT SEEMS TO WANT TO SHUT OFF AT TIMES AND PAUSES WHEN ACCELERATING THE GAS PEDAL. VERY DANGEROUS AND THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT GOOD. I TOOK IT TO DEALER JANUARY 2018 AND IT WAS REPROGRAMMED BUT IT WENT RIGHT BACK TO DOING THE SAME, SLIPPING,SHUTTERING SHAKING,PAUSING DURRING ACCELERATING, ON HIGHWAY, DURING TURNS AND GOING FROM COMPLETE STOP, AND WHILE DRIVING ON CITY ROADS. TOOK BACK TO DEALER HAD DIAGNOSED AND ITS SAID TO NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO FIX THEIR DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSION.. THE CAR HAS HAD IT'S NORMAL SERVICES.
I STARTED THE CAR AND WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC, AND WAS TOLD #P0757 TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION ( P R N D L INPUT) # P0705 PARK/NETURAK S/W.
EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH CVT TRANSMISSION WHEN DRIVING. TRANSMISSIONS 'JERKS', 'KNOCKS', 'PULLS',
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN NOVEMBER OF 2018. I NOTICED AT THE END OF JANUARY 2019 THAT THE VEHICLE WAS HAVING PROBLEMS 'SHIFTING' GEARS, ACCELERATING AND THE RPMS WOULD REV, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. IT TUGGED, AND JERKED. I TOOK IT TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN FEBRUARY 2019. I WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES SHOWING UP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AND I QUOTE 'TOTALLY FINE AND SAFE TO DRIVE. THEN ON MARCH 28, 2019 THE VEHICLE STARTED HAVING WORSE ACCELERATION ISSUES, THIS TIME ALSO AT SLOWER SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL OUT AND NOT ACCELERATE AFTER COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. NO ERROR LIGHTS WERE PRESENT. IT WOULD KEEP JERKING, AND TUGGING. A LOUR WHIRLING NOISE WAS ALSO HEARD. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP, THE NEXT DAY THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS BLOWN, AND WOULD NEED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $4200 TO REPAIR. I PAID $5600 CASH FOR THIS VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER 2018.
VEHICLE IS TUGGING AND MISFIRING. VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE EFFICIENTLY FROM A START POSITION OR WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN REACHING AROUND 20 MPH THE RPM'S INCREASE AND DO NOT COME DOWN. I NEED TO SWITCH THE CAR TO NEUTRAL FOR IT TO SWITCH GEARS. BUT THEN AT AROUND 50-60 MPH THE RPM'S DO NOT DROP AND THE CAR STARTS TUGGING AND MISFIRING. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY AND BECOMES WORSE WHEN DRIVING IN HIGHWAYS OR FREEWAYS.
ON THE MORNING OF MARCH 4TH 2019, AFTER EXISTING THE EXPRESS WAY MY VEHICLE SEEMED TO SLOW DESPITE BEING ON THE ACCELERATOR. AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT, AND I BEGAN TO PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR WOULD ONLY ROLL. THE VEHICLE HAD LOST POWER AND WAS AT A SLOW ROLL. I CONTINUED TO PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR AT IT WAS AS IF THE CAR WAS DEAD. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND I SENT THE CAR TO THEM ON A FLATBED ON TUESDAY. AFTER A DAY I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND WHAT HAD CAUSED THE MALFUNCTION. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT THAT SENT A SIGNAL SAYING 'I WAS ON THE BREAK AND NOT THE GAS". ON PICKING UP THE VEHICLE I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MECHANIC, I EXPRESSED MY CONFUSION BECAUSE THERE WERE NO INDICATION OF AN INOPERATIVE LIGHT BULB OR AN INDICATOR IN THE VEHICLE TO SUBSTANTIATE ANY FAILURE. I WAS TOLD "THERE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ANY WARNING OR INDICATION" BY THE MECHANIC. I CONTACTED NISSAN, A REPRESENTATIVE FOLLOWED UP AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME AFTER TALKING TO THE REPAIR SERVICE. WHEN THEY DID CONTACT ME AGAIN REGARDING MY CONCERNED ALL I WAS TOLD IS THAT THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED. I RAISED THE QUESTION OF HOW CAN A VEHICLE LOSE POWER AND COME TO A STOP WITHOUT NO INDICATION AND I WAS TOLD "THEY DON'T HAVE THE ANSWERS". THE CAR MALFUNCTION PUT MY LIFE IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NISSAN HAVE NEGLECTED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE VEHICLE IS FAULTY.
WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN ON BUSY STREET THE TRANSMISSION STARTED NOT CHANGING AND WAS WIZZING WOULD NOT PICKUP SPEED THEN IT JUST STOPPED IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON PARKWAY IT STARTED LOSING POWER. AS I WAS DRIVING, THE ENGINE WOULD REV BUT IT WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED. THEN AS I WAS DRIVING UP THE HILL TO MY HOUSE THE CAR STOPPED MOVING, BUT IT WAS STILL ON. NOW THE CAR JERKS AS UR DRIVING AND WILL NOT PICK UP SPEED.
