JUST RECENTLY I HAD MY PONTIAC, 2006, G-6 REPAIRED AT THE CHEVY DEALER. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY FUEL LEAK UNTIL THE WERE GOING TO DROP THE FUEL TANK. THERE THEY FOUND THE FUEL LEAK. THEY REMOVED THE FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED A NEW FUEL PUMP. I HAD CALLED GM PONTIAC TO CHECK ON THE PONTIAC, 2006 G-6 RECALL. THEY SAID THERE ARE NO PONTIAC G-6 RECALLS. I TOLD THEM THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE 2006 PONTIAC STATING THAT THE FUEL PUMP LEAKS. ACCORDING TO AIRTEC THEY DID A RECALL ON THEIR FUEL PUMPS MODEL NO. E3591M. THIS PUMP LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE PUMP THEY TOOK OUT. THEY STATED THE FUEL PUMP SEAL WILL LEAK GAS.
MY CHILD WENT TO PULL AWAY FROM THE GAS PUMP AND THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NOT MOVE, SHE STATED THAT SHE COULD NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL
POWER STEERING CAME ACROSS THE RADIO AND HARD TO STEER AFRAID TO LET MY FAMILY RIDE IN A CAR THAT ITS HARD TO STEER HAD THE RECALL DONE IN 2015
THE FIRST EVENT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A TEXAS HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 60 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL IMMEDIATLY WENT STIFF AND A CHIME AND WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF IN THE CAR INDICATING THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS FAULTING AND HAD SHUT OFF. THE EVENT CAUSED DISTRESS AS I HAD MY FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC USING GREAT EFFORT IN ORDER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURNED IT ON AND THE ERROR WENT AWAY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GET CHECKED AT A LOCAL GENERAL MOTORS DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD ABOUT THE RECALL AFFECTING POWER STEERING ASSIST IN THESE VEHICLES. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT QUALIFY WITH GM SAFETY RECALL EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY UPWARDS OF 1600 DOLLARS TO GET THE ISSUE REPAIRED. I THEN CONTACTED GM CORPORATE REGARDING THE INCIDENT. THEY STATED VIA EMAIL THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE SAFETY RECALL EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME ISSUES AS THOSE VEHICLES GM ACKNOWLEDGED. THEY INFORMED US THAT THEY WOULD DO NOTHING TO REPAIR THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND WE WERE LEFT WITH NO OTHER AVENUES. THE ISSUE HAS COME AND GONE A COUPLE OF TIMES SINCE THEN LUCKILY IN LESS DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WITH THE WORST ONE EVEN LEADING THE VEHICLE TO STEER TOWARDS THE SIDE OF A STREET STRIKING THE SIDEWALK. THIS INCIDENT DID NOT INJURE ANYBODY BUT DID CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPAIRED OUT OF POCKET, HOWEVER IT STILL RAISES MAJOR CONCERNS TOWARDS THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND THAT OF MY FAMILY'S. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY THUS FAR THAT NONE OF THE INCIDENTS WITH GM FAULTY STEERING CONTROL ASSIST HAVE CAUSED DIRECT HARM TO MYSELF OR OTHERS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS), BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE EXTERIOR BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER IN WISCONSIN WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE BEING REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (POWER TRAIN), THREE MONTHS LATER THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN REVERSE AFTER REVERSING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO PARK AS WELL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DUPLESSIS BUICK GMC AT 2522 S BURNSIDE AVE, GONZALES, LA 70737 WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DUPLICATED DIAGNOSED FROM THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 178,450.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. WHILE MAKING BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,946.
FIRST THERE IS A MESSAGE THAT POPS UP ON MY DASHBOARD SAYING ABOUT MY AIRBAG WARNING. IT POPS UP THROUGHTOUT MY DRIVE. ITS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I BOUGHT MY CAR IN 2008. BUT I MEVER GOT A RECALL PAPER IN THE MAIL AND WHEN I PUT MY VIN NUMBER IN, IT HAS NO RECALLS FOR THE AIRBAG. ITS ALARMING AND SCARY HEARING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLES COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUES. SECONDLY I GOT A LETTER IN THE MAIL FROM GMC OR SOMETHING ABOUT A RECALL ON MY CAR. IT HAD TO DO WITH MY BREAK LIGHTS COMING ON AUTOMATICALLY WHILE I HAD MY CAR IN THE PARK POSITION. I WAS EXCITED TO FINALLY GET IT FIXED BUT WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE GMC MECHANICS IN ALBANY OREGON THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. HOWEVER TILL THIS DAY I CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE. THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN ON AND STAY ON WHILE IM DRIVING. IVE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO WERE DRIVING BEHIND ME TELL ME THE SAME THING. I JUST GOT BACK FROM VACATION AND WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY FOR A LONG TIME, I STOPPED AT THE REST AREA AND AN OLDER GENTLEMAN CAME UP TO ME AND TOLD ME MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON THE WHOLE TIME FOR THE LAST 30 MILES HE WAS BEHIND ME. IF I GOT A LETTER CONCERNING MY BRAKES THEN WHY ARENT THEY WILLING TO FIX MY PROBLEM.
MY WHEEL AN BRAKES LOCKED WHILE I WAS DRIVING CAUSING ME TO HIT TWO CARS PARKED MY AIRBAGS NEVER CAME OUT THE DRIVER SIDE TIRE AN FRONT END BUSTED FLUIDS LEAK OUT AN IT HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET VECHILE WAS TOWED
OFFICER TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKES WOULD COME ON WHILE DRIVING AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF WHILE BRAKING. MY CRUISE CONTROL NO LONGER WORKS AND I HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKES IN FURTHER TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK. THE OFFICER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO BE OPERATING.

THE VEHICLE TAKEN THE DEALER AT: FLOW AUTOMOTIVE LOCATED IN GREENSBORO, NC WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT PROVIDED.
ELECTRIC HARTOP ROOF WILL NOT LATCH COMPLETLY AND WILL NOT ALLOW ACCESS TO TRUNK EITHER. HAPPEN AFETR HAVING CHEVOLET GARAGE WORK ON VEHICLE HAD OTHER ISSUES AS WELL . APPROX ON DATE HAD MULTIPLE DATES WORKED ON . KEY LOCKED THEY RPLCD KEY LOCK ASSY , THEN A CABLE WHICH WAS PROBLEM DID NOT ALLOW START AND SHIFTING OF VEHICLE. CHARGE MULTIPLE TIMES AND DID NOT FIX BUT CHARGED ALOT FOR PARTS SWAPPING TO TRY AND FIX ISSUE. ALSO CAUSED OIL LEAK AND NEVER REPAIRED STEERING ISSUE/POPPING IN FRONT END DRIVERS SIDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD CLUNKY NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (THOMPSON SALES COMPANY, 1555 E INDEPENDENCE ST, SPRINGFIELD, MO 65804) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED THROUGH THE RADIO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
THE POWER STEERING ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED IN THE RADIO SECTION OF THE CAR
CATALYTIC CONVERTER. WAS RECALLED AND CHANGED NOW SAME ISSUE ALL OVER.
TAKATA RECALL. MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP WHO SAYS THAT IT IS A SENSOR. I REPLACED THE SENSOR AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT STILL WILL NOT GO OFF. THE AIRBAGS HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE LIST.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (DENOOYER CHEVROLET IN KALAMAZOO, MI) WHO STATED THAT THE UNKNOWN RECALL WAS CLOSED. ANOTHER DEALER WAS CONTACTED (COLE GILMORE GMC IN KALAMAZOO, MI) AND ASLO STATED THAT THE RECALL WAS CLOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE RECALL WAS CLOSED AND THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 156,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVERY DAY FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,197.
WE HAD A PONTIAC G6 THAT HAD A RECALL ON BRAKES AND POWER STEERING AND MY MOTHER WAS IN A WRECK AND HAD TO HAVE BRAIN SURGERY THANK GOD SHE MADE IN WE HAD A PONTIAC G6 2006 I HAVE IT ON VIDEO WERE IT ALMOST ROLLED OVER BOTH OF US WHEN IT WAS IN PARK AND WE GOT OUT OF IT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH AND MY MOTHER HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME SINCE HER BRAIN SURGERY. SO PLEASE CHECK YOU VEHICLE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT TOMORROW WILL BRING!!!
ELCTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILING HIGH WINDING SOUNDS WHEN THE STEWRONG WHEEL IS TURNED AND FAILING ELECTRONIC SYSTEM VEHICLE SAYS VENT VALVE SELENOID IS BAD, CHANGED IT OUT AND CLEARED THE CODE AND ERROR STILL COMES BACK, ALSO. RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIMLY LIT AND THERE IS SOME SORT OF VOLTAGE PROBLEM GOING ON?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (DUBLIN CHEVROLET GMC BUICK LOCATED AT 2042 VETERANS BLVD DUBLIN, GA 31021) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. DRIVER UNSURE IF CAR IS OK OR NOT. BOTH LITES AT THE SAME TIME. ALSO, SEATBELT WARNING LITE/CHIME DO NOT GO AWAY EVEN WHEN BUCKLED.