THE TRANSMISSION DOES WANT TO CHANGE FROM FIST TO SECOND , VERY HIGH RPMS AND I HAVE TOO LET OFF THE GAS AND IT CHANGES BUT NOT VERY SMOOTH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, IT FAILED TO RESTART; HOWEVER, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS STILL OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHEN PUT IN PARK AND KEY OUT OF IGNITION THE CAR WILL NOT SHUT OFF. THE CAR CONTINUES TO RUN FOR HOURS. IT WILL EVENTUALLY RUN OUT OF GAS AND HOPEFULLY SHUT OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DRIVE AND THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION NISSAN PEMBROKE PINES (LOCATED AT 8890 PINES BLVD, PEMBROKE PINES, FL 33024, (954) 949-0421) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT AWARE OF THE RESULTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

THE DRIVER COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT FAILED TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND WAS LATER TAKEN TO CARMAX (LOCATED AT 6100 AUTO CENTER DR, BUENA PARK, CA 90621, (714) 523-2667). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 34146914. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
FIRS TIME THAT I MOVE MY REAR BACK SEATS TO THE FRONT TO MAKE IT FLAT AND WHEN I PUT MY SIT BELT WAS BEHIND I TRY TO PULL THE LOCK TO MOVE THE SEAT AND IS NOR WORKING DOESN'T UNLOCK. NOW MY SEATBELT IS STOCKED IN THE BACK FOREVER... WRONG CAR WRONG CHOICE.
MY CAR JERKS WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE. ALSO, WHEN I LET PUSH FOR THE GAS, IT JERKS. THIS IS WHEN I FIRST GET OFF THE GAS. THEN WHEN I GET TO FOURTY MILES, IT JERKS AGAIN. MY MALFUNCTION LAMP LIGHT COMES ON. I TOOK IT AT ONE OF THE AUTO ZONES IN FAYETTEVILLE NC. THE ASSOCIATE CHECK IT WITH A MACHINE. IT CAME UP P285A CLUTCH B PRESSURE DISENGAGEMENT PERFORMANCE. THEN, I TOOK IT TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. HE CHECKED IT WITH HIS MACHINE, HE SAID IT IS MY TRANSMISSION. I FEEL NISSAN SHOULD FIX MY TRANSMISSION.
WHILE DRIVING MY NISSAN VERSA I NEED TO LET IT WARM UP COMPLETELY. WHEN I SAY COMPLETELY I MEAN WAIT ABOUT 10-15 MIN BEFORE DRIVING OFF. IF I DO NOT MY CAR WILL STALL WHEN I PRESS THE BREAKS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY MANY TIMES. SOME TIMES IT DOESNT BUT NOW THAT IT IS COLDER WEATHER IT DOES IT MORE OFTEN. IF I DO LEAVE BEFORE IT WARMS UP I EXPECT IT TO STALL AT THE STOP SIGN, LIGHT, TURN, OR TRAFFIC. I USUALLY HAVE TO KICK IT INTO PARK TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. I WILL DO THIS MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL ITS WARMED UP. SOMETIMES IT WONT EVEN WANT TO WORK AGAIN UNTIL ITS WARMED UP SO SOMETIMES IM JUST STUCK IN TRAFFIC OR THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TODAY MY CAR DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES. I WORK ONLY ABOUT 7 MILES FROM MY HOUSE AND IT STALLED 5 TIMES.
ENGINE STALLS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. STUCK IN GEARS.
CVT NOT SHIFTING INTO LOWER GEAR AT HIGH RPMS.
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING HOME AFTER BUYING GROCERIES, WE WERE IN A VERY BUSY STREET, WHEN THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS SINCE THERE WAS PEOPLE BEHIND US AND NEXT TO US. IT WAS HARD TO MOVE TO PULL OVER. FINALLY WE LEARNED OUR TRANSMISSION (CVT) WAS BROKEN. THIS WILL COST US ALMOST AS MUCH AS WE PAID FOR THE CAR. ALL THIS HAPPENED AS WE REACHED 65,000 MILES. AND CONVENIENTLY ENOUGH, THE WARRANTY ONLY COVERS UP TO 60,000.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITH ONLY 67,000 MILES ON THE CAR. COULD HAVE CAUSED A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM IF I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY. IF NISSAN IS KNOWINGLY SELLING CARS WITH DEFECTIVE OR SUBSTANDARD COMPONENTS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED.
THE DESIGN OF THE WINDSHIELD TO THE DOORS IS HAZARDOUS AS IT LIMITS VISIBILITY. ALSO THE BACK IS LIMITED AS WELL. I WAS BROADSIDED OR SIDESWIPED AND IT WAS NOT MY FAULT YET THE WAY THEY WROTE THE REPORT PUT ME AT FAULT.
THIS VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT FOR MY COLLEGE-AGED DAUGHTER TO DRIVE TO WORK AND SCHOOL. SHE WAS STRANDED IN NORTH CAROLINA WHEN THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE REVVED HIGH AND THE CAR "JUST DIED." I MANAGED TO GET IT BACK TO TENNESSEE AND DROVE IT MYSELF. WHILE TURNING LEFT ACROSS TRAFFIC, THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. IF IT HAD BEEN A BUSY TIME OF DAY, THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC FOR MY FAMILY. I HAD MY MECHANIC OF 30 YEARS LOOK AT THE CAR, HE SAYS IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. "MIGHT CAN DRIVE IT FOR A WHILE BUT I WOULDN'T LET YOUR DAUGHTER GET IN IT." THIS CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION??? PLUS IT IS A DEATH TRAP FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO IS A YOUNG DRIVER? I NEED SOME ADVICE FOR THIS PLEASE.

NISSAN NORTH AMERICA IS RECALLING 14,595 VEHICLES, INCLUDING THE 2014 NISSAN VERSA SEDAN, BECAUSE THE ENGINE MAY SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME LIKE 10 TIMES... I WAS DRIVING IN CITY TRAFFIC AND IT WOULDN'T STAY RUNNING. IT KEPT TURNING OFF. I WAS AFRAID I HAD TO MUCH GOING ON WIL THEPOWER LIKE A POWER DRAIN SO I TURNED OFF MY RADIO AND LIGHTS AND MADE IT HOME.
THIS VEHICLE WENT FROM 60 MPH TO LESS THAN 30 WITH THE RPMS OVER 5000 ON THE ROBERT F KENNEDY BRIDGE. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE FAST THINKING PERSON BEHIND HER THIS WOULD'VE RESULTED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO GO OVER 30 WITH THE RPMS OVER 5000 ALL THE WAY TO LONG ISLAND. TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND IT IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION SHE NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION HER VEHICLE IS LESS THAN TWO YEARS OLD THAT SHE HAS HAD IT SHE BOUGHT IT WITH 51,000 MILES ON IT IT NOW HAS 75,100 MILES ON IT THE DEALER WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE BAD TRANSMISSION THEY WANT US TO PAY OVER $2000 TO FIX. THEY WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX IT AND LESS WE COME UP WITH $2000 THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSAN AND THERE'S CVT TRANSMISSIONS CAN YOU HELP THE CAR IS STILL SITTING AT NISSAN BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY NOR WOULD WE EXPECTING TO HAVE TO COME UP WITH THIS LARGE SUM

I WAS REACHING FOR SOMETHING IN MY GLOVE BOX WITH MY SEAT BELT FASTENED WHEN MY BELT BROKE AT THE CONNECTION TO THE FRAME. IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS JUST GLUED AND THE GLUE CAME LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT THE TIME.
THE LIGHT IN THE DASH GOES ON AND OFF THE AIRBAG COMPONENT IS NEEDED
BOUGHT THE 2014 NISSAN VERSA IN 2013. TOOK GOOD CARE OF IT. HAD 72,000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT IN EARLY SEPT. 2018. MANY OF THE MILES WERE SMALL TRIP HIGHWAY MILES, NOT EVEN CITY MILES. NISSAN DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP. RATHER THAN PUT THE $3,880.00 INTO IT I TRADED IT IN. I EXPECTED IT TO LAST ANOTHER 5 YEARS AND FEEL NISSAN SCREWED ME, AND FROM WHAT I AM NOW HEARING, A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE TOO.
CAR HAS A LITTLE LESS THAN 35000 MILES. THE CAR HAS TERRIBLE PROBLEMS ENGAGING ANY GEAR. TRANSMISSION IS WASTED. I WAS GOING TO CAMBRIA FROM ORANGE COUNTY. I FELT THE CAR A LITTLE WEIRD ARRIVING IN CAMBRIA, BUT IT STILL RUINED. AS I WAS COMING TO ORANGE COUNTY, THE CAR ABANDONED ME IN THE FREEWAY. I HAD TO TAKE IT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND DRIVE THROUGH STREETS TO MY HOUSE. CAR IS BROKEN.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEM: I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW FOR MY DAUGHTER JULY 2013. LAST YEAR IT STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS SHIFTING GEARS. THIS YEAR THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE. WE RECEIVED A RECALL CARD IN THE MAIL STATING TO BRING IT IN TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION. THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR REPROGRAMMING THE COMPUTER. AFTER BRINGING IT IN, THE CAR SHUT DOWN ON HER AS SHE WAS DRIVING HOME. I'M THANKFUL WE LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN. I CALLED NISSAN'S CORPORATE OFFICE TO COMPLAIN. A REPRESENTATIVE NAMED PATRICK (615) 725-7359 WAS ASSIGNED MY COMPLAINT.. HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. I STILL HAVE A YEAR LEFT TO PAY FOR THE CAR. NISSAN DEALERSHIP CHARGED $2990 TO FIX THE CAR. I HAVE READ SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION IN THESE CARS AND SAFETY HAZARDS. NOTHING IS BEING DONE!!
THIS CAR HAS ONLY 34,000 MILES ON IT AND THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS COME AND IS FLASHING CONSTANTLY ... GIVEN THE MILEAGE OF THE CAR I WAS SHOCKED AND AMAZED THAT I WOULD BE HAVING A PROBLEM. OTHER PROBLEM I'VE HAD IS THAT IT HAS STALED OUT A COUPLE OF TIMES FOR NOT REASON AT ALL WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO THE ROAD.