THE DRIVER SUFFERED PAIN AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE BODY DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. ALSO, WHILE TURNING THE WHEELS TO LEAVE A PARKING SPOT, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN AND TORQUE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL; HOWEVER, IT HAD BEEN COMPLETED. THEREFORE, THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT ASSIST. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,000.
VEHICLE HAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WHERE IT LOSES POWER AND STALLS WHILE DRIVING. AFTER A FEW MINUTES WE ARE ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE BRAKES SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND STRUCK THE GUARDRAIL THREE TIMES. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE LANDED IN A DITCH ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 193,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

RECENTLY, I SAW AN ARTICLE FROM A LOCAL NEWS STATION REGARDING THE ATTORNEY GENERAL GOING AFTER LOCAL CAR DEALERSHIPS FOR NOT DISCLOSING OR FIXING RECALLS FOR CARS SOLD OFF OF THEIR LOT. I PURCHASED MY CAR IN FEBRUARY 2015, WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY ISSUES OR RECALLS. UPON PLACING MY VIN NUMBER INTO THE NHTSA WEBSITE, I DISCOVERED THAT I HAVE THREE RECALLS THAT HAVE AFFECTED MY CAR, HAVING TO DO WITH THE BRAKES, TRANSMISSION AND POWER STEERING. MY CAR HAS HAD ISSUES WITH ITS BRAKES FROM THE GET-GO, I EVEN WENT BACK TO WEBSMART TO HAVE IT FIXED WITH MY WARRANTY. MERE WEEKS AFTER GETTING IT "FIXED", THE ISSUES RETURNED AND I'M NOT SURE IF IT HAS TO DO WITH THIS RECALL OR NOT. MY POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT ON ME THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING, IN THE LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS THAT I HAVE HAD THE CAR. I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO REGARDING THIS AND COULD USE SOME HELP. THANK YOU, MATT.
FUEL LEAK NEAR GAS TANK CAUSES GASOLINE TO DRIP/SPRAY ONTO THE GROUND AND POOL UNDER THE VEHICLE.

THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ASSIST. THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL, GM# 14772, WHICH COVERS THE PONTIAC G6 AND THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM. WHY ISN'T MY VEHICLE COVERED? I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM!! IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY, INCLUDING ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS.

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY; HOWEVER, SOMETIMES THE FAILURE WOULD PERSIST. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 193,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
ON APPROXIMATELY 13 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST 2 MONTHS (WHILE ON A CITY STREET AT 25MPH, AND WHILE ON A STATE HIGHWAY WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 65MPH) ALL INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES GO CRAZY AND SUDDENLY DROPPED TO ZERO. 'POWER STEERING' MESSAGE AND 'LOW FUEL' LIGHT (HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS) WAS SHOWN ON THE RADIO MESSAGE CENTER, ALONG WITH WARNING SOUNDS, AND 'ERROR' WAS DISPLAYED IN THE ODOMETER WINDOW. GAUGES CONTINUED FLUCTUATING REPEATEDLY FROM NORMAL AND/OR CORRECT RANGES, TO ZERO, AND CONTINUED SOUNDING/SHOWING WARNING SOUNDS AND ERROR MESSAGES FOR APPROX 5-6 MINUTES. THEN ALL GAUGES DROPPED TO ZERO AND STAYED THERE, CAR ENGINE WAS CUTTING IN AND OUT AND RADIO STOPPED WORKING. PULLED OFF THE ROAD, DID NOT HAVE A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. PARKED CAR, SHUT OFF, REMOVED KEY, OPENED DOOR AND RESTARTED CAR. DROVE FINE (NO ISSUES) FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES AND THEN THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN, THIS TIME RADIO STAYED ON AND ENGINE DID NOT CUT OUT, GUAGES RETURNED TO NORMAL AFTER ABOUT 2-3 MINUTES OF INTERMITTENT FLUCTUATING, ERROR MESSAGES DISAPPEARED FROM MESSAGE CENTER WITHOUT HAVING TO SHUT OFF CAR, BUT TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT SHOWED IT WAS OFF AND I COULD NOT TURN BACK ON - TRACTION CONTROL WORKED AFTER CAR WAS TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED A SHORT TIME LATER. RECALL REPAIR FOR POWER STEERING TORQUE SENSOR WAS COMPLETED AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO, IN 2015. TWO MECHANICS IN AREA COULD NOT FIND CODES THAT WERE THROWN BUT STATE THAT IT IS PROBABLY THE PART OR A PART PERTAINING TO THE RECALLED TORQUE SENSOR, BUT COULD NOT CONFIRM.

THEY SAID MY CAR WAS OUT OF THE MANUFACTURER DATE OF THE RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000). I HAD THE 23232310 SENSOR KIT AND 22837369 MODULE REPLACED. $1303.34. WHY IS MY CAR NOT COVERED WHEN IT SOUNDS LIKE IT HAD THE SAME ISSUES AS THOSE IN THE RECALL. THE DEALER SAID MINE WAS MADE LATER WITH NEWER PARTS. BUT, IT STILL APPEARS TO HAVE FAILED THE SAME WAY. ARE THERE OTHER COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE? SHOULD MINE BE IN THE RECALL?
MY VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A RECALLED PART (BRAKE LAMP MALFUNCTION) AND MY VEHICLE IS STILL LOCKING UP. AFTER FIXING THE RECALLED PART I HAVE PURCHASED A BATTERY, A CALIBER, STARTER, AND TWO HUBS. MY CAR IS STILL NOT WORKING IT WILL FUNCTION FOR A COUPLE OF MILES PERFECTLY, AND THEN IT RETURNS TO THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,000.
I RECEIVED A LETTER IN MARCH OF 2017 ADVISING ME OF A POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH A BCM COULD CAUSE A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS OF MY VEHICLE. THE LETTER STATES THAT I SHOULD NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS UNLESS I WAS CERTAIN THE PROBLEM EXISTED. THE LETTER WENT ON TO EXPLAIN THAT GM WOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THIS VEHICLE TO COVER THE NEEDED REPAIRS IF THE PROBLEM WERE TO SHOW AS LONG AS IT WAS LESS THAN 15 YEARS, OR 150,000 MILES FROM THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PUT IN TO SERVICE. THE THING THAT INSULTS ME IS THAT I HAD THE VEHICLE IN A DEALER SHOP A COUPLE OF MONTHS PRIOR TO GETTING THIS LETTER TO HAVE A POWER STEERING PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. ANYTIME A VEHICLE IS TAKEN TO A DEALER THE MILEAGE IS RECORDED AND THEREFORE GM KNEW, OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BEFORE SENDING THE LETTER THAT MY VEHICLE WAS ALREADY BEYOND THE MILEAGE THEY WERE ALLOWING IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. IF THIS WAS SUCH A PROBLEM I WOULD THING GM SHOULD COVER IT NO MATTER THE AMOUNT OF TIME ON THE ROAD OR THE NUMBER OF MILES. ATTACHED ARE BOTH THE DEALER SHOP TICKET SHOWING THE VIN, DATE AND MILEAGE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED FOR A STEERING ISSUE, AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY LETTER LIMITING THE MILEAGE TO LESS THAN WHAT GM SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WAS ON THE VEHICLE WHEN THE LETTER WAS MAILED.

FOUR MONTHS AGO, WE EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY WITH THE POWER STEERING. BORCHERDING BUICK SERVICE TECHNICIAN TOLD US THERE IS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING COLUMN, BUT, WAIT UNTIL IT ACTS UP MORE AND THEY CAN FIX IT. JANUARY 11, 2017 THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY. THE NEXT DAY WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE BORCHERDING DEALERSHIP. THEY WERE KIND ENOUGH TO GIVE US A LOANER AND TYPED IN THE REPAIR WORK. LATER THAT DAY, WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL STATING THE, THE SPECIAL COVERAGE IS OUT OF PARAMETER BECAUSE THE RECALL EXPIRED 1-31-2015. THE ITEM DEFECTIVE WAS THE POWER STEERING MODULE, WHICH GM AUTOMATICALLY REPLACED WHEN THEY REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN. WE FEEL IT IS UNETHICAL FOR GM NOT TO STAND BEHIND THE RECALL, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! JEFF BOYER V.P. OF VEHICLE SAFETY IN A PREVIOUS LETTER STATED, "HE WILL MAKE IT RIGHT".
